So Derision Broke Me…
Derision (Miraculous S5E14) made some choices that fundamentally broke Marinette’s character for me to the point where I’m having trouble motivating myself to keep writing for this fandom. I figured I’d write down my thoughts and see if that helped me get into a headspace where I can ignore this episode like I do any other writing choices I’m not fond of. If anyone has some words of wisdom, I'd love to hear them.
In Derision, we learn that Marinette has some serious trauma surrounding love. When she was 13, she confessed her love to Kim and was rewarded with a box full of spiders. This “prank” understandably left her traumatized and shaken to her core. In response to that trauma, she vowed to never confess her love to another boy. Not unless she knew everything about him.
This “prank” and several others are revealed to be the fault of Chloé. As for why she’s doing this, well, we’re never given a reason why Marinette is the target. However, we are told the motivation for Chloé’s actions. Rose blames them on the fact that Chloé was abandoned by her mother. Mylène responds to this observation by pointing out that she was also abandoned by her mother, but that didn’t turn her into a bully! Which is a fair point. People react differently to trauma and trauma doesn’t justify bad behavior or undo the effects of those bad behaviors. At the most, trauma explains why the behavior is happening. A lesson that Miraculous has given us before.
In the character Félix’s titular episode, Félix shows up and starts treating Adrien poorly. This leads to this exchange between Adrien and Plagg:
Plagg: What's up with that cousin of yours? First, he searches through your things, and then, the most unforgivable thing of all, he squashes my hunk of goat's cheese under your pillow! I'd been maturing that baby for two weeks! Do you realize? Two whole weeks! Adrien: Listen, Plagg. Félix lost his dad not so long ago, he's probably not himself. Plagg: I'm sorry, but there's just no excuse! You never touch my cheese, and yet, you just lost your mother not so long ago, right?
And, once again, this is a fair observation! The fact that Félix’s father died does not justify Felix trying to ruin Adrien’s life. All it does is explain his motivation.
Trauma does not excuse hurting others. When trauma has negative effects on us, it’s up to us to work through those feelings either on our own or, ideally, with the help of loved ones and therapists. We are never justified in lashing out at innocents who had nothing to do with our trauma.
This brings us to the topic of Marinette.
The fact that Marinette has trauma around romance does not justify her treatment of Adrien. Breaking into his home, trying to sabotage his relationship with Kagami, and all of her other obsessive behaviors are not okay just because she was traumatized by Kim. If Chloe and Felix are not excused by their trauma, then neither is she.
So why am I only bothered by this now?
Because, before this episode, Marinette’s behavior was very clearly a joke. It was, in my opinion, a bad joke, but it was a joke and, when it comes to writing, jokes have to be looked at differently than things that are played straight.
Miraculous relies heavily on absurdist humor. That’s why you’ve got an episode where Adrien and his teenage friends throw an unchaperoned party attended by a bunch of random adults. A thing that would be horrifying and upsetting in reality, but is fine in the show because it’s clearly played as being ridiculous and over the top. I mean, just look at this scene. Anyone taking this seriously has clearly lost the plot.
Tumblr media
Marinette’s obsession fell under the same category. Something that would be very wrong in reality, but was obviously being played up for laughs. I was always under the impression that, without the absurdist humor, she’d be significantly toned down and that’s why I just sort of tolerated it in the show. Not my idea of a good joke, but clearly a joke so meh. I can overlook it while watching the show and, when writing her, I can be true to her character while not including this level of obsession because I don’t write crack fic.
Derision changed that. It took 4.5 seasons of questionable jokes and tried to justify them. And that? That is a terrible idea. Because there is no justification for Marinette’s behavior just like there is no justification for Chloe’s behavior in the exact same episode. What they’re doing is wrong and, at best, their trauma explains their behavior. It does not justify it.
Plus, hey, remember how Derision said Kim was a terrible person for laughing at Marinette’s trauma? Isn’t that the exact same thing that we’ve all unknowingly been doing for 4.5 seasons? Kinda makes it hard to rewatch old episodes where her crush was played for laughs, doesn’t it? I hope you’ve never laughed over Marinette’s behavior because, if you have, you’ve been making fun of her trauma and so have the writers.
And that sums up why this episode really bothers me. I either have to ignore a character’s trauma or I have to accept that her trauma has apparently made her unhinged and address it. Because if her behavior is not a bad joke, then the salters are right and Marinette is a total creep. I’m trying my hardest to choose option one, but I’m struggling.
It’s not that Marinette is the only character with questionable behavior. Adrien as Chat Noir is often written as overly persistent and obnoxious when it comes to his crush. It’s not great behavior, but it’s not a consistent characterization nor is it a major flaw. I can fix it with a quick character arc about boundaries or ignore it and (in my head) say that arc happened off screen because I have no doubt that this sort of common teenage issue could be overcome with relative ease. Because when Chat Noir is put in a situation where he could clearly violate Ladybug’s boundaries? He doesn’t. He is, ultimately, respectful. He just needs to be told that respect is more than listening to the explicit “no”.
Deep-seated trauma that leads to stalking? That’s not a minor flaw. It’s a major issue that reveals the need for psychological intervention. I’m not gonna give that to a teenager and fix it with the power of friendship and communication. Nor will I give the stalker her prize. I’m gonna keep him safe because, if Marinette has this level of romance-based trauma, then she is not mentally well enough to be a relationship with someone.
You see, I’ve had people with obsessive crushes who violated my boundaries. A loved one of mine had to get the police involved because of someone’s crush on them. Stalking and obsessive behavior is not a joke. It’s traumatizing, but even though I have that trauma, Miraculous never bothered me because of how the stalking was played as a joke.
Joke's over, though. As of Derision, we are supposed to take Marinette's behavior at face value.
So, yeah. I don’t know where I go from here. It’s been a week and I just have no desire to ever touch Marinette again. If anyone has some words of advice, I’d love to hear them. And I’m sorry, but it may be a while before anything of mine updates.

Can you recommend angsty fics which don't revolve around the main duo?
Hope you like these! I avoided fics that revolved around either Marinette or Adrien.

Can’t Sleep Either, Huh? by EmeraldButterfly
Chloe gets up late at night. Turns out she’s not the only one who’s worried about Pollen. (AU where former Miraculous holders have an empathetic link with their kwamis)
This is a very interesting AU. Chloe and Zoe are both able to feel Pollen’s emotions and even things like her hunger, and end up taking solace in each other to try and cope. It’s just really sweet.

oh, no, not again by @bittersweetresilience
Félix doesn’t want to broach the subject, but he won’t be able to after they leave.
So this is a glimpse into a time-travel fix-it story, with various wielders being sent back into their younger selves. But Felix doesn’t think he’ll be helpful, because well… his backstory. He would be unable to step out of line. It’s pretty angsty and I love Chat’s reaction to learning about how bad Felix had it.

Changeling by @unecoccinellenoire
Gabriel makes the Wish believing that he regretted everything with Adrien. The results suggest that he in fact regrets Adrien
So this is interesting. It’s giving a glimpse into a universe where Gabriel and Emilie never found the Peacock Miraculous, and they (along with Amelie and Colt) just adopted. Which unfortunately meant that Adrien and Felix as we know them never existed, and Gabriel finds that he misses his original son, which is especially acute when interacting with his new adopted son and knowing how much he’s NOT Adrien.

Late Bloomer by @generalluxun
On what might very well be the last night of her life, Sabrina Raincomprix pulls out a very special scrapbook, pressed between the pages is the past, the past she has never shared with anyone. She relives how she got to this moment one page at a time, preparing herself for the end. A phone call interrupts her self-imposed exile and brings news that could change her life forever. Even if it does though the question looms… change it how?
Sabrina-centric Hanahaki AU here! I love how it goes into Sabrina’s relationship with Chloe over the years, the good and the bad - and even what happens post Revolution.
I love the description of some of the plants involved, and what they mean, what they represent. If you want a fic that delves more in Sabrina’s character and her relationship with Chloe, this is a solid choice.

