Martin Glover has a set of his own parameters and they inform his choices of collaboration as one can assume from this weird sentence I typed in here. I mean, him producing Pink Floyd? Sure, he probably always dreamed of this, though The Endless River is not really their album per se. No, the disc serves as the postscript to their career, yet the LP concludes with the tune on the link, where everything fits. We follow the foggy landscapes to reach the oasis in the form of the finale, which might be too close to whatever they did during the late 80's, yet what a song! Sure, this is not one of their best, yet the things just soars in the vein of their classics. Of course, the piece has a bitter-sweet quality now, since this was a celebration of their detente that evaporated later on.

BOTELLA EN EL MAR

Tres piedras unos pocos pinos quemados y una ermita y más arriba el mismo paisaje copiado retoma; tres piedras formando una puerta, enroñecidas, unos pocos pinos quemados, negros y amarillos, y una casilla cúbica encalada; y más arriba una vez y otra y otra el mismo paisaje retoma escalonadamente hasta el horizonte, hasta el cielo que atardece.

Aquí dimos fondo a la nave para empalmar los remos, hacer aguada y dormir. El mar que nos amargó es hondo e inexplorado y despliega una calma infinita. Aquí entre los guijos hallamos una moneda y nos la jugamos a los dados. La ganó el más joven y se perdió.

Embarcamos de nuevo con los remos rotos.

ΜΠΟΤΙΛΙΑ ΣΤΟ ΠΕΛΑΓΟ

Τρεις βράχοι λίγα καμένα πεύκα κι ένα ρημοκλήσι και παραπάνω το ίδιο τοπίο αντιγραμμένο ξαναρχίζει· τρεις βράχοι σε σχήμα πύλης, σκουριασμένοι λίγα καμένα πεύκα, μαύρα και κίτρινα κι ένα τετράγωνο σπιτάκι θαμμένο στον ασβέστη· και παραπάνω ακόμη πολλές φορές το ίδιο τοπίο ξαναρχίζει κλιμακωτά ώς τον ορίζοντα ώς τον ουρανό που βασιλεύει.

Εδώ αράξαμε το καράβι να ματίσουμε τα σπασμένα κουπιά, να πιούμε νερό και να κοιμηθούμε. Η θάλασσα που μας πίκρανε είναι βαθιά κι ανεξερεύνητη και ξεδιπλώνει μιαν απέραντη γαλήνη. Εδώ μέσα στα βότσαλα βρήκαμε ένα νόμισμα και το παίξαμε στα ζάρια. Το κέρδισε ο μικρότερος και χάθηκε.

Ξαναμπαρκάραμε με τα σπασμένα μας κουπιά.
