So I’m going to provide Potted Fanon Histories, one character at a time. Putting this all into a single timeline was too messy. If you have additions to give, would love to hear them.

Let’s start with Robin One, DICK GRAYSON.

Dick, 8-12: Haly's Circus. (Exactly who is in the crowd is up for debate. Definitely Bruce. Arguably half of DC at this point)

Dick, 8-12: Dick becomes Robin. Exactly how old Dick is for this varies depending on if the writer wants to think about Tiny Child Dick.

Dick, 14-15: Teen Titans get together. The line up of this Titans may vary but frequently looks far more NTT than Fab Five. Garth for instance is almost certainly not present.

Dick, 18-20: Bruce fires Dick or has a massive fight with him (it’s definitely getting fired, Dick does not quit), usually over Dick being attacked by the Joker. Sometimes over Dick being shot by Two-Face.

Dick’s time as Robin: largely an impenetrable black hole. He and Bruce did everything together, they were the best, etc etc. Dick calls Clark “Uncle Clark” and Diana “Aunt Diana”. Only storylines referenced will be sneaking out to try and kill Zucco, and maybe the Hanging Judge with Two-Face.

Dick’s time with the Teen Titans: As likely to just be ‘remembered highlights of Teen Titans 2003 (cartoon)’ as actual comics events, but if they are comics events it’s the highlights of NTT: Trigon, Brother Blood, Judas Contract, plus Snowbirds Don’t Fly. They’re based in New York. Dick’s closest friendship is with Wally.

Optional teen Dick storyline: ‘Dick was Slade’s apprentice!’ via some horrible mashing of Devin Grayson’s Renegade arc with TT03 (cartoon)’s Red X arc. Dick spent 6 months or so under Slade’s mental control.

Second optional teen Dick storyline: AU where he was a Talon

Dick, 20: after being fired/fighting with Bruce, Dick becomes Nightwing and moves to Bludhaven immediately. He is either working as a gymnastics teacher or training to become a cop.

Dick, still 20: goes on a ski trip with Jason.

Dick, 21: probably was a relationship with Kory. They broke up. The reasons why are unknown, or implied to be due to Mirage. If you’re really lucky there’s a joke about the wedding. (yes. Events happen in this listed order)

Dick, 21: in space when Jason dies. Has a guilt complex over this forever.

Dick, mid 20s: tried to kill the Joker at some point. The Joker lived. Little context is given for this other than maybe mentioning that Joker mentioned Jason’s death. This is the single event that has occurred during the 90s and 2000s between ADITF and UTRH.

Dick, mid 20s: is (probably) a cop. Conflict with Blockbuster, Blockbuster dies, Dick is ‘raped in the rain’ by Catalina Flores. Whether anyone remembers she is Tarantula is up for debate. This is the single thing Catalina ever does.

Subsequent to this, Dick’s just…hanging around Gotham and Bludhaven. Not a single event in Nightwing vol 1 after Nightwing 93 occurs. He’s around the Batcave helping Bruce track Jason down during Under the Red Hood.

Dick, slightly later mid 20s: becomes Batman while Bruce is dead. Insert preferred flavour of Red Robin 1 angst here. Battle for the Cowl may happen, but if it does the only aspect of it involving Dick was that Dick was reluctant to become Batman.

Dick mid 20s: raises Damian all on his own! They become incredibly close immediately and Damian never bonds properly with Bruce or SHOULD do so, as Dick’s Damian’s real dad.

Dick later 20s: Spyral arc MAY have happened. It was traumatic. Dick is now back as Nightwing.

Dick, currently: Dick has remained Nightwing since either stopping being Batman or since Spyral. No other events have occurred. He lives in Bludhaven, drops in at the Manor constantly and cheerfully teases his brothers. He may have shared custody of Damian and be living at the Manor with him part time. 

Dick, currently: is in a relationship with pick one - Barbara, Kory or Wally. If in a relationship with Wally, no event in the Flash has ever occurred. Linda who?

Aight you seem like a good person to ask: I have essentually tripped into writing a fic which features Garth as a main character, with some canon divergence due to AU-ness (I just wanted to write a whump one-shot about siren!Dick and now I'm holding half the outline of a romance novel about being an outcast Atlantean and a homeless siren. Send help. Or enabling.)

I know the broader strokes of his character, but I'm hesitant to plot just a whole ass fic on that alone and I'm too broke to buy the relevant comics for reference. I'd appreciate a rundown and/or any fics, posts, character studies you feel do him justice (you're more than free to respond with '...just pirate the recommended reading list' I know I'm asking a lot) because I may have tripped into writing him entirely by accident but I hardly consider that an excuse to write him badly.

Hello! Thank you for reaching out, I do love to talk about Garth and I'm glad I give off that vibe!

However, based on this ask I would actually advise you not to write a fic using Garth as a character. I think the character you have in your plot is probably not Garth, and you will end up either changing your plot to fit him or changing him to fit your plot. Either way, I think the result will not be as successful as it could be. Instead, I think you should write your vision as intended and perhaps use either an OC, or a character you are already familiar with.

I think that you should write about what you like, and what you are passionate about, and what you are familiar with. Aquaman comics already contain mermaids and sirens (I imagine you mean a merperson and not a bird person from classical mythology when you say siren) that exists within the Atlantean world and therefore, you will already be altering Atlantean canon by virtue of not being familiar with those comics. And that is fine! Mermaid AUs are super common and super popular for a reason! They just typically do not contain canon DC lore, simply because many readers are not familiar with it. That said, if you are already not following DC Atlantean canon, there is no reason to use a canon character. If you aren't familiar with Atlantean canon, I would suggest not using it because it can be very complicated.

I would hesitate to use Garth as a major character in your fic, because although I am sure you know his broad strokes there is simply too much nuance in characterization for me to explain how to write him. I do not read any fics that involve Garth for that very reason; I am never satisfied with his portrayal, and it is often pretty obvious if the writer doesn't know him well or is basing him off of fanon posts.

I also write fic so I understand wanting to do a character justice! I think asking for advice is a wonderful first step and it's proof that you care a lot about character integrity. But as you said, the comic medium has a lot of barriers to entry. I would suggest getting to know this character and the world he lives in before deciding if he is someone you feel passionate about writing. There are a lot of pirating sites that I am happy to share where you can read Garth's greatest hits (and I am happy to provide recs, even beyond my posted reading list) Unfortunately, basing characterization off of my meta posts or summarizes is just going to be playing a game of telephone, where the result may not be something that will resonate with fans of the character.

I'm sure this is not the answer you were expecting and I apologize, but I don't think Garth is the other half of the romance in your fic. I think that character exists, either as an OC or an adapted canon character, and I wish you the best of luck in your fic writing journey!

Time to vote for the next villain! Bet you didn’t know I read comics! Or maybe you did because I make fun of Ennis and Millar a lot, and poke fun at Moore frequently. Here’s some weird-ass comic villains I could talk about and also some Ennis and Moore villains I can rant about!

1. A child-eating monster from a horror comic. Pretty straight forward, very fucked up.

2. A racist yellow peril villain that DC keeps bringing back. He started as a giant yellow egg with a prehensile mustache and got worse from there.

3. Fat spineless alien TV show host who likes to harass the X-Men and who desperately needs to be in a movie.

4. The ineffectual satanist sorcerer who tried to make Harry Potter the antichrist. Moore’s stand in for Aleister Crowley.

5. Ancient bacteria colony who invented racism against Mutants.

6. Distant relative of that Other Doom. He is a dentist who wishes to conquer the tri-state area.

7. An anime pastiche demonic one-shot villain that Ghost Rider fought. Has caused much debate between dorks online.

8. The most major antagonist in Preacher, and one of the biggest butt monkeys in comic book history.

9. The ultimate villain of Preacher. Something tells me Garth Ennis isn’t a fan of religion!

10. Hey you know how Ennis loves the Punisher and vigilantism and guns? What if he rolled all of that love into an anti-heroic God-mode Gary Stu who reads like a six year old’s idea of a cool character?

