Sims 4 - Saveurs Provençales
Lately, I've been giving the sims live mode another shot (I know, shocking!), and I realized that I only have two restaurants in my save. Now that they are more functional thanks to Carl's mod, I thought it was time to build some more!
Also, I updated one of my previous lot, Au Frais Gardon, to make it work a little better. I am also finalizing a new version of the Palais des Orchidées I made for the same reason, I will post it soon.
Location: Magnolia Promenade, Preeminent Domain.
Info: Restaurant, 20x30.
Playtested as usual, without CC, use bb.moveobjects on before placing the lot.
Download the tray files: SimFileShare.
Or use my EA ID simsontherope to find it in the gallery!
My Terms of Use are on this page. If you like this and my other creations, you can also follow me on Twitter!

Neil Welliver (American, 1929-2005) is best known for his large-scale, vivid paintings and woodcuts of the remote Maine wilderness. Born in the small town of Millville, Pennsylvania, he first studied at the Philadelphia College of Art (1953), followed by Yale (1955), where Josef Albers and Burgoyne Diller were among his teachers. Their influence, as well as the rising popularity of Abstract Expressionism, is evident from Welliver’s early experimentations in abstraction, which include elements of color field painting, as well as the color theory of Albers, and the flattened, “allover” space of Pollock and de Kooning.
Welliver would go on to teach at Yale from the mid-1950s to the mid-1960s, by which time he had moved formally towards the representational, beginning to paint the landscape of Maine. In the late 1960s and early 70s he also produced scenes of nude bathers in streams, their bodies abstracted by the moving water. While continuing to work as the chair of the University of Pennsylvania graduate school (1966-1989), he moved permanently to Lincolnville, Maine, in 1970. Welliver lost his studio, home, and much of his work to a fire in 1975. The following year, his second wife and infant daughter died. Further tragedy came with the death of his college aged son in 1991. His artistic practice remained the mode through which he survived these hardships.

i haven't seen much yelling on the dashboard but i've been playing the horse ranch ep for more than 4 sim weeks (and 3 different saves) and BOY OH BOY do i have some complaining to do
(here's your long post warning let's goooooooo)
so, thing i've encountered so far:
anything completely fenced in counts as a room in ts4 even though it doesn't have floors or a roof so your horsies will complain about being stuck inside for too long even though they are very clearly outside. at first i thought it was just the free spirit trait but other horses started getting uncomfortable soon after... to fix this, delete a part of the fencing, rebuild it elsewhere and then move it back in the empty spot, so the game doesn't register it as a completed room
horses will play with their ball... untill they don't. the ball has been placed with moveobjects off and they have plenty of space but... no ball. buying a new ball or changing the balls colour helps so i dunno... maybe the horse just wants a change of ball every now and then
after placing a tiny home lot and moving in my household, going into buy mode doesn't let me buy anything because it shows 'business funds' instead of the household funds... the household does not own a business. changing the lot type to tiny home before placing from the gallery seems to fix this
doors won't stay locked after loading a save if you click the "lock door for all..." (chicken, goats, horses etc) option. i don't know if it's a bug or a 'realistic' feature but chicken WILL NOT stay contained whatever you do. horses can be kept to their pen by 'lock for individual sim' option because they are sims and not objects, i guess
every time your sims cleans the chicken coop they will throw out all the hatchable eggs you've placed in there - be wary of your sim cleaning up because they might autonomously throw out all your baby eggs too
sim gets stuck brushing a cat for hours and won't stop until i make them stop
sims keep coming over and making de-stressing decoctions on the grill
at some point every time i made my sim mount their horse, both would just glitch next to each other. reloading the save helped. they still sometimes mount & instantly demount their horse though and you have to do a little dance to make your sim stay on the damn horse
minor visual glitches like outlines staying after deleting rooms, rooflines becoming invisible, glitched water appearing when using terrain tools and, of course, countless animations not matching up with sims/objects
as stated above, i tested 3 different saves (including starting a new save twice) and could replicate these even in a 100% vanilla game with an empty mod folder and mods disabled in settings
this may not seem like much in the grander scale of the sims 4 (honestly, that statement alone is yikes) but it did considerably sour my enjoyment of the expansion. i play a lot of video games in general and this is literally the only one that gives me so much headache...

1914 George Barbier, Costume de Yacht
This picture shown below was circulated with an issue of Journal des dames et des modes. Can you imagine something so extravagant as a magazine published three times a month, limited to 1,250 copies per issue? It first appeared on 1 June 1912, and 79 issues later, on 1 August 1914, it ceased publication.
