just watched ep3 of cherry magic and while i absolutely loved the whole achi x karan pairing up exercise and then karan telling achi's story addition they made to the actual show, i just CANNOT ignore how they turned my aro-ace queen fujisaki san to pai who develops a crush on achi!!! this is aro-ace erasure!!!! like WHY would you do that!?!?! that was actually my favourite part about the og series, fujisaki expanding the meaning of love and adachi agreeing and supporting her along, that was the thing that moved me the most why the hell did they change that up in the thai version!?!? fujisaki is literally the only aro-ace character ive seen in queer or hetero dramas anywhere EVER i cant believe theyre taking this away from me. pls tell me achi is mistaken and that maybe pai just thinks he is cute like the sometimes actual baby he is!?!!? please please please!?!!? let us have this! like come on its literally not too much to ask she was always aro-ace in the source material why was there a need to change that up for some silly jealousy-love triangle situation-cmon gmmtv you're better than that!? pls!?!?

DANGANRONPA DRAG RACE
May the best drag queen survive!
(I initially called this Dragonronpa, but another Tumblr user called dibs on the name for their own AU - sorry for any confusion!)
This is a stupid idea, with an unspeakable amount of time and thought put into it, conceived solely by combining two things I like (Danganronpa and RuPaul's Drag Race). Obviously, I must share it!
--
Obviously, the host is a gender-swapped Junko Enoshima. The Ultimate Fashionista terrifies the contestants slightly more than RuPaul does, and she lives for juicy drama.
Judges and cast include:
Miu Iruma: the token aggressively heterosexual woman on the panel. Like Michelle Visage, she can dish. Unlike Michelle Visage, she can't take.
Teruteru Hanamura: his time to shine! The one place where the wannabe sophisticate's double entendres can be endearing rather than creepy.
Nekomaru Nidai: one of the speedo-clad assistants? The choreographer for any dance challenges? Why not both?
Guest judges include:
Sayaka Maizono: she's only here to cynically take advantage of her queer fanbase, but she enjoys seeing everyone dress up and the racers go crazy for her.
Tsumugi Shirogane: a huge fan of the show and she won't shut up! The Ultimate Cosplayer oversees a challenge where racers create outfits inspired by anime and fandom culture at large.
Contestants include:
Kokichi Ouma: a comedy queen who gags everyone every time. Strives for the villain edit because she knows who the audience will really remember after the winner is crowned, she knows who gets into All-Stars. The season really starts to drag once she's eliminated.
Gundham Tanaka: intimidating on the outset with impeccable gothic style, though secretly a sweetie. She's too unique to get far, but she parlays her newfound fame into a better turn on Dragula. Better yet, the mainstream exposure helps the freaks who'd love her style find her.
Hifumi Yamada: can't have Drag Race without a big girl strutting her stuff. Hifumi takes inspiration from her beloved magical girls, which may get notes for not branching out more but dazzle nonetheless.
Ultimate Impostor: when commanded to give a stage name after initially giving no name at all, they gag everyone and steal the name of previous winner Byakuya Togami. Guess who absolutely nails Snatch Game.
Korekiyo Shinguji: impressive fashion, impeccable make-up, imaginative results. A little unhinged, but witty and determined. A real contender for the crown. Let's just say the backstory from V3 isn't in this AU.
Chihiro Fujisaki: whether they see her as someone to protect or an easy target to knock out, every competitor thinks she's adorable. Like so many Drag Race contestants, she eventually identifies as trans.
... I talk about the post-show futures of these contestants, but I also enjoy the idea that instead of merely sashaying away, losers get Punishment Time. They literally need to lip-sync for their lives.
Alright, artists, there's your prompt

I decided to pick up the Chihayafuru manga, for two reasons - one, my rewatch was really freaking fun, and I'm no longer worried that I'm ruining my experience by not waiting for S4 - and two, I just can't bear not knowing what happens any longer. Some predictions for the last quarter of Chihayafuru, some sillier than others.
Taichi and Chihaya don't rejoin the club immediately, and the club goes to regionals without them. They win anyway.
Retro wins the individual Class B tournament at regionals to finally become Class A.
Taichi's mom turns out to not be a horrible person and is part of convincing him to go back to the club. So is Suou. He rejoins before Chihaya does.
Taichi and Chihaya are back for nationals and Mizusawa are favorites, but unexpectedly lose before reaching the finals due to drama and teamwork issues. The finals are between Fujisaki and Nagumo East. I don't know who wins.
I'm not sure who wins the individual tournament, but I think Arata loses in the finals, and somewhere during the tournament Chihaya turns down his confession, resulting in an arc of Arata Angst (after Taichi has been the resident edgelord for two and a half seasons).
Chihaya makes it all the way to the Queen match - no predictions on how that ends up. Rion beats Megumu in the Western qualifiers to be her opponent. By this point Shinobu and her are pretty good friends.
Taichi, not Arata, is the one who gets Suou to stop being the master. Though I'm not sure that'll be in the Master match - I could easily see Suou losing in a practice match and deciding to give up. Or Taichi's incipient friendship with him makes him realize something else he'd rather spend his life on than karuta.
