hiiii <3 question for ya: in ur opinion, if joseph's wife comes home safely, no car wreck, and has their daughter as expected, how do u see that affecting him + his sanity? does he probably still go batshit for some other reason in the future? or does he not derail into a complete nutjob? <3 ty!!!
I think it depends on whether or not the Voice has contacted him before, and that’s actually a bit unclear... According to The Book of Joseph and Far Cry: Rite of Passage #3, he’s been hearing It since he was a child, but according to Far Cry 5 and Inside Eden’s Gate, it seems he only heard It after he was separated from his brothers, possibly even for the first time the day his wife died and he believed he was being tested. The Book of Joseph also says It stopped talking to him before he started looking for Jacob and John, but along the Pilgrimage path in the game, we learn that he continued to hear It even after the creation of the Project and the anointment of his siblings as Heralds.
If he’s been hearing the Voice since childhood and It told him he had to save souls from the Collapse, I imagine he would still have created the Project and looked for his brothers at some point, so things wouldn’t have been much different in this regard. That said, if the Voice didn’t take his wife and didn’t tell him to sacrifice his daughter, maybe that means It’s less violent and doesn’t ask him to do awful things in this scenario. As a consequence, I think the cult could have been more peaceful as well. For example, I’ve always wondered if Jacob wanted people to sacrifice a loved one because of what happened to Joseph, so if it never happened, maybe that rule wouldn’t exist. And with his wife and daughter still with him, I think it’s possible that Joseph would never have created Faith Seed.
If the Voice only contacted him the day of the accident but there is no accident, then maybe he never hears it and just gets to live a normal life with his family! He would most likely look for his brothers, but they obviously wouldn’t become his Heralds. If there’s still a Voice somewhere, though, maybe someone else hears It, is tested, and is tasked with saving souls, but Joseph never becomes a cult leader. Then, if there’s still a Collapse coming, unless Joseph happens to meet that other prophet and decides to join their cult, I suppose he and his family would simply end up dying when the world falls into the flames...

My sweet bb Andra 💕 How are you doing love ? 💫
I have a juicy Request and I know you will make its justice 😩🤌🏻
So basically, we have Neteyam and Mate going out for a little time together at the lake, or pond whatever (deep enough 😏😳). Reader decides to draw Neteyam. So he poses for her and well she starts drawing and all. She is all concentrated looking at the paper for a moment and she feels something being thrown at her. She looks at him and well 🥴 We don't need any precisions here :3
Reader is all flustered and Neteyam is just smirking widely. Reader hasn't any time to react because we hear Jake's voice screaming Neteyam's name from afar. Oh ! Guess what ? Neteyam forgot. Yes. He forgot a training with his father (Pls let this poor guy rest a bit 🙂).
And Lo'ak (Otherwise it wouldn't be funny hehe)
Neteyam tries to grab his loincloth but reader is faster and throws it far into the bushes, with a smirk obv. So Neteyam has no choice to jump into the water (I know that Na'vi are less ashamed of nudity... Are they ? Anyways !)
So his brother and father get there, very fastly. Everything that happened before was like in 10 secs.
The rest I leave up to you 😏 We only need some funny dad-Neteyam and brother-Neteyam interactions when he just can't go out of the water, but he's very very late... Then we have Lo'ak that finally understands and just cannot stop laughing, making Jake more than less annoyed than he already was. And we have some intense playfull eye contacts with the reader. She's enjoying it haha.
Yeah... You can end it like you want 😂💖 My brain is a mess sometimes ugh 😥
Okay Imma stop 🙈🌸 I hope this inspired you and no pressure okay ? 🫂
Smooches 🥰
no cause this is so so funny and i hope you enjoyed bestie xx it feels good to be back writing for neteyam :((
pairing: neteyam x human!reader

Tumblr media
As a human on Pandora, there wasn't much for you to do, very little your body was inherently made for. You were slow and clumsy, a stark contrast to the Na'vi carrying you on his back like a little doll, all nimble and quiet as he treaded the deep shrubbery, his thumbs massaging your thighs as you rested your chin on his shoulder, humming contently in between peppering kisses to his neck.
As a human on Pandora, you were stuck in a lab most days, with filtered air and fluorescent lights, that did nothing for you, that had a rare talent of making even the most beautiful creature look ghastly and ashen, that gave you a headache, that made you miss the beautiful light peering through the uneven gaps created by the branches of the tall trees of the Omaticayan forest. Stuck as you were, you turned to artistic outlets for your boredom. You loved to draw, and you became very good in time, enough that the entire lab and some of the village were now covered in your landscapes and your portraits. The people loved you, and your talents, and often urged you to draw them or loved ones, as a way to immortalise a face or a moment forever in time, a priceless gift for them, and one that gave you a place amongst the Na'vi, even different, as you were.
As a human on Pandora, you didn't have a lot of choice of entertainment... or men. But you've never felt the lack... not when you had Neteyam. Your best friend, your confidant, he was always up for a challenge, and, let's just say, he always thought of you as one. In the few years since your 18th birthday, a rite of passage of sorts for humans, you were told, Neteyam made it his purpose to show you that you will never have to miss out on anything on Pandora, that he would make it his life's mission to... be there for you, in any and every way you needed, be it to be a shoulder to cry on, or a shoulder to rest your legs on as his head was in between your thighs, Neteyam was always there - ready to help, ready to serve.
You gulped as you reminisced about this morning, about the moans that escaped him as he was lapping at your folds like he was quenching an unquenchable thirst, like eating you out was for his own pleasure, and not your own, or the way he didn't stop until you were so overstimulated you were crying, something he made up for by showering you in soft kisses and quiet whispers of "you did so well for me, yawne. you always take me so well."
"You ok back there... friend?"
"Yes, Teyam. Just tired. Are we almost there yet?"
"Patience, love. You wanted more inspiration for your drawings, right? I told you I found just the place, and you're going love it, I promise. It's just a little further."
Well, he was right. The little meadow created by a small, clear pond, bustling with little fish swimming peacefully, drowned in warm sunlight, was the perfect backdrop for the painting you had in mind. With a small smirk, you pointed at the water and clicked your tongue at your much larger, beautiful, muscular friend.
"Get in, Teyam."
"Why?"
"I've wanted to draw you for a while, I just wanted the perfect background, and now I have it. Now go."
You chuckled to yourself as you heard a loud splashing noise, and settled on removing your pad and pens, placing them on the ground next to you as you thought about what positions would work best for what you had in mind. You gasped loudly when something soft hit you in the face, removing you from your less than innocent reveries - it seemed Neteyam was ahead of you, as you felt for the object that you removed from yourself and realised it was his loincloth. When you looked back at him, your mind shortcircuited at the sight of his naked body, glistening in the sun as the water dripped down every defined muscle, down his chest and abs, down his v-line, down his -
"You like what you see, yawne?"
Although it pained you, you raised your eyes until they met his beautiful features, tanhí shining brightly even in broad daylight, as they always did when he was overtly happy or amused, and by the wild, mischievous grin and crinkles by his eyes, it was a safe assumption he was both.
"I say you forget the painting for now, and come here so I can show you how... grateful I am you thought of me as your next subject."
It was a no-brainer to you, really, but when you heard a voice you knew all too well screaming, the noise echoing through the trees, heightening the sound, your body stilled in place.
"Neteyam! Are you there, boy?"
"Fuck! I forgot I was supposed to meet my dad for training."
"Quick, throw me the tewn-" you screeched as the instruction came too little too late, and in the heat of the moment and much to Neteyam's dismay, frightened by the quickly approaching steps of the Olo'eyktan, you threw the cloth in the opposing direction, somewhere in the bushes.
"Netey- ah, kid. What are you two doing here?"
You just looked at him, panicked, eyes flickering from him to Neteyam's younger brother, who looked at you suspiciously, eye narrowed as they assessed the situation at hand through a lens of youth and misdemeanour Jake couldn't really see, and you were glad.
"Cat got your tongue, kid?" The Sully patriarch's raised eyebrow did very little to will out of the catatonic state you found yourself in, so you remained quiet as he scoffed, turning his attention to his oldest son, instead.
"You were supposed to be in training at 1400 hours, remember?"
"Yes, sir."
"Come on, out. We need to be off and make up for it."
"I-I... can't."
"And why the hell not, boy?"
You felt Jake's eye roll deep in your soul, and you felt like you should take the blame for this since... you threw Neteyam's clothes away in fear, and everything. You should rectify this.
"Jake, I-"
"Oh, my Eywa! He's naked! He's so naked!"
Your mouth dropped in shock, but it was too late. The cat was indeed out of the bag, and as your and Neteyam's eyes met, listening to his dad's groans of disgust, you were a little relieved to see a hint of a smile on his face, the beautiful twinkle of amusement putting your mind at ease, letting you know it was all going to be ok. As long as you were together, and you had him, it was all going to be ok.
Reaching your hand behind your head to scratch the itchy spot at the base of your neck, you laughed awkwardly as you spoke:
"I'm... experimenting with some new artistic techniques?"

Do you have ur own ocs?
I actually do, yes! But their stories only exist in my head unfortunately. I wanna try very hard to actually flesh them out and share them with the world but it's not easy lol.
Hope you don't mind, this will be a little long
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These are the main guys I'm working on. My little witches, it's supposed to take place in a fantasy world but everything's subject to change.
Red hair: Terrence, Pink hair: Olivia, Blue hair: Aster.
Terrence and Olivia meet when Olivia goes to her local bakery and finds that they've hired a new worker, that worker being Terrence. He seems familiar to her for some reason but she can't quite put her finger on it 🤔 She eventually finds out that the owners found Terrence, injured near the bakery and took him in and allowed him to work there for a place to stay.
One day, Aster comes into the bakery and bursts into tears upon seeing Terrence. She talks about how she's happy to see him again since he (her brother) has been missing.
What she doesn't realize, however, is that Terrence isn't her brother but is instead someone else who has uhhh, borrowed his appearance.
That's the basic premise of the story and I worked on a whole magic system for this thing but realized that it wouldn't actually come into use that much haha.
Tumblr media
Then there's this guy!! La Min Han :]]
(I like his name a lot but my friends say his name is really ugly rip)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The story is takes place from middle school to high school, and my little guy over here is a little antisocial lol. He hates interacting with people except for people he already knows which is why throughout his entire school year, he's stuck to his childhood best friend, Thura Aung.
All that changes when he meets Yu Wai.
Tumblr media
Yu Wai is a bubbly cheerful character who experiences a lot of pressure from her parents. She has to move a lot because of their work and ends up not making any long-term friends because of it.
She quickly befriends La Min Han although he's hesistant at first. They become really close friends that their classmates can't help but tease them about it and that sparks an awkwardness between the two of them, mainly from La Min Han's side.