In addition to “literary articles, poems, society columns and fashion reports,” the exclusive circle of subscribers “received colourful unbound fashion plates entitled Costumes Parisiens, which were engraved on copper and coloured au pochoir. The plates were contributed by leading fashion illustrators of the day including Barbier” and a host of other luminaries. Costumes Parisiens illustrations such as Barbier’s Costume de Yacht shown above occasionally appear in antique shops and print galleries, where they are much sought after and priced accordingly. (x)

Contemporary: September 20th, 1944. Oosterbeek, Netherlands.
As soon as Lieutenant Kruger exited the Hendriksen Hotel, Alix was ready for him.
Opening her issue of Modes de Paris to a random page once more, she began to study the page on upcoming winter clothing trends, gradually increasing her pace until she "accidentally" collided with the young SS officer, causing him to stumble.
Most targets would apologize for knocking her and check to see if she was alright, but when the Lieutenant recovered his footing, something in him snapped.
Whirling around in a fit of fury, Kruger seized the spy by the throat, swearing in German as he slammed her against the wall of the Hendriksen hard enough to elicit a choking cough as the air was punched from her lungs.
Alix knew she couldn't put up true resistance or she would risk blowing her cover so she struggled weakly, one hand gripping his wrist and the other pushing him away from her as she fought for air.
The urge to break his arm was growing stronger with every second but Alix had committed herself to the civilian role and she would have to play it, even to her own peril.
Horrified townspeople saw the confrontation but scurried by, hastily avoiding the scene so as not to catch the SS officer's eye.
No one wanted to be next.
Tears involuntarily sprang to the spy's eyes as Kruger's hold tightened. When he lifted her off the ground, her ears began to buzz loudly as her vision began to blur and narrow.
Desperately fighting to remain conscious, Alix began to claw his hand and Kruger finally released her, yelling in pain, his voice seeming far away.
Gasping for breath like a fish out of water, Alix sank to her knees, the magazine slipping from her hand and falling limply to the cobblestones below.
The world seemed to be spinning like a children's top and Alix sat dazed. Kruger looked like he might come at her a second time but before he could, she saw another pair of boots approaching with the sharp clip-clip-clip that meant business.
As she coughed, leaning against the wall for support, the young woman could hear voices arguing above her in German. Blinking blearily upward, she could see a dignified-looking older man also in an SS uniform with the name “Schwarzkopf” emblazoned on the breast pocket.
A panoply of medals sat proudly on the opposite side of his chest, including what Alix recognized to be the Iron Cross.
This must be SS Captain Schwarzkopf then, she surmised through the haze. Werner Schwarzkopf.
She vaguely remembered his file.
Schwarzkopf was engrossed in a near-shouting match with the short-tempered Lieutenant, waving his hands as he gestured to Alix, to the street, and then jabbed an accusatory finger back into Kruger's chest.
All the fight seemed to have left the younger officer now and his body seemed to sag as he hung his head guiltily like a child being scolded by the schoolmaster.
After a few more minutes of back-and-forth, the row seemed to come to an end and the older officer knelt to pick up Alix's magazine before extending a hand politely down to her which she accepted.
Once she had gotten to her feet, Alix let the tears run down her cheeks and sniffled, hoping to seem more sympathetic.
It worked.
The older officer glanced over the title of the fashion catalog with a fond smile.
"Modes de Paris," he read out loud, his German-accent almost disappearing, making his French surprisingly comprehensible. "My wife is subscribed to this. Lisette has a weakness for capes."
"Well she's in luck because they appear to be all the rage this coming winter," Alix assured, returning the smile weakly as she rubbed her sore neck in with a gentle hand.
"I should hope so, with all of the money we’ve spent on them!"
The man let out a booming belly laugh that set Alix's ears ringing again and she winced, clinging to the wall of the bookshop with her left hand in a bid for balance as she slowly straightened up.
"I am truly sorry for my carelessness," she uttered softly, keeping her head lowered as a sign of her deference. "I sometimes get too immersed in my reading."
"No need to apologize, Mademoiselle, no harm done," the older man stated broadly but Lieutenant Kruger huffed like a spoiled child before shooting a suspicious glare in Alix’s direction for less than a second.
Strangely, the youthful SS officer couldn’t maintain eye contact to save his life.
Alix couldn’t even tell what color his irises were because they were dwarfed by his dinner-plate pupils and darting every which way as though distracted by a million different things that only he could see.
Lieutenant Kruger was muttering under his breath, seemingly speaking more to himself than anyone else as he rocked back and forth on his heels.
The agent glanced over to the older man with concern, lowering her voice to avoid triggering Kruger’s ire again.
“Is he… alright?”
The graying man grimaced.
“He is functional. Mostly.”

“What’s wrong with him?” she asked, making sure to keep her body language open and non-defensive to emphasize her earnestness.
The key was seeming politely concerned, not overly curious.
Schwarzkopf shook his head, seemingly mystified.
