I am not a fan of sentiments like "USAmerican cultural influence taints our own culture" for obvious reasons, but it just dawned on me that producing any cultural product in USA is inherently more profitable than anywhere else.

Like obviously everyone everywhere can get rich or go broke, but, for example, publishing a successful fiction book in USA means that it will inevitably be translated into a lot of foreign languages and the profit from worldwide sales will go to the publishers in the USA. But it's not really a thing anywhere else (okay, East Asian countries have their niches, but niches). Nonfiction is somewhat more egalitarian IMHO, but still publishing your thing in the USA is still a massive advantage.

And this goes for like everything, Hollywood is a monster but even lower budget movies and TV series have chance of going global, music is not so inescapably American but still very American, USAmerican TTRPGs have worldwide communities and get translated, even USAmerican YouTubers get fan translations in other languages.

Like I obviously think that it's good that global cultural exchange happens and it's not even like I hate yankee culture specifically, but it's very fucked that like being a yankee creator on its own allows you to reach levels of success basically closed to everyone else