Sounds sooo stereotypical but I really want to focus on the importance of having good friends to support you through tough times and also how you should just communicate with people.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Extras are Eve, Anthony and his sister. I wanna make a short story with them. Eve's a new practicing witch and Anthony thinks she's the coolest girl ever.
The story's about Anthony's sister finding one of Eve's charms and using it to her benefit while Eve is freaking out because her charm is gone. It's something more sweet and lighthearted compared to the other stories I have in mind.
Aaaand my first ever sonic OC, Fig because it's a rite of passage!!!
That's all of it I think, I hope whoever read this far was at least a tiny bit entertained, if not I will cry. They are my babies and I care for them

This is meant with so much love but sometimes I read your interactions and you're such a millennial it's endearing! Coming into this fandom felt like joining an old lady's knitting club lmao 😭 (like with the emojis, genz uses the crying emoji as crying with laughter, y'all just use it as sad-crying. You frequently use 🥰 unironically, and it gives me such a whiplash) love you tho xx
Well I don't take this offensively - tho it is condescending, just know that about yourself - because I AM a millennial, but I do honestly feel a bit bad for you lol. I'm 35 years old and the fact that you seemingly think that is "old lady" age is??? I also mean this with love, it's gotta be terrifying living life and thinking that you have maaaybe a decade after you get out of your teens to feel young and have fun and enjoy things. Or that being young is (???) synonymous (???) with speaking like a teenager.
Just in reality here, your brain isn't even fully developed until you're 25, and you don't really begin to emotionally pull your head out of your own ass until about 30. So 30-50? That's when the real fun begins babe like idk how else to explain it you just have to live it. Hobbies are better, the sex is better (by far), the friendships are better, the freedom is so much fuckin better.
So yeah no you're right I don't think as hard on emoji meanings as zoomers do because I'm just having a good time interacting and talking rather than worrying if I'm being the 'right' kind of ironic, idk. I suppose I feel less need to make myself perform for other's approval online, but I did it in my own era, so I get your impulse. Also, I know it's a cyclical thing with pm all 15-25 yo's thinking that 30+ is like some crypt keeper style deadline for being fun or young. It's just a rite of passage, every generation thinks that way about the generation before them, we've all been there. And it is hilarious because when you do get past those ages and into your 30s, you will look back and realize exactly how clueless you were 🥴 that's also a rite of passage, believe me. Your moment will come
Mostly tho I just hope that you appreciate that the only reason this fandom is as good as it is or has lasted so long as it has is because of people my age and older. Most of the classic memes/lore/fics that this fandom is known for come from people 30+, because we have been where you are and lived it and actually made it past that smoke-and-mirrors stage of life that is your 20s. We can write about actual life and love and strife without sounding full of shit or unrealistic because we pour actual life experience and fully shaped senses of humor/character growth/etc into our work which most younger people simply cannot do (not all, I know a few brilliant younger writers and they deserve their spotlight). You too will get there eventually tho babe you will. And when the next generation laughs at you for your ~cringe~ emoji usage or whatever the litmus is for their era, you'll remember this message and then pat them on their sweet naive baby heads too 🥰

PACT - IF
DEMO(TBA)
You're finally doing it. You're finally setting out on your Quest, as is tradition. Though it's been a few years since you technically came of age, this rite of passage will settle it into tradition. The trip has been postponed long enough, and you won't let anything distract you!
Until, of course, you come across a strange creature unlike anything you've seen before. And, somehow, bind your souls together.
A soul bond, a pact, can't just be undone. They can fade, sure, but they're never broken. A pact blends the magic, emotion, and even physical traits of its members. Along with adjusting to the webs that now grow between your fingers, there's a pull in your chest you know is from the creature. It wants you to follow it.
What else can you do?
PACT is a light fantasy IF Game focusing on found family and love of all kinds. Design your character (including name, gender/pronouns, and magic specialty) and explore the bonds that form between life, for the smallest of reasons. The only major warning right now is attempted violence against (fantastical) animals.
ROs:
THE RESEARCHER: Vyn (nb, they/them)
A scatterbrained researcher and magizooligist, who is fascinated to see a creature even they don't recognize. Excitable and incredibly driven by their unending curiosity, Vyn insists on tagging along on your journey. They're incredibly smart, and have been offered multiple positions at various prestigious institutes... that they've turned down in favor of spending their time staring at bugs.
(Vyn is aromantic. They can be "romanced," but not in a traditional sense. You can be friends, queerplatonic partners, or romantic partners. In a romantic route, Vyn is still aro! They're not going to engage with this relationship like an allo person would.)
THE ACADEMIC: Lyra (f, she/her)
Most don't know the powerful Augusti family has a daughter. This is deliberate. Lyra was born with little magical energy, a stark difference from her family, and has been sheltered and kept a secret since birth, both for her "protection" and protection of the Augusti legacy. Lyra is late starting her Quest like you, and believes it to be just what she needs to throw off her family name for good and be known as the scholar of magical theory she truly is. Lyra is gentle and warm, though when her field of study is involved she can be a bit overly persistent.
THE ARTIFICER: Aster (m, he/him)
An engineer specializing in integrating technology and magic. The only thing Aster loves more than machines is his Phoenix companion, but even then the race is tight. He's extroverted, easily bored, and prone to ignoring his own needs in favor of his latest project.
THE GUARDIAN: Eilivur (f, she/her)
Born with enough magical energy to make her glow in the dark, but preferring a greatsword, Eilivur found the life of a knight far too restricting for her. Instead, she protects the places that often fall through the cracks. Her very presence is intimidating enough to ward off crime, but the locals know she's the one to turn to when they need food, muscle, or just a soldier to cry on. Ei isn't the most open of people, but she's a steady presence for those who need her.
THE GUIDE: Jae (nb, xe/xem)
Parents tell their children stories of an old witch in the woods who will eat them if they get lost. This couldn't be further from the truth. The witch just lives in the woods, isn't even that old, and prefers to put children to sleep before begrudgingly depositing them back in familiar territory. Xir life may seem very solitary, but xe takes pride in their role, guiding unsure travelers home. If people find xem off-putting... well, that's not xir problem.
THE HUNTER: Luca (f/m, she/he. player selectable)
Bounty hunting is a lucrative occupation, and your new pactmate has quite the price on its head. Cold, quick, and willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done... except when they appear to falter.

KHOC Week Day 4 - AUs
Another day, another @khoc-week post!
I was debating on doing this prompt, but then remembered my old Shadow of the Colossus AU, Seeking Salvation.
I might have shared it before, but this one is close to my heart. Every time I replay Shadow of the Colossus (amazing game btw) I can’t help but fall back in love with the environment, the lonely beauty in the world. No other game has ever captured it quite the same way since.
ANYWAY,
Tumblr media
This is a commission I got of Hinata (by the incredible MeiYu) from my Seeking Salvation AU.
Set years after KH3, Riku and Hinata are given a mission to travel to the far reaches of the galaxy to discover and explore new worlds. They’ve gone further than ever before and happen upon a lone planet orbiting a faint star.
Both of them feel something strange about the world, even from orbit safe in their ship. So they decide to land and find the small town of Toska. Elders in wooden masks watch over the townsfolk, who all refuse to give direct eye contact to either Riku and Hinata. The unsettling feeling about the town only intensifies the more they see.
They stay a while, trying to figure out what is going on. Something is off and they intend to find out. Shortly after arriving, Hinata discovers a black horse abandoned in a graveyard. It remains by the tombstone of what she assumes was its former master. She gathers food for the horse and discovers that a few of the town children also like to visit the horse and braid its mane.
Tumblr media
Through this, those children take a liking to Riku and Hinata and tell them that the town is preparing for the ritual—though the children don’t really know what that means. Just that every year one of them goes missing in the middle of the night and their family is really sad in the morning. But no one will talk about it. It’s just for grown ups, the kids say. They’ll get to find out when they have their rite of passage into adulthood.
Riku and Hinata don’t need the rite of passage to understand what the ritual actually is and they know they need to stop it from happening again. They sneak into the town’s church in the middle of the night, where they’d seen the elders gather at sunrise and sunset. There they find a collection of books and scrolls that explain the ritual sacrifice to maintain the seal of the Dormin, creatures of  with unfathomable power and abilities. The Dormin are sealed in a far away land that is forbidden for the people to set foot in.
Seeing enough, Hinata gets up and decides they need to find the Dormin themselves and see what the people are truly up against. If it really requires sacrifice or if they can find another way. Riku reminds her they have to be careful about interfering, but says he agrees with her plan regardless.
Though they aren’t able to make it there as they plan. A strange chant begins to fill the room, starting soft, then growing in volume. Both Hinata and Riku become unsteady and collapse to the ground, everything going black.
Waking up, Hinata finds herself tied up with lit torches all around her. There’s drums, chanting, and crying, but she still can’t see well. Everything’s blurry and she feels as if she’s dreaming. Then everything hushes to silence and Hinata hears a blade pierce a body. A sigh of relief washes over the crowd and Hinata smells the unmistakable scent of blood.
She’s untied and falls to her knees, blinking rapidly and trying frantically to regain her vision. An elder speaks lowly at the front of a crowd. Hinata makes out his shape against the flickering firelight. He speaks of peace and Toska being cleansed by the sacrifice. Hinata looks behind him, making out a blade protruding from...Riku’s body.
Everything after became a blur. Hinata remembers screaming, people running, elders chanting...none of it changed anything. Without fully regaining her strength, she gathered Riku’s body in a thick quilt and secured him to the horse she discovered in the graveyard. From there, she went for the Forbidden Lands. She would find the Dormin, and she would make them bring Riku back.
For those of you that have played Shadow of the Colossus, yes, Hinata has taken the place of Wander.
Tumblr media
It’s a haunting story, but one that I grow obsessed with over and over again.
This is a really old one shot, but I wrote the final Colossus battle Hinata does before Riku is resurrected.
------------------------------------
Was it worth it?
All the scars, the sacrifice, the terror of each new encounter and mission given by the shadows… in the end of it all, was it worth it?
Hinata leaned her head back against the cliffside, the warmth from the thin rays of sunlight peeking through the leafy overbrush warmed her paled face. The color in her cheeks had long left. Her fingertips were grayed, her golden eyes dulled. Thin tattoos were etched into her skin, creating intricate patterns that she hadn’t remembered putting there. Each time she saw her reflection in the water, she noticed a new one. She hadn’t said it aloud, but she suspected they were the markings of the Colossi… the ones she killed.
Her fingers traced the indentations, her mind replaying the final moments of battle when she would thrust her blade through their skulls. Their cries of agony as the life left their eyes, it kept her up at night and plagued her thoughts throughout the day. Fifteen kills... Fifteen screams that would forever haunt her dreams.