“Overwork perhaps? Who’s to say?”
“S-She’s a spy!” Kruger burst out suddenly, extending a shaking finger toward the agent.
Alix’s eyebrows shot skyward with a bemused laugh but the older man beside her merely frowned, his forehead creasing.
“You said the same thing earlier about 4 men in the bakers regiment, Klemens." Captain Schwarzkopf's voice was rising. "Is this your idea of a joke?"
Kruger was completely ignoring him, seemingly too immersed in his own paranoia to notice.
This was not a joke, Alix thought as she watched the troubled young man begin pacing anxiously back and forth along the same path.
Something was seriously wrong with her target and it wasn't trench fever.
"So many spies," the young man mumbled, his movements becoming more jerky in his distress. "So many…So many."
The lieutenant was becoming more and more agitated by the second, scratching frantically at his neck and face like a dog with fleas, raking his fingernails up and down the pockmarked skin feverishly as if trying to dig his way down to the bone.
Kruger's erratic behavior was causing Alix some serious trepidation.
The young SS officer was sweating excessively but there were no other symptoms, meaning the Intel she was acting on was incorrect. Whatever his affliction, it was most certainly not trench fever and Alix wondered if it might be better to take him out from a distance instead.
She might risk losing the chance to nab vital documents he was carrying but if his affliction was contagious, she didn't want to risk any more exposure because she could potentially infect others she came into contact with after.
Deciding to try one last ruse, Alix turned glanced over at Kruger, whose hands appeared to be twitching as he shifted restlessly from foot to foot.
"I really should get going," she excused herself breathily.
"Papa will be expecting me after Monsieur Pètain has gone, I'm sure."
With all the practiced coyness of an actress delivering a throwaway line over her shoulder, Alix turned to leave when she was stopped, as she knew she would be.
Kruger was slack-jawed, his huge pupils boring into her like black holes.
“Your father knows The Marshal Pètain? The Lion of Verdun? But how-”
"Papa was his roommate at Saint-Cyr," Alix lied effortlessly, cutting the babbling young man off. "And when they left the military academy, they served together in Artois. As you can imagine, they are quite close."
“What did you say your father’s name was?” the older man asked, a hint of skepticism in his gravelly voice and Alix forced her expression to remain neutral, hoping to God that her cover had been properly backstopped.
“Antoine Duchamps,” she replied, keeping her tone even, and Kruger’s ghostly face brightened immediately.
“I know that name!” He piped up eagerly and Alix resolved to thank Nixon later for properly planting her cover when Kruger began chattering twice as fast to the man next to him, leaving Alix blinking as she struggled to follow along.
The Lieutenant's French wasn't bad for a German but the faster he spoke, the more his words began to slur, running together in a muddled mess and on top of it, he hardly seemed to breathe!
"Philippe Pètain! My God, can you believe it? Do you think he would meet with us? Perhaps-"
But the older officer held up a hand to silence Kruger, who was starting to pace again in his excitement.
"I'm sure the Marshal is a busy man, Klemens," Captain Schwarzkopf began but Alix shook her head, tossing her curls airily like the airheaded socialite she was supposed to be.
"Don't be silly!” she chirped brightly, her tone syrupy-sweet. “He'd be honored to meet with some of our valiant German allies! If one of you could escort me to the nearest phone, I'm sure I could ring Papa and arrange it!"
The young agent paused for a moment, watching as Lieutenant Kruger began scratching vigorously at his neck and cheek again, angry red lines beginning to trail down the irritated skin.
"It can't be a party line though," Alix hinted, twirling a strand of her raven hair around her finger flirtatiously.
"The Marshal is very particular about who has access to him, I'm sure you understand. One can never be too careful these days. It should be somewhere…private.”
Kruger had ceased his clawing now, too distracted by the sight of Alix’s fluttering eyelashes and suggestive tone to focus.
“I know the perfect place,” the young man blurted out, seizing her by the arm rather suddenly and practically yanking her towards him in a sudden burst of virility.
Good, Alix thought as the notorious ladies' man led her back inside the hotel, leaving a confused Captain Schwarzkopf behind them. This should be quick.
But it wasn't.
∆∆━━━━∆∆━━━∆∆━━━∆∆
An impromptu SS Headquarters on one floor and a rented love nest on the other, it seemed the Hendriksen made good money from collaborating with Nazis because the place was crawling with them.

As the pair made their way through the lobby into the elevator, Alix kept her head dipped low, making sure that her thick, Veronica Lake-style waves were obscuring at least half her face from passersby.
Beside her, Lieutenant Kruger was still trembling like a leaf; his short, shallow breaths coming out in pants as though he’d just run a marathon.
