FFxivWrite2023 Day 7 Prompt Noisome (make up entry)

The most noticeable thing was the smell, wet, sickly and earthy but not in a good way.  This was rot, this was death.  That was the first impression Eirina got as she passed through the barrier to the City of Amdapor.  It was apparent why the Seedseers were worried, this was..wrong.  

Huge piles of fungal growth covered every ilm of the ancient city.  Every creature they encountered was being driven mad by the literal infestation of fungal growth completely covering them.  The air was thick and so full of spoors that the Half-Elezen made a mental note to have her fellows running with her as well as herself see the conjurers at Stillgade Fane after this to prevent themselves from ending up like the creatures they were combating here.

They continued through the ruined city putting down everything that stood in their path, when they got to its deepest depths they found what had the elementals so shook up.  A rather powerful demon.  They fought him with all their  might but in the end he managed to escape and as they dragged themselves out of Amdapor Erinia felt a sense of foreboding feeling that this was not the last time they were going to have to deal with Diablos.

The tired group made their way back to Camp Tranquil and made their report to Raya-o and her brother before Erinia insisted they all return to the Fane and see the conjurers to make sure that the prolonged inhaling of the spores didn't end up having the same effects on themselves as it had the poor creatures within the rotting city.
