a lesson in love.

The puppet that had recently begun to live in your village had been acting strange around you lately. His name was Kabukimono, and you had never met anyone like him before. You distinctly remember the first time you saw him, Niwa and the others crowded around him. He had the fairest skin, long luscious locks, and clothing that only the highest-standing nobles in Inazuma could afford. He almost reminded you of a princess.
Although the other villagers accepted him, they were still quite reserved towards him. Niwa, Katsuragi, and a few others were the only ones who would smile and laugh with him, ruffling his hair as if he were a normal human. And though Kabukimono was greatly pleased by this, you could see he was still rather lonely. After all, his friends worked most of the day while he was left to his own devices as of now.
You were fascinated by the beautiful boy who seemed enamored with the most simplest of things life had to offer - collecting fruits (especially Lavender Melon, which seemed to be his favorite), playing with finches and other small creatures, and shyly yet curiously watching the other children play from a distance. You were quite entranced with him, and so you struck up a conversation with him. From that day forward, Kabukimono was a changed puppet.
Kabukimono would constantly stare at you and then immediately look away when you turned to face him. He would trail behind you like a lost puppy until you acknowledged him, and quickly scurry to your side. You would wake up to the puppet sitting outside your house, waiting to start the day with you (you were greatly concerned once you realized he sat there for the whole night.) He’d insist on carrying everything for you, and although he was very strong, he did not have a good sense of balance, and well… you can guess how that turned out. He was quite literally attached to your hip, and it didn’t take long for everyone else to notice as well.
The kids would giggle uncontrollably and start to whisper: “Kabuki and [Name], sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-”, you quickly clamped your hands over their mouths before they could say anything else, while the puppet was confused the whole time. Couples would shoot you knowing looks. Niwa’s wiggling eyebrows and grin did not help you much either. Kabukimono’s love-struck behavior only increased but the problem was that he himself did not understand why he felt this way. Often you would see him with a stumped expression. And well, you had grown a soft spot for the puppet too… you completely adored him. You wanted to make him happy. But first, you must talk with him.
It was a normal day where you were doing nothing in particular, simply enjoying the calmness while Kabukimono sat next to you as well. The puppet had trouble understanding the concept of “relaxing” and doing nothing but he did feel the stress leaving his body whenever he engaged in this activity with you. The birds chirped, the breeze was cool, and everything felt perfect for some conversation.
“Kabukimono, have you been alright lately?” you questioned, hoping to get him to talk about his feelings. The puppet perked up at your voice.
“Me? Yes, I’ve been fine. Why?”
“Well, sometimes I see you looking a little down. I was just wondering why.” Kabukimono was surprised you noticed that, and he felt a bit shy but happy at how much you paid attention to him.
“W-well, it’s nothing really,” he tried to reassure himself and you but you didn’t buy it.
“You know you can tell me anything,” you advised. “I want to help you with whatever’s bothering you.” Kabukimono chewed on his lip, persuaded by your kindness. A determined expression appeared on his face.
“I think I’m sick, [Name],” he said it so seriously you were caught off guard. Out of all answers, you were not expecting that.
“Sick…? But you know you cannot get sick,” you said, trying to hint at the fact that puppets could not contract illnesses.
“I know that, but there’s just no other explanation I can think of! I asked some of the children in the village, and my symptoms line up with what they said!”
“Well, what are your symptoms?”
“My body gets really hot, my palms get sweaty… and my chest starts to feel funny,” he explained.
“Hmm, that does sound like a sickness.” The puppet let out a resigned sigh but then straightened up again.
“But…”
“But?”
“These things… they only happen around you, [Name]. Around everyone else I’m fine, but then as soon as I see you, all these weird things start happening to me,” Kabukimono looked down at his lap bashfully, almost afraid his statement would offend you. Your heart completely melted.
“Hey, look at me, Kabukimono,” you requested, and the puppet slowly complied, looking at you with his shimmering, worried eyes. “Don’t give me that look,” you giggled. “I’m not mad. In fact, I think I know what’s wrong with you. But I… need to do a quick test on you to confirm. Is that okay?”
Hope appeared in his eyes as he nodded excitedly. “Oh, of course! But what do you need to do?”
“Here, give me your hands, Kabukimono,” you said gently, as you placed his soft palms on top of yours. The puppet’s stunned and red-faced reaction already told you everything you needed to know but you still had to take this slowly. “How do you feel right now?”
“I-, I…” Kabukimono struggled to find the words to describe his current state. All he felt was hot, hot, hot from the simple yet affectionate gesture. But the patient smile you gave him was comforting. “I feel very happy, and my mouth hurts from smiling so much. And my body is getting hot like I said before.”
“I see,” you nodded in understanding. You released his hands from yours, much to Kabukimono’s disappointment, but then you placed your hand on his cheek, immediately bringing back his giddiness. “What about now?”
“I feel so…” The puppet was cut off as your thumb suddenly moved to trace your lip. “Ah, it feels like my chest is going to explode!” You chuckled at his simplicity as you removed your hands from him.
“And you’re absolutely sure you only feel this way towards me?” Kabukimono shook his head rapidly.
“No! No, no one else. No one else comes close to you,” he declared, intent on making himself clear, still in awe at the tingly feeling your thumb left on his lips. Your heart sped up from his unintentional adorableness.
“Well, I think I know what you’ve been inflicted with,” you nodded in response. “Yes, it’s quite obvious to me now.” Kabukimono leaned in more, curiosity taking over his body. He was so interested to hear what a smart human like you would say.
“You’re not sick, Kabukimono. You’re simply feeling a rather intense emotion,” you said slowly, hoping not to confuse him. “You are in love,” you finished. Kabukimono’s face was frozen in shock, only a slight shaking of his mouth and eyes could differentiate him from a statue.
“Love… love, i-is that what this is…?” His voice had come to almost a whisper. “Love, like how those married couples love each other?” Suddenly the mental image of him kissing and holding you appeared in his mind and would not leave. “Love!” The puppet could not help but repeat the lovely word again and again. But then a realization hit him and his excitement came to a screeching halt.
“But love… love needs more than one person, does it not? You need to… oh,” the reality of the situation hurt him. Surely you would never return his love. Surely you were interested in someone else, someone who was human. He was just a no-good puppet. Quickly you found your words to comfort him.
“No, no, no, Kabukimono. Look at me, pretty. Please don’t look so forlorn. You need not worry, as I love you too. I love you with my whole heart,” you stated matter-of-factly, in a way that could not be disputed.
It felt like something was stuck in Kabukimono’s throat, as he found it hard to push words out. “You… love me?” You vigorously nodded in confirmation. “You love me,” he repeated as if saying it more and more would help it settle in. “You love me… such an amazing person loves me…”
You squeezed his hand in response. “Yes, I love you dearly, Kabukimono. I want us to be together,” you said softly. The puppet’s mouth opened and closed, not sure how to even respond to such tenderness. But what ended up coming out was a pitiful sob and streaming tears.
“Thank you for teaching me… thank you for loving me. I don’t know how I could-” The boy’s words began to slur as he cried. Although he loved you dearly, Kabukimono’s mind could only think about how you could abandon him as his creator did. Would you soon deem him unworthy or not good enough, and leave him too? You were taken aback at this drastic change in behavior but quickly pulled him into the reassuring warmth of your chest. You now understood what Niwa meant when he said he was an emotional puppet.
“Hey, hey, deep breaths, okay?” You rubbed Kabukimono’s back in gentle motions as you instructed him. “In, out… in, out, okay…?” The puppet followed your directions and with time, his sobs lessened and now he was a curled-up quiet mess that was in your arms. He would not move away from your chest, and you would be more concerned but you knew he did not need to breathe.
“You don’t need to apologize or thank me for anything. I don’t know what you’ve been through, but… I will always be here for you. You are a beautiful, kind soul. I am so happy to love you, my dearest,” you whispered, stroking his hair in a further attempt to calm him. The puppet almost felt like bawling again at your sincerity, but your voice was such a soft lull, all he wanted to do was take a break in your embrace.
“I love you, [Name]...” Kabukimono mumbled softly, as he fell asleep right there on your chest, knowing that he would be blessed with dreams with you instead of his abandonment.

