The video started and was clearly recorded from Star’s phone, though the time is unknown. The grey appendage sometimes seen passing over the camera as they change their hold on it. Claws can be heard tapping idly onto their phone case, and bubble like laughter oozing from behind the camera. Their moments slow as they speak to what could be seen.
What was it? Well...
Before the camera was a large spider slash hermit crab lusus. The sea dweller was talking to him as if talking to an annoyed toddler or even an unimpressed kid to a parent. Regardless, Star was clearly amused by what was transpiring as they followed the backwards scuttling large creature. Easily ignoring it’s upturned threatening claws as it screeched... Something in their direction. The simple stupidity of what was happening making the large troll wheeze brokenly as thy pause their pursuit of the lanky creature.
It’s unseen on the camera, but it’s easy enough to tell Star has started laughing themselves to tears. Camera still trained to the now still lusus that slowly opened and closed his claws. Well... Claw. In his other one was a small--to Star that is.--dagger with a golden colored handle and violet ribbon attached. If paused to look at, its clear to see the metal has been stained many colors, and with different acids.
Finally, the camera moves again, and Stars thick accent is much clearer.
“Buoy! Givve.. Haha.. Gimme t’at back ya fuckin’ crustacean... Kankri yer lusus wwon’t givve me back me dagger!”
There was no reply, just a slight heavy sigh as someone off screen is heard swiveling a rolling chair around. Stars laughter is still heard rolling in waves as they reach their hand out to the spindly lusus, only to have he raise the claws and knife threateningly. Of course, all it did was make the sea troll laugh harder, wheezing uncontrollably as they talk.
“Gimme t’at back! Ah, heeheheh.. Ah need t’at for t’e autopsy!”  “He’s not going to give it back.” Game the condescending tone of a certain fair fraying and ANNOYING Vantas. Though, from where is a mystery. “Pray he falls asleep for you to get it back before the... Specimen,” The tone is... Disgusted almost? “, expires.”
Star, absolutely loosing it, turns around so that Kankri is in the shot. Legs crossed and making him seem larger then he really is, he shook his head in disdain at Stars giggly actions. Though, even with his snagged tooth, it almost looks likes he smirking.
Zooming in so that only Kankri’s face is in the screen, the sea troll almost cries out in shock. “Bitch wwhat? WWhy?”
Without missing a beat, Kankri looks directly into the camera before hollering. “Because he’s a BITCH!” That sent Star cackling like a mad witch they are.
The video ends with the camera back on the lusus, and Star completely loosing their collective shit over the crab taking their knife.

