land of honey
here is an ode to all those south of the mason-dixon line, on either side of the grand mississippi
i like the taste of wild honeysuckle, smell of maturing magnolias. there's warm spring days, with rolling thunderstorms at night, sidewalks still wet the next morning
there's ladies with big hair, bigger weddings, inviting hald the town to watch you say "i love you i do I'll always love you"
neighbors gossip, hushed whispers and giggles, i like small talk with people in line at the grocery store, asking if they like that brand of bug spray
a cacophany of cicadas at night, whippoorwills and chick-a-dee-dee-dees, lullabies of croaking bullfrogs
i like faded churches on the side of single lane roads, you know they used to be just one big dusty room and i guess they always will be
i like red crosses and soup kitchens, storm shelters and booster drives
thanks for the casserole when my aunt died
i like peach cobbler, chess pie, country fried steak, loads of butter and eggs and flour and sugar
tea so sweet your mouth puckers, boiled peanuts sold from the side of the road, only $1.50 and you get free directions to the waterfall
i even like the people who hunt, i do. especially the ones who use all of the animal, who thank the deer for passing quickly and for gifting them a glorious dinner
the people who give antlers to their dogs
i like old women with hair so white its blue, with a smoker's rasp, with metallic lipstick and starched blouses, patent leather shoes and big red pocketbooks
i like driving through marshes and fields, cow pastures and blue ridge mountains, creeks falling to forests growing to gardens
i like square dancing, and slow dancing even more, and the little dark raves tucked in corners of empty downtowns filled with everyone like you
i like bluegrass and blues, jazz on corners in the french quarter, zydeco in acadiana, yes even country, i like singing country on the porch
i like slow guitar and crooning melodies of heartbreak and first love, of missing mom and hating dad
i like old faded trucks, the ones low to the ground without big engines, i like train tracks overrun with weeds
i like mardi gras, flashing beads thrown in smoky air, feathered up floats, stereos turned loud
i like the hundreds of peachtree streets and dozens of martin luther king jr. boulevards
there's buford highway, where you can eat food from every corner of the globe and still be right at home
pass by billboards in korean, spanish, english, all in three square miles
i like drag queens in sunday best, the same florals my grandmother likes
i like straw hats and creased-up boots, i like paper fans exchanged from hand to hand
i like hearing "yall stay safe now" i like how everyone is honey and baby and sweetheart, even if you've never met
i love you trailer park beauties
stay true, hillbilly rednecks

Now, Coach Darnell just wanted a fun little hiking trip for the school. Give the kids some exercise, let the parents be involved. It's free, they get to be in nature, and it's a perfectly lovely laid-back afternoon. Unfortunately for him, the entire Close-Foster-Freeman-Swift-Stephen-Stampler-Marlowe-Swallows-Oak-Garcia-Wilson-Actually-Likely-dear-god-how-many-last-names-do-these-people-have family decided to chaperone.
Henry: We should go to [fairly far away trail] it's a prefect one for the kids
Carol: How are we going to get there though? The school doesn't have enough minibuses
Darryl: Well, Odessey-san could probably fit about a class and some parents and teachers
Mercedes: And the journey is less than an hour so we can use our no-emission fuel source
Glenn: Guess that means I'm riding with you guys, huh
Darnell, who only knows the Odessey as Darryl's rundown car the kiddads got kidnapped in that one time: Hold on, are you seriously suggesting that we try and fit 30+ people into a 30-something year old minivan that runs on a weird fuel source that you never name and has to be changed every hour, that for some reason only Glenn use?
TJ, completely missing the multiple problems: ... she's bigger on the inside
TJ: She can fit a class
Sparrow will not stop picking up squirrels. No one knows how he's even able to get that close to them or why they don't freak out when he picks them up (the answer is druid powers). There's a picture of him holding twenty and surrounded by more on the school's socials.
Grant: This hike will be a great opportunity to spend time with Lincoln's new friends and see what they're like
*Sees Link with a terrifying goth girl who acts just like Terry Jr as a teen (including hating her new stepdad), a weeb who has the exact same vocal mannerisms as Glenn and cool guy energy as Nicky, and clearly Normal Oak*
Grant: You know what, never mind, maybe we should go back to homeschooling him
(Grant: *he's just like me fr meme /negative*)
Darnell: I don't want a repeat of soccer camp '22, Terry Jr
TJ: I did absolutely nothing wrong
Darnell: You stuck Lark on top of the flat mast saying, and I quote, "Naughty children go on the pole"
TJ: And it got him to stop setting fire to the goal posts, didn't it?
Every single one of the s1 parents made homemade snacks. Every. Single. One.
Henry, ranting about nature and rocks: and you know the chasm we're walking by is actually made by a waterfall slowly eroding its own overhang and slowly moving backwards along the valley
Darryl: Henry, we do this trail once a month and you mention this every single time. I did take high school geography. I know how oxbow lakes are formed
Glenn in the background: the chasm we're walking by is also where I fucked your mom WOO
Samantha: I'm pretty sure Autumn was more likely to make love here with Ronnie than you, Glenn
Glenn: Damn, Sam, still bringing out the decade-old burns
At one point, Nicky hurts his ankle (plus his asthma is acting up) so Terry just starts giving him a piggy back unprompted.
Lark: Hey Teej, can you carry me as well for a bit
TJ: no <3
Nicky absolutely did not need to be carried the entire rest of the trail, but what was he supposed to do? Tell Terry to put him down? Obviously not an option
(Terry also could easily have carried Lark too, he was just being petty. He also knew he could have stopped carrying Nicky after like, 10 minutes, but hey, Nicky wasn’t complaining, and maybe he liked being able to be this close to him again, sue him)
They go to a milkshake diner place after the hike (which has vegan options to appease the Swallows-Oak-Garcias). Glenn and Morgan get those couples straws and you know this meme?
Tumblr media
They both do the thing in the bottom picture, but they share the glasses that they put the bottom end of the straws into so it still ends up looking like the top picture. Alternatively, they only share one glass, and the other straw is in an individual glass. Which of course means they get into a whole Freddie-esque tangent/rant about why the middle glass needs to be twice as big because it's being consumed at double the rate of the other two
Jodie is not jealous at all as he watches this. Nope. Nuh-uh.
Scam and Mark somehow snuck onto the trip. No one knows how. Terry spends the entire diner celebration shooting the paper coverings that come with straws at takeout places at Mark because he still hasn't forgiven her for upsetting Ron
Poor Darnell just has to keep dealing with this weird-ass blend of 4, maybe 5, different families that just keep on happening. Unfortunate downsides of being Carol’s best friend

