Eru: Behold, children! I created the first of the Maiar!
Manwë: Oh! How cute!😍 (taps Eönwë's crib)
Eönwë: (starts chirping, full hungry baby bird mode)
Ossë: (starts violently shaking his crib while imitating storm noises)
Mairon: (signature look of superiority)

I feel this is probably an unpopular opinion, but I really do think that before the Ainulindalë, at least, Melkor was Eru's favourite. "To Melkor among the Ainur had been given the greatest gifts of power and knowledge, and he had a share in all the gifts of his brethren." -- he, not Manwë, was meant to be the Elder King. Before the Music, he had free rein to go into the Void, and even after the Music, Eru still let him enter Eä. That strikes me as a great indulgence on his part.

something something Iluvatarism is the doctrine of famine, Eru is the god of starvation, his favourite children are 'slender', they do not need to eat so much or sleep so much, they do not want carnally except in the begetting of children and in that act they must give of themselves to the point of decades long debilitations, they are punished for wanting freedom and are now perpetually starving for the light of Valinor and eventually they will waste away to such a degree that their bodies will become incorporeal and they will never be able to consume again. Humans who follow iluvatarism must try to apply to these entirely unobtainable ideals, their bodies will always want too much and they can never be free of the sin of eating. VERSES Ungoliant and her doctrine of consumption, of being so hungry and having no shame in her eating, wanting to consume beauty and light and all of creation to slake her lust, consuming her mates as well and being a mother of uncountable children who are all also hungry and believe in their right to eat, not evil just simply so antithetical to all Eru cherishes as to be his polar opposite, daughters of the Void, the eternal eater and villainised by Eru's creation of starvation and yet what is truly so evil about them all? Do we not all want to be consumed by the things we love? Is there not a beauty in Ungoliant loving herself to such a degree that in the end even she is consumed? Anyway I'm starting a cult.

BOOM!!!!! SUDDEN OC REF SHEET DROP!!!!!!!!!
Say hi to my beloveds!! Some of them were created around uuuhhh 2012/13 maybe, but they went through drastic redesigns throughout the years (specifically Rose, Polen, Amelie, and Raff + Milo, who didn't change a bit), and some of them are brand new (Eru was my D&D character and Tim was created out of nowhere inspired by my husk redesign lol)
Details under the cut!
They exist in The End Realm - the prison of all the other realms, where all criminals and whatnot go. There were so many people, that The End Realm developed it's own communities, politics, etc. It homes many many different people from every part of the multiverse - Human Realm, Ether Realm, Occult Realm, etc. The leader of The End Realm is Raff (or Armel Howl, as he used to be called), an emotionless demon who controls his subjects with their every step. His servants - Shadows - watch everyone and everything around his isolated castle and the rest of the Realm. He tricks people into making a deal with him and they own him their lives. They get a golden jewel with a red ruby in it that is unbreakable and a swirly tattoo is carved into their skin to showcase, that they belong to him. If a person tries to break the pact, they become one of the Shadows. Tim Baccarat - The only human out of the whole bunch - He/They - Demisexual - 28 y.o - Used to own a casino, now works as Raff's butler, coz he owns him. - Was exiled from the Human Realm for Soul Gambling. - (Inspired by Tim Wright from Marble Hornets, Husk from Hazbin Hotel, and Jeeves from Jeeves and Wooster) ((what a combination)) - Voice Claim: Husk from Hazbin Hotel (Keith David)
Rose Seed - Dark Fae, pretending to be a Love Fae - He/She - Gay - 26 yo - Native to The End Realm. A singer and a performer in general, Raff's assistant. Was found by Raff with a missing wing and made a deal. - (Currently inspired by 10th Doctor from Doctor Who, Angel Dust from Hazbin Hotel, Francœur from Monster in Paris) - Voice Claim (for noooow): Angel Dust from Hazbin Hotel (Blake Roman)
Eru - Aasimar (at least originally) - They/them - Aroace - 38 yo - Used to be a part of a high religious power/church in the Ether Realm, but was exiled due to going against some of their beliefs. Leads a rebellion against Raff. Had a son. - (Inspired by Odysseus and Athena (specifically from EPIC: The Musical), and Queen Angella from She-Ra) - Voice Claim: Odysseus from EPIC: The Musical (Jorge Rivera-Herrans)
Polen - Forest Fae - She/Her - Pansexual, Polyamorous - 35 yo - Native to The End Realm. Eru's right hand in the rebellion. Used to be best friends with Rose, but they stopped talking after he made a deal with Raff. - (Currently inspired by Daisy from The Magnus Archives, Hecate (specifically from Lore Olympus)), ZombieCleo (any Life Series, mostly Last Life though) - Voice Claim (might change): Lizzo, lol
Amelie Fairchild - Succubus - She/They - Lesbian - 32 yo - Raff’s maid. She used to be a high overlord but Raff took over and she signed an unbreakable contract so he doesn’t kill her. Is very in love with Polen. Wants to be a part of the rebellion. Was exiled from the Occult Realm for being weak. - (Currently inspired by The Beast from Beauty and the Beast (I am a horrible person lol), c!Captain Puffy (Dream SMP), and Pearl (Double Life)) - Voice Claim: The Crane Wives (specifically "Curses")
Raff (Previously: Armel Howl) - Demon, used to be a human - He/It - Bisexual - 29 yo (looks like that at least) - Highest overlord of The Realm. Leads an army of shadows, that look over each and every person in his realm. He has eyes everywhere. Was exiled from The Human Realm many many years ago for practicing Dark Magic (creating Shadows). - Voice Claim: MISSIO (Matthew Brue)
Milo Howl - Unknown - He/Him - Unknown - 9 yo - Raff’s son. Powerful being. - Voice Claim: Sushi Saucy