Spread Your Wings by @myladynoire
Set before the Finale. Félix uses his Kwagatama to summon his father’s memory and has a talk with him.
I love Colt’s characterization here, how we see his mindset, his beliefs, and even what made him the way he is. We have a limited amount of knowledge about him in canon, only having the play Felix and Kagami put on to go off of, but myladynoire made good use of it! I’m glad Felix got some closure here as well.

Eat, Pray, Duck by @trishacollins
Gabriel Agreste split his twin sons apart when his wife died, keeping one with him and sending one to London with his sister. Unfortunately, the Supreme was not willing to let this be. He wanted a matched set. Felix is a weapon, a servant of the Supreme. On a mission to retrieve the stolen Miraculous. In a world that has outlawed kindness, sometimes the most dangerous person is the one who chooses it anyway.
I love this glimpse at what might have been going on with Felix back in Shadybug and Claw Noir’s world, I did wonder what might have been going on with him. Poor kid, he managed to have it even worse than he did in canon. I really loved seeing his interactions with Luka, the Couffaines rebel through kindness it seems!
---
Trapped by @consistent-chaos-corporation
Felix asks to visit Adrien as soon as his father is gone. Gabriel catches him snooping, looking for Adrien’s Amok. Everything gets worse from there.
Damn, poor Felix. He came to try and help Adrien, but instead Gabriel stole his Amok, forcing him to obey his commands, holding him prisoner in his basement for months. If you want some quality Felix whump, this is the fic for you!

Justifying the Means by @ashes-555
When the worst happens, Alya finds that she may be willing to do the unthinkable. Is any sacrifice to big to make for her friends?
Once again, Ashes comes out swinging with an Alya focused fic!
Basically, there’s a major, destructive akuma attack. During it, Ladybug orders Chat to cataclysm a building in order to stop from being trapped. Unfortunately the building collapses, injuring or killing a lot of people - unbeknownst to her, including Chat Noir. Gabriel releases the akuma, which means she has no way of fixing the damage, either.
A lot of of focus is placed on Alya and Nino worrying over Adrien, who was found in the wreckage barely clinging to life, in a coma, with the doctors unsure whether he’d make it. Shadow Moth takes advantage of their distress to make an offer: if he gets the Ladybug and Black Cat Miraculouses, he can make a Wish to fix everything, including saving Adrien. With as dark a place as Alya and Nino are in, they seriously consider it. Especially with how unhappy both of them are with Chat Noir supposedly “abandoning” Ladybug and Paris as a whole, and Nino being angry with Ladybug for failing (since Alya knows that Marinette is Ladybug, she’s far more understanding on that front).
I love how much credence Alya’s thought and emotions are given here, and that she doesn’t go for the more drastic option right away, either - she talks with Ladybug about it first, tries to do it her way. She understands the costs, but... her friends are important to her, and she’s desperate. I think this was a really good way to present a more antagonistic sort of Alya. She’s still very much herself here, and still considers Marinette her friend, willing to do things her way to an extent, and understanding why Marinette doesn’t want to use the Wish, even though she disagrees with her. Alya’s mindset, her emotions, her problems, are given respect and credence by the narrative. She’s still willing to talk things out, she’s still sympathetic to Marinette and the enormous trauma and guilt she’s going through, she just disagrees with Marinette’s approach. She wants her friend back.
If you want a fic that has some solid focus on Alya as a person, on her emotional struggles and mindset and just... dealing with things, I highly recommend checking out “Justifying the Means”.

I Won’t Let You by @generalluxun
After Gabriel’s defeat, two individuals not party to the celebration run into each other, and find each other.
The summary doesn’t give much of an idea of what the fic’s about. Post-Hawkmoth Defeat, Chloe and Felix run into each other at the celebration of Gabriel’s downfall, and vent about their problems. Neither of them think the other one has it too bad - Chloe’s worried about disappearing, since her worth was entirely tied to her family’s prestige and wealth, and being seen as friends to a terrorist is gonna cripple both of those, while Felix is on edge about Ladybug having the Peacock Miraculous, since she has the ability to kill him at a moment’s notice (yes this is a Sentifelix fic).
They both make each other understand the turmoil the other is going through in extremely visceral ways, showing the other what it’s like to be them, in the circumstances they’re in. I don’t want to spoil what, exactly, they do, but needless to say, it’s worth a read.

more soulmate au meta for i always have a soulmate au brain
watership down
the reason i wanted to do a nonlinear narrative was threefold. first, it reflects the tangle of amélie's psychology and the memories that have shaped her over the years. second, it allows for more parallels and foreshadowing, and for tension to rise and fall across scenes without being constrained by the timeline. third, it rules.
from the first chapter, i headcanon félix as left handed, so when he uses his right hand to enact violence on himself, it's really his father's.
amélie and félix are both victims. of abuse, of lack of knowledge, of lack of agency. but i'm just getting started with the relationships in this complicated family tree.
i named the fic after watership down, the book about rabbits, because this is a story about rabbits, and running, and family. amélie reads this book in chapter two. she's on chapter six, where dandelion tells a story.
All the world will be your enemy, Prince with a Thousand Enemies, and whenever they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you, digger, listener, runner, prince with the swift warning. Be cunning and full of tricks and your people shall never be destroyed.
félix will remember this story.
onto the family reunion! félix calls émilie tante because she married into france. adrien calls amélie tante because it doesn't occur to him that he should speak english. all four of them were raised multilingual, so it doesn't matter anyway.
émilie prefers nicknames like love and darling while amélie goes for sweetie because émilie focuses on what the target of her affections means to her and amélie focuses on what they are like.
the books amélie references in chapter three are wuthering heights, don quixote, and to the lighthouse. unlike félix and adrien, she and émilie are used to speaking aloud.
No secrets between soulmates, right? That’s what Maman always said.
adrien says this in dead air.
We’re soulmates. No secrets between us.
and émilie says it here. of course, we know how that turns out for both pairs of twins. except félix and adrien's communication fails because they are kids in bad situations, and for amélie and émilie, well. they're different people, and the mistakes add up over the years.
now for the heavy-handed foreshadowing! we can see the seeds of the future from the beginning, with émilie's interest in dolls and archaeology. and amélie being an aromantic queen. amélie is willing to go with émilie, even if she doesn't know where they're going. and émilie is more concerned with her desire for freedom than with the consequences for other people, well practiced in getting away.
but of course the discussion of birds and eggs has everything to do with what we know is going to happen. émilie loves her sister, and ultimately she is a person who does messy, reckless things in the name of love. even if the bird will die, she gives the egg to amélie as a gift because it's pretty.
You’re a gift, Félix.
from orbital departure. speaks for itself, i think.
in the last chapter, amélie mentioned émilie's smile used to comfort her. here we see it happening. did i mention i love nonlinear narratives? for now they are just kids, and amélie is enough to keep émilie from her choices.
She turns back toward Amélie, and the featherlike shadows on her face recede.
but the future will come, and the worst of its consequences we've already seen.
finally, the entire waterside scene was a reference to félix's story in garden of dreams. perhaps amélie told him about this day, and let it become part of his weave.

