Ocean Banishment Knot Spell
"What ever it was that required banishment, be it an illness or some other undesirable situation, a knot charm could be employed by tying knots, as many as there are troubles, or aspects to the trouble, into rope, cord or string, and touch these each to the thing to be banished, or a symbol thereof. The knot charm is then taken to the shore where it is buried at the mark of low water. The operator will then walk away and must not look back or catch sight of the spot for at least twentyfour hours."

Betwixt, Middle, & In between
I have just come to e realization that I have been witnessing several synchronicities over the past several weeks but didn't put it all together until only about a half hour ago whilst reading "The Devils Dozen" by Gemma Gary. I'm going to take the time now, to info dump about all I learned and with that being said, I believe, I am finally on the correct road for me and my practice. I'm finding the crooked path to resonate very deeply with me and I'm finding the connection that I was lacking with wicca and other practices. Now, on to the post.
I have noticed that the song "Stuck In The Middle With You" by Stealers Wheel has been playing on random a lot when my vvitch sister and I are together. Furthermore, I've noticed that the word middle and the phrase "in between" has come up multiple times as well in our previous discussions and random statements I've heard from others around us.
In the craft, betwixt, middle, & in between verbiage is used quite a lot. The in between is the space between the "mundane" and the magical. In traditional/folk craft, the middle/in between are very prevalent. The stang is used to represent the witch father/horn god/bucca/etc. There is talk of the light betwixt the horns, which again represents the liminal space between the "mundane" and the "magical" worlds.
I have already preformed the first of "The Devils Dozen" rights and have been visited four times by the witch father. I first encountered hi during the invoking ritual. He didn't say anything directly but I could feel his presence and he was pleased with the the offerings I gave him. Directly after the ritual, I walked into my mud room and a horned figure was stood out my door that I just caught a glimpse of before turning on the light. I, naturally, was startled and shut the light off again but the figure was gone. However, I knew it was him.
The next encounter I had, was while i was doing chores around my home and suddenly was overcome by a heavy energy that scared me and swore I saw another figure on the corner of my eye while alone. However, I pulled out my tarot card and pendulum as calmly as I could and was given a pretty clear message from the witch father to continue my studies because I had been neglecting them. I believe he may have been irritated with me but he was pleased by reaction to his presence and deducing his message promptly. How do I know this? you may ask, well.... I cant really explain it. Its just a feeling, the energy suddenly lightened and the witch father's presence left shortly after the energy shifted.
There were two more encounters, one that happened right after the first rite and one that happened recently but I prefer to keep those to myself for now. However, I will say, that both these encounters happened while i was BETWIXT a sleeping and awake state. They were full deep energy that felt as though the air was electrified and warm. It was very surreal and the feeling itself was both intense and amazing.
The fact that, the in between keeps showing up in my life and the recent visit from the witch father, leads me to believe that I am not only on the right track, but a big break through is immanent. Even before writing this post, a phrase entered my thoughts. This phrase was "Comme Ci, Comme ca". This phrase is French for so-so or neither good nor bad. This can be seen as, yet another representation of the in between. As above, so bellow. I'll post some photos bellow of that show some representations of what I've spoke about here. Things are truly getting interesting.