Only one remained… The final Colossus.
After this, her journey would finally be over. Riku would be given new life, Sam and Velcia would be able to leave in peace, and Hinata would be left behind, paying the price for completing the unthinkable.
She swallowed thickly, closing her eyes and taking in a long, deep breath.
This was it.
There was no turning back.
Her eyes opened, her hands clenching at her sides against the rocky ground. She had to keep moving. With a pained moan, she pushed herself to her feet, stumbling forward when her legs refused to cooperate. She caught herself against the trunk of a tree, taking in a few deep breaths to regain her strength. There wasn’t much left to her, and she knew as much. Each kill made her weaker, in both mind and body.
“You can do this,” she whispered, looking towards the crumbled bridge that would have taken her life if it hadn’t been for Nia. “If not for yourself--” she stood back up straight, swaying side to side as she rebalanced. “Then for the others.”
Blowing out a breath, she looked up the cliffside that led up to her final battle. Her dagger appeared in her hand in a wisp of shimmering, blue mist, ready to be thrown. She focused on a pillar that leaned over the top of the cliff and stepped back as she readjusted the blade in her grasp. Sucking in a sharp breath, she ran forward and threw her dagger with practiced ease. It embedded itself into the pillar, cracking the stone. Hinata disappeared in a blue mist reappearing at the dagger’s hilt, where she pulled it out from the pillar as it crumbled away. She scrambled back to be on top of the cliff, slipping and nearly falling with the rocks before she gripped the edge of the cliffside. Her heart pounded in her chest, her breaths labored and short as she watched the pillar smash against the rocks below.
She pulled herself back up to safety, struggling to make a maneuver that normally would have been done with ease. Rumbling thunder greeted her as she got back to her feet. Her jaw dropped at the swirling storm ahead of her. Thick, dark clouds surrounded a monstrous tower that went higher than anything Hinata had seen in the forbidden lands. Her eyes followed the building, causing her knees to falter when she saw the familiar golden eyes of a Colossus at the very top. It wasn’t a building, or a tower... It was her final foe.
Its fiery eyes stared straight through her as it awaited her challenge. Lightning circled its wrists as it reached out towards her with long, straggly arms that sent chills through Hinata’s spine. Blinding light surged from its fingertips, coming straight towards her and forcing her out of the impending panic. She pushed herself to her feet, running to cover behind a tall pillar that stood amongst an old decrepit courtyard Hinata found herself in. The beams of electricity struck the pillar, shaking the ground around her and causing cracks to form in the stone.
Hinata struggled to stay upright, crying out in fright as everything crumbled around her. She peeked around the pillar, gasping and turning away when the Colossus immediately fired another shot, disintegrating a chunk of the rock and forcing Hinata to lower to her knees to avoid being seen.
She summoned her dagger into her grasp, taking in a breath before she threw it further into the courtyard and warped to it. The blue mist was still dissipating away from her warp when she threw her dagger again, and then again, each warp bringing her closer to the Colossus and missing its earth shattering shots of electricity.
The closer she got, the windier it became. As she neared its legs, pelting rain poured around her, making it difficult to see. She was close enough that it could no longer take shots at her, but it instead attempted to smash her with its feet. Her chest heaved as she ran forward, stumbling from the force of its foot slamming against the ground behind her. There had to be a way to climb onto its body, there always was for the others.
She circled around it, her lungs burning and legs threatening to crumble. Despite it, her body never did fully give out during a battle. It was as if she was given strength for the fight itself as the markings on her body glowed and pulsed adrenaline inside of her, pushing her forward.
Running between its legs, she found what she was looking for. There was a platform near the ground, one with jagged stone and moss that gave her the perfect grappling point. She climbed on, gripping the moss as the Colossus growled and shook its body in an attempt to throw her off completely. Harsh winds blew past her, nearly blowing her away completely as the Colossus  writhed beneath her. Regardless, she continued upwards, allowing the glow from her tattooed markings to illuminate her way. The light from them melded with the mossy stone that made up the Colossus and it created a thin pathway that led where she needed to go. She followed without hesitation, one step after the next, narrowly avoiding the creature's hands blindly reaching for her behind its back. Rain clouded her vision, but as long as she could see the thin blue trail of light she knew where she had to go.
She wasn’t sure how long she had been climbing when she reached its waist. There was a thick platform that surrounded it, the last portion of rock before all that remained of its body was fur and blackened skin. Hinata fell to her knees, struggling to remain conscious as her tattoos faded and the adrenaline inside of her reduced to nothing. The corners of her vision went black, blurring even further than the rain was already doing. She couldn’t feel her hands even though they caught her when she fell forward, but she could see the blotches of black blood between her fingers.
Was that her blood?
Whispers overtook her fading thoughts, filling her entire being as the Dormin shadows spoke to her, “The vitals are in a place thou cannot reach from there…”
Hinata’s hands clenched beneath her as she forced herself to look up. She was in the creature’s blindspot behind its back. The platform was thick enough that it couldn’t feel her presence, but it was still searching for her as it swayed side to side and randomly shot beams of its electricity into the courtyard.
“Climb higher from that place…” the whispers urged her forward, taking no account of her current state.
Her tattoos pulsated with light, enticing her with a trickle of adrenaline. She whimpered, attempting to stand. Her arms trembled and gave way beneath her, and she fell back to the platform completely.
“I can’t,” she cried softly, her voice completely lost in the storm around her. “I-I’m sorry, I can’t…”
The warmth of light caused her to wince before she opened her eyes. The storm parted, the clouds thinning and allowing rays of sunlight to pour in. Hinata blinked, fighting the urge to reel back from the light and instead gazed directly inside, allowing it to completely envelope her. Time seemed to stand still as she looked out over the forbidden lands. Bright blue beams of light pierced through the sky, each one residing where she defeated a Colossus. In the center of it all was the temple. Its immense and once intimidating size seemed small in comparison to Hinata’s perch.
That was where everything began…
Riku laid there, lifeless, patiently awaiting Hinata to finish her quest to set things right. Sam and Velcia watched over him, no doubt agonizing where Hinata disappeared to when they had woken up that morning. She left them at dawn, leaving without a word. This wasn’t their fight. They helped her along the way, but in the end, it wasn’t their burden to bear.
Hinata pushed herself to stand, her legs quaking and threatening to give under her weight, but they remained strong as she gripped the hilt to the Dormin Blade. It glowed from the sunlight as she unsheathed it and held it high. A thin beam of yellow light penetrated the storm, shining out over the forbidden lands towards the temple.
She had to give them a sign.
A sparkle of light greeted her in response from the temple’s entrance. It rose as a pearl of light, spiraling upwards before bursting into a shimmering firework. Hinata breathlessly laughed, her arm losing its strength and falling limp to her side with the Dormin blade loosely in her grasp.
They saw her.
The clouds swirled back together, blocking out the sunlight and once again leaving Hinata alone with her quest. Exhaustion coursed through her, melding with throbbing pain from the perseverance she forced herself into over the past month. All of it, every moment led to this and she had to finish what she started.
No matter the cost.
“Climb higher from that place…” the whispers prompted her again.
Hinata nodded, blowing out a breath as she closed her eyes and muttered, “Give me your strength to finish this.”
She staggered back, gritting her teeth at the sudden rush of energy and adrenaline pumping through her in response. It wasn’t natural and even as the pain in her joints vanished, she knew deep down that it was still there and was only going to be worse when the effects wore off.
Opening her eyes, she narrowed her gaze towards the arm of the Colossus. She sheathed the Dormin blade and summoned her dagger. Taking in a deep breath, she shook out her arms and switched between the balls of her feet, before sprinting forward. With a final push at the edge of the platform she vaulted off, throwing her dagger in succession and piercing it into the Colossus’ bicep.
It yowled and grabbed for the dagger, missing Hinata as she landed on its forearm and hung from its blackened and matted fur. She resummoned her dagger, slicing into its arm before it even noticed her there. Its roar was deafening, shaking everything around it and rattling the rocks that made up its body. Hinata swung herself up onto its straightened out arm so it could find her.
She ran forward, ducking and sliding when its giant hand came reaching for her. She narrowly missed it and reached its shoulder. The fur along its back kept her hidden from sight while it searched for her. Its hands swept blindly, becoming more frantic by the moment as it realized she was nearing its head.
Her hands clung to the fur, pulling her further up towards its neck and the glowing markings on the top of its head that pulsed brighter the closer she got. Her own tattoos shined brilliantly, illuminating her path as they did on her way up. The rain pelted her back, the roars and screams from the creature realizing its impending doom resonated around her. All she focused on was closing the distance as she unsheathed the Dormin blade. Its glow matched the markings on the Colossus, begging to be plunged into the center and finish the ritual.
The whispers in her mind grew in volume, telling her to take the chance, to not hesitate—even though she always did.
It never got easier to take a life.
With both hands readied on the hilt, she lifted the blade up and sucked in a breath before striking it down, piercing the softened skin. A scream filled the air. The Colossus reared back its entire body. Hinata grabbed onto a rock protruding from the creature’s head, keeping herself steady as the Colossus thrashed. Blackened blood spewed from the wound, seeping into its fur. Hinata looked away, desperately trying to hang on before a rocky hand wound around her waist.
She cried out from the tightened grip that only grew firmer as the Colossus realized it had her. It brought her in front of its face, its eyes burning and fingers tightening to cut off her air completely. Hinata stared back into its gaze, the glow of her tattoos fading as the Dormin recognized her fate. She gasped for air, feeling her bones cracking and giving way under the pressure.
Holding out her hand, she summoned her dagger and hurled it towards its head. It clinked off a rock protruding from its skull, but Hinata warped to it regardless, catching herself on the soaked fur as her dagger fell to the world below. She forced herself to her knees, grabbing the hilt of the blade that was still stabbed inside of the Colossus’ head. One more strike, that’s all it would take.
“DORMIN!” she cried out, watching her tattoos fill with light as she pulled out the blade and thrusted it back in.
She got to her feet, putting all of her weight onto the blade until only the hilt remained above. The curdling scream in response caused tears to fill her eyes. Every kill was the same, each one left her empty as darkness covered the Colossus’ lifeless skin. The colossal body went limp, its head falling forward and rather than brace herself, Hinata allowed herself to fall.
The rain ceased, the clouds parting to reveal the sun as the fire in the Colossus’ eyes went out. Wind whistled past Hinata’s ears as she fell, watching the creature crumble and the dark shadows claim their prize. Her eyes lifted to the sky before closing entirely. Riku’s face appeared in her mind, their last moments together. His smile, the way he always knew what to say when she needed it most… He would have those moments again. Life would breathe back into him… finally.
