The protagonist is named Kid in the credits. He is constantly surrounded by children who should not be in the situations that they have found themselves in. All of the children featured have been forced to grow up, and with the protag’s character name Kid, he has not moved on from the trauma of his childhood. This calls into question the lives of the children around him as his mother’s question, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” haunts the narrative, showing that for many children, you do not get to choose.

“It feels like we've grown up together. We've seen each other through some good times and some bad times, and that's a lovely process. I like the idea of working with someone who has seen me at my weakest and also with success.” — Joe Wright

I think it's the funniest fucking thing that they got comedy actor Ben Schwartz to voice Sonic, the original Tails voice actor Colleen O'Shaughnessy to voice Tails and then for Knuckles and Shadow they went "we know what you freaks want" and cast Idris Elba and Keanu Reeves respectively.

Jesse Plemons getting a role in Civil War because Kirsten Dunst suggested casting him after the original actor dropped out is a rare example of Hollywood nepotism gone occasionally right?
No, but most reviews I have read about this film say he is absolutely best thing in it.
