Just watch and learn." Pareho kayong natawa sa huli niyang pahayag. "Ay wait lang." Lumapit ka sa isang kabinet at bumungad dito ang telang kulay itim na may mga puting linya. Dali-dali mo itong kinuha at iniharap sa iyong kaibigan "Suotin mo to." "Apron?" Tumango ka bilang tugon. Inilusot mo sa kanyang ulo ang butas ng apron— pumunta ka sa likuran ni Jungwoo para matali ito nang maiigi. "Patingin nga." Muli kang pumunta sa harapan niya. "Ang cute mo." Ang mga salitang iyon ay nagpangiti kay Jungwoo. "Of course! I'm Jungwoo." Umirap ka nang pabiro at tinawanan niya lang ang iyong reaksyon.

Makalipas ang ilang minuto ay tapos na magluto ang matalik mong kaibigan. Sabay kayong umupo sa harap ng maliit mong mesa matapos maglagay ng plato at kutsara't tinidor sa hapag. Agad kang kumain dahil sa gutom na kanina pang pinapaalam ng iyong tiyan; inasar ka ni Jungwoo kanina dahil diyan.

Habang abala ka sa pagkain ay nakatitig lang si Jungwoo sa iyo. Isang matamis na ngiti ang nakapaskil sa kanyang mga labi. I really hate how hard it is to find a portrayal of my favorite ships that I can really enjoy. As much as I do love the cliche dumb tropes and couple memes that people use for fanart and fanfics it ends up kinda muddying the entire fandoms perception of a character. And I really do get it. I understand the fun self-indulging and I love consuming the works of people who love a character so much that it starts to sound like they’re just talking about one of their ocs. It’s is enjoyable and all, but I can’t enjoy when ships push a trope so hard that the characters involved aren’t even themselves- they’re just kinda empty shells that exist to fulfill the dumb trope.

I am drawn to certain ships for a reason. I loove categorizing the characters and relationships that I enjoy and using them to psychoanalyze myself like a weirdo. It’s funny to notice all the patterns in my interests. But the thing is, Idk where I’m going with any of this to be honest even if there are loads of similarities in the characters I’m drawn to, or the ships I tend to like, or the stories that are always on my mind, I enjoy the nuance of each one. I don’t know- it’s just kinda dumb to want to read fics for a specific ship and it’s an au where they’re childhood best friends because their parents were and I want to enjoy it but I can’t because my favorite thing about the ship is the fact that they have such a strong relationship because they CHOSE it- not just because they happened to know each other as kids. And there are days when I just read it because ‘ok shrug seems cute enough’ but it won’t be something that sticks in my head for months like fanworks that explore a character for who they are and not as a placeholder for something that people find romantic.

Been reading some Filo NeuviFuri modern AUs and Levi Jude de Neuvillette is his full name in my head from now on.

Also I'm loving this College SocMed AU sm. Neuv and Furi being a PolSci and Theater major respectively. Furina playing as Veronica Sawyer from Heathers and Neuvillette losing his shit in the audience while she performs Dead Girl Walking

You and Chan have been bestfriends ever since you were little and were classmates until he went to Korea to become a kpop star. You two kept in touch even after you went back to the Philippines for college and postgrad studies.

You noticed your phone buzzing nonstop.

You ended the call and hurriedly went down your dorm apartment.

“How are you here?” You surprised yourself with being able to speak while still in shock.

“I rode a plane?” Chan said a matter of factly which made you roll your eyes.

“Why are you here?” You asked again.

“I wanted to see you.” He shrugged like traveling hours from Korea to the Philippines unannounced with no known event of some sort was the most normal thing to do.

Yet still, you kept your composure and stilled your now tachycardic heart before raising a brow, feigning confidence.

“You saw me. Now where’s my pasalubong?”

“Huh?” Chan never looked more cute being confused.

“What, you said—“ you stopped yourself mid-sentence as realization hits, “oh did you mean?” You didn’t need to finish as you see him nod.

“Yeah.” His voice was barely a whisper before his laughter echoed in the quietness of the night.

“Oh.” You couldn’t help but laugh at your mistake as well.

You sensed Chan engulf you in a big hug, which you gladly reciprocated, but not before he leaves a teasing remark:

“And here I thought you’re the Filipino one.”