Saeros Rescued.
I am aware that many times many
of you have wondered why is there not enough content of
'definitely' the best ship of The Silmarillion: Eru/Saeros. I do not have the answer, but I have this interesting drawing of that
beautiful moment when Saeros was falling naked to his death,
just to be rescued by Eru himself.
Truly moving.
Let's see what @ambrorussa has managed to do with this prompt XDD
(Second trsb drawing @tolkienrsb !!!)

I realize ive NEVER POSTED ERU HERE so here is my current ttrpg character, Eru. Hes a Druid, was raised by Worg which in this universe are basically just giant, long lived wolves with human level intelligence and speech. He sees himself as a Worg, and was thriving with his family before his parents were killed and his sister taken captive. After a period of darkness and depression the god of the forest reached out to him and he began his life as a druid, and set out on a mission to save his sister and return to protect his forest.
Hes a good boy whos goin through it. He was a pretty well adjusted if a little insecure before his parents deaths, but the trauma of losing them to hunters changed a lot about him. At his core, he is still kind, a bit awkward, and thoughtful. He is skeptical of humanoids, but loyal to those who aid him.
Eru's Toyhouse.

So, this is something i have wanted to talk about for a while now. Not too super serious, but i do genuinely enjoy pondering over Silmarillion as one big metaphor for parent-child relationships. Just a heads-up, i don't consider Fëanor a good father, though i am sure he consciously tried to be one. Also, psychological realities do not always reflects things objectively.
Fëanorians for sure did start several fires, real and metaphorical, but you know what? They didn't start THE fire! It very much was always burning, regardless if the flat world was capable of turning. Ever since Eru failed to adequately parent the Ainur it has been a non-stop familial trauma that somehow transcends worlds and species! Melkor never got any idea of boundaries, never learned to bear frustration, never came to terms with the fact that his exceptional powers will not win his father's acceptance - so of course his destructive behaviour lead to a local apocalypse! The Valar never learned empathy, they came into Arda with a conviction that loving a parent meant being ever afraid, unquestioning, and obedient - so of course when they ended up with elves as their charges and foster children they employed the same formula, they did not know any better! They utterly failed to understand Míriel and wronged her greatly, thus becoming at least partially responsible for Fëanor's fear of inadequacy and of abandonment, suspiciousness, and resentment. Feeling unsafe in Valinor and being jealous of his half-siblings, of course Fëanor ensnared his sons into a web of enmeshment and codependency. He might have been well-meaning, striving to protect them and himself, but all he did was infuse his children with a solemn conviction that the world is unsafe, only Father sees it and knows what's best, everyone else is resentful of him because of this, so supporting Father utterly and without question is existential. So of course the Fëanorians swore their father's Oath! Of couse they swore it again after his death! That was the only thing left of Father, the last connection to him, the last chance to win his approval which is impossible because he is gone. In fact he was already gone even before his body burned away. But to admit this loss is impossibly scary. He will never come, he will never hold them and comfort them and embrace them the way they would like him to, because he has already abandoned them for the silmarils, and ego, and revenge, and grief. This is what Darkness Everlasting is - the existential dread of admitting that Father will never love them again.
That being said, i can only marvel at Celebrimbor, Elrond, and Elros, as they consciously tried to overcome Finwëan trauma and the latter two seem to have succeeded. (I don't think Celebrimbor "failed", after all Sauron's deception was out of his control, and this is Sauron we are talking about.)
Eru has started little fires everywhere. Much they have consumed.