A part of her wanted to ask if he was alright but she thought better of it; Alix knew if she set him off again, she wouldn’t be able to hold back from killing him and she was fairly certain that the noise would attract unwanted attention from the multiple Nazis milling about downstairs.
In the elevator, the young SS officer pressed a shaky hand to his chest, the feeling of his racing heart starting him rocking on his heels once again and Kruger’s anxiety coupled with the groaning of the rusted cables made Alix grit her teeth.
He better not drop dead before we get to the room, she thought bitterly. Because I’m not dragging him there myself.
Fortunately, the ding of the elevator signaled their arrival and the young spy allowed herself a quiet exhale of relief as they exited onto the plush, patterned carpeting of the hall.
It was showtime.
∆∆━━━━∆∆━━━∆∆━━━∆∆
Common courtesy dictated that a gentleman should offer a lady a drink upon inviting her in but Lieutenant Kruger was certainly no gentleman.
Alix had barely sat down by the bedside telephone when the young officer plopped down beside her, his leg bouncing vigorously, practically shaking the whole mattress with it.
"My, my,” he marveled and Alix could feel his bony fingers boldly caressing her upper arm. “Aren’t you a stunning creature?”
It took all of her strength not to break his hand.

“Thank you, sir,” she simpered but when she reached for the phone, Kruger’s other arm shot out like lightning to stop her, clutching her wrist painfully tight.
“What’s your hurry, Fraulein?” he inquired and Alix felt a chill run through at the sight of his crocodile grin. “I’m sure the Marshal can wait until we’re through.”
The agent played dumb, wincing at his vise-like grip.
“U-Until we’re through…?”

“Until I’ve had time to properly enjoy…your presence.”

Good luck with that, Alix wanted to remark but she lowered her eyes to the carpet instead, feigning shyness.
"Forgive me, sir,” she murmured breathily, doing her best impression of a bashful ingenue. “But being alone with a man as…” She swallowed her disgust. “As handsome and well-respected as yourself…”
Beside her, the Lieutenant dropped her wrist and straightened up at her words, puffing his chest out like a strutting rooster and Alix bit her lip to keep from laughing out loud.
“You needn't be coy, Fraulein," he assured her with a pompous wave of his hand. "We're finally alone."
With that, he made a daring swoop toward her, attempting to hook an arm around her waist but Alix shied away, scooting closer toward the phone instead.
"Perhaps a drink first?” she insisted quickly, followed by a tight-lipped smile. "For both of us, to calm the nerves."
"I'm not thirsty," he countered, continuing to lean in and Alix kept her expression neutral, tolerating his advances as her mind raced through possibilities.
She needed him to ingest the cyanide somehow but she knew she couldn't push the subject or she'd risk blowing her cover.

So she played hard to get, ducking away from his arms again and hoping desperately that her attempts at coyness would pay off but they didn't.
The SS Lieutenant was like a machine.
He didn't need to eat, drink, or sleep; he seemed to run on desire alone and he was vibrating as though there was lightning coursing through his veins.
She tried several times to engage him in conversation but the Lieutenant wasn’t interested in talking. Once he’d reached out and groped her breast, Alix decided she’d had enough.
Swallowing her pride, the spy leaned in, keeping her lips just inches away from Kruger's as she slowly eased the F-S fighting knife from the waistband of her skirt. He was so near that she could smell his putrid breath and as soon as his eyes closed, she seized her opportunity and thrust the blade deep into his abdomen.
The force of the stab alone would probably have killed the average soldier but it seemed almost as though the SS officer was superhuman.
He let out a single, strangled noise and looked down at the knife embedded in his torso before his eyes shifted up, black with unspeakable rage as he leapt to his feet and took a swing.
Alix blocked his first strike with one hand while yanking the knife from his bloody ribs with the other, eliciting another bloodcurdling scream from her opponent.
Heart racing, Alix swiped at him with the blade like Nix had taught her but the Lieutenant was faster, catching her wrist and clamping down between the tendons, forcing her to drop the knife like a hot coal.

She hissed in pain and managed to land a blow to the side of his face before he struck back, his fist flying over her head as she dropped to the floor. Panting, she managed to sweep his legs out from under him and he came crashing to the floor with a loud thud.
But just as she straightened up, reaching again for her knife, the bastard latched onto her leg and dragged her back down onto the carpet with him, bellowing the only word in German that Alix recognized at the top of his lungs:
“Spionin! Spionin!”
Spy.
Rolling over, Alix rushed to clap a hand over his mouth but the damage had already been done.
She could hear the clamor of approaching footsteps, the squealing hinges of doors swinging open, panicked voices shouting in French and German.
The officer caught her dominant wrist before it reached him, bending it backwards with such force that Alix swore she heard a sickening crack and a hot pain shot up her arm just as he swung again with his opposite hand, this time connecting squarely with her jaw in a stunning uppercut that sent her head snapping back like a flipping switch.
