Billy likes the way the walls shake with excitement when Eugene’s voice cracks or Darla burns something, how the house dances with the musical lilt of Mary’s voice, the manner in which the rooms spin when Freddy walks through the door; but most of all, Billy would be lost, floating adrift inside the crack in the wall, if it weren’t for the steadiness of Rosa’s hands while his tremble, or the stability of her voice as his world tilts on its axis, or the regularity of her heartbeat when everything around him remains irregular.

He doesn’t thank her enough. Billy watches the crack in the wall as it expands over the entire room, and the floor sways underneath him. He reaches a hand out to steady himself, and when he shuts his eyes, the sound of Darla talking to Freddy through the room reminds Billy of everything he has to lose. But it gives him an idea, too.

He doesn’t thank her enough. He hopes this makes up for it. Even just a little.

i was looking at shazam fanfiction last night (as you do) and came across a freebats soulmate AU of the 'your soulmark is your soulmate's first words to you' variety and i'm genuinely devastated that it was an AU that didn't use their canonical first words to each other.

freddy's first words to billy are 'you know romans used to brush their teeth with their own urine' that's hilarious why would you waste such a golden opportunity!!

I just wanted to say that I love your tumblr. I can’t believe all the hate your getting. Fanfiction exists for a reason. So we can share our perspective and live out our desires with characters we fell in love with. Like I totally accept that Reddie in the IT fandom is real. I also adore Eddie and write fanfiction about him being straight. Why? Cause I can. Cause it’s fiction. I can do that and still love Reddie. Anyway sorry for my rant I just wanted to encourage you and say I love your stuff!

And yeah, some people seem to love getting upset over stuff that really doesn’t matter. I mean these are fictional characters to begin with, and yeah you make a great point. Fanfiction, as well as fanart etc. and headcanons exist so fans of a work or a character can explore different possibilites and play with the characters. All this doesn’t detract from or affect the canon of a series.

And in my opinion - again, it’s an opinion and people are free to disagree with me - Billy and Freddy make a cute couple, and watching the movie I felt that Freebat made total sense and really worked. But if you prefer to ship Freddy or Billy with someone else, go for it!

At this point im so tired to ALWAYS see hate on freebat tag. I go there to find fun contents. I love their friendship and prefer it more than the romantic ship, but I can see most of the people who ship freebat romantically dont ship them as BROTHERS who are in love. They just ship them as TWO TEENAGERS who are in love.

Can't people be open minded enough to see past their bigotted little brains to realize that these two things are VERY VERY different?!?!?

Is it an erasure of what happened in the actual movie? A little bit, yeah. But, guess what??? There are a lot of ships that deviate a little bit from the canon, thats why it's called FANFICTION. It's not like we're threatening the creators of the movie to make them romantically involved in the canon.

And to be honest, i'm starting to think that most of the freebat haters are just plain homophobic because if these were a boy and a girl, more people would have jumped on the ship INSTANTLY. (Im going to get even more hate for this but if the movie were focused on Mary and Billy, people would probably be sleeping on it and dont comment if they become a couple because IT'S BOUND TO HAPPEN).

To name a few ship that i've seen people pointed out having this kinda trope are from the flash, umbrella academy, and the fosters (im sure you know what these ships are).

Also, if you know korean series "Reply" (there are 3 seasons, different stories for each season), the main couple has the same situation where a girl and a boy living on the same house, raised together as siblings, even calling the same parents MOM AND DAD, and they end up MARRIED. The whole theme of these couple is "Yes, we are raised together, but we've seen each other MORE than just brother/sisters". This is a recurring theme on most of these couples like westallen, etc.

I just hate that freebat got treated with double standards just because they are two BOYS. I'm not saying that the creators are setting up this elaborate scenario to make freebat endgame couple in the end, like any other STRAIGHT ship out there, but cant people just have fun on their own??

Most of the reason i see people hating on freebat is because they're kids and they see each other as brothers. Well, hate to break it to you:

1) 14-15 years old are going through puberty, if you think they are not doing anything about that, then you're so naive you should stop going on tumblr altogether. Did you forget they tried their first alcohol in the movie?????? How is that not on your rant and just focus on the possibility they MIGHT feel something for each other????? Plus, im sure freebat shippers know when things are TOO FAR when it comes to these things.

2) Billy👏🏻can👏🏻totally👏🏻see👏🏻Freddy👏🏻as👏🏻more👏🏻than👏🏻just👏🏻brother👏🏻. I see most of the complains come with the forms: "Doesnt matter if they just met for a short time" "doesnt matter if they are not blood related" "doesnt matter if they were not raised together". But guess what?????????? We literally dont know what's going on in his head. Billy spent the entire whole movie hating on the foster group and thinking of running away, and then a glimpse of it spending time as family. Am i saying that it's not possible that Billy see Freddy as just brother? No. He can totally do that. But is it possible that from the first time, BEFORE he accepts all of them as family, he has a little bit of crush on Freddy??? Absolutely. You cant just blindly say he cant do that, because you're just pushing your own believe. And if you think that Freddy doesnt have a BIG crush on Billy before he even turned Shazam, then I dont think we're watching the same movie because that could TOTALLY happen. Freddy even said "And you're my best friend I dont want you to die". See the keyword here??

And, if your argument is based on "if its technically not incest, then its a problem" im saying this again, just incase you dont get it yet, MOST👏🏻OF👏🏻THE👏🏻SHIPPERS👏🏻SHIP👏🏻THEM👏🏻AS👏🏻TWO👏🏻TEENAGERS👏🏻NOT👏🏻BROTHERS👏🏻

Erasuring what happened in the canon? This is not the first ship.

Hey y’all,

With April coming up and March 30 being the one-year anniversary of my publishing on AO3, I’m going to spend March finished my in-progress stories I’ve been working on, celebrating the one-year anniversary and preparing for Camp NaNoWriMo in April. As I have in the past, I would love to receive story/one-shot ideas from my readers. I found that these stories are extra special since they are requested from someone and I’m tasked with bringing their ideas to life.

I’ve finally started writing a Byeler/Reddie/Freebat crossover fic! This one is a little darker than most of my stories, as it addresses a case of domestic violence. So, trigger warning for those who need one. I’ll be adding more to this story throughout the month of March, as well as some other stories of mine that are in progress and then I’ll be writing new stories during April for Camp NaNoWriMo, so stay tuned for more!

Byeler/Reddie/Freebat Christmas One-shots!

Hello all,

December starts late next week (which I can’t believe!), and I’ll be getting away from my NaNoWriMo project to focus on other writing. By other writing, I’d like to work on some Byeler, Reddie and Freebat one-shots with a Christmas theme. So, like I did in the summer and for Promptober, I am actively searching for one-shot ideas to write for these ships.
