Dream a Little Dream of Me, The Sandman, 1.03
Jamie Childs (D), Jim Campolongo (S), 05/08/22
Et donc, troisième épisode suivant la chronologie originale (The Sandman #3), mais avec un changement important puisque Constantine est une femme, et pas n'importe laquelle. Le choix de Patton Owald pour incarner Matthew est juste du pur génie.

The Sandman (S1 Review) | Shockingly Accurate and Captivating
I thought the SDCC trailer was awesome but I didn't expect to as impressed with #TheSandman I'm binging this again!
I have heard of this intellectual property (IP) for years, I knew The Sandman name before I even knew that Neil Gaiman wrote it, ironically the same thing happened with Stardust, which is one of my favorite movies. Anyways Gaiman has developed and executive produced the show, Allan Heinberg (Wonder Woman) and David S. Goyer are showrunners. Like the audible version they’ve assembled an amazing…

@smalltall I like that the higher proportion of women cuts down somewhat on the G*iman trademark misogynistic bullshit, but you can’t do much about it when you start with that source material. and the thing that’s sticking out to me now is that a *lot* of the corpses are brown people. hooray, they cast Eleanor Fanyinka as Johanna Constantine’s ex girlfriend… and still killed her canon style! yay?
too right about everything being mud colored. it’s one of the ugliest shows I’ve ever seen. the guy playing Dream delivers all his lines like he’s speaking through a coma. everybody overexplains everything in exactly the stilted way the little rectangular narration boxes in comics are supposed to accomplish, and it 100% does not translate to television. I hate Patton Oswalt so I’m not having fun anytime Matthew speaks, but he’s animated well at least. I don’t mind the pacing issues terribly because so far, at least, it hasn’t seemed to drag. paradoxically, I do resent that the episodes are all around 40 minutes, but, well, any more than that and they’d drag.
overall, I’m enjoying it enough to keep watching and I think they’re doing a decent job of preserving the good bits, and I will almost certainly like it more when Death shows up.

Fanyinka, the first actor cast in the project, will play The Seer, a mysterious and playful figure who can lead you down the path of true love.

I don’t want to post loads of content from episodes which still haven’t aired on ITV yet but I have to post this - John in full Supportive Dad mode towards Jade-Marie and Jamie.