If this was to be the end, at least it happened with the knowledge that she finished what she set out to do.
“It is done…” The whispers filled her being.
Hinata’s eyes fluttered open, seeing her blackened tears rising in droplets above her as she fell.
She had done it.
Black, shadowy tendrils shot out from the Colossus’ remains. Hinata swallowed hard, refusing to watch as they made their way towards her, as they always did. Before she could hit the ground, the shadows pierced her body, momentarily stopping her heart. Her lips parted and black mist poured from her mouth.
Then everything went black.

Return to origin band together chapter 2 Spruce
The troll trio have just left Bergen town and are on their way to find the rest of Brozone.
"Operation family harmony is on and poppin!" Branch exclaims as his tail wags a little but he notices Poppy looking at him. "What?" He asks. "I just....well if I didn't know any better I'd almost say you were excited" She says giving him a sly smirk. "Uh it has nothing to do with my brothers" Branch tells her trying to deny it but in all honesty he was secretly excited but also a bit nervous so far John hasn't said anything about his new look but the same can't be said for his other brothers.
"All right, all right!" A certain voice echos the speakers as the two trolls look up in surpirse. "Tiny,Branch,Poppy, and this random dude-" "What?" John dory says confused at the extra passenger. "Are on another musical adventure filled with heart hilarity and happiness" Tiny tells everyone over the speaker and the three trolls head up to the drivers seat and low and behold Tiny Diamond was driving.
Normally a normal troll would freak out because Tiny is only a month old but glitter trolls oftentimes are born walking and talking like any other troll. It was some kind of evolutionary thing apparently though they still acted young and all that even if some did claim to be adults.
"Tiny! What are you doing here?" Poppy asks very confused and rightfully so. "Well aunt Poppy for your information I am no longer a baby. I am a big boy now,and I’m on a mansized rite of passage to learn lessons of life, courage and maybe love." He explains while Poppy coos at his cuteness as if he isn't a month old he may think he is a adult but there was plenty of stuff he had to learn and mature.
"Uh should we be letting a baby drive?" John dory asks rightfully worried,he really didn't want Rhonda to crash or anything even if she can mostly handle herself without much interference it's always good to be safe.
"Not to worry, fellow grownup.I have procured my learner’s permit" Tiny explains waving off John's worries by showing a very much fake ID with Tiny wearing a mustache.
"Who is Adulty McManface?" Poppy asks confused. "The better question is, are you a narc?" Tiny asks with a serious face and it causes John to snort in laughter while Poppy denies it, this kid was hilarious. He seems to have everything handled so he will leave him be for now he will check up on him often though as he only has a learners permit even if it was fake.
"Enough chitchat, Adulty McManface. Step on it!" John tells Tiny who happily complies. "Okay guys we need to find our brothers and fast. But don't worry old Branch has got it handled. All we have to do is follow the clues" He says revealing a clue board with all kinds of brozone stuff with a smirk while John wonders how he was able to that so fast.
"Wow. Check out your old outfits, puffy jackets, puka shell necklaces, denim tuxedos?!" She exclaims looking over each pic before noticing one and gasping. "Branch, did you have frosted tips?!" She asks she needs to know.
"Yeah it was an era" He says with a small smell as he reminisces the good times before....well the break up. Back then they were just having a good time being a boyband and John Dory's perfectionism wasn't as bad. "Oh and don't froget his perm" John tells Poppy who jumps on him and hold his face with her paws. "No way pictures or it didn't happen" she can't believe her boyfriend had a perm as a baby.
John quickly pulls out the pic with a sly smile "Look at you! You were so cute. I love it!" She says wanting to cry at how adorable he used to be. "But we had to pull the plug when he tried to frost his perm" John Dory says with a grimace. "Oh come on it was an era!" Branch says annoyed his tail flicking a few times while Poppy was gushing like crazy. He couldn't help it! He was just a baby at that time though he was glad it was stopped he could only imagine how that would have looked like.
"While you two are strolling down memory lane,I'll work on finding Spruce" He grumpily tells them heading back to his clueboard. "I’m gonna need copies of that pic, wallet size" She whispers to John Dory even though Branch knows that she knows he can hear her when she whispers due to their enhanced hearing.
"Listen, baby brother,we don’t need your little board to find Spruce" John Dory tells him putting a hand on his furry shoulder. "Its not little" Branch grumbles. "Because I got this!Ha! Booyah!" He says pulling out a postcard. The two trolls look at the postcard it looked old at least a decade old. "A postcard that says, “Wish you were here? That’s it? It’s not even signed." Branch says taking the postcard and looking it over. Though the postcard had a ever so slight smell of a beach? It was almost completely gone as it mostly smelled like JD and Rhonda.
"Don't worry Branch it’s definitely Spruce. I mean, he’s the only one I know who talks that way." John says trying to reassure his baby brother. "There’s no return address. It’s blank, this could be from anywhere. We can’t find Spruce with this" He complains. The scent is so faint he couldn't even track it if he tried to.
"Yeah, we can!All we have to do is find this sunset!" Poppy says enthusiasticly while Branch walks off to the front. "Liking that optimism Poppyseed. One word Branch keeper!" John tells him he can tell that Branch and Poppy were made for each other.
As Branch walks up to the front of Rhonda John Dory can't help but keep glancing at his baby brother. Just what happened to him? When he crashed the wedding he looked for his baby brother and he was shocked at what he had become. Even though Branch was physically different John could easily tell it was his baby brother even with his new self his face remained mostly unchanged and he could recognize Floyd's old vest. Also his big brother instincts told him it was Branch and they were never wrong.
But still those legs why were they shaped like that? He has paws now too alonf with pawpads? He also caught sight of fangs in his mouth. And don't even get him started on the tail that was the most jarring thing for him by far. Watching the limb react to Branch's emotions was something else. It took alot in him to not touch said limb becuase he knew Branch would probably not like that. Also when he put his hand on Branchs shoulder he could feel longer fur. John Dory knows alot can happen in twenty years but this much isn't normal.
It also seems that whatever affected Branch affected Poppy too as she had similar characteristics as Branch. He wants to ask Branch he really does but something tells him he isn't going to get a answer. If it was something Branch wanted to tell him he would have told him already.....right? Maybe after this whole ordeal is over Branch will tell him if not then he will ask.
Branch heads to the front of Rhonda he needs to clear his head,so much happened in the span of just a few hours. "Hey, man. I know about being treated like a baby. But while it’s just the two of us,you want some of this?" Tiny sneakily asks him as he pulls out.....a ring pop.
Ugh he remembers those, a certain other group introduced him to those. At first he liked them,it eased his mind and took away his worries but over time he grew to like thin a bit too much and he knew he had to stop it took time but he managed. "Nah,Thanks, man. I....I can’t get back on that train." he refused albeit nicely he knew Tiny was only trying to help him out. He wonders where he managed to get one though.
"I mean, hey, look at this. We’re never gonna find Spruce with this.I bet this sunset doesn’t even exists" Branch says only to look up and see the exact same sunset.......he really wants to scream at how ridiculous that is so he settles for a facepalm instead.
"Ooooh hot dog!" Tiny exclaims excited. "You've got to be kidding me of course it exists why wouldn't it?! Hey, guys! You’re gonna want to see this." He calls the other two trolls over.
Poppy grins at seeing the sunset "Alright! I knew we’d find it."She says giving John Dory a high five. "Spruce must be on that island" She says pointing out the obvious. 'No he must be under that island partying with techno trolls!' Branch sarcastically says in his head
John quickly spins Tiny out of the drivers seat and takes over thankfully Branch was easily able to catch Tiny with his paw. "Woah easy there goggles!" He exclaims not liking the sudden change before climbing onto Branchs tail,it was one of his favorite places to be other than his dad's hair it was so fluffy and while he loved aunt Poppy's her tail isn't as fluffy.
"All right, y’all. Let’s mobilize!" John says grinning as he pulls down his goggles. "Yeah, pedal to the metal, JD!" Poppy calls out excited her tail wagging as they get closer to the island .....AND A CLIFF!
"Uh John Dory what are you doing?!" Branch says very much scared with his ears pinned back and his fur fluffing up as he tries very hard to not grip at something with his claws. "Worry not my friends Rhonda here is completely waterproof" Joh tells them trying to ease their worries. That doesn't help Branch in the slightest he is more worried about THE CLIFF THEY ARE RAPDILY APPOROACHING!
Before Branch could get another word out Rhonda is jumping over the cliff all the while everyone is screaming, well Tiny and Jd are screaming Poppy and Branch are making noises similar to screaming but with a more animalistic sound sort of like a screech until they enter the water.
Soon enough they reach land and Rhonda's door opens and out comes a bunch of water along with Jd,Poppy,Branch and Tiny Diamond with the two transformed trolls fur being completely damp. Poppy spits out some water before shaking herself off. Branch meanwhile is coughing finally able to get some proper air before he shakes himself off too. "Good old Rhonda, completely waterproof, huh?" He asks his brother very much annoyed who Just coos at Rhonda.
The four begin to make their way through the island and John who has a machete has been cutting through any obstacles that block their way. Though it was a bit hard at times to keep their balance on whatever it was they were walking on so Poppy decided to start walking on all fours much to the confusion of JD, while Branch absolutely refuses to do so in front of John Dory so he just uses his claws to keep balance.
"Uhm just curious why are you walking like that?" John asks gesturing to the whole walking situation. "Oh! Well it's hard for us to keep our balance on these things" She gestures to the thing they were walking on. "This way of walking is much easier for us" She explains as John turns around to see if Branch was doing the same thing but he wasn't he was still walking on 2 legs and, were those claws?! His baby brother has claws now?!
Looking at them they were sharp and they were gripping the ground pretty good so he doesn't think he will be falling anytime soon so he leaves it be for now, though he wonders just what else can he do? He definitely heard screeching coming from the two as they were falling and no troll would be able to make that sound normally. "So walking that way doesn't hurt or bother you at all?" He asks Poppy. "Nope sure doesn't, in fact walking this way feels natural for us and we like to walk this way more than walking on two legs" She explains as she follows him.
John decides to not ask anymore questions about this for now,as long as they were comfortable and not in pain who was he to judge? "So, John Dory, who wrote that song 'Girl, I Love Your Love, Girl'?" Poppy asks she needs some details about her favorite boyband and now is the perfect time to ask. "I did" John replies grinning.
"Cool, who wrote, 'Girl, You Break My Heart, Girl,?" She asks her tail making a heart shape. "Wrote that one too" John replies. "So cool, who wrote, 'Girl, I love your love, girl, you break my heart, girl, I still love you,but I seriously think we should have a talk about our relationship, girl?" She asks and John winces a bit, yeah he wasn't the best at naming songs back then.
