Two Became One: Why Does It Hurt?

A/N: This is a very self-indulgent fanfiction I wrote. It contains spoiler about The Last Game movie. You've been warned, I guess. The game progressed until it reached the fourth quarter. Ellie cheered for Seijuro, firmly believing in her faith on him that he can turn the tides to their favor and he will lead the team to win. However, seeing Nash’s true form still made Ellie nervous.

When the score went back to the four-point difference, Ellie felt her heart aching, as if it was being gripped by something and being squeezed tight. She was looking at Seijuro in shock, unbelieving of what her intuition is telling her.

“I was a persona who shouldn’t have existed in the first place. Just being able to play with everyone is an awfully large farewell gift for me. Thank you.”

In that instance, Ellie knew that her Sei-chan had disappeared. She could deduce that it was for the sake of winning, for the sake of getting back at Jobberwock and Nash for mocking the basketball they played. But it still hurts so much that she couldn’t help but cry. Even when Midorima scored a three-pointer resulting to only a point difference in the score between Vorpal Swords and Jobberwock, Ellie couldn’t cheer anymore. She couldn’t be as happy as before, as cheerful as before.

This feeling is as if your loved one was suddenly taken away from you, and all of a sudden you realized they wouldn’t exist in your life anymore, with only your memories as a proof that they had once been with you.

The game ended with Vorpal Swords winning, but Ellie was unable to celebrate. Seijuro saw her crying and he immediately ran to her and scooped her into his arms. The Miracle Captain knew that no words can console Ellie right now. The members also let the two of them be, especially the Miracles. They knew that it must have been agonizing for Ellie to see her Sei-chan disappeared.

“Ellie,” Seijuro cupped Ellie’s face and wiped the tears streaming down her cheeks, “I know you care for and love him equally, and I can see that you are hurting. But he and I are now one and whole. Won’t you be happy for us?” As he asked that, Seijuro bent down and kissed Ellie’s forehead.

Ellie hiccupped as she hugged Seijuro tightly, burying her face in the man’s sturdy chest, not minding how Seijuro was covered in sweat: “Rationally, I know and understand. But it really hurts. I just... love you so much. I love all of you, including him.”

“I know, Ellie. And we, no, I love you so much more.” Seijuro answered as he planted a gentle kiss on Ellie’s lips. A/N: This is a very self-indulgent short fanfic about my reaction on Sei's another persona disappearing in The Last Game movie.

One of the perks of dating Momoi was that she was incredibly affectionate. She’d light up entirely every time you laughed and her eyes would fill with fondness as she watched you smiling; she loved to hold hands, exchange kisses on the cheeks or the point of the nose and snuggle together.

Momoi made you always feel appreciated. You didn’t need her to say it, even if she was very vocal about her love for you because you could see it in the way she beamed.

That’s why you never pressured her into coming out to her team. She was scared of their reaction and you didn’t mind giving her the time she needed; you were also a bit afraid of their judgment too, as the boys were an important piece of Momoi’s life.

“I’m sorry SO-chan! I didn’t know we had extra-practice today!” Momoi whined as she swung your interlaced hands back and forth. It was only the two of you behind the building of the gym and there wasn’t the need to restrain yourselves.

You chuckled and shook your head.

“It’s okay, go and be a good manager,” you replied with a warm smile.

Still, Momoi pouted, unhappy.

“I had promised to walk home with you!”

“We can do it tomorrow,” you reassured it, “I’m not mad.”

Momoi sighed, “You should be. You’re too soft on me!”

You giggled and shrugged, “I like spoiling you.”

This made the girl beam and she jumped in your arms, hugging you tightly. Then she pulled back just enough to look at your face and grinned mischievously.

“I should reward you for being such an amazing girlfriend…” purred, batting her eyelashes. She was near enough to your breaths to mix.

“Momoi this isn’t the right place…”

“Nobody is here, SO-chan!” She chirped, lips brushing together like feathers, “It will be our pretty, little secret.”

You felt your cheeks flaming, but couldn’t look away from her intense pink eyes and didn’t muster to form a reply in time. She leaned and kissed you softly, warm cherry lips moving on yours in a slow and hypnotizing dance. Her hands played with your hair as you grabbed her shirt.

“OH FUCK!”

Momoi froze in your arms and you divided abruptly.

The entire Generation of Miracles had just turned the corner where you were hiding and was now staring at you wide eyes. Momoi slowly retracted and you could see how her small smile faltered and quivered.

“G-guys-I-Sorry-This-”She mumbled as the panic filled her lungs. You didn’t feel any better, looking like a deer struck by the lights of a car.

“I KNEW IT!” Kise was the first one to react, bouncing towards you with a shining smile. He pulled Momoi in a quick hug and grinned at Aomine, “I told you she was in love! I told you!”

Aomine grunted and look away.

“Dai-chan?” Momoi called in a small voice, but Kise answered for him.