'Raising the Stang'
"From certain branches of the Craft, the stang has arisen to such prominence as to arguably have become a prime cultic emblem of modern traditional witchcraft', in perhaps the way the pentacle or the athame have become emblematic tools of the Wica.
The origins of the stang of the witches, and its point of entry into the Craft cannot be stated with any great certainty, and so will perhaps forever be the subject of mystery and debate. The 'stang', as a witches' ritual 'pole', topped with two or more tines, is of a form recognisable in many 'woodcuts' and other old depictions of witcherie, in which a forked poleobject may be seen employed by witches in various magical or ritual acts.
Numerous forked wooden implements have their varied uses within folk-magical and cunning practice; for ritualistic, divinatory and operative magical purposes.
The stick or staff is anciently depicted in the possession of witches, magicians, Cunning men and Wise women, but it is, however, cognate with wand, and thus traditional magician's hand-tool of both ritual and operative magic; for the conjuring of spirits, the raising and directing of powers, the drawing of magical circles, the banishing of evil and the blasting of wrongdoers.
The stang however, as employed in many branches of the Craft, is not a hand-tool of operative practice, but an item of pure ritual symbolism. Within such usage, the witches' stang is a consecrated hallowed item of power low and and which is stood within the ground, either at the circle's centre, or at its edge. It isfor this reason that some branches of the Craft 'shod' their stang with one or more iron nails to prevent the power within it from draining out into the earth; following the old tradition that spirits and magical power cannot cross a barrier of iron. Iron is itself seen, however, as a potent magical tool which, according to usage and intent, can be used to direct and impart magical influences as well as acting as a barrier to halt them. Thus the act of 'shodding the stang' is made with the appropriate intent, mindful of the directional nail pointing upward into the shaft of the stang, and therefore a barrier to any downward draining flow of power. To do such a thing however to the wand or conjuring stick/staff would not be desirable, for it is its purpose within
many magical workings to allow power to flow through it, or to be directed from it. Whilst both may be forked and share some symbolism, the conjuring stick and stang are quite distinct in their uses.
Foremost, the stang may be said to be an image of the Old Horned One; the tines of the fork of course being cognate with the horns, and an altar of the Mysteries. As a representation of the Old One, it is not merely an image, but a charged vessel, for the power raised and stored within it is that of the Old One himself, and it is at the stang that the manifest presence of the old witch-god is called forth.
In form, the witches' stang is often the traditional pitchfork; with its shaft of ash, that most magical of trees, and topped with two or more tines of iron. This is of course a most fitting representation of the old witch-god, for its hand forged iron-work we may see as evocative of the old blacksmith; the witch-god as Tubal Cain, and the knowledge of the artes of agriculture and husbandry of the land given by the Old One unto man. In magical thought, iron is also a manifestation of the telluric fire, and the stang is also seen in some branches of the Craft as the Old Serpent of the earth, raised and forked of tongue, to pour forth its power unto the circle of the Wise.
The ritual shodding of the stang is an act further emblematic of the old smith, the tradition of the stang as the horse, the fire of creation/gnosis fallen from the heavens and the serpentine telluric fire - thus in the shodding are the worlds above and below united.
As both a representation of the witch-god, and an altar, the stang is often set to stand at the northern edge of the circle; a direction often regarded in 'Old Craft' circles as a portal or gateway to the numinous, spirit presences and the otherworldly. So placed, the stang is representative of the witch-god as keeper of the way between the worlds; the psychopomp guide of the witch going forth, and of otherworldly virtues and presences entering into the circle or arte. As 'the horse' the stang represents the vehicle of power and spirit ingress and egress; the bearer of spirit forces and divine presence, cognate with the lore of the wild hunt and the horse as bearer of the witch god and wild hunter, chasing spirits between the worlds. As a vehicle of spirit, and opener of the ways to the death mysteries, the stang is also the initiatic tree of sacrifice; the tau cross.
Although a prime Craft symbol of the old witch-god, the stang stands in union betwixt the female and male mysteries within those traditions that set female symbols to the left of the stang, such as the cup or horn, and the male symbols to the right such as the iron blade. In union of these dualities, the stang may represent either, or both, the divine androgyne and the divine 'child of light'. The Old One is himself a god of duality; reflected throughout the seasonal cyclic tides of light, and dark, waxing and waning, life and death, via which each of his faces is revealed. Further dualities are brought into union in the stang stood within the ground; heaven and earth, the physical and the spiritual, ‘as above, so below'. The theme of duality and its uniting is potently depicted in the 'horns' of the twain-forked stang, united at the single shaft. Here, at this point of mystic union, the lantern or candle is sometimes affixed; emblematic of the light of 'All wisdom' arising from the realising of 'One Pointedness' or that 'All is One'."

This is the Devil’s Share oil for the ointment I was working on the other day and it came about because I spent 13 consecutive months working through Gemma Gary’s Devil’s Dozen a few years ago, and I’m contemplating doing that again with some changes that reflect where my practice is now. Finding a churchyard in Texas to spend the night in was challenging and that’s the most you’ll ever hear from me about that particular rite. What happens in the churchyard stays in the churchyard. But all of the rites in GG’s book are built upon the first, where you disavow whatever Christian ties you may have, and calling upon the Devil, you dedicate yourself to Him. It’s a beautiful ritual and still one of my favorite workings ever. GG doesn’t call for an ointment in her ritual, but as I was thinking about changes I’d make for the next time I do it, I thought that I’d want to do it naked and that I’d want it to feel a little orgiastic and wild. So I collected some of my favorite plants pleasing to the Devil, along with a big fistful of Balm of Gilead to make an unguent. It’s a little sweet and sultry, and I used a bit of that precious oak moss I collected last spring along with other devilish herbs and roots. There’s nothing mind altering in here, except that these plants all belong to the Devil and smearing them all over your naked body while you dance and ululate and howl at the moon is going to make you feel like a wild beast while you make union with the Horned God. I’ll have a few for the restock, but I loved it so much, it’ll be in stock permanently after I get back from Sherwood. (Mirall Bruja is going to steal this content, as she does with everything she sells so keep an eye out for her bullshit.🖤)

