Buzzwords such as "sustainable", "green", "ecofriendly" and "natural" are common labels of almost everything we consume.

Greenwashing in textiles & fashion is rising, making it difficult for individuals to know whether they are consuming and producing responsibly or just hooked on a misleading marketing.

The most significant loophole in sustainability is its lack of a clear, quantifiable definitions. Terms such as "ethical" or "sustainable" have no meaningful legal significance. This encourages the lack of accountability for brands, labels and manufacturers.

Kalopsia became a Social Enterprise in 2016, after years of striving for social change and improving environmental impact. We decided that we wanted to officially adhere to a higher standard of working. This meant that we could be measured and certified by an external body for both our manufacturing practice and business set-up.

The Wisdom of the Ferns

This oil embodies the complex wisdom of a community of ferns found and ethically sourced by Kari close to her home. This infusion includes: Christmas Fern, Cutleaf Grapefern, Lady Fern, Sensitive Fern, and Royal Fern, all gathered by hand via a ritualistic process. Each specimen of fern was slowly dried on a sacred altar, and then added to blessed organic extra virgin olive oil for a 4-week infusion process. Carefully rotated, mixed, and sung to by channeled songs directed through Kari by the community of ferns, and energy weaved for amplification and harmonization of their magic. This is a potent infusion, with very limited stock. This oil can be used topically or incorporated into spellwork as inspired.

In a ceremonial gathering with the community of fern plant spirits, Kari channeled the wisdom they collectively bring to this infusion, and to those who choose to incorporate it into their lives:
