I've been obsessed with this idea since 2 years ago but never went ahead with it, so ❤️ this for a starter meant for a back-and-forth Q&A thread! (Specify muse/s too if you have a preference)

While I know that I shouldn't apologize for this, I do feel like I'm being more inactive than I would've liked for myself even in these moments where I have free time before the training starts. Know that I love Dain to bits, always have and he's been the reason why I got into Genshin. I love his lore and everything that surrounds him. But many times it can get really dragging when the content in Genshin is lacking for the most part and for a character that has so little about him, the fact that there is so little content to go with as things stand worsens it.
It becomes even harder when there is a newer game that will barely make it to a year soon to compare it with. And no, I won't get into the "Genshin would never" because I find that stupid and it's not the case. But it's the gameplay, the storytelling and a whole list of things that I won't bother to write up here that I discussed in private with friends. As for what the current circumstances go, it's hard to think that H.YV is taking it seriously with this game when, as soon as they finish the main arc of the newest nation, we're jumping from one festival to the next without little regard of the aftermath of the current nation after everything it went through. I don't want Genshin to get suddenly gore-y or anything of the story, but it does get sad when this game story becomes interesting when it gets dark. It has many reasons to be and a select amount of antagonists to make it interesting if it weren't... because they make it laughable at this point, so not-threatening or they pull redeeming qualities out of their behind for marketing purposes. There are many interesting things that could be done in Genshin both from the storytelling and gameplay perspectives, but eventually it's all reduced to this go-happy thing that in essence, feels so forced.
To conclude with this ramble, I just wanted to say that I've been feeling demotivated and it's showing to me, I can't imagine what it'll be to you. Know that I won't stop writing Dain, he's been the muse I've been the most invested in years and it'll continue to stay that way. It's just that... it's being hard in my end and that I'm trying my best to get out of this by thinking new things to address with him. All in all, I hope that the team responsible for Genshin will get their poop together soon and get serious with it.

