Hydration
With brand-name bottle fads and gallon-a-day water challenges trending on TikTok, hydration is in, and that’s good news for health. The average human body is more than 60% water. Water makes up almost two-thirds of your brain and heart, 83% of your lungs, 64% of your skin, and even 31% of your bones. It’s involved in almost every process that keeps you alive. So if you’ve hopped on the water-drinking bandwagon, you’re doing yourself a big solid.
“Water is essential for your body’s survival,” says Crystal Scott, registered dietitian-nutritionist with Top Nutrition Coaching. “It helps regulate your temperature, transports nutrients, removes waste, lubricates your joints and tissues, and it also plays a crucial role in maintaining the delicate balance of electrolytes and fluids in your body.”
You lose water when you breathe, sweat, urinate, and metabolize food and drink into energy. If you don’t replace that fluid, your health can go downhill, and fast. Without food, your body can keep ticking for as long as three weeks or more. But without water, you’ll die in only a few days. There’s just too many systems that depend on it.
“I like to correlate our bodies with planet Earth,” says Scott. “Our Earth is made up of a large percentage of water. If that amount got too low, what would happen to our food systems? Our forests? Animal life? It’s a domino effect.”
To keep that first domino from falling, she says, drink up.
“It’s the starter when looking at any form of change or issues with your nutrition or your lifestyle—assess water intake first and foremost,” says Scott. “It helps with fullness cues, it can improve cognitive function, mood, physical performance, and can prevent health problems like constipation, kidney stones, and urinary tract infections. It’s one of the foundational building blocks.”
Bottom line: Water is life. But how much should you be downing daily not just to survive, but thrive?
What’s the right amount?
The common rule of thumb you’ve likely heard is the 8×8 rule: Drink eight 8-oz. cups of water a day. If you’re achieving that, you’re doing well, says Scott. But it’s possible you could benefit from some adjustments.
“I don’t think that amount is necessarily wrong, but I think research over time has definitely evolved,” she says. “Water recommendations are going to vary depending on age, sex, and activity level.”
Your intake recommendation may vary based on life circumstances, too, such as the climate you live in, physical activity, illness, and whether you’re pregnant or breastfeeding.
The National Academy of Science, Engineering and Medicine recommends an average daily water intake of about 125 ounces for men and about 91 ounces for women. If you’re not filling up a bottle to exactly that amount every day, you’re probably still close or even over, because you also get water from food, says Scott.
“You can get a lot of hydration from foods like celery, oranges, strawberries, watermelon, and cucumbers,” she says. “All are hydrating foods that can actually help supplement your water intake

DO NOT REBLOG. TRIGGER WARNINGS FOR THE WHOLE TIMELINE : mentions of paedophilia, drug addictions, emotional neglect, torture, gunshot wounds, blood, suicide etc. Spencer’s life is not entirely a happy one.

Pre-Series. // 1981 - 2004.
1981 : Spencer Reid is born on October 28th at 7.8lbs, which is the average weight for carried to term babies.
William takes time off from work to help take care of Spencer while Diana still remains off of her medication in order to breastfeed. 
1985 : Spencer is four years old and is approached by a man by the name of Gary Michaels while Spencer was playing chess in the park. 
Soon after, Spencer’s six-year-old neighbour and friend, Riley Jenkins, was sexually abused and murdered by Gary Michaels. Gary Michaels is then killed by Riley’s dad, and Spencer assumes that Riley is an imaginary friend. 
Ever since this incident, Spencer has been plagued with dreams of finding a dead six-year-old stuffed behind a washing machine, but he remembers nothing else from this time. 
Also, ever since then, Will had started to pull away from the family.
1986 : Spencer starts kindergarten and runs circles around others in his grade. Spencer’s parents and the school meet, and they all agree to let Spencer try to join in with older kids as to not bore him in school. 
He tested at the sixth grade level, and thus he joined the sixth grade in a middle school nearby at the age of five. 
He will remain six years ahead of his peers for his entire primary & secondary educational career. 
1989 : Spencer graduates middle school and goes to high school as a freshman at the age of eight. 