"Oh Branch wrote that one" John tells her wanting to mess with Branch a little for old times sakes as Poppy uses her hair to lower a limb down for them to walk on. Branch just stares at him shocked. "Shut up!That was my favorite BroZone song, like, ever!" Poppy couldn't believe her Boyfriend actually wrote a song and it was her favorite one!
"Jk that was also me" John says chuckling. "Branch has never written a song" He explains though he wonders if Branch wrote a song now it has been 20 years after all. "No duh I didn't I was a baby. What did you want me to write about, diaper rash?" He asks sarcastically.
"Okay, take it easy, Bitty B" John jokes as he takes a leaf and begins to slide down using it as a sled. "Hey, what’s wrong?" Poppy asks feeling concerned for how her boyfriend has been acting. "Nothing, super happy,This is our most fun mission yet. Yay." He says very much sarcastically sliding down as she follows.
"Branch, do you know how lucky you are?A brother is a friend who can never leave you. It’s the strongest bond in the world.I would kill to have a sibling to sing with, Branch" She says as she thinks about the possibilities if she ever had a sibling. "Ha! Yeah, well you can have mine" He grumbles.
"Okay fine" She simply replies and walks away. Branch sighs he really needs to get better at expressing himself. He knows Poppy means well but she hasn't gone through what he went through, she doesn't understand. "Poppy wait" He says holding out a paw but she is already too far away. Tiny who was happily laying on Branchs tail speaks up. "Grownup stuff. Am I right?"He says chuckling. "You know, I’ve still got that thang, if you want it" He offers pulling out the ring pop.
"Whoa, whoa. Don’t be waving that thing around!" Branch says he really doesn't want Poppy or well anyone seeing Tiny with that around and Tiny simply sticks it in his mouth content. With a sigh he gently places Tiny back onto his tail.
"All right, y’all we’re getting close to something,I can feel it"John says his big brother senses were tingling he could tell that Spruce was nearby well until he walked into something and that something was a person! It was no troll or bergen that's for sure.
They all scream in shock while Poppy and Branchs fur puffed up in shock and fear. "Whoa, what do we got here?Hey, guys. Looks like I found some fellow rock climbers." The person says to others who were below him. "Hi!" They happily reply back. "Welcome to Vacay Island.Where every day is a vacay." The vacationer gestures to the beautiful landscape.
The four of them make it to the beach and to be honest it looks amazing and to be honest Branch wouldn't mind coming here to relax every once in a while but right now he has a brother to find. The four of them look around when Branch picks up on something.
The smell he could smell Spruce! His scent is all over this place he must be here alot for it to be this strong. He follows the scent albeit discreetly and he finds himself in front of them...ocean? Why was Spruce in the ocean? His question is soon answered by a certain troll that's surfing while singing. Wow he looks....so different but in a good way. He looks so happy here much better than when he was back at the pod stressing over his abs.
Meanwhile Poppy looks at a poster she brought with her. "The hearthrob?" She asks herself. Soon he finishes singing and heads off to a resturant 'Bruce and sons and daughter'. "Oh yeah I totally see it" She says smirking as they head to the restaurant.
They make their way into the resturant and wow it looks....amazing so many people eating and relaxing.Though all these loud sounds and smells were a bit much for Branch and Poppy but they could deal with it.
"Running drinks to the back twotop.Lenny! Seaweed floats are almost out" Spruce tells another vacationer a worker perhaps? "Thanks boss" they reply back. "Hey, yo, Spruce! Spruce! Hey!" John calls out only to get hit in the face with a menu which almost makes Branch laugh and Poppy snickers. "Specials are on the back.Don’t order the clams. Don’t ask why.Fricassee squid and one jellyfish slider." Spruce not knowing who was talking to him.
"Spruce wait!" John Dory calls out and that finally seems to get his attention. "Huh? Oh, no. I knew this would happen one day. Listen, I know you recognize me from BroZone, and I’m happy to give you an autograph or whatever.
But can you please be discreet about it?" Spruce says it was only a matter of time before someone recognized him surprised it took twenty years but still.
"Spruce it's us your brothers!" John says excited to see someone else from his family. Spruce turns around and gasps. In front of him was John dory his older brother and to be honest not much changed other than his slightly muted colors and semi downward ears. But the other one....he could recognize easily. It was Bitty B but what happened to him? Why was he so furry? What happened to his legs and oh sugar is that a tail?! He looks over to the pink troll that was beside him and she has the same features so whatever happened to B happened to her?
Well it looks like Bitty B is fine for now but he is definitely asking for details later. "Whoa. Bitty B?!" Spruce exclaims so happy to see his baby brother again even with his new.....features it was still his baby brother. He runs over to Branch much to John's shock and sadness though John knew he probably deserves it.
Spruce picks up and tosses Branch in the air pretty easily while laughing. It feels good to toss him around he used to do that all the time when Branch was a trolling and he enjoyed it all the time as his laughter would echo in the pod. "No tossing okay? I'm too big to be tossed!" Branch tells Spruce who was still laughing. Even if the tossing brought back good memories.
"The last time I saw you,you were in diapers" Spruce tells him with a grin man his baby brother really has grown. "Diapers right" Branch says annoyed. "Wet willy!" Spruce says giving Branch one while laughing,he honestly couldn't help himself he keeps being brought back to the good old days and he would give wet Willie's to all his younger siblings for fun.
"Stop it that's disgusting! I am a grown up!" He Branch tells him annoyed as he shakes his head trying to get the saliva off, why do his brothers keep treating him like he was still a baby?! He was 23 years old!
"Oh sorry a whet william" Spruce grins before he's stopped by Poppy. "Hi, Spruce. I’m Poppy.
Wow. It’s, like It’s so cool to meet you or whatever. This is Tiny Diamond" She introduced the tiny glitter troll only to see he was wondered off to a bowl of nachos. "Hey, what’s up?Killer nachos you got here, by the way.Yeah!" He happily jumps into the bowl having the time of his tiny life.
"Okay, Spruce. We’re here because Floyd-" John starts before he's stopped. "Actually no one’s called me Spruce in years. I go by Bruce now" He explains much to Branch and John's surprise. "I’m sorry. Did you say Bruce?" John asks to make sure. He couldn't believe it one of his brothers changed their name? Well it wasn't too different from Spruce he can get used to it although it will take some time.
"Yeah. I wanted to put the whole boy band thing behind me now that I’m a dad" Bruce explains walking to a counter. That makes John and Branch freeze. Their brother is a dad? They were uncles?! Wow so much has changed,and....they weren't there to see it. Branch was honestly happy for Bruce,he was able to settle down, relax and even have kids.
"I can't wait for you to meet everybody! Hi honey these are my brothers, unexpectedly" He says to a vacationer. "Oh. Oh! Oh, hello there. So nice to finally meet you" She greets them she would wave but her hands were a bit full at the moment as the trio greet her.
"This is my wife and business partner, Brandy. She is my soulmate. My very tall soulmate. But we make it work." He says smiling much to the confusion of the others. "How?" John has to ask he needs to know otherwise this will drive him crazy later.
"We don’t even really know how it works.I’m kidding. I’m I’m not. I’m I don’t know" Brandy stampers out a bit emberassed, these were the brothers Bruce talked about alot and to meet them all of a sudden caught her off guard.
"Daddy, Daddy, can I have a cookie?" Pme of Bruce's kids asked and he happily hands them a cookie. "Becoming a dad was like a, like a seismic shift in my brain." Bruce explains. "Daddy, Bruce Jr. bit me" another kid complains. "No biting!" He gently scolds the other one. "Daddy, I don’t see how any government stands a chance" another one tells him. Just how many kids does he have?! "Your not wrong kid" He replies back. "I’m stuck in this ketchup bottle" another one asks somehow getting stuck. "Okay, gonna handle all of that.Just give Daddy two seconds, okay? Love you.As a dad-" He says before another one goes up.
"Daddy, Daddy, Daddy! Guess what?I have pink eye!" Oner one tells him as if that's a good thing?! "Oh my pink eye!" Branch says while the others are grossed out. "Oh *beep!" Tiny exclaims very much disgusted. "Look, Spruce, gotta cut to the chase. We’re not here to catch up. We’re here because we need to hit the perfect family harmony" John Dory explains.
'Do not sock your brother in the face Bruce do not sock your brother in the face. Your better than this you have matured' Bruce mentally tells himself. He can't believe after 20 years John was STILL going on about that stupid perfect family harmony! Here he was hoping to catch up with his older brother but to hear those words come out of his mouth it....AGH!
"You’re still going on about that?Hey,get these guys their meals to go" He tells someone as he prepares to walk away he didn't want to deal with it anymore. John doesn't realize just how badly he messed up with his perfect shtick. Even to this day Bruce still flinches upon hearing the word perfect!
"No, no, no. You don’t understand. It’s for Floyd. He’s being held captive!" John explains. Bruce couldn't beloved his ears, one of his younger brothers was being held captive?! He really really hopes he isn't being tortured but something tells him that's not unlikely. "What? Well, then, what are we waiting for?We need to call the authorities" Spruce says wondering why they haven't done it sooner?!
"Hit the perfect family harmony.Spruce, it it it has to be us.Floyd’s being held captive in a diamond prison" John says its not like he wants to do it either he wants to put that part of his life behind him. A diamond prison.....why did it have to be diamond.
"Oh. Well, yeah, you need the perfect family harmony for that" Bruce admits. "Exactly" John says grinning. "Wait. But how? We’ve never even come close to pulling it off.You do remember our last show, don’t you?" Bruce says. Remember? As if he could ever froget the very night he screwed up everything, broke their family apart and wished he could take back and fix it.
"If we practice, I know we’ll be able to nail it,we have to" John says jumping up on stage. "At my age? I don't really think that-" Bruce says laughing before being cut off. "See, guys. I told you Dad wasn’t in a band" One of his kids tells another.
"Oh, I was in a band. I was in the band. You ask your mother if I was in a band" Bruce says,he couldnt believe that how own kids wouldnt believe him. "Oh, he was in a band" Brandi tells the kids. "Prove it!Prove it! Prove it! Prove it!" Poppy chants and the kids join her.
:All right I’ll prove it.I’ll prove it right now!" Bruce says jumping on stage with John Dory. "Yes! Bring it in, Brother!" John says he is so happy to see one of his brothers joining him again to sing. "Branch, get up there. Go sing with your brothers" Poppy tells Branch who is still a bit grumpy at the moment, he has to keep an eye on Bruce's kids in case they get any ideas to pull his tail as he has been seeing them eyeing it.
"I’ll do it to save Floyd when I have to. But I’m not doing it right now just for “funsies" He says crossing his arms tail flicking he didn't want to sing with his brothers.....did he? "Oh, yeah. Okay. You’re probably right" Poppy says using a bit of reverse psychology.
