As much as I would love to talk about the newer food souls—I know nothing about them. I stopped playing the game after Pizza, Cheese, and Cassata came out. So while I learn about them take some sweet thoughts;

Food Souls helping humans that they don’t get summoned by; I.e.;

Pastel de Nata helping a struggling bakery in turn for learning a bunch of recipes lost to time

Coffee never opened Satans and helps a young coffee shop owner make their dreams come true

Red Wine helping a human studying the supernatural with his weird vampire-ness in return of helping him handle it.

Steak meeting a young human that helps him with something very mundane—then realizes “oh shit this dumb human might die if I leave their side” and acting as some sort of body guard.

Brownie meeting someone that needs his help, and they make a deal. Brownie gets to be a butler, and the human gets a load off for the first time in forever.

I could go on and some of these are dumb and vague but hhh… like think about Chocolate helping a gardener that owns their own shop deal with emotions and trying to give their person of interest flowers??

I’ll learn about these newer Souls and maybe become attached to them at one point but for now I am stuck in the past wanting nothing but happiness for the ones I’m familiar with

Saw a really cool concept on this site of defect foodsouls being experimented on turned fallen angels. (@ButlerBrownie the holy god)

Not really sure how the world works, but it will be going off the idea that there are multiple of each foodsoul, or at the very least, there is a chance to summon a corrupted FS right off the kick. I don't think it's talked on canonically how food soul summoning and reviving works.

Either way, the MA is a beginner who is super aloof and ignorant. So she tried summoning for the first time and met Brownie! A defect Brownie, but MA doesn't know. Before long, MA was with the entire DD group.

However, as they are opening a restaurant and gaining more popularity, more people start staring weirdly. Rumors say that the food souls at MA's resturaunt are quite peculiar.

This eventually catches the ears of an illegal private scientist who searches for Food Souls to test on.

One day out battling for ingredients, MA and DD squad meet a super strong fallen angel that knocks everyone out. The only exception is Eclair, who was managing the restaurant as a waiter in MA's absence.

MA is badly hurt and also in battle grounds, so contract isn't helping much.

DDS find themselves individually in different rooms. All empty, white, and quiet. It looks a bit abandoned.

MA is in what is like a lobby of a lab. There, she meets the private scientist and a group of people working for so called scientist.

That's about all for not very spoiled summary. MA appearance wide is just the ingame pink girl avatar except the hair is gray.

The food souls will have slight changes for being defects, but minimally externally. Though I'm not sure if this is all just utter bull or can actually happen in universe.

Eclair is the only one that MA summoned successfully with no defects. But he'll still be part of this. Which is to say, if I ever develop this.

Literally this came out of wanting a bit of edginess and feels in FS fanfiction because most of it is fluff. Which is wonderful, but I'm more of an edge fueled person and there are very few fanarts of those.

And corrupted food souls is a very cool concept, and while this is defects, but pshhhh. Oh and this was inspired from @ButlerBrownie on Tumblr, who has posted a lot of high quality very very cool ff art and mini comic..

Ahh geez, I feel the shame from every fan that knows what's canon better than me. Please tell me if something is not in line with canon

Chococoffee: dabs love them the og bromance, they have such an entertaining dynamic between the dramatic Chocolate and the “only as dramatic as far as it’s good for business“ coffee, and tbh, the scene in Chocolate’s backstory where Coffee convinces him to Not Murder Selina’s former lover and think about what she would’ve wanted for him is where like I first realized: shit bro this aint just a pretty anime food game-

otherwise, Chocolate’s flair and dramatique hides an inner cynicism about the nature of love and flirtation, and how a lot of it is the desire to please others rather than true reciprocity; the pragmatic businessman Coffee might actually be refreshing to Chocolate because he cuts through the bs, he uses their flirty personas for the purposes of gaining pr, and makes no bones abt it !

Teamilk: i actually have an ask in my inbox rn abt teamilk and i would like to save it for later apologies!!

BB-52: man even tho i will admit that this ship really got Capital P Popular, this ship is really comforting to me because of how soft the two Pals are, and that whole narrative of rediscovering your own humanity after great trauma and pain with people who love and support you............... like especially just two young kids who are trying to make sense of this big scary world that wasn’t really ever made for them.....

Steakwine: another one of the V Popular ships but their dynamic of ppl who’ve known each other from the very beginning and who will know each other in a way others simply won’t ever is Just Irreplacable pensive emojix2 i don’t really have much else to say tbh because like,,,, i feel like there’s aleady so much content that expresses the complexities of this ship out there much better than i could ever hope to do here, so uh yeah!!

Napastel: for as much as nata can be irritated by napo, i really do enjoy the fact that they’re like... evenly matched with each other, they know exactly how to counteract the other and they’re so similar in a lot of ways- Napo likes to tease and poke fun, but if someone isn’t on his level or frequency he’s not one to try and educate them or try and bring them up he don’t got time for that shit!!!! in a similar vein, nata is very solitary and if he doesn’t care for something, he just goes Off. They don’t take each other’s shit, so when they do earn each other’s respect (and I mean this as Napo finally looking past nata’s baking skills and who he actually is), it’s like earned, two equals acknowledging each other as such, and even liking what they see in each other. For all of their grumbling and arguing they just have such a fun dynamic, and when shit hits the fan they got each others’ backs…..

handchins frankly this criticism extends more so to the fandom at large as opposed to simply a matter of shipping- I would like to see a more diverse of range of ships and ppl giving more love to some newer ships and more obscure characters, (examples: huangshanmaofeng x osmanthuscake, chrysanthemumwine x chongyangcake, minestrone x mashed potatoes, junmai x matsutake, surstromming x fish n chips I could go on man) Not trying to force anybody to do anything they want, I just like seeing some new charas get the lime light!! then again im saying this while never producing any content myself so who am I to talk!!!!!
