CHAPTER THREE OF GLITZ AND GLAMOR
The Ruins
After waiting for a while, you decided enough was enough and went to look for Toriel.
As soon as you left the room, you got a call from her.
"Hello? This is Toriel. You have not left the room, have you?"
You stayed quiet. "....no."
"Good. There are a few puzzles ahead I have yet to explain. It would be dangerous for you to solve them without my help. Thank you for being patient."
You continued further down the path after she hung up and encountered a froggit.
You choose to act and compliment the froggit, keeping Toriel's advice in mind.
This was how all of your battles went.
While walking through the ruins, you solved many puzzles. Some of which were a little complicated but you eventually figured them out.
You even ran into a ghost.
His name was Napstablook and he was a very sweet ghost. A little sad though, but you helped cheer him up.
After "fighting" Napstablook, you bought a spider donut and carried on.
As you walked through the ruins, you kept receiving calls from Toriel.
She still had no idea that you left the room.
After completing a very challenging puzzle, you finally saw a tall black tree and a cute little house.
"That took longer than I expected." You heard Toriel say as she walked out of the house.
She walked around the tree and saw you. "My child!"
She ran over to you and held you by your shoulders.
"How do you get here? Are you hurt?"
"No, I'm okay." You said, lying because you were down to 10 hp.
She saw right through your lie and smiled. "There, there. I will heal you."
A green light began to glow beneath her hand and you were instantly healed.
You were back to 20 hp.
"I apologize, my child." She said. "I should not have left you alone for so long. It was irresponsible of me to try to surprise you like this."
"Surprise me?" You said.
She paused, then laughed. "Oh well. I suppose I cannot hide it any longer. Come inside, my child."
She took your hand again and led you inside her house.
"Do you smell that?" She asked.
"Yeah I do. It smells great. What is it?"
"A butterscotch and cinnamon pie! I would like to celebrate your arrival. After all, I want you to have a nice time living here."
"Living here?" You asked.
"Yes!" She said. "Come along now. Let me show you your room."
She showed you a red room and gave you a little pat on the head, then she left because her pie had started to burn.
When she left you alone, you decided to take a little nap.
You were tired from all the walking you did.
•
When you woke up again, the lights were out and there was a slice of pie on the floor.
You picked up the slice of pie and put it in your inventory.
You sighed.
As appreciative you were of all of this, you still needed to get out of here.
You went to find Toriel and found her reading a book in her chair.
"Up already, my child?"
You nodded. "Toriel, I need to talk to you."
"Of course my child." She said, putting her book down. "Whatever is the matter?"
"I want to go home."
She looked startled. "What? This...this is your home now."
"Here, how about this? Would you like to hear about the book I'm reading? It is called "72 uses for snails". Pretty interesting huh?"
"How do I get home?"
"...would you like to hear a snail fact? Did you know that snails make terrible shoelaces? Pretty neat huh?"
"How do I exit the ruins?"
She stayed quiet and stood up.
"....I have to do something. Stay here."
She left the room and walked down some stairs.
You followed her.
"You wish to return home, do you not?" She asked. "Ahead of us lies the end of the ruins. I am going to destroy it, no one will ever be able to leave again. Now be a good girl and go upstairs."
She kept walking but stopped again when she knew you were still following her.
"Every human that falls down here meets the same fate. I have seen it again and again. They come. They leave. They die. You naive little girl. If you leave the ruins. They...asgore...will kill you. I am only protecting you. Do you understand?....Go to your room."
You ignored her and followed her again.
"This is your final warning." She said as she was about to turn a corner. "Do not try to stop me."
You followed her to a door at the end of the hallway.
"You want to leave so badly?" She snapped, turning towards you.
She hummed. "You are just like the others."
"Please let me go." You said.
"There is only one solution to this. Prove yourself. Prove to me you are strong enough to survive!"
You entered a fight with Toriel.
You weren't going to fight her.
First you tried acting, that didn't work and it cost you 4 hp.
Then you tried sparing.
It seemed to work. Just a little bit.
"Fight me or run away!"
You kept sparing her.
You knew it was working.
"What are you trying to prove this way?"
Spare.
"Fight back!"
Spare.
"Fight me!"
Spare.
"..."
Spare.
"Stop it..."
Spare.
"Stop looking at me that way..."
Spare.
You were down to 2 hp and Toriel finally gave up.
"I cannot hurt you." She said. "I do not want to hurt you."
"My child. Through your mercy, you managed to win the battle and survive. If you truly wish to leave the ruins, I will not stop you. However, if you do choose to leave..."
"Please do not come back."
You nodded.
She knelt down in front of you.
"Thank you for understanding."
She hugged you and another green light surrounded you.
After she finished healing you, she stood up.
"Goodbye and good luck, my child."
She then walked away from you and back up to her house.
You watched her leave, then you turned back to the door and walked through.
There, Flowey was waiting for you.
"You think you can play by a different set of rules huh?" He said.
All you did was glare at him.
"How intriguing. Let me know how that goes for you!" He said, then he started laughing before he disappeared again into the ground.
You walked over the patch of grass and walked through the next door.
(Hope you enjoyed. Stay tuned for more and have a good day)