Also there's something I can't stop thinking about in regards to Emotion and Pretention.
"My father was a thousand times worse," he tells Kagami. In what ways? Tomoe has been so strict on her daughter that she doesn't even feel she needs the magical ring to control her. She's trying to teach her that any emotion is a weakness, and force her into a relationship with someone who doesn't love her back, even though it hurts her. That's...already pretty bad.
And looking back at what Félix says in Emotion doesn't paint a pretty picture of his past. His response to Marinette saying everyone's looking at her like she's a monster?
"Look closer. They're the monsters."
His motive behind wanting to make a wish? To create "a better world, a free world. Where no one will be under anyone's control anymore, where no one will be excluded like I was!"
It sounds like, in addition to being controlled with his amok, he was excluded by other people because of it. Remember, the specific people he wants to be not under anyone's control anymore are Adrien and Kagami, likely also sentimonsters. Thus, we could rephrase his world to get "No sentimonster will be controlled or excluded the way I was."
People call him a monster a lot in the two episodes, actually. Kagami calls him one for making everyone she loved vanish. It gets turned around on Gabriel and "them all" by Amelie at the end of Emotion, similarly to Félix's response to Marinette earlier. In Pretention, he's called a monster repeatedly by Tomoe for getting in the way of her controlling her daughter. And by this episode, he's decided to tell Kagami not to use the word "sentimonster" anymore.
The readiness that he tells Marinette "No, they're the monsters," seems like it's a premade response. Or rather, perhaps something he's thought in response countless times before.
It all seems to me to suggest that in contrast to Adrien, who's controlled by an amok and doesn't know it, having no idea why he's acting against his own will; and Kagami, who's never really been controlled with the amok but does have one, Félix may be an example of a sentimonster who was controlled with his amok and knew it.
Imagine being told by your father to do something you don't want to do, but you know you have no choice because he can force you magically. Knowing you're not a human, but a "monster." Does he really not have many friends because of the way he acts, like Chat Noir suggested in his debut episode, or was it that he was excluded for being a sentimonster? Was Gabriel's sentimonster replica the first person to threaten him with "What would your poor mother do if you disappeared?" or did his father ever hold that over his head?
And yeah, that...does sound pretty bad.

Do you have headcanons for Julieta? And if so, what are they?
Indeed I do. Here’s a good few headcanons for Julieta:
Her middle name is “Esperanza”
Julieta decided, at the age of five, if she had a girl she was naming it “Mirabel” - neither Isabela or Luisa fit the name though, which is why it was left for last
As a child, she didn’t like her gift because it felt like a chore doing all the cooking and washing dishes
The only triplet who has no desire to leave Encanto or travel
Julieta didn’t have friends because she spent most of her time in the kitchen and with two siblings didn’t see the point
Alma didn’t let Julieta see her patients at first, not wanting to traumatise her
Julieta met Félix at dance classes
Julieta learnt sewing in school and would be the one to teach Mirabel, but was never great at it. Her old apron was made herself and very patchwork
She is obsessed with tea
Félix is a particular good cook and the pair usually work together for big evens (gift ceremonies, proposals, etc)
Julieta’s intended suitor was Osvaldo Ortiz - however, he’s not a nice guy, and thankfully Agustín moved into town
Osvaldo didn’t take it well
Julieta met Agustín through Pepa at a party in their late teens, he had six broken bones at the time
Agustín proposed to her with a song
They were married in May, 1925 (film takes place in May, 1950, for comparison)
Julieta loves puns and bad jokes (Agustín’s vows were full of them)
They had a private ceremony with only a couple of close friends and their families in attendance.
They always knew they were going to have three children
Isabela was the easiest pregnancy, and arrived perfectly on her due date
“Isabela” was Agustín’s choice, so Julieta picked the middle name, “Cristina”
Baby Isabela was a very difficult sleeper, who enjoyed the sound of thunder, so slept in Pepa’s room. She really liked Pepa, much to Julieta’s annoyance
Luisa was the hardest pregnancy, and was a month late
“Luisa” was Julieta’s choice
Baby Luisa was very clingy and screamed if someone left her alone for even a second, she particularly latched onto Agustín and Julieta frequently worried they were going to get hurt
There was a lot of pressure for her to deliver a son, as she had promised to name it Pedro, and it only got worse after each girl. So by the time the third pregnancy hit, everyone assumed it would be a boy, following Alma
Agustín and Julieta experienced postpartum depression with Mirabel, as it was a disappointment and everyone seemed to distance themselves from her
One townsperson suggest to her they get rid of Mirabel and try again like she never existed
That person has not been healed for anything since
Baby Mirabel wasn’t clingy at all, she didn’t like being hugged and was easily pleased. Julieta thinks it’s because of how they initially didn’t bond with her
Young Isabela and Luisa were very scrappy and clumsy, frequently getting injured. Julieta thinks they’ve grown out of it now, she’s wrong. They’re Agustín’s daughters
When stressed she over-cleans, a habit young Mirabel also picked up
Keeps little treats in her pockets at all times
Won’t allow Isabela in the kitchen
If she or Félix aren’t there, Luisa is in charge of the kitchen - they have taught her well
Sometimes (prior film), Julieta pretends to be tired, to get Luisa to stay at home and cook, to prevent Luisa from overworking herself
She does the family food shopping
She frequently doesn’t buy café con leche because she thinks Isabela and Luisa drink too much of it
Julieta can’t take care of plants for the life of her, she overwaters them and has killed many of Isabela’s
She thinks raising Isabela was what it was like raising Pepa
Julieta thinks it’s funny and cute when Agustín mistakes Mirabel for her, but not when anyone else does it
Julieta is the parent to bring baby photos for the in-laws
Agustín and Julieta get caught kissing, frequently
Really wants to be an Abuela to many grandchildren

AND 33-38 for Félix and Islin and Bowman if u wanna do some comparisons hehe
o7 u got it boss
33: How do they greet someone they dislike / hate?
F: if he can get away with it probably some foul-mouthed tirade but if he can't get away with it, the most nauseatingly passive aggressive shit you will ever hear in your life
I: he wouldn't, he has a spine unlike everyone else here
B: maybe a little bit of a cold shoulder but mostly he'd just try to avoid it, some acknowledgement and then swiftly moving on. why waste time on bad vibes
34: How do they greet someone they like / love?
F: if he can get away with it probably some foul-mouthed tirade but if he can't get away with it, the most nauseatingly passive aggressive shit you will ever hear in your life scowl and an upnod
I: well first of all he will actually greet them so that's nice, but it's still going to be kind of formal and stiff. if you're really close with him he won't greet he'll just immediately start complaining about whatever's on his mind
B: he tries to play it cool but you can tell he's really happy to see you and slightly giddy
35: What is the smallest, morally questionable choice they’ve made?
F: there's a rich menu to choose from here. i heard he didn't stop to help an elderly person cross the street once. i saw him stealing a freshly-baked pie off a windowsill. i don't think he pays income tax
I: impossible question, every choice is the biggest choice he's ever made
B: he doesn't tip at the brothel (<- broke)
36: Who do they keep in their life for professional gain? Is it for malicious intent?
F: surprisingly nobody but that's because every person he used to keep around for professional gain doesn't speak to him anymore. that's pretty much all magpies. and yeah the intent was usually malicious
I: not quite professional gain since they're all just priests at the end of the day but Islin did cultivate 'friendships' (barely acquaintances) with many of his coworkers specifically to escape his felon reputation and show them he's a good guy now. not malicious.
B: nope he is completely lacking in the type of ambition you'd need for this
37: What’s a secret they haven’t told serious romantic partners and don’t plan to tell?
Félix and Bowman would share the same piece of gum, I don't think they actually have secrets they could keep from one another??? I guess Félix's slowly growing dissatisfaction and resentment may be one but that isn't secret for long
I: there is not a single secret of Islin's that Félix doesn't know about, much to his detriment. I don't think Islin ever really told Bowman that he was in love with Félix but like he didn't have to.
B: he never told Léa that he was also into men when they were dating, and he was never going to
38: What hobby are they good at in private, but bad at in front of others? Why?
F: crying
I: winning arguments. he's soooo good at the art of debate when there's nobody else around and nobody can overhear
B: 'in private' is not a concept he knows well as he is literally never alone but Esk could observe that Bowman is better at most of his finishing-school skills when he won't be observed by anyone else. he's pretty good at calligraphy