"No, no, no. You’re the one who, wait. What did you say?" Branch asks confused normally Poppy would encourage it did she finally learn to stop pushing? "You’re afraid that singing with your brothers again after all these years
will overwhelm you with emotions too powerful for you to handle. I agree with you,
I don’t think you can handle it,so I think you shouldn’t do it" She says hoping Branch will take the bait.
"I think I can handle singing a song" Branch says he can handle singing one song with them besides it could be a good warm up. "Prove it!
Prove it! Prove it! Prove it!" Poppy and the kids chant. "Alright fine, but this is more than likely beneath me" He says sighing he just hopes he could remember the words and steps it has been 20 years. "Yeah whoohoo!" Poppy yells excited to see part of Brozone perform again after twenty years. She uses her tail to play the song.
*one song later again I'm not writing that love the song tho*
"Ah, yes. We still got it!" John says excited it felt so good to sing with his brothers again. "Oh, tell me that didn’t feel good!" Bruce says sharing his enthusiasm. "I can’t believe I remembered every word and every step" Branch says surpirsed but happy tail wagging. "Looks like your band days aren’t behind you" Poppy tells him letting out a purr mixed with what sounded like a churr. It makes Branch turn very red at the face in emberassment as his tail curls to reflect it.
"Um, Brandy, my love. So, I know we have kind of a lot going on here, but do you think it would be crazy if I were to-" Bruce starts to tell his amazing wife. "Uh, leave me here to manage the restaurant and all these kids so you can go on a musically charged rescue missionwith your brothers?" She asks him. "Yeah that" He says wincing he knows thirteen kids is alot for one person.
"It’d be crazy if you didn’t.You’ll never forgive yourself if you don’t help your brother" She tells him with a smile as she gently pulls out the kid that was stuck in the ketchup bottle. She knows her husband too well she knows how he is with stuff that concerns his family.
"And you can cover when I go on my girls yoga retreat next month. All month. But you should leave now before you get pink eye.Save yourself!" She tells him pulling off her glasses showing the early stages of pink eye as this kids begin to try and talk to him them all showing the stages of pink eye. "Gross!Love you though!" He says as they all run off to Rhonda and they quickly take off ready to try and find Clay.
Enjoy this long ass chapter I found the transcript online and it has made writing so much better

imagine joseph falling in love and trying to flirt/show interest in his future wife. my goddddd XD absolute disaster. he was so shy and stutter-y before he became the father.
I’ve personally always seen Joseph as an eloquent person, someone who is contemplative and “inhabited” but not afraid to talk to other people… except maybe to the girl he had feelings for and who would become his wife. In this case, maybe he was flustered and awkward, haha.
By the way, I think it’s sad that Far Cry 5 doesn’t tell us more about Joseph’s wife because, clearly, he loved (and probably still loves) her deeply and she was one of the most important people in his life. At the time, he hadn’t seen his brothers, his only family, for years and had no idea where they were. He was alone until he found her and she became his new anchor, but the game treats her and their daughter more like a plot device than actual people with a name and a personality (unlike Ishwari and Lakshmana in Far Cry 4, for example). I would have loved to have more details about who she was, how they met, and what their time together was like…

Deeply sor to send you this. You can ignore if you want but I just want to say I’m so happy you are enjoying one piece. You just finished one of the best arcs ever.
I’m not really a shipper, for me the best ships are the going merry and one you are about to meet but I’m so happy you have found content and stuff for you’re ships and I’m glad you are writing fics. I look forward for your posts about the arcs(be ready because your zolu ass is gonna be feed in the next arc).
Also, is a part of the one piece experience to cry over a ship. That’s what screams how good of a writer Oda is. Saying “I’m crying over a boat” is basically a must in our journey.
So I’m very happy you experienced episodes 310 to 312 even if I knew you sheds some tears.
So yeah, thanks to be here.
i’m having so much fun watching one piece! i originally only started watching because i watched some as a kid and wanted to see how much i remembered of it … and now i’m 300+ episodes in. it’s been an absolute blast getting to share it with everyone, and other fans i’ve met have been very cool so far! writing fic has been so fun too, and i love getting to expand on that.
as of right now, since i haven’t officially met the thousand sunny yet, i’m very partial to the merry. it might be sentimentality, which i think one piece does very well because there is a lot of emotion behind attachment too, and i think it goes to show how powerful the writing is: the growing attachment is subtle and none of it feels forced, but it’s impactful when you come face to face with the weight of it. like i said in the tags last night, i really do appreciate that the going merry got the send off that she did—a proper funeral for a proper crew mate. she was much more than simply a ship or a means of transportation. she was their home. she was their first ever proper ship and she gave them a home too. she did not go into the dark and lonely seabed alone, and i’m really glad she had her entire crew to see her off. crying over her felt like a rite of passage!
also “your zolu ass” is the FUNNIEST THING LMAO thank you for sending this!

Diabolik Lovers LOST EDEN ー Reiji Dark [Prologue]
Tumblr media
CHAPTER MASTERLIST
ー The scene starts in Yui’s bedroom
Yui: ( ...Ever since Reiji-san succeeded his Father, he’s been seemingly trying harder and harder. )
( But I guess it makes sense. Amongst his brothers, Reiji-san has always been the one to seek out power the most. )
ー A flashback ensues
Reiji: You would be willing...to pass your powers down to me...?
Karlheinz: I thought you wanted them?
Reiji: Yes, of course.
Karlheinz: In that case, they are yours to take.
Reiji: ...
*Rustle*
Yui: ( Seeing him from the side as he kneels down...He appears to be smiling, yet crying at the same time. )
Reiji: Please leave the rest to me.
Karlheinz: Hah. This is my everything.
*Woosh*
Reiji: Kuh...
*Woosh*
Yui: ( ...What is happening...? )
Reiji: ...Father...!
Karlheinz: You shall learn the hard way.
At what price powers come.
This is...your rite of passage...
Yui: ( Rite of passage...? )
Reiji: ...Uu...What do you mean...!?
*Rustle*
Yui: Reiji-san!
Reiji: Kuh...To think I cannot even stand on my legs...
Yui: ( He seems to be in pain. I have to be there for him...! )
ー Yui rushes to his side
Reiji: Ugh...Yui...
Yui: Are you alright?
Reiji: Yes.
Karlheinz: ...
*Woosh*
Reiji: ...He disappeared...?
Yui: ...Are his powers actually...?
Reiji: ...I believe this means they are indeed within my hands.
...I can still barely believe it, but now that they have been passed down to me, I must work even harder than before.
Father...I shall follow in your footsteps with aplomb.
ー The flashback ends
Yui: ( The succession of power...I remember being very much impressed to be able to witness such a solemn occasion. )
( However, those final words he spoke...They seemed very profound. )
( To learn the price of power the hard way, huh? )
( Karlheinz-san possessed powers far beyond anyone’s imagination. They might not be so easy to wield. )
( Still, Reiji-san has been fully devoting himself to his new role ever since, he’s working even harder than he did before. )
( Not only has he been going around various places in the Demon World to solve issues with the other races, he greatly values his own family as well. )
( And of course, me as well...Even though he’s incredibly busy, he still makes time for me as well. )
( He’s so very kind and reliable after all. ...I’m sure he’ll be able to overcome any obstacle. )
( I’m sure he’ll solve the matter at hand in no time as well. It’s scary knowing someone broke into the manor though... )
*Tick・tock・tick・tock*
Yui: ...I guess I’ll go to him.
ー The scene shifts to the living room
Yui: ( He wasn’t in his room. I wonder where he could be...? )
*Flap flap flap*
Yui: ( That’s...Reiji-san’s Familiar. They seem to be in a rush...I wonder if something happened? )
( Ah...! )
Reiji-san!
Reiji: Oh, it’s you. Could you please be quiet for a second?
Yui: M-My bad...
ー The other brothers join the scene
Yui: ( Ah, everyone’s here. )
Reiji: ...Well then, let me hear what you have to say.
*Flap flap flap*
Reiji: ーー I see. ...So that’s what happened.
Ayato: Oi! I couldn’t hear crap! You better explain what happened to us!
Reiji: Uncle...Lord Richter has allegedly passed away.
Yui: Eh?
Reiji: He was murdered at the hands of someone as they found him impaled on the peak of Kaminashi Tower
Ayato: Haha, what a loser, kickin’ the bucket like that!
Kanato: Yes.
Laito: Honestly, what a clown~
Ayato: So, who killed him?
Reiji: Good question. However, I highly suspect that Demon Hunters might play a part in it.
Subaru: Demon hunters?
Reiji: As of late, several areas have reported an increase in the amount of cases involving Demons being attacked.
Ayato: Haah? So who’s the bastard behind this bullshit?
Reiji: An investigation is already ongoing...but they are very good at covering one’s tracks.
Either way, we do not know when they might come after us as well. Therefore, caution is of utmost importance.
Ayato: If that guy waltzed his way up in here, I’m gonna make quick work of him!
Subaru: Agreed.
Kanato: Is that all you have to say on this ridiculous topic? ...I shall be returning to my room now.
Laito: I’ll do the same~
Shuu: ...
ー The other brothers leave
Yui: ...What will you do, Reiji-san?
Reiji: I will head to the crime scene at once. There could be some traces leading to the culprit still left behind.
Yui: Um, can I come with you?
Reiji: Why?
Yui: Well...I honestly can’t believe that Richter-san was killed and...
I’m honestly a little scared now, so I’d like to be together.
( Besides, I’m worried that if I let him go by himself, he’ll push himself beyond his limit... )
Reiji: ...Well, I suppose you may. Well then, follow me.
ー The scene shifts to the outside of Kaminashi Tower
Reiji: Seeing as the Tower itself is once again open to customers...I believe it is fair to assume that the corpse has already been disposed of.
Yui: ( I can’t believe he was killed at such an openly public place... )
Is it possible the culprit could still be close by?
Reiji: ...I would like to take my time to track down the lingering thoughts of the culprit or my uncle.
Yui: Um, is there anything I can help with?
Reiji: No thank you.
Yui: ( Right... )
Reiji: ...Aah, there actually is one thing.
Yui: Eh?
Reiji: Please do not let your thoughts run rampant. They would get in the way of reading the remaining thoughts left in the air.
Yui: ( I see... )
Reiji: Empty your mind and do not let your thoughts wander. If you can not do that, I would prefer you go home.
Yui: I-I’ll try my best!
( Phew...Turn off my brain. )
Reiji: Well then...Where are the clues...?
Yui: ( He said he would track down their thoughts, right? I wonder what that feels like? )
Reiji: ...There is too much noise....it is proving to be quite tricky. The thoughts of other people and animals are interfering with the process...How annoying.