Note
There’s a club where all the father/son pairings go to show off how pretty their boys are.
Carlos snr so proudly shows off his pretty alpha son with his big useless cock. Carlos is so happy to sink down on his daddy’s cock. But he gets very upset when people ask his daddy if Carlos can fuck one of their omegas! Carlos doesn’t like that at all, he just wants to be a pretty cocksleeve for daddy. But daddy gives him a big plug to make up for it and he gets fucked afterwards so it’s okay.
Lance is free use and loves it, he warms his daddy in his mouth while his holes get used. He gets so much praise for taking so many cocks! He’s so sloppy and it feels so good! His daddy will even let him sink down on an empty bottle so he can show off how good he can be!
Nico is such a daddy’s girl and throws tantrums when anyone else wants to use him. But he loves hearing how pretty he is! He always has the prettiest clothes on and his daddy is so proud of his pink pussy. He only lets someone fuck him if his daddy is in his ass too.
The others don’t really understand Max. Max always cries and makes a scene, he’s so ungrateful. No wonder Jos always spanks Max, he’s never a good girl! They always want to tell Max off for screaming instead of moaning when someone fucks him. He’s not very good and they try to teach him but he just cries even more. They tell on Max when he’s being bad, but they’re just trying to help. Max never sits at his daddy’s feet warming him or asking to be fucked. They giggle sometimes when Max can’t take someone and his pussy starts bleeding. He’s such a bad girl!
They hate it when their daddies pay attention to Max. Their daddies sometimes try to get Max out of being punished and it upsets them so much! Max deserves to get his pussy spanked for being bad. Nico throws a tantrum when Keke makes an offer to keep Max for a few nights. He won’t calm down until Keke leaves it. Carlos snr has Carlos fuck Max once and Carlos hated it. Max wasn’t telling him how pretty he is and how good it feels. He only cried and it made Carlos feel bad. He hates Max! Lawrence tries to buy Max once and Jos takes it seriously. Lance is so distraught and can’t believe what his daddy is doing.
They don’t understand why their daddies are so nice to such a bad girl. He shouldn’t get any of their attention.
Oh yes! The dads meeting with their pretty toy sons just to show off and share!
Carlos Jr loves his daddy so much, he is more than happy to bounce on daddy's cock or even on a dildo to show off how well he takes it snd how his useless cock bounces! But he doesn't want to fuck Omegas, only when daddy promises to fuck him nice and deep after again!
Lance is such a good girl too, doing whatever daddy wants. So if daddy has him warm with his pretty mouth while thr other use his ass and pussy, that is fine!! His holes get so sloppy he can even take two cocks in one hole! And daddy has him bounce on a bottle to show what his holes can take and how Lance squirts like waterfall being stretched so much.
Nico loves his daddy so much and the little princess loves to be praised! Keke cooing about how pretty Nico's pussy is, so pink and perfect snd all for daddy! He doesn't want any other cock in his holes, but will begrudgingly let it happen. Keke praises him a lot for it and loves showing him off!
And oh Max! Max hates being a part of this, hates it when jos fucks him and hates it even more when the others get involved too. He cries a lot and the others are annoyed by it, Max should be good for Jos! It's even worse when the other daddies get involved. Keke tries to calm max does, to dry his tears and tries to push some lubr into Max but Max panics and kicks him. And Nico beibg sugh a brat when he hears Keke wanted to take Max in a few days! Snr wants Jr to fuck Max but Carlos hates it! MX cries when he fucks him and doesn't tell Carlos he is a good boy! And Lawrence wanting to buy Max... Lance refuses to let daddy fuck him for days!
Maybe they end up arranging for Toto to buy Max? And sure he is strict with Max, but better, actually makes a good boy out of him! They mostly did it because they didn't like Jos fucking their own sons and they dont have to invite him anymore tho

How to Experience the Lasting Legacy of Harriet Tubman
Pressing my hands against the bricks of the home Harriet Tubman built, I closed my eyes and listened to the wind rustling between the leaves of the trees surrounding this place where she lived and worked as a free woman, awaiting a message from the Underground Railroad conductor and Union spy.
Little did I know when I visited Auburn, New York, last year that I was following a ritual that 130 of Tubman’s descendants did a month before when they made their own pilgrimage to 180 South Street from the likes of Florida, Texas, Washington state, and as far north as Canada to commemorate the bicentennial of Tubman’s birth.
Michele Jones Galvin, Tubman’s great-great-grandniece and co-author of Beyond the Underground: Aunt Harriet, Moses of Her People, attended the reunion from Syracuse, New York. She believes Tubman’s message reverberating throughout the generations has always been clear. “It was that we were to take care of one another and our neighbors to the best of our ability,” Jones Galvin says. “That, to me, was who Aunt Harriet was. She took care of her family to the best of her ability. She took care of her neighbors to the extent that she could.”
Jones Galvin describes her historic auntie as an “ordinary woman who did extraordinary things.” A woman who was friendly but introverted, empathetic, and compassionate. Not flamboyant. Never an attention-seeker. In Auburn, recognition of Tubman has been incrementally ramping up since the 1990s as citizen-led efforts from locals and transplants alike began making connections to and garnering an understanding of her significant involvement in the city.

“I felt when I came here that she was an overlooked individual,” acknowledges Bill Berry Jr., the immediate past chair of the Harriet Tubman Center for Justice & Peace. “There wasn’t any significant involvement by citizens here in Auburn to recognize someone who, by then, had come to international prominence. Here’s somebody whose life was exemplary [and] can show people what it really means to be courageous [and] have a sense of perseverance grounded in equity, social justice, and freedom.”
I arrived in Auburn during a two-day road trip with my best friend, Rochell. We were in Chittenango Falls State Park chasing waterfalls when we realized we were an hour away from Tubman’s chosen free home and decided to take a detour, arriving just in time to catch the last afternoon tour given by the National Park Service, which oversees the Harriet Tubman National Historic Park.
Tumblr media
Auburn, New York, began significantly recognizing Harriet Tubman in the 1990s. The 32-acre Harriet Tubman National Historical Park opened there in 2017.Epics//Getty Images
The 32-acre property is covered with trees and divided by a long gravel driveway. To the right is the modest two-story brick home where Tubman lived and worked as a businesswoman and midwife with her second husband, Nelson Davis, and other family members. On the opposite side lies the Harriet Tubman Home for the Aged (formerly known as the John Brown Home for the Aged and Indigent Colored People), which Tubman built for her parents and the infirmed. The drive ends at the Harriet Tubman Visitor’s Center. We happened to be there in time to see the evocative 9-foot traveling sculpture Harriet Tubman — The Journey to Freedom, which was unveiled last spring in the north apron of Philadelphia’s City Hall.
“The best place to experience Harriet Tubman is in Auburn, New York,” community leader Rhoda Overstreet-Wilson attests. “There’s a physicalness that is here. You can touch the banisters that she touched. You can walk the streets where she walked. To channel her essence, it can be done in no other way than in Auburn.”
Built in 1891, the Thompson Memorial African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, where Tubman worshipped, is also part of the national park site in Auburn. (The Harriet Tubman Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church, located on 90 Franklin Street in Auburn, eventually replaced the old Thompson church and parsonage. It was named in honor of Tubman.) Currently, Thompson Memorial is being overhauled by the National Park Service and is expected to be available for tours later this summer or early fall.

Renovations on the Tubman residence are also planned and will proceed once the legal frameworks for grant funding and development between the A.M.E. Zion Church — to which the property was bequeathed — and the National Park Service are completed. Proceeds from the forthcoming Harriet Tubman commemorative coins ($5 gold coins, $1 silver coins, half-dollar copper-nickel coins) will be split between Tubman’s historic home in Auburn and the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati. Jones Galvin says Tubman being added to the $20 bill, announced in 2016 by the Treasury Department, is at least seven years from actuality.
Without being able to enter her home or the church building, I was still moved to be on this sacred ground: laying hands on the bricks she manufactured and used to build her home; imagining myself greeting her at the steps to bring a gingerbread cake (which I learned she loved); or singing next to her in the pew where she worshiped (and wondering if she was an alto). Like others, I left mementos — citrine and tiger’s eye crystals I had with me — at her gravesite in reverence and appreciation.