We're all making theories on Emilie Agreste and if she was good or bad but I'm guessing if she's just like her twin sister she was so damn oblivious she probably saw Gabriel being a bad father and was like "I love my trashy husband, he's not that bad, no one is perfect" just like Amelie is always excusing Félix's actions because she loves him and because he loves her. It wouldn't surprise me if Félix's father was just as bad and he married Amelie for that reason because he couldn't find another woman so beautiful but also perfect for him, no need to manipulate her, she's doesn't understand people as if she was raised by Barbie and thinks everyone is naturally good. It would be really funny cuz that would mean that both theories that she was a bad mother and a good person would be true because that's what Amelie is too and I doubt Emilie was much different. Amelie isn't treating Félix badly but she is not someone who should be raising a kid and I assume Emilie was just like that. Knowing she and Gabriel only had rich friends and all of them are bad parents she didn't have anyone to look up to and all of them were probably giving her bad advices and she went along with it and of course she as a rich girl had everything she wanted and was naive as fuk because she doesn't know what real life problems are. And she and Gabriel were really in love it's no longer a secret, so she would just brush off any red alarms and love her imperfect husband and agree with him like "yes having your child never touch grass is a good choice all our friends do this and if you think that's what we should do too then let's do it".
And about senti theory, if Adrien really is one this theory about Emilie is still standing.

Ooh, I'm pretty curious about your AU, I have a bunch of questions (if you don't mind answering. I just really love to hear ideas from AUs in general lol):
1-Will it be a comic, a fanfic, a fanfic with images to show important moments or just a concept in general?
2-Do the other kwamis simply DON'T EXIST in this AU, or did you choose only to not include them (so like, they DO exist in your world, but simply won't be shown)?
3-Will the sentimonster plot still happen? Will you put Félix (AND Argos) in your AU?
4- Do you plan to redesign all secondary characters? (Like the miracuclass, Félix, Nathalie, the major etc etc)
5-Will you change the miraculous powers? (Specially fluffy's, since he/they seem to be one of the kwamis in your au. Will they still have time travel powers?)
6-Are the characters you already redesign the ones who will be the other miraculous holders or will this be a spoiler? (So I'm guessing like, maybe Chloe gets the bunny and Sabrina the bee since that would make Sabrina the queen instead of Chloe lol- I didn't really get from your first post if you said that the AU would have kwami swaps, maybe I understood it wrong)
FIRST OF ALL THANK YOU FOR ASKING THESE ARE ALL GREAT QUESTIONS
1. Right now Im going to focus on posting lore snippets, some important lore changes, concept arts and doodles and possibly rants on miraculous' bad writing, but I am planning to make it a comic eventually!
2. They do exist.. or at least they did (I'm still writing that part). Fluffy is a prime example that other wonders (miraculouses) do exist, but outside of the kwamis in the lineup, they won't appear or be used.
3. Nope! There's a massive block that prevents the sentimonster plot for happening which I will mention in question 4. As for Felix and Argos, they're not happening either. I was actually thinking of removing Felix completely because I want a mostly straight-forward plot. Besides, I doubt MnP!Gabriel would allow any of his possible accomplices to bear an actual Wonder due to risks that could come If the person was to betray them or ESPECIALLY allow hormone pumped teenagers to fight by his side long-term
4. I have a few designs in mind, but in miracuclass's case they're not going to be something major unless I have a really good idea for a rewamp. Besides, most of them aren't going to be that important anyway..
5. YES! I already made changes to the Wonders of butterfly, peacock, rabbit and slight tweaks to turtle.
Butterfly - as we know from canon, akumas serve a purpose to create faithful followers. I went along with that sentence and I decided that the wonder allows the user to SHARE their power with a person of choosing (the strong emotion requirement is still there). With that, It puts a limit on Monarch's (Hawk Moth) power as he can't send more than 5 akumas without feeling the effects on his body. Due to lack of power provided by the Wonder, the artifact just drains the user themselves to gather an efficient amount to share. I hope It makes sense the same way as it does in my head..
Peacock - While butterfly's Wonder has an extremely close relation to Ladybug (creation) and it COULD make sense, I never really felt the sentimonster power have the same engagement. To me, It feels like a plot device ESPECIALLY WITH LIVING SENTIMONSTERS. Idk. I gave it a minor purpose - to disguise/confuse. It might still change over time but currently, the power allows the user to "hypnotise" their person of choice. The idea mostly came from the feathers and eye-like elements on peacocks, distracting you with their beauty.
Turtle doesn't change much. I just figured the creation of the shield doesn't have to be JUST round so the turtle user can create a wall made out of the green hexagons. It could be useful in other situations like maybe using it as a platform or a bridge! I doubt Its canon, but If it is I guess no changes then
Most important point though - NO TIME TRAVEL. Yes, the rabbit wonder doesn't have time travelling powers and instead has ones resembling the horse's miraculous. It can jump into "the burrow" and jump out on the other side. Time travel is a plot device anyway, all my homies hate time travel (toh is the ONLY exception)
6. It's not a miraculous swap AU, no. Most of the holders will be aligned with the show, although there will be a difference here and there
Thank you again for asking!! Im glad the designs were interesting enough to get your attention