Reeling from the dull throbbing in her skull and spitting blood, Alix managed to tug her pistol from its hidden holster and fired two shots, one after the other, into the man’s head, dropping him instantly.
The sudden cacophony of German coming from just outside the door spurred the agent to struggle to her feet.
Cradling her injured wrist, Alix was seeing double but she managed to stagger her way to the window overlooking the hotel’s back. The deafening jingling of room keys set her ears ringing and she leaned against the windowsill for support as the world seemed to spin.
Her heart thundered in her chest, her racing pulse causing blood to gush steadily from her split lip, dribbling down her chin in a warm stream.
Despite the pain, the young agent still managed to shove the window open and shakily clamber onto the sill. Staring down into the shadows of the alleyway, Alix felt nausea creeping in, her fear of heights making her stomach churn as her vision blurred.
The ground below seemed to undulate like an ocean tide and Alix had to lean against the wall, each time she blinked in the streaming sunlight feeling like a hammer slamming down onto her skull.
Hearing the deafening click of the door unlocking, the OSS operative swayed unsteadily for a moment as the world slowed to a crawl.
Standing on the ledge, Alix found herself in a fog, wondering thickly how long it would take for her case officer to be informed of her death.
It wasn't your fault, Nix, she wanted to tell him. You were a great handler. I wasn't a good enough agent.
"Too many risks, kid." Alix could hear him now, scolding her like he had during training. "You take too many risks."
Suddenly, several uniformed men burst into the room, interrupting her hazy contemplation. The resulting commotion sounded so far away, as though it was all happening underwater.
Holding a hand to her pounding head, Alix squeezed her eyes shut.
I'm sorry, Joey, she thought groggily, her aching head beginning to loll. I love you.
Then with a last shaky breath, she leapt from the ledge, sending herself plummeting downward onto the unforgiving bricks below.

Wait, an exhibition? Pigeon in the big Big leagues? 👀
KSDJKSFJ i'll answer both in French and English to this one
So not sure about the big leagues part but yes! I share a room in a gallery with my sister and we'll exhibit our drawings from the 3 March to the 7 April!!! And taking into account the printing, framing and hanging we have less than 2 months to do all our drawings hihii 🤩 I'm really looking forward to it but I have a lot of stuff to produce in a short time so I'm on survival mode.
It's in france, at l'Espace Gibert, in Lezignan-Corbières .
It's a small room but it's a great start! I'm always happy to see my drawings on paper and in large format, it feels natural! It's not my first exhibition, but it's the first time I'm not just on one wall sharing the place with strangers. And it's with my older sister, we have a universe that match pretty well. she's more SF and cyber-punk oriented and it'll be so badass (check her out)

A Real, True, Extra-Verified Account of Ficino Preaching on the Magi and the Star that Guided Them
Marsilio Ficino, priest-mode, at the pulpit: A star shall come out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel. With these words Balaam, in the book of Numbers, foretells the coming of the Messiah.
Lorenzo de' Medici: at least he's talking about the bible this time.
Ficino: Balaam lived in the Eastern area, where the Magi lived too, and among them there were some priests very skilled in astronomy who ruled the people. Thus, they were attentive students of sky signs and had noticed the event that, according Balaam, would be showed by the prodigy of the star.
Angelo Polizianno: oh, oh, astronomy was mentioned within five minutes of the start of the sermon. You owe me five lire, Lorenzo.
Giovanni Cavalcanti: you all owe me, actually. I guessed it to the exact second.
Angelo: you live with him and read his sermons, you're not allowed in our betting pool.
Ficino: Eventually, when Jesus was born, an extraordinary comet shone in the highest part of the sky. What scholars thought about such a comet is stated by Origen in Contra Celsum, when he refers to what he read in the book of the Stoic Cheremon, that in some cases comets can indicate happy and prosperous events. The one shining at the time of Augustus and Jesus' birth has this nature.
Lorenzo: oh thank god a church father was mentioned. First time in a month he's not treated Plato as a church father.
Giovanni: but it makes him so happy!
Ficino: Calcidius, the Platonist, attests the same, referring us to several stories about stars. There are also tales, more sacred and venerable, which state that neither illness or death were heralded with the birth this certain specific star. It was clear to all, rather, that the holy coming of God was heralded and it would bring the grace of redemption to mankind.
Lorenzo: and THERE'S the Platonism.
Ficino: I must pause here to request the peanut gallery to stop talking. Really, Giovanni, I thought you said you had this under control.
Giovanni: sorry. continue.