28. What if Dick had adopted Jason Todd instead of Bruce?

I definitely can see Jason becoming Flamebird to Dick Grayson’s Nightwing, I mean there’s not another moniker that would really fit to seal them up as a duo, and he’d succeed Jimmy Olsen and Bette Kane with the mantle. Though it might be awkward Dick Grayson having a teen kid Donna has a tween, so I figure they will just give them more a brotherly relationship anyway, but years down the line retcon if as more father and son, like they did with Dick and Bruce. So Jason is probably gonna get aged down.

He’ll keep his hair red because he only died it for his role as Robin, and he’ll be a generally unlikeable curly haired redhead sidekick with red and yellow themes. Danny Chase would probs never happen, and instead Jason would become a more permanent member but take on Danny’s role since he’s so young. As a new Titans roster starts, he’ll get aged down like Rose and join the likes of Ravager, Impulse, Damage, and Green Lantern.

He’ll probably be the one who’s later retconned onto a team with impulse, superboy, and Wonder Girl instead of Tim, because at this point Tim’s origin story would never happen, although Damian still will because of Talia’s pregnancy and kingdom come. I honestly don’t know if Bruce would take on another Robin, but I think after Barb getting shot by the joker they would include a whole new set of characters to join Batman in his stories because at this point he’s working alone too long.

Jason was never well liked, and I think making him Flamebird instead will still lead to his death, writers will want Dick Grayson to move on with his life and be young, find love, and take on new adventures, so they’d trash him like every other Titan’s child. Garth and his daughter, Donna Troy and Robert Long husband and stepdaughter, Roy Harper and Lian Harper, Wally West and Jai and Irey West.

Since Jason had a costume though, and since Jason came before Danny those two things would set him on a certain path. DC comics kills off babies and children because superheroes having families outside of costumes forces them to have a mundane and nuclear side to the story, and erases thousands of possibilities for their hero. Writing them in is fun and exciting, but they all meet their doom. However, Jason would die in costume, and he’s therefore apart of the mantles history. He’s going to be brought back because his return can be a major plot point.

Second, Jason would take away the role Marv Wolfman wanted for the Titans, Danny Chase, since he appears and even joins the team as Robin before him, as the redheaded fanboy nerd running tech. So like Danny Chase, they would plan out his life according to Danny’s, the Titans would find he actually faked his death and became the Phantasm, then died for real as a villain.

Yet, just like Danny Chase and the other Flamebirds, Bette and Jimmy as Flamebird, he’d probably never make another REAL appearance in the 2000s, fade to obscurity, and become a “what! That actually happened!?!?” Story Like Donna Troy’s stepdaughter and the REAL second robin Lance Bruner.

It’s funny though, no matter what happens he’s still a little kid that dies a hero cause no one likes him, only to be reincarnated as a villain. Poetically Jason would live to be what he’s always loved: a Greek tragedy

Chapter Eight: The Little Mermaid

While Walter cut my hair, I read a book he brought me. “I know it’s a children’s book of fairytales, but there’s a story about a girl from the ocean. She fell—. You should read that one first,” Walter explained as he pointed to the title in the table of contents. “The Little Mermaid”.

I turned to the story and read silently while I listened to the sound of Walter’s scissors near my ears. He turned me around in his spinning chair and lifted my chin with his knuckle. “You’re almost ready for your first shave… You’ve grown up so much,” Walter smiled, “Sorry…”

“It’s alright. I’m on the last page of the story… But, while I’m finishing up, can I ask you something? What do you think I am?” I questioned.

“I don’t know… I’m starting to believe you might be magical. Something that looks human but isn’t… I thought you’d like that story,” Walter replied. I nodded. “Garth, how’s that new trick coming along?”

I shut my eyes and held out my left hand. The water came out of the tank in a long stream, and I fed it into my pool. “It doesn’t take as much concentration now, but I can’t explain how it feels. I can—. It’s like I know where it’s going with my eyes closed. Have you spoken to Roy?” I asked. Walter shook his head.

I hadn’t heard from Roy since that night. I wondered if I scared him off. “He probably went back to school—.”

Someone knocked on the backdoor. “Garth, shake that hair off and hop in your tank,” Walter whispered. I obeyed, watching from behind the glass as he let Roy in. I poked my head out of the tank. “I’ll leave you kids to it. I’ll knock if I see Fisher coming.”

“Thanks, Walter,” Roy replied.

I was so excited that I shot out of the tank and ran into his arms. I hadn’t seen him in weeks. “I didn’t think you were coming back. I read a story about this princess, she was from the ocean like me, and she fell in love, but—. What if I turn into seafoam like—?”

“Hey. Slow down… Sorry, Garth. I took the first flight after school. I’ll be here all weekend, though… And uh—. I talked to Donna—. And—... Well—.” Roy kissed me.

“Huh—. Roy—.”

“Don’t think too much of it. I just—. I think you’re a groovy dude, Garth… And I’d do anything for ya,” Roy smiled, “Wait right here…” Roy ran outside and returned with a record player. I didn’t get to listen to music much, so it always felt special, but something seemed different that night. He put the record on and held his arms out. I cocked my head. “Right… You haven’t—. Do you wanna dance?”

I hugged him, and he chuckled. “Sorry… I don’t know how to—.”

Roy shook his head and took my hands, placing them on his shoulders. He whispered directions of where to step, and once I caught on, I looked up, and we met eyes. I held my breath, and Roy chuckled. “Are you doing this because you feel bad for me?” I asked.

“I respect you too much to pity you, Garth. I’m doing this ‘cause I wanna do it,” Roy replied, “Maybe I—. Maybe I missed you. Maybe I didn’t—. I didn’t know what to do when you—. I get why you like Donna so much. She’s amazing. She’s beautiful, intelligent, compassionate—.”

“You’re not like anyone else. I didn’t like you when we met, but you were so kind that I—. All these feelings snuck up on me,” I interrupted. Roy nodded, taking my hands and spinning me around. “It isn’t strange for you?”

“Nope… It’s the seventies, Garth… And we were friends first. It’s not hard to fall for a friend,” Roy replied, “I talked to Donna for a while. She understood. I didn’t think Donna would. I felt weird explaining, but she said she could understand how I felt… But Donna comes from somewhere where they love different.”

“Walter says there aren’t many people like me in that aspect,” I whispered. Roy ran a finger down my gills, and my ears warmed up. I shut my eyes.

“Does that hurt?” Roy asked in a whisper.

“No,” I replied. Roy leaned forward, and I could feel his lips brush my gills. My breath hitched as I tried to keep my gills from fluttering.

“How about that?” Roy questioned. He kissed my gills and then my throat and my gills on the other side. I pulled away and sat down on the bench. “Sorry, I—.”

“It didn’t hurt… I got dizzy,” I mumbled, “This is happening so fast.”

“Yeah? I can ease up,” Roy replied as he sat beside me. We held hands in silent contemplation.

Almost thirty minutes passed before Roy spoke again. “You’re a lot like Donna,” he whispered.

“You’re kiddin’,” I scoffed.

“She told me—. Well, Donna loved you first. I would’ve been jealous if I didn’t feel the same. I—.” I felt weak and pressed my face into his shoulder. “You okay?”

“I need to take a dip soon,” I mumbled. Roy nodded.

Tears streamed down my cheeks. “What’s wrong?” Roy asked.

“Nothing. I think—. I’m tired,” I replied as I wiped my tears away. “Will you be here tomorrow?”