Taichi wins the Eastern qualifiers for master, and plays Arata in a match which involves heavy symbolism about them fighting for Chihaya's heart - again.
Chihaya ends up with Taichi, somehow. Arata ends up with Yuu from his hometown, probably, but I could see him with Shinobu too. I could see Chihaya easily ending up with Arata too, honestly, but I have to make a prediction. Hanano needs to step up her game to be seen as a plausible love interest.
Komano and Kana get together long before Chihaya figures any of that out.
Presumably there's some romantic drama with the first-years too. I bet Midori is either a rival for Kana, or she somehow decides Tsukuba is attractive.
Other than the main trio, Kana is the only main character to seriously stick with karuta after graduation. Suou gives it up entirely as his eyes deteriorate; Shinobu retires after the queen match whether she wins or loses, and only later in adulthood comes back to playing competitively, but she often plays matches for fun with her friend Chihaya.
Hanano is the next club president.
Chitose finally says something that isn't egotistical.
Nishida and Arata have a heart-to-heart about something.
Shinobu's grandmother finally shows something resembling warmth.
Harada embraces his status as a brown bear and makes an appearance in Golden Kamuy S4. There are no survivors.

Im celebrating the movie, the 9 and 10 volume releases and the Volume 4 translation!!!
thinking of the ways the manga characters are different from their drama counterparts. the changes are small and they're kinda hard to explain.
so here's me giving it a shot
adachi in general is a very ordinary protagonist where his main traits is his introvertesness and the fact that over his life he has had trouble connecting with people. I actually find that adachi being a 30 y/o virgin is completely believable as one of his character traits. unlike other manga where the introverted character somehow gets from 0 friends to a harem in less than a school year.
drama adachi: low self esteem, introverted, likes to make himself small in order to disappear, easily overwhelmed and skittish.
manga adachi: introverted, shy, kinda living in a daze, likes to blend in into the background to not get the attention of people, calm is his more immediate state of being but internally overthinks.
kurosawa in general is a very simple character actually, a handsome guy who got a crush. his complexity comes from how he behaves in relation to adachi.
drama kurosawa: makes it a point to be as warm and kind as he's able to, even in his own mind. Bothered by the superficiality of others, effortlessly charming which helps his sales career. Capable of seven years of yearning in order to not overwhelm adachi with his feelings and also anxious of the consequences of acting on them. patient as fuck but his charismatic persona sometimes cracks because of adachi (be it buying a pajama never meant to be worn or breaking at the izakaya). his happiness comes from being able to be himself alongside adachi.
manga kurosawa: determined to fulfill his duty, respectful mannered gentleman, gives himself free range to fantasize about adachi, incredibly loyal to adachi with only two years of yearning, or for better use of words obsessed with adachi lol, but still keeping himself in check to not cross any lines. his happiness is adachi period.
minato and tsuge appear so little in the manga lol which I think affected how they got written in the drama also there's only four volumes translated sooo... minato barely appears. I do think both characters were miscast/badly styled in the drama but the actors did what they could to work with the character dynamics
tsuge in general is serious and stoic, so very perceptive of the world around him that he barely feels what's inside him. looks and acts mature, probably since his teens.
drama tsuge: feels his maturity is his main trait but loses control completely, his heart suddenly overpowers his brain , common sense thrown out the window but still very aware that he's being affected by minato, cartoonishly overreacted for comedy. the actor really gives oldie vibes despite him being 28/29 when he filmed the show
manga tsuge: he appears in very few scenes, he's got exaggerated reactions to convey how fast and how hard he's falling, but he's so out of touch with his feelings that he doesn't even notice that he's in love till adachi points it out.
minato in general is a stubborn and dedicated character. supposed to be tough exterior but soft inside, same age as rokkaku.
drama minato: the actor looks teenaged despite being 22, really childish young and cute presence, that kinda overpowers the fact that he's supposed to be giving punky ¹vibes.
manga minato: cute only when around tsuge, there's not alot of him of what I've read. contrasts tsuge’s exterior seriousness with his jovial emotional outbursts.
fujisaki is an odd character to talk about bc she's the most different from both adaptations. basically their converging points are that they're very perceptive, captains of the kurodachi ship and a compulsory heterosexuality moment for adachi
drama fujisaki: baited as a romantic rival, but plot twist, she's an ace queen. she's the support system, the "lgbt move in herds" representation, the cold head and wise friend.
manga fujisaki: she's the comedy buffer in between kurosawas confession and adachi's. a misunderstanding that leads to adachi realizing his feelings while her being full fujoshi behind the scenes, all bc she noticed kurosawas jealousy. After the stellar portrayal by Sato Ryo from the drama, Toyota sensei is writing her now in a more nuanced way. she's the only one to notice adachi glowing and rocking his wedding ring, while all the attention on the office still goes to kurosawa, she's still a fujo but now more of an ally. her perceptiveness is now framed in a less objectifying way. looks like in the future she'll be part of the kurodachi support system.
oh finally, rokkaku, little hexagon boy. Now him is the most similar between drama and manga i think? In general he’s an enthusiastic newbie in the office but he’s hip and cool which helps him being the future ace of sales, Too focused on being a good worker that everything else slips by him. Pure of heart dumb of ass and a lil extra chain to connect minato and tsuge to the rest of the office gang.
manga rokkaku: took time to get warm towards adachi. kindness recognizes kindness so adachi was not ignored for long. Rokkaku knows adachi’s value in the company but also notices how his senpai kurosawa orbits adachi as if he was the ace’s secret trump card. His dancer background gives him very cool vibes and appereance.