Ficino: In judging the comet to be prosperous and healthy, in fact, the witnesses recognized that it comes from the nature of the Sun, Jupiter, and Venus. It is taught that when a comet's colour is dark, it is Saturnian, and heralds plague and famine. When it is of the same colour of fire, it is a Martian and foretells battles and fires. Indeed, the greatest part of comets are of these two varieties. In fact! the fire and impetuous strength of Mars draws terrestrial fumes higher, in the upper part of the air, near the Fire sphere where they burn.
Giovanni: this isn't a Ficino Astrology lecture, honey, you're in church
Ficino:
Ficino: anyway. So. When Eastern astronomers, in December, saw a comet rising in the beginning of Sagittarius, they judged it a benevolent apparition, because it shed golden rays, being of Sun nature, silver rays because of Jupiterian nature, and mixed rays because of Venusian nature. Maybe Jupiter, too, was in that moment in the beginning of Sagittarius. The Sun, if others are right in their calculations, was in the middle of the sign. Maybe Venus, always near to the Sun, was in the last degree of the sign.
Lorenzo: am I in church or am I at the Florentine Studio?
Angelo: neither, we're at Ficino and Cavalcanti's after we've all had two bottles of wine each.
Giovanni: .... not inaccurate
Ficino: This celestial configuration caused great admiration and great quarrels. Which is what you are going to get if you don't shut up.
Giovanni: please continue.
Ficino: Thank You. Because of  the position of Jupiter, Sun, and Venus, the Magi judged the one whose birth was heralded would be a rightful king of greatest fame and very merciful. But, because of the Sun, he could not be very rich. How will he be both a great king and poor? Considering Jupiter rising in the angle of the geniture, they judged the nativity very favorable; but sterile because of the Moon in the first facie of Virgo, being the stress on a virgin rather than a pregnant woman.
Angelo: this is very precise. were you there?
Ficino: So I believe that the comet, not natural but divine, was moved, and lighted by the Archangel Gabriel. It was Gabriel in fact that announced John, Christ’s forerunner, to Zachariah and Christ to Mary; it was him to show to the Gentiles the birth of Christ and the place where it occured; and through the Gentiles he persuaded Jews too. And under the form of a star informed the students of stars, and through the light of the star, derived from the Sun he guided them towards the Sun.
Lorenzo: church, Ficino! You're in church!
Giovanni: oh he likes to play with fire. don't worry about it.
Ficino: The astronomers brought gold to the just born king, because they judged him having a Sun nature, with perfumed incense they indicated the grace of Venus, with myrrh they indicated a life under the influence of Jupiter, unaware of putrefaction.
Angelo: magi or astronomers?
Ficino: they're both.
Lorenzo: are you self identifying with them? pagans who find Christ?
Ficino: I'm not answering that. As I was saying, they gave him the gold because he was a king, the incense because he was a priest, the myrrh because he was God. ... It is likely the comet was an Angel; how an Angel in human guise guided Tobias travel, in the same way the Angel under the guise of a comet guided the journey of the astrologers towards Christ.
Giovanni: you didn't take my edits in this part did you? is the comet guided by an angel or an angel?
Ficino: and you aren't listening. It is an angel disguised as a comet. It's Gabriel. Look, don't worry about it.
Angelo: so which of you started saying "Don't worry about it" and passed it on to the other?
Ficino & Giovanni pointing at each other: He did.
Angelo: don't worry about it?
Giovanni: right. Don't even worry about it.
Ficino: As I was saying. The Angel, turned toward the East, promptly directed the comet towards Persia (as in, he as a comet directed his light towards Persia), in order to guide from there the Magi to Christ. From here Isaiah said: Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of  the Lord is risen upon thee.  And people walk  in your light.
Lorenzo: we are back to the Bible! praise be!
Ficino: We have been discussing the Bible the entire time, Lorenzo!
Lorenzo: I've been hearing a lot of stars and magic men. So...
Ficino: Now, what has been said about the sign of Christ being that of Sagittarius was based on the calculation of someone else. In my opinion, Christ's sign is more rightly that of Virgo. While Christ was born, necessarily one of the twelve signs was rising, and I don’t know which sign is more appropriate to give the One who is born from a Virgin than Virgo.
Giovanni: I love when he does vague drive-bys on other people's astrological readings of Christ's birth.
Angelo: is this a usual occurance at home?
Giovanni: it's pillow talk.
Lorenzo: church! we are in church! oh my god!
Ficino: you're normally not so prudish.
Lorenzo: we're in a church!
Lorenzo:
Lorenzo: wait, you're saying Jesus is a Virgo? But he was born in December.
Angelo: He doesn't seem like a Virgo. Pices is more my read.
Giovanni: Leo. Trust me. He's a Leo.
Ficino: VIRGO. I'VE ASSIGNED HIM VIRGO. It makes sense! Trust me!
Giovanni: If we're just randomly assigning him things not based on his being born in December I still maintain Leo.
