,,, kinda wondering how the og gang rlly reacts to Ganymede yk?? Like. He's not so far off of their ages(Annabeth n Percy, not Grover). Yeah, he might be immortal but like. I don't think that would change how his mind works?? He just ... ganymede. Is like. Basically their same age(there's a post bout Greek age ranks, and Ganymede is in the rank of 18 yr old boys, young boys in their adulthood). Yet he's been a god for quite some time. I'm reading "The Dialogue of the Gods" by Lucian of Samosata, and there's this part where Zeus captures the one who will be his new cupbearer........

So Ganymedes tries to convince Zeus to take him back home, and when he realizes that the old man won't let go of the bone, he asks: "Oh but who will play with me? In my house i have playmates my age"

What are your thoughts and opinions on Ganymedes and his myth?

Hmm I don't think I really have any noteworthy opinions, honestly, or at least I haven't tried to articulate my thoughts about him before. On a first glance he is really not a fleshed out character, little beyond the generic eromenos figure, but off the top of my head I can recall two instances in ancient Greek literature in which he gets to speak and that makes him seem more like an actual person. One is Lucian's Dialogues of the Gods, in a horribly disturbing scene that makes me squirm in discomfort and feel so very bad for him; another is in Book 8 of Quintus of Smyrna's Posthomerica where it is clear that even many years after his kidnapping he hasn't forgotten his homeland and still cares greatly for Troy and its people. That, in turn, leads me to also contemplate previous events, the horror that must have been not only to be separated forever from his family, friends, everyone he knew and loved, but to watch them grow old and die while he is forever stuck in the same life stage.

In short I find his myth far more horrific than romantic, that's for sure.

На этом моменте я чувствую необходимость хоть немного рассказать о себе, хотя и не очень люблю и умею в самопрезентации. Зато тебе сразу станет понятно стоит ли дальше со мной оставаться или я не твой человек.

◌ Мне 25 лет.

◌ Недавно я переехала в Сочи из Севастополя. Живу на побережье у подножия гор. Кстати, очень скучаю по Крыму.

◌ А переехала я ради своей большой любви - Егора. Так зовут моего мужа, мы вместе уже больше пяти лет. Он классный парень, но о нем я расскажу позже.

◌ В какой-то момент нам стало скучно в квартире вдвоем и у нас появилось животное судьбы. История кошки Хортицы тоже обязательно здесь появится, как и объяснение, почему ее кличка - это название водки.

◌ Я флорист. Моя работа - ухаживать за прекрасными растениями, собирать их в охапки, букеты и композиции, и радовать ими других людей. Хотела бы я сказать, что я цветочная феечка, но мы здесь не ради лжи и стереотипов собрались. Пытаюсь развиться в этой сфере, сейчас помогаю открыть цветочный магазин другим людям и планирую побег из найма.

◌ Интересов и хобби у меня слишком много, чтобы быстро рассказать обо всем. К тому же часто приходится пробовать что-то новое. Сейчас мое любимое - фотография (ну и что, что на андроид, правда же?), готовка (пять лет в общепите толкают на кулинарные подвиги), писательство (в равной степени с "читательством"), уход за собой и макияж (уж лучше думать, что это хобби, чем повседневная рутина), всевозможное рукоблудие рукоделие. И кстати, распитие винца считается хобби? Бокальчик рислинга или пино-нуара мог бы сейчас сделать из меня этакую Кэрри Бредшоу и этот текст получился бы поинтереснее и побольше (хотя куда ещё?)

Впрочем, не зря я подумала о размере получившегося поста. Кто-то когда-то мне рассказывал, что первый пост не должен быть титанического размера, в нем нужно кратко рассказать выжимку и самую суть (как мы с тобой поняли, я так не умею, или просто не понимаю, как жизнь одного человека можно уместить в небольшом количестве букв).

Но если ты ещё здесь, значит тебе было хоть немного интересно, может мы даже чем-то похожи, и нам будет о чем поговорить в будущем. Welcome.
