Gendry sighs exasperated and amused. “Arya-“

“Because I am a taken woman. Happily taken.” Arya slurs drunkenly, looking down her nose at him. Which is ridiculous when one considered their height difference.

“Is that right?” Gendry questions.

“Yessss. He’s big and he’s strong and he’s handsome and he’s got a big dick and he’ll totally beat you up.”

Gendry laughs despite the heat blooming in his face and neck. He reaches for her as she stumbles a bit and when she looks up at him again it’s like she’s seeing him for the first time.

“Oh hi baby. Where ya been?”

Gendry chuckles shaking his head. Pulling her into his arms he picks her up.

“Come on you dork, let’s go home.”

Arya grins. “M’Kay.”

An extract from my new Gendrya story

Beautiful Gendrya people, I'm leaving this little piece of my next story here to hold myself accountable and actually finish it.

Over half of it is already done and this one will have some action, hiding and running around between the cute parts.

“No way!” Arya exclaimed, turning to run upstairs.

“No, wait. Please, please wait.” Despite what her rational brain was telling her, the urgency in the man’s voice made Arya stop.

She looked back, the man was approaching with his hands up.

“Stop right there!” Arya yelled, holding the fire poker in front of her.

The man stopped at once, still with his hands up.

“Who the fuck are you and what are you doing in my house? You have 5 seconds.”

“I’m Gendry and my friend here is Podrick.”

The man pointed to the electricity thing. A ‘Hello’ came out of it.

“What?” Arya asked more to herself.

“You can see him if you move to the front.”

The Gendry guy had said that as if he was pointing out a bird on a tree and again, despite her brain saying ‘Leave!’ and how ridiculous this man sounded, Arya heard herself saying, “Back, all the way to the wall.”

The Gendry guy obeyed without complaining. Arya then walked to the front of the basement, still holding the fire poker with conviction. The shock of what she was seeing made her lean on the table behind her.

A second man was right in front of her and behind him, there was a place that was definitely not her basement.

If the day ever comes when Gendry would rather wield a sword than forge one, send him to me. He has the look of a warrior.

Lord Eddard is able to escape the city with his daughters and any of Robert's bastards he can find. Gendry becomes one of Winterfell's guards and Arya's sworn shield. He remains a rather poor horsemen though.

i just saw someone say, well actually write, that "oh, lay my sweet lass down in the grass/my featherbed" actually forshadows a future sansa and gendry relationship (🤮) and that sansa and gendry are far better suited for each other than arya and gendry... did we read the same books? what's new this time is that this person was not a stansa, (who are notoriously known for trying to steal every plot point or relationships of arya stark ((and even dany)) to give to their fave) nope, this person actually had a hateboner for the baratheons, (fair actually, robert baratheon was a despicable man) but it's pretty ironic to hate gendry because of that, to that person: guess what character would probably piss on robert baratheon's tomb alongside you? yup, gendry, after his parentage gets revealed to him, i pretty much can see him breaking something in pure anger over this, also at this point in the books, gendry has no relation to the baratheons, he's just a no name bastard at worst and an outlaw knight at best, so why would someone put a baseborn outlaw bastard knight who hates nobility with a passion (with two known exceptions) with one of the most classist nobles to ever exist together in a romantic way? gendry was already class conscious with arya (one of the most progressive nobles to ever exist) and she never cared about people being born on the wrong side of the blanket as the text puts it, why would you do my boy gendry like that? it is because the books gave sansa as "love interests" joffrey, the hound and littlefinger, which are shitty choices and rotten men but i digress.

so lets take a song that pretty much describe a noble girl not wanting to conform to the traditional idea of noble marriage with everything it follows but still want to be together with her loved one and it's willing to defy societal norms with her lover by her side if he accepts to and lets give it to a noble girl known to thrive and excell at following all the norms of the traditional society has for girls and women in westeros... at least make it made sense

Since leaving the North to attend the most prestigious fashion school in the South, Sansa has had a made a lot of mistakes. Leaving the safety and protection of Winterfell, which has been the Stark family estate for hundreds of years, was one of them. Making the wrong friends and trusting the wrong people was another. But dating Joffrey Baratheon was the worst of them all.

When Sansa drops out of school, and leaves her dreams behind to hide out in the Vale with a scandal-plagued Joffrey, things go from bad to worse. What started out as the occasional shove or insult from Joffrey has turned into black eyes and broken ribs.

Miserable, missing home, and done with Joffrey — and with love — Sansa leaves the Vale in the middle of the night and heads back North to what’s left of her family (plagued for generations with a curse, Stark men never make it back past the Neck if they journey South); a curse that has already claimed their father and their big brother Robb.

Sansa never expects Joffrey to follow.

When she finds herself dragging her ex-boyfriend’s dead body out of her childhood home (specifically, the greenhouse floor, where he dropped dead the second time, not the kitchen table, where he died first) and through her mother’s magical garden, with her little sister late one cool autumn night, she knows she’s really, really messed up.

It isn’t until two (very handsome) Federal agents show up the next day looking for a missing Joffrey, that Sansa begins to think the family curse is alive and well and about to get her arrested for murder. That is, if Joffrey doesn’t get her first.

Featuring two witchy sisters bonding over murder and magic, a mother still grieving her dead husband while raising two teenaged boys on her own, and dealing with her own mess of a sister (and her sister’s sheltered young son) a rowdy Rickon, who’s as wild as their uncle Brandon used to be, an observant Bran, who may possess magic to rival all the Starks put together, and a pair of Federal agents who are about to meet two women who will change the rest of their lives (if they don’t get them killed — or fired — first).
