List of female role models I had growing.
This list isn't in order at all.
1. Serena, Sailor Moon
2. Rebecca Buckler, Tank Girl
3. Gina Waters-Payne, Martin
4. Morgan Adams, Cutthroat Island
5. Leeloo 5th Element
6. Special Agent Dana Scully, X-Files
7. Xena, Xena: Warrior Princess
8. Ellen Ripley, Alien
9. Sally Owens, Practical Magic
10. Cher, Clueless
I love all these women and they really did help shape who I am today. My mother never really liked me and talking about her is some trauma bs I'm not going to talk about at the moment but these characters from movies, TV, and comics really connected with me and showed me that women can be weird, strong, loving, so smart, and absolutely bad ass.

Imagine Danny describing Jazz to Dick, and our dear Richard thinking "Omg, we are a match made in heaven!" Only for Jazz to immediately ask him "Was your mom a ginger?" upon meeting him because "Then why is "ginger" your type? Did you have a strong female role model that was a ginger when you were a child? Perhaps someone else in your family?"
Sorry, Richard, but Freud is always right

I think we often underappreciate the fact that The 100 gave us Raven - a strong female character who also happens to be a mechanic, a genius, a Latina AND last but not least happens to be disabled!
I mean, what are the odds? No really, what are the odds?
She is brilliant in her profession, does not take shit from anyone - especially not from other men, and genuinely loves what she is doing. She's proof that women can be anything, and more importantly, that a disability doesn't always have to define what you can or cannot do. But at the same time we do see her struggling, but we also see her (and others) accommodating her disability, while also not glossing over how it affects her sometimes, especially mentally/emotionally.
I really feel like this character was ahead of its time in terms of representation, and I am appreciating this even more now, because any combination of these characteristics/traits is still hard to find these days, so thanks to The 100 for giving us the one and only Raven Reyes all those years ago!