Can you write a story on how Pepa would react to Felix having a boner pressed against her in bed ?
God we love some boner business. Let's GO
The night was still. The night was quiet. So why was it Pepa found herself stirring a bit in her sleep, to the point where she begrudgingly woke up? She grumbled a bit as her eyes opened, grumpy as she reached over to flick on a candle to help illuminate the room with a dull glow. It took her only a moment to figure out the culprit- Félix. HE was dead asleep, arms wrapped around her protectively as he snoozed, with his erection pressed against his shorts, and against her panties.
"...oh."
No wonder she woke up. Félix's friend wasn’t exactly tiny, so his presence was pretty damn obvious. She should wake him up, but...oh, it had been too long since he fucked his little wife (a full twenty four hours, can you imagine?). She couldn't help herself. She held onto the arm wrapped around her chest, and hugged it as she pushed her ass against it. It was gentle at first, just a little bit of brushing against it.
Then she started to get REALLY fucking horny. She got the erection to rub against her ass, even a bit against her pussy. Next thing she knew, she was whinpering, and essentially forcing that big, thick cock to hump her. She turned to look at Félix, his face was so beautifully unaware and gentle as he continued to sleep. She held his cheek, and gave his lips a few pecks, getting absolutely giddy as a soft moan escaped those lips she loved so much.
"Damelo Félix...I want it."
She stopped for only a moment to push down his underwear, trying to not make herself moan as his erection, free as a bird, was separated only by her panties. The cock that gave her more orgasms than she could count, the cock that gave her her babies, the cock that she was practically smothering with her ass right now.
"Fuck fuck fuck...just a little more, make a mess for mami, Gran bastardo!"
She couldn't resist holding his hand, kissing his big, stupid palm, finding her pussy tremble at the smell of wood stuck against his skin (he went out to chop wood earlier, GOD that was hot). His cock was twitching, clearly he was going to cum, and she'd lick him clean and-
"Didn’t know you could be so bad, Pepi."
His voice was husky against her ear, and she found her scream being muffled by his hand. Was it in surprise? Delight? She couldn't tell. Just that Félix suddenly pressed her face against the pillow, and put every single pound of that sexy body on her, and fucked her clothed ass. Oh his thrusts were so fast, so full of force, she felt her eyes practically roll to the back of her head. Oh his stupid sexy voice was of no help.
"Look at you. You got me all worked up. Now you're gonna fucking sit there, and let me use you till I cum all over this pretty fucking ass."
It wasn't a choice, wasn't a question. She riled him up, she had to take care of him, and she was absolutely delighted to. Her fingers dug into the hand around her face, more in worship than in complaint, thankful it muted all her loud, untamed moans. He had so much fucking weight to him, she swore the bed creaked and groaned under his massive weight, and that was somehow even SEXIER.
"I'm cumming. FUCK I'm cumming all over you, you bad, bad girl."
His words were blunt, his voice was husky. The type of husky he used to get whatever the fuck he wanted. He kept humping her into the sheets, before she felt it. Ribbons of thick, hot cum decorated her ass, and her bare back. When he seemed to have his fill, he took away his hand, leaning down to kiss her lips with such hunger, she thought he was going to eat her right up. She whimpered as his cock, still fluffed up from his recent orgasm, pressed up against her ass.
"I'M not bad. Your f-friend woke me up, I think he missed me."
"And you decided to entertain him without me? Sounds bad to me, Pepa. I don't think you should try to talk your way out of this."
She tried not to swoon as his thumb carressed her lips, and immediately her mind filled with all sorts of dirty thoughts. She kissed his thumb in adoration, to prove she was good. But pushing her ass against him was a bit counterproductive.
"You gonna make me quiet, hombrecito?"
He kissed at her shoulder, nodding.
"Si. I think there's a ballgag in the closet with your name on it."
She felt herself shake as his teeth gently grazed against her skin. Stupid sexy Félix, keeping her awake at this time of night.
"This a suggestion, or you being an hombre and TELLING me?"
She felt her face smothered by the pillow, it being used to smother her scream as his hand SPANKED her little ass. He pulled her head up by her hair, looking at her as smug as smug could get.
"Neither. You're being a dirty girl and asking me. Go on."
She swallowed her nerves, before nodding.
"Gag me Papi, por favor."
"Eso Pepi~...you wait right here. Don't move."
He was about to get up, when her whimper stopped him. He looked down at her curiously, and she felt herself pouting.
"I wanna move real quick."
"What for?"
"I'm thirsty."
He shrugged, and relented.
"I can get you water. Do you just wanna get the gag for when I come back-"
"I want a snack too."
"...do you just wanna have a late night snack party then pass out?"
"Do...you mind?"
Félix DID sound really excited. Oh god was he upset or even angry-
"Not at all. I've seen you during late night snack parties, it's sexy~"
He chuckled as he leaned in to kiss her forehead, handing her the big, puffy robe she loved so much.
"Te amo, Félix."
"I love you too, Pepa. But no chocolates, its too late."
"W-you can't tell me what to eat!"
"Yes Papi can."
"Like hell you can!"
He should be ashamed of himself, disgusted even. He kept his forehead against hers, trying and failing to look in charge.
"I'm older, that counts. No chocolates. Pepi, don't give me that look. Pepi. No. I'm serious, you're going to be tired tomorrow and miserable."
She pouted her little lips, even made them tremble, and batted her pretty eyes at him. He sighed, before he just gave the hell up.
"Fine. But only a little bit."
She grinned, giving a little clap in victory. She sat smugly in his arms as he picked her right up, walking her out of the room as quietly as he could. She loved him, almost as much as she loved chocolate.
Almost.

@mcltiples sent:
On top of the building, Ladybug landed right next to her partner. A sigh escaped from her lips as her utility yo-yo settled into her palm. She took her time to seat herself on the ledge.
"Chat Noir, I need to tell you," She squished her body, hunched over, eyes fixated on the ground beneath them. "I found out who Monarch is... was,"
Brows furrowed in concentration. For a minute, she let the words hang in the air. Just enough time for them both to process what she was about to say.
Then as she turned to gaze at Chat Noir, determination within blue eyes, she spoke. "It was Gabriel Agreste, the famous fashion designer."
{ To Chat Noir from Ladybug >:D }
Tumblr media
For the few days that had followed Monarch's demise, Adrien had allowed himself to believe that, after all, things were finally taking a turn for the better. Paris was safe from the relentless attacks that had been plaguing it for far too long. He wouldn't have to lie to his loved ones every single day to lead his double life, but just once in a while. He could freely be with the girl he loved.
Of course, he missed his father, but knowing that he had done the right thing, that his sacrifice had been what had allowed the world to become a better place was a comfort. Besides, he hadn't been left alone. Not only Natalie had stepped into the role of his legal guardian, but his aunt and cousin had moved to Paris, into the Agreste mansion, to be by his side.
The only thing that bugged him a little was Félix's odd behaviour towards him. The other watched him like a hawk, with a slightly creepy, unreadable expression. Adrien had tried to approach him to ask what was up with him, but they had been interrupted every time his cousin had been about to give him a proper answer.
In spite of this, he had still decided not to worry about it too much. After all, Félix had always been a little weird and he had even worse social skill than Adrien himself. Eventually, he would have told him what it was all about.
So, when Ladybug had asked him to meet so they could discuss an "important matter", the last thing he had been expecting was for the talk to be about their late enemy. And, even less to hear those words.
I found out who Monarch is… was.
Even before she was done saying that sense, Cat Noir's heart had jumped in his throat, making it feel tight and uncomfortable. He could feel it, like a bad omen hanging over his head, ready to drop and stab him right through the heart. She wouldn't have said it with that tone, if she hadn't been about to reveal a heavy secret.
It was Gabriel Agreste.
Gabriel Agreste.
GABRIEL AGRESTE.
His father and Monarch...the same person?
Adrien's brain was frozen, unable to process that piece of information. He knew that his father could be strict. He had been forced to acknowledge that the man had made bad choices and mistakes for the sake of his own beliefs. He had hurt his own son, in the name of doing what was best for him. He had uprooted him and locked him up in a white room with no windows, for crying out loud.
But being a supervillain? That was a whole different story. Yet, Ladybug had no reason to be lying to him. She didn't even know whom he was.
Tumblr media
"...W-What? That...That's can't be right," he stuttered out, green eyes wide with shock. "It makes no sense. Why...calling him a hero, if he was the one behind it all? Why did you...? Why would you want to protect his name?!"
His hands balled into fists without him realising it, claws leaving marks against the tiles. Now that the surprise was slowly fading, there were other, darker feelings bubbling their way towards the surface. He could feel them mounting in his chest, threatening to explode out of him with the same destructive energy of one of his Cataclysms.
Pain. Horror. Desperation. Anger. Betrayal.
All the innocent people who had been used, hurt, traumatised. All the destruction that had been rained on the city and on their lives. All the fights, the sacrifices, the lies, the empty promises. The neglect, the disappointments, the wasted efforts he himself had made. And for what? What was Gabriel trying to obtain? What kind of wish was worth ruining all those lives, including their own?
...Did he even truly know the man he had called "father"? Or was he just seeing what he had to see, because the truth would have led to a catastrophic ending?
Like in his nightmares.
In the blink of an eye he was on his feet, unable to stay seated anymore. He couldn't stay there with her. He couldn't be around anyone right. He shouldn't even be Cat Noir, not when he was feeling like that. It was too dangerous.
Tumblr media
"I...I have to go. There's...I have something urgent to do, that I had forgotten," he blurted out in a rush. He didn't even know if she had started to answer his questions, and honestly he didn't care. He just needed to leave. "I'll...see you soon, Milady."
And with that, he hopped off the roof, landing in a side alley and dashing away as soon as his feet hit the floor. He couldn't risk having his partner following him. Not this time, not when he needed to transform back so urgently. Before that, however, there was one thing Cat Noir needed to do.
His father wasn't a hero. He wasn't a good person. He wasn't even a decent human being. He was a monster, and Adrien just hadn't wanted to see it.
That painful, devastating truth rose so many questions, what was he supposed to be as the son of said monster first and foremost. All interrogatives he had no answer to. Perhaps, he would find them, once his mind would have been clearer. Now, he clung to one and only thought.
Gritting his teeth, he took a sudden turn, changing direction so that he could head towards the part, near Marinette's house. He didn't know what he would do, whom he could talk to. He didn't know what he wanted to do about all this. However, one thing was crystal clear to him: Gabriel Agreste didn't deserve the shiny fake light he had been put in.
And if he couldn't destroy the lie in itself, he would turn its symbol into ashes.