“In discussing Harriet Tubman and what she was able to accomplish, there is also that overlying spirituality that she lived and breathed, and that’s definitely pulled through to today,” says Ahna Wilson, superintendent of the Women’s Rights National Historic Park and Harriet Tubman National Historic Park.
There are highlights of Tubman’s work in the suffragette movement at the Equal Rights Heritage Center. Next door at the Seward House, visitors can learn of her life and work with Secretary of State William H. Seward and his family.
Tubman’s legacy will be incorporated into Auburn’s free Black History Walk on February 18. For Harriet Tubman Day on March 10 — the day she died in 1913 — the city plans to commemorate the anniversary with several events. This year, there will be a talk from Clarence Lusane, the author of Twenty Dollars and Change: Harriet Tubman and the Ongoing Fight for Racial Justice and Democracy. Tubman’s legacy will also be part of events during Women’s History Month in March and a Juneteenth celebration scheduled for June 17.

While Auburn is a focal point for experiencing Tubman’s life as a groundbreaking free woman, her legacy can be felt throughout North America. As she famously said, “If you want a taste of freedom, keep going.” Here are other sites to experience the impact of Tubman.
Atlanta: In February, the West Atlanta Watershed Alliance is sponsoring events in which attendees can connect with Tubman through interpretive hikes as well as a discussion with author Tricia Hersey, founder of the Nap Ministry.
Cambridge, Maryland: Tubman was born in the early 1800s in Dorchester County, which is now home to the Harriet Tubman Museum and Educational Center. At the Bucktown General Store, visitors can experience Tubman’s first act of defiance.
Church Creek, Maryland: The Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad State Park and Visitor Center is a prime location for exploring the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Byway, a self-guided driving tour that includes 36 sites related to Tubman and the Underground Railroad. Tubman is the only woman and African American with two national parks named in their honor.
Cincinnati, Ohio: The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, which opened in 2004, includes the permanent interactive exhibit “Escape! Freedom Seekers and the Underground Railroad,” which features Tubman.
Newark, New Jersey: A new monument honoring Tubman designed by Nina Cooke John titled Shadow of a Face is scheduled to be unveiled March 9 in the city's recently renamed Tubman Square.
Niagara Falls, Canada: Hop aboard Motherland Connextions' bus tour to see freedom crossing points and landmark locations in the Ontario area while listening to guides in period costumes share tales of Tubman’s work throughout the region.
Philadelphia: A decade before the Civil War, Tubman called Philly home. The Kennett Underground Railroad Center offers tours of key sites in the Kennett area from the spring through fall.
Washington, D.C.: The Harriet Tubman Collection, which includes a shawl gifted to Tubman by Queen Victoria, is on permanent display at the National Museum of African American History and Culture. There is also a wax figure of the freedom fighter in the Presidents Gallery at Madame Tussauds.

Tohoku Region: Nikko
I was up early again for no reason other than I wanted to get a coffee before leaving Sendai. The trip was planned out with all the train departure times listed so I had to squeeze in my coffee before leaving Sendai or I might not get one at all. For this coffee I went on an adventure out to the airport. All my JR train travel is essentially free over these 5 days so I've spent loads of time sitting on trains, although I did pay 120 yen for the bus ride into the station this time since I was carrying my luggage. The Flat White Coffee Factory had one cafe in the airport and it had been good yesterday so I wanted to have it again today. Unfortunately the airport cafe didn't have scones, or lamingtons so I settled for a blueberry muffin with my flat white. It had a little too much foam again, but it was a coffee in Japan at 7.30am that was not from a conbini so you can't be too picky! On the ride back to Sendai I was the only person on the train, I guess because no one was leaving the airport at that time - no flights had arrived yet as far as I could tell. I booked my shinkansen tickets and then rode down to Utsunomiya, which only took about 45 minutes! There was just enough time to put my bags into a storage locker for the day, get a photo of the famed gyoza sculpture and pick up some omiyage sweets for Tomoko and Yuki when I meet them on Sunday. Utsunomiya is known for strawberries, they have huge ones that can be 60 grams each! I tried to find single strawberries for sale as I know you can get them, but everything available at the station souvenir shops was just stuff that included strawberries as an ingredient such as jam and cakes. I found a pack of 2 cakes that was ideal for the Tomoko and Yuki but sadly there was no giant strawberry that I could buy for myself! With my bags in storage I took the local train all the way out to Nikko National Park. From the station I took a bus part way up the main road just to help me make the most of my few hours there as I had booked my shinkansen for about 2 hours later hoping to walk the town circuit in that time. I began by walking out of town to a large fast flowing river that had rows of statues wearing little red hats down the path alongside it. There was a waterfall and the abyss which I couldn't quite pinpoint. As I walked the circuit further I saw some missing person posters about a French woman last seen in 2018, I made a note to look up later if she had been found... (she is still missing as of September 2021). I crossed a suspension bridge to return to the main part of town and then headed towards the main temples in the area. Again, it became quickly apparent that I wouldn't have enough time to see everything and get the train as planned. Since I couldn't see myself returning to Nikko for quite a while I decided to just skip that ticket and carry on with my sightseeing. First was a red bridge on the corner of the main roads which overlooked the mountains, they charged a fee for walking on the bridge (although the other end was closed) so I could take photos of it with no one standing on it!
I then climbed a very steep street, luckily shielded by tall trees, to a large temple area where I visited Sanbutsu-do temple, Toshogu Gojunoto (the five storey pagoda), and Nikkozan Rinnoji temple among other tori gates and shrines.
It was a beautiful temple complex and I like to get a fortune at the beautiful ones! I drew out a small packet with a fortune as well as a lucky charm. My fortune was good, also telling me this time to be patient! After spending some time here people watching I started to slowly make my way down the main street back to the station. There were many interesting shops and eateries, all quite busy today as it's the Japanese silver week so everyone is having a break! I stopped first for a custard taiyaki, except instead of being fish-shaped it was monkey-shaped. I'm guessing this keeps to the theme of Nikko! I had seen a few signs about being aware of monkeys as they can sometimes be quite territorial and attack apparently. A few doors down I stopped again to buy a Nikko egg tart which I got wrapped in a bag to takeaway and eat later. I picked up a few postcards from a craft store too, and was extremely tempted by the Nikko pudding shop with a line down the street (if there's a line it must be amazing, right?!) but managed to resist. One more quick stop into the tourist information centre to see some displays and then I was ready to take the local train to Utsunomiya, pick up my bags and then battle for an unreserved seat on the shinkansen to Tokyo. One more change to a train bound for Yokohama's Chinatown then a short walk and I was checked in to Chillulu Hostel. I could finally collapse into bed after a quick walk around the quiet Chinatown and a gigantic Taiwanese fried chicken that was absolutely delicious! It was 550 yen and they deep fried it fresh for me - it was so good, although unnecessary... the last little piece ended up dripping grease all over my hands and I had no napkins to wipe it. Chinatown also seemed to be the only area without any public toilets! I even tried a 7/11 but nope, no toilet. They did have a pack of laundry detergent sachets so I grabbed that and headed back to the hostel to do my laundry and wash my hands. Of course the cashier asked me if I wanted a bag for my tiny box of laundry detergent sachets... like c'mon man!
Upon adding up the regular price of all the bullet trains I took during my 5 day Tohoku pass period (not including the extra cost of local trains) I got a whopping ¥66,750 worth of shinkansen rides! My ¥20,000 pass definitely ended up paying off!