Drama rokkaku: Loyal apprentice of Kurosawa, his Friends and senpais come first and forremost which gives him a biased perspective on life so his conclusions are sometimes a lil off. Homophobe slayer, king of allies.

I feel so bad for Michi. Not only does he lose another brother, but he has to be told about why Mondo was executed and the lie he told the gang. Would he ever forgive him?
ANGST TIME! USE YOUR DISCRETION! dark themes ahead - canonical character death, injury and pink blood
Takemichi is smart, and more than that he knows the brothers. I've no doubt that he never took the accident at face value, never quite believed the narrative that Daiya got greedy and stupid and lost his life over it, but I don't think the would have realised the extent of Mondo's secrecy. Discovering the truth, and what Mondo was willing to do to run from it would be a cold, devastating shock to the system. But worse than that, Takemichi knows that had Mondo ever revealed the lie to him or the gang before the tragedy, He might not have been able to forgive him. Might not have been able to be there for Mondo the way he needed him, and Takemichi hates himself for it. Because now, he'd do anything, forgive anything if it meant he could have Mondo and the Diamonds back.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[from one of my angst comics] When Takaaki and Takemichi first cross paths in the demon hunting game, Takaaki was less than lucid - injured, paranoid, angry and a hair's breadth from giving into despair, latching onto Takemichi as a facsimile of his son was something of a defense mechanism. He moved beyond that quite quickly, bolstered by just how different Michi was compared to Taka, but still would suffer lapses of judgment after the more gruelling days. Once the game is over, and Takaaki has regained what little stability he could, he no longer gets the boys confused, but it takes longer for him to realise quite how much of his behaviour Michi had internalised.
Tumblr media
@mypeacockfeathers (!!Takaaki connoisseur is HIGH PRAISE!! :D) Taichi surviving the game would definitely throw Takaaki for a loop. He knows the too kind, too trusting, too soft Taichi might be better off if he passed away, his injuries life altering and the world a nightmare; but Takaaki desperately wants him to live. He'd hate to admit it but he wants Taichi to survive for the small comfort to know there's someone, just one who might share Takaaki's pain, the loss of their child. Almost as a penance for the self-centred desire to be understood Takaaki takes it upon himself to tell Taichi of Chihiro's fate once he has healed enough to bear it, and he keeps a vigil so that he does not have to wake up alone.
---
Takaaki would hold no grudge against Fujiko, but he would also make no effort to reach out preferring to keep to himself and the very few that he instils any trust into (really only Takemichi, Taichi and Hiro. Hiroko is another matter since she has trouble forgiving any loss of life, and struggles to come to terms with the deaths that occured at Takaaki's hands whilst surviving the game) Fujiko in turn would find Takaaki absolutely terrifying and would avoid him at all costs. If they could bridge that gap, they might get along, but it also might take more effort than it's worth.
Tumblr media
(GODDAMN @hawklanthebard , you are genuinely responsible for a decent chunk of my angst content XD) (EDIT: [EXCELLENT FIC OF THIS CONCEPT])
Oh boy, Takaaki would never forgive him. He might even do something he'd regret. . . ON A LIGHTER NOTE; I don't believe Mondo would ever have the forethought to check for a pulse, especially when he's panicking - maybe Taka is totally fine! . . . maybe. . .
Tumblr media
in reference to the asks under the read more of [this post]
we really just gonna put Takaaki through the wringer ain't we
Tumblr media
Haiji as a counterpart to Takaaki works far better than I'd like: Takaaki: a good man who has had to do bad things, and Haiji: a bad man who just so happens to have done good things (of course Dangan, you coulda done ANYTHING ELSE to have made it clear Haiji was a wrong'un but you had to go and make him a NONCE)
As such, unfortunately, when it comes to imprisonment with no evidence of the crime, it comes down to their own consciences to condemn them. Although Takaaki would stand by his actions and, if he had to do everything over again might even have repeated them; he would not refute his crimes. Even though he believes them absolutely necessary, if demanded of him, he would serve his punishment since he would be weighed down in a way that Haiji never would be.
In a world of despair, it's not those who actually deserve to be punished that get their just rewards (and lord knows Haiji bloody deserves it)
---
You're absolutely right; Takaaki's life has been a constant battle against a rising tide and when that dam bursts, the one thing that's been holding him together- anything getting in the way of the torrent that's unleashed, would be cataclysmic. It's just as well none of the Warriors of Hope actually had the misfortune to find him.
---
You have my apologies my good anon! But it hurts so good: Like a nut-shot to the HEART
(previous set of angst asks [under this illustration])

The fact that such characters don't often appear in dramas has given the feeling that people like Fujisaki-san are "non-existent" in society.