Ml fandom (saltdom?) is weird. Like we have this sweet, kind boy as the deuteragonist and love interest for the protagonist and they bash him, call him sexual harasser yet... They pair the protagonist with this gremlin who impersonate his cousin to do sexual harassment do the said protagonist and make him her savior or something I don't know. Something is really wrong here.................. I mean you ship what you want to ship I understand but does it necessary to bash other character for validating the ship?
Bashing the “competition” for your preferred ship is as old as shipping, I’m afraid. It’s why ship wars are an old concept; this stuff is common. There’s this idea that the option that gets rejected should be explicitly worse than the one you go with, to justify you going with that option. This is where the idea of console wars comes from, so I’ll use it as an example.
Video game consoles cost a lot of money, and they take up a lot of space. This means you’re probably not going to get every one that comes out, especially since at least two companies time their releases around the same time. You’re being forced to pick one. For some people it’s not enough that they just pick the one that appeals to them more, they also spend a lot of time and effort coming up with reasons for why the one they didn’t pick is actual trash and they’d have been so miserable playing with that one instead of the one they’re going with. On some level they’re afraid of regretting their choice and double down.
Shipping is kinda like that. You invest time and emotions in shipping something, reading fics and hoping they’ll get together. You might even shape a part of your identity as being a fan of that particular ship, since being a fan of something in general often gets treated as an identity tag instead of merely an activity you enjoy. What if that time…was wasted? What if there exists a ship that people think is better than yours? Rather than go “shipping is subjective”, these people reject the very notion that any other ship could possibly be likable and come up with reasons why the competing romantic options are bad.
Although, in the case of Félinette, I’m gonna be fully honest. In many cases, it’s not about hating other characters because they get in the way of the ship, it’s explicitly shipping because you hate a character. Félinette shippers who bash Adrien don’t care about Félix as a character. It’s not about Félix, so his canon personality doesn’t matter. It’s about getting an option that’s as different as possible from Adrien. It’s all about hating Adrien. The starting point for an Adrien-bashing Félinette shipper is hating Adrien, not liking Félix. This is why Félix is often turned into Adrien lite in these fics when they try to turn him into a proper love interest, unless they use Félix’s canon spiteful personality with the intent to rain hellfire onto Marinette’s “bullies”.
It’s just like the Head Honcho of Miraculous spiteships, Daminette. The “shippers” are actually Anti Adrien, so they find a character who is an Anti Adrien, and then they put that character with Marinette. Because the point isn’t that Marinette is with a character they like; the point is that Marinette isn’t with Adrien.