Riding Hood
WIP
Tagged by @mrspaigeomega
(Note: this is my own story of a modern red riding hood. I've never written anything that wasn't fan fiction, so here's what I wrote so far. This may be a short series. I don't know yet, I'm making this up as I go along.
Another note: it's got some gory parts)
The sun casting shadows through the enchanted forest in early morning, RRH Night Rangers(Red Riding Hoods Rangers) coming off of watch. Ranger Stephen Blythe walked away from one of many ranger towers, trails curved throughout the magnificent trees. Ranger Blythe hears the trampling steps of Ranger Hathaway as he raced to jump on Blythe. And like that Blythe moved to see Hathaway crash land on the trail with an audible thud.
"Ow! Hey you're supposed to wait for me" Hathaway whimpered as he came to a stance, "And I told you I'm leaving as soon as Halen and Reese show up, not 30 minutes after. Plus, I told you Halen doesn't date co-workers. Didn't I tell you, I told you, she don't" Blythe mocked as they walked the trail.
Hathaway then stood looking at Blythe annoyed, as soon as Blythe turned to mock Hathaway more, they just stood there till they both burst out laughing. They both began moving, it was early and they were tired.
"But maybe she'll change her mind" Blythe huffed unsure whether that would happen. Though it seemed like she was figuring something out, he'd known her enough to get it. She was like one of his sisters. Continuing to hike through the trails, before Blythe could really say anything an echo sang out. It sounded like it came from the small waterfall, before Blythe could motion Hathaway to keep moving the dunce went straight to the waterfall.
"Ugh, it's like trying to wrangle a puppy" Blythe exasperated as he followed his "green" partner. The singing was mesmerizing as they got closer, a total of 20 minutes and there Hathaway stood dumbfounded, and peeping.
"Hathaway, let's get going you dunce, I don't have time for this, plus it's hella creepy" Blythe never used hella before, so Hathaway looked back at Blythe even more dumbfounded. Blythe huffed and grabbed Hathaway's arm and he stepped on a stick and that made the singing stop. Hathaway ran into Blythe knocking him down, repeating shit over and over as he ran away. Tired and annoyed Blythe started to get up slowly hoping they didn't startle the woman.
"Well, Ranger Stephen Blythe, why don't you get out of the bushes and enjoy the sun with me" Blythe was surprised that the woman knew that it was him, he silently cursed under his breath at Hathaway, who was long gone, probably made it to town by now. Blythe did as was asked of him, he dusted himself off and went to the mystery woman.
"I'd like to apologize for my-" Blythe started but was taken back by the womans exposed skin, she smiled as she looked down at herself and back up at the reddened Ranger.
"Oh no, no need to apologize, I was hoping that you would come, I'm just glad that other man left us" she said with an impish smile, as her long dark hung over her shoulder covering her chest and the water blurred her from the waist down.
"What- who are you exactly, Miss?" Blythe stood there, then started stepped closer trying to piece together where he knew this mysterious woman. His hazel blue eyes focusing on her face, then noticed her stuff off to the side hanging on a conveniently chopped branch. She giggled knowing damn well he had no clue.
"We've never met, I've seen you around town and heard you in this forest talking, grumbling or other" she said looking him up and down with happy curious eyes. Making him feel slightly old with that grumbling comment, but she looked about his age. Blythe stood sternly trying to recall but was coming up short where in town he'd seen her, except for what he had said and done in the forest. But he had seen her, here, though it couldn't be possible. Enchanted forest people talked to it, held occult events or came to the waterfall for a swim, up to the lake for recreation, and found secluded spaces for intimate activities. This place did play tricks at times, and now maybe one of those times Stephen thought.
"Bellamy, Bellamy Reed" she said before dunking in the water and swam close to shore, she stood and walked out not shy about the fact she was bare. Stephen kept his eyes on everywhere but her, she smiled at him, and laughed. And stepped closer to him, and cleared her throat.
"You can look now, Stephen" he still didn't look down. "Just because you're close doesn't mean you are covered" Bellamy rolled her eyes and trudged over and dawned her dark cloak. He looked at her as soon as he heard the fabric sweeping the ground as she walked.
"Better? Ok, I'm positive you know why I'm here, I know, believe me. It's conflicting, I thought it was insane too, but I can't explain" Bellamy said hopeful but looked nervous, Stephen didn't like this part about the forest but he couldn't deny that he felt something. Even before his last marriage this was something that kept popping up, and more so after a couple of weeks ago. He knew trying to recreate his dream would bring more up and it did, dream woman stood before him like in his dream. Too much like the dream.
"I don't know what this forest has intended for us but are you sure you want to go through with it, go through with the deed? Like I know that I tried to recreate it but it's really, real, now" Bellamy sighed, and looked at Stephen with eyes that glowed a brilliant sapphire. Invisible sigils on the trees light up as the same sapphire.
"Have faith" Bellamy said, and with that Stephen Blythe knew Bellamy knew more than she let on. A riding hood and a witch, not exactly rare but it had people talking. Let them talk, he wasn't going to pass up someone like Bellamy Reed.