got tagged in this cherry magic meme and i figured i'd do it..... like after ten years, what the hell sushi
1. Favorite character
i go on and on about kurosawa, but do not be fooled. adachi kiyoshi is my favorite and i'll defend him for the entirety of my life. i’ll be 80 and my siblings’ grandchildren will be all “grandma who is adachi” and i’ll be like “he’s the best boy” and they’ll be like “go to sleep grandma you’re regressing again”
2. Character you relate to the most
i'd say adachi bc of the anxiety but i relate to tsuge a lot! mostly his go-getter attitude, and how he has the tendency to admit his feelings as soon as possible. but then again i'm aro now, so maybe fujisaki-san really is my queen. she has the best choice in nail polish too!
3. Favorite quote from the series
this isn't from the drama, but my favorite quote is from the manga, where kurosawa says: "if adachi's firsts were all with me, i would definitely treasure each one."
the way i cried, my friends
4. Favorite moment in the show
can i just say everything. it's hard to choose omg. i guess one of the things that truly fucked me up was the sudden shift in episode 6 where kurosawa goes on about how precious adachi is to him and how he berates himself for almost losing the self-control he has been keeping for the past 7 years. mostly bc it wasn't truly explored in the manga, and the way machi portrayed it was so telling of the extent of kurosawa's feelings.
5. A character you think is underrated
udon-chan. i needed more of her and she must get her own show where she is voice acted by tonomi mineuchi. just because.
6. Which character would you absolutely be friends with
adachi, i think! i relate to his love of art, stationary, and just his general outlook in life, no matter how grim it could get. (for that, i'll be there for him!) he also has manga shelves i'd like to check out! maybe we can go out and check out the desserts around the city. i like sweets too mmmm
7. The moment that you fell in love with the show
definitely the scarf scene. i was gonna keep watching it regardless because the premise was interesting, but the scarf scene had me tearing up. it was beautiful, and with how awful 2020 was, the scene felt so comforting.
8. Top so-soft-it-might-be-illegal moment
one of the softest scenes, and probably one of the most underrated, is when kurosawa was helping adachi with the wound on his palm. other than the fact that kurosawa was so gentle with adachi, it also helps adachi understand that maybe they're not so different after all. just overall wholesomeness.
9. Favorite hands-are-for-the-gays moment
Tumblr media
everyone shut up
10. Favorite Kurosawa making heart eyes moment
Tumblr media
kurosawa: you’re doing amazing sweetie
11. Favorite Adachi x Kurosawa moment (i.e. when they invented tenderness)?
Tumblr media
this one ;u; no one talks about how this was a mutual hug after kurosawa falls in love even more with adachi, and adachi realizes that he really likes kurosawa. it’s such a genuine reaction to feeling loved, yknow?
also u can see how sonnu breaks character in this and that’s always fun
12. Favorite friendship moment
i like the scene where rokkaku was listening to minato talk about tsuge! i wish we saw more of them, honestly; i feel like their dynamic is super cute, and also points to the possibility that minato is the only one who keeps rokkaku that quiet. HAHA
13. Favorite overall episode
this is hard, but it's a toss up between episode 1 and 2! episode 1 was good at setting the premise, but episode 2 set the boundaries pretty well. we find out the extent of kurosawa’s feelings, but manage to see how much he’s willing to pursue it. we also see adachi starting to think about how he feels about the entire thing!
14. Top LMAO moment
Tumblr media Tumblr media
comedy gold
15. A moment you could live without
Tumblr media
STRAIGHT UP H O M O P H O B I A
16. One thing you’d change about the show
everyone has said it i think but the kiss scene, i guess. they could have done it! i’m so sure!
17. Someone you got to know because of the show or someone whose posts/works you enjoyed seeing in the tags
the entire tag of cherry magic has been such a delight!! everyone’s so talented wtf. how dare you all.
i’ve also discovered lots of korean artists in twitter bc of this show, and they are all so great. can i have some of yalls talent pls. (to specify: cheerrydada, _yammay, cafeMAHO, PaNoha_0605, etc.)
18. Describe the show in 3 words
please watch cherimaho
19. One moment from CM that always stays with you
general gist: adachi’s kindness, with or without the magic. he draws people in with his kindness. kurosawa fell for him because of it.
i just wish he was as kind to himself as he was to others, but yknow, he’s getting there!
TAGGING WHOEVER WANTS TO DO THIS. CAN YOU SEE THIS? I TAG YOU. no escape. one of us. one of us. one of us. one of us.

Cherry Moon anon.
I didn’t get any work done but I finished all 12 episodes already :(((((( (not the specials though) I love this show sooo much. Every character being a disaster is a mood. I’ve never felt so seen before. Tsuge is a bigger disaster than any other character imo
Kurosawa taking care of Adachi when he was sick. Catching Adachi before he fell! He stayed by Adachi’s bedside, not sleeping, feeding him. Kurosawa being jealous of Rokkaku. Kurosawa not pushing Adachi. Him taking their relationship incredibly slow because he knows Adachi is uncomfortable, needs time adjust to change, and a virgin who hasn’t done anything before. I love this man!! New comfort character unlocked :’)
I love how they didn’t make Fujisaki out to be evil or the woman in the way. She was so supportive and kind and just ugh!!! She owns my heart.