Mondstadt was far too peaceful, compared to the modern world of your planet. There was more greenery, more land to run around and just sit back and relax, trees and flowers weren't withered or tainted with cement...
And now, you were taking your words back as fast as Usain Bolt once ran.
Perhaps the outside of the city was just as you described, but the city? The City was the worst.
Children crying and screaming, people flocking around you and exclaiming their gratitude, elders praising you for your strength and beauty while telling how pretty and strong children you would have, how you were one of the fairest and most fierce maidens of the city and how blessed you were for having a face very similar to their Champion...
Aether's situation was worst, as he was soon surrounded with the teens of Mondstadt who had literal heart eyes for him, staring at his naked abdomen time to time as he blushed deeply while trying not to break anyone's heart...
You were starting to reconsider your early thought of settling here one day.
Your brain was turned into a puddle of jello, their constant talking doing nothing to relax your already throbbing head. Not even rubbing your temples worked, something that eased your school stress which often made your poor nape throb.
And the only way to just ease your poor abused mind, was to come to the Windrise where it was most peaceful with the almost-there hum of the nature and the huge tree
"Don't you think Lisa and Amber are like sisters?" you casually tell to Aether while extending a hand to touch the branch above your head as the shorter male looks up at you from the food he was eating, a kind of sandwich from your world that he was sure he would beg you to prepare more often.
It was one of the best snacks he ever had, and even tasted...familiar.
"Why do you say so?" He raised his brows with a questioning look, already preparing to hear yet another bizarre thing out of your mouth like you usually did whenever you were too bored, while wiping the leftovers on his lips with a napkin you offered so that he didn't use his dirty hands like an uncultured boy.
Nah uh, not on your watch.
" Amber does all of Lisa's footwork. Elder sisters also ask, rather demand, their little sibling to do something for them to laze around." You hummed all-too-knowingly with a shrug, slapping the branch softly with a smile.
He only hummed for a few seconds, pondering for an answer while looking through his previous memories with his sister. Although he forgot most of his memories, he was still able to remember Lumine and all the bickering they did.
And that alone put a smile on his face.
"Hmm... Since me and my sister are the same age, we always used to decide with playing rock, paper and scissors. How about you Y/N?"
"Oh... Uh, It's actually... Something I really don't want to talk about." you trailed off, clear discomfort written on your face as you and Aether sat side by side with Paimon laying on the green field like a starfish, looking up at the Tree of Vanessa and watching the slimes slowly go away to their path, totally unaware of the awkwardness that hung on the air.
But you also knew, from the almost teary eyes Aether had that he missed Lumine and needed to just vent... Even if you didn't wish to speak of your life back on Earth.
"How about Lumine? How is she like?" you asked him with a sigh, tightening your hold on your folded legs and resting your head on your knees as you turned your head to look at him with a soft smile. From what you vaguely knew, while Aether was a sunshine and more approachable due to his cute and round face, Lumine seemed more calm and collected and more likely to beat someone up and not be sorry.
Though she also had her soft and loving moments occasionally. As a matter of fact, you saw yourself in her even when you hadn't actually met her yet... A girl, looking so tough and strong, also sarcastic and funny in her own way, but is actually very vulnerable and in dire need of someone understanding her struggles and pain, and still loving and being there for her.
You could have become such good friends with her...
But you just... couldn't help wondering what happened to them. Why were they there? What did they see or experience enough to leave this world in a hurry? Why the Gods of this world didn't leave them be? What was beyond what others saw in them?
What did the Celestia plan for them this time?
You widened your eyes as your heart started beating erratically, all the while trying not to alert Aether, who was looking at the horizon, from your sudden fear, your mind was suddenly blank at what just crossed your mind. What was even this Celestia you just said? And what did it mean "this time"? You were so sure that you didn't know this world, you couldn't possibly know anything since you just started playing the game and getting into the lore, watching theory edits and such.
And you definitely hadn't read any books about the history of this world either. Then what was that sudden thought thar crossed your mind? Why did it sound like you knew this would happen and this Celestia?
The only thing you had gotten close to knowing about this world was that time when you first met Storm Terror and... a strange bard who talked to that dragon...
Who stared at you with a shocked face, eyes wide with terror and sadness as he looked at you tearfully, as if he had seen his lost lover after years of death taking his love away.
As if a war had wracked both him and whatever he held dear to himself forever to not give what he once blissfully had but never realized it. As if he had seen the ghost of a friend, or a lover right before him when he thought he would never.
Why am I thinking about such things? I mean sure, he was pretty cute with his big green and turquoise eyes and I literally felt my heart broke for him after he made such a kicked puppy face but... I don't even know him! Who is he anyways, and why do I feel like I know both him and that dragon? Why did such a terrifying creature literally whined at the first sight of me?
And your eyes just drifted up, where a land was floating slowly above, close to Mondstadt as if flauntly, as if to showcase its own power, to tell the humans below that they were the ones in power and that they could end them with just one single blow...
Arrogant jackasses... Those fucking, good for nothing Gods, thinking so highly of themselves yet still hiding...
Something inside of you told you that for whatever reason, you would see both that bard and dragon once again and then, you could demand some answers from him. Maybe it was a bit harsher than usual saying in such situation where you didn't even know that bard and therefore couldn't have any problem to begin with but, could anyone blame you for your fear, nerves and behaviour when you didn't know anything and anyone, not even about your travelling partners?
So, as weird as this whole situation was and you were getting the creeps because of it as if you were being watched, you were still happy to be here with Aether and hopefully learn more about him and his sister.
Maybe I could become friends with her too when all this ends and we find her? I wonder what she likes though, I hope she doesn't beat me up because I would be really sad but happy to be beaten by a strong, pretty-
At his silence that made the little balloon in your mind pop, which was enough to tell you that he wasn't ready to talk about her yet, you pondered for another way for him to open up without causing discomfort to him.
"What... exactly happened when you wanted to get out, Aether? And above all, why did you want to get out in a hurry?" you asked softly, not wanting to startle and trigger him since his eyes seemed lost as he concentrated on somewhere far away and also, not to dive deep in your own thoughts of being beaten by strong and pretty women.
He turned to you when he heard your voice after minutes of silence, focusing on your eyes as he shrugged his shoulders. He trully didn't remember much, he even barely remembered telling you that he and his sister was leaving in a hurry.... Perhaps, it was another play of that Unknown God to make him weaker, to enslave him forever.
He was going to have his revenge oh so badly, he swore it.
"I don't remember... All I remember is that feeling of panic and fear before the Unknown God came and another shooting star protected us before everything went black and I woke up near that shore."
You nodded your head absentmindedly, plucking a Windwheel Aster to play with as your mind played the familiar screen play where you needed to choose one twin over the other to save.
Which was just a while ago before you suddenly woke up here.
However, it was strange enough that there was a shooting star which protected them from the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles, Asmoday, though he was yet to know her true name. From someone way too powerful than anyone on Teyvat, even the Archons.
But yet again, it was only normal. Archons were once normal Gods who lived in Celestia, before whatever it was that resulted in the ruined buildings, abandoned castles and desolate lands all across this vast world.
Yet...
Since the world was changing with your presence here, obviously since you were not from the game and lore... Would you dare to change the destiny of this world? Of all the people you will meet, of Aether and Lumine? Of Paimon on who you had no idea over as to what or who she is?
Do you dare to go against Celestia, as a human who didn't have a chance against Them even when a God had a slim one at deceiving and fighting that power?
These were definitely not in the game... Just what else is different than the game version?
Apart from the uncertainty this new reveal brought to you, which was initially another side that excited you, life in Mondstadt was... Peaceful for the most part.
It seems their Archon did a good job with maintaining what they were created for: Freedom.
Even imagining what future days may hold for you in this city, the secrets those ruins held, the kind of history they hid and what you could discover there filled you with a buzzing feeling that almost made you shake with excitement. After all, playing through a screen and actually witnessing them were way different.
Spoiler alert: You didn't like those Ruin Guards.
But even amidst your happiness, the one feature you had thanks to your more shy and reserved self back in your world since no one really paid attention to you started working: Picking on the mood of people close to you.
And in this case, it was Aether who was your stark contrast, sitting with a face close to breaking apart.
At first glance, Aether almost seemed like he didn't care about what happened to him. His eyes were hard most of the times, even when he didn't talk about his sister, and since he was kind of selectively mute because he didn't understand Teyvat language and you and Paimon were the ones who talked to him and communicated with others in his stead, that's why people often thought of him to be too harsh and hard to get close to.
If only they knew how wrong they were, if only they knew he had such a golden heart as you stared at his teary golden orbs as the boy slowly broke apart after months of being alone.
"And just like that... I lost both my sister and powers as some kind of seal was casted upon me and now, we are trapped here." Aether spoke out in a whisper, too low for you to hear had you been a few meters away from him as he clenched his hands angrily, veins popping up by the sheer force he applied at remembering the smug face of that Unknown God that trapped him here.
You always knew how lonely and hard it must be for Aether, with no one else to talk to like you did and no one to spend time casually with. Humans, whether on Earth or some other universe, always needed to be social whether they liked it or not. The humankind had always been that way, always seeking out closure and companionship and never wanting to be alone. If asked "What do you fear the most?", most people here would answer with "Archons." probably with "being alone" being the second most given answer.
But Aether had been alone for the longest time and possibly fought with many Gods in other worlds and this one, just to get out of here with his sister.
He experienced all the fears of ordinary people.
Paimon could always fly to wherever she wanted and eat without a problem, and even go for her own journey if she wanted. You could always ask for help from people and even hang out with them freely without worrying about anything and there wouldn't be a huge language barrier between you and them as well, unlike a certain short blondie.
Paimon could find another travelling buddy, you could settle down here and even build a new life for yourself.
Aether had no one and no way to do such things.
How could I be so stupid to not see this before?! He must have felt too bad as I hung out with Kaeya! Like a lonely kitten only wanting its owner..!
"You know... You are not alone here." you tentatively spoke, after internally scolding yourself for being carried away from the excitement of being in Mondstadt, carefully weighing your words as you slowly touched his hand, to which he lifted his head slowly in shock and stared at your star-shaped eyes that seemed to captivate him even more with each day.
"What do you mean? Have I suddenly started to understand their language or something?" he sarcastically asked with a slight hint of amusement, which he only did with you and not Paimon because your reactions were better, making you sigh out and pinch his cheeks harshly with a giggle as you cooed at his flustered state.
"Getting sarcastic now, are we? Oh my, I didn't know you had that side of you!" he rolled his eyes sarcastically at your dramatic gesture, swatting your hand away. But as the noisy little shit you were, you kept pestering him and nudge him with a wide smile that Aether couldn't dare to erase.
Enjoyment, nowadays, was hard to find for him after all.
He continued to look at you and listen to you excitedly talk, even though he knew it was because of your nerves by how hard you were chewing on your lips and fiddling with your fingers. Unaware, you kept on talking while putting stray hairs behind your ear to push them aside, all futile attempts too mask your nervousness from what you were about to stay...
And whether they would come off as offensive.
"I mean, obviously, me and Paimon can't be like your sister and we absolutely have no intention to do so but we are your friends. If you have something troubling you, you come to us. If you want to talk about anything, absolutely anything, you come to me. Because let's be real, Paimon would probably pull it towards foods and I'm rambling but you got the idea-
"Thank you... Y/N..."
"And I mean, I know I could be very-wait, what?"
You stammered nervously in shock at what left Aether's mouth so softly with a deep emotion, not expecting the chuckle that left his lips breathlessly next at your shock. His giggle was really cute, something that eased your worried heart and almost made you think everything was back to normal and that you two were just simple people hanging out together and not trying to roam this world for a way to get out.
But he was trully grateful, grateful for your attempts of making him feel better, always looking out for ways to look after him, being his friend...
Everything.
"I know you don't trust us yet, but I can assure you that as long as I am alive, I'll make sure you see your sister again and travel worlds again." you finalized what you had to say with a firm yet soft pat on Aether's back, promising him just like the time you had to choose one of them with a heavy heart and let the other be taken.
Like the first time you felt like a true villain.
Aether only gave you a wide yet tearful smile as he nodded his head, the light of the Sun of Teyvat hitting on both of your skins and making them appear to be so soft that you almost thought it was coming behind a silk cloth.
After all, he wasn't going to be alone anymore... After fighting his demons in the dead of the night for so long, without anyone really understanding his struggles...
He now had another friend, another one who understood him and how traumatic it was to be trapped in a completely foreign world.
Seeing you finally broke every kind of ice between you two, and since you didn't want to be sad all day when the weather was so nice, you hugged him tightly from his shoulders with a wide smile, opening your palm to show the vast greenery before you which was a blessing of Mondstadt and their Archon... well, whoever that fucker was now.
"Besides! You can't really get rid of me that easily! I have this bad habit of never separating from those I deem very close," you whispered the last part almost threateningly, leaning closer to his ear with a hand covering your mouth and his ear as if there was someone that could hear you, unaware of the heavy blush covering his whole face while he avoided looking down at your lips unconsciously...
A sudden, soft murmur broke you two apart harshly.... And saved Aether from the embarrassment by giving him enough time to dip his whole face to the cold water at the Windrise.
" So, does this make you and Aether my siblings, Y/N?" you flinched when you heard the childish yet sleepy voice of Paimon suddenly, who grew on you even if she sometimes got on your nerves. She was stretching as much as her tiny body would allow, slapping her lips loudly as she yawned and looked around with wide and curious eyes as if she wasn't here hours before she slipped into a deep slumber
Nonetheless, you couldn't help but coo at her cute question with a hand over your chest as Aether chuckled next to you while looking at Paimon who was sitting in front of you both before patting her head and confirming her...
Well, that was before she decided to become a little menace to you once again.
"Wait, wha- Aww you are so cute for-"
"Since you do all the footwork and I float-"
A cheeky grin from her as you groaned.
"Are you fucking serious right now?" An irritated scowl was plastered on your face with brows raised in question at the floating emergency food, the latter wheezing at the expression of your face while Aether tried to cover his giggles to be spared from your wrath ( which only earned him a slap to the back of his head because how dare he get satisfaction from such thing!).
But as much as betrayed you were from Paimon fooling you, it was also... kind of funny, what she said. She was really like a kid who didn't have a filter on her mouth and mind, never knowing when and what was the appropriate time to say something... That was perhaps what made her endearing in your eyes.
"Come on, Y/N, I can see your smile! I know you found it funny!"
"...Maybe, yes, it was funny." you grumbled to which they let out a loud yay! and you smiled at their enthusiasm with tired yet content eyes as silence settled once again. Paimon eyed you and Aether for a few seconds, admiring how pretty and strong you looked as you allowed Aether to lean his whole weight onto you and laid his head comfortably on your shoulder while she wasn't in any different position as she laid across your lap, with your hand slowly caressing her hair and pat her head.
For some reasons, you always gave off of a comforting vibe ever since they saw you or well, you saw them, timidly getting close to them to ask if you could sit with them near the fire they had built, promising that you wouldn't hurt them. They were suspicious at first just as any normal person would be, but Aether couldn't find it in his heart to decline you when you looked so helpless, just like he first woke up in Mondstadt apparently and didn't know anything, desperately in need of help.
You reminded him of himself, helpless and unaware of the dangers that laid ahead.
What sealed the deal for you and them, since they had eyed you all throughout the night for any suspicious move, and since Aether was laying down from the deep cut he got from his abdomen and bleeding, but was only met with a happy tune you muttered under your breath while getting warm with a contented smile, was how easily you got up and drew your dual blades- which they soon learnt them to be actually a spear that could be connected to each other- to protect them from a horde of hilichurls and even two Abyss Mages, with burning red and blue flames engulfing your blades and later the enemy.
The only thing you gave to them that night was a serene smile as you pointed to his wound with a worried expression, which made them both wince with guilt from how badly they thought of you when you only cared to protect them.
"Your wound looks bad... I have some ointments I made myself and I know how to sew a wound, letting it stay open like that would surely make it get infected. If you allow me, may I help you, young travellers who helped me?" and then a gorgeous smile that captured them.
And as you prepared everything while making small talk with Aether to draw his attention elsewhere from the numbing pain of his wound, initially learning you both were not from this world, that was when your fates aligned together which would change the fate of all of the Teyvat.
Suddenly, you three had become each other's companions and the others' everything.
And as she laid on your lap comfortably Paimon felt... bad and even saddened for you, feeling like crying suddenly as she stared at your protective hold on both of them even while you rested, being completely exposed to any kind of danger, although they knew there were no hilichurls or Abyss Mages close by.
You have always been there for both of them, protected them even when you barely knew them, patched them up, cooked them food and even gave some of yours to Paimon because she loved that particular dish so much or to Aether both because he was hurt and he was usually the one who did most of the work and needed energy more than you...
You have always been sacrificing something for them and what had they ever done to repay beck for all the kindness and love you gave them?
So far, nothing... They didn't exactly have a lot of Mora , even with new commissions they were taking and besides, you always refused to have a share of it since you three needed to either buy food or medicinal items and strictly prohibited them from buying anything for you like a mother scolding her children from spending too much for them.
"I don't need anything to know that you care for me and love me, sillies! Just be happy, healthy and make sure to not hurt yourselves too much and we're fine! Seriously, you are giving me grey hairs..."
Perhaps they couldn't show their love however they wanted to, per your orders, but she could definitely tell you how much you and Aether meant for her!
"Besides the footwork joke... Paimon never really had a family, or at least doesn't remember having one. So, Paimon is very happy to have such strong and caring siblings!" she smiled serenely, genuinely as she tilted her head to look up at you both, knowing full well that neither of you were actually sleeping from the small smiles you both supported. She nuzzled closer to your lap happily with a relaxed sigh, not caring whether you heard or not because she was so damn sure you did.
Paimon really could be so damn adorable when she wanted....
She didn't have to know, but both you and Aether were keeping your eyes closed just so that Paimon wouldn't get worried because of the tears that blurred your visions from what she said so earnestly, her touching words reaching the depths of your heart.
"We really are a strange Trio, huh? Two Outlanders, one pixie baby who refuses to be our little emergency food-" you idly sighed out with hands smoothing down their hair gently, making them both sigh and nuzzle closer to you... Though Paimon was just a tiny bit agitated because of what you said about her.
"For God's sake, come on!" you giggled in the most evil way possible at her growing irritation and kicking her legs up in the air angrily but continued anyways with little to no care.
Hah, that's what you get for always teasing me!
"One can easily understand this world's weird language and also the language of his other outlander companion, but doesn't have any other super powers-"
"They are called Visions!"
"And even so, it seems that some people noticed our strange behaviour..." You mumbled to yourself in worry as your hand momentarily stopped in mid-action, head lifting up to look at the city far from you three, standing on the lake and bustling with energy.
Oh yes, Lisa and Jean had their own suspicions about your powers. Both you and Aether seemed like normal people on the outside, but Aether could easily use Anemo vision and not get affected by the venomous tears of the dragon Dvalin.
And you? You used a different, much more powerful kind of fire than anyone else, wielded a long and heavy spear (something less than 3 people or so did in Mondstadt), and somehow... Understood Teyvat language and Aether's mother tongue without any difficulties even when you weren't from either one of the worlds.
"It's still very strange. Even if It's obvious they are exceptional and strong people, neither Y/N nor Aether seems to be affected by Dvalin's tear..." Jean mumbled curiously from her position near the window, staring sternly at you two as you shuffled closer to Aether to shield him and Paimon. That was, until your attention was taken away by Lisa who circled around you like a predator does to its prey, a finger touching your chin and turning your head to her direction flirtitously with a slight pout.
"Besides, StormsTerror seemed much calm and soft when its eyes landed on our cutie Y/N... I wonder why, have you ever interacted with a dragon before perhaps?"
To be honest, you also didn't have the answer for that. While you were floating up in the air with Aether, cross firing at the vicious dragon to stop it from harming the City....
You felt a sudden sting deep in your heart which threatened to tear you apart when its eyes found yours.
And no, it wasn't because of the glider Amber gifted you weighing on your back, making it harder to breathe since you weren't used to... floating.
It was as if you were hurting a very dear old friend, a family that was once your everything and a part of your soul.
Besides that chest piercing pain you still continued to experience even after that dragon flew away, what was that mysterious voice that helped easing your scared heart as the wind gently caressed your whole body and mostly face, as if phantom fingers rubbed your cheeks and head to map your whole face, and helped you with making StormsTerror leave Mondstadt for some time right after helping Aether with some shitty Mages that appeared out of nowhere?
Don't worry Windblume, I won't let you go. Not this time... Now concentrate and feel the wind in your veins just like you did before...
It was so soft, so loving yet... Also so pained, so hollow as if he missed a great part of him, as if he was trying to make up for a mistake he has done as you felt a sudden surge of power in you, a sweet pain on your back and just like that...
Five Mages were down with a flick of your spear.
"I just hope we didn't make their job harder than before with our presence..." You sighed after a long while, those thoughts still lingering at the back of your head and tapped their heads gently to get them to move since the sun was slowly setting and you needed to go back to the city where Jean kindly prepared a room for you three in the headquarter... After she asked what you needed since you three saved the city.
All of you first declined, but after Paimon and Aether left the room completely, you turned to Jean and with a stern face, asked for only a room which Aether would never have even a speck of information about you asked for it.
Fortunately, she understood your reasoning and with a kind smile, and even more respect growing in her for you, she offered whichever room you wished to have alongside new clothes and three courses of meal and told Aether that it was a "special thank you to the Honarary Knights from the Knights of Fovanius" and to have both of you closer in case of emergency.
Thank her and her brains, no wonder she is the Dandelion Knight and the Acting Grand Master...
"But just as Amber said, the number of hilichurls and Abyss Mages decreased significantly! Paimon wonders if it has something to do with Aether or Y/N!" Paimon exclaimed curiously as she watched you pack up and usher them both to go to their merry way as you turned abruptly, pointing to your chest unbelievingly and looking around.
"Me? Why though?"
She kicked her legs up in the air frustratedly, swiping her palm through the air and showing the nature around her as if it was an obvious fact and you were a fool for not seeing it....
And you trully didn't get it.
Seeing your confusion, Aether chuckled as he lead Paimon to float before you two started bickering again as he started to explain as much as he could.
"They always liked hanging out with you and even protected you... An insane part of me even thinks that they know you're in Mondstadt and therefore, don't want to disturb you since they know you are safe and happy."
Life truly didn't turn out the way Aether had wanted, and probably would never. His life had taken a sharp tune as soon as he and Lumine chose this world to travel next and... All of you knew how it ended.
But now, it wasn't so bad like it used to be months ago. Every day, even every hour, he was met with yet another extraordinary person or habit and it intrigued him a lot. Learning all about the people of Teyvat, what they did for living and their history, hanging out with people... He loved doing all those things, it made him feel like he was back to being the previous Aether before all the chaos happened.
Even though he knew he shouldn't get too attached and form bonds that would be broken in the end inevitably... when he finds his sister and leave the world behind. But maybe... Maybe he could get to bring you and Paimon with himself too? It wasn't like you couldn't, you definitely could land on another world since you were also an Outlander. There was a chance that Paimon couldn't, since he still didn't know of her origins, but he would fight Gods and Archons if he needed, so that he could keep his family together.
His sister, who was the literal half of his soul. Paimon who was always there to help him out and make him enjoy the life Teyvat could offer while guiding him and you... You, who always had tragic yet also comedic stories to tell them from your world whenever they get uncomfortable in some ways. You, who roasted people with your sharp tongue and quick mind, while being a total menace and gremlin, whenever they didn't take no for an answer since Aether didn't want to offend anyone and just did everything they wanted as the "helpful boy" he always was...
or whenever people didn't believe him whenever he said he was probably a lot older than their Archon because of his young, baby face.
Oh yeah... He was very doomed as he already got attached to you and the floating baby you always sweetly called.
"If you can consider being in a city where people worship 'The Champion' that eerily looks like me who fought alongside Barbatos for many times and face a huge statue of the said-champion every day being happy and safe... Then yes, I definitely am!"
Aether snorted at the sarcastic answer he got from you and the dramatic flip of your hair, not being able to help the fake-disappointed shake of his head as he watched you fondly with hands on either sides of his hip.
"What am I going to do with you?"
"Probably bear with me and my awesome self and amazing jokes, and also love me!" You turned around with a gleeful smile, hair floating up and dress swiping through the sudden wind that engulfed you softly and in that moment, he wished that the smile you always had would never disappear.
That you wouldn't loose the happiness and hope blossoming in your eyes with each new day greeting you.
And he thought, whatever strange things revolved around you and the mysteries even you didn't know about yourself...
He would always be there for you, just like you did and will continue to do with him.
You would get to solve all the mysteries and puzzles about just who this "Champion" was and their link to you. Meet and demand answers from that Archon about his sister and the Champion whom he was always depicted together with and maybe... Maybe, at least one of you would be able to get rid of that fog which clouded your memories.
And with that, three of you entered the safety of the walls of the City of Freedom once again... A place where you already started calling "home".
Unaware of what was waiting for your group in the headquarters.

