Oh who are all your staff based or inspired by?

Catrina Maravilla: Original Catrina (before she was "Catrina") was based on Ernesto de la Cruz but eventually she became more of an Imelda mixed with La Muerte

Sarafina Abara: A mix between Uru and Sarabi. I wanted a lioness who would be tough love towards Leona (and give him a reason for his fear respect of Savannah women)

Lucien Donadieu: Originally he was based on Sarousch but the more I developed him the more I left that behind and he became more of a twst Madellaine

Emiliano Posada: He became my Ernesto de la Cruz oc. But his UM takes inspiration from Xibalba (gets the skull eyes)

Sergio Rodriguez: I had an Imelda and an Ernesto so I wanted a Hector. Also making him let me work on Catrina's childhood and the dynamic of the Maravilla siblings (another person to know the old Catrina and mourn Dante but he was with the Maravillas for the 10 years Catrina wasn't)

Elysia Di Siena: I had a spell book inspired oc before but I wanted to make a different one (who's skin wasn't literally paper though they might make a come back). Her main inspiration is V from Devil May Cry

Valdis Di Siena: Wanted to keep with Elysia's V inspiration and make a mix of Griffon and Shadow (why he's a cat). More serious than Elysia to balance her out. One loves humanity while one hates humanity.

Lorcan Bellamira: I wanted an attractive vampire with his specific heterochromnia (one brown eye and one pale blue) so I made him for self satisfaction

Aegeus Hexis: I kept working on Galatea and wanted to make her dad a full character. Galatea has no emotions currently towards her death, so Aegeus is the sole emotional look we have at her death (since Loxias blocked it out)

Eztli Maravilla: Listen... I was falling for Zatz from Maya y los tres... So I wanted to make a twst version of him. Plus it was slightly Azteca aka Mexica which then became Mexico and so connected to the Maravillas. And a kind counterpart of death compared to his mom

La Muerte: I wanted a scorned woman who would be the reason for the Maravilla's connection to death. She's who lead the Maravillas to their doom

Deus: Working on Yua, and the book spirit was always a factor of her story but I kept wanting to make them an actual character. I adore snakes so I went with snakes with the added bonus that snakes can eat crows to show him against Crowley

For fun I'll do how my NRC staff would interact with them ^^

Catrina Maravilla: Complete fear in the beginning, especially since they were there before she started teaching. She'd try to hide behind Trein, Sara or Divus as soon as she catches a glimpse. I can still see her be nervous around them but be more open to talk to them now. She'd freeze up like a mouse if she feels them "stalking" her. Poor Catrina is the ancient incantations/magic professor so I can only imagine how rigid she'd be if they have to teach at the same time 🤣

Sarafina Abara: She'll talk to them but she's suspicious. So small talk is probably the farthest she'll go or make up lies about herself to talk to them. Doesn't mean she dislikes them, she's just not one to trust easy

Lucien Donadieu: Much more open to them, he tends to drink after performances with his favorite being wine so he's more partial to Viper. The man was a cirque performer so he's definitely entertaining

Emiliano Posada: Metaphorical snake meets real snakes. He's also one to drink often so that may be how he spends time with them (fuck him up sneks, make the manipulator get manipulated!!) Snake probably saw Emiliano in one of those teen magazines because he's a famous singer

Elysia Di Siena: Since she assists in ancient curses she sees both fairly often. She is also someone of a mysterious past (just showing up at the school and already knowing Crowley). She's covered in ancient magic symbols and spells from long dead languages so they might take interest in that on her. I can see Elysia knowing if Snake tries to use a spell on her and its a simple "Please try me, I'll cut your tongue off. But don't worry, I'll be gentle~" with a closed eye smile before going back to her usual happiness

Valdis Di Siena: Doesn't like them, doesn't like that Elysia is close to them and he takes magic seriously and knows the possible side effects of ancient magic so he doesn't like their attitudes (who does Valdis like??? Elysia.. And that's because they've been travel companions for centuries)

Rontia Chesis: Tall moth meets tall sneks, they're a little taller than her (Moth man is around 7 ft/214 cm so that's how tall she is). She's one of the most childish staff and is mostly out at night so she probably hasn't interacted much with them. She has heard strange sounds come from the forest at night but never looks into it (doesn't get paid enough, lol)

Lorcan Bellamira: They teach the same class so he has talked to both a fair amount. Plus he also likes wine (yeah... Wine... That's totally the red liquid always in his glass...). He definitely trusts Viper more, for good reason. I can see him talk about the subject they teach a lot with them

Aegeus Hexis: Old dad that falls for their tricks a lot. As a demigod he has little sense of self preservation so he's not even cautious around them (though that can ruin the fun). Watch him call them "kids"

Eztli Maravilla: Another ancient immortal. When Eztli is alone he usually mumbles to himself in dead languages (because he's still learning modern languages). He's quick to pick up on what they're doing (because his mother is quite similar). Old bat who is both oblivious and cautious to them (doesn't know that he's cautious)

Elysia giggled "careful now, you're only human and could get hurt" she smiled at the boy who tugged at the skirt of her dress. At the action she kneeled down "Yes?" Her eyes widened a bit in surprise as she felt a flower crown be placed on her head "Hehe, for you teacher!" The boy grinned with his eyes closed.

