i'm sorry but this is sending me into the goddamn stratosphere, if you send people to physically attack my mom, torture my sister, cut my six year old son's head off, threaten to murder my toddler, and then also threaten to rape my six year old daughter, i would be very happy and jovial in declaring war on your psycho ass for pulling that shit on people who literally didn't do a thing to you.
consequently, if i sent people to physically attack someone who never did me any harm, torture my sister who never did me any harm, cut my six year old nephew who never did me any harm's head off, threaten to murder my toddler nephew who never did me any harm, and also threaten to rape my six year old niece who never did me any harm, i would be very full of regret and sorrow for what i've done, because those are bad things that i did.

And here is the bull himself >:)
+ lore notes
I was like, ah I should make the shadow something interesting, and then I'm like GIVE HIM BULL HORNS???? OKAY SURE !!!!! I'm glad such thoughts can strike at 7 in the morning....thanks brain. But hehehe I'm glad bcs now this matches up super well with the Nando one!
New ship dynamic: who's the bull and who's the matador :)
I think, in this AU, Fernando is generally pretty fond of Seb when he first meets him. Like "ah yes my very own protégé, very nice, I shall mold him in my image." But then Seb starts veering off that course. Bullfighting is all about being dramatic, but Seb maybe has a bit too much(🤏) flair for the dramatic. This escalation starts while he's still Fernando's assistant but he keeps it generally at bay. But god when he becomes a matador himself, he's just off the rails insane.
Bullfighting, to me, is a sport about reckless endangerment of one's self in the pursuit of drama and performance(its literally described as a tragedy in three acts.) But Fernando thinks Seb endangers himself *too* much, not because he cares or anything, but he's making a mockery of the sport!! Especially when Seb starts doing that bull hand symbol(seen above), Fernando just keeps become more enraged with him, not anything to do with the fact that Seb is threatening his records and threatening his own wellbeing, nah of course not.
Seb's gesture is making a mockery of the sport, he's disrespecting the culture, the very nature of it, blah blah blah. Jenson once asks Fernando, after noticing him seething while watching Seb do his gesture, "Which bull are you really trying to defeat?" One could also describe Fernando and Seb's relationship as a "tragedy with three acts."
Anyways Fernando gets very tied up with this rivalry. Even after suffering a severe injury(I have yet to decide, but y'know mchonda electrocution core), he quickly returns to the sport, loath to let Seb get any more headway. And then Seb gets injured, poor little sweet Seb, and neither of them can handle it. Though I already covered this in my prev lore post 🤭 and I think I put it pretty viscerally there so!! I digress.
They're both matadors, but the bull itself is not the only bull Fernando wants to conquer. Conquer as in death? Hm.

