Gem in an Eye, sometimes referred to as the Witch Lady, is the sixth Iterator built in the Eo group. i was originally gonna call her Gem in Eye as a pun on Gemini (initially inspired by the song GeminEye by The Megas), she was also supposed to be nearby Notos on the map and have that classic witch cap n be a lil mad

she said No to that so now she is mainly inspired by the greek witch goddess Hecate. here's she n her voice claim (song: Čerešne [Cherries] by Hena Hegerová)

her iterations often include crystals and botanical stuff. Fish is the one who can tell you about all the spiritual effects of a wheel flower, but his knowledge started in studying Gem's notes which he later expanded upon himself and She is the one to go to if you need to know how to grow a wheel flower naturally, basically. she also likes making poisons out of her flora and, unfortunately, poisoning wild animals that are an annoyance to her. to see what will happen while also getting rid of them

she became the local puppet maker when Gen 2s started coming out. so she Did make Fish's puppet, but not any Gen 1's

she has dull claws specifically to help her with this craft- the organs and such of the puppets are grown first and slowly she integrates the mechanical parts to them during it, all in her labs. when this main naked body is finished, the whole thing is sent to her chamber where she frees it all and puts on the plating, while checking over for any imperfections in the insides like a cog not entirely sitting right and such. after this she paints on the mark/markings and drafts skin on top of all that, waits till it grows over the whole thing, puts it into a new safe fortified test tube n sends the thing on its way to the new Iterator structure

she's a close "friend" of Expiation n Spore and is the main reason why Notos ended up having to manipulate Spore to get into their friend group and right Gem's bastardness to actually help with Mission Self-preservation

even though the Mission would've helped Spore with her fungi sickness, Gem didn't give half a shit n was content to just sit back n let everyone else do the work while she iterates as normal n reaps the Mission's benefits this disgusting manipulative kind of shit she does to Moon too, but only in that giant global Gen 1 chat so it isn't as pressing as what poor Spore is going through cuz of this younger bitch

it's sort of impressive that she manages to manipulate Iterators older than her, cuz Itties have a strong sense of need to follow, listen and respect their elders, usually. hierarchy machines ✊😔 doin smth like this isn't supposed to be really possible

ok so these past four songs i got sent by people, now i'm terrible at reviewing music but in no particular order here goes:

not really my thing but definitely good, i like the lyrics it's just too slow to be something i'd normally chose to listen to i'm sorry 😓

i think this is my favourite out of all them, i always really gel with bop wriggly songs to jam and shmoove too as well as songs that are basically just stories being told with music

i love microwave too though, it has a great balance of silly goofy that i like in my songs as well as ough lyrics y'know? very cool that fallow said this reminded em of me i like that

this is also a bop but i can't help but compare it to french perfume 😭 like this is also a bop wriggly song with kinda a story so i really like it it's just missing that violin and banjo guitar thing, the story this song tells is less clear but that's totally intentional i'd say, like it's a mystery it's really neat how they did that it's cool :D

i dont know the actual source material of GeminEye by the Megas but whenever i listen to it ive got a nonsensical idea about two androids created as twins and seperated to keep the "kill your double" programming from kicking in but the two are like. inherently drawn to each other. and #1 becomes a detective and #2 starts having nightmares/premonitions about being killed so he seeks out a private investigator (#1) to find his would-be killer. and as they work together they feel like kindred spirits, perfect partners in this line of work, filling out eachothers skills or lack thereof. but their sense of self also starts to fade and their individual memories start to blur together and the kill your double instinct begins to activate. and they both grow more and more paranoid of each other as theyre both having these visions of death and they look so similar its impossible to tell who is shooting who and neither wants to believe theyre the killer. and they both think the other is setting them up to be alone so one can kill the other. n i havent decided like who kills who n what happens n stuff.

BUT ALTERNATIVELY its an android created by a less than reputable company made to Look Like a man who has been snooping around their illegal practices, and the same series of like. theyre very similar and cant find any records of like either of them having a lost twin or anything but feel like kindred spirits. and android still hires the PI to find his would-be killer but his sleeper agent assignment of killing the PI starts to activate, same cycle of suspicion but without the PI getting any of the memory blending, just regular old (warranted) suspicion. to the point that the PI Hires a killer to take out the android, PI leading them to like an empty warehouse under the guise theyd find the killer there which isnt a lie exactly, but the android is onto him and the programming starts to take the full effect. and he kills the PI, takes his place, and when the hired gun arrives he tells them he dealt with the target himself. and he takes over the PI's life and stops investigating the company that created him.

history repeating red is objectively the best pretty much every song on it still gets me hard every time. blue too slightly less so but only cuz it feels like more of the songs on that one are kinda silly and fun. and snakes is 100000000% their best EP if it wqs a full album THAT would be my number one because there are No Misses except the enhanced evolution of circuitry feels maybe a little less bassy than the original but it’s still Awesome and i Adore it.

i’m not the breakman or melody from the past are probably Objectively their best songs or lamentations of a war machine but the mixing on get equipped drives me so insane i unfortunately can barely listen to it i NEED them to do enhanced versions of that whole album STAT. but i think my personal favorite might be ummmm tough to decide maybe fly on a dog? cuz it’s the perfect example of my favorite things about the megas’ lyrics cuz the title and chorus are inherently silly he is using a dog as a vehicle but them the rest of the song is EXTREMELY FUCKING TRAGIC AND HEARTBREAKING. afraid of the dark is definitely up there too [<- biased] and in seventh grade i did an analysis of the haystack principle for english class. gemineye was my favorite right when i first discovered them when i was twelve and it still holds a very special place in my heart. continue also always breaks me i want to cover it so so bad. cracked skulls also kicks so much ass i wish they would do a full MM4 album and albums for every other classic game:( but i love their music so i’m excited for their full castlevania album they announced a long while back

since the megas is basically part of How i got INTO megaman in the first place (combination of listening to the megas and reading the archie comics when i was twelve and giving myself irreparable brain damage) it ABSOLUTELY has influenced my opinions on the robot masters. though i think their quickman is best read as “not being played totally straight” like i don’t Like a serious quickman i think it suits him better if he’s so full of himself he’s Pretending to be like a lone sheriff THAT’S fun to me that seems like something he would do. the megas made me like bubbleman as more than just a joke like promise of redemption is kinda sad i love it. plus i love love love love the metalman they portray in metal dance it is so fun my interpretation of metalman doesn’t have a fun screw in his body but i do ADORE that.