Star ==> Lose your collective SHIT
Star was minding their own business, leaving the bathroom after double checking their halfass self stitches. There was a minor infection, and it caused their temperature to rise, but nay a thing Star had not been forced to deal with prior to having so many lives to guide on their ship. But one of those lives is connected to them in a more personal manner then any troll ever will be.
His soul share called for them, and they were quick to answer.
The call was of their dead name. The attempt to spell “Eridan”, for  Tech knows the name is for life or death to get the sea trolls attention. Paws padding as they charge down their thin twisted halls. Pictures falling from the speed they ram into walls, Star is soon a blur as they rush into the room by which their moirail called. Eyes wide as he hunts for the issue. Though, it was quick to put together--his air. It was always his air.
Pupils are wide as he scans, locating the mask which would gift his love his breath once more, Star was soon lightening born anew. Panic blooming deep inside their stomach and crawling hungrily up their chest before reaching the goldbloods side. Though not unfamiliar with the feeling of panic, it was a new breed. For Tech was one to not use their dead name lightly. Words laced with honey and sweeter then candy, the naturally feral troll switched from the slim tubing to the mask. Practiced fingers dancing over and through his diamonds soft hair and prickled skin, landing him with tender promises of being here. That they are not going.
Once the mask is placed, Star shifts so that the warm, brilliant mind of their quad could rest upon their own chilled lap. Luckily dressed in their night gown to offer something as a form of fabric for the naturally panicked troll to chew on or claw at to sooth his frayed and broken nerves. Allowing him room to calm his soul, the soul that danced with their own. The agony slowly choking the older troll, like tendrils of the Monster herself, Star pushes softly to know what has drawn such a reaction. Praying, hoping, desperate for it to be only anons. Only something Star can control.
It was never something Star could control.
Their violet eyes looked over the words from the lowlife troll that called themselves an emperor. The sheer fact he clearly took no thought to Tech’s obvious unstable state of mind. His inability to ever blame someone else for pains, issues, mistakes. Skin boiling with an anger anew, the small troll turns to his sobbing quad. Hands and claws moving through him and his hair like he so deserves. The touches, the love, the attention. The need to be needed, to be valued.
Star poured each motion, each dance of their fingers with the utmost care. Widdling through his agony with words softer than satin, and tone soother then the honey that they make. Eyes lidded with adoration for their lover who sobs into their thinning stomach. Pain useless as the large trolls claws pierce their skin, and with blood trickling a slow driblets down their back and over their tail. Wails of heartbreak, about what he did wrong, are the only noise on the ship.
His sobs and shaky breaths. His pleas to know what he did wrong. Why Nadire would leave him. Blaming himself for not pushing more, for giving Nadire the space he claimed he needed.
The same space Star stopped talking to him because of.  The space.  It’s always the space.
Attempting to keep their gaze upturned, Stars fear turned to anger. The cooling touch of depression turn pure, uncontrollable rage--a familiar feeling.--boiling up. Flames alight with a vengeful spirit, it takes all of their will power to not get up and charge after the monster that would do this to such a fragile troll. Their own claws idly digging into Tech’s shoulders before pulling out once more but a mere tick later. Their eyes, now red with their furious bile of hatred, are filled with nothing but love as they purr out words of adoration.
It wasn’t Tech’s fault Nadire never reached out. It wasn’t Tech’s fault Nadire never considered him. It wasn’t Tech’s fault Nadire didn’t listen to others.
It wasn’t Tech’s fault.
Though they knew it was a pointless battle between themselves and Tech’s untamable anxiety, they filled their bitter words with sugar to hide the bubbling agony that gobbled their emotions. The red filling their vision. The narrowness of some mind. How he believed there would be no agony on the other end. About the troll he was supposedly friends with?
Keeping tender touches, loving embraces, sweet nothings, Star kept holding Tech. Petting the goldblood. Kissing him when they can, wherever they can. Hands cooling to the burning gold inside their love. Inside their most palest of diamonds. And whilst they craved nothing more then to hunt down the vile beast that would hurt their prince, Star remained where they sat.
Star stayed there, comforting the soul they once danced with. The turbulent, scorching, putrid, bile of a troll having crushed the soul of their love. So, during this time when Tech’s soul could not dance with their own, they remained. Sitting, praying, begging, as they attempted to bloom bac light into their dearest beloved.
The red didn’t leave their eyes for hours.

He laid with her, head on her lap as she played with his hair. Tail curled over his legs as he sits and purrs softly with contentment. It was always nice to be with Penu. They even have a green heart! Best friend heart! It was a good time.
He got to see a cloudless rainy night.  He got to see her. He got... He got...
He got happy for his friends.
He hasn’t heard from Prince much, but TD and Penumbra have both spent time with him since the end of their wars. Explaining the worlds and blood spilled. The metal shattered, lives saved, the new reality. How buzzed their were.
TD got his collar off and the two went on a date to have TD show off his psionics and had snacks.  Penumbra plays with his hair and promises him cleanings as her hands leave them a muddled mess with how she cares for him.
He is so full of joy.  He is so full of Pride.
His friends did this.  They survived and made the world their bitch. Maybe they aren’t all the same. Maybe they have wounds, and scars, and broken parts that will never be the same.  But they did it.
He was so, so, so fucking happy for them.  So... What made his heart ache so?