Wisht Waters: The Cult & Magic of Water
So grateful to have this exquisitely bound, special limited edition of Wisht Waters by Gemma Gary. When this book first came out via Three Hands Press, it was an indispensable friend to my craft--I worked with it more than 3/4 of my collection, and carried it with me nearly everywhere. I made the fatal error of lending it to someone, and of course, never saw it again.
When I saw Troy Books was doing a special printing, I screamed --shrilly, to the chagrin of those around me. What a delight to hold this *gorgeously* bound version in my hands once more; I feel as if a lost friend has returned home. And how special to have it signed by the esteemed author!
Joyful day. A homecoming.

An unexpected Visit
Let me tell you about a time Black Phillip, The Folk devil, The Witch Father, Dyvil, however you see him fit, visited me unexpectedly.
I was on a date with a man, we decided to head to the woods to sight see, as you do.
We decided to sit upon a fallen tree, it’s sturdy bark. As done so, a finch sat on the branch beside me, looking at me in disparity. In curiosity as to why my attention is sought on another man other than himself.
What i didn’t know is i would be kissing this ‘date’ a few moments later… we’ll get to that soon.
At the moment i spotted this bird, my head was laying on the man, in comfort. The Folk Father was obviously displeased of him, sitting besides me in his featherly form staring at me in an almost disbelief look. He knew i didn’t love the man i was with, he saw i was wasting my time and love on him. Disappointed as he was, he disappeared, never seen again after that.
The moral of the story is, do not go into the woods where you do your general offerings for the spirits for a date! The father of spirits will not approve, instead he disapproved.

Ocean's 8 (2018)
Ocean’s 8 (2018)
⭐⭐⭐ Rating: 3 out of 5. ‘Ocean’s 8’ drops all the men in favour of a scintillating cast of women. The new all-women setup puts a fresh perspective on this heist franchise. As you’d expect from an ‘Ocean’s’ movie, this film has some great set pieces on planning the robbery. Because the film’s central characters are all women, their conversations mix the usual hustle talk with fashion, shopping…

"It is very tempting indeed to see a link between the ancient sacrificing of metal objects unto the other world, via water, by first breaking or bending them, thus placing them beyond usefulness to the every-day world of man, with the popular practice of bending metal pins before dropping them into holy wells. Certainly, the one time practice of bending coins given to the Church, setting them aside from normal usage and marked out for the spiritual, seems to follow this theme."

Considering adding a DNI/Please don't interact for Bucca/Folk devil syncretists. Continued ignorance isn't my problem to deal with on this blog, and I'm not going to expend all of my energy explaining why Cornish Celtic deities are not synonymous with english + wider non-celtic figures.

'Infusions of Virtue'
"Both the wild hedge-row, and the working garden, provide the green-doctor with highly virtuous worts whose potencies may not only be employed within the creation of charms, or for burning to issue forth their powers within magical rites and workings. These gifts may also be made great use of to prepare potent infusions to give their virtue, aid and strength unto the needs of body, mind, and the spirit.
Here follow but some of the various worts and their virtues enjoyed within West Country infusions;
Bramble Leaves
The Leaves of the Bramble, or Blackberry, are good for the trearing of cankers or ulcers in the mouth and the throat.
Camomile
The Camomile is good for the soothing aching stomachs, for ulcers and for the pains of teething.
Elderberry
The ripe Elderberry is good against phlegm and for the suffering sinuses.
Elderflower
The Elderflower is good for relief from fevers, and with honey it is good for chills.
Melissa
The Melissa, or Lemon Balm, is good for the treatment of depression, arracks of anxiety, and for the circulation.
Mugwort
The Mugwort is good for colds of the head.
Nettle
The Nettle is good for the digestive system and works against pleurisy and infections of the throat.
Pennyroyal
The Pennyroyal makes an elixir to be drunk for enlivening of the spirit and against fatigue.
Periwinkle
An infusion of the Periwinkle will encourage passions and love within those who partake of it.
Rosemary
Infusions of the Rosemary should be applied to the scalp to ward against hair loss and to encourage strong regrowth. Some say that the potency of this infusion is enhanced greatly by collecting the water to be employed from the hollows in the roots of great Beech Trees.
Sage
Infusions of the potent Sage should be drunk regularly for good health, long life, and to ward off lethargy.
Thyme
The Thyme is good for the treatment of sore throats, headaches and insomnia. Valerian The Valerian creates an infusion that will draw love unto its drinker."