Tsuage and Adachi being the best of friends :) Talking telepathically :)
Tsuge and Minato ❤️ When Tsuage passed out sjbshdhhehw
ANOTHER ROOFTOP. THE PENS. THE FIREWORKS. HOLDING HANDS.
I love every character and that never happens.
i’m sorry you didn’t get any work done!! but i’m really glad you like the drama!!!! 🥰🥰🥰
akkskaksksks yes for such a wild premise, cherry magic is full of relatable and sincere characters that we can’t help but feel really close to 🥺
KUROSAWA WRITING POETRY ABOUT ADACHI 🥺🥺🥺🥺 “my boyfriend” is still the best thing ever 🤣🤣🤣🤣 pls he’s such a loving person.
new comfort character 🥺🥺🥺 love that for you!! cherry magic is my comfort show so i definitely relate alskskksks
fujisaki-san our queen!!!!!!!! she’s written with so much care, which is very rare and we appreciate that a lot!!!
telepathic besties while kurosawa stares in confusion 🤣🤣🤣🤣 ahhhh so funny!!!
yes to everything!! i really like the fireworks scene and how it only happened because now adachi has friends, a support group for good and bad times. he was so lonely in the beginning!! and now he has a lil family ❤️💙
it is indeed very rare to love everyone but this show is a blessing 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
i’m glad you enjoyed it!! the specials are very good as well!!! and soon we’ll get the movie so we stay winning!!!

CHERRY MAGIC TIMELINE (DRAMA CANON)
I rewatched Cherry Magic over the last couple days as one does and thought it’d be fun to keep track of the dates/when things happen. For the most part it’s very easy as there are several very specific dates mentioned in the show.
You might notice several Saturdays where they’re at work-- this seems to be pretty standard in Japanese office culture, to work a couple Saturdays a month.
You also might notice a very major time jump that would have happened between Episodes 10 and 11-- I could write this off as a suspension of disbelief type thing, but since there are so many specific dates referenced in the show, and going off Adachi’s pain at keeping his secret from Kurosawa for so long in Ep 11 I think it might be accurate. Please let me know if I missed anything!! :)
Sometime in 2013 - Adachi and Kurosawa are both hired at Toyokawa. The dinner with President Matsuura happens and Kurosawa falls in love with the first person who's ever told him he's more than a pretty face.
Feb 14 2020 - Kurosawa gives Adachi some free chocolate he got off the street.
Oct 1 2020 - Urabe teases Adachi for never having had a girlfriend, tells him of the urban legend of becoming a 30 y/o virgin wizard.
Fri Oct 2 - Adachi's 30th birthday, he discovers his powers.
Fri Oct 9: this is the day the episode aired, and it also works with the timeline in later episodes - Adachi bumps into Kurosawa in the elevator and discovers his feelings. That night Kurosawa offers to help Adachi with his extra work, they're there so late Adachi misses the last train and Kurosawa insists Adachi stay over at his place. We get scarf wrapping, geeking out over manga, Kurosawa fantasising about Adachi in his jammies, neither of them can sleep.
Sat Oct 10 - Kurosawa makes them breakfast. At the office Kurosawa scolds Urabe for putting down Adachi's work. At the end of the day Kurosawa offers some files to help Adachi with the extra work Urabe gave him. Adachi chases after him and asks him out for dinner, but Rokkaku interrupts before they can go and tells them to come out drinking. We get Kurosawa lamenting over the lost date, Adachi helping out Rokkaku, The King's Game drama. Adachi goes to comfort Kurosawa and we have Kurosawa being sad and gay and Adachi assuring him he's just an anxious virgin and Rokkaku interrupts an almost kiss.
Oct 11-Oct 25 - Adachi avoids Kurosawa.
Mon Oct 26 - Urabe asks Adachi and Fujisaki to go buy desserts, they talk about love and life, and are harrassed on the way back to the office. Kurosawa comes to the rescue. Adachi discovers Fujisaki is the aroace queen of our dreams. Kurosawa patches up Adachi’s hand. Kurosawa has trouble with a big client and Adachi uses his power to help. Kurosawa thanks him and gives him a couple mochi cakes as thanks. Rokkaku invites Adachi for lunch, giving him a bunch of food and snacks in thanks for his help at drinks a couple weeks ago. As the two are leaving work that night they see a beautiful woman run up to Kurosawa and beg to stay the night with him. Adachi walks home in the rain and falls asleep in his wet clothes in a fit of despair.
Tue Oct 27 - Adachi is sick all day, and goes to leave work early. Kurosawa notices and insists on taking him home, and as they’re getting into a taxi the woman from the night before jumps in. She turns out to be Kurosawa’s sister and demands to stay over at Kurosawa’s again, making him go home with Adachi to care for him. Kurosawa spends the whole night nursing Adachi back to health.