"Daniella!? Daniella Blythe?! Where are you?- Ahh, Geez!" Howell shrieked clutching his chest, I stood chartling at him as he looked at the ground mortified. This time I didn't mean to scare him, but he's my bestfriend, he understands. I step lightly, plus the enchanted forest keeps me safe, I was conceived in this forest. It's home.
"I'm sorry, Howell" I apologize between laughing and getting slapped on my arm, which only made me laugh more. Then he grabs my hand and sighs calmly.
"I thought you slipped away, I thought you-" he took a deep breath, I knew what he thought, but I don't think I'd get caught. Says every person who gets caught on tv, I'll probably get caught at some point. But I chuckle and pat my friends back.
"Hot chocolate? And I'll make us some dinner?" I offer but he looks torn, he's got a date. He doesn't have to say it, I know he does. He wouldn't hang so early if he didn't have somewhere to be at night. I sigh, a tired sigh, he's ditching me again. He's trying to say something but doesn't want to upset me, Howell is making this face that's driving me up a dang tree.
"Howell, just say it" I say with a huff. He smiles and is jittery with excitement.
"Ok, so as you can guess, I got a date. And they have a friend fresh out of a relationship, and I saidyou'dgoonadoubledatejusttotestthewaters" he thought saying everything fast would be enough to get me to say yes, he was dead wrong. I swear I was seeing red.
"Ugh, I would have preferred you going on a date, a double date. You dragged me into a date, come on, man!" I whined but he was staring at me with his puppy eyes, I gave sighing groan. Which means I'm going. Howell cheered, then immediately called his date as he dragged me to my grandmother's cottage to beautify ourselves for tonight.
And of course it was a double date at the fall carnival, Rangers, magic folk and Beings of all sorts and humans. So being a Rangers daughter I sported my signature red riding hood, you don't pay admission to get into any event but if the shit goes down you run towards the danger. So my phone is on my person, I'm also sporting a nice leather bag containing emergency/magic supplies and a med kit. So if my date is bad I'm ready for duty with the RRH Rangers.
_______________________
Which 45 minutes in my date and I were handling a drunk in the food court, I call nurses station as my date is trying to help a drunk party boy from falling on his own face, again. Greta zooms around the corner in her custom cart with her helpful nurses. She's head nurse and serveys the area like a hawk, before she leaves she kisses the top of my head and gives me some lollipops.
"That's cool, so I'm guessing you're her favorite" I smile coyly at my date before I enjoy my free candy, he doesn't seem bad but who knows. I was tired and ready to go home, and considering that I came with Howell, I was left stranded practically.
"This date was interesting, but it's getting late-" he stands upright in shock. I can't help but giggle at him, plus if I'm walking through the forest I'll need to leave now.
"I'm not implying that the date was bad, I just have to walk home and it's a bit of walk" right as I finish that sentence Ranger Hathaway Jr. pulls up in his jeep. I exasperate with a sigh.
"Ugh, what are you doing here?" I complain as he jumps out his jeep and bounds over to me with a big smile, he opens his arms for a hug, I smile at him and give a friendly hug.
"I talked to Howell, said you were both here on dates. And knowing you, I know you are walking so I thought I'd escort you, little sister" I laughed at him, "little sister?". 'Bitch, I'm 2 years older than you, we ain't doing this', I'm amused but just hoping that we can go.
"Ranger Hathaway Jr. this is William Lewis. William Lewis this is Timothy Hathaway Jr.." Timothy looked him up and down, I sigh, roll my eyes. And smile at William, and mouth "excuse him, bad manners", he laughs.
"I know 'em, new guy. Let's get going, Dani. See you tomorrow, new guy" Timothy says annoyed and gets on his jeep in a bit of a huff.
"I'll see you around, William" I call out I go with Timothy, giving a wave and smile.
Timothy peels out so fast that I don't hear William say goodbye, I don't know what Timothy's problem is but he sure has a big up his ass. I look out the window ignoring Timothy, he drives calmly through the forest about half an hour later we were close to the cottage. He pulls off to the side near the destination, he leans over and brings my face to his and kisses me. We sit there kissing after a while I pull away, this was an old habit that I had a problem kicking. We kiss and then end up in the backseat, we argue. And then he follows me to the cottage where he basically spends the night, then we get in a fight in the morning.
But tonight is different, something is outside watching, someone's here. The wind through the trees howls then a wolf howls, I don't think, I just get out of the jeep. Timothy follows but I go straight to the source, it's right there in the back. I run and see a large werewolf tangled up in my clothes line, I look back and see Timothy trying to call me to him. I turn to see two coming out of the trees, I approach and crouch down beside the werewolf caught in my sheets and clothes line.
"You're ok, I'm going to help you, ok?" I say to the large, large being whimpering, I cut through the fabric and string. Being as gentle and firm as needed. I uncover the sheets around his head and cut the string around his neck, I am met with large breathy wolf breaths.
"Hi" I say to the large werewolf just before I get get licked. The least he could do was buy me a drink first, I almost pet him but refrain from doing so. Timothy is standing behind me placing his pocket knife in his pocket, looking a little disappointed that he left it in his jeep.
"Look it's getting late, maybe we can talk or something tomorrow, or later" Timothy nods scratching his head. I don't wait for his reply, personally I just want him gone.
I am unsure what to do so I run inside, and grab a large serving bowl to offer some water to my new guests. Luckily the large werewolf I cut from my tangled clothes line was there in the front yard. Tail wagging fast and eager, I quickly crank the bucket up from well, I offer him some water, I hear the other two come around the corner. And I go back in and grab two more bowls and fill the bowls, my guests drink, I was so preoccupied I didn't notice Timothy had left. And frankly I was fine with it, I was done with him, I wanted to be done with that cycle.
I felt how heavy my eyes were when I blinked, I looked at my guest who were probably as tired as I was. I blinked fast once one of my guests were human, I looked at her unsure how to react. Then I looked at the large werewolf in front of me expecting him to go human.
"He can't turn back till morning, I'm Jennifer Jennings, this is Andrew Brown, our little brother" the younger woman said pointing at the smaller werewolf behind her.
"And the big boy that was tangled in the clothes line is Chuck Spadina" the young woman giggled at the last name as the large werewolf nipped at her. I stifled a giggle. The young woman fastened my sheet wrapped around her as she stood kinda giggling and embarrassed about her lack of clothes.
"This large boys name is David Jennings. We were roaming and running around the area. Then Andrew and David were wrestling and running till David got tangled in your linens. They ran far so he's been sitting here for an hour or so, waiting for Andy to return with some help. If David could talk he'd be very sorry, and pay for the damages or fix any of the damage. By morning he could" the werewolf stood with an awe, I could feel that he would be good on his word and I took their word for it.
"I'd be glad to see him tomorrow, I should let you all go about your night, I hope you have a good night" then like that I hear the woman chirp with excitement and in a blink three werewolves ran off into the forest. Anything that was a mess could be cleaned tomorrow on a nice and easy Sunday.
_______________________________
Wolves snarled and tugged on a cloth, a mysterious breeze blew, whirling leaves and love letters over a village. I sat in my hiding spot hoping, praying that if the marauders came back the wolves would deal with them. They slain my love, my family, and my whole village. I cursed at myself for days as I bury everyone, the wolves stayed by me whimpering. They felt my breaking heart, I wanted my family, my village back. My rage wanted me to burn the ruined huts, but I didn't have it in me as I wept and carried everyone to their graves.
That was the past, my hopes and dreams lie in the earth becoming one with mother earth. My future sat beside me chewing on a rib, the moon lightly illuminated the whole outside, I decided to go look at it. My friend followed me as I clutch the knife on my side ready for any strangers lurking. I was comforted by the gentle glow, I gaze up at the moon. It had the color of blood. A witches moon, I think that's what my grandparents called it, I looked down at the beautiful golden eyes observing me closely. Like he knew what I was thinking, he walked in front of me, then faced me and sat. I didn't waste no time, I slashed my hand and let him bite, soon I was swarmed by more. It felt so final, I wanted to shed my past, shed my pain. Be reborn, I felt words from my heart being spoken aloud.
"I give myself to your nature
I give myself to your kind
Accept me as your own
Accept me as part of your pack
My soul is bound to you
I am giving my being to you"
I say before I pass out from the pain, I hoped that they accepted me or at least my sacrifice. My heart beating wildly, I opened my eyes up to bright blue morning sky, panting heavily. My heart raced as the weight that hurt felt lighter.
I hear a light pounding, it continues and continues. I soon realize it's morning as I squint at my clock, I slept pretty heavy, my head felt groggy and I felt my balance was off as I got up feeling dizziness. The knocking wasn't going to quit as I did my best to stand, I fell back when I turned to try and make it out to answer the door. Then the door swung open as I stood holding on to my bed, Timothy calling out to me as another set of boots followed his.
"Daniella! Dani, are you ok?" and the first place he looked was bathroom as a tall giant immediately came right to me. He looked worn out a bit but probably better than me at this very moment.
"Are you Daniella? Can you get up? Feel any pressure anywhere? Any dizziness, headaches?" I nodded at how handsome he looked close up, but I also just woke up so I needed a while. Before I could think, the man picked me up and placed me back in bed, adjusting my pillows to sit me up comfortably. I could feel a blush burning across my skin, he was so strong. And fascinatingly tall, but I was five foot six so enough people are taller than I.
My heart raced as I did my best to focus, his inquiry was interesting. It's like he knew what was going on, did he have the same dream too.