“He was annoyed that you didn’t go to his house last weekend, for your usual movie night. I bet, seeing how happy you were recently, you had a date! I was right!” he revealed, proud of himself.

“I wasn’t annoyed!” Aomine growled, pink dusting his cheeks.

“You were, Aomine-kun.” You nearly screamed as a boy appeared in front of you from nowhere. He bowed at you politely.

“Kuroko Tetsuya, nice to meet you.” Yeah, you had guessed.

Flustered, you bowed too.

“SO, the pleasure is mine!” you managed to stutter and all the attention was on you again.

Kise was still hanging on Momoi, but his golden eyes scrutinized you.

“She’s cute.”

“I know!” Momoi thrilled immediately, forgetting all of her preoccupation.

“Don’t be rude, Kise.” Midorima cut in, approaching to introduce himself.

Akashi followed with Murasakibara.

“You’re tiny,” the latter commented, patting your head, “But you suit Momo-chin.”

You blushed and offered a smile.

Akashi was as polite as always.

“I’m Akashi Seijuurou, Captain of the Teikou team. It’s a pleasure to meet Momoi’s girlfriend.” He shook your hand and observed you with a warm light in his eyes, seemingly satisfied by what he was seeing.

Well, nobody seemed worried about you being a girl in the end.

Finally, Aomine joined he grouò. He stared down at you, towering in a way that made you shiver a bit. He looked slightly dangerous, dark aura and scowling face…

Momoi held her breath.

“Are you properly taking care of her?” he asked sharpening his gaze, in a low tone.

“Dai-chan!”

You nodded furiously.

“I-I’m trying my best!”

Aomine relaxed his shoulders and hummed satisfied.

“Then it’s fine. And next Saturday you’re invited too,” he murmured averting his gaze, but at the same time, he ruffled your hair.

Momoi covered her mouth, nearly crying for the happiness before she wrapped her childhood friend in a hug.

“Thank you Dai-chan!” He rolled his eyes but patted her back.

“Can I come too?” Kise joined the conversation bouncing around Aomine.

“Hell no!”

“Aominecchiiii!”

“Kise don’t be loud.”

“Kise-chin, Mine-chin doesn’t like you.”

“That’s hurt Murasakibaracchi! And it’s not true!”

“Stop being a puppy, Kise!”

“Could you please quiet down a bit, you’re scaring our guest,” Akashi tried to tame them, but they were already bantering.

Kuroko gently tapped your shoulder and offered a faint smile.

“I’m sorry, they’re childish and noisy, but I’m afraid you’ll have to bear it from now on.”

You smiled fondly, looking at Momoi as she laughed cheerfully with her friends, “It’s okay, I look forward it.”