“Yeah. Of course,” Roy replied. I grabbed his shirt desperately, wanting to be brave enough to reciprocate his affectionate kisses. I knew I wouldn’t know how to kiss him if I tried.

“Do you want to kiss me?” Roy asked. I nodded. “You can kiss me. It’s okay.”

I pecked Roy’s lips, and he chuckled. “Was that wrong? Did I do it wrong?” I asked. Roy leaned forward, parting his lips.

“It’s like a conversation. It’s just—. You just kiss me,” Roy replied. We kissed, and I tried to kiss his neck like he kissed mine. I don’t know if I did it as well as he did.

Roy took his hands and cradled my face, wiping my tears with his thumbs. “Roy, thank you,” I mumbled. He smiled.

“It’s all love, man. You’re loved,” Roy grinned, “Get in your water.”

I nodded and climbed into my tank, watching him leave from behind the glass. “I love you, Roy,” I whispered in the water. I did a backflip in the water and giggled once he left the Aquarium. Walter returned and knocked on the glass. I collected myself before swimming to the surface and looking down from my tank.

“What’d you two kids get up to while I was outside?” Walter questioned.

I could feel myself blushing. “Walter… I won’t turn into seafoam. I’ll be a human. Just you wait!” I shouted before plunging back into the water. It felt like electricity in my body. I hadn’t been that excited since Eunice was alive. Then, it washed away in one quick moment. I resurfaced, frowning as I asked Walter a question. “Eunice isn’t coming back, is she? Dead people don’t come to life again… Do they?”

“No, Garth… I don’t think they do. Do you miss her?” Walter questioned.

“I still want her. I still feel like a baby when I think of her,” I confessed, “She was my comfort. I want to feel that way again.”

“Eunice talked about you all the time. You were her baby. She adored you… Hold onto that,” Walter whispered, “She’d want you to be happy even without her.” That advice stuck with me.

Ramble of the month March 2024: Phase 5 of the Batman Begins-Led DCEU

With April set aside for an autism-centric monthly ramble and February utilised for phase 5 of my 90’s-based alternate MCU, March takes on the role of show-casing phase 5 of my hypothetical Batman Begins-led DC film-verse.  As DC is more prone to content reboots than Marvel, this latest phase will actually ramp up to just such a reboot, with “phase 6” actually being phase 1 of a new DC film-verse.  Unlike the real DCEU, that reboot will be better planned, but first let’s re-cap the previous four phases.

Phase 1:

2005: Batman Begins

2006: Man of Steel

2007: Wonder Woman

2008: The Dark Knight, Green Lantern

2009: The Flash, Man of Steel 2

2010: Aquaman, Justice League

Phase 1, of course, acts as a means of establishing the DC Universe for film fans prior to forming the Justice League.  Phase 2 then builds on that foundation while also causing a schism within the Justice League by adapting the “Tower of Babel” story arc into Justice League 2.  Green Arrow 2 then proves Batman’s point about safeguarding against rogue heroes, which some films in phase 3 follow up on.  Phase 4 then focuses on the falls of many heroes, some of which stay down and some of which return.  However, as phase 4 ended, Hal Jordan was revealed to have gone rogue, which phase 5 will pick up from.  This is how the phase 5 slate would shape up overall.

2023: Justice League: World’s Finest, Nightwing, The Killing Joke

2024: Supergirl, Birds of Prey, Flashpoint

Compared to past phases, phase 5 is only half the size, and while the opening film deals with the issue of Hal Jordan becoming Parallax, most of the other films are one-shots or sequels to tell some interesting stories ahead of the Flashpoint film.  So, let’s start by taking a look at these various phase 5 films.

This film is based on the events of the Justice League story arc The Final Hour, in which the Justice League and others try to stop an alien being called the Sun Eater from devouring Earth’s sun, only for Hal Jordan to ultimately sacrifice himself to save Earth by absorbing the Sun Eater and reigniting the sun.  The film version would be slightly different in numerous details, but by-and-large the main thrust of the story would remain the same.  The League would be the main focus, with Luthor, a few members of future super-team the Legion of Superheroes and a couple of others being heavily featured due to the story arc involved.  The Doom Patrol and Suicide Squad are also featured to lesser degrees during scenes showing the wider crisis in what is essentially a superhero disaster film.

Direction-wise, I’d put this film in the hands of the Russo brothers based on their work for the MCU, especially Infinity War and Endgame in the Avengers run of films.  Indeed, like Infinity War and Endgame, I also gave the Russos direction of Justice League: Armageddon to keep things consistent across both films.  In terms of cast, most cast members have appeared on prior films, with only the characters from Dusk down to Sensor Girl being new cast members coming in fresh on this film.

In the first of our one-shot films, we get a solo outing for Batman’s original protégé Dick Grayson as he tries to clean up the corruption of Bludhaven by working for their local police force.  As the film progresses, Nightwing finds himself caught between local crime lord Blockbuster and a plot involving the infamous Court of Owls of Gotham legend.  Outside Patrick Schwarzenegger reprising the role of Dick Grayson, the cast is completely new to this DCEU, and in honour of his great work on crime-centric films, I’ve picked Guy Ritchie to serve in the director role.

When DC and WB did an animated Killing Joke adaptation, they had the right idea in terms of expanding the story beyond the Alan Moore-written graphic novel.  However, they expanded it incorrectly by having an unrelated preceding 30 minutes that served more to facilitate Bruce Timm’s shipping of a Bruce-Barbara relationship than to make a well-expanded narrative.  This film begins with the Joker being apprehended, hatching his scheme in Arkham, and then a short while later, we get the original Killing Joke plot in the film’s middle.

The end is then expanded, first by taking from a prose novel adaptation I’ve read where Batman laughing with the Joker turns into Batman almost giving in to the temptation to kill Joker.  After this, Joker sees a woman who he thinks is the dead wife from his flashbacks and breaks out to “find the truth”.  When Batman confronts Joker for a third time, the question is left hanging as to whether the Joker’s past was true or not, and a post-credits scene sets up for Barbara becoming Oracle.  Direction-wise, I figure that only Christopher Nolan would do well adapting this material into a live-action narrative.  Casting-wise, the film is mostly existing cast reprising past roles, with only the characters linked to Joker’s back-story being fresh castings.

This film gives us a solo film outing for Supergirl that is partly based on the first season of the character’s Arrowverse TV show.  In other words, we see Kara starting out on her own life in another city and having to clash with her villainous aunt and uncle, as well as Indigo, a time-displaced villain in the Brainiac family tree.  For direction, I’ve picked Reese Witherspoon as I know in recent years she’s taken up production and is very passionate about female-led stories and story-telling, so I think she’d be a great fit to make a directorial debut on a character like Supergirl.

For the penultimate phase 5 film, we’re giving the Birds of Prey super-team their chance to shine, albeit better than they did in the real DCEU.  More comics-accurate castings and character selections, including leaving out Harley Quinn (who, if you remember my phase 4 ramble, is killed off in the last Suicide Squad film).  In this film, we see Barbara recruit a number of street-level heroes to tackle a criminal group known as the Secret Six.  The film follows up on plot threads from Knightfall, Knightsend and Killing Joke, and also uses Cassandra Cain as Batgirl like in the comics, another elements the real DCEU Birds of Prey got wrong.  Patty Jenkins of the real DCEU’s Wonder Woman films helms the project from a directorial standpoint.