♂ - … My muse’s father and/or ♀ - … My muse’s mother
I decided to try my hand at both at the same time. This takes place post-canon, just before Shelly starts high school.
**********
Sharon sat in the waiting room at the orthodontist’s office, scrolling through her Facebook feed. She could hardly concentrate on Sheila’s latest family photo or Liane’s newest culinary creation. Today was a banner day in her daughter’s life.
Sharon was pulled out of her thoughts by a familiar voice.
“Mom, it’s gone! That fucking headgear is finally gone!”
Sharon bit back the “Language!” that was on the tip of her tongue as she glimpsed her now braces-free daughter.
Her heart swelled at the sight.
Shelly was beaming. Honest to god, genuinely beaming. Sharon couldn’t remember the last time that her daughter had worn a smile that reached her eyes.
“Sweetie, you look beautiful!” Sharon exclaimed. She was obviously a bit biased. After all, every mother thought that their children were beautiful. However, her daughter was truly, almost objectively gorgeous. She had pretty, delicate features that were no longer obscured by that awful headgear. Her pale blue eyes, normally clouded with rage, sparkled radiantly. She had run a brush through her hair before entering the waiting room and it fell just past her shoulders in a perfect caramel brown waterfall.
“This calls for a celebration! Your father and brother are waiting for us at Buca de Faggoncini.”
Shelly smiled wider, showing off her now perfect teeth.
**********
Randy tapped his foot impatiently. He was starving. Did braces removal really take that long?
“Dad, they’re here!” Stan exclaimed, tugging at his father’s sleeve.
Randy did a double take as his wife entered the restaurant with her fourteen-year-old self.
This must be some potent ass weed, he thought to himself. I’m seeing double, except that I’m seeing people with themselves from the past! I need to market this shit! Randy made a mental note to call Towelie later.
“H-hi Shelly,” Stan stammered to Sharon’s clone. He braced himself, as if he was anticipating a pummeling. “You - you look nice.”
“Hey, turd. Thanks.” Sharon Jr. punched Stan on the shoulder affectionately.
Randy did another double take. He only knew one person who used the word “turd” as a term of endearment. Was this really his daughter.? Where was the scowl, the constantly radiating anger?
Randy blinked. Shelly looked so much like her mother that it scared him. She was every bit as beautiful as Sharon was at that age, if not more so.
Which meant that the thing that he had been dreading for the past two years was going to happen soon.
Scratch that. It was happening right this second.
Randy sent a death glare towards the teenage boy at the next table who was busy gawking at Shelly.
He wasn’t ready for this. He would never be ready for this.

Writeblr Introduction
*taps the microphone* Is this thing on? Oh, it's on.
Hello Writeblr community! Guess it's time I made a formal introduction, huh?
About me
Pen name: M. X. Manuel, but call me Mumi
She/her, Black (South African), INFJ, HSP.
Age: somewhere in between looking like a thirteen-year-old and acting like a thirty-year-old
If it's sad, I'll listen to it. Hence, rock and punk are my favorite genres of music.
My default brain setting is psychoanalysis. My accuracy astounds me.
If I were a book character, I'd be the sweet dwarf elder who lives in the far end of the village near the waterfall with an enormous garden and heals people.
I'm somehow everyone's therapist. Never signed up for the role but I love it. Feel free to send a message if you wanna talk.
Random fact: I struggle to cry. Ever watched "The Holiday"? Yeah, I'm Amanda Woods Jr.
About my writing
I write YA fiction. Paranormal/fantasy and romance are my main genres. Comedy is always welcome. I like to experiment with my genres, though.
I strive to bring diversity into whatever I write. Good representation is a main goal of mine. Everyone has a voice that deserves to be heard; think of me as a mouthpiece.
I'm that odd hybrid of plotter and pantser. Plot the main points, dig into my imagination for the rest.
I love my main characters. Truly, I do. That doesn't mean I don't love putting them through absolute hell just as much.
I'm that lucky breed of writer that never gets writer's block.
Current WIPs
The Transcenders: YA Paranormal Romance. In which a cynic realizes that love and levitation are more related than she ever believed. Highly diverse, based loosely on a South African setting, loads of romance, original paranormal species.
Untitled : YA romance. A hitman falls in love with his target. (This one is still marinating).
Feel free to reblog if you're a writeblr!

Kyoto: day 02
Fri, Feb 28th 2020
We started today at 8 am, after having an Indonesian fusion breakfast at our apartment (we brought abon + teri from home, and some rice of course) we were ready to start our day. It was a sunny day but still, the temperature was around 7-8 degree celcius. No rain predicted which always a blessed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Our first destination was Kiyomizu-dera temple. It located at kiyomizu area, Higashiyama district eastern of Kyoto. Kiyomizu-dera is a buddhist temple founded in year 778.  It takes its name from the waterfall within the complex, which runs off the nearby hills. Kiyomizu means clear water, or pure water.  In 1994, the temple was added to the list of UNESCO world heritage sites.
Tumblr media
We have to walked 1,5 km from our apartment which was not that bad. One thing to be noticed was the uphill road along the way. We chose the uncommon way to got there (again, thanks to google map), less crowds but still feel a bit touristry thanks to many store lined up from small cafe to souvenir shop.
Tumblr media
Once we arrived, we welcomed by a small temple-like gate with a few steps along the way. There were not many people that day thank god, I heard in its peak season, there would be massive lines of people and its not that enjoyable to visit.
Tumblr media
After passing the gate, we found ourself at the top of the hills, at this point you could see the city of Kyoto from its modern building to mountains surrounding it. By the way, I think Kyoto is pretty much like Bandung (minus the traffic) because this city is located in a highland and surrounded my mountains, not a modern as Tokyo but still a city not suburban.
Before entering the main temple, we required to bought an admission ticket 400 yen (Rp.55.000) per person. The main temple was located 18 m above the ground, this temple is famous for its large wooden terrace surrounded my cherry blossom and maple tree. Unfortunately, we went there on winter so all of the trees has no leaves left. The best season to visit here (and visit Japan in general) is autumn or spring, you’ll feel mesmerized by its beautiful pinkish cherry blossom blooming or orange-red maple leaves there.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After we satisfied with the temple, we were heading downhill thru the exit gate. Besides the main temple, Kiyomizu-dera has a couple of other small temple as well. We payed a visit to one of the small pagoda called Koyasu Pagoda which reminded me so much of the pagoda in Kemaro Island, Palembang lol. Just before the exit gate, we made a brief stop at Ottawa Waterfall. Legend has it, each stream's water is said to have a different benefit, namely to cause longevity, success at school and a fortunate love life. However, drinking from all three streams is considered greedy.
Tumblr media
Done with Kiyomizu-dera, we proceed to our next destination; Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka slopes.
First we headed to Sannenaka, a street full of souvenir shops, cafe, and street foods. Here in Kyoto, one of the well-known souvenir was a traditional japanese fan which ranged from 1000 yen (Rp.125.000) up until 15.000 yen (Rp.2.000.000). I also happened to bought a snack, a cream puff with matcha custard inside, yum!
Tumblr media
One thing I like about these slopes was how they were reminding me of old and authentic japan. I like the classic and traditional vibes they provided. A lined of machiya-like (old traditional japanese wooden house) shops and traditional rickshaws somehow soothed me. These were definitely a must visit place while you’re in Kyoto.
In Sannenzaka, we stopped at one famous dessert cafe I’ve been dying to visit; Maccha House!
This cafe sells variety of matcha dessert (since Kyoto famous for its uji matcha) but famous for its matcha tiramisu. I tried one for 590 yen (Rp.80.000) and it was worth every penny I’ve spent! The cream, topped with matcha powder, was smooth, not too sweet which I like and it has a strong matcha flavor. If you’re happened to be here, I really recommend you to try this! Again, thank me later.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After Sannenzaka, we were entering Ninenzaka street. Here’s place of the famous and one of the kind Machiya-like starbucks. Too bad we were already full from tiramisu before, we bought nothing from this starbucks, maybe next time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
From Ninenzaka, we continued our journey that day to Gion District. Gion is Kyoto’s geisha district, with hostesses in colorful kimonos often sighted on the wooden Tatsumi Bridge, or amid upscale Japanese restaurants and boutiques on Hanamikoji Street.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
From Hanamikoji street (famous for its geisha diner) to Gion Shirakawa (a river banks street full of traditional japanese restaurant). I personaly love the vibes at Gion Shirakawa, it was so peaceful with its large pavements and again, a lined up of machiya restaurant with cherry blossom tree along the way (no, not blooming yet).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s lunch time! We were craving for some hot dish, and we picked halal ramen Naritaya which located 500 m from Gion Shirakawa. Finding a halal ramen in Japan could be a little challenge since ramen traditionally made with pork broth or topped with chasu but thankfully this one is the halal one :)
Their food ranged from 800-1400 yen (110.000 to 190.000). I picked spicy miso ramen; which in my opinion it tasted almost similar with ramen I had in Indonesia but better. As a sucker for japanese food, I think this place is quite good for a nice bowl of halal ramen. In my experience, the halal food in japan always more expensive than the regular one, i dont know why tho.....
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gion district, done! Next: Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine
Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine is one of the well known icon of Kyoto. The highlight of the shrine is the rows of torii gates, known as Senbon Torii (the orange gates we all know, even we had one of its replica here in Bandung). Located at the foot of Mount Inari all the way to the top. It’s pretty easy to get there, once you arrived at JR Inari station, the Shrine located right in front of the station. This is one of the place that didn’t have an admission fee or free entrance!
a little detour, as you might already knew, train is the main transportation here in Japan. With its extensive and somewhat confusing line, it covers almost every inch of the country. In Tokyo, they have more complicated lines yet I feel like its less likely to get lost there than in Kyoto. Kyoto has so many lines managed by various company; not just metro and JR like in Tokyo. Sometimes, they’re using the same line for a different train. My little tips here is to always read the sign on every train you’ll take, make sure those train will make a stop at your destined station. And if the seats in the train are nice, it probably a long-ride train, not a local train so always do the check and be cautious.
Okay, back to the main road.
In Fushimi inari-taisha Shrine, first, we saw the main shrine, then we have to hiked all the way to the top of the mountain with the torii gate along our way. We didn’t make it to the top, I heard it takes 2 hours to get to the end of the gate. Lucky for us, there were not many tourist that day so we could enjoyed our hiked there. The gate actually are a charity given by a person to the shrine. The bigger the money, the bigger the gate you’ll get.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Along the way to the station, there was so many food stalls selling japanese street food. From dango, daifuku, yakitori, and other Kyoto specialty. I myself bought Strawberry daifuku (mochi) for 250 yen (Rp.33.000). Yum! Japanese food is the best, even the street food. So, make sure to take a stop and buy one to yourself whenever you’re in Japan.
Tumblr media
The sun has set and we were back to the apartment. Took a little bit rest and decided to strolled around Gion for a quick dinner. It only took us 20 min from our apartment to Gion by foot. One thing I noticed again during our walks is that how quiet and peaceful Kyoto is compare to Tokyo. We took a shortcut thru residential area and its the most peaceful among all. Even the famous Hanamikoji street (Geisha’s area) is far from crowded.
We were having dinner at Mcdonald’s Gion, near Kamo River at Kyoto-Karawamachi area. This is something that worth the try if you’re planning to visit japan. Go to the nearest Mcdonald’s and order their ebi filet burger. The crunchy tempura-like exterior with a mashed AND real shrimp inside....again, thank me later.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s a wrap for our 2nd day, 5 days to gooo!