Wed Oct 28: Kurosawa directly references the date, and it retroactively works for all the previous dates - Kurosawa makes Adachi porridge, and the “day one of our private sweet life!” fantasy. Rokkaku interrupts again, and asks to join Kurosawa and Adachi for the night. We get Kurosawa being adorably jealous, Adachi being a very sweet and supportive friend. Kurosawa thinks about how special Adachi is to him and wonders what he’s doing to himself and leaves in the middle of the night.
Thurs Oct 29 - Adachi is worried over Kurosawa leaving early and his distance throughout the day. As they leave the office Adachi awkwardly talks about how he’s never had anyone to take care of him other than family, and Kurosawa tells him he can’t stay with Adachi anymore. He confesses his feelings and claims the next time they see each other everything will be back to normal.
Fri Oct 30: When Adachi is confessing, he mentions “yesterday” so this does happen the next day - Kurosawa is away in Osaka for the day and reflects over his history with Adachi, and how he has to let go of his feelings. Adachi realizes how much he enjoys Kurosawa’s company and how he’s always thinking about him, and runs to meet Kurosawa on his way home. He confesses his feelings and they hug and we all cry, and as they walk home Adachi asks if he wants to go out to eat and Kurosawa teases him about going to his place.
Sat Oct 31 - Kurosawa bought a one-way ticket to flirt city this morning. He finds Adachi in the break room and asks him to spend the day together tomorrow.
Sun Nov 1 - Tsuge shows up at Adachi’s right before Kurosawa, and we have some prime clown to clown communication while Tsuge talks about how he agreed to go watch Minato dance. Kurosawa suggests they all go and we get: Tsuge being awkward around his crush, Kurosawa and Adachi giggling over Tsuge being awkward around his crush, a fight and Kurosawa blanking out for a solid four seconds over being called ossan. We get some more clown to clown communication, Adachi and Kurosawa walking home and having a very sweet conversation about taking things step by step, Tsuge catches Minato’s friend kissing him and runs away.
Tue Nov 10: Adachi refers to how they’ve been dating for 9 days - Kurosawa apparently stayed the night and they played video games together aww, they have a goofy morning together being in love. Urabe points out how happy Adachi is lately. Kurosawa and Adachi share onigiri for lunch and Rokkaku interrupts again. As they’re leaving the break room Kurosawa asks Adachi to have another go at their date this coming weekend and they see the poster for the design competition. Rokkaku later finds Adachi and angrily asks him to contact Tsuge. That night after work Adachi, Kurosawa, and Rokkaku meet Tsuge at a coffee shop and Rokkaku immediately starts a fight with Tsuge over his apparent homophobia, since he’s been avoiding Minato ever since he caught him kissing his ex. Tsuge assures them he has been avoiding Minato but not because he’s gay, and runs off to find Minato and they confess to each other, and later that evening have sex. As Kurosawa and Adachi walk home Kurosawa gives him the forms to sign up for the design competition, saying he’ll be rooting for him if he gives it a try. Adachi says Kurosawa has given him the confidence to try and they hug.
Wed Nov 11 - Rokkaku thanks Adachi for his help with Tsuge and Minato. Adachi hands in his application for the design competition.
Sometime in the next couple days - Adachi and Kurosawa go for coffee after work where Adachi apologizes for how much of his time the competition will take, and Kurosawa says their date can wait, but he’ll be expecting a reward later. Tsuge calls Adachi to gush over his relationship with Minato and tell Adachi not to be afraid of losing his magic, and Adachi starts to really think about being intimate with Kurosawa.
Sat Nov 14: Adachi mentions how there’s only three days until the deadline for his proposal. On the application form, it says the proposals are due by 5pm Nov 17th - Adachi shows his ideas to Fujisaki and Kurosawa, but Rokkaku calls it boring. Kurosawa tells him not to worry about it, that inspiration sometimes comes from nowhere.
Sun Nov 15 - Adachi and Kurosawa are hanging out at Adachi’s place, and they talk about the expectations of other people. Kurosawa suggests they get out to clear their heads and have a “practise date”. We get the sweetest montage of them having fun at Tokyo Dome, and then when Adachi gets sick Kurosawa privately worries about not being able to always keep Adachi happy. That night Adachi finishes his project proposal.
Mon Nov 16: Adachi refers to their date as “yesterday” - Adachi hands in his proposal, and asks Kurosawa to have another practice date with him that evening. He takes them to the bookstore and izakaya, and Adachi shows Kurosawa his proposal. They have a conversation about communication and how they should be able to relax around each other. As they are walking home Adachi accidentally responds to Kurosawa’s thoughts and thinks about how if Kurosawa knew they couldn’t be together in the same way anymore.
Sun Dec 13: This one is mostly speculation, but I feel it works as the conversation between Adachi and Tsuge is so fresh in his mind the next day, and Adachi also refers to Tsuge’s problems when they see each other on Christmas Eve - Tsuge and Adachi get lunch and Tsuge talks about his relationship troubles, and warns Adachi about not relying too much on his power.
Mon Dec 14: Kurosawa mentions how they have a week to prepare for Adachi’s presentation - Adachi has passed into the second phase of the design competition, and Kurosawa promises to spend all their time special training for his presentation. Adachi apologizes for how much of Kurosawa’s time he’s taking up, but Kurosawa assures him it will all be worth it to enjoy their “first Christmas together and the best date ever”.