"I believe you,” Gabriel said.
Adrien looked up, meeting his father’s somber gaze. Years of arguments and angry silence flickered between them, but he didn’t doubt Gabriel’s words. No one else in the room knew how desperately Adrien had advocated for Gabriel to turn his attention away from Ladybug’s earrings to the Rabbit Miraculous instead.
“But,” said Gabriel, and Adrien’s heart sank, “we’ve lost more than just the watch today.”
I do wonder how this pitch worked, given that Gabriel doesn't actually have any power here. Gabriel must have made a pitch to Lila about the benefits of the Rabbit Miraculous, though I don't see how it would benefit her more than the Wish would. I mean, the Wish could be used to make everyone on the planet worship her. The Rabbit Miraculous can't do that.
I wonder what Gabriel's whole plan here was, anyway? I mean, did he think Lila would let him stop her from killing Nathalie, let him save Emilie (if that's even possible), or anything else like that? While Gabriel's under Lila's thumb to any great extent, I don't see how he could actually use these powerful items he's trying to get ahold of. More likely, Lila would take possession of them and use them to become even MORE powerful.
“Adrien,” said Gabriel, coming around the table and laying a hand on his shoulder. “The Rabbit Miraculous is gone. I know that’s not your fault, but…” He looked down, heaving a sigh. “What other choice do we have left?”
The weight of all the years pressed over Adrien’s chest. Or maybe that was just his proximity to his Amok. The ring gleamed on Gabriel’s finger, and Adrien quickly pushed his hand off.
“Yes, what other choice?” Lila said, breaking the silence. She pushed off the desk, walking up behind Gabriel and wrapping his arm in a grip. “Poor M. Agreste has lost both your mother and Nathalie to the Peacock Miraculous. He owes it to them to revive them, no matter the cost. And Félix!” Lila pulled away from Gabriel to stride toward Félix, who leaned away from her with evident disgust. “You want your aunt back too, don’t you? And your father?”
You know, I do notice here that Gabriel's being a lot gentler with Adrien than he is in canon, and I'm pretty sure, than he would have been before this hellscape for them both started. He doesn't WANT to be mean to Adrien, to hurt him or make him feel bad. There's been quite enough of that, that he can't actually change.
And Lila's whole reaction. Maybe THAT'S how Gabriel was able to sell the "Use the Rabbit" plan to her, by appealing to the idea that Adrien would owe her, would love her if she helped bring back Emilie and Nathalie.
“You could just make me go,” Adrien spat, out of frame. Gabriel tensed, his gaze flicking somewhere across the ridiculously hideous atelier in which he stood. “That’s what you’ve always done before, isn’t it?”
“You are not leaving this house,” Gabriel said firmly.
Hm. Gabriel can't deny this. He DID used to do that. And now, he both CAN'T do that (not of his own free will, anyway), nor would he be willing to, I think.
Apart from a stern phone call informing Adrien he would be returning from Nice with the Horse Miraculous after dinner to “have a conversation,” Gabriel had been otherwise silent on Cat Walker’s betrayal. Although when Adrien’s feet had begun moving on their own accord, bringing him to Gabriel’s atelier and down to the repository, he’d understood his father’s message loud and clear.
He was in deep shit.
See, before all of this, I'm pretty sure that Gabriel would have been a lot more verbose about Cat Walker's "betrayal". Would have tried to guilt-trip Adrien, would have torn into him. He's not doing that. He really doesn't want to make his son more miserable than he is already.
Gabriel ignored him, removing the glasses and tucking them into his collar. He looked exhausted too, Adrien noticed. Based on the heavy bags under Gabriel’s eyes, it was clear Adrien wasn’t the only Agreste who had passed a sleepless night.
You know, I wonder what was going through Gabriel's head here, why he couldn't sleep this night.
Gabriel stepped up to Adrien, his expression hard, his eyes dull. For several long moments, he said nothing, and Adrien felt his palms begin to sweat. Though he had an inch or so on his father now, Gabriel still had the uncanny ability to shrink Adrien with a look.
Whenever you talk about the dull eyes, I have to wonder... Trixx had dull eyes too. A side effect of being controlled perhaps? Or just of Gabriel's misery?
“She’s my partner,” Adrien said softly. Nothing would change that, no matter how many years went by. “You couldn’t do it to Mom, could you?”
Gabriel turned away, his fist clenching and unclenching. Adrien watched the line of his shoulders tense, then slowly release, as though just the sight of Emilie was enough to deflate his anger. And maybe it was, because when he turned around, his expression was filled with utter hopelessness.
I think Gabriel knows here that Adrien's right. He COULDN'T do this to Emilie. And he knows what Adrien's going through, what it's like to be controlled and stomped on, and still try to protect the people you care about. And the utter hopelessness... I'm not sure whether that's due to Lila's orders taking effect on Gabriel, or whether it's simply knowing that Adrien will continue to try to not hurt Ladybug, because it's just not something he's ever willing to do.
“This cannot happen again,” he said, staring at Adrien, features pinched with desperation. “You will get her miraculous next time. You must.”
He felt the orders sink into him, wrapping around his will like iron bars. Adrien gritted his teeth, but his lungs were tight with compliance.
The very fact that Adrien received these new orders, ones that only his Amok holder could force him to obey (and thus must have Lila's approval) hints that the "utter hopelessness" is probably because Gabriel's receiving orders from Lila.
“This can end well for us,” Gabriel said, his voice softening into something Adrien hated. “That woman can be yours again. Your mother can be ours again. It only takes one Wish.”
That softening voice... I think Gabriel is, genuinely, trying to make Adrien feel better. Which is why Adrien hates it so much, since from his perspective, Gabriel's still trying to pretend that controlling Adrien is anything but evil.
In reality, Gabriel has no control here, and is genuinely trying to soften this horrific situation. I think Gabriel's whole "plan" here, for as much as it could be called one, is the desperate hope that if they can get the Ladybug Miraculous, that somehow he could get ahold of it from Lila, along with the Black Cat Miraculous, and fix everything, from Nathalie's death, to Emilie's coma, to the misery Adrien's been through. I think it's less a case of genuinely believing this is viable, and more that it's the only thing he's clinging to as a way out, since otherwise he doesn't have anything to stave off despair. Gabriel isn't as good at coping as Adrien is, I think.
He could feel his father watching him, sense him weighing his words. “You will forgive me when we are finally happy.”
This, also, seems to be something that Gabriel is genuinely saying of his own free will. I think the meaning he intends here is something along the lines of "when I am able to make the Wish and correct everything that's gone horribly wrong all these years, including the things I cause, and make it so that the horrors you've been through these last six years never happened." So a sort of comfort thing, though a hilariously ineffective one.
Unable to stop himself, Adrien snapped his head up, meeting Gabriel’s gaze head-on. “Is that an order?”
His father’s eyes flashed, but his expression smoothed into a blank mask. Turning, he started back down the catwalk, releasing a shaky breath. “You’re to appear at your best for the interview and photoshoot tomorrow. If it goes as well as is expected of you, you’ll be doing another European tour with Mlle Rossi over the summer.”
Gabriel's expression smoothing over sounds like Lila took control again, before Gabriel could start acting up.
“If you ever have children,” Gabriel said after a moment, “you might begin to understand.”
Anger flared in Adrien’s chest. He stepped forward, ignoring the way Plagg flitted closer toward him, nervously pulling on his lapel.
“Understand what?” he said lowly, leaning into his father’s space. “That the ends justify the means?”
“Understand what it takes,” Gabriel said softly, looking up and meeting his eyes. “What a father should do to protect his son, to give him the life he deserves.”
I think that Gabriel means something very different here than what Adrien's hearing. From what Adrien knows, Gabriel's responsible for him being controlled and punished all the time. But I'm betting Gabriel's being completely genuine here. That he's TRYING his best to set things up so Adrien has some chance at survival and happiness, both of which are in doubt so long as the status quo is maintained. Using the Wish may be dangerous and difficult, but it's the only idea Gabriel HAS right now. Though I still want to know whether he has an actual plan for how to make sure HE uses the Wish, instead of Lila.
“Thank you for the warning, Adrien,” Gabriel said, adjusting his glasses. “Rest assured, I am working on a solution.”
“That wasn’t a warning,” Adrien said. “It was a threat.”
Gabriel frowned at him, perturbed, and Adrien moved in closer.
“I know what you’re like,” Adrien said, scanning his father’s face. “I know what you’re planning, and I want you to leave my friends out of it.”
“For that to happen,” Gabriel said coldly, “you would need to do the same.”
This part, I'm not as sure about? Gabriel's being unusually cold, relative to how he's been with Adrien up until now, when Lila doesn't appear to be taking control, anyway. Then again, maybe he's just trying to warn Adrien away from taking actions that might cause Lila to retaliate against his friends.
“Monsieur Agreste,” Lila said, leaning forward to address him. Her long hair fell around her shoulders and she pushed it back, showcasing the golden herringbone choker resting against her collarbones. “I think you owe Adrien an apology. It’s not very nice to Akumatize your own son.”
Gabriel’s jaw clenched, his knuckles turning white on the tablet pen. He said nothing as the car turned down the avenue toward the Gabriel building, the screen reflection flashing in his glasses.
I think with the way Gabriel's jaw is clenching, how he's barely restraining himself, he isn't even being controlled here. I think Lila's just plain taunting him, knowing that with the blackmail she has, he has to play along.
“I don’t want to take the ring from you,” Gabriel said carefully, “but I will if it means saving your life.”
He's being careful with his words again, probably because he needs to make sure that he doesn't cross Lila. But he also really would like to take the ring from Adrien so that he doesn't die. I'm actually pretty surprised that Lila allows him to keep it, honestly.
“Adrien, listen to me,” Gabriel said, setting his foot down and leaning forward. He searched Adrien’s face frantically, his gray eyes gleaming. “You’re going to exceed your powers if you continue like this. You’re going to break your miraculous.”
Maybe this is the kind of thing that's been keeping Gabriel up. Knowing that Adrien's close to breaking his Miraculous, even breaking his Amok, and dying, and there's nothing he can do about it.
Gabriel’s hand twitched toward him, but then he folded his hands in his lap, squeezing hard. The silver gleam of his wedding ring remained untouched.
“No,” he said softly. “Nor to Ladybug.”
Gabriel isn't even pretending to touch the ring. It's not like it'd be useful for controlling Adrien, anyway. He only ever twists it on Lila's command, and Lila isn't forcing him to right now. Nor do I think that Gabriel would be willing to give these types of orders to Adrien at this point. He actually seems to be leaning heavily on Adrien caring for Ladybug, and wanting to reunite with her. And not just as a way to manipulate Adrien - I think he genuinely wants Adrien to be with Ladybug again. I wonder whether it makes him think of his relationship with Emilie, or even with Nathalie...
Gabriel looked at him, and then at Lila. She raised her brows coolly, toying with the chain around her neck, and something in Gabriel’s expression hardened.
“It’s already done,” he said heavily, and twisted the ring on his finger.
"It's already done," is accurate. It was done before Gabriel ever twisted his ring, because Lila had already given the command. Gabriel was just speaking the plain truth there.
So looking at all this, I've noticed how soft Gabriel is with Adrien in general. He genuinely doesn't want to hurt him more, but doesn't have a choice in the matter. And of course, Adrien draws the obvious conclusions from Gabriel's actions and assumes it's just more abuse tactics, of Gabriel playing nice in order to try to get Adrien to be more cooperative, and to convince himself that he's the good guy. Which I mean. It's not like it's beyond what Gabriel's done before. It's just that now, this is all out of Gabriel's hands, and he genuinely doesn't have much choice in hurting Adrien.