Aemond just wants his beautiful silver-haired cousin to sit on his face. That's it and that's all.
Mid-way through writing, I realized Rhaenyra’s kids were Aemond’s nephews/nieces. My mistake. His cousin would be...Daemon and Laena’s kids? I’m confused
Warnings: smut, oral (f receiving)
Tumblr media
Aemond was known to be a reserved man, but the things he kept the most secret were his fantasies. Especially the ones involving his older sister's daughter. He’s tasted her lips once when they were children — just a sweet and quick peck between kids —, before Rhaenyra moved her family Dragonstone. Now, she’s grown into a beautiful young woman and Aemond has been dreaming of tasting the rest of her ever since he saw her at court beside her brothers.
Unlike them, and strangely enough, unlike your twin brother Jacaerys, you had gotten your mother’s hair color and violet eyes. You were beauty and elegance — like your mother —, but also a skilled sword-fighter — like your father.
Although you didn’t need his help, Aemond was ready to pull out his sword at anyone who dared calling you a bastard at court during your visit. Who your father was was none of their business. Like your mother always said, you were a Targaryen and loved and that’s all that mattered.
‘’Would Lady Y/N like to accompany me for a glass of wine?’’ Aemond asked after dinner, the both of you finding yourself going up the stairs at the same time.
You raised an eyebrow, already giggly from the wine you had during dinner. ‘’More wine? I don’t think I’ll be able to stand on my feet if I indulge in another.’’
‘’We could…sit and admire the stars from my balcony? I have been blessed with one of the best views in the castle.’’
You and Aemond didn't do a lot of star watching. He showed you his balcony and the stars that littered the night sky, but seeing him in the moonlight glow made you want to do other kinds of activities.
Your mouth found his while he was telling you about a constellation. Your action took Aemond off guard, but he didn’t push you away, instead responding by putting his hands on your waist — respectfully. You didn’t want him to be respectful though. You wanted him to push you against the door of the balcony and unlace the laces of your dress before guiding you to his bed and taking your maidenhood.
‘’Sit on my face.’’
You pulled back a little, surprised such crude words came from Aemond's mouth. ‘’I beg your pardon?’’
‘’Sit. On. My. Face.’’ The blond prince cleared his throat, forgetting something. ‘’Please.’’
You erupted into giggles. His politeness always made you laugh.
‘’What’s funny?’’ Aemond asked, all serious.
Shaking your head, you stepped away, going back inside and taking Aemond with you. Slowly, you began shedding layers. Your boots and long socks, then your dress — with Aemond's help for the laces. Aemond removed his coat and belt, spent a full nervous minutes working on the laces of his boots, then peeled off his chemise, revealing his perfectly toned chest.
Your mouth water at the sight and you felt a wetness pooling between your cunt's folds, forcing you to clench your thighs. Fuck. He hadn't even taken his pants off yet…
Before he could do so, Aemond’s eye fell on you, admiring your woman's body. The last time he saw you, your breasts were flat and you didn't have hair in lower places — not that Aemond had ever looked there before. He just knew it grew there during puberty.
Taking a step closer, Aemond gently brushed his thumb over your peaked nipples. He had seen women’s breasts before — many, much to his disgust —, but yours were much prettier.
Your cheeks were burning from his touch. It was the first time a man saw you naked, the first time a man touched your naked body. It’s okay to be a little shy.
‘’Beautiful,’’ Aemond pointed, shifting his eye up to yours.
You avert your eyes away. ‘’Aemond…’’
‘’I speak the truth.’’ His hands descended down your sides, your skin so soft beneath his palms. ‘’You’re the fairest lady in the whole of Westeros.’’ He placed a kiss on your neck and then your jaw, making you melt into his touch.
You wrapped your arms around his shoulders and neck, trapping him into keeping going with his kisses. Your breasts were pressed against his chest, warm and soft. Aemond brought his lips to yours, and you let out a small, whiny moan against his lips.
Reluctantly, you detached yourself from him and sat on the bed, noticing how perfectly tucked the sheets were. You almost felt bad for creasing them.
You looked up at Aemond with innocent eyes, the ache between your thighs starting to get uncomfortable. ‘’Do you plan on standing there all night?’’
Aemond's cheeks flushed. ‘’I’ve never done this before,’’ he confessed, a little embarrassed. ‘’I just…really want to kiss you there, to lick you there.’’
‘’It’s alright.’’ You gave him a reassuring smile and reached for his hand. ‘’We can learn together.’’
Aemond nodded and gracefully climbed on the bed, then beckoned you over to sit at his shoulder's height. He swallowed a growl, your needy pussy so close to his face.
‘’What if I accidentally suffocate you?’’
The genuine worry in your voice was sweet, but Aemond was not worried one bit. He could handle it. He could handle you.
He placed his hands over your thighs and tenderly caressed the warm flesh, catching your attention and making you look down at him. ‘’You won't do such thing.’’
Despite Aemond's reassuring words, you were still nervous to sit on his face — as any first-timer would. You tried to keep your weight on your knees and over over him, your cunt directly on top of his lips, but Aemond saw through your plan and pulled you down. Before you could protest, he parted his lips and stuck his tongue out, swiping it between your folds and tasting you for the first time with a happy hum, double checking that fantasy of his.

