I have seen some people baffled by the amount of widely accepted fannon in the danny phantom phandom so I present to you:

The list of things you might think is cannon but actually isn't:

The Guys in White being shortened to GIW

AND it standig for Ghost Investigation Ward (I think I also have seen it being referenced as the Ghost Information Ward before)

Valerie being called the Red Huntress

Paulina's last name being Sanchez

Mr. Lancers first name (the most popular phannon names being Edward and William)

Ghost hunger is all phandom

Dark Danny was never named in the show, only in the end credits, and Dan Phantom is pure phannon

Cores are a WAY less developed concept in cannon

Ghost obsessions

Danny's middle name being James

Ghost speak doesn't actually exist in cannon (the ghost gabber is cannon but ghost don't have a language or a way of communicating other than english)

The sheer relief on his face when he unlocks their door and sees her relaxing on the couch with a book and a glass of wine, the apartment all soft lighting and cozy touches. She can see the weight falling off his shoulders as he steps into that warmth and safety, feel the tension leaving his body as he lifts her legs up and onto his lap as he settles beside her

It almost makes up for the feeling of waking up and finding him already gone the next morning

Some HTTYD Book headcanons! (A few full-series spoilers ahead)

Hiccup is ambidextrous (because he learned he was left-handed when he was 10, he can now write with both hands! He favors his left of course but it's good to have a fall back)

The Deadly Shadow is hypoallergenic. I don't really know how it works but it definitely it makes Fishlegs's life a little easier

Hiccup says "oh dear" and "oh my goodness" a lot, so I like to think he also says other old lady phrases like "good gracious" "dearie me" and "as I live and breathe". He also calls his friends "my dear", ala "my dear Fishlegs, my dear Camicazi" and "my dear little Toothless" (I'm especially fond of 'my dear little Toothless')

Since Excellinor is a witch and has the ability to prophesy, Alvin and even Fishlegs also have inherited a mild ability to see into the future, maybe via dreams or a sense of deja vu. Fishlegs doesn't figure it out until he's older, in which he picks up soothsaying as a side hobby and gets really good at it.

Fishlegs and Hiccup make songs together and sing them at parties. Fishlegs is a wonderful singer and can hold a tune very well.

Bog-Burglars are some of the best dancers in the archipelago, having some crazy and impressive moves due to being escape artists with impeccable balance and flexibility.

Camicazi never gets taller than 5"4

The trio get more tattoos as they get older. Camicazi gets colorful designs all over her skin that are inked with special oils from Stormfly that allow the tattoos to change depending on her mood. Fishlegs gets a neat, stylized lobster in honor of his mother, as well as a stylized three-headed dragon. And Hiccup gets three seadragon designs; the Wodensfang tattooed on one arm, Furious on the other, and Toothless over his heart.

An idea from @orangeblob79 is that Fishlegs uses a cane for his limp! I love this headcanon and have since adopted it

Likewise, @mrsnaildood brought up that dragonmark/slavemark ink is a super-permanent ink made by mixing dragon and human blood, and therefore dragons and humans fighting in the war and getting blood on each other would create permanent tattoo-like marks, which is SO fascinating and something I definitely subscribe to.

Hiccup does eventually get married, but it's for strictly political reasons. He has one biological kid and then adopts two more! I just feel like he'd really like kids. I also feel like he'd make a pretty good dad, seeing how well he managed to parent Toothless

Mermaids are in fact real. This one's random but Hiccup canonically wrote a book about mermaids so I vehemently believe they do exist in the httyd universe and that Hiccup met and studied them. I also like to think they're distantly related to dragons!

Toothless cat gecko. He purrs like a motorcycle and gives Hiccup head butts and rubs up against his legs or against his face if he's on Hiccup's shoulder. He also gets the zoomies and does biscuits which is REALLY ANNOYING because his claws are really sharp and shreds everything to ribbons. He also responds to pspsps but would NEVER admit it.

Oof okay, here we go *cracks knuckles*

The way he introduced himself to Simon was very kind and sweet, and the converstation they had (although brief) was very friendly. He complimented his singing and even invited him out to karaoke.

When Simon needed help to go and check on Sara, he helped him and understood his worry.

--

At karaoke he introduced him to his friends and convinced him to sing and hyped him up. (it did seem a bit pushy to me, and the song choice wasn't "appropiate" in my opinion, but it did look like Simon had fun.)

When Simon went to his house, Marcus told him how he feelt. And Simon listened.