Bluejay, God of Pasta
A lighthearted take on what Bluejay could do with the power of Overwrite, if he had the mind to do so. This is part of an AU outcome of dreamswap by @onebizarrekai
More information on this AU can be found here @phases-of-the-fallen
warnings: food mention
tagslist: @anxiety-is-married-to-depression @angelofthehalfmoon @trainwreck-of-skeletons @hisame-amadashi @therandomskelekey @capisnotonfire
A broad, unsettling grin had appeared on Bluejay's face as he stalked closer to Sparrow, noting that the other was fully absorbed in his paperwork. From the sizes of the stacks around him, the other had been diligently working for hours and hours.  Which was just as well, because he had something special to show the other. He teleports directly behind Sparrow’s chair, draping himself around one of his loves, pressing a light kiss to one of the other’s cheeks, his hands sliding across the other’s shoulders, and down his chest “Hmmm, good afternoon, darling.”
Sparrow tensed a little bit at the unexpected touch, and his hand jerks, causing a messy line to appear across half of the page that he’d been ever so carefully writing on. “B...Bluejay! I… Hadn’t expected you to b-be here so soon. Y-You said that you had an i-idea for a project and w-wandered off a couple of d-days ago.” The other was shaking just a little bit and there was an unfortunate amount of nervousness and fear in the golden-winged being’s aura.
“Hmm… What’s with all of this fear, Sparrow? You haven’t been misbehaving in my absence, have you?” Bluejay asked, frowning a little, his eye lights narrowing a little as he leaned around the other’s chair to look at the other directly “If you have… You *do* know it’s better to confess now, rather than wait until I find out what it was that you did, right?” There was a hint of a warning in his voice.
Sparrow sunk in on himself and shook his head, answering after a moment, his voice a bit stronger “I haven’t done anything you haven’t told me to, or gone against your rules, I am just… Surprised to see you back so soon. Usually you’re gone for weeks when you’re working on a project.”
Jay hummed and nodded at that - fair. He usually had been gone for weeks at a time - still… He disliked the fact that Sparrow was still so tentative around him, but hopefully this project really would remind the other that he had done what he had in order to help. “Yes, that’s true… But this new project came together much faster than I was anticipating! And I want you to see the results of it. I’m sure that you’ll find it quite helpful, my darling.” With that he darted around the chair, scooped up his adorably short boyfriend, and teleported the two of them to another timeline in one fluid motion.
Sparrow gasped and tensed at the sudden movement, staring at the empty timeline the two of them were in, in utter confusion “I… What… What happened to this world?” They were currently in Snowdin - but the ground looked far different than normal.
“Well, since no one lives in this timeline, and you have mentioned that there’s been a shortage of food in a couple of timelines that you’ve been struggling to find the appropriate resources for… I decided to do something about it, using this unused timeline.” Bluejay explained, setting one of his loves down. “Taste the snow.”
Not really wanting to, but knowing better than to disobey a direct order from Jay - even when the other is in such a pleasant mood, Sparrow kneels down cautiously in the snow - blinking as he realizes that he doesn’t feel the icy touch of the frozen water. He brings a handful of the strangely rough, off-white substance to his mouth, taking a cautious bite. His eyes widen and he stares at the ground in utter confusion “This… This tastes like parmesan and mozzarella cheese?”
“Yes! I converted each of the sections of Snowden and the forest outside of it to different kinds of cheeses that would go on top of pastas - including a couple of different kinds of vegan cheeses in a couple of isolated spots, so that everyone could have some! And, like the snow in Snowdin, it’s completely renewable resource! Come, see Noodle Falls and Sauceland!” Jay responded with an eager grin, scooping up Sparrow and running happily through the ankle-deep cheese snow, until they reached the beginning of the waterfall area. Instead of water, what fell from the ceiling was an endless supply of noodles.
Many of them were spaghetti noodles, but sometimes there would be a shower of tortellini or ravioli. Sometimes spiralini noodles would twist and dance, and Sparrow had to dodge a massive barrage of lasagne noodles before they smacked him in the face. He snagged a tortellini and ate it - his eye lights brightening at the delicious taste, and how perfectly cooked it was “This is… This is really good.”
“I’m glad that you like it! I also have different kinds of noodles in each of the sections of waterfall, including gluten free, vegan and other specialized kinds of noodles! I do want to be sure to be able to feed *everyone* as much of any kind of pasta that they so desire, without said pasta making them sick. Onwards to Sauceland!” Jay responded with a huge grin on his face as he continued to drag his beloved around this altered world. There were many delicious sauces - each labeled carefully and separated so that nothing could get cross-contaminated.
“The Core and the castle I have altered as well. There are different kinds of garlic breads in the core, and as for the castle… Well, I decided that an endless supply of delicious sweets and good drinks - both alcoholic and not - would be just the *perfect* endpoint. So, what do you think? I’m quite sure that it will solve your food shortage issue.” Jay responded, eagerly bouncing a little as he waited for Sparrow to respond.
The fact that Bluejay could so entirely alter an entire AU like this was terrifying. But if the food stores here were truly endless… Yes, it would do a great deal of good. “This will help a lot… Thank you, Bluejay. Although I’m not sure if everyone in the affected AUs like pasta, the warm, hot meals will be better than the very little that they currently have.” Sparrow responded, choosing his words with care, though he was genuinely grateful for the other’s help. He walked closer to Jay, going up on his tiptoes and wrapping his arms around the other’s waist, nuzzling into the other’s chest. “Really, this will do a lot of good. Return me home, so I can inform the proper people of the location of this world, so that food distribution can begin?”
“Sure thing, darling.” Bluejay grinned, teleporting the both of them back to JR’s headquarters.