I know Silm tells us essentially that Nerdanel was a moderating force on Feanor, but I refuse to believe she was the “holder of the brain cell” as the current fandom phrasing goes, or the Only Sane Man in the house. #1 because I don’t think someone like that would have married a person like Feanor in the first place; and #2 because it’s just boring as fuck imo
Silm also tells us that Nerdanel was basically the only one to ever change Feanor’s mind through counsel, and that they were “companions on many journeys” and that it was only his later deeds that “grieved her.” Which idk doesn’t sound to me like a description of someone who spent her whole time in this relationship demanding Feanor behave more responsibly and trying to reign in his passions. Feanor and Nerdanel’s relationship is, in my view, very much posited as a love story of equals. Other details we know are that a) Feanor married young (no comment on Nerdanel’s age iirc); and b) His choice in spouse was surprising to the rest of the Noldor. This has always suggested, to me, that Feanor fell very hard and very fast for Nerdanel, and that he was convinced she was The One, and that their relationship was formed on a deep understanding of each other as people. Feanor didn’t care that Nerdanel was “not the fairest of her people” or that as the crown prince of the Noldor, he could perhaps have cast a much wider net in a search for a spouse. Furthermore, because Elves don’t seem to marry for politics, Nerdanel had no serious motivation to agree unless she also wanted to get married.
Which brings me to my main point: Nerdanel saw Feanor’s slightly unhinged behavior and went “damn that’s pretty hot.” You will never convince me that Feanor’s burning passions aren’t exactly what attracted Nerdanel to him in the first place. Yes they make him hot-tempered and impulsive and occasionally (self-) destructive, but they also make him interesting. Feanor feels so much about everything and his deep need and desire to create and to understand and better the world around him was precisely what made Nerdanel take another look at him. She could get underneath the prickliness to the artist, the scholar, and she loved those things, and maybe she even loved how much he rejected anyone’s efforts to make him quiet down or behave differently, to make himself more likeable. They had seven kids together--which, iirc, is the most kids of any Elven couple in Arda--ever. Is that not supposed to be indicative of the passion these two held for each other?
And frankly, I would also buy she willingly took his side in most family feuds, even when she knew Feanor was being unreasonable, and furthermore, that she found a great deal of his disruptive behavior entertaining. Anaire and Earwen can try to convince her to push Feanor to apologize to Fingolfin for his latest Incident, but is she going to? Not unless Feanor’s done something really outrageous. Otherwise, she probably can’t even get through telling him “that was really unnecessary” without laughing. Nerdanel, apologize for Feanor’s behavior? Not likely!
Nerdanel acted as a moderating force on Feanor in that I think he was just calmer around her. He’s a very volatile person and we know that he never meshed well with his step-family and possibly felt out of place generally owing to Miriel’s fate, but I think with Nerdanel it felt like he had found a place. She understood him and they were partners and they were going to do this Life thing together. With Nerdanel, I think he began from a more relaxed, less reactive place, which had a corresponding impact on his behavior. And of course, because he felt Nerdanel understood him (and liked him), and he respected and loved her, he was willing to listen to her counsel (sometimes) when he would take no one else’s.
Lastly, the idea of Nerdanel spending hundreds or thousands of years as Feanor’s put-upon wife, trying to manage him and their seven children, essentially reduced to a Nagging Wife stereotype as she acts as the only restraint on him is just so boring and what an incredible, appalling waste of her character. Why don’t you just slap her down in a 1960s sitcom? I think Nerdanel deserves more than that. She had no reason to marry Feanor except that she wanted to, because she had spent a lot of time with him and she wanted him, she loved him, and she saw a future for them together, as partners.

An Ancient Tale
Part 1
Tumblr media
Writer!Yuu goes snooping and finds an interesting story they want to tell you.
I was looking around Crowley's office and found this dusty old book hidden in a secret compartment.
Don't ask why I was there.
Still I doubt he's read in a century so he won't miss it. Besides it's not a textbook it's a story book.
Let's see.
Once upon a time a child appeared. They came from a land far far away or perhaps another world.
They claimed that they were a traveler who was tasked to explore this world and learn all that it holds. They said they had explored many realms and would explore many more. But there was a problem when they fell to this world. They were separated from their friend, another traveler in this world. The traveler desperately wanted to find their friend to finished their task and move on to the next world.
The child of course had no actual knowledge of the world or its language at first. They roamed until they made it to the Court of Roses where the queen taught the child well.
Straight back, eyes forward, and absolutely no mumbling!
The child had to learn many things on a strict schedule from singing, baking, croquet and all things else the queen enjoyed. All was well until another child, a traveler from elsewhere came to wonderland.
The child had hoped it was their dear friend, but no such thing happened. This Alice child only created disorder and chaos where she went. The people of the kingdom frowned upon outsiders now and demanded that both children should leave and a new rule be made.
The queen had her pride but she was a good ruler at heart. Alice and the child were both banished but not without a plan.
The child would be sent far away to a friend and fellow queen.
The child stood before the queen of the fairies and displayed only the best manners as they told their story.
Perhaps the fae queen had a softer heart than what was told or perhaps she had bigger plans. Regardless she took pity on the child and let them stay at the castle. The child lived in a small room hidden in the back of the castle library where prying eyes wouldn't find them.
Every day the child studied under the queen. They traded their elaborate heart-red and rose-white gowns for black robes.
"Your Majesty, I still need to find my friend." The child said tugging on the gown of the fae queen.
The queen hummed in thought. She didn't want the child to go but the child's journey must continue.
The queen sent the child to a place where answers would be found. To the place of the Fairest Queen where the magic mirror would be found.
The child found that the witch queen had very high expectations and demanded perfection. The Fairest Queen wouldn't let the child ask the magic mirror anything until she saw that the child had earned it. So every day the child was set to work with tasks to be finished.
One day a strange man had been spotted in the courtyard while the young princess and the child had been cleaning. The man was quite scary to the child as he was strange and looked at them like meat.
The child fled the the queen's side and told her of what had happened.
The queen was smart and called the huntsman. She had known for some time that the princess's beauty was in fact a curse. As the princess grew the curse would become more powerful until the day she came of age and her beauty would cause men to literally rip her apart to get a piece of her. The queen checked the mirror every day to make sure the curse hadn't surpassed her own beauty as the most radiant woman in the land. She had covered her daughter in soot and grime to keep eyes off her as the queen worked on the cure for the curse but alas she had been found, now there was no telling what that man would do.
The queen had the princess taken away and ordered a pig to be slaughtered. The heart would be used to prove the princess was dead and not to look for her.
The child was sent away as well to pick magic apples as a last task.
"Listen to me child for I have words you must hear. In this world there are a great many blessings to be found but what may sound like a gift could easily be a curse. Be wary of all things gifted to you because only what you do by your own hands can be trusted." The queen said dipping the apples in the potion. " You and my daughter are alot alike she has always hated medicine so I'd often coat her favorite fruits with it."
The child saw how how much she cared no matter how it appeared like she didn't on the outside.
The queen was true to her promise and asked the magic mirror to show where the other traveler had gone. The mirror showed images of far-off sand dunes and a young man making his way through the land.
The child smiled and glee and thanked the queen who promised to send the child to an old friend of hers. He was the sorcerer of the sands.
When the child left for their journey the queen had mentioned being busy as she had to invade a kingdom of a man who had stolen her daughter.
The child was sent to the palace of the sultan where they had been ushered to the sorcerer's tower. There they learned the nature of humans. Sweet words disguised true intentions and being smart didn't always equal power, cunning is required to be heard.
The child posed as a ward of the Sorcerer and had to learn the ways of this ruthless land. They often took shelter inside to stay away from the dangerous streets. They would rather avoid losing a hand after being accused of stealing.
"Why doesn't the sultan do something?" The child asked.
The sorcerer grumbled before responding resolutely.
"He lives in ignorance. That is why am his vizier. However only so much can be done to stop disorder when your leader doesn't pay any attention."
The child didn't understand but listened to orders. They even listened to the constant complaints of the princess who they didn't understand either. She talked about leaving the palace constantly, not knowing just how good she had it there. Say what you want about a guided cage the child had known what it was like to be without food or clothes.
But that was long ago...when they were alone. Before their beloved friend found them and they journeyed here.
Still, the child could understand the princess's wanderlust even if the princess knew nothing of the world.
It wasn't long before the vizier planned to leave on a trip and the child begged to go as well. They wanted to search for their friend only to be brushed off and admonished for being impatient.
The child unwisely decided to sneak out of the palace themselves following the princess but lost her in the crowd.
The child ordered the guards to look for her.
But what twist of fate that when the child found not only the princess but a thief and...her friend!
It was clear to see that they had taken different paths. The child wore fine silks while they're friend wore clothes made for wondering the sands.
Their friend was equally happy to see them until the child asked for her friend to come with them but didn't trust the thief that was with them.
"He's my friend. You can't just judge him for his looks. Why are you siding with those guards?" He said staying close to the thief.
"Im not. He's a thief and he was found with the princess. He will be taken for questioning. I'll vouch for his innocence of kidnapping her highness. The vizier will handle this fairly." The child said gesturing to the guards.
The friends argued and neither seemed to understand the other. They had been divided by the customs of a land neither truly understood and adapted differently.
But the guards betrayed them both as they took both the thief and their friend away despite the child's protest.
Reluctantly the child and the princess were taken back to the palace. Both having been separated from someone they trusted.
When the sorcerer returned the child begged him to set her friend free from the dungeons. Of course when the cell was opened it was empty as her friend had escaped. As for the thief, that is another story about where he went.
Disheartened the child tried to understand, however they blamed the thief for everything. And they didn't like the Prince Ali fellow who arrived shortly after.
"Lies are the enemy of logic, child. The truly wise have no need of them." The Sorcerer said pulling the child away from the display of dancing elephants. "Without insight and consideration, you will become like the countless fools who fall for flashy and dangerous displays. Think about if you'll trust someone just because of a past friendship."
The child knew deep down her friend was still close but this place...this wasn't the right time. To much about this situation felt like a kettle boiling over.
They departed from the land of golden sand to return lands of the fey queen. They had to reconsider what comes next. On the morning of their departure a note was left on their pillow.
"I'm sorry. I know you were just doing what you thought was right. Don't worry, I'll find you again. I just have to finish what i started."
They left in a lighter mood.
They traveled for many days until they reached the docks to board a ship head for the Shaftlands.
But a storm struck and threw them overboard. Had it not been for the generosity of the sea witch who had saved them.
On a desolate rock the sea witch offered a deal to them so they could survive without dying there. The child could only offer their service to her as long as the sea witch protected them.
A deal was struck and the child gave up their legs to work for the sea witch.
It wasn't a bad life, they ran errands for their mistress in the coral city. But the kingdom was loud and bright filled with sycophants who were obsessed with beauty and song. Everyone was content to float away their days while those outside the city walls were the ones who hunted in the open sea and brought back the food they indulged in.
The poor child had no beautiful fins, only the visage of their mistress. The other children of the kingdom did not take kindly to their appearance and mocked their legs and colors along with their unfamiliarity with their customs.
When they would return to their cave home they would need comfort from their mistress.
"Don't listen to those sea urchins dear, you are very beautiful. Prettier then most of those fools with the most deep and vibrant colors ever seen. Our kind can change our colors as we wish which is more than they can do. Not to mention we are smarter too." She said seating the child a her boudoir.
The child watched their mistress make deals with the mers that left their golden city and every time they wished for petty things they could obtain themselves if they just tried. But no they wished for the easy solution but could not pay the price for it. Honestly, they likely had never been told no and their loves and the sea witch wasn't going to be the first.
One evening while her mistress was busy with of an important deal the child went out searching for oysters for dinner. A familiar face appeared, none other than her friend whose appearance had changed as well as he wore the tail of a dolphin of all things.
The excitement of reunion as crushed under the weight of previous events. Still they were happy to see one another.
"I can't wait to tell my mistress. She'd be pleased to meet you. I'll have to talk about our deal though." They said.
Their friend asked many questions but when they realized it was the sea witch they spoke of their expression went sour.
"She'll curse you if you do that. What made you crazy enough to make a deal with that hag!" He yelled.
"Well, she's treated me better than anyone down here. She saved me and I owe her. I like her." They said indignantly.
After arguing their friend swam away in a huff, however, the next day guards returned. Their intent was the apprehend the child for entering the city on behalf of the banished sea witch, something that wasn't actually a crime. During the chase, the child was wounded but thankfully escaped. What hurt most was that the person who was holding the spear to pin them down was none other then are frirend. As they returned to the cave their blood drew the attention of the sea witch who took pity on them.
"What hurts more than a wound is betrayal. I would know." She said wrapping the wound.
The sea witch said that they are served their purpose well but it was time to go.
"You are far too weak to survive the seas. You must go where your strength can grow."
The child was sent to the surface once more with a potion in hand.
When the found shore they drank the concoction and returned to human form. The land however was unfamiliar and they were now lost, alone and very naked.
Had it not been for the hyena people of the lands who found them they would surely have died. They fed and clothed them with what meager resources they had. In turn, the child helped how they could.
The child found kinship but missed their old life. They had once lived in palaces and courts but they had long since became an outcast. They also could clearly see that they were not so little as they once were, these years since their arrival in this world had welcomed change. They were reaching their teen years now but they were still too young for many things as the adults said.
Youthful courage is a powerful thing. So powerful the child desired to seek change from the royals who cared little for the hardworking hyenas and the other beasts they called scavengers. The other young beasts agreed as they protested. The child sought an audience with the king but was brushed aside but the king's brother listened even if half-heartedly at first. He said he cared but he had little power to change the king's mind. That was until the child told him their story of everything they had gone through.
Overnight the prince gathered the people of the slums and gave speeches and protested. The child had a new cause to believe in and fought for it. That is until everything went silent in the capital. The king was dead, an assassin had taken his life and the young prince was too young to rule. The royal family was wrecked with grief. The throne could only go to the king's brother who sent the young prince away to be protected until adulthood. The new king was more distant now but he never forgot his promise that all beasts would be equal whether they liked it or not. A new age would come to pass.
End of Part 1
The child had the fortune of being present at the coronation ball of the new king and like fate intended an old friend reared his head. This time the child did not fight. They simply accepted that this was how things were. Their friend tried to convince them not to side with a usurper and that this was against the order of things but they didn't listen.
They would never see eye to eye ever again.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
p — CHOI LINE × FEM!READER | g — fluff, suggestive, eah!au + soobin has princess charming!reader | w — yeonjun's is suggestive, a lot of destiny&fate talk, eah terms used
a/n — I couldn't get choi line and them as eah descendents out of my mind so lo and behold, I caved. never forgiving them for cancelling this show + posting cuz it's my bday we gon party like it's my bday
♡ DON'T FORGET TO READ TAEKAI'S VERSION !!
Tumblr media
YEONJUN, SON OF SLEEPING BEAUTY
rosy pink lips and a piercing gaze, choi yeonjun was the definition of the rose his mother was destined to represent. from his harsh grip on your waist to the soft, peppery kisses he'd leave on your neck when you'd sneak into his room after night curfew, choi yeonjun was casting a spell upon you. your heavy eyelids threatening to shut as he had his legs thrown over you while he spooned you, whispering “how pretty you are” and how lucky he is to have you. sharp yet maintained nails combing your scalp as he ran his fingers through your hair, the sensation sending pulses down to your toes.
choi yeonjun would fall asleep in a class, only to be woken up by a smack on his wrist and the threat of "DETENTION!". he'd have his fun with the gawking looks of everyone as he'd walk by, a pink mist of flowery drowsiness settling through the halls, making everyone's stomachs feeling like they'd just digested thorns.
but with you, oh, he was on his knees. puffy red lips and eyes bright n’ shiny when you'd kiss him, his lips leaving different shades of roses on your skin, like he was a rose himself— the color of his petals bleeding into the cracks of your skin. he'd find himself hiding between the alleyways behind the son of cinderella's shoe shop, your fingers tracing the wrinkles his smile would make near his eyes as he gazed at you like you were a happily ever after he was promised.
and he knew that even if his destiny didn't allow it, he'd prick his finger a thousand times only to be awoken by the drowning feeling of your lips on his own.
Tumblr media
SOOBIN, SON OF SNOW WHITE
when choi soobin's mirror answered your name instead of his after he questioned, “who's the fairest of them all?” things got a bit messy. who even were you, making your way to ruin his happily ever after? rolling his eyes and shutting his locker, he'd come face to face with you, wearing a charming, a prince charming, smile and tilting your head at him. now, children of the prince (or now, king) charming weren't exactly his type, but god, who on earth gave you the right to charm him with that pearly, enchantingly cursed smile? even if you technically belonged in his destiny, you weren't supposed to rob off his title of being the fairest of them all, anyway.
but as he stared from across the classroom, he started to understand why tones of red and blue were such an eye-catching match. from the way you'd glow in the silvery moonlight with your blue, he'd watch from his window, gold in his candlelight, as you'd practice lifting the weight of a sword passed through generations of your family. he'd mumble to his pet animals, telling them how embarrassing it was for a son of snow white to fall for the princess charming before he could even choke on that fucking apple, before his roommate would tell him to shut up!
and when he finally buried his ego into the glass coffin he was destined to lie in, poisoned and cursed for eternity, he faced you—heart throbbing in his chest and silky black hair flowing in the wind as he took your hands. it was unsettling, how he went against his destiny at that moment just to find you and give you an untraditionally abrupt kiss on the lips, even if no one was poisoned.
but, his true love's kiss promised, it sure woke him from a slumber he didn't know he was already in, reality seeping into his eyes like a curse finally being lifted. and his chest heaved, breathless, staring at you like you were the apple of his eye—the true fairest of them all.
Tumblr media
BEOMGYU, SON OF THE BEAUTY & THE BEAST
choi beomgyu was like streaks of gold sunlight peering onto a flowing river. with his sharp teeth and hair destined to flow perfectly in the wind, he would sprinkle his charm into any situation to win whatever he wanted. being the son of the beauty and the beast, he got the best of both worlds, athletically charming and annoyingly witty. and if you do say for yourself, unfairly attractive.
it was not irregular for choi beomgyu to intrude wherever and whenever he wanted to—a charming wink to a group of girls and they'd be squealing over him, or guys lifting him into the air when he'd score the winning goal for the bookball game, he had it all. and beomgyu wasn't really much to you, either.
except, when he'd sit with you in the enchanted forest, book in hand and pencil between his teeth, confused glances and nervous smiles as you tried to teach him the course for home evilnomics to impress a crush he had on a rebel. choi beomgyu didn't faze you— his smile cast no spell upon your senses; his beauty was meant to just be savoured by the eyes. his voice like honey didn't sooth your soul like it did to everyone else, and beomgyu was starting to realize that the more time he spent with you, the more he was drawn closer to you.
the genuinity in your smile set his cheeks rosy pink, the way your fingers would graze over his ever so slightly to show him how to cast a spell, the way you bit your lips and stared at him sheepishly when you didn't know the answer to a question he asked— you were finding ways to make him experience aspects of romance he's never witnessed first hand. and he'd find himself looking for you on the bleachers after scoring the winning goal for yet another bookball game. and he wouldn't shoot a wink to a group of girls who'd coo his name until he'd see you nearby. and he'd startle you from behind when you'd look for books in your locker, leaning nearby to shut the space between you two and watch your focussed eyes, a rosy tint in his line of vision.
you had the school's pride and joy wrapped around your finger, following you around like he were underneath a trance, head on your shoulder or arm around you as you roamed around town together. and you knew the rhythm of his heartbeat would change when you'd get especially close to him, finger on his chin as you'd smirk up at him. and you'd see the way his eyes would dart around your face, his light brown locks cast in front his eyes, glittering gold as his fingers would sneak up your blouse to feel the skin on your waist grow warmer at his touch.