Yandere platonic pepas side of the family with Antonio's twins that didn't get a gift
I love your blog so much
I'm glad :D
[Platonic]Yandere Pepa's Side:
You were so excited to get your own gift after seeing Antonio get his a few seconds ago
But instead, once you touched the door, it slowly disappeared.
You were confused and upset, as everyone started whispering to each other. But Abuela immediately changed the subject and started to focus on Antonio and his new gift.
Dolores was quick to comfort you, and took you to her room for the rest of the night for a sleepover.
After that day, you pretended like you didn't care. At least Antonio got one and that was perfectly fine with you.
But the others saw past that, and started to become a bit more clingy around you. They wanted to comfort you and make you feel special in your own way.
Félix would start to constantly remind you that you didn't need some silly gift to be apart of the family, and you would be just like your Papa. You found yourself hanging around him much more now.
Pepa was very worried about you, knowing how Abuela was towards Mirabel for not having a gift so she would start to become very defensive about you. Would say you were the gift, despite how embarrassed you got over it.
Dolores would be listening into everyone to see what they were saying about you, and if anyone dared to say a single mean comment about you their secrets would be out the next.
Camilo won't stop until he makes you smile again. Forces you to pull pranks with him, plays any game of your choice, and etc. He just wants to see you happy again.
Antonio was confused on why he got a gift and why you didn't. But after it, he would try and share his gift with you and you play along like you understand the animals too. Feels kinda bad about it.
Just basically your family would try and cheer you up, and it's all sweet. You'll just have to get used to them being clingy and slowly becoming more overprotective.

Sometimes I'm driving or taking a shower or washing the dishes and my mind is wandering and I think about the fact that I'll never again get to watch a scene where Manuel Masalva plays Ramón Arellano Félix, and I just get so sad about it.
Like, I know I can rewatch Narcos: México, but I'm talking about new scenes. New, fresh, unreleased scenes, sequences, dialogues for us to obsess with and create gifs and overananalyse and it all. Never again.
I'll never again get to watch Manuel walking around with Ramón's flawless shirts, striding fiercely towards whatever he is shooting at at the moment, dancing in his hyperbolic style at The Roxanne, shouting puta madre or a la chingada or pinche whatever when he gets angry.
I'll never again get to watch Alfonso Dosal somehow managing to look hot with Benjamín's sunday-dad-clothes; never again get to hear Alfonso's beautiful voice while Benjamín talks in a lovely manner with his wife and daughter; never again see the amazing looks Ramón and Benjamín would exchange when something too bad or too good happens, those looks that say despite being so different they understand each other so well and know exaclty what is crossing each others' minds at that moment.
I'll never see Mayra Hermosillo looking like THE BIGGEST BADASS in this show, like, nevermore. I'll never again see her in Enedina's super elegant clothes while she acts as la jefa de Tijuana; never again see her showing grief or anger or determination in Enedina's subtle way, her emotions showing up only in her big beautiful eyes. I'll never again get to see her and Ramón teaming up to protect Benjamín, or maybe her and Benjamín teaming up to protect Ramón. I'll never again see her losing her temper and smashing a bottle in somebody's head, screaming tu puta madre or something like that.
I'll never have another chance to see Diego Luna with a permanent frown, angrily smoking while Miguel silently outsmarts his enemies. I'll never again see Fernanda Urrejola being the most beautiful woman in the world as Maria Elvira; never again see her challenging Miguel; never again feel my heart breaking as I watch their story.
I'll never have another chance to laugh at Chapo's petulant jokes and to wish he and the Arellanos would stop fighting so I could like him more. I'll never again see Teresa Ruiz stunning in Isabella's tight dresses and high heels, and wish the other characters would show her more respect - she so deserved it.
I'll never again get so fucking angry at Rafa's actions and love him at the same time for being so passionate about everything, so loyal, so in love with Sofia and his plantitas, so dramatic when he does something like staring at Neto and saying "Nunca has estado enamorado de nadie porque no tienes corazón." And Neto! I'll never get another chance to have so much fun with his moody, "I'm old and wise but I'll definitely guide you to the wrong side" vibe.
I'll never again watch Amado and Pacho talking, being the strangest and yet the coolest and cutest friends around. I'll never again see them hugging or hear them joking about each others' fashion choices; never again see Amado so worried when he knew Pacho was in danger; never again fall in love with Pacho everytime I see him because the man looks so fine.
All of this makes me so sad Netflix should pay for my therapy. I'm not even joking.
I miss them all SO MUCH. 🥺😭
.
(and this is why @thesolotomyhan and @criatividad-e are real lifesavers, because reading their hcs and fics I feel I meet all these characters again 😌 it's almost like the story is still going on 😌 and I love you writers for that 😌🥰)

There’s so many stairs in Casa Madrigal
Hello!
Lately, this blog is mainly Encanto related, so if you get here looking for content about this beautiful movie, welcome! (previously, it was a Coco related blog, so I also have a lot of old content about it here)
Since I've been posting here my Encanto fics over these last weeks, and I'm still writing more, I wanted to make a pinned master list to put them all together. If you take a look at them, I hope you enjoy them, and thank you very much in advance for your time and comments and/or reblogs. They're highly appreciated!
So welcome to:
Tumblr media
Standalones:
It will always be the three of us When Pepa met Félix and she met Agustín, Julieta knew this would happen. They were in that age, after all. Everyone was making big decisions, choosing their paths. Everyone, except Bruno. Because, even if his look was always fixed in the future, he had never been fond of changes.
Sana, sana, colita de rana During those first years setting up the Encanto, it was easier for Alma to keep busy. There were a lot of things to do and no time to think. But as the town grew bigger and the life got steadier, her mind started to waver. Sometimes, she could conceal it. Other times, she couldn't. Especially at night, when she couldn't take refuge in the town's hustle and constant responsibilities, and found herself alone at home, taking care of her children on her own as the widowed mother she was, while seeing the ghost of the love of her life in their little faces.
Series:
The life of her dreams Isabela was very different when she was twelve. She was louder, funnier, more energetic, more vocal, more ridiculous, a total jokester. She was braver, too. That's why she didn't hesitate when she asked Bruno for a vision. She really wanted to know if the life of her dreams would be hers someday. But she regretted it later, of course. Because her uncle's vision taught her an important lesson: even good omens could turn into bad news.
And everyone always assumes the worst Three times in a row, Bruno was asked to look into his nieces' future. The first one was Isabela, a perfectly good omen turned into an awful warning under his mother's perfectionist look. The last one, the one that changed everything, was Mirabel, that fateful night full of fear and anxiety about a vanished door. But the one that hurt the most, the one that really made him reach his limit, was the second one. A request in the tiny voice of his dearest niece and a vision that made him wonder what was the point of having a miracle that felt like a curse.
In our darkest moment The triplets knew perfectly the story of the miracle's origin. But even so, Bruno had wondered many times how would it be to live through something so extreme. Losing everything in a blink, turning around and discovering your life had radically changed forever in a matter of seconds. It was something that had given him nightmares when he was younger, and he had concluded he didn't want to fully understand it. It was too much. The night Mirabel didn't get her gift, however, he had no choice but to finally understand.
I’ll do anything for you Dolores was more used to the drawbacks of her gift than to its perks. Since the moment she had turned five, she had been blessed with a significant amount of knowledge, but knowing a lot of things didn't mean she knew what to do with them— or that she could even do something at all. Most of the times, she was compelled to play ignorance, as if she couldn't hear the hard words, scolding, arguments, subtle crying, soft apologies, mumbled prayers, tired sighs or wordless silences. Those were things kids shouldn't know, so she was expected to do nothing about them, just to keep quiet and step aside. The night Mirabel didn't get her gift, however, too many things changed forever. And when she heard tío Bruno crumbling in his room, as much as the very walls of the tower, she decided it was time to step forward.
I'll keep it updated as I post more! :D
