As a tifosi, this race weekend is definitely a forgettable one.

But, I have more important things to look forward to:

FIRST UP, there's Danny who will be doing his tyre test on the Red Bull RB19....

Then there's Mick who will be at the Festival of Speed in Goodwood to drive the Mercedes W02...

And there's Seb who will also be at the Festival of Speed to drive multiple cars, including the Williams FW14B and McLaren MP4/8.

Mathieu Baumel y su experiencia pilotando la Toyota Hilux T1+ en Goodwood: “Nasser me deja conducir y espera que sea un buen piloto, ¡aunque no diría que soy mejor que él!”

El navegante campeón del Dakar 2022, Mathieu Baumel, vivió una experiencia única al probar en velocidad la Toyota GR DKR Hilux T1+ en la Subida de Goodwood durante el tradicional Festival de la Velocidad de Goodwood en Reino Unido. Usualmente en la butaca derecha, Baumel tuvo la oportunidad de pilotar los primeros dos días de Festival ya que Nasser Al-Attiyah tenía compromisos previos y recién se integrará al show durante el sábado y domingo. Un evento único con gran cantidad de público para un auto único en el mundo.

“Es genial, es mi primera vez aquí en Goodwood, así que todavía estoy descubriendo todo y abriéndome camino, ya que hay mucho que ver. Es genial ver a tantos fanáticos, algo así como 200,000 durante todo el fin de semana, lo cual es simplemente increíble. Tenemos la oportunidad de correr las tres etapas aquí: Hillclimb, Rally Stage y Off-Road Arena. Lo bueno de este GR DKR Hilux T1+ es que podemos abordar fácilmente todas estas áreas y también divertirnos y hacer un buen espectáculo para los espectadores” describió Mathieu Baumel en Toyota UK Magazine, entusiasmado por su debut en la Subida de Goodwood.

Si bien Nasser Al-Attiyah tiene la mayor parte de las tareas de conducción en la exitosa dupla que ya ha conseguido tres Dakar juntos (Nasser consiguió su primer Dakar con Timo Gottschalk en Volkswagen), Mathieu no es ajeno a la conducción de los prototipos de Toyota en el Rally Raid: “Para ser un buen copiloto necesitas saber cómo hacer un poco de todo y eso incluye conducir, así que estuve más que feliz de llevar el Hilux al circuito de Hillclimb de Goodwood. Tengo mucha suerte de sentarme junto a Nasser porque me deja conducir y espera que sea un buen piloto, ¡aunque no diría que soy mejor que él! Estar en Goodwood me ha dado la oportunidad de saltar del lado derecho al lado izquierdo, lo cual fue increíble y muy divertido. Obviamente, he pasado mucho tiempo en este vehículo durante el Dakar, pero no demasiado detrás del volante, así que le he dado al Hilux un poco de calentamiento para Nasser antes de que corra con él el fin de semana” describió el francés.

El Festival de la Velocidad de Goodwood continúa este fin de semana, con más pasadas programadas por parte de Nasser Al-Attiyah y Mathieu Baumel en el Toyota GR DKR Hilux T1+ campeón del Dakar 2022.