❃EXO as roommates❃
a/n: I know most people are here for the svt posts but it’s been a while since I have done an exo one. I literally just pre-ordered D.O.’s albums; I am already delusional as is without getting new do kyungsoo content :’)
Anyway, bc of having lived in a studio apartment complex, I well aware that nothing breaks or makes living in student housing more than roommates. CURSE YOU BONGO DUDE I AM STILL NOT OVER YOU WAKING ME UP AT MIDNIGHT WITH YOUR LACK OF RHYTHM.
Tumblr media
Xiumin/Minseok: 7/10
✾ He would nag the entire time that the house is not clean enough and that you left your shit lying around. Whoever said that student housing tends to be messy has not met Xiumin.
✾ He has been cleaning ever since he moved in and will not stop until he has moved out. Xiumin will scold you when you try to help him out as you are ‘not cleaning right’, whatever that means. Fortunately, that means he will rarely ask you to help him with the chores so you still get to enjoy a clean house without having to put the effort in.
✾ Honestly, his healthy lifestyle choices kind of motivate you to do better. He will definitely take you with him to the gym when you let it drop that you might be interested in getting in shape. Free gym coach, basically.
✾ He organizes roommate days weekly where the two of you spend planned time together because he believes that roommates should become/be friends.
Tumblr media
Suho/Junmyeon: 9/10
✾ He will adopt you as one of his children. The moment you step foot in your shared housing, he has accepted that he has yet another child to take care of and no, you can’t convince him otherwise.
✾ He takes care of you and makes you feel right at home; he is the definition of the mom friend. Are you having trouble making new friends? He will introduce you to his. Have you been too busy studying and forgotten to eat? He will drop by the grocery store.
✾ The only downside to roommate Suho is that he can be overbearing and slightly judgy. You will hear “I am not mad, just disappointed” a lot when you, for instance, decide to go to out with your friends during finals. Apparently, that is irresponsible.
✾ Did you really move out of your parent’s home, or did you just replace your parents with Suho?
Tumblr media
Baekhyun: -10000/10
✾ He drives you absolutely insane and makes you regret moving in with him. Nobody is safe from his teasing and antics and you are stuck with it until the lease is up.
✾ He convinces you to divide the chores through games that he somehow always ends up winning. He has not done any chores since he moved in and he somehow keeps convincing you that this is the fairest way to determine who has to do the dishes.
✾ Boundaries, what boundaries? Locked doors will not keep him out. He will definitely throw himself on your bed telling you all about the drama of people you do not know when you are trying to study for an important test in the quiet solitude of your room. If you’re home, he will not leave you alone.
✾ Always spontaneously invites people over and forgets to text you about it. At this point, all his friends have seen you in your comfy but definitely not fashionable clothes.
Tumblr media
Chen/Jongdae: -1000000000000/10
✾ He. Is. So. Loud.
✾ The walls are way too thin to live with him. You can always hear him before you even see him. The type to wake you up in the middle of the night or early in the morning because he has no awareness of how loud he truly is.
✾ It wouldn’t even be such a problem, but bro never shuts up either. If he is not talking, he is constantly singing or humming. Chen truly doesn't have an off button.
✾ Add to the loudness problem that Chen is a morning person. He is so chirpy in the morning, singing a song on top of his lungs whilst he eats his breakfast. I wouldn’t even be surprised if he is the type to try and have full on conversations with you minutes after you’ve woken up, getting offended when your replies are curt.
✾ You had to ban game nights because he gets too competitive, whining so incredibly loudly every time he loses. One time the neighbours filed a noise complaint and he still maintains he wasn’t that loud.
Tumblr media
Chanyeol: 8/10
✾ A really fun person to live with if you like a very present roommate. He will constantly ask you to hang out and play games or watch movies because he can’t be alone for five minutes. However, compared to Baekyhun, his energy is a lot more chill.
✾ He will spend a lot of money on random geeky stuff, filling up the entire shared apartment with figurines, posters and that one Halloween costume that definitely was way too expensive. I can see him being the type to have a hallway full of boxes of stuff he ordered online. He has no idea of what actually is in them because he ordered it impulsively so long ago.
✾ Despite you living in student housing, he will make sure the interior looks stunning. He cares way too much about everything matching and will not allow you to place anything in the house without discussing it with him first. You can’t really be mad at it because your place looks like an Ikea showroom.
✾ Docking points because he will be either playing music or games at night. Trust me, nothing is worse than having someone practice their instrument when you are trying to sleep (Curse you bongo dude). All you can hear is him practising the same guitar riffs over and over again.
Tumblr media
D.O./Kyungsoo: 6.5/10
✾ Listen, his cooking is amazing, it would make being his roommate worthwhile. He will always make enough food for the both of you, and if you do not dine together, he will leave his leftovers for you in the fridge to try. He genuinely enjoys cooking for others and is happy to try out new recipes on you.
✾ That being said, living with him is more like calmly co-existing in the same space. He will only talk to you when absolutely necessary and it takes him a long while to really open up to you (if he does at all).
✾ He respects your personal space and wants you to respect his, meaning he won’t go out of his way to spend time together. Being roommates does not automatically mean that you have to be/are friends in his book. If you click, that’s neat, but don’t expect him to invite you over for game nights for the first few months.
✾ He is definitely the passive-aggressive roommate that sends you a text over the smallest of things. Why confront you face-to-face when can send you a 2 AM text telling you to pick up that one sock that fell out of your laundry basket?
Tumblr media
Kai/Jongin: 6/10
✾ He is an absolute sweetie, do not get me wrong. With his friendly and bubbly personality, he will try his hardest to become friends with his roommates. He will take every initiative to organize roommate events such as game nights, clubbing, etc.
✾ That being said, do not leave him alone in the kitchen, he will definitely accidentally set it on fire and you will be the one that has to clean up because do we really trust him after that? We have all seen his attempts at cooking, it never fails to be a disaster, so guess who is in charge of cooking from then on.
✾ Who needs matching cups and plates? Not you because he has shattered at least one of each set. Do not get too attached to your worldly possessions because Kai will knock them over or drop them on accident.
✾ He genuinely wants to help out with chores but he is so clumsy you still end up doing most of them. You can’t even be mad at him because, well, it is Kai.
Tumblr media
Sehun: 2/10
✾ Is he even your roommate? You have no idea, he rarely helps out with anything. He has been so spoiled that he refuses to lift a finger and at this point, you feel brainwashed because he is getting away with it.
✾ If you are younger than him, he will be paying for everything you guys need, so that is a win. If not, be prepared for your bank account to take a massive hit because “the oldest should pay.”
✾ You guys get a lot of free stuff as Sehun knows to subtly let it drop to his friends, mostly Suho, that you guys direly need something. All of his friends basically function as sugar daddies, and neither of you is complaining about the free toilet paper.
✾ The type of roommate that judges your outfits and comments “Are you really going to wear that?” and leaves you on read when you text him about rent. He can be nice but tends to choose violence every time he wakes up. I hope that you’ve got thick skin.
✾ Despite his snarky comments, you know that he genuinely appreciates and cares for you based on how clingy he is. Good luck going clubbing without him. Your phone will keep buzzing with texts asking you when you will be home because he is too scared to sleep without another person present in the house.