...
Yui: ( It must be really difficult. ...He seems to be struggling. )
( I do think it is very admirable that he is trying to look for hints for everyone’s sake. It shows just how reliable he is but...I’m also worried. )
Um, I don’t think it’s a good idea to overwork yourself right off the bat...
Reiji: ...!
Yui: Reiji-san...! Please don’t put so much pressure on yourself! It’s bad for your health...ーー
Reiji: ...Haah. Did you not hear me when I said to empty your mind earlier? Did you forget already?
Furthermore...I would like you to watch your words.
ー He steps closer
Yui: Kyah?
Reiji: Who exactly...do you think you’re talking to?
Yui: Eh...?
Reiji: I am my Father’s successor. I have the power to rule over this World.
Therefore, you are in no position to tell me what to do.
Yui: ...I’m sorry.
ー Reiji steps back
Reiji: If you got the message, I would like you to head home now. Do you understand?
Yui: Yes...
( I’m worried, but if I remain here, it’ll only have the opposite effect. Let’s go home. )
ー Yui leaves
Reiji: ...Why am I struggling so much...!?
( I cannot use my powers to their full potential due to a lack of control either. ...How frustrating. )
( Is this a sign that my current self is nowhere near ready to fulfill the role of Vampire King? )
Even though I accepted these powers with open arms...So why...!?
Father...!
*SHATTER*
Reiji: ...! Don’t tell me...
*Rustle*
Reiji: ( The Pocket Watch of Demise...The front glass has been shattered to pieces. )
( I am positive it was working up until yesterday...So why did it stop at this exact timing? )
Don’t tell me...Is the end near?
( I cannot sit still. I have to do this. So how come it feels out of my control? )
Kuh...
*Rumble*
Reiji: ...? Tremors? What on earth is going on? ...Nothing makes sense anymore.
...
ー The scene shifts to an alleyway
???: Hah...I came to take a look after I heard he inherited those powers...But he’s a total pushover.
Well, the real fun has yet to begin.
ーー TO BE CONTINUED ーー
Translation notes
(1) The term used here is 思念 or ‘shinen’ which means ‘thought’, which is the same concept used in the Dark Fate prologue when Carla and Shin track down Menae’s ‘lingering thoughts’ to find out more about her possible whereabouts. I believe it is meant to be a paranormal/spiritual concept but I do wish Rejet was a little more clear about who is capable of ‘reading’ lingering thoughts left in the air and who isn’t.

To the Soul-HalsinxTav Companion NPC
Completed Ch1 of my indulgence drow tavxhalsin story. Also on A03 here- https://archiveofourown.org/works/53408218
Finally playing through act3 and decided to finish up the first part of this. Not fully game canon compliant, after all there's so many ways that playthroughs can go so who's to say this isn't just one of them. I am not immune to the desire to make a 'tav' companion npc with a backstory that directly impacted my favorite companion. Wordcount: 4k Rating: M for canon violence and suggestive content in a flashback. Rating will change later. Much spice in the future. Spoilers for Acts 1 and 2, character spoilers for Halsin and Shadowheart. Summary:
“Halsin! Get down here we need you!”
She would never forget that name. Her rite of passage. Her first act of goodness. But what were the odds? It couldn’t be a mere coincidence. The druid was broader than she remembered. But that didn’t surprise her. After all, she had barely been a hundred and he was perhaps fifty years her senior when they had met.
Hazel eyes met her own shadowed purple, and time ceased to move. He looked…stricken. Ah but she shouldn’t have expected anything but. The spark of hurt was ruthlessly smothered. Of course he would be horrified to see her.
After all, she had once held his leash.
Ch1: What is
Damp, crumbling stone dust thick with the scent of rot splattering across her cheek stirred the drow from her trance.
The second tremor that ran through the rough stone floor knocked more clumps of debris from the ceiling onto her skin. As each pinprick of cold slimy grime stuck to her feverish flesh, the sensation was dismissed as quickly as it came. Relegated along with the other unpleasant aches and pains as a surge of adrenaline chased exhaustion from her limbs. Ignored.
Micarbryn focused her attention on the faint sounds that filtered through the floors above the holding cells, gathering her throbbing knee’s and battered hands under her center of gravity so she could push to her feet. The heavy rusted chains that kept her wrists hobbled clanked loudly in the near stillness and the drow froze, waiting for breathless seconds for one of the guards to come sauntering over to see if she had woken.
No one came.
Another tremor shook the structure, and a muffled thudding boom came right on the heels of the vibrations. Whispers erupted from the other holding cells as the walls creaked and groaned, and someone began crying. Cracked lips stretching into a grin, Mica slowly began to flex each limb, testing the hurts she had accumulated to see how well her body would carry her through the coming battle.
Someone had come. An attack on Moonrise had begun. It was only a matter of time before some of the cowards who called themselves Absolutists came down into the captive pens looking for leverage. They would not find it easy to snatch a meat shield.
Boots on the stairs. She had perhaps thirty seconds. Snatching up the wooden handle from a broken pick she had hidden three days earlier under her bed of rags, Mica jammed her improvised wedge into the rusted hinge on her cell door and levered her whole weight into it.
The hinge snapped with a sharp sound that was swallowed up by the rising cries and clashing of metal above them. Biting back her own sound of triumph, the drow wrenched the handle free and aimed for the second hinge. The scrape of metal along the stone floor mingled with the sound of running feet. She had no time to find the guard that kept the keys.
Squirming through the gap that she had made, Mica pushed to her feet with only the slightest of stumbles as her muscles burned. All around her, terrified eyes peered out from the darkness of cells, some reflecting the light others unseeing through the gloom.
She could run. The back passage wasn’t far. Escape was so close she could practically taste it. Her feet moved. Her hands gathered the heavy metal links that had been used to bind her into scraped palms. Voices called to her, pleading to let them out as she strode to the chokepoint just beyond the base of the stairs, and stopped.
The footwork was as easy as breathing. Falling into the ready position of defense, braced for the blow’s to come. She would not go down easily. It was almost a thing of beauty, that first swing of her chains as the unhelmeted head of an Absolutist came around the corner.
A sickening crack, the wet spray of blood. The man fell out of the stairwell like a puppet with its strings cut, crumpling at Mica’s feet. The element of surprise was hers for only a moment longer. Pivoting on her heel to redirect the momentum she had gained, the drow swung a second time at the shocked, red spattered face of the second guard. Impact, a cry of agony, the shock of the transferred force through her bones.
The second guard wasn’t going to go down in one hit. Ducking the frantic stab of the woman’s short sword, Mica threw her chain around the crossguard of the blade and yanked, disarming the half elf. She let the weapon clatter to the stone floor without trying to take it for herself. There was no time. The Absolutist had thrown her arms up to protect her face, so Mica aimed a kick to her gut instead.
The guard went down in a thrashing of limbs. Stamping her heel into a delicate knee joint, the drow bared her teeth at the sensation of breaking bone under her foot and lunged. Blood dripped from her chains, flecking her face. Grabbing the body, the drow hauled her second kill out of the way and planted herself again as the sounds of battle grew more intense above them.
Twelve seconds. That’s all it had taken. The voices behind her had gone silent when she had attacked, the crying prisoner hadn’t been quieted. Footsteps on the stairs. A voice she had grown to know well reached out, caught her attention as the gleam of weapons and armor entered her periphery.
“What are you doing?? You need to run, leave us! You can’t fight by yourself!”
 “No.”
Shock silenced the clamor. Protestations and affirmations.
“They will not hesitate to kill each and every one of you. They will not pass.”
Three of them this time. Mica knew the moment they saw fresh blood. There would be no edge for her now. They saw a lone drow, bloodied and chained blocking their path and thought her easily killed. When the leading guard died under her chain, the remaining two worked together. Dodge, strike. The scrape of a blade along her forearm, through nerves already long dead. Her shoulder impacted the wall as she barely escaped having her skull crushed by a mace.
More footsteps on the stairs.
The fourth guard went down with a scream of rage. A pinch of cold in between her ribs. Ignored. Not now, she would handle it when she had time. Panicked voices behind her. Ignored. They could do nothing locked in their cells.
Pressure on her wrists, the hot slide of her own blood from the ragged edge of the cuffs. Ignored. She had an enemy to kill. Red skin, horns? New Target. No, there was no mark. Not an Absolutist. The spell that sunk into the fifth guard's back and sent them tumbling into death fizzled and sparked against the tieflings fingertips.
“ROLAN!!”
They knew him. That was enough for her. Mica sidestepped to open the way, to where Lia and Cal were sticking their chained arms through the bars of the door in a desperate attempt to reach out to their sibling. There was an odd look on the wizard's face; a pinched sort of paleness to his skin as he stared at her side as he rushed past her. He wasn’t a threat, so she could ignore him for now.
More footsteps. More death. Spells slung from behind her, backup she accepted as the bodies piled. She lost count at eight. An arrow in her thigh she snapped off. Ignored. Whispered words, the creed of her house every time she stumbled, every time her vision blurred.
“You do what you can, then you do more.”
Copper on her tongue, heaviness in her lungs. A roar from above, deep and primal and animalistic. A roar of rage and determination, a roar of fury and vicious satisfaction. A song that called to her frantically beating heart. They were winning. A brief moment of self indulgence in the lull between those now seeking escape instead of the defenseless prisoners. Perhaps it was the group that had returned Lichen to her. Come to trade at her Den.
The strange motley assortment of adventurers with the enhanced but strangely stagnant tadpoles had wriggled their way into her heart within two visits. She hoped that her little phase spider had survived the assault that had led to her capture.
“You do what you can, then you do more.”
Burn of poison in the wound at her shoulder. Ignored. She didn’t have time for it. Nor an antidote. Numbness in her fingertips where they slackened around the bloodied chain. Ignored.
Her impact with the floor as one of the Absolutists managed to shove past her drove the cold pinch between her ribs deeper. Wetness in her throat, rattling slick with a bubbling sensation. Ignored.
From the ground Mica lifted a hand, yanking on the tiefling who had been fighting from behind her with her telekinetic grip to pull him from the range of what would have been a deadly blow.
This one was important. This enemy could not leave. The mark of leadership was on them. Heavy footsteps on the stairs, a curse as someone admonished an ally.
“You're too big in this form, you're blocking the stairs!”
Cool relief trickled through her limbs as her second wind took some of the ache. Forcing herself to her feet, Mica ignored the sound of footsteps on the stairs this time. She knew them. They had come just as they said they would. The other captives would be safe. There was one more enemy to kill.
“You do what you can, then you do more.”
The wizard was capable, but his opponent was desperate. Rolan was bleeding, the terrified voices of his siblings begging, threatening the Absolutist as they struck again and again. She didn’t have much time.