Star had put away their husktop, slowly stood up and had gotten into their lab clothing. It was the only thing that was always going to fit. Because whenever they mentioned it was vaguely too small, their boss got them a new one.
They are the scientist.  The one who’s job it is to find cures and medicine for the sick and dying.
They’ve created things that can fix burns with barely a scar--but it’s only half the time. The other half? They burn from the inside out. Can’t send that back. Salves that could help loosen muscles to the point where even the most damned could sleep. And yet they remain restless because they cannot breath.
Star’s job is so simple, yet impossible.  Star’s job is so simple, yet they can’t do it right.
Now Star’s next job is simple enough, and they can’t get their head out of their own ass enough to appreciate what their friends say.
That? They blame on themselves, and those that have caused words to be bitter on their tongue.
The mood will change. By the evening they’ll have gotten over this, and be back to the overly loud and cheerful person everyone is happier having around. They’ll be a pest, an annoyance, and a freak, but hey, at least people will think they’re “cute”.
Bahumbug, they thought. As their needle snaps inside the skin of their test subject. Dammit...

Penumbra is asleep on Tech, and Tech is busy with that. Star has taken the tea cups back and is now sitting in the control room. Why? Because that’s close to where they keep the spare blankets.
What were they doing?
Poking their chest and huffing.
Admittedly they felt very happy in their body, and it took them a long time to get there, but sometimes trends and peoples words got them down. They’ll bounce back... Probably.

Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. Exhale.
Star slowly rubs at the top of his head as he tries to deal with this. This was clearly bound to happen. Not at all happening like it did with Tech. It’s all okay.
It’s all okay.
Smile Star, you’re the happy friend. Bury that anger and pain away. It’s not what a guardian does.

Star closed the chat after that last message. It took all their will power not to make a typo again. The violet rushing down their face had been a constant for more then half the conversation.
Eri really wanted them gone that much?  Eri really thinks that way about them?  Eri really... Really...
Hands shaking, they just shake above the keyboards. Sniffling in silence to try and keep the tears at bay. They just kept marching along his face like it was fruitless endeavor. A putrid waste of time.
It stung.  It really fucking stung.
He wanted Tech. He wanted Colase.  He wanted TD.  He...
He wanted Eri. But Eri isn’t coming back. So fuck him anyways.

Star? Sadly holding their own tits as they sigh and curl up against Tech for the night? It’s... Rather likely. As the sea dweller felt really fucking gross for some reason over how they look.
Condy still hasn’t gotten back to them, and they kinda assumed she got busy and forgot... Which is alright, it’s all fine.
They just... Weren’t cut out for really anything, were they?

They keep calling him “his friend” “your friend” “your buddy”. When did it stop being “our friend”? Was being in that bloody server the only reason anyone ever spoke to them? Were they that replaceable? That forgettable?
They’re right there. So easy to message. They made it clear it’s okay to still message them. And yet...
While Tech was still here, they smiled. They laughed and encouraged their moirail to make friends, to get along with people. The goldblood deserved the world, and the universe, and everything between the atoms and eves of the cosmic realities.
So, when the other had left, Star crumbled.
It seems this Star reaches it’s end constantly. And who knows when they’ll burn something.

Star was... Panicked.  And that was putting it lightly.
Tech and them didn’t have a perfect relationship, and the two would actively work to make it smoother, and better. Always there for each other, honest, and if one fucked up well... They’d talk about it. Try to fix it to avoid the problem again. Sure both had moments where they didn’t want to be around, but they never lasted this long.
Never this long.
Star had never seen Tech so... Emotionless. So empty, and ready to leave. Tech always needed his space, and it was understood between the two as to why. But never before had the seadweller felt such nothing. Usually... Usually there was SOMETHING! Something to tell them that it was okay. It wasn’t there this time, and the hollow words of; “I need to go for a roll.”, had never been so foreboding. What did they do? What did they say? What did the ANONS do?
It swallowed them up as they watched Tech leave.
Snapping finally, they turn and dash into their room. Quickly messaged that they wouldn’t be able to see Prince, and had Verniais turn of the transportalizers and locations. To make sure people wouldn’t come unwelcomed. They needed to work... Work and make it better. They had clearly upset Tech by offering to help Penumbra! But... They didn’t understand how. But, they did! And they needed to right their wrong. Unbeknowest to HOW was currently holding them back as they sit in the middle of their room. Their mind uncoiling with all the dark fears they keep buried away.
Wand in hand, cauldron cooking, and the temporarily mini snakecat thing in a cage beside them... They lose themselves in the horrid thoughts that churn hungrier then the brew itself.
‘What if the anons make Tech hate me?’ ‘What if he already does?’ ‘What will I do without him?!’
They never noticed the tears that rolled like rovers down their full cheeks, or the blood dripping to meet them at their chin. They didn’t notice their gills uprooting and turning in on themselves as they sob. Teals and blood mixing in with the volatile concoction. Head spinning, they gurgle for air. Begging for their inhaler.
Where was it?  It was just right he--
They never finished the thought, for the world swam before them. And the world crawled to black with a tint of the violet Star hates oh so much... Breath never settling as they rest there. Unknowing to the concerns of the world.