Dec 16/17/18 - Montage of the two of them preparing for Adachi’s presentation. It’s also at some point during this week Kurosawa talks to Fujisaki about a restaurant for his date with Adachi.
Mon Dec 21 - Also known as Kurosawa and Adachi’s Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. Kurosawa gives Adachi a bento reminding him to believe in himself, Adachi uses his power to connect with the planning and development committee and then feels guilty for cheating and then doesn’t pass anyway. Adachi tells Kurosawa about his powers and then admits he doesn’t know if he’ll be able to be in a relationship with him if he doesn’t have them, and they break up :(
Dec 22/23 - Kurosawa and Adachi are very sad and literally everybody knows. Urabe and Fujisaki both have conversations with Adachi about being happy/true to himself.
Thurs Dec 24 - Tsuge goes to see Adachi and tells him that he has to learn to communicate with the people he loves, even if it’s hard. Adachi races off to meet Kurosawa, they reconcile and hug and Kurosawa asks Adachi to be his office pal for life and fireworks go off and everyone’s cryin’.
Fri Dec 25 - First day of the rest of their private sweet life!!
Sometime over the next couple months - Rokkaku tries to suss out what Adachi and Kurosawa’s relationship and determines they’re just really good senpais to him... truly pure of heart, dumb of ass. Tsuge and Minato have a misunderstanding and then talk it out.
Feb 14 2021 - Kurosawa is in a jealous fit all day over himself, and then he and Adachi exchange true love chocolate <3

Day 20 - Favourite Supporting Character.
Top 2!
1. Techno (LBC and Tharntype)
Tumblr media
Is this really a surprise to anyone? I love Techno, he is sweet, a great friend and a very funny character.
2. Fujisaki (Cherry Magic)
Tumblr media
This queen is one of my favourite characters in a BL ever! Not only was she not an aggressive persurer (like you sometimes see in BL dramas), but she was supportive as f**k of Kurosawa/Adachi! I also head-canon that she’s asexual, so who knows, maybe that’s why i like her so much :)

Word (Mikoto Asou).
Alternative: Kotonoha (ASOU Mikoto), Koto no wa, ことのは, 话语寄情, Kotonoha
Description : This is a series of 4 one-shots by Asou Mikoto that all have a common theme of words and language. Kotonoha ~Usuyou no Tsukebumi~ : Maeda Kotoha joined the calligraphy club at her highschool b/c she was impressed by the club president Fujisaki's demonstration. Unable to gather up her courage to confess her feelings, he graduates. Feeling regret, Kotoha decides to write him a letter using a brush and traditional paper... Kotonoha ~Ningyohime no Kowairo~ : Manabe, a cool ice queen type of girl, in Fukazawa Tatsuhiro's class joins the swim team even though she can't swim. Intrigued, Fukazawa decides to teach her, but wonders why she wants to learn so badly... Kotonoha ~Tenjousajiki no Naishobanashi~ : Mihara Ritsu is a playwright for her school's drama club. Nakajima is an underclassmen who joins the club because he was moved by the lead actress Seto Miyabi's words in the final scene of last year's production. This year, Ritsu must write a play that stars both of them, but as usual, writing does not happen easily... Kotonoha ~Shijin no Koi~ : It all started when Sako accidentally picked up Kumazawa's book of poetry and secretly read what she wrote. A lot of it was humorous, but some poems were serious, particularly the ones that poignantly expressed her feelings about a certain classmate... #MangaReddit.com, #ReadFreeMangaOnline Read Free Manga Online at MangaReddit.com: https://mangareddit.com/p/word-mikoto-asou_1584398361.html

Bookshelf Briefs 1/14/19
After Hours, Vol. 3 | By Yuhta Nishio | Viz Media – The scenes in this book of the rave, before, after and during, as well as what comes next, are fantastic, and the volume is worth picking up for that reason alone. That said, the romance in this third volume is the weak point. Kei abruptly disappears from Emi’s life right as Emi is ready to move into Kei’s life permanently, and while the family issues that Kei has to deal with are understandable, the author seems to think it’s 1959 and not 2019. You have phones! The journey by bus is a long one, but completely doable! There is no need for the ambiguous “maybe ever after” of this ending. That said, overall I found this series highly enjoyable, and if they want to do a sequel with Emi alone running raves, I’m cool with that too. – Sean Gaffney
Chihayafuru, Vol. 14 | By Yuki Suetsugu | Kodansha Comics (digital only) – Mizusawa has made it to the semi-finals of the national tournament, facing a team led by Megumu Ousaka, a candidate for Queen. Although Chihaya ultimately loses against her, she makes quite the impression on her opponent and others, causing one observer to think, “I never knew another girl this good existed.” I loved that it’s Desk-kun who seals the team’s ultimate victory, but less than an hour later, they’re facing formidable opponents in the finals. Fujisaki is full of Class A players but Chihaya’s opponent has an additional advantage: her grandmother is the reciter and she’s especially attuned to her nuances. Tense, fun, addictive, emotionally rewarding… I always want more when I get current with this series. – Michelle Smith
