Achilles’ Sundae
Tumblr media
I finished reading The Song of Achilles on Sunday. I enjoyed it a lot, the writing is compelling, the story both captivating and relatable, and I’ve always been keen on Greek Mythology. What made it even more delectable was eating hummus or tabbouleh whilst reading, but perhaps my favorite treat was this Achilles’ Sundae. I feel this is something Patroclus, who appreciated the scents of pomagranate oil and roses, could have made for his beloved!
Ingredients (serves 1):
2 generous scoops Rosemary Olive Oil Ice Cream
1 1/2 tablespoons freshly released pomegranate seeds
1 tablespoon Rose Syrup
Spoon Rosemary Olive Oil Ice Cream into serving cup. Sprinkle generously with pomegranate seeds and drizzle with Rose Syrup.
Enjoy Achilles’ Sundae immediately.

“When I run over the frightful catalogue of my sins, I cannot believe that I am the same creature whose thoughts were once filled with sublime and transcendent visions of the beauty and the majesty of goodness. But it is even so; the fallen angel becomes a malignant devil. Yet even that enemy of God and man had friends and associates in his desolation; I am alone.”