During the events of Justice League: Armageddon, Barry Allen’s Flash became lost in the timestream.  When he gets out, he enters an alternate reality where Aquaman and Wonder Woman are at war, and many heroes are missing or dead, including Barry’s speedster alter ego.  Thus begins a mission to learn the truth of why events have changed, and the climax will reboot the DCEU.  While this film simply uses the title of Flashpoint, it’s based more on the DC animated version from the DCAMU as that’s the main Flashpoint story I’ve seen and recall.  Of course, the rest of the alternative DCEU I’ve laid out prior to this film alters some other aspects as well, including how Barry exits the timestream and why history was changed.  Direction-wise, I had to pick Robert Zemeckis just because as the guy who directed the Back to the Future trilogy and the 2009 Disney version of A Christmas Carol, he is probably the best director for anything with a time travel component.

This concludes our phase 5 for the alternate DCEU, and this specific version of the DCEU.  When I do phase 6 on my 90’s MCU, the first (and for now only) phase of my rebooted hypothetical DCEU will be hot on its heels.  So, until next time, ta-ta for now.

It didn’t take long for you to figure out that you needed your own place in San Francisco. The tower was nice, free, had food and friend. It even made work simple. But there was absolutely no privacy besides at 3 am in your locked room and with certain metas, you weren’t even sure that was private.

You been dating Garth for a few months and there had been a learning curve for sure. He was not used to dating land dwellers and you had never dated an Atlantean and that provided a challenge. Garth learned gentle was not actually as easy as he thought. And you found Atlantean biology unique.

On us,” you said, pulling hair from your throat to show him. “There are spots about here and here,” you motioned to your pulse points. “That are sensitive and feel good. “Here?” Garth said, pressing his lips to your throat. You breathed in quickly and nodded. “And here?” He asked before straight up licking the other side. You moaned softly. You nodded and Garth had a mischievous smile on his face. He licked and kissed and nipped at your pulse points until you were holding his shoulders, making little noises.

“I’d say a similar structure on Atlanteans are here and here,” he pointed to spots near his collarbones. “As far as reactions.”

“Noted,” you said looking at the spots. “But they’re pretty sensitive on us too,” you replied before kissing them. You nipped at one spot and his gills fluttered slightly and you pulled back.

“Are you okay?” You asked and he opened his eyes confused. “Do you need water?”

“Why do you ask that?”

“Well, your gills..”

“Oh,” Garth said, turning red. “You know when you breathed in fast when I kissed your neck? That’s kinda the same thing. But we pull from both the lungs and gills. It’s isn’t... weird, is it?”

“No. Of course not. I just didn’t know. The only time I’ve seen you do that was when you needed water,” you admitted.

“It can happen other times...” he trailed off.

“Don’t think twice about it. Just wanted to make sure you were okay,” you said before kissing his lips. Garth tried to pull you on his lap to almost toss you on the floor. You grabbed his shoulder to stop yourself with a yelp.

“Sorry! Again,” he said. “I forgot how light you are,” he said and compared to Atlanteans of similar size, you were probably at least 50 lbs lighter. They are so much denser in muscles.

“It’s okay-“

“Is Garth in your room? We have a mission,” said Kori knocking at your door and you sighed. Garth winced and shrugged.

“Yeah, he’ll be there soon,” you called. “It’s okay. We’ll hang out later,” you said before kissing his cheek and climbing off the bed.

“Yeah.”

It was a few weeks later and you were at the tower alone in his room. A pizza box sat empty on a chair and a movie played on a laptop. But it was completely ignored by you both.

Currently you were on top of him, with your mouth on his. Your hand had slid under his shirt and he was squeezing your breasts through your shirt. You pulled back and pulled your shirt off.

“Hmm,” he said making a little pleased noise before touching all over your bra. It and his shirt soon joined your clothes on the floor and you were flipped over. I’m a little busy..... not a case. Fine! I’ll be in Gotham soon.... I can’t tell you exactly-soon!” You said before hanging up. Garth looked up at you wistfully.

“I’m guessing you’re leaving,” he said.

“Yeah, I’m sorry. I really want to stay but...” you said throwing on clothing.

“Gotham. Batdad?” He suggested and you nodded.

“Yep! Batman,” you said before leaning over Garth to give him a slow deep kiss while holding his jaw. “I’ll make it up to you, I swear.”

“Sure. Be safe.”

It was almost 4 months and the farthest you had gone was shirt off makeout and honestly you were losing your mind. You were never alone. The tower was full. Bruce kept call you for minor Gotham emergencies. You were half a second from blocking him on your phone.

After M’gann had informed you that you think loudly in an embarrassed tone while you were imagining Garth absolutely railing you in the kitchen as you stirred pasta, that was the final straw. You moved out of the tower and it was a little bittersweet. You didn’t have a perfect saltwater pool for Garth to swim in so he couldn’t stay over for days at a time.

But then again, you couldn’t climb into his lap and toss his game controller on to the coffee table at the tower. Garth made a small ‘oh’ sound before sliding his hands up your thighs. You grasped his jaw with both hands and roughly kissed him. You didn’t worry about being too much. He was Atlantean and could handle it.

You pulled back and yanked your shirt off and Garth pulled his off as well before attacking your chest. You held his hair in your fingers as he licked and sucked at your breasts. One of Garth’s hands slid down to unbutton your shorts. You felt fingers move into your panties to play in your folds. Okay, yes. Finally, you thought.

Tim was staring at the ceiling, Dick had his hand over his face, and Jason was looking with a face that could murder. You both moved your hands and you went to get up but Garth stopped you quickly. His face was red and you realized he was obviously hard and only your body was blocking the view.

“What are y’all doing here?” You asked furiously. Jason was now also looking at the ceiling.

“We thought we would take our sister to lunch but I guess you’re pretty fucking busy,” Jason said. “Gillhead? Really?”

“That’s pretty rude,” Garth said with a frown and you felt him tense a little. You placed a hand on his chest to calm him.

“Anyways, we’re going to leave now,” Dick said practically dragging Jason along. “Lock your damn door next time.”

“We’ll call next time,” Tim said quietly.

After the door closed, you sighed before standing up to lock it. You walk back over to Garth with a hopeful smile.

“Back where we were?”

“Lost the urge. Seeing most of your brothers kinda does that to me,” he said and you nodded, sitting beside him.

“Yeah. Next time I am going to lock the door with traps so elaborate that it would make the Riddler blush so no one can come in,” you said and he smiled.

“Now I see the resemblance between you and your brothers.”

“Okay so I rented us a hotel room at a place I’ve never stayed under a fake name I’ve never used before and told the staff that we will have no visitors. I also paid off the bellhops and maid that we were never here,” you said pulling off Garth’s shirt as you walked towards the large bathroom.

“It’s it all necessary?” He asked a little bemused. “Pretty,” he commented looking around.

“They asked if I wanted it romantic and I said sure and they chose this but I can’t say that it doesn’t works,” you said as you both looked at the bathroom. Probably 15 candles were lit on every surface and roses floated in a giant stone hot tub style bath that was steamy with warm water. The room smelled faintly of vanilla.

Garth touched the water with his fingers while watching you pull off your clothing. You pulled off your shirt and shimmed out of your pants and Garth made a little humming noise at the sight of you in a simple shear lacy black set. It wasn’t crazy but was just perfect.

You suddenly felt a little self conscious. This was the first time he’d seen you without clothing on. Garth pulled you close and kissed your forehead and cheek and shoulder. “This might be a bit much but I definitely appreciate it,” he said. His hands ran along the lace around your waist before pulling you close by the ass. “Really appreciate it.”

You pulled at his belt and Garth shrugged his pants and boxers off in one move. Atlanteans were not really prudish with clothing. He pulled you to the bath and you both in while you still wore clothing. You yelped and laughed as some of the water sloshed out.

“I’m still dressed, you nut,” you laughed.

“I can fix that,” Garth answered with a roguish grin. “Shit, I forgot condoms.”

“I’m going to kill you,” you said, glaring at him. “You know what? I’m clean and on birth control. You?”