Pairing: Aomine x fem!Kagami Rated: Teen Summary: On a joint summer training between Seirin and Touo (which the other KiseDai decided to tag-along) Daiki discovers a new thing about his rival turned girlfriend. (Or in which I desperately want to have a tattoed fem!Kagami. With all the tattoo au that I read, I just got a thing for tattoo) ---- "Why your Kiseki friends also here? Isn't the joint summer training betweet Seirin and Touo?" Taiga had asked to Daiki as they streched their bodies and looking at the other Kiseki no Sedai. "Like hell I know. Probably because Akashi knows from Satsuki." Daiki scoffed softly as he feels Taiga push her hand to his back. "Probably because they all know from Satsuki-chan and Kise decided to tag-along and Akashi couldn't resist some summer training with Tetsuna-chan and the rest decided to tag-along also." "Well, Akashi and Tetsu had a hard time meeting each other. I guess it's fine for them to join." He changes his position when Taiga told him to. "Besides, your coach seems okay with extras." "That's because Akashi helps our budget and pay for themselves. And coach thought the training's gonna be interesting with them around." It was Taiga's turn to stretch and Daiki couldn't help but think in awe that Taiga is very lithe seeing that she's already kissing her knees. "Tetsu looks really happy." Taiga looks at the couple that also stretching not too far away from them. Tetsuna really looked happy, as much as her stoic face telling. But her eyes are full of live and bright. Akashi himself was smiling prequently. Even though Taiga could tell his smiles are for Tetsuna only, everyone could see his smile. "That's no doubt. Tetsuna told me that Akashi's been busy and it made them had limited time contacting each other. I'm glad they gotta spend time this summer." She then smiles so genuinely and Daiki resisted himself to blush because what the hell, his girlfriend is so cute. Riko signaled for then to head to the gym and then their trainings began. ---- After three days of gruelling training (Riko, Touo's coach, and Akashi deciding their training regime which is pure hell) they have been given a full day of relaxation in the beach. The girls, the only girls, Taiga, Tetsuna, Satsuki, and Riko immediately locked themselve in the girl's bathroom to change their clothes. They change for ages seriously. When all the guy have already changed, the girls' were still locked up in the bathroom. And they change noisily. "Tet-chan that's so cute! That's why I told you to bring the white one!" "The red one is pretty too, Satsuki-chan. I quite like it." "I still think red is too bold for you, Tet-chan." "It's not bright red. It was marroon. Like Taiga-chan's hair." "If Taiga-chan that wearing it, it would suit her very much." "Well, I am wearing the marroon ones. Thanks anyway." "It looks very much like our jersey, Kagami." Riko mused. "It's a cool color scheme. It takes a long time to find this color." "Taiga-chan, are you done changing? Do you need any help?" "I got it. Thanks, Tetsuna-chan." There'a sound of door opening and then Taiga says again, "Where's my shirt? Can you get it to me?" "Here," Riko says. "Why do you need it anyway? We're going straight to the beach anyway--oh," Riko strangely paused and then there's shuffling and then it was Momoi that exclaimed quite loudly. "Whoa, Taiga-chan, you have a ta--" "Shut it, Satsuki-chan! I-it was a bet okay?" "Everyone going to see it, Taiga-chan." Tetsuna's calm voice filled with amusement. "I-I know it! J-just let me cover it for a while. Is it illegal in Japan?" What the hell. What is illegal? What are they talking about?! "As long it's covered when we're in school, it's fine." Riko said, voice light. "Come on, we have to get out now." "Okay..." True to her words, they did getting out of the bathroom, with Satsuki being the first one to walk out. She was wearing a cream cardigan over her mint green swim suit. Daiki know the reason. Seirin's coach was stalking off confidently with a boy short as her bikini bottom although there's nothing of her to brag about. She's at least a B-cup. Tetsuna walking out with no shirt covering her (probably Satsuki's doing),only clad in her white swimsuit and hair in a messy braids (he guessed it was Satsuki's and Taiga's doing). Tetsu has a good body, he approves that. She's a C. That's probably why Akashi immediately pull Tetsuna into his arms and throw glares to any guy nearby. He takes off his shirt and told the girl to wear it. But Daiki had no time for it. It's just in time for Taiga to cone out. With their conversation earlier, he had guessed that Taiga is wearing a shirt. That's great because he didn't want any of this wolves landing their eyes on his girlfriend's body. Taiga was wearing an unknown swimsuit under her dark blue shirt. Her hair is in a messy braids like Tetsu's. But still, her long legs are visible for all the world to see. Daiki could see from the corner of his eyes the damn Wakamatsu looking intently at Taiga's long legs. Damn. "Taiga," He hastily took her hand and pull her towards him, walking her to the beach while keeping the stares off her. "W-what is it?" Taiga stammered with a blush adorning her cheeks. "They're staring at you." "But I'm wearing a shirt." "They staring at your legs and they can see the outline of your boobs." He said irritatingly as he remembered the stared pointed to Taiga. This were the time where Daiki won't be his usual perverted self. It was their freaking first time together in a beach. There's no way he would waste it. Just when Taiga turned around to face her back to Daiki, Daiki noticed a small part on her right shoulder has black spots. It was tattoo. A freaking tattoo! This was what they were talking about in the bathroom? "You got a tattoo?" Taiga's body visibly stiffened before she turned to him. "Y-yeah. Is it illegal in Japan?" Her voice wavered at the end. "No, I guess not. It's just," The fact that Taiga has a tattoo was really awesome. Her tattoo was simple, a plant, some kind of leaves. It adorned her shoulder perfectly. The black color blends well with her sunkissed skin. "It's really cool you know," Daiki trails his fingers to the lines of the tattoo. "It's beautiful." "You said it was beautiful?" She sounded disbelieve. "Yeah," Daiki answers truthfully. "What is this?" Taiga paused for a moment before answering, "It's a laurel plant." "Laurel? There's a plant with that name, huh." Daiki mused. "How did you get it?" By now, Taiga has relaxed to Daiki's fingers that continued to trails over the tattoo. "I actually got it over a bet with my teacher, Alex, because I couldn't copy some basketball moves that she did a year and a half ago, when I was still in America. "Alex told me to choose a tattoo on my own, but she said I have to do my bet. So I scrolled in the internet for a good tattoo but a small one. The one that mostly appears was the plants or flowers. I saw this person has a laurel tatto. She said that it means accomplishment. "My first time getting a tattoo was sort of an accomplishment for me, so I choose it. I was happy with the result." Taiga smiled at the memory. "I have my worry when I was in Japan. I thought that I'll get in trouble if the teachers found out." She smiled weakly at him. "Guess you have to be careful covering it up." "Yeah." They observed their friends (surprisingly there's also Akashi in there) playing water war or something. "I want a tattoo too." Daiki says, voice serious. "Really?" Taiga asks, voice happy, eyes bright. "Yeah, really." "I'll help you choose it then." ---- Soooo, it's a lame attempt, I know. Turns out not good but whatever. Indeed, itsa me! I'm glad you're enjoying it so far, that story is very close to my heart and I am itching to continue once I get my inspiration back. I'm glad you enjoyed the out-of plot chapters as well.