Ficino: Was he born in December? Were you there? Do people in ancient Judea have a winter lambing season? Thank you. So. To wrap up. The light which comes from the Good is spread through all the spirits and is beneficial and beatific. It directs us towards the Good and teaches us Stillness (which is God). And it makes it possible that we love the Good and rejoice in it.
Lorenzo: platonic again, we've gone full platonic-letters-from-Marsilio again.
Ficino: Whatever particular Good a man has within him is the image of Good itself. Men without charity, the ones tormented by envy, are starting to fall into darkness and away from the benefits (Goodness) of Light. Since they hate Good, they therefore suffer within Good which is a heartbreak for what is hell but an absence of the Good which is God? Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Lorenzo:
Lorenzo: was that last bit a drive by at anyone in particular?
Giovanni: don't worry about it.
Lorenzo: If it's about me, I swear to god -
Angelo: annnnnd it's time for the Credo and for everyone's running commentary to stop.
Ficino: THANK YOU.
--------
note: Ficino's sermon language is taken from an actual sermon he gave on the star that led the Magi to Christ.

Your gallery dating Jimmy Pop — tour edition
I’m starting with this, I don’t have a lot of pictures of him so it will not be going very far, but if you do, oh pleeeeaase send me some!!!
I am obsessed with him you have no idea, but I am not yet comfortable writing an entire fanfiction about him. Just little preferences like that I think. 😊
Okay but if you have any idea about him also, stuff to write, like how he would act in certain situation, I haven’t quite figured him out yet so please do!!! I don’t bite 😊
——————————————————————————
Tumblr media
You took this photo in the hotel room. It was in the middle of the night, no one was sleeping, not feeling tired. Too much excitement. It was the first night going on tour, you were all drinking, celebrating the moment, so no one was tired. You eventually went back to each other’s hotel bedroom, trying to calm down as it was very late. You took this picture when you both laid down, talking, joking and such.
Tumblr media
On tour again, Brazil this time. You had the chance to go with them and you were very thankful. The concerts were at the end of the day, so between rehearsals you could get in tourist mode and explore the city you were in. You couldn’t be in Rio de Janeiro and not go to the statue. It resulted in this picture. James took one of you too but it ended up to be so blurry that it was useless. You teased him for days that he couldn’t take one decent picture.
Tumblr media
One picture for every country you visited on tour. It was the first night you arrived in China (Japan? I can’t determine) . You all drove to the place where the concert would take place to get familiar and ended up exploring the city at night because you were all jet lagged. It was the most fun night you had. You were so tired that not of you could form one sentence without making a mistake, you all sounded drunk as hell, even though you weren’t (a miracle).
Tumblr media
This one is on stage. Of course you’re in front, vip spot for being James’ girl. Since you took this picture you cannot live without thinking about it. You love it so much. He is so focused, he is just so hot. The cap (big weakness), it’s just small things all together. You always love seeing him doing what he loves, what he wants, just enjoying his life. And damn, he always looked sexy playing the guitar.
Tumblr media
And here we are backstage. You put out the camera to take a picture. You were all sitting around, talking about random stuff. He laughed. “Why are you always taking pictures?” He asked jokingly. “Memories” you always answered. He smiled shyly which resulted with this picture. One of your favorite. (Again the cap omg)
Tumblr media
You were at airport, getting frustrated because one of your luggage couldn’t pass for whatever reason. You stayed there for hours, had to take another plane. It was late at night. But as we all know James, he is always making everyone laugh. You were holding the camera in your hand, staring at the people in front of you trying to solve the problem as quickly as possible. James jumped in front of you before making the cheesiest joke just to earn at least a smile from you. “You’re not taking a picture? That’s a memory I want to remember” he joked. You rolled your eyes. He posed like that, so you took this picture. You were going to laugh about it, just not yet.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 ‘Expanded Marvel’s New York’ and ‘Digital Deluxe Edition’ trailers
Gematsu Source
Tumblr media
Publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Insomniac Games have released two new trailers for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2—one introducing the game’s expanded Marvel’s New York, which now features both Brooklyn and Queens, and the other introducing its Digital Deluxe Edition content.
Get the details below.
