I don’t know much about DnD, but doing some research after @fdevitart‘s redesigns I found out that Vermio would be perfect as an half elf, given his talent his words and his ambitions as diplomat for his baron! I only changed his design a little to make it tidier because I already like it a lot! I put him to Strega Varana’s side because I love her design so much and because these two work together so often it felt weird not to do that XD
So life got horribly in the way of me actually finishing this in time for @fdevitart ‘s Bacchai DTIYS challenge, but hey I figured I should still post it as a tribute to how excited I am to be getting a copy of Bacchai soon!! I decided to take a different approach to the original picture (third image) and I am SO PLEASED with how this turned out! I loved drawing the flowers and the hair!! Swipe for a progress video, and make sure to check out Flavia’s art because she is an INCREDIBLE artist!!! #art #procreate #bacchaicomic #bacchai #dtiys #drawthisinyourstyle #drawthisinyourstylechallenge #dionysis #bacchantes #greekmythology #illustration #drawing #digitalart #fdv #fdevitart #shuient #comic #echoart0203 https://www.instagram.com/p/B-QRh4Ih5M9/?igshid=1q1gd6txv2iid
after over a month of waiting I finally got my hands on this wonderful piece of art that is @fdevitart‘s Bacchai and let me tell you, the wait was totally worth it !
I’m so happy that I got to see an amazing adaptation of one of my favorite plays and honestly, the art-style, the chara-design, the plot and THE ENDING, everything is so beautiful and I’m in love with Dionysus’ design !!
also side-note but I didn’t expected that ending ! I legit thought it would end like in the original play (you know, Pentheus getting killed by the bacchantes and Dionysus banning both Cadmus and his daughters from Thebes) and I thought the finale was so sweet and beautiful, I legit almost cried...
so anyway, Bacchai was such a great surprise and I’m so glad that I finally got to read it, I would gladly suggest that comic if you’re into Greek mythology and/or plays, especially if like me you like Dionysus !
I almost forgot that I received my copy of Bacchai by @fdevitart a few days ago. As the title suggests it's a take on Euripides' play The Bacchai. The art is gorgeous and it's nice to see a Greek myth comic that is not a Hades and Persephone story for a change (I mean, I love Hades and Persephone, but the other gods and myths are interesting too).
@fdevitart magnificent project will take you on a journey into the famous mythological tragedy of Euripides, already in pre-order!