“Clean as a clam.”

“Yeah, they clean the water around them and everything,” he answered.

“Like I’d say no to that kind of offer,” Garth mumbled, kissing the side of your mouth. He pushed your underwear to the side and before he could do any kind of foreplay, you lowered yourself on his cock. You inhaled quickly. He felt amazing and it had been a long time coming.

“That was something,” you said breathlessly kissing him.

“Do you think we are done? I see a made bed in a hotel room. What an awful thing to waste,” Garth said giving you a look before picking you up leaving a trail of water from the bath to be bed.

YJ EPISODE 14 NOTES… let’s do this (spoilers below)

Dick shows some serious growth since S3. I love that opening scene - Dick asking Kaldur how he’s doing then pointing out that he might need to take a break before his unprocessed emotions break him. He literally says all the things I said in my Kaldur post and I was very happy to hear him say it. Also I really like how dick acknowledges the dick move he pulled of essentially dropping out after Wally died - pointing out how selfish it was of him to leave Kaldur to deal with everything - despite Kaldur going through the same tragedy and more. Dick shows so much personal growth in this scene - he was still not over losing Wally in S3 and it showed in his behaviour - to avoid his grief he focused on the mission. It took Will, Conner and Artemis talking to him at different occasions to help him realise avoidance and detachment doesn’t make the pain go away — and I think that’s what Dicks trying to do for Kaldur now. I love their bond - it’s not seen enough.

Ok this is definitely gonna end up being really long…

I’m so glad I read the tie in comics set in Atlantis before watching - it made things so much easier to follow and more impactful than if I hadn’t. Again I wanna reiterate, if you haven’t read the s1 tie in comics - especially the two set in Atlantis then you really should - 1, because they’re great, and 2, because all these characters are introduced in them and a lot of the dynamics we see in this episode are established from those comics. (Heads up I will be mentioning things from those comics plot in the points below…)

Topo and King Sha’ark are unlikely besties and I’m here for it. A bond established established in the comics after topo saves Sha’arks during the purists ambush - and its a well known fact that saving someone life creates a forever bond - whether you like it or not Sha’ark.

La’gaan playing with Artur is the cutest thing ever and is then immediately out cuteified by the way La’gaan interacts with Coral and later Rodun - seriously how do Grandon do this - I never used to care about romance in media and now - ever since that 7th wheel comment - I can’t get enough of it. They’re throwing all these adorable AquaFamilies in my face and I’m rooting for them all — but that means I’m terrified for everyone because I know something bads gonna end up happening. Just let them all be happy please 🙏

GROWTH!! There is so much growth present in all these characters - it shows how times change and so too do people. (This will probably be getting its own post at some point)

Ronal definitely has some sort of feelings for Lori - he’s a pompous jerk but always a little smitten around her. These two definitely had a dynamic in the comics - he seemed to have a particular distain for her and she certainly wasn’t afraid of fighting back his attacks. Maybe the hate he thought he felt towards her was really unrealised attraction corrupted by learnt prejudices. There’s also a chance she saved his life in the comics when Sha’ark tried to eat one of the hooded purists - though I don’t know if that was actually him since he was still hooded - but maybe he feels a sense of loyalty or indebted to her. Either way, Ronal intrigues me.

I have already posted something about this but since the general consensus was Delphis is around 20yo I’m gonna add some stuff to it… Garth seems to show the smallest bit of interest in Delphis as he’s leaving the council - it’s blink and you’ll miss it but by the rules of animation it’s there for a reason. Someone pointed out on that post that Garth and Dolphin have been together in dc canon so maybe it will become something in yj. I honestly can’t imagine Kaldur taking it too well if they do - it might be a bit cliché but I would totally buy Kaldur still holding a bit of resentment towards Garth for dating Tula after he became Aqualad - now he wants to date his adopted sister — the nerve of him.

Wyynde, Kaldur & Delphis remind me of Conner, M’gann & Gar. I’m living for all these family dynamics — they’re so pure!

I am very glad to see Conner is in fact still wearing underwear - because that would have been a really awkward conversation when Ghosty wakes up — oh and Phantom Girl will now and forever be referred to as Ghosty - because it’s really hecking cute.

I really love all the Phantom zone content we get - it’s really cool to see Conner doing stuff on his own - he tends to be a character that’s always grouped with others and acts as the voice of reason. Here he’s isolated and stuck in the unknown with nothing but his mind - so we’re seeing him in a who new light as he essentially has an existential crisis.

I am here for Wyynde constantly trying to get Kaldur to relax and not focus on work stuff when he shouldn’t have to. I truly love him with all my heart and am absolutely terrified something very bad is definitely going to happen to him and that’s gonna be Kaldur’s breaking point and I am NOT OKAY WITH THAT!! Please don’t hurt Wyynde!🙏

Is Arion following Kaldur ? he was in the algae bar sat at the table next to them - angled perfectly to watch them… what is he up to

Wyynde going from flirty winky face at Kaldur to sad guilt ridden face as he notices Lori sat alone at the bar. I’m gonna keep saying this - but I love him! I also love this whole scene at the bar and I’m gonna go into that in a separate post.

Kaldur punching Sha’ark and no one batting an eyelid because that’s the only language Sha’ark listens to — “I respect your strength, schoolmate”

Nice touch having Samad’s new job being on a fishing boat and loving it while the Atlanteans are almost at war with each other because of the effects of human pollution and overfishing — kinda plays into that perspectives thing that’s through the episodes

It’s nice to see Violet helped Gabriel’s family get out of Qurac and is staying connected with them - or at least with Madia anyway. It’s nice to see Violet has found trust in her - after everything that happened with Jace that psychotic witch, it wouldn’t be surprising if Violet had some serious trust issues.

Conner and Ghosty are really adorable - I love that he’s just talking to her even though she’s unresponsive - he’s a good little soul.

HALO CAN HEAL OTHER PEOPLE!!! This is so cool - I can’t wait to see how else their powers have evolved - I knew rainbow powered Violet was gonna be epic.

I’m here for Lori calling Ronal out on his rudeness and him immediately backing down and apologising to her - these Atlantean dynamics are really compelling and I want more.

The only content I’ve been exposed to which depicts a polyamorous relationship is in the Les Mis fandom so it’s pretty cool seeing an official explicit representation on screen. I already posted something about my immediate reaction to the relationship reveal (here) but I wanted to add on that I love that this is a show where polyamory makes more sense than adultery - and I’m here for it. So much romance in media revolves around jealousy and cheating and confrontation and I just can’t be arsed with it — but La’gaan and his growing family are just so wholesome and loving and sweet and I honestly can’t get enough of it. I wish more media depicted relationships like yj - where they’re not just created for passion and conflict but to actually develop and strengthen the characters — it’s way more compelling. Ok I’ll stop ranting about romance now.

I love how respectful the tone of Violet and Madias conversations are as they explore Islam together. The pacing is soft and light, there’s no sense of an overload of information is being thrown at you - it takes the time it needs. They are really calming moments. I also like that Madia is constantly reenforcing the fact that one must follow their heart when it comes to faith - she doesn’t expect anything of Violet because it’s their decision. I really hope she shows the same respectful positivity around Violets gender identity when they finally choose to open up about it.

Ronal definitely has some unspoken feelings for Lori - he goes to help her up after the attack - I want to know more!

KALDUR YOU ARE NOT FINE AND YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE!!