--

When Wilhelm and Felice went to the shooting range, he was friendly with both of them.

When Simon didn't answer his texts, he went to his friends (Ayub and Rosh) to ask about him. (For me, this was an "orange" flag, because on the one hand it's nice that he cared about him, but on the other, I don't think someone who is sick would outright stop texting you, and if something was indeed wrong with him, you would hear about it from his friends or Sara, they would let you know. Also, it's no one elses business if Simon didn't answer your texts, he shouldn't have said that to his friends.)

Now, here's where it gets interesting

Simon went to visit him at the stables to talk with him. Simon told him that he isn't ready for anything serious, he told him how he feels in that moment, but Marcus made it about them, how they are both not in a hurry, when that was not what Simon said or meant. He didn't listen.

He then asked if this was about Wilhelm, and how he hasn't watched the video (gold star for being a decent person?), how he isn't like him, that he would never hurt him. That is something you cannot say with certainty.

Again, Simon says that he never said that. How he thinks that he's great and kind and "perfect", but he's just isn't ready. He tells him how he feels, again, just like when Marcus did when Simon went to his house, and Simon listened. But now, Marcus doesn't listen.

Simon is saying that he isn't ready right now.

But Marcus goes on

You don't need role models for a healthy relationship, and you cannot compare an abusive relationship between Simon's parents and what Simon and Wilhelm had. That comment made no sense.

And if that wasn't enough, he then says this

When did Simon ever say or indicate that he's like his dad? You do not bring that sort of thing up unless the other person voices those fears. He was way out of line.

He then forces him into a hug (which reminded me of the hug Micke gave him in Episode 1 in the previous season, where Simon looked extremely uncomfortable), and says how he knows he doesn't want to destroy something this beautiful. Putting words in Simon's mouth. And how they will take it slow, which again, shows how he didn't listen to Simon. Because he just said that he isn't ready right now.

The next day he went to the rowing match to support him, which was sweet.

Moving foward, they are hanging out on a hill outside his car, eating pizza and chatting. Like a date, which again, sweet. Simon then asks him to go to the Masquerade Ball with him, but he says it's not really his thing.

Simon was excited to take him, but he respects his decision (so do I).

It's the night of the Ball and he surprises him and wants to go with him, even disguses himself as a waiter which was a smart move.

--

When approached my Wilhelm at the Ball, he is friendly when talking with him, even saying he is nice later to Simon.

--

Now, the final conversation.

Simon goes to the stables to talk to him, again, and tries to explain. But Marcus is already on the defensive, saying that he isn't enough compared to a prince. But Wilhelm isn't a prince to Simon, he's just Wille. Simon tells him again how he told him he wasn't ready and he didn't listen.

Then, he says that Simon plays the victim.

It just shows how he doesn't know Simon at all, becasue he doesn't play the victim, he is the victim (of the video, the bullying,...) and drama is the last thing Simon wants, he just wants to put eveything that happened behind him, and it most certainly doesn't "turn him on".

It seemed to me that a fucking 16 year old (a minor!) is more mature than an 18 year old, so yeah, Marcus never stood a chance against Wilhelm and he can go suck it.

Akio is undoubtedly the manipulator in the shadows, keeping the cyclical nature of (patriarchal and power) abuse spinning in his self made world of Ohtori. And yet I had the thought that he too is the product of such cyclical abuse. Both Touga and Anthy are the characters directly showcasing the cyclical nature of abuse. Touga is complicit because Akio's system promises him maybe, eventually gaining the absolute power so none could ever have the power to exploit him again. My theor is that Akio kinda did the same. (Probably I will write a longer meta about the thin line between manipulation and agency at Ohtori in the future, although I will leave it at Akio being very conscious of what he does, Touga to a certain degree, too.)

There never was a pure princehood because even at best and pure intentions like Utena, Dios as a child/young teen, Touga in Adolescence, that ideal necessitates someone to be made weak in order for the prince to shine. For the prince itself following the princehood in his idolized (unreal) form will only lead to death. Touga drowned saving Juri, Dios was at the brink of death before Anthy saved him.