Tech did as they asked.
After they sent a photo of them resting against their moirail, fresh salve rubbed to their gills, and a warm Captor there, they were calm enough now. Easier to talk to, easier to keep themselves calm as they take deep breaths. Heart racing as they think about this.
Their hair was a bedheaded mess, knots and locks and snaps making their nest even worse. Eyes puffy and violet from hours of sobbing, Star looks up to their diamond with a small smile--the first one all day. Fingers trailing over Tech’s chest as their phone get’s forgotten at the side of the tub, shuttering weakly before coughing harshly.
Finally, it was time. Tech couldn’t look at them. Not as he pushes their head under the water, and their airbladders started to work. The sea dweller exclusive lung set starts to spasm. Th already weak organs starting to burn as they thrash in the water. Violet tears starting up again for what must be the bazillionth time that day. Tail thumping wildly as they try to break free of Tech’s hold.
Soon, pink sand was starting to make itself known as it the water makes itself through Stars body. The salve keeping Stars gills from getting ruined, they start to cry loudly in the water. Violet slowly trickling from their sides and neck as they beg to be let out. Not that Tech could understand.
It hurt.  It stung.  It was a long while before finally the pink sand slipped out, and Tech could let them up and out.
Wheezing and crying, they cling to their moirail, whimpering and crying and asking for hugs and love. Just to be held.
It HURT.

The sea dweller sobs as they stare at the once well organized pile of work. The action was more dramatic then it needed to be, but the magic anon was still kicking, and they’d do about anything to keep their mind off it!
But with a rather nasty glare to the laughing jabberwocky of chaos, Star set to work to reorganize the files, fill out what APPARENTLY some had been left empty, and re calibrate the incubators to keep the lifeforms inside well and safe.
But DAMMIT! They had nearly finished!

Star ==> After two weeks, finally head back to the Mothership.
Oh boy was that overly difficult.  And boy was he not ready for any backlash.
Tired, hungry, thirsty and probably down right filthy, the sea dweller finally let’s go of TD long enough to kiss his cheek goodbye and dash off to the transportalizer. They were not sure if they could stay away for long enough, so with pride, they close their eyes during the familiar zap of the technology.
Breathing in deeply, they smile at the dust tickling their nose. This was their ship, within the mothership. They were hive again. With soft breaths, they give tender affection to each of their little friends, checking in on those they can’t touch, before rushing away with a giddy grin.
They were dying to see their moirail.  TD was still heavy on their mind, but first and foremost....
“SOLLUX TECH SUPPORT CAPTOR GUESS WW’O’S MOTHERFUCKIN’ BAAAAACK~!!!”

Star => Don’t panic? Okay fail at that.
Star had, while joking arguing with Tech about the dissecting of his gill--which he had stopped mind you!--when he saw n the dash about TD’s arm. And boy did that sent him off.
The pain that was blaring in his side suddenly turned to nothing but a memory. The screams of the lack of sleep vanished with those simply words.
“Whoever took TD’s arm”. “iim 2o2rry.”
It’s what set it all in stone. Standing up after informing the Empress and Tech, Star was running to his ship to grab things to help the apparent bleeding. Heart sinking the more TD apologizes, yet he holds not a thing against his weak friend. His tired friend.
His hurt friend.
And as he sits there, now holding the bandaged up little psion, he tries to not cry as he just kisses his cheek and repeats that he loves him. It’ll heal. They’ll mourn later.
Such a weak thing... But it’s all Star could offer.