VIOLET HARPER IS OFFICIALLY THEY/THEM NON-BINARY AND WE LOVE THEM

I kinda figured the promised LGBTQ+ rep would probably turn up in the second half - that is what happened last season (though it was still very light in S3 and I think the Bart thing caused a lot of problems). I think all of it was written well - nothing felt out of place or there to tick a box - everything felt grounded in the canon and not just written to make someone happy (I don’t know if that makes sense). Nothing stands out in a harsh or cringey way (like the beach scene we don’t talk about). This is honestly shaping up to be my favourite arc so far - the pacing is great, we’re exploring and discussing the things I’ve been wanting to see and personally, I like that we’re continuing the other plots as well as - I never feel like they are taking time away from Kaldur and Atlantis.

Over all this was a phenomenal episode back and the other two are just as good. Stay tuned for my notes on episodes 15 & 16, and also some others I’ve got in mind. If you read all this then thank you - I’d love to hear what everyone else thought of this episode, the arc or anything yj.

Hi there, I was wondering what you think of the following hypothetical JLA line-up: Superman, Batman (Dick Grayson), Wonder Woman, Cyborg, Green Lantern (Kyle Rayner), The Flash (Wally West), Tempest, and Martian Manhunter.

My idea is that Clark, Diana and J’onn would be the established, old guard while Vic, Garth and Dick are the new recruits, and Kyle and Wally are the “in-between” generation of once-newbies who earned their respective spots on the team, at an earlier point in their careers - what are your thoughts?

Ps. Grant Morrison and Ivan Reis would need to be the creative team, of course

That actually sounds pretty appealing and a viable line up to star in a major book since with the differing experiences and types of cases, rouge galleries and other plot/story elements Dick, Vic and Garth can bring that into potential for new adventures for the League while still familiar enough to the adventures Bruce and Arthur had prior to the new three members taking their place.

Imagine say, Bludhaven based villain Blockbuster forming a secret alliance with the alien despot Mongul OR Grid, Cyborg’s evil counterpart attacking the JLA Watchtower and computing the League’s weaknesses to his advantage…that’s just two of the many possibilities you can get from a line up like that.

And while Ivan Reis would be a good artist for it and Morrison can give us readers a nice few introductory storylines since the JLA book from back in the day was their foray into mainstream comics after years in Vertigo and one shot stories, for a writer further down the line, I can recommend an indie writer including the likes of Kireon Gillen or Donny Cates, just to see some new talent on such a flagship corner of the DCU.

Or conversely if somehow they can get him back and I had a say in it, I’d convince DC offices to bring back Scott Snyder since Pre-Doom War and Death Metal, his run on Justice League was actually pretty solid stuff. The only reason why I believe it wasn’t as (marginally for my opinion but I digress) strong as say his Batman runs or even Superman Unchained was because he was under a very tight editorial leash that hampered his creativity instead of enhancing it (Ah, Editorial Mandates…guaranteed to foul stuff up or your money back).

But otherwise a lineup combing a new generation with the old is always a great way to appeal to both sides of fandom for any price of media with the right creative teams to execute it. That becomes paramount for the World’s Greatest Superheroes that are the Justice League of America.

For both @titans-trash and @meara-eldestofthemall , I am curious for your thoughts on this?

Okay but re: the subject of wingfic.....picture this....His Dark Materials style AU where instead of kids having daemons who shapeshift until they settle, kids have wings that are constantly shifting and trying out new forms until they settle.

And maybe Dick’s generation is the first one to have this.....like, the DC multiverse is constantly having these universe-altering Crises, that are all metaphysical and unleash and reshape cosmic and universal creation energies....and early in Dick’s tenure as Robin, let’s say the DC multiverse undergoes a Crisis whose resolution has an unexpected side-effect.....at that point forward, teens begin manifesting their like, soul or whatever, in physical or metaphysical form, in the shape of wings.

They first pop up around when kids start entering puberty, and tend to settle around them kinda ‘finding themselves’ as adults....and we’re not talking just bird-type wings. Wings of any kind, any shape, any material. They’re described as ‘metanatomy’ not in the sense of metas having altered anatomy but more in the sense of how metaphysical relates to physical.....these wings don’t have to prescribe to any biological or anatomical rules because they’re not biological in nature. Kory’s people describe the wings as a child’s ‘over-soul’ - a manifestation of their fundamental, individualized essence that’s overlaid on top of their physical self.

So, many wings are bird-like in nature, physically capable of being touched, damaged, healed, etc....but just as many are batlike or dragon-like, they can be just wing-shaped and made of fire, they can be mechanical appearing or insectoid or pretty much anything. There was a period when Dick was around fourteen when his wings were just wispy wing-shaped stormclouds behind him, lightning constantly flickering up and down their lengths as though it were the wings’ veins.....another period where they were just giant sweeping shadows behind him that he could nevertheless fly with, and while he was Robin, they most consistently manifested as bright, gleaming swaths of luminescence that glowed as though they constantly had spotlights trained on them. 

(Which had Bruce paranoid it would just make Dick an easy target, until they realized that a ‘side-effect’ of Dick’s wings when they looked like this was instead of making it easier for the bad guys to train their weapons on him, even the most hardened villains would find themselves hesitating to pull the trigger. Some kind of pulsating, emotion-laced effect of those wings drawing their attention was it was more like moths drawn to a flame....they were so busy being momentarily entranced or hypnotized by the spectacle of them that they were usually a second too late in actually firing....by which time Dick was in a position to strike them first. Well, at least that’s how it went until the Joker managed a lucky shot anyway. But then, when isn’t that asshole an exception to the rules?)

Some wings had little quirks or fringe effects that went with them taking on a certain form or appearance....though those didn’t tend to stick around when the wings shifted to a different appearance, unless a person’s wings settled in the shape a particular fringe effect was associated with. Like when Roy hit adulthood, his wings settled in the appearance of bright red feathered wings with black accents......his wings are fairly small and not suited for long range flight, or even flight in general, as they tend to be more useful in helping him glide in short, quick spurts. But they also come with a perk unique to him....when Roy uses his own feathers to fletch his arrows, those arrows never ever miss. 

In adulthood, Donna’s wings settle as giant bird-like wings, all black feathers with silver specks of stars scattered all across them, same as her Troia costume. They’re like patches of night sky sliced straight out of the heavens, and when Donna’s in costume she’s impossible to see cutting through the dark. Her huge sweeping wings would cast an easily noticed shadow over the ground if not for the silver specks dotting her feathers, but thanks to those, by the time she’s close enough for you to make out her features, distinct from the night sky, its far too late to do anything but go oh fuck.

Wally’s wings are more of a presence than a visual. Hummingbird type things that match his speed but never manage his stillness. Beating at the air a furious several hundred wingflaps per second, so even when he’s standing still he’s far from motionless....the air around him thrumming with movement, humming with vibrations that make it look like he’s constantly surrounded by shimmering ribbons of heat baking off an asphalt pavement. And again, that’s when he’s just standing still. When he actually gets agitated, they hit the air like a thunderclap. Sparks shooting up from the points of contact as the friction of them is so fast and furious it ionizes the atmosphere around him all on its own.

Garth’s can be a bit unwieldy when on the surface, but in the water they make him glide faster and smoother than any Atlantean before him. Stretching out from torso to underarms like the wings of a manta ray, they’re black and gray and streaked with purple like his eyes and the tattoo around it, just inverted. The material of them thick and coarse enough that when he flings his arms out or wrapped around himself just so, the folds of his wings draped around him create a dense barrier capable of shrugging off any number of projectile impacts.

Vic’s are mechanical marvels, smooth and sleek metallic expanses that aren’t dissimilar to Marvel’s Archangel, but where Warren’s feathers are knife-like flechettes, Vic’s host a variety of sensory arrays and feed him all sorts of data. Gar’s never fully settle....they shift as often as he does, sometimes vast and feathered, sometimes batlike and leathery....always green though, and always there no matter what animal he shifts into. He’s never a snake so much as a feathered serpent, a pegasus instead of a horse, a manticore instead of a mere lion, and well, you haven’t lived until you’ve seen Beast Boy take to the streets of Manhattan as a T-Rex with giant pterodactyl wings. Why his wings never fully settle could be due to his shape-shifting or it could just be in his nature.....Gar’s the original Lost Boy who’ll never FULLY grow up.