Expanded Marvel’s New York
In the video, Creative Director Bryan Intihar provides a deep dive into our expanded Marvel’s New York, including the ways we’ve evolved the game since we last masked up and played as our Spider-Men. New locations, updated exploration, exhilarating traversal, near-instant switching between heroes, a rogue’s gallery of villains, new abilities and gadgets, and brand-new Suit Styles are just some of the ways we’re upping the game this time around. So, what’s new? In Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, we’re nearly doubling the size of Marvel’s New York. Expanding beyond the East River, you’ll swing and soar over iconic landmarks across Queens and Brooklyn—complete with story missions, side quests, and city activities! This expansion also means even faster traversal options such as the Web Wings, which can be combined with traditional web swinging to move at exhilarating speeds. Players will also be able to switch between Peter Parker and Miles Morales in the open world, near-instantly thanks to the power of the PlayStation 5. Both Spider Heroes are important characters to the grand story we’re telling in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and each will have their own separate side stories to uncover throughout the city. Help students at Brooklyn Visions as Miles Morales or accept new requests for aid as Peter Parker via the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man app—you can even choose to tackle certain activities as either Spider-Man! Kraven the Hunter and the monstrous Venom join our roster of villains and will strain our heroes, their relationships, and the place they call home. However, they’re not the only two villains causing trouble in the city. We won’t spoil it for you—but our Spideys will need to, ahem, #BeGreaterTogether, to stop them using many new skills, gadgets, and abilities! In Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, we’ve layered on a new set of abilities and skills for our heroes: Pete’s new Symbiote powers and Spider-Arms are aggressive and relentless; meanwhile, Miles brings an electrifying and thunderous quality to his bioelectric venom power, as well as Evolved venom abilities. Mix, match, and deploy these abilities with ease using a streamlined control scheme and combo them in fights in all-new Spidey style! Speaking of style, let’s talk suits! Featuring 65 suits, which include new original designs and fan favorites from films and comics, players will have an expansive wardrobe of costumes to equip in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. We’re also delighted to announce Suit Styles, an all-new feature that unlocks alternate color shaders for some suits, which provide over 200 ways for you to outfit your Spider-hero!
The Digital Deluxe Edition
In May, we also revealed the Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Digital Deluxe Edition featuring 10 exclusive Spidey suits, additional Photo Mode items, and 2 Skill Points. To bring these 10 suits to life, we partnered with several artists across comics, games, and films! We spoke with these artists to give us a little insight into their designs. We’ll be sharing deeper dives into these suits on Insomniac Games’ official social media accounts, so stay tuned!
Apunkalyptic Suit – Designed by Jerad Marantz: Make the best out of any situation with the Apunkalyptic Suit, featuring a low-tech design that shows what Peter Parker can do with limited resources and a strong will.
Stone Monkey Suit – Designed by Victoria Ying: Heavily inspired by Chinese legends, this suit brings an acrobatic and uniquely mischievous design to the world of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. The suit is practical and stylish!
Tactical Suit – Designed by Bend Studios: From Bend’s concept artists Joel Mandish and Darren Quach, the Tactical Suit is inspired by Japanese media and the vast universe of comics. It’s a futuristic and lighter design that stands out in our roster of Digital Deluxe Edition suits.
Aurantia Suit – Designed by Raf Grassetti: The Aurantia Suit is an evolution of traditional Spider-Man designs that incorporates slick and practical spider motifs! Highlights include antennas infused into the mask elements, giving it a stealthy appearance made for Peter Parker!
25th Century Suit – Designed by Anthony Francisco: Featuring an ultramodern design, this suit incorporates a unique fishbowl-like helmet and an array of lights. This futuristic suit sports bulky yet fashionable boots and a sleek design all around.
The EnC0ded Suit – Designed by Kris Anka: The EnC0ded Suit brings a cyberpunk flare to Miles Morales’ wardrobe! If you look closely at the suit, you may spot a few interesting details such as abstract lettering reminiscent of popular phrases from Spider-Man lore!
Biomechanical Suit – Designed by Jerad Marantz: The merger between organics and mechanics, the Biomechanical Suit is inspired by popular anime creature designs, pushing an “otherworldly” style in its use of materials and themes.
Red Spectre Suit – Designed by Sweeney Boo: Let’s paint the town red! The Red Spectre Suit spotlights the young and adventurous nature of Miles Morales. It merges Spidey’s heroic motifs with stylish fashion!
Tokusatsu Suit – Designed by Julia Blattman: This design takes heavy inspiration from the world of insects and live-action Japanese media known as Tokusatsu. The design keeps Miles Morales’ iconic red and black color palette and incorporates a grand sense of Tokusatsu-like heroism!
Agimat Suit – Designed by Anthony Francisco: Inspired by the indigenous tribes of the Philippines, the Agimat Suit is a playful and colorful design suited for Miles Morales. The suit gives off a hint of royalty with its high contrast purple and gold color palette!
On top of all the exciting news today, we’re thrilled to announce a special collaboration with EARTHGANG (feat. Benji) to bring you “Swing,” a new music track featured in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Listen to it first in our Digital Deluxe Edition trailer! For “Swing” and other music from Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, you can listen to the full soundtrack showcasing a score from award-winning composer John Paesano on your favorite music streaming platform starting October 20th.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is due out for PlayStation 5 on October 20.