What's notable that both boys at their most noble die in the stage of boyhood. The role of the prince will kill them when they're idealistic and naive. Dios especially had his duty put on externally from countless people. The consequences of him failing them would be to endure their collective, unrestrained wrath. Which leads me to speculate that the prince at his idealised stage (the prince in boyhood) can be exploited, is to a degree rendered powerless to the will of those who demand him serving their needs. That's not to say there's either the boyhood prince stage or the corrupted prince stage at his most powerabuse but that all performance of ideals comes to a high cost of oneself. Dios as child might not have had an understanding or perspective how his power selfishly for the very adult things Akio uses it.

If that is the case, Akio in adulthood, like Touga, flipped his role. Realising that the princess' happiness depended on the prince, Akio could exploit the princess to have her be the one to be the prince. As a child Dios was demanded to serve his purpose to exhaustion. As an adult Akio considered how people could exhaust themselves for the prince. Edit: In the end princehood always necessitates the exploitation of all believing in it. Foremost the princess, and also the prince if he tries to perform his role ideally.

Ways to get around Sloan’s death in post-canon fics:

Sloan clones (either he’s always been one or he now has one)

Julian put him in stasis after, managed to repair his brain damage and revived him; Sloan then escaped/was let go

AU: Julian found and deactivated the termination device before Sloan could use it

AU: Sloan’s device was faulty and didn’t activate

AU: another agent was sent instead and met the same fate (Sloan almost went and is salty about it though)

Wildcard: everything in the episode happened exactly the same and no explanation for how/why Sloan isn’t still dead is given

🌊 The moment when they noticed each other's ghost wings & probably comforted each other as Jack was surely not THAT drunk and Rozy was concerned whenever if she's that insane

🌹 The. Reunion. After. The. Armageddon. 🥺

🌊 Just them being happy, having fun, dancing, little acrobatics to impress, always switching who leads.

🌹 Sleepovers on the other's ship! Rozy trying to teach him meaningful Hungarian phrases, Jack stubbornly trying to braid trinkets into her short hair, literally doing each other's makeup and ending up falling asleep in the same bed. Strangely with nothing raunchy happening

🌊 Jack catching words of an another mythical treasure and this time he invites Rozy to join and not just because her swordfighting skills might be needed-

🌹 No concept of personal space, yet she doesn't flinch away reflexively & actually perfectly comfortable with his presence.

🌊 Jack proposing for once they just take a walk in the town without her skewering anyone for one day & chaos ensures along with their wild fun

🌹 Because the stark difference in their walk as Rozy's is similar to a proud soldier's from behind she gets mistaken for a marine soldier and praised for catching a pirate. She has never been more insulted in her life. Jack is laughing hysterically.

🌊 Based on the little reactions and from what she has carefully told him, Jack is aware that she is a victim of horrendous assault and adjusts his pace to hers. If something that crosses the term ‘friends’ happen, he's double checking whenever she's alright with it or not.

🌹 This man is too beautiful. She's drawn to him despite hindered by her traumas, her first gestures are careful, gentle with the wonder of doing all this for the first time in her life.

🌊 Jack both saw her smile the most along with her tears. He never even thought about making light of it, instead offered wordless comfort or distracting her with a silly story

🌹 Rozy probably saved his life on many occasions, from hanging, from the supernatural; which would be interesting if it happened the reverse as well as she's ...not really counting on him to rescue her

🌊 Jack being surprised at her ability to read people, not because he underestimated (he's never the one to make that mistake) but going by what he had seen & how she deals with others (swiftly and fatally). So he didn't suspect how great she is in that regard, only when she carefully prods at his defensive walls as he definitely hid his traumas very well, yet she seems to know exactly what and how to say for him to crumble.

🌹 He probably made out with Ferenc and Jácint at the same time. Rozy was definitely watching until a convenient moment to announce her presence.

🌊 Jack 💯 crashed Rozy's and James' @ashortdropandasuddenstop serene almost date with that highly inappropriate comment. He learned enough Hungarian to understand what she's yelling after him🤣

🌹 After that, the two decides to occasionally torment the poor Admiral at the same time.

🌊 Jack questioning Rozy's taste in men. (Not counting himself of course)

🌹 When she's queen, a visit is incredibly welcomed and to his question “Was this what you fought for?” she will answer with a tight hug; no. This is an another prison, although a much more pleasant one. He is also given amnesty everywhere she rules with the condition of not going near the coronation jewels or the Véghváry family sword. She created a safe haven for him as the movie showed he definitely not comfortable in Shipwreck Cove where he presumably grew up.

🌊 Jack's modern verse clashing with her College one where she lives a triple life as student-cage fighter-poledancer & he's the one to put it together. And probably to find her injured.