Potion Accidents: Yuu get´s turned into a Child-Rook
´´ is for thoughts, it´s 693 words and sorry if Rook is ooc I straight up have no idea how to properly write for him
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ah Children what a beautiful view to see the young frolicking around enjoying life an-
“get back here ya damn Monster!” Rook´s train of thought was interrupted by Epel running after a dirty Child Yuu, it seems like he found an opponent for the title of the most troublesome Pomefiore member even though Yuu is only temporarily in their care thanks to Epel being rather competitive in his Potiology class which caused this unfortunate accident
“do ya even know what´ll happen to me if Vil finds out about this!?” Rook almost feels bad for Epel but the view of such a small creature tricking him is far to amusing for him to pass up to watch the chaos unfold
“Rook! can´t ya help me! this menace is far to quick even catching Grim would be easier…” it seems like his time for observation is over “monsieur Crabapple I didn´t think our dear little Trickster would give you so much trouble, but they are surprisingly fast if only this is how they acted when they are older, they would make such wonderful pray…” Rook sighed but could practically feel Epel staring at him, no doubt annoyed at his eccentrics “but I suppose playing a little game of tag with our tiny Trickster would be beneficial for both of us”
as fun as it was watching Epel struggling with the Child again Yuu, chasing after them doesn´t sound interesting to Rook, after all children aren´t nearly as interesting as the people he usually hunts but it will save them from a lot of trouble from their Fair Queen
“little Trickster I hope you are ready because because I will not go easy on you just because you are a Child”
but even though Rook promised to not go easy on them, it turns out that Yuu is more troublesome than he anticipated not only did they manage to jump onto the Chandelier to run away from him but they also managed to hide into a group of students (even throwing some his way, which for a Child is incredibly impressive) or they even managed to blend into their enviroment to sneak away from him, he´s incredibly impressed and is even starting to doubt if Yuu truly didn´t keep their former intelligence but he does know one weakness Yuu and pretty much all Children have
“Little Trickster I have something for you for winning our little game” he can´t see them but knows he got their interest “I found your favorite treat when I visited Sam´s shop earlier, but considering you aren´t here I suppose I will have to eat it myself” he waited for a few minutes but to his surprise the small Human didn´t appear, time for his last ditch effort which he hoped he didn´t have to use
Rook sighed “okay Little Trickster it seems you truly did win, we won´t force you to take a bath and will accept our punishment from our dear Fairest Queen with dignity” he could see Yuu peak out from under a small table covered with a table cloth that reaches the ground, a perfect hiding spot for them, but now he has to be really careful to make them feel truly guilty otherwise they will actually be in deep trouble
he did his best to force out a few fake tears “the Horrors I can just imagine our dear Queen will do… oh the Horrors he could inflict on us!”he tried to keep watch on Yuu in the corner of his eye and the moment they tried to slowly sneak towards him he decided to strike
“oh Dear Little Trickster you where a most wonderful opponent, but we truly need to have you cleaned up I can assure you you won´t want our Queen to hear abo-” but just like someone summoned him Vil decided to appear behind him “do tell me Rook what am I not supposed to know about? It wouldn´t have anything to do with Pomefiore being covered in mud and thrown into chaos would it?” Rook truly is in trouble now, it seems like Yuu truly did get the last laugh now...

Something interesting about the children of Finwe's names is that their father-names all show what Finwe wants them to be, while their mother-names are all what they turn out to be. To some extent this is because the ataresse (father-name) is given at birth and the amilesse (mother-name) usually after some time - with some exceptions, e.g. Feanaro - but there's more to it as well.
Firstly, the children of Indis. His ataresse Ñolofinwë means wise-Finwe, the prefix meaning "wisdom" attached to his father's name. His amilesse Aracáno means Noble/High Chieftain, the name given to him after a few years. His father wanted him to be noble, a possible successor, leaving him in charge while he accompanied Feanor in exile. While he certainly had some wisdom, his notable decisions are all based on loyalty and emotion - and although impressive and bold, you'd be hard-pressed to call his challenge against Morgoth wise. He's described as "the strongest, the most steadfast, and the most valiant" in the Silmarillion.
Almost as a direct opposite, there's Arafinwë Ingoldo. The ara- prefix means "noble," like in Aracáno, so "noble-Finwe." Ingoldo is a bit more difficult - here it means "the Noldo," as in a very notable member of the Noldor. You could also consider this to mean "the wise one," since the Noldor are named for being (supposedly) knowledgable and wise, and he is described as "the fairest, and the most wise of heart." Noble is an accurate, but vague, description. Again his amilesse is a more true reflection of who he is. As the King of the Noldor - at least, those who remain in Aman - he indeed becomes an eminent Noldo, and his wisdom is shown in his decision to turn back.
Curufinwë is a good name, but it was only given to Feanor after some time. At birth his ataresse was just Finwion ("son of Finwe"), possibly the least creative name that could be given. Uncustomarily, the prefix curu- (skilled) is only added after he shows his skill. His amilesse was one of those rare ones given at birth and is, famously, Fëanáro - Spirit of Fire. Fitting for a man who consumed his mother's life-energy being born, spent his life making creations out of life, burnt ships in the first Kinslaying, and finally died with such force that his spirit burnt his body to ashes.
We don't know much about Findis and Lalwen. It's unclear whether Findis is her father-name or mother-name (I'm inclined towards the former, given that Finwe doesn't seem to be particularly creative with his naming). Írimë is Lalwen's ataresse, probably based on the word meaning "lovely," and her mother-name Lalwendë is shortened to Lalwen, meaning "laughing-maiden."
Feanor insists on passing down the -finwe ending to his sons, but all of them are known by their mother-names. He treasures being Finwe's son, and wants to lay claim to that descent. Maedhros' name in particular is notable, Nelyafinwë, because it essentially cuts out Finarfin as a son of Finwe (or maybe it's evidence that Maedhros was born before Arafinwe, as Maedhros' birthdate isn't clear?)
Meanwhile, Fingolfin and Finarfin don't give the finwe component to their children, but do pass down their amilesses to their sons -Aracáno to Fingolfin's youngest (Sindarinized to Argon), and Ingoldo to Finrod, Finarfin's oldest. However, for Fingolfin's youngest son Aracáno is his father-name (as far as I can tell), but for Finrod his mother-name is Ingoldo. This might indicate that Fingolfin treasured his amilesse more than Finarfin did, or that Earwen saw some kind of accuracy or benefit to giving Finrod the same amilesse as his father - in character, or in fate.
The naming and etymology of characters is always interesting...

Part 2
The queen walked around the ballroom, supervising the decorating and the arrangements when Steve started to descend one of the stairs.
"Mother!", he called out.
She jumped only slightly but met him with a warm smile.
"Mother, you have to call this ball off immediately", Steve said.
"Oh impossible. You can't stop these things once you get the ball rolling!"
She laughed at her own joke and slapped at her son's chest, while Steve did his valiant best not to laugh along with her. One thing they shared was their love of wordplay. But he wasn't going to get distracted.
"I told you, I don't want any part of this."
"Son, you know it's difficult to convince your mother of anything", his father came over to her side. He saw the offense on her face and quickly defended. "But in this matter, I think you should understand her-our side of things."
Jonathan, who had been hanging a floral wreath came down from the ladder. "I probably shouldn't say anything...."
"Probably", Steve and Genevieve said in unison. Jonathan had a habit of being the voice of reason. Which meant you could never tell whose side he was on until he spoke.
"Let's say the prince does attend the ball-"
Steve's chin jut out and he rolled his eyes anytime he didn't get his way. "You traitorous-"
"Let's say he goes. He dances. But if he happens to not connect with anyone...." He gave Steve a look, which his prince and friend understood.
"Jon, you're a genius", Steve said before turning to his mother. "I'll go. But if I don't fall in love, you'll let me find someone on my own. No matter how long it takes."
Genevieve's eyes were wide at the prospect and as always she looked to her husband for back up, but in this moment, Hensley was on his son's side.
"That seems to be the fairest option. You get your chance, and if it doesn't happen, then Steve gets his."
"I love you both!" Steve exclaimed and hugged them both before any other disagreements or concessions could be made. Once he was gone, the queen made a pouty face very similar to the one her son had made. Which she turned to Jonathan.
"If he doesn't meet someone tonight-"
"He will", Jonathan said quickly. "You know him. He's a hopeless romantic. Put him in the right atmosphere and he'll fall. I guarantee it."
----------------------------
The night of the ball was here and Eddie was brushing Jason's hair as he sat in a chair while Tommy was being buttoned up by Murray.
"Our family has always been known for its interesting men. I see no reason why the prince shouldn't fall for one of your charms."
Yeah right, Eddie thought to himself. They were about as interesting as a ball of lint.
"Now let's rehearse. You can't leave these things up to chance. How will you greet the prince, Jason?"
"I'll start by telling him how handsome he is and compliment his work out regimen", Jason grinned.
"You've never seen him", Tommy snarked. "How can you know if he works out?"
Jason shrugged. "Guys like hearing that even if they don't."
"A little white lie for an ego boost never hurt anyone", Murray said. "Thomas, what will you be doing?"
"People like being told when they're funny. So I'm gonna laugh at everything he says, even if it isn't." To illustrate his point, Tommy let out a bout of raucous and obnoxious laughter. To Eddie's ears, it sounded both annoying and joyless.
Murray didn't look pleased, but also not disappointed. "Well whatever you do, don't let any spittle fly from your mouth. And Jason you keep your know-it-all busybody habits to yourself. Royals don't like feeling like they're being manipulated. They prefer having control."
Suddenly feeling anxious about tonight, Tommy scratched at his ear, which Murray slapped away.
"Above all else, remember children what I've always taught you."
Jason and Tommy spoke in unison, "We hide our flaws until after the wedding."
"Okay, are you guys really going to do all that shit?", Eddie finally broke his silence.
Murray turned to face him and slowly stepped towards him. "And tell me...my dear....stepson. What would you say to entice His Highness?"
Eddie shrugged. Who knew what kind of person the prince was in reality?
Murray scoffed at his lack of response which prompted Eddie to open his mouth and say something.
"I don't know what I'd say. But whatever it was, he'd know I was meant for him and him for me." He put the brush down and got a starry look as he practically floated around the room, caught in a fantasy now. "We'd laugh at the same things. Real things. And when he kisses my hand he'll never want to let go. That's love. True love."
Even his stepbrothers were caught in his words, swooning a little Murray broke the spell.
"This ball isn't to find love, it's to find a husband! A meal ticket! You fall in love with love and you'll be falling flat on your ass." With a huff he rushed his two sons to continue getting ready, Eddie being forced to help with the preparations.
All the while Murray regaled them with a very vague tale of him falling in love and losing because of it. Eddie was so sure it was an extremely sad story but it was hard to feel sorry for a guy who took his heartbreak out on other people.
Once they were ready, the went out to the carriage, somehow making noise the whole way. It only got quiet as they drove away and then Eddie was alone.
He wouldn't admit he was lonely. No, fuck that. He was better off alone. Not in a 'true love doesn't exist' way. But in a 'it's better to be alone and only disappointed in yourself' way. Eddie went back inside and closed the door behind him.
Well, better get on with the rest of his night.
Part 4 coming soon