your thoughts on the cut jackienat scene are everything and it's really nice to see someone else get it. the discourse from the scene has been draining enough because people don't think it was cut for being out of character when that seems to be the case
also, happy belated!
i'm glad to hear that you ( and others ) agree! honestly, i was quite nervous to post my thoughts on the matter in the main tag, considering how crazy fandom spaces can get nowadays, but i felt so strongly about this in particular that i couldn't help it. my main issue with the discussion surrounding this deleted scene is the fact that it feels extremely pointed. for the last few months, jackienat as a romantic relationship and as a platonic pairing has been gaining steady traction ; they've become a staple to most fics as an essential dynamic and something that heavily matters to both characters. besides shaunajackie it's easily the second most popular ship for jackie, and in a way i think that's the problem. ever since gaining more popularity, there's been very odd comments thrown it's way? people taking every given opportunity to claim they don't see the 'jackienat romantic vision' on edits, saying it would never be a thing because of jackie's one slut shaming comment about natalie, etc etc. before this deleted scene dropped there clearly were handfuls of people who would do anything to tear this dynamic down and then they finally got the biggest chance to do so ... and they did! i've seen people call jackienat's whole dynamic 'completely fanon', people saying this was a satisfying scene to them because of jackienat shippers disliking shaunajackie, and excuses after excuses as to why this scene is, in fact, canon and why it works. overall it was just saddening to see? just feels like a good majority of yellowjackets fans see jackie as shauna's property rather than a fictional character people can do whatever with, so the idea of her having a relationship with natalie quickly became this threat that they had to belittle and claim as ooc at every given opportunity. which is weird! considering shauna has so many other ships that don't include jackie at all. it's also a little amusing since a good chunk of these people happen to ship shaunanat, most of them quickly rallying behind the 'nat pointing a gun at a pregnant shauna' scene as shipping fodder. don't think i've seen anyone saying 'oh shaunanats lost with this one' despite the heap of comments saying this for jackienat.
point is : i find the intent behind people's talk for this scene to be rather weird more than i find the scene itself to be sad or despairing. simply because it is just not canon. when scenes are cut for time, they've usually been filmed first -- considering that said scenes made it into the final, 100% solid script. this is true for the shauna and adam bdsm scene because we've seen clips of that in the actual show, meaning they filmed it and just cut it for time. same thing with a lot of s2's cut for time scenes! lots of the actresses and actors said these moments had been filmed but just didn't make the final cut. to me this signifies a time issue to some degree, especially given how long some of these scenes would've been! but the jackienat thing would've been a couple seconds tops? it was nothing more than jackie sitting outside and then the two of them passing her all while nat gives her a scathing, hateful look. considering we see shots of jackie sitting by herself with the cabin's front door in view, this would've been fairly easy to accomplish! i don't think people get that, per se. which to me signifies it was cut from the script before they started filming, or that by the time they got to the finale they saw this as ooc. idk. it just doesn't make sense for this to be cut for 'time issues' like the way some people are trying to argue. and even if this was the case, it proves that the writers deemed this moment as something unimportant enough to not include.
also, i don't see why this is the be all end all of jackienat either. is it bad to say this scene would've made me like them more? picturing this scene as canon and then having to watch natalie's anguish in s2 ep3 makes her guilt all the more agonizing to me, honestly. it was already such a hard hitting scene : seeing nat treat jackie's remains with respect, to see her shed her walls and be vulnerable with someone she didn't know well but cared for, and to get a peek into the fact she feels so guilty because, naturally, natalie sees this as her fault. they ate jackie because she couldn't find food fast enough. they killed her because she hadn't been there. these are things nat doesn't need to feel guilt and shame over, because jackie wasn't her responsibility or her friend, but she feels them anyway and she feels them intensely. now imagining this scene in a world where the deleted part was canon? awful! those emotions would've been way more heightened, all those personal blames would've had a fraction of truth to them, and natalie would be forced to acknowledge that when someone needed her help, she had just left them behind in the cold. something which would also intensify the pain of her watching javi drown in freezing water all while crying out to her ... a moment which she'd be wearing jackie's necklace. also, i'd find it kind of interesting that it'd be implied natalie has all these complexities and personal hatred over letting jackie taylor die just like shauna. they'd be the two who take her passing the hardest, the ones who blame themselves more than anyone else. to me that's just gayer than what we got canonically lol. but in turn, i think this could've been another reason why it was cut? this guilt and shame and hate was something reserved for shauna alone, because it's so pivotal to her character and growth, to the point that the writers couldn't let anyone really share that same feeling. it would've taken away from shaunajackie, i think, and what makes them special. if natalie genuinely had walked past jackie out of hate only for her to die the next morning, i believe we would've seen this guilt permanently etched into her character from the beginning. people forget just how quickly nat is to blame herself for things! and be very obvious about that blame! just feels like we would've known if natalie had left jackie out there on purpose, which isn't something we know at all in regards to the actual show.
anyway! i've rambled on quite enough. to me, this scene isn't that bad at all, and i don't think this takes away from the potential of jackienat whatsoever. there's really no evidence that it does! even in the worst case scenario of this scene being canon, it just makes the dynamic much more tragic, which fans eat up on this show. and at the end of the day i wouldn't give the discussions much attention, considering most peoples reasons for wanting this scene to be canon are very petty.
#my posts.#asks.#yellowjackets#at this point a lot of people have talked about how this is ooc for the show's nat so i didn't talk about that much!#but like i definitely agree. just didn't feel like i had more to bring to the table with that so i talked about other things on my mind#like in general i think the idea that nat would parallel shauna when it comes to jackie taylor is INSANE#and feels more like a win to jackienats then it feels like a loss#is it ooc for our nat? yes. would it have been heart wrenching to see nat's reaction after? also yes.#just because i think she would've brought jackie in doesn't mean i don't like the idea of this scene. even if just a little bit#but due to how ooc it feels and how some people are acting about this scene i just. am not fucking with it super hard#it just feels like some people need everyone to hate jackie besides shauna? like this is something they need to be canon#which rubs me the wrong way and makes me more of a jackienat defender than i initially was#at the end of the day : if natalie forgave and loved the girls after doomcoming? she would've done the same with jackie but faster#these girls loved each other and it was awful and that's kinda it#jackie wasn't some special exception where everyone hated her 24/7 and hated her pre-crash and just always hated her#for one its so unrealistic and for two this goes against the themes of intense female friendships and how shaky they can be#jackie wasn't always hated but they turned on her quick for silly ridiculous things#its just how teenagers are#and idk jackienat's whole thing of 'oh we could've been best friends in a kinder world during a better time' devestates me#out of all the girls there the one who would've understood jackie best would've been nat#just like how the same is true the other way around! they really could've understood each other#could've been there for each other and provided and loved but they didn't. and now they wont ever get the chance to#anyway!!! i hope this makes sense im tired but yeah <3 thanks sm for the birthday wishes and for this ask!!!#it was fun to revisit this so soon haha so thanks sm have an amazing day!

young justice roadtrippppppppp 👀👀👀👀
ok so young justice roadtrip au is so near and dear to me its. so slow going she does NOT want to be written. this shant stop me tho. the basic premise is: young justice were being santa for THREE MONTHS so like what if there were shenanigans. and a dubiously sapient Creature hunting them.
context for this snippet is that it was directly inspired by trying to talk to my mom (proud tesla owner) about elon musk. like tfw youre talking to a genuinely intelligent person that you like and respect and they are spouting the most ridiculous bullshit youve heard in your life except all parties are full of nonsense and hot air because everything the public knows about bruce wayne is a lie
Cassie is looking at him like he’s stupid or something, and he’s seriously debating putting his hand over her face. He should not have brought up Bruce Wayne’s new girlfriend, but they were running out of conversation topics fast and he thinks if he has to sit in silence with his thoughts and let it all sink in he may just die right here on the spot. They’re really doing this. This, of course, being becoming Santa. Who is not only real! But dead! Cool. Great. Cassie’s staring at him. She probably expects a response but he has not been listening. “Hey, Babe, I’m just sayin'— he doesn’t need to creep after those little kids! He’s got a different chick for every day of the week!” Kon grins winningly. Okay! Okay! and now listen to what she says instead of thinking about— “Kon!” Oh god. Cissie’s literally in the front. She’s shouting over Tim! Why! It’s not that big a deal! “In what world does that make it better! He has that much sex and there’s not even one rumor about how big his dick is? That’s so suspicious! He’s totally drugging them.” Kon is going to kill himself.