it’s been weeks since i started obsessing over the filming locations of the series trying to figure out if the Theerapanyakul mansion is in fact a hotel or a mix of more locations like hotels + luxury apartments and whatnot and i don’t know maybe someone got there first maybe everyone already know but i didn’t until today so i went all out cosplaying kim trying to find the location wandering around bangkok with google maps like a real pro kim would be so proud
so,,, we all already knew from the trailer that the mansion should be located in front of the Deutsche Bank building but i didn’t think that the sets for the mansion would be there as well i kinda took for granted that they would take outdoor footage and then they would be filming elsewhere mostly because of budget
then in episode 5 while kinn and his father are playing chess we get to see a different building on the background that is the Mahatun Plaza and in the picture below you can see both the Mahatun Plaza and the Deutsche Bank building in the background while the pool is the same pool where we got mermaid!porsche and the doors on the sides are located where we see arm, pol, pete and porsche coming back home after the nights out with Tankhun and where in episode 5 we see porsche coming back home and finding kinn in the lounge asleep
watching that second building with its name right on the front i finally decided to go on my little quest on google maps trying find where they filmed AND I ACTUALLY FOUND IT! it’s a hotel and it’s called Rosewood Bangkok and i actually got that it’s the one because when you search for it on google images the first picture that appears is the one with the pool from this scene with tankhun and you can even see the Deutsche Bank building in the backgroud as well in both pictures
i later went on the hotel’s website as one does (also because i wanted to know how much booking a room would cost but unfortunately you can’t make reservations at the moment) and i found some other pictures of the places we’ve already seen in the episodes aired so far
EXHIBIT A: the entrance we see at the very beginning of the series that is the same as we see in episode 2 when porsche has his elegant catwalk
EXHIBIT B: the infamous lounge that we see while the two families are having their meeting (and it is the same that we see in episode 1 when kinn comes back home after failing to get porsche to accept the job and he finds his father and chan playing chess)
EXHIBIT C: this some sort of bar/private lounge where in episode 2 chan reports back about porsche failing the tests to kinn
also on the website you can actually virtually walk in the rooms and there’s a virtual tour for kinn’s suite too which is more like an apartment and we have:
the lounge/living room that we see in episode 1 when kinn says to porsche ‘your life is mine now’ for the first time and behind there’s the couch where in episode 2 when kinn’s reading that book about coffee and tankhun asks him to switch bodyguards
the bathtub scene in episode 3 when kinn rejects the company of his friend because he’s still thinking about what happened to porsche when he was shot
the infamous condom+lube scene in episode 4 when we see kinn’s bedroom
the aftermath of the kiss in episode 4
and finally the scene in episode 5 when porsche asks permission to go with thankun to kinn
(also lol i think i’m pretty certain that kinn’s apartment in the mansion is the same as So from Our Days for those who are watching)
i can’t find more pictures of the inside of the hotel so i don’t know if the bit where we see the elevator is in this hotel or if it is another location but i’m pretty sure it’s all in there + i don’t think that the zone of the mansion where’s the koi pond is in the same hotel but it could be i guess
lol i’ll leave the link to the visual tour of kinn’s room if anyone’s interested: https://www.rosewoodhotels.com/en/bangkok/accommodation/houses/bannakarn-house

Taking aside whether everything we've seen is fully true or not (though I subtly doubt that since the writers have mentioned they will revisit a lot of the previous past scenes in season 2), the way Louis narrates is limiting on its own for both Lestat and Claudia. Omitting entire years' worth of time and only giving Daniel (and us) the barebones information through vital moments still leaves me with a lot of questions regarding Claudia in particular. Because sure, Daniel HAS the diaries, but who's to say they haven't been tampered with more than Louis even lets on? And specifically, when it comes to the 10 years overall after Claudia comes back, we see no diary in Daniel's vicinity. The only time we do see some is at the end of episode 7, of which one contains Lestat's final words, the other is about their trip to Europe after the murder. That leaves us with only Louis as the main source of information for this time period, but Louis isn't above solely giving Daniel scenarios in order to place Claudia or Lestat in specific roles through how he experienced them in the past.
Case in point, episode 6 has no killings from Claudia. We don't see her hunt, not even to go after a man or stalk him, we definitely don't see her kill, despite all episodes before or after that containing some explicit killings with her. I say this because to Louis, Claudia was his nurse/knight/protector/sister during this particular period of time. And even subconsciously, he ends up painting her as such to the point where we also don't even get much information about Claudia and how she even traveled in episode 5? We only get one piece of information about it with the train scene, but we still get absolutely nothing about how: 1) she even came to reading about vampires, 2) how she managed during her 7 years alone, 3) any basic information about her plans beyond her catching a train for going outside of New Orleans, or even about how she learned languages. The only information we even get specifically is regarding her horrible encounter with Bruce, but again, this later ends up serving more as an apparent parallel to Louis' later situation with Lestat than it is even about Claudia, who suffered through an assault.
I would also argue the same thing in regards to the 6 years they spent alone together, as well. Louis wants Daniel to think of Claudia in a better light, he makes her out to be his savior and the only person that seems to want better for him, yet at the same time leaves out any further details about the years they lived with each other (and not with Lestat) in Rue Royale after he recuperated? Why? And this isn't even to argue that Claudia may not have been as perfect, rather that Louis cuts out so much context as to how they were like with each other after she came back that I end up getting only so much information about Claudia solely when it comes to how it affected or was connected to Louis.
Louis is telling the story here, and even with Claudia's diaries (which Daniel now knows Louis has tampered with), we only end up seeing what Louis wants us to see. This is why I hope season 2 changes some of this because I would really like to just know more about Claudia and her own feelings regarding all the later situations with her and Louis.