Double stitched (part 9)
Previous - First- Next - Rewrite
“What are you doing back here, Blue?” It was late, Dream had just finished leftover paperwork and was about to head to bed, but as always Blue found a way into his office.
“Oh, nothing much. I just know you got beat up by our little friend Error. You don’t want this information to get out, do you?” Blue walked over to stand in front of Dream, smiling as always.
“I wasn’t beat up, I barely had a bruise and it’s already gone. Stop wasting my time.” Dream tried to walk around Blue but was blocked.
“You were limping. Don’t think I didn’t notice, I’m extremely surprised no one else noticed. Oh, that’s right, you told them it was ‘Nothing to worry about.’ right? I have a deal, if you follow it, this information won’t get out. Simple as that.” Dream’s face stayed calm, unmoved by Blue childish game
“I’m not giving up Glitch if that’s what you want, and if you forcefully capture him we both know he’ll just escape anyhow. I don’t care that it gets out because he and I are around the same age, it was also training. Besides, if it got out that I was hurt by a new recruit they’d want me to keep him to help JR, the only thing you’d be doing is helping Glitch be promoted to my left hand.” Dream shoved Blue out of the way, not wanting to stunt the little sleep he was going to get.
Blue stood there, left alone in the office. The moon shone down through the window, showing its half-lit face. Was there really nothing he could do to get his pawn back?
-----
“Boss? You called for me?” Glitch walked into Dream’s office, terribly confused. It was only his first week here and he was already being called to his Boss’s office.
“Yes, I did. You can take a seat. This is just a quick question that’s been bothering me, and a bit of a chat.” Glitch walked over, closing the double doors behind him and took a seat in one of the chairs in front of Dream’s desk. “The question I want to ask is why you chose option 2, I honestly thought you were going to choose 1 or 3.”
  “Why would you think that?”
“One because you don’t want to say anything about Nightmare’s gang and you’d rather out your life on the line, and three because you could just escape Blue and go home.”
“I don’t even know where home is anymore, only whoever scouts the home knows where it is. It helped so if one of us got captured the others couldn’t be traced. And I understand that three could’ve gone well for me but I want to extend my powers, for the better of JR of course. Option one just leaves me in pain, I’m not a masochist.”
“Smart for Nightmare, anyhow, I also called you to tell you we found an occult that has been using villages around their area for mass amounts of sacrifices. If we don’t kill them away they’ll just restart themselves, are you up for it?”
“Uh… yeah sure. When are we going?”
“In a few hours, we will be back by dinner. I recommend you get ready, in your dresser drawer there should be a suit for battle, there should be the sword you picked out while we were sparing. I must go get ready if you excuse me.”
“Oh, yeah of course. Uh.. thanks.”
-----
A few months had passed by and everything was going good for Glitch. He had gone on a good handful of missions, done more training and could even beat Dream on a lucky day, in his mind everything was well. He missed Nightmare, Cross, and greatly missed Strings… but slowly they began to slip his mind.
Today Glitch was going out on a walk in the surface of a random AU, he went around peacefully admiring to scenery and enjoying life.
“Glitch? How did you find us? And what’s a JR pin doing on your scarf?” Glitch was hopeful -maybe it was Strings- but when he looked in front of him, he found Cross a few feet away instead.
“Cross? Oh, uh… yeah. I’m with JR now.” Cross gave Glitch a glare filled with hatred, “D-don’t worry! I did it to protect you guys… if you ever get captured I can free you…” Cross’s glare dropped and was replaced with a happy smile.
“Thanks, G, do you want to come see Strings? He really misses you, we all do.”
“The pin is tracking my location, Cross, I don’t want to endanger you guys. But, I still want to see him, tell Strings to meet me in OuterTale’s waterfall, in the secret room- today if he can, in about an hour. I’m going to go back to JR, I want to put the pin away so they can’t find me.”
“Will do Glitchy, anything for love.” Cross ran away before Glitch could tell him how cliche and cringe-worthy that sentence was.
An hour or so later Glitch found himself waiting on the lone bench set in the middle, as he said he would- Glitch left the pin in his room so he couldn’t be tracked. True they never told him that it tracked his movements, but one day he got bored and looked into the code behind the pin- finding a small tracking device in it.
The god’s heart -or soul- was beating at a fast pace, he was nervous but excited. The butterfly's flying around in his non-existent stomach never stopped, he was anticipating seeing Strings again. Strings made him feel the kind of love that makes you stumble on your own words, the kind that made you act like a clown in a circus, the kind that made him love every second he was with his crush.
“Glitch? Are you here?” Strings walked across the bridge, every second suddenly slowed down as Glitch looked at the other- Strings hadn’t changed at all. The butterfly’s suddenly started flying around like they were hummingbirds and Glitch couldn’t speak for himself, he stumbled over his words like he was trying to learn to walk again, “Glitch are you okay? You sound like a broken record.” Strings laughed a bit at the idea.
“U-um, y-yeah. I-i, I just… It’s been so long…” He had finally got his bearings back together at least. Getting up from his seat he walked over to Strings to properly talk to him.
They had fun together, it was almost like they were on a date. They caught up on what had been happening the past months and joked around, it was like a couple being reunited after years, nothing had changed.
The pair went around a few AU’s as well, that is, the few that JR hadn’t gotten to. Nonetheless, the two Errors enjoyed each others company and had a lively time, But the few hours they had together went by all to quickly, and Glitch had to leave.
“Strings, before I leave, I want to tell you something.” Strings gave glitch his full attention, waiting patiently. A few short moments passed before Glitch finally said it aloud, the one thing that he had been wanting to say for almost half a year now, “S-strings… I-I...” He took a deep breath to calm himself and then looked straight into the others mismatched pupils, “I love you. I know you’re probably not ready for a relationship but I want you to know, because of where I work now we most likely won't be able to do this again too.”
Before Glitch left, he did one final thing. He went right up in front of Strings and gave him a loving but quick little kiss, to both it felt like it wasn’t long enough, but before Strings could say anything to protest- Glitch had already left.
The duo wasn’t too different from each other because even though one of them was the reason they even kissed in the first place- both of their reactions were to go to their own room and yell into a pillow. While Glitch was left alone to his thoughts, Nightmare and Cross were there for Strings- mainly to tease him about it and say things like “It was about time”.
