One thing that really bugs me with Roy is that in all the wiki, along with Part 5 itself, is that Roy allegedly abandons his son Joey to the system. But I don't think that's the case.
It seems more to me that Joey was taken forcibly from Roy after Roy lost his wife in childbirth, and Roy lost his parental rights (maybe his wife's family took Joey from him and left him in a care home to spite Roy? Not too sure.)
If Roy abandoned Joey, he wouldn’t have invested so much time and energy in him.. he wouldn’t have become so angry at seeing Joey dead, nor would he have followed Joey around from home to home.
Roy was barred from directly being in Joey's life, but tried so hard to keep an eye on him, only for his son to be murdered in a very horrific way (hacked to pieces with an axe.)
No wonder Roy went nuts....