Kuroko’s Basketball, Vol. 29-30 | By Tadatoshi Fujimaki | Viz Media – In Japan, sports manga tend to have varying endings, with either the team winning it all or losing in the semis and resolving to try harder. North America tends to see a lot more of the former, so hope you like our heroes winning. It’s as well-handled as you’d expect, and I really enjoyed the development shown in Kuroko, Kagami, and Akashi here. There’s also a nice epilogue where Riko reminds us there’s a new tournament in the Spring, and they have to recruit! But for now let’s enjoy both their victory and the fact that the old Miracle Generation have mostly resolved their differences. The last shot has the old middle school picture balanced with his high school team, which is lovely to see. Do we get the sequel? – Sean Gaffney
Lovesick Ellie, Vol. 7 | By Fujimomo | Kodansha Comics (digital only) – Last time, I was a little worried that drama fueled by misunderstandings would become the norm for Lovesick Ellie, but I’m happy to report that no longer seems to be the case. While it is true that Ellie’s classmates get the wrong idea about her relationship with Kaname and Ohmi is freaked out by this rival, never at any point does Ohmi think she’s actually cheating on him. In fact, he opens up to Kaname about his insecurities, potentially making a friend in the process, and takes a good look at the kind of boyfriend Kaname could’ve been to her that he presently can’t be. With his focus on acting how other people expect, and remaining the other girls’ princely ideal, he’s never acknowledged Ellie as his girlfriend. Now, he’s ready for people to know how special she is to him. I’m so glad this series is back on track! – Michelle Smith
Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic, Vol. 33 | By Shinobu Ohtaka | Viz Media – I will admit the high point of Magi for me was the resolution of my ship, and the rest is just gravy. (Though I did enjoy the naive Alibaba being horrified at having a fight with Morgiana—that seems to have lasted five seconds.) But yeah, Sinbad’s still trying to make the world be at peace, and his methods are growing more and more horrible, as Kou’s dramatic cessation from the Alliance causes him to challenge God and emerge with the “it’s OK if I just mind control everyone to see it my way” solution. Sadly, Aladdin does not see this as anything but despotism. Aladdin is right, of course, but this is still Alibaba’s title, so he gets to mediate between these two. Mob Psycho 100, Vol. 1 | By One | Dark Horse – There were several reasons why I was interested in reading Mob Psycho 100, the two most prominent being that One is the original creator of One-Punch Man (which I have been greatly enjoying) and that there was so much excitement surrounding the Mob Psycho 100 anime (which I still need to watch). But the main reason that I’ll continue to read Mob Psycho 100 is that I absolutely loved the first volume. Shigeo is a young man with superhuman powers which he tends to control by suppressing his emotions. Life being life, and middle school being middle school, there’s only so much he can bottle up before exploding. His mentor is Reigen, a spirit medium whose only extraordinary skill seems to be the ability to somehow convince others that he’s a legitimate exorcist despite all evidence to the contrary. Mob Psycho 100 is terrific, with a great sense of quirky humor and heart. – Ash Brown
Queen’s Quality, Vol. 6 | By Kyousuke Motomi | Viz Media – The volumes of Queen’s Quality seem to alternate between characters saying that Fumi is too weak and characters saying Kyutaro is too weak, and this time around it’s the latter, as he really gets put through the ringer here. The training they have to take on may involve some unsettling looks at Fumi’s background and heritage, which to be fair we’ve known was coming since the first volume. I admit I am somewhat surprised by Ataru’s promotion to sidekick-type character, but he serves it well, though there’s also a nasty flashback to his past I’m sure he’d rather do without. This wasn’t the best volume of Queen’s Quality, but that’s likely as it was transitional, and it’s still pretty solid. – Sean Gaffney
The Water Dragon’s Bride, Vol. 8 | By Rei Toma | VIZ Media – Asahi’s time as a captive in the underworld is brief, though it does afford us a few nice scenes in which the worried Water Dragon God is trying to find her. Instead, most of the volume is focused on Kurose, a boy from our world who seems to have become the plaything of Tokoyami, the god of the underworld. Kurose had a horrible home life and after potentially dying, he wakes in the underworld and is promptly whisked off to a village where he experiences kindness and a loving family for the first time. That is, until war comes and the Water Dragon God refuses to notice his desperation to save someone he cares about. I’m left to wonder… did this all really happen, or was Tokoyami mentally torturing him to create an ally in a vendetta against the Water Dragon God? Very intriguing! – Michelle Smith
The Water Dragon’s Bride, Vol. 8 | By Rei Toma | Viz Media – There was a surprising swerve in this volume. After dealing with rescuing Asahi from turning into a rotting zombie, and seeing the Water Dragon God have to deal with these pesky things called feelings, the rest of the volume is devoted to sketching out the tragic backstory of Kurose, the mini-villain from the end of the last volume. Not only is he merely a useful puppet to the true Big Bad, but he’s also a lot closer to Asahi than she might suspect, and has a suitably tragic backstory—in more than one world. I was expecting the adorable little girl he befriends to be horrible killed, and she is, but that may not be the end for her, unfortunately. Riveting. – Sean Gaffney