Chapter 1: Brief
Survivors. All those remaining, by chance, survived. Political outrage, civilian forfeit and the dark three years since the rumbling stole a lot for the twenty percent of the population who lived to see another day. The ship was landing, the queen would guide her cohorts and a new chapter would begin.
 —
Well within the walls did the wheels bring them to, and by nightfall there was a celebration to mark the anniversary of all branches of the military unifying under the land of Paradis.
A lone soldier, a warrior, a person once cast aside and laid with the burden that only he thought he could atone for. Sins were the tragedies he still couldn’t courage forgiveness; but it got easier. He had backup, he had been given another chance and now found himself strolling about the very place he once betrayed. The very place he felt that accepted him for who he was.
The land he prayed to return to, the land he wished for. The place he sought in his dreams when he would then awake in a dull bedroom in the midst of another war front for Marley. A once Vice Chief Braun was a Warrior, but at heart he was always a soldier. He had returned back to his own Fennario.
His heart lunged from his chest as he marched down the cobblestone road, aiming for something particular only to him when a boom burst through the air and exploded, but there was no fire. There were shouts, awe circumvented through the crowds that were placed by some kiosks along the streets.
The soldier’s leg gave in, his hand raising over to grab the vest buttoned over his chest as a rumble vibrated throughout the stoned walkway. Another, and his eyes shot up to see fire crackling in the air, falling, but not landing near him. His knee snapped in another direction opposing how he intended to send his boot down in, and another thunder of fire clapped and sparked above him. His hands flew over his head to block the flames from landing onto him, his breath hitching and forcing him to hold back from any release. His lungs started to burn, and he felt his cheeks flush red as he started to hurry toward his destination. Another crash of light and the screams of awe pierced him. Reflections along the buildings cast lights around crates and other abandoned festivities that had happened earlier in the day.
A celebration to fit for the anniversary. He felt his body inevitably lunge forward, and without thought his arms were hovering over the back of his neck at another crash. He couldn’t save himself this time- he couldn’t save anybody else. Mortality was an exceptionally odd thing to accept after these few years.
Did anyone tell him that there would be fireworks tonight?
There must’ve been a mistake when a hand so politely pressed against the knelt soldier’s body. There was no rush to hide from the line of fire, no trance of panic. To think, the only people running nearby were the pitter-patter of children’s shoes as sparks twinkled from sticks that were held in their hands.
No. He was stuck in the battlefront huddled in his mind. A gentle tug, and the man looked up to see a concerned brunette looking down at him. She had obviously taken notice of the blonde’s strange behavior and taken initiative.
No words, just a concerned look. She pulled her hand from his shoulder and instead, flipped her palm upward to the sky and held it pointedly in front of him. Another crackle, and he shuffled uncomfortably, his eyes shutting as he lurched his hand into hers. With another tug from her, he pulled himself up to his feet.
As we marched down to Fennario As we marched down to Fennario What will your mother think when she hears the guineas clink The soldiers all marchin' before you-o? Sweet William is dead and he died for a maid The fairest maid in the are-o If ever I return, all your cities I will burn Destroying all the ladies in the are-o Fennario. Fennario.
She spoke and told him to focus. His legs dragged behind her despite her stride being much shorter than his. His stomach churned, his temples throbbing in pain by how tightly he had shut his eyes through the works of fire in the sky.
He returned to the land that broke his heart. Returned. Except the flames that emptied within the nation in fury had turned into comical opposition. The flames flew into the stars beyond now, but then, they crashed and smoked the grounds he stepped on. He continued to lag behind in memories, but now at least there seemed to be a hand that would drag him out of the war zone.
A door shut, and before he could realize, he was sitting with a cup of tea cradled in his hands.
“I’m Janette.”

Simbolism from the disney's movie:
Snowhite. bonus part.
Lesgooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Tumblr media
A billion esoteric symbols. It's embarrassing how much detail this woman's throne has.
Tumblr media
First, the peacock feather's represents two things: the thousand eyes (keeping eyes on the kingdom)and the PEACOCK, preening, because she consideres herself beautiful.
Tumblr media
Second, behind her there is a heraldic symbol, namely the royal family. It is not very clear what the two circles represents, but the other one is the very famous snake,an it represents represent: The serpent of Eden. I would like to remind you that this is the woman who will later give a cursed apple to Snow White, and will tempt her with the apple that will actually harm her. The connection between Snow White and Adam and Eve is very strong, the Grim brothers didn't write apple by random.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
but i want you to think about this:
the relationship between Grimhilde and Snow White.
they are princess and queen, not mother and daughter.
If I tell you that they are mother and daughter, you don't think about it. if I tell you that she is queen, that is, that she is in power, and princess, that she will be in power in the queen's place. We have queen Grimhilde who is realizing that Snow White will take her place because she is growing up and more beautiful than her. At the beginning, if Disney wanted to represent a bad relative he would made it a step-parent, because he didn't want the children to doubt about their parents' protection and care. This is also why they are not mother and daughter.
Tumblr media
The evil queen calls for the hunter, she wants what? Kill snow white. But how?As proof of the killing of Snow White, the queen wants her heart. The box is the color of the heart and it has one pierced with a knife, try guessing what she is asking for since the hunter has a knife on his hand.
but why the heart? Because that's the purest part of Snow White. Someone made a theory about the queen asking for her heart because she would eat it,hoping to become the fairest of them all.

I won't try to annoy you anymore (no promises lmao) but thoughts on a royalty au where Kai is a king?
I TOTALLY MADE NOTES ON THIS AND FORGOT TO ANSWER I'M SO SORRY GJFSNFKSL Okay, but I promise, you don't annoy me AT ALL, I'm just slow! Especially on workdays; I get nothing done on those days. But yes, Kai is a king, I have some notes.
ookay, kai as a king would be a cocky lil bastard.
his ego would be way up, and he probably wouldn't be the fairest.
for a long time, he was the prince, and waited (rather impatiently) for his dad to die so he could take over.
parents were really serious about how their kingdom was ruled & they wanted to keep things that way. both were cold & emotionally distant, and his father was even more so after his mother's demise.
when kai becomes king, he doesn't change much at first, but makes a few changes just to piss the man off. over time though, especially after his dad's death, he changes things more to fit his liking.
kai would definitely have a servant, & would probably be pretty cruel to them at first, but with time, learns to enjoy their help & company.
maybe it's a mutual thing, where the servant kinda hates him, too.
but with so much time spent alone with him, he starts to see a more human side (kai starts to reveal a more human side) and they become frenemies / friends (like a merthur [merlin bbc] situation kinda, but with more hate at first).
since kai's childhood was filled with so much coldness and not much warmth, he doesn't really understand how to treat people well. on top of that, monarchies and leaderships, historically, prove that people with too much power tend to abuse that power.
it takes him a long time to learn to treat his servant as a person, not as a thing or a tool. however, when they do finally get on good terms, and even become friends, he allows the servant to better him in many ways, like in his treatment of others.
around the castle, he'd be a huge flirt.
he was a huge flirt as the prince, but it only worsens when he becomes king. the same girls he'd tease as prince, he'd tease as king, but now with even more of an attitude.
he also flirts with new girls around the castle.
others (elders, dad's servants / friends, etc.) & elder women / women he's not flirting with constantly tell him to grow up, but he has plenty of back talk prepared for every person who tells him such.
girls, however, are one big subject his servant makes a point to address. where the elders fail, he thrives, being the only person kai actually listens to. over time, he comes to objectify them less and put more focus into acquainting himself with them.
partly to find a wife, as he's supposed to do.
definitely has a temper
tends to start wars over menial things, but will hesitate going to battle over something big.
priorities aren't exactly in place.
things that are important to him aren't always the greater battle, and he has a hard time realizing what battles are expected of him to fight.
doesn't like to be told what to do. doesn't like advice, and especially doesn't like guidance from people that remind him of his father / worked alongside his father.
will more likely take the opinion of his Favorite Girl into consideration faster than he will of any of the men.
ends up marrying said Favorite Girl in a couple years & she falls pregnant rather quickly.
uncertain about children, but knows he needs an heir and his wife is really excited, so he starts to feed off that.
when the baby is born, he's suddenly, extremely protective of it.
it's a boy, like he's supposed to produce as his first heir.
elders then tell him he doesn't need any more kids because he produced an heir. (they're worried about his initial disdain for kids, plus they preferred his father's leadership much more over kai's, and don't believe the kingdom / castle needs any more mini-kais).
but he and his wife go on to have four more, all girls. neither planned for a big family, but he can't stay off her 🫣 and she loves having kids.
these are all my notes on this for now! at first i wasn't sure i'd have a lot, but the more i wrote, the more i came to love the idea. definitely need to add king AUs to my prompts list!
also, i switched back and forth between past and present tense while making my notes. (i have no idea why, or how.) but i hope i caught them all, if not, i'm sorry!

(Egyptian Jewish Folktale)
Once there were a king and a queen. One day, the queen said:
“We have been married for along time and still have no children.”
She sat and cried, since she was afraid that the king would take another woman to be his wife, one who would give him an heir. Then, an old woman suddenly appeared and asked the queen:
“Why are you crying?”
After the queen explained, the old woman said:
“Donʼt cry. I will give you a pomegranate. Eat one half, and give the other half to the king. If you have a daughter, call her Romana.”
And so it was. After nine months, the queen gave birth to a beautiful daughter whose beauty illuminated all who beheld her. The queen called her Romana. Several years passed and the queen died. The king remarried. His new wife had a friend who was a magician, and she bore the king a daughter who was not as beautiful as Romana. The stepmother was jealous of Romana, and asked the magician over and over again:
“Who is the fairest of all?"
The magicianʼs reply was always the same:
“You are beautiful, and I am even more beautiful, but Romana is a thousand times more beautiful!”
One day, the stepmother asked the magician:
“How can I get rid of Romana?”
The magician replied:
“Take some dirty cotton wool, call her to the cellar, and ask her to knit socks.”
The stepmother did as she was bid and Romana sat in the cellar and wept. Suddenly, the same old woman who had come to the aid of Romanaʼs real mother appeared:
“Why are you crying?", she asked.
Romana politely explained. The old woman said:
“Donʼt worry, listen to me: a red sea will soon cross your way – let it pass. A black seaw ill soon cross your way– let it pass. A white sea will soon cross your way – dip the cotton wool, as well as your face and hands, into the white sea.”
Romana did as she was told and became even more beautiful. The stepmother heard the tale and what did she do? She gave her real daughter some dirty cotton wool and called her down to the cellar. Once again, the old woman appeared and asked the girl why she was crying. The real daughter didnʼt answer politely, but rather shouted at the old woman. The old woman said:
“A red sea will cross your way,let it pass. A black sea will cross your way – dip the cotton wool, as well as your face and hands, into the black sea.”
This the real daughter did, becoming even uglier than before. Meanwhile, the king had left the country.
The stepmother was enraged. She asked her magician friend what to do and he replied:
“Send a letter to the king and tell him that his daughter is meeting with young men and coming home late.”
The king read the letter and sent his vizier home at once, ordering him to kill Romana and bring back her blood. The vizier seized Romana as commanded, but he then took pity on her. She understood that he was supposed to kill her and told him:
“If you really pity me, leave me here. Kill a dog in my place and tell the king it is my blood.”
The vizier agreed to all that Romana proposed.
The girl walked on alone until she saw a light from afar. When she reached it, she saw a den of thieves. She washed the vegetables which she found on the table and ate them. When the thieves arrived, she quickly hid herself. The thieves sensed a strange presence, but they could not discover what it was. The next day, after all the thieves had left, Romana ventured out of her hiding place.
But one thief had remained behind. He caught her and asked:
“What are you – a daughter or a woman?”
She answered:
“A daughter.”
“Alright then,” he said, “be our sister.”
So, Romana lived with the thieves, prepared their food, and each day a different thief brought her a present. One day, the queen asked the magician:
“Who is the fairest of all?”
To which he replied:
“You are beautiful, and I am even more beautiful, but Romana is a thousand times more beautiful!”
“But she is dead,” the queen raged.
“No,” said the magician,“she is with forty-one thieves. If you wish to get rid of her, disguise yourself as a jewelry peddler; make her wear this ring and she will die.”
The queen did exactly this and Romana died. When the thieves discovered what happened, they put Romana in a glass coffin and came to see her every day.
One day, a prince was out hunting in the woods. He killed a bird that fell near the glass coffin. When he run to retrieve the bird, he saw Romana and asked the thieves to bring him the coffin. He ordered the thieves to bury her, and while they were washing her body, they removed the ring and Romana came back to life. They quickly returned the ring to her finger and asked the prince what he was willing to give them if they could cure her, and he replied:
“Whatever you wish.”
They asked for a chicken, prepared chicken soup, and gave some to Romana. She awakened and agreed to marry the prince, but requested that the thieves be invited to the wedding, which lasted seven days and seven nights.
After a while, the queen asked the magician:
“Who is the fairest of all?”
He replied:
"You are beautiful, and I am even more beautiful, but Romana is a thousand times more beautiful!”
“It's impossible,” the queen raged, “she is dead!”
“No, she is not,” said the magician, “she married the prince. Take this hair clip and pin it in her hair. She will turn into a dove and fly away. After that, put your daughter in place of Romana and tell the prince she is his wife. Then tell him she is sick and that you are her mother who wishes to see her.”
The queen did all that the magician bid. When Romana flew out of the window, the ugly daughter sat in her place.
Every day, Romana, in the guise of a beautiful dove, flew to the gardener and reminded him not to forget to water the orange tree that grew in the garden, since she had been in the habit of throwing orange seeds into the garden, until an orange tree began to grow.
One day, the gardener fell asleep, forgot to water the trees, and the yall died. The prince asked the gardenerʼs wife what happened and she told him all about the dove. He waited until the dove returned, catched it with a net, brought it to the palace and took care of it, better than he cared for his “sick wife".
One day, the queen asked the magician:
“Who is the fairest of all?”
He replied:
“You are beautiful, and I am even more beautiful, but Romana is a thousand times more beautiful!”
“How can it be?!!!”
The queen raged, and the magician replied:
“She indeed turned into a dove, but the prince caught her and is taking care of her, better than he cares for your daughter. Go to the prince and tell him that you dreamed he had caught a white dove and that if he kills it and paints his sick wife with its blood, she will be cured.”
The queen did all that he bid. One day, when the prince was washing the dove, the hair clip pricked his finger.
Romana regained her human form and told him everything. He returned the hair clip to her head, and asked the queen to invite all of her friends to see him cure his sick wife. The stepmother was happy to do so, and invited the king and all of the ministers. The prince held the dove in his hands and stood before everyone, but instead of killing it, he removed the hair clip.
Romana quickly regained her human form once again, rushed to her father and told him all that had happened. The queen and the magician were asked if this were true and they had to admit that it was. The king and the prince took a piece of wood and said:
“All who love the King – bring oil!”
They made a big bonfire, burned the queen, the magician, and the ugly daughter.
Romana and her prince lived happily ever after