Raven’s are purple and black on the outside but bone-white on the inside.....like her empathy, they cut both ways. When she pulls her wings tight around her and someone else like a protective shroud, they can shield her and those in her care from prying eyes and scrying magic....when she throws them wide and strikes out with them at enemies on either side, the touch of her feathers is like feeling the cold of the grave. Kory’s are a deeper, royal purple juxtaposed beside Raven’s shadowed inky violets.....but rather than feathered, Kory’s are tall and draconian, imperious and imposing canvases adorned with swirls of red and green like nebulas painted across a cosmic backdrop. Curling emerald flames lick around the edges of them just like her starfire sometimes dances through her hair.....even when ‘ablaze’ her wings are cool to the touch if she invites you to touch them, but touch them uninvited and you’re going to get burned. Badly.

Lilith’s are four enormous feathered wings of green and gold and black spread behind her like the many layered wings of a seraph. They’re decorated in various places with dark concentric circles like those found on peacock feathers....until those circles flare and open wide and you realize you’re staring at dozens of eyes that are all looking back at you.....each a window to your own soul, freezing you in place with a glimpse of your own darkest secrets or possible destiny.

Joey’s are many-hued mosaics, like wings made of stained-glass windows. Hazy and indistinct shafts of rainbow light slanting through his varied ‘feathers’ when he spreads his wings in the air behind him.....like viewing screens or windows they show glimpses, afterimages of everyone he’s ever joined his soul to when riding shotgun in their bodies.....making them forever a part of him, a link he can tap into at will and rendering his power less about possession and more about connection, a forever-door that lets him merge with one of his previously tethered-to teammates, no matter where they are in relation to him. But with the slight change that now what he makes up for in range, he loses in stealth, as his wings show up behind the body of his ‘host’ for as long as he remains merged with them.

And Dick’s wings finally settle in adulthood to sweeping feathered wings of blue and indigo banded with gold.....but where his presence is less attention-commanding than in his younger years, his impact is definitely felt. As his settled wings act as an epicenter for a kind of gravitational bubble around him that’s keyed to his mood.....when he’s lighthearted and in high spirits, everyone around him feels a little bit lighter, purely in a physical sense, gravity within his sphere of influence being a little less heavy, leaving his friends and teammates a little lighter on their feet, quicker in their reactions, etc, etc. When he’s feeling heavy though, his immediate environs feel it with him - though that’s not always the worst result when surrounded by enemies he’s better off having feel overburdened, weighed down, like they’re struggling to get to their feet and the air itself is sitting a little heavier in their lungs every time they take a breath.

What Are Your Dream Supermythos Projects?

* Put Fraction on that Webtoon thing for a Superman strip. He was talking about conversations with DC for post-Jimmy Olsen projects, this would need real talent behind it to not immediately die on the vine, and his formalist kick means he'd probably have the best chance of anybody in DC's rolodex at adapting to scripting for the vertical scrolling format.

* Have Yang and Reis continue their momentum with a The Life & Times Of The Son Of Superman miniseries. Someday somebody's gonna do 'here's Jon's whole journey in one book', they have the pedigree, and Yang's the best DC has in terms of who could nail the obvious central concept of Jon as a second-gen immigrant learning about his background, the forces he'll face in the world, and growing up to make different decisions from his dad about how to be a part of that world and how to help it.

* A proper Lois Lane ongoing, or at least her fronting a Daily Planet book.

* An anthology mini for Jon; I'm sure you could get plenty of creators interested in doing a few pages with their spin on Lois and Clark's kid across the assorted stages of his life.

* Okay so I just now started reading On A Sunbeam and yeah let Tillie Walden do literally whatever she wants with Superman if that would happen to be something she would care to do.

* An ongoing anthology for the Superman family ala Batman: Urban Legends.

* A Lois and Clark romance book from McKenna Jean Harris.

* Superman and Superboy meet All-Might and Midoriya.

* If Morrison is in fact consulting on the Superman books beyond doing the bare minimum to line up Authority, given PKJ is using the House of El already a big Superman Squad story based on the abandoned All-Star spinoff, since the ideas for the other two became Morrison's Action Comics and The Just.

* Once the current runs are done, give Action to Brandon Thomas and Son of Kal-El to Dan Watters.

* Sarah Leuver did some DC work so hey, give her a book to play with.

* Publish Superman & Lois: Ignition.

* I wouldn't have thought of Dan Schkade when thinking naturals for Superman, but after David Lynch's Superboy give him something stat.

* Someone somewhere do something interesting for once ever with Conner Kent.

* Give Maggin a Black Label book to do whatever he wants with.

* We're talking pure dream books, let Marguerite Bennett do a full Superman of Remnant spinoff mini or oneshot from RWBY/Justice League.

* An all-ages ongoing, good lord how long has it been

* Absolute Action Comics, with the assorted artists coming back to redraw the armor as the real suit.

* T-shirt Superman is out there wandering the multiverse, do a mini or oneshot or something with that guy.

* Mandatory 'whatever Doc Shaner, Al Ewing, Dan Mora, Jamal Campbell, Bilquis Evely, Christian Ward, Garth Ennis, Mike Huddleston, Tula Lotay, Chris Samnee, Jonathan Hickman, Fiona Staples, or Juan Ferrara would want to do with him'.

* In terms of pals nowhere near the big two I'd love to see get their shot anyway, Deniz Camp and Charlotte Finn.

* The heck with the AAA studios, do The Lego Superman Game.

* We're about to have Hoechlin, Jordan, Calle, Routh, Cavill, and whoever'll be in the Coates movie operating at around the same time, do a Superman Beyond movie.

* A big animated movie to go with Spider-Verse and Lego Batman. Maybe an anthology thing.

* Superman & Lois but moved to HBO Max and with Todd Helbing removed as showrunner. Really any prestigey ongoing Superman show, but I'd trade the prestige for keeping Hoechlin and Tulloch.

* An Adult Swim Jon Kent series aimed at older teens.

* Do the Tartakovsky short.

* More Superman novels! It's Superman! shouldn't have been a one-off in swinging for the fences there.

* Someone dig up/restore The Multipath Adventures of Superman.

Dc heros having a social media presence because of a slow crime night or nothing at all is just beautiful.

You got Hal over here with the younger heros just throwing shade at villains.

Joker is just a free targets for bats to talk that mad shit about it, and nobody except for Punchline would take up for the clown who brought shame to all in gotham.

Harley also join in with the bats.

Barry would show his science fanboy to millions, Hal will tease him and get a million "meet me at a denny's parking lot" from fans.

Bruce just fucks with his followers posting like "10035211" for no reason but see people try to find a meaning in nothing.

Bruce also tweets out random pics of his teammates with him all grumpy in the corner of the photo with captions being like in his famous picture of him in the corner of the pic and clark talking about something and the captions are "@/LutherOfficial can you build a mute button for the annoying alien..." And the like.

Diana has a low profile on social media but when she tweets the fans acts like she's water in a desert and they drink that shit up even if it's just "Batman where are you?"

Clark does goof around on his page but mostly he post about saving earth by going for more earth friendly ways, and he shows so passively aggressively shows people how easy it is to recycle... He also recycled lex once but we don't talk about that.

Damian only post about Animals and his demonic pet.

Dick post only basic bitch butt pics do not tell me he wouldn't because he would.

Tim be making threads about the shitty behavior people in power have.

Jason post one bathroom pic shirtless asking if his scars are ugly and gain a thirsty following. We are talking about him passing up batman himself and yes he pours lemon in those wounds.