1991 : Spencer is ten years old and his father, William, decides to leave the family. After arguing with Diana in front of Spencer, Will leaves a letter behind. 
Spencer is now left all alone to take care of his mother, and he often had to make decisions about his mother’s health along with the aid of her doctors. 
1993 : Spencer is twelve years old and a senior in high school. 
Twelve years of age is when he starts to get bullied the most, especially by seniors who were jealous of his intellect. 
One incident includes being stripped naked by the entire football team and then tied to a goalpost. He remained there for hours, and when he came home, his mother hadn’t realised he had been gone for so long, which devastated him emotionally. 
After that incident, he knew that he had to raise up his social standing somehow. 
Spencer started to coach basketball due to his skill in mathematics, and Spencer was able to thrive a little bit more socially. He was also under the protection of the basketball team, as they thought of him as both their mascot and their coach, and so he was protected until graduation by the basketball team.
Spencer had his pick and choose on colleges, and he had received many scholarships, which helps since they had to pay for Diana’s medication somehow without entirely draining Diana’s benefits and money after being an English professor for a few decades. 
It is at this time that Spencer does some illegal things, like placing illegal bets through an adult while giving the adult a cut in order to make money. This is to help pay for his mother’s medicine and also for himself. 
Spencer decides to go to Caltech and talks with Diana’s doctor on how best to keep Diana safe. At that point, she was still high-functioning enough that she could last the week and then he would come and visit her on the weekends. A nurse would also come by daily to make sure that Diana was alright. 
1995 : Spencer is fourteen and meets Ethan, who is sixteen. As two teenagers who are somewhat too young to be in college, the two of them hit it off pretty well, and they became fast friends and rivals. 
1997 : Spencer is sixteen and he has finished some of his undergraduate degrees, as he triple-majored in in Mathematics, Chemistry, and Engineering. 
1998 : Spencer is seventeen and has gotten his doctorate in Mathematics. 
Spencer gets a fake ID in order to play in casinos to also help spruce up some money for his mother. 
1999 : Spencer is eighteen and he’s finally admitted to himself that his mother cannot take care of herself any longer and has her committed involuntarily to a psychiatric institution, Bennington Sanitarium. 
Spencer gets his doctorate in Chemistry. 
2000 : Spencer is nineteen and he gets his doctorate in Engineering. 
Spencer and Ethan hook up and become friends with benefits. 
2001 : Spencer is twenty and he sits in a lecture by James Gideon. He gets super interested in psychology and talks to Gideon about joining the BAU. 
Gideon decides to start to mentor Spencer and suggests that Spencer gets degrees in both Psychology and Sociology. 
2002 : Spencer is twenty-one and he gets two more bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Sociology. 
Gideon continues to mentor him and pulls some strings in the FBI to get Spencer recruited to the FBI. 
2003 - 2004: Spencer was recruited to the FBI at the age of 22. He joined the academy, and while he aced all of the tests, he struggled a bit with the physicality aspects of being an FBI agent. After a few waivers and his graduation from the Academy, he was placed in the BAU at age 22 and given the title Supervisory Special Agent. 
While the show states that Spencer was given waivers in EVERY PHYSICAL ASPECT of being a FBI agent, I... really don’t think they would let him out into the field at all, even if he was left behind during takedowns in most of s1. What is Functional Training and Do I Want It?
Functional Coaching is a set of exercises intended to help enhance the real activities which you work on a daily basis. Functional Training originated within the area of rehab as physical therapists designed real exercises which were like a day to day motions you do while in the office or at home. Originally these exercises have been conducted as part of article surgery treatment, but recently they've been implemented into all sorts of applications for individuals at different physical exercise degrees and seeking different outcomes. Having become a competitive bodybuilder myself and knowing the benefits of those exercises, I'd say they are quite beneficial to everybody since they may offer fantastic improvements in endurance, versatility and even boost in strength. Body weight exercises are excellent as they can be carried out everywhere.
Although there are tremendous advantages from Functional Training, it alone isn't a Sufficient program for optimum wellbeing. Functional training ought to Be Together with strength training, core training, stretching along with also a cardiovascular system for optimum benefit.
