Characters: Ben Wade and Emmy
Media: 3:10 to Yuma (1957)
Played by: Glenn Ford and Felicia Farr
Setting: 1880s, Bisbee
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Ben Wade is a notorious gentleman outlaw, riding into the tiny Arizona town of Bisbee with his gang to hide out after holding up a stagecoach.
Emmy is a lonely barmaid who works at the saloon in Bisbee, having come to the southwest to save her failing health.
When Ben and his gang visit Emmy’s saloon, their mutual attraction seems to come to an unceremonious end when the gang all leaves the saloon. Ben, however, quickly returns to the bar alone to talk with Emmy, having recognized her from her time as a dance-hall girl in a faraway city. The two share a special afternoon in the deserted bar and back room, but the relationship they long to continue will have to wait until Ben returns from his long trip to Yuma prison - if he ever returns.