Duke has a thread about burger chains he likes. He's is wholesome because he wants it to be, his official civilian account is where he goes wild.

Wally west i and ii both have souvenir tours

Bart and Thad share one account because Bart beg for it and Thad wanted it to be pretends he hates it.

Cassandra posted a video of spoiler saying she's a lesbian and a very tired Tim says the famous lines "lesbian I thought you were american" vine never died it just became Cass.

Stephanie lives to her name and spoils shit for that aesthetic brand.

Kon and Jon had a sibling fight between their account and Kara had to stop them.

Bats had a fight two but it's so often it's nothing special. Oh red hood called Nightwing a hoe, what's new?

Roy is just as much as a dad on real his account, he just doesn't mention her name.

Lex posted his plan to twitter and Superman retweeted it Saying "this is twitter not the dark web lex" in which embarrassed the villain.

Lex ask for Superman the childs support for their son.

Their "son" ask publicly for 20 bucks and got shot down by both of them, however his rich leather egg lookin' boyfriend lend him that 20.

Jon and Dami talking through twitter is so cute everyone talks about them.

Donna just tells everyone that Nightwing is an annoy prick and nobody believes her sadly and he annoys her with that. Sibling from another family bs.

Auther is that surfer dad.

Garth and kaldur just vibin' with their brain cells their teammates don't have because they took them.

Nobody knows if raven is mentally okay or just sharing some poetry that slaps.

Starfire is a target for how she dress showing... Skin... She is a bad bitch and savagely answer the sexism with replies that are facts. Her body her choice.

One of my favourite issues of comics ever is that one issue in The Brave And The Bold (#83) that’s from the late 60s and in which Thomas and Martha have this family friend or business partner and they signed this legal document in which if they [family friends] were to die, their son (little boy named Lance Bruner) would have to stay with the wayne family. And so one day, the Bruner couple dies, and their son is left orphan. And of course, the document didn’t say Thomas and Martha, instead it said Wayne Family, which is at this point, Dick, Bruce, and Alfred. And Bruce of course can’t say no, and he doesn’t even want to (which tells you a LOT about Bruce’s character towards children and just people in general). 

So it turns out that this Lance kid is around Dick’s age (who is with the teen titans, with Roy, Wally, Donna, and occasionally Garth) is a complete troublemaker. He vandalizes police cars and does other stuff, and guess who takes the blame. Dick.

And he [Dick] tells the teen titans that he does it because Lance needs a friend, which could be true, and they all decide to befriend Lance, to see if he like ‘straightens out’. 

As you may guess, that did not go well. Lance flirted with Donna, in quite a disrespectful manner, and he was a literal jackass. 

And then Lance pulls this thing with a great amount of money, and THIS brings Bruce’s attention, because the police came to the manor, and Bruce is just talking to Lance in the living room, and Lance is just lying over and over, saying how the money was from his parents, that they had left the money for him, in cash, you know the drill. And literally in the basement, the hang-out place for the teen titans, Dick and the titans are there and they’re listening through a vent and they’re like ‘oh my GODDD how is bruce FALLING FOR THIS?!” 

and this just gives me a lot of happiness overall because you can see their characters, and for someone that reads rebirth comics or new 52 (especially new 52), they’ll look at it a bit funny and go ‘well this seems out of character, no?’ and NO! because bruce actually loves his kids!!! and the whole idea of the batfamily, the FANON IDEA OF THE BATFAMILY, in which they’re all getting along and being a FAMILY, would actually be CANON if ONLY dc hadn’t massacred their characters so much. So yeah, hang on to those headcanons. 

At this same time, there’s this thing going around in Gotham with the oil supply I think, and Batman has this deadline to like,,, solve the case. Whatever

I just paid attention to how beautiful this issue is for all the domesticity and the writers actually writing Dick having a BROTHER, and Bruce adopting another kid. It’s just so fascinating and disappointing because how on earth did ANYONE let this happen, Bruce now hitting his kids so often, being such a dark and angry person. ‘Broody’ some say. Because let’s face it, Bruce has that whole ‘dark and gloomy’ persona, because of Gotham. It’s been said so often, that ‘Bruce is Gotham’ ‘Batman is the night and he only wear black’ and all that thing (Also keep in mind that Bruce’s uniform/costume wasn’t even black, it was blue- purple in other runs- with yellow and gray). 

(also can i please bring to attention that Bruce has actually- here, look at it. 

Don’t tell me this bruce is completely different from the ‘hrn’ bitch we have now)

As I was saying, there’s the oil case in Gotham, and nobody wants that, and Lance is begging for forgiveness, that he’ll ‘be good’, he says. 

And he IS. For a while.

Now bruce is fighting with some guys that have a lot to do with the oil thing, and in that one, Lance is like “wow Bruce and Dick do leave the house quite often, eh?” And then -catch this, it’s literally my favourite thing about comics- Lance finds a button in the elevator, and he goes “WOW! a super-secret button that leads to a super-mysterious place??? wack!” and then he finds out Bruce’s and Dick’s identities. 

Not such a great boy after all, right?

Long story short, and I’m summarizing it because I actually know little of the actual vigilante plot, but Robin gets shot.

“that boy meant more to me than anything in life” Do you understand what I’m trying to tell you? Just let that little line sink in for a little, just... let it sink in. Bruce has just seen Robin get shot. And this happens. 

Later, though, we find out that ‘Robin’ had actually been Lance, so in the end, Lance died, in the same literal issue he was introduced.

This was Lance as Robin, but Bruce didn’t know this. Bruce was convinced that Dick was dead. And did you hear what he said? God...

Dick had overheard you talking to Donna, and you had revealed to her that you had developed feelings for him. Dick was a little bit surprised, although in hindsight, he supposes the signs were there. When you went on to reveal that you should probably just move on, because you don’t think Dick could like you back in that way, Dick felt like he has some clarification to do. He knows he can be pretty stoic and hard to read at times, but he very much feels the same way about you, he takes knowing that you have feelings for him a sign that the two of you should talk. He approaches you later on and you get to have a private conversation to to clear the air and be open about your feelings for one another.

You had actually expressed your feelings outright to Donna during a small argument. You were part of the original Titans team, and found yourself getting jealous when Garth and Donna started spending time together, especially since you were well aware of Garth’s attraction to her. You confessed to being in love with her, and that you couldn’t hide it or keep it to yourself any longer because your jealousy was driving you crazy, and actually causing a bit of a rift in your relationship. Your confession shocked Donna, but she was more shocked at the fact that you thought she didn’t like you back because she liked Garth. She would scoff at you, telling you you’re the one she’s actually in love with, not Garth.

Jason had walked in on a conversation you were having with Rachel and Gar, where you had confessed to having a crush on him. Or, it wasn’t really a conversation, and more of a relentless teasing from Rachel and Gar, who were trying to get you to make a move. Flustered, you shot down the idea, thinking that there was no way Jason would like you back. Jason immediately interrupted the conversation, and you were embarrassed at the fact that he overheard the whole thing without any of you realizing. Jason would be quick to correct you, grinning at you as he tells you that he’s liked you ever since you met. He would tease you, but deep down he’d be ecstatic at the fact that you like him back.

You and Kory were catching up after being apart for a while. You had stayed with Dick to help train the younger Titans, and Kory had gone on her own journey. You had confessed to missing her a lot. When you elaborated, you revealed you had been in love with her for some time, but you never told her because you didn’t think she loved you back. Kory was surprised by your confession, but more surprised at the fact that you didn’t think she returned your feelings. Kory is a pretty forward person, and she thought she was clear about her feelings towards you. She thought about all the things she could tell you, but instead, she just leaned forward to kiss you, showing you that she did love you back.