Are there any of the Silmarillion Ask Meme questions which you haven’t gotten yet? If so that one—or another random headcanon, please!
(Silmarillion ask game!)
Why not both? I was hoping to get 💀 at some point, so:
You have a "Get out of jail 'Doomed by the Narrative' free" card. Who do you give it to?
Not ONLY do I have a good answer for this, I would like to posit that mine is actually the Only Correct Answer and everyone should choose it. Fingon! As I claimed here Fingon is the literal embodiment of hope in the Silmarillion, and his death, in the terrible tragic turning point, marks the death of hope in the First Age. He is as doomed by the narrative (as opposed to being doomed by his own bad choices like the Fëanorians or even like Turgon and Thingol to some extent, or by an evil god like Túrin) as it’s possible to be. In fact I would like to further posit that you simply cannot call your canon-divergence fic a fix-it if it takes place after Fingon’s death, or if you kill him anyway.
(the fairest stars sidenote as always: when I ramble about not knowing whether tfs is a fix-it or not, what I actually mean is not knowing whether or not Fingon survives it.)
Anyway! Save Fingon and you keep the Noldor united, have their High King visible instead of tucked away in a hidden city somewhere. Save Fingon and Maedhros doesn’t allow the Second Kinslaying or orchestrate the Third. Save Fingon and maybe Gondolin doesn’t fall! Because Morgoth had a huge price on Fingon’s head and so might have focused more energies on him instead of on Turgon. He matters so much ok.
Tell us one of your favorite Silm headcanons. Can be one that's out in the wild or a personal one!
Idril was one of the last children born in Aman before the Darkening. As such she’d only been given her father-name Itarillë before the Flight of the Noldor, and Elenwë hadn’t given her a mother-name yet. Turgon brought it up to her, once, on the Ice, and Elenwë thought about it for a moment and then named Idril Helciel, ice-daughter – for the Ice, she claimed, was doing as much to raise Idril as her parents were. She was dead not long after.
Turgon did not like this mother-name much; it was a reminder of how deeply he had failed his little family. Sometimes he called his daughter Elenwiel instead, but Helciel became a rather commonly-used name among Fingolfin’s host: she was a talisman, this little golden-haired princess of theirs, who rode polar bears like they were horses and seemed to feel the cold so much less than they did. She was everyone’s daughter, the daughter of the Ice, proof that there was life and hope in this frozen wasteland yet.
She lost her foot to frostbite at some point and after that was never without five willing pairs of hands to carry her, if her father ever wearied of the duty (which he didn’t, she was all he had left); and when they reached Beleriand one of the first things they did was fashion her a wooden prosthetic foot, but that wasn’t very stable on the muddy ground. Which felt like a metaphor to Idril, now elf!fourteen-ish and beginning to feel the pressure of being a symbol of hope to thousands of people.
(How do you tell people you miss the Ice when they’re all so glad to be away from it? How do you confess that it felt like home sometimes when it killed your mother? How do you admit that you’re too warm, all the time, and when they try to pile furs over you while you’re sleeping as a sign of appreciation it only makes you feel like you’re suffocating?)
Itarillë was fine. Elenwiel hurt sometimes. Helciel was wrong, but also right, in complicated ways that she didn’t want to have to think about every time someone addressed her.
It was around this time – a couple of years after they’d arrived at Mithrim, once her uncle Fingon had pulled off his miraculous rescue and effected a reconciliation of the divided host – that she met her cousin Celebrimbor for the first time.
These lonely motherless children ok!! They were best friends on sight!!! You cannot overestimate how important they are to me! They were a symbol of healing and reunification! (Also funny because Turgon and Curufin were both disgusted about this. But Aredhel and Celegorm supported it.)
Anyway Celebrimbor has also been having this whole arc which we’ll get into if I ever write my post-Thangorodrim fic involving how Maedhros’ return has thrown the entire family into chaos – and Maedhros remembers the little boy he was and not the near-adult he is now which is upsetting to everyone involved – and Curufin being Curufin doesn’t want his son near Maedhros while Maedhros is still so unstable – and Tyelpë tries to make Maedhros a prosthetic hand but it doesn’t work out for Reasons – AND he takes everything he’s learned and eventually makes Idril a nice prosthetic foot out of mithril. And when the time comes for her to choose a Sindarin name, “Idril” is easy and obvious, but “Celebrindal” is meaningful too. It’s nice to feel like you match with someone.
Celebrimbor never calls her anything else.

second one! May I please have a sweet daydream with Bakugou and royalty au? Thank ily
Of course! Thanks for waiting patiently. ily2!!!
Tumblr media
Pairing: Bakugou Katsuki x F!Reader, hinted and one-sided Kirishima Eijirou x F!Reader
Summary: Even before you were a knight, you'd always been curious about the myth of the dragon and the princess. Finally having the time and money to explore the tower of legend, you learn that myth might have been misinterpreted over the ages.
/ Before you could get ready to pucker up, the blond that was the with the dragon spoke. “What’re you leaning towards him for? I’m the fuckin’ prince that you're looking for.”
You stared at him with disbelief. “Why would I kiss a prince?”
“Why the fuck would you conquer this tower then?”
You tried to come up with a socially acceptable and completely normal answer.
Warnings: Royalty!AU, Reader is an implied monsterfucker, misunderstandings, this was supposed to be a fluffy meet cute and somehow turned into a barely fluffed up meet cringe my bad lol
With a haze of red and sparkling black, Kirishima crawled through the window, changing into a form more suitable for the
With a haze of red and sparkling black, Kirishima crawled through the window, changing into a form more suitable for the high ceilings and narrow confines of the UA Tower. He landed on cobbled stone with a jingly thud, a heavy sack of some sort of treasure hooked at the waistband of his hip. He looked at his grumpy ward with a fire in his eyes.
“I think it’s time,” he exclaimed, using his wings to float over to where the prince of the tower sat. His knuckles were wrapped in thin gauze–a typical aftermath of his training.
“You always think that any time a knight or challenger appears, it’s time,” Bakugou retorted.
He dusted his pants before looking at the training mat with a frustrated hmph. Looking at the same fucking mat every day, waking up in the same room every fucking day, and speaking to one fucking person every day was enough to drive him insane. The prince had long since given up hope that someone would be strong enough to save him.
In the past, he’d yell and scream until his voice grew hoarse. The rules of this land were bullshit! Although he still lived a life of comfort through the tower’s magic, Bakugou’s helplessness frustrated him. It didn’t matter if he used his strength, wits, or looks. None of his skills or blessings were enough to give him his freedom.
Kirishima conjured up an opaline mirror before them, pulling up an image of a knight, gently closing the tower doors behind her.
It was a stupid move, you knew, but exhaustion told you it was a good idea to let the tip of your sword drag across the floor as you crossed the landing to what you hoped would be the final floor.
The UA Tower stood as a monolith at the edge of Musutafu, the ancient magic imbued within working hundreds of years before your birth. There was a myth that the elders passed down to their children. Monsters ravaged the land until a great dragon appeared, chasing them all away. Grateful for his protection, they offered up their fairest maiden–a princess that was unwed.
“They were said to have lived happily-ever-after,” they told you.
“And what happened after that?” You’d ask as a child. The elders would roll their eyes at your question, telling you that that was the end.
But your curiosity of what happened after ever-after didn’t end as a child.
When you were in university, you’d hear drunken bards sing of an ending that made your ears grow hot. Their salacious tales were repeated in the barracks at knight school, making you eager to be ordained.
As the years went on, your days as a knighthood had been blessed by wealth and fortune. Now that you amassed enough gold to take a vacation, you decided to finally indulge in one of your greatest interests.
The oak doors that you pushed past were heavy.
“Good gods, she’s an idiot,” Bakugou groaned.
It was through a series of luck and perfectly-timed clumsiness that you bumbled your way to the second to last floor. He couldn’t help but watch your every move with morbid fascination.
Kirishima elbowed the prince. “Hey, don’t talk about your future wife that way!”
Right. The knight would clear the last floor. You’d kiss the prince. Then you two would leave the tower to get married, then live happily-ever-after.
Bakugou always thought it was a stupid tradition, but now that he was closer to reaching his goal in life, his heart fluttered in anticipation.
Their attention returned to the mirror when all of the dust from the battle made you sneeze.
“Oh, c’mon, she’s cute.”
Some comment you made about the tower being bad for knights with allergies made Kirishima grin.
“Perhaps you shouldn’t talk about my future that way,” he sassed back.
Despite all the dirt and your dinged up armor, Bakugou couldn’t deny that there was something attractive about you. Maybe it was the way you cheered after defeating each floor’s challenge or how you cursed anytime an endless flight of stairs would appear.
Yes, you were cute, but he wouldn’t tell that damn greedy dragon that.
The final floor of the tower wasn’t what you were expecting. It looked like any ordinary bedroom from the outside world, though furnished more lavishly than most.
You expected to find beautiful dresses and jewelry scattered throughout the room and was disappointed when you found none in the closet or dressers. It was only men’s clothes that filled the room–perhaps the final floor was the dragon’s room instead of the princess’s.
“This must be a room of wits,” you grumbled as your tired body settled on the sofa. A stack of books on the table caught your eye, and you pulled the middle title.
On the cover was a great dragon standing guard outside of a tower. Perhaps there was a clue! You flipped to a random page before tossing it across the room.
It glowed as smoke filled the room and two figures appeared before you.
It was a dragon. The dragon!
An annoyed cough broke your attention.
“Well?” He asked impatiently as the smoke lingered. “Kiss me already so we can get out of here.”
You bolted right up at his command. The bards were right. The dragon truly did have a voracious appetite. You fumbled around one of the pouches at your waist. Where was your lipgloss? You weren’t expecting things to escalate so soon.
Before you could get ready to pucker up, the blond that was the with the dragon spoke.
It didn’t make sense to him. Weren’t you in love with him? That was why every other knight had attempted to rescue him from this shithole. And dammit, it took him a while but watching you go from floor to floor throughout the weeks made you grow on him. He wouldn’t call it love, but at the very least it was a crush. He wouldn’t mind marrying you.
Kirishima whispered to Bakugou, “That’s not what true love’s kiss means.” The dragon had lived for many years and was more experienced in worldly things compared to the prince.
“Are you sure?” The prince asked. “They didn’t write that in the books and–Well, shit. Can you at least fly away to give us some privacy? Or maybe just poof! And give her a dress so I can go under, if you’re too nosy to leave.”
This was the perfect moment to change the subject.
“Um, uh… What exactly is true love’s kiss?”
The two looked at each other.
“I s’pose your position doesn’t really matter but–”
“Well, you can lay down and so can I, or maybe I can be on my knees and–”
Heat crept up your neck and you realized what they meant.
“But you’re the dragon’s consort!” You blurted.
“The what?!”
A voice boomed from overhead. The tower itself, the prince explained.
“To be able to truly be free from this tower, the knight and prince must share true love’s kiss.” Kirishima crossed his arms and nodded knowingly. “Which means that the two must be in love.”
Bakugou saw the way you looked at his friend and sighed. His future wife was a dumbass. A wannabe dragonfucking dumbass. It’d take a lot of work to get you to fall in love with him.
He extended his hand towards you, jerking it forward as you stared at it.
“Look, we got off to a bad start. I’m the prince of this tower. Bakugou. No, wait. Katsuki.”
You shook it hesitantly. The sparks from his touch almost made you pull away at first, but his hand engulfed yours in a cozy shake. You gave him your name.