Eztli is slowly trying to have her warm up to him so he can finally have "family" since they are both Maravillas

Sarafina and Emiliano

Sara wants to knock him out. He's Catrina's ex husband while she's her ex girlfriend and while they broke up on bad terms she still cared about her. So to see what she became after Emiliano makes the lioness want to knock all his treated white teeth out.

Lucien and Sergio

Music nerds. Art nerds. They light up around one another. Lucien is a natural on stage while Sergio is akward so he tries to pull him on stage when he can

Elysia and La Muerte

An immortal that loves humanity and an immortal that sees humans as playthings. They talk about their lives throughout the centuries as they try to understand each other to no avail

Valdis and Lorcan

Lorcan loves to tease the cat, "half-heartedly" flirting with him. They both have heterochromnia with one blue eye so Lorcan likes to tease that Valdis "completes" him. Valdis is reminded about why he finds humans annoying with Lorcan, though the man is no longer a human

Aegeus and Rontia

Rontia is like a giant child and Aegeus misses the energy that Galatea had when she was alive. She would be a lot like how Rontia acts. So he's her pseudo dad. She'll talk his ear off with all her ramblings about what happened during the night while he tinkers away

Dated before Yuuto ended up in the world of twst. Yua(now "Ire") is the reason for Yuuto entering this world in an effort to save him.

Both were retainers of the di Siena witch. When the witch died they gave their magic/memories between their cat and spell book, giving both a human form. Both cannot die and had been on and off through the lonely centuries.

Aegeus Hexis and Melpomene Hexis

Melpomene was the wife of Aegeus and mother of Galatea who died shortly after childbirth. When Galatea was alive she looked almost identical to her mother.

Lorcan Bellamira and Ephemera Chiaro

Ephemera was the fiancée of Lorcan who died of illness before they could marry. The two were childhood sweethearts. After her death Lorcan tried whatever magic he could to bring her back, eventually making a deal with the devil and losing his humanity.

His lips lingered for a moment before Elysia spoke up "Lorcan, if you want to see my spells you can simply ask" she continued "Though if you want to see the forgotten spells I'd have to undress-" "NOONE WILL BE UNDRESSING!!!" Valdis cut in, standing in front of Elysia as he hissed at Lorcan.

"I was wondering when you'd get here, kitten" he teased which sent a chill down Valdis's spine "Valdis, you didn't tell me you made a friend?" Elysia tilted her head "He's not my friend, my lady!!" The cat almost hissed at her but instead sighed, slumping his shoulders "I'm not your friend? Ah Valdis I'm surprised at you. If you wanted to be more than friends you could have just asked~" Lorcan cooed which made Valdis cringe "No, you pathetic mortal!!!" "You are aware he's not longer mortal, right Valdis?" Elysia cut it.

"I haven't been a mortal since I made a deal with a demon." Lorcan shrugged "His immortality is different from ours though, he can still die. We cannot" Elysia smiled "I could cut my own head off and it would regrow. Shall I show-" "NO!!""Yeah!!"

"Move faster!!" "I've never had a body before?!!!" Valdis and Elysia bickered as they scrambled out of the burning house "But master-" Elysia cried out, trying to turn around "Don't, you'll get yourself killed. They're sacrificing themself for us. Don't let their death be a waste." Valdis spoke coldly, forcing every fiber of his being to keep moving.

Elysia bit her lip before nodding, trying to match Valdis's pace as he tugged her arm. Shock ran through her body as her bare feet touched snow for the first time. As soon as they were at a distance the roof caved in on the house that was once theirs. The screams of their master were covered by the roar of flames and shouts of guards.

Elysia stopped suddenly, face going pale. Valdis raised an eyebrow, tugging her arm though she didn't move before- A blood curdling scream left her throat. The man's eyes widened as he tried to muffle her sudden screams so they would not get caught "Elysia, we'll get caught!! Be quiet!" He whispered harshly as she cried and squirmed. Between wails of pain she spoke "my body...!! My book...!! It's burning!!!" black tears fell from her eyes as symbols and words began to appear on her skin. The cat gasped in shock as the spells that were once in the spell book now appeared on her human body.

Though they were muffled Elysia continued to cry as her original body, her book, burned. Feeling all the pain as if it was happening to her now. She gave one last scream before her body went limp, falling unconscious. Valdis held her close, lifting her up before running away from the ruins of their past.

Alright, so for best bird girl I gotta go with Aconitum (Wolf's bane).

It symbolizes that danger or a for may be nearby, a flower of caution. But it is also a flower of misanthropy(hates/dislikes mankind), and with how some people treat Yoru I see it fitting. But also, it's a gorgeous flower, one that is not too popular for it's looks. However it is a potent poison. In a sense it reminds me of how Yoru is with magic, while she can't do it she is talented in what she can do. Overlooked for this inability to do magic but she can and will mess someone up

Now for Elysia, Syringa(Lilac)

Meaning first love, spirituality. It also means rebirth or regeneration after losing her "old body" (spell book) and getting reborn as who she is. She is confident in who she is. It was also a flower of old love which is what was between Valdis and Elysia. It can also mean wisdom, and with her knowing all of old magic it fits her