Focusing on the soaked chains in her grip, Mica spat the mouthful of blood that had collected behind her teeth and bellowed a challenge. It was a raw sound, releasing the pent up agony and frustration and bloodlust she had been festering under for decades. The goad worked, the marked one turning to stare as she charged.
She only had one point of energy left. Despite the filth accumulated on the rusty links, the metal still glowed with psi force as she swung, the improvised weapon rebounding off the helmeted head with a ringing tone oddly similar to a gong.
The impact of the heavy weapon was a dull pressure, here one moment and gone the next. She was staring up at the ceiling, breath stuttering in her chest. The cold pinch between her ribs had slipped away, ripped out in the tumble across the blood soaked stones perhaps. How much time had passed? Surely nothing more than a moment.
Tremors of footsteps on the stone floor. Sobbing coming from somewhere close by. Lia. One of the others? She knew the face leaning over her. It was one of the adventurers, the Githyanki.
“Don’t dont dont! She isn’t one of them, she helped us!”
“Silence Teefling, I am not so foolish as to not recognize an ally.”
A hand under her head. Blood bubbled from her lips as she tried to speak. The expression on the fierce warrior's face tightened, and she reached into her pack. Paused.
“Chk! Who has a healing potion to spare?”
Rustling cloth, the faintest tinge of panic in another voice. Tavraith. It made sense that they would have been leading the charge.
“I’m all out.”
“I don’t have any either.”
“Shadowheart do you have a spell left?”
“...No.”
Pounding footsteps. The warlock shouting up the stairs.
Exhaustion pulled at her eyelids. At her limbs. She was so tired, and cold. Something sticky was pooling under her back. But she had done it. They had come. It wouldn’t hurt to rest a little now. She was sure they could forgive her a nap.
- *   -
Lavish. Opulent. Gaudy. If one was unaware of the internal machinations and dirty little financial secrets of the Siltweave house, then the soiree would have seemed an unending showcase of wealth. The illusion had been well crafted. Sipping at her glass of diluted wine, Micabryn let her gaze roam the packed dance floor and pockets of nobles milling about the room.
There was lady Sicxa, her arm wound around her latest male consort and already more than a little drunk. There was her husband, a hand on the other male's ass as he turned attentive eyes to his wife. His gaze was a little glazed, he must have been indulging in his drug of choice before the night started.
They had received an invitation to pad the number of guests. So had she, but that suited her needs. She had no desire to get closer to her hosts or curry their favor. She was here for the entertainment they had been boasting about.
At the head of the ball room, the lady and her husband sat in overly stuffed chairs. They too had been drinking heavily that night, and the slim silver chain that was looped about the arm of her chair had been splashed with wine more than once. It was almost laughably tiny in comparison to the form it kept in check.
Decorative. A good yank would have snapped the metal, but it was symbolic in its own right. They had been plying their toy with alcohol just as liberally as themselves. Drying rivulets of the dark red liquid had dripped down a strong chin, down a furred chest. It was an impressive, curious physique for a surface elf. A rarity. A curiosity.
He played his part well. Leaning up against the side of his mistress's chair with attentive eyes kept at the level of her chest. The wince when sticky, wine soaked fingers carded through his loose hair was hardly more than a twitch. Mica was unsure of exactly how long ago the Lord and Lady had come into the possession of their wild shapeshifting elf, but it was a small miracle he was still in one piece.
Music swelled, the song playing for the guests to dance too flowing into another piece without pause. The rim of a wine glass clumsily pushed against plush lips. The briefest moment of hesitation, eyes flickering down and fingers tightening on broad thighs when the lady of the house idly trailed sharpened nails over his naked shoulder. He drank, preventing more alcohol from spilling over his skin.
They would loose him soon to the guests. To those who had paid for the privilege of a timeslot with their rare and precious pet. Who knew how long they would keep him around after all? Better get your taste while they felt generous.
Fingers tightening over the stem of her wine glass, Mica took a steadying breath as the lady unhooked the silver, delicate chain from her chair. She stood, wobbling the barest amount in her inebriated state. As she stepped down from the slightly raised platform her slave followed. Crawling after her, not daring to rise.
Mica's knees ached in sympathy as the druid followed his mistress across the cold stone floor. Corellon save her but it was hard to not stare at the way the male's body moved. He was alluring, and shame at her own flash of want filled the drow as she flicked her gaze away. Appealing to her own tastes or not there was no need for her to add to the number of people who looked at him only as something to be used.
That wasn't why she was here.
The pair vanished behind a heavy velvet panel into a slightly removed alcove. It had been curtained off to allow the illusion of privacy, but Mica knew that if one stood close enough the sounds from within would be on complete display. A deliberate choice, one that created more of a separation between those who had paid and those who had not. No free shows with such an unusual toy.
She was in the third slot. It was surprisingly difficult to continue to mingle with the few people she could stand who had also been invited to the party, sipping her wine and waiting. Her mother had warned her, but perhaps she should have put more stock into her cautionary words. No one was paying her much attention at least, that was a small mercy.
The other slaves that were paraded out to tend to the crowds were equally as gut wrenching to look at. Too thin, dull eyes, automated movements. How her mother could stand interacting with the worst of their kind Mica did not know. She could not allow her own personal feelings to interfere. That would only end up with a blade in her gut and her family line extinguished.
She could not fail at this.
-   *  -
It had been a long time since she had truly slept. Through habit, Mica’s eyes only slitted open when consciousness returned to her. Her breathing did not change, her body did not shift.
Everything ached, which meant she hadn’t died.
Which meant Halsin had agreed to heal her. The sharp scent of herbs, alcohol and that particular bitter tang of painkillers filled her nose, turned her stomach. The last time she had been so injured…her gear. She needed her gear. Peering through her lashes, Mica took in the sounds and sights of the tent she had been left in. Wounded on other cots, mostly harpers. Near all of them were asleep, some drugged so far up to their eyeballs they could do nothing but stare into space.
The fighting was over then. She didn’t see any tieflings, gnomes or any of the others who had been in the cells with her, small mercy. They must have gotten out mostly unscathed.
A chair next to her cot with a discarded cup. Had someone been sitting next to her while she slept? An odd concept. Surely the party of adventurers had better things to do. Ketheric Thorm to deal with. She was getting ahead of herself. She didn’t know how much time had passed, if they had even managed to kill the bastard yet or not.
Her mouth was dry. Thirst was no new companion, nor hunger. The pinch in her gut told her that it would be unwise to try for much of anything, but something to drink would be nice. The cup on the arm of the wooden chair was the closest. Maybe there would be enough for a mouthful left.
Slowly, silently Mica levered herself up. Her arms shook. Her muscles screamed. But she could move. The cup was cool against her overheated fingers. The same fever from before then, if it felt so nice. Unsurprising considering the likely state of her after that battle. The scent of mint and honey overpowered the medicinal aroma’s all around her as the rim brushed her lips.
The tea had gone cold, but the sweetness was gentle and the liquid welcomed on her scratchy throat. She sipped when she wanted to gulp. There was only so long she had before someone came in to check on the patients. She only had so long to figure out if she was still in danger.
Harpers were difficult at the best of times, let alone when they had a questionably releasable former prisoner in their medical tents. Mica was under no delusion that she would simply be accepted into the midst of the group that had raided Moonrise. They had come to kill Ketheric, not to rescue her or even the others who had been held in the cells. Well, the adventuring party with the tadpoles had likely come for both.
Tavraith was the sort to prioritize that detail.
There was a commotion going on outside the tent. Angry voices, rising in volume steadily. Taking another drink of the honeyed tea, Mica set the cup down and swung her legs over the edge of her cot. She had pushed through worse. It took a moment before she could support her weight, but when she didn’t immediately crumple to the ground it was a win in her book. She would be moving around fine in no time.
The voice shouting sounded…familiar. Pulled forward by her own curiosity, the drow reached the flap of the tent and paused, peering through the slit to see what was going on outside. A small crowd had gathered near what looked like-ah. The prisoner pens.
Head and near shoulders above the rest, the druid stood. He was still blood spattered, so perhaps it hadn’t actually been that long since the battle. It was hard to hear what was being said over the din of the camp, but the angry tone and sharp movements told Mica enough. He was pissed about something.
A flash of white hair, pointed ears, bluish purple skin. A drow. Red eyes. A Lolth drow. Stripped of her armor, standing behind a harper who was arguing with the larger elf she stood tall. Haughty even in capture. Her expression twisted into disinterested scorn. An Absolutist then. One who stood without restraints, being taken away from the holding area for prisoners.
A shiver ran over Mica as the huge druid slashed his hand through the air, his deep timbre cutting through the noise.
“She cannot be allowed to wander freely amongst the camp.”
It was time to go. She might not be a Lolth drow herself, but she wasn’t going to push her luck. She had overstayed her welcome. She was alive, she had been tended to, she had been rescued. That was more than enough.
Carefully moving back through the medical tent, Mica checked the trunk at the foot of the cot she had been resting on and breathed a sigh of relief at its contents. Someone had been kind enough to bring her things. Likely one of her favored little ragtag group. She would find a way to thank them later.
It hurt to get her armor on. It hurt to get her aids in place. But she had dealt with worse. Dressed, her belt bags a familiar weight at her hips; the drow crept back to the flap of the tent to get one more look at Halsin before she left. She couldn’t help it. It was good to see him alive and well. Good to see him amongst friends. One of the group, the little Sharran had appeared and stood next to the elf so he wasn’t alone in the press of harpers. Her hair was white now, her garb a little different. Curious, but she had no time.
The others would be coming soon and she needed to leave. She would not put defending her on the shoulders of those who had already done her a great service. It would be ungrateful of her to drive a wedge within the group by making them choose a side.
It was nearly dark. If she moved carefully, she could be away and to an entrance to the underdark before sunrise. The back of the tent was easy enough to slip through. Standing fully straight and walking like she had every right to be there was second nature despite her aches. Three sets of eyes found her as she moved through the camp, none sought to stop her. None looked at her with anything less than suspicion.
She only needed to make one stop before she could leave. The extra supplies were likely to be guarded, but if she flashed some gold then it wouldn’t matter. She was paying for them after all, and getting out of the harpers camp. She didn’t need much, couldn’t even carry much more than dried rations and an extra water skin.
The commotion behind her erupted. Heart in her throat, its frantic beating filling her ears, Mica began moving the moment coin changed from her hand to the harper. Her purchase vanished into her bag, and she vanished into the night.
Droplets of blood were left in her wake.  TBC- Ch2: What was

Underrated Late Stage Far Cry Moment was in the third Rite of Passage comic when some cartoonist looked at the three seed brothers - two brunettes and one redhead - and went “ah yes. Their mother was totally a blonde.”