I managed to get my coffee machine to semi-work, I just had my first cup of coffee in what feels like over a week now, and I feel like I'm reborn as an individual. I know this sounds dramatic, but I promise you it's not. If you know, you'll understand me on so many levels.

I find it dumb how, with the fake Landon stuff in season 3, the writers were giving us these reasons why golem Landon and Malilandon couldn’t be the real Landon because of certain things they did, but then they had the real Landon later doing some of the same things, essentially.
Like they made such a big deal over golem Landon stabbing Hope because Landon would never hurt Hope. Which, first of all, their reasoning with that whole thing and using that to claim it wasn’t Landon was also dumb because the context of the situation was completely ignored. Yes, of course Landon would never hurt Hope, but her life was at risk. Golem Landon literally had to stab her to save her. Yeah there was a small possibility that it wouldn’t work and she’d die and become the tribrid, but the other alternative was that she’d turn into some other creature forever. So there really wasn’t a choice but to stab her when it was the only way to save her, and I do think the real Landon would’ve done the same thing, he’d be hurting Hope more if he didn’t. Landon would never hurt Hope, unless it was absolutely necessary to save her life. But then they did actually have the real Landon hurting Hope later unnecessarily when he stabbed her in limbo. The writers tried to make it seem like it was necessary in order to send Hope back to the real world, but it really wasn’t. Because we saw Hope leave limbo back in 4x04 after she’d died and was transitioning, and all she had to do to go back to the real world was jump in the lake. So Landon literally didn’t have to stab her in 4x17, but according to the writers and their logic with golem Landon back in 3x11, it shouldn’t even matter whether it was necessary or not anyway. Because according to them, Landon would never hurt Hope, period. Even if it was to save her life, I guess. So they wrote him out of character according to their own logic too.
Then there was the whole thing with Malivore pretending to be Landon, and giving up on being with Hope and saying they were doomed. And the writers saying the real Landon would never do that, which I totally agree with of course. But then they did have Landon basically doing that at the end of the show, with him giving up on having a future with Hope by giving up on escaping limbo and instead choosing to stay there forever by becoming the ferryman. They had him not only give up on being able to be with Hope in the real world, but also even in peace, after whenever Hope dies. Which is far worse than what we believed he was doing when it was Malilandon imo. And how was all the crap they had Landon saying about his and Hope’s fates (in 4x17) different from Malilandon saying they were doomed? The way Malilandon did it was obviously very harsh, but they both still amount to the same thing. Landon was still essentially saying that he and Hope were doomed and couldn’t be together and that they should just accept it. Like between that whole thing with Malilandon and how Landon was written at the end of season 4, if I had to choose which was less ooc for Landon, I’d honestly choose the writing for Malilandon. NOT including him breaking up with Hope and how he treated her in that scene. But apart from that, the idea of Landon being angry (especially after what he’d gone through in the prison world and being traumatized) and feeling like he and Hope were doomed because of Malivore and him setting aside their relationship while he goes to try to defeat Malivore so Hope wouldn’t have to become the tribrid and they could be together (which is what we were led to believe before we knew it was Malivore) is closer to something Landon would do than what he did at the end of season 4. Landon would take action to try to be with Hope again, but at the end of season 4, they just had him submitting to everything that they were up against. There’s no way the real Landon would have ever made the choices he made in limbo at the end. And the writers themselves made that clear with their previous writing and then went on to contradict themselves, practically confirming that they were writing Landon ooc. Which isn’t anything new since they contradicted themselves all throughout the show, but still.
It’s just crazy how much they didn’t really understand Landon’s character, or they just didn’t care in the end. As long as it supported their bizarre narrative, they had Landon acting however they felt like, regardless of whether he was in character or not. And it’s also just annoying how, with golem Landon and Malilandon, the writing gave the sense of “Hope should’ve known it wasn’t Landon, the audience should’ve known, because of these reasons, because the real Landon would never do those things,” then they have the real Landon doing some of those things later but it’s fine? So in season 3 we should’ve known Landon’s character better, Hope should’ve known, and whether or not he was in character mattered then. But then in season 4 it didn’t matter, we were just expected to go along with how ooc Landon was and not question any of it? And they had Hope just going along with it too and accepting all of it and Landon’s supposed feelings as truth, even when he was acting more strange than the fake Landons? And after she was criticized for not knowing Landon better in season 3? If she and the fans were supposed to suspect things weren’t right in season 3, shouldn’t we have definitely suspected things weren’t right in season 4 with how they wrote Landon? Hope would’ve known that Landon never would’ve wanted to stay trapped in limbo, she never would’ve believed that he was okay with it. And honestly, if we hadn’t known for sure that it was the real Landon in limbo, I would’ve been theorizing that it wasn’t really him again. But we were just supposed to accept the ooc writing that time. It was such a joke, it was all just about whatever narrative the writers wanted, not the characters or consistency or logic.
