Castiel's somehow been coerced into attending the biggest Hollywood party of the year-his brother Gabriel's Halloween party. It's not his scene, but he figures with Charlie and her girlfriend there, at least he won't be alone. Dean Winchester is looking for a bit of anonymity and Gabriel Novak's party presents the perfect opportunity. No one will have a clue who he is and he'll get to spend one, blissful night as just another guy at a party. Everything changes when Castiel loses his cell phone.

Dean and Castiel meet at a Halloween party. They have a drink together, each unaware of who the other is and then go their separate ways. But life finds a way to bring them back together.

This fun story starts as a meet cute at a Halloween party. The characterization is on point, and the chemistry is off the charts from the moment these two cross paths for the first time, even though they're both in costume (no spoilers, but their costumes are awesome!) It also includes their first date, which is just adorable! I really enjoyed their flirting and playful banter, and I liked that though the story is mostly lighthearted, there are hints about the hardships each had to overcome to reach this point in their lives. As a bonus, several of our favorite characters make an appearance in this (Benny, my beloved), making the alternate universe this is set in feel more alive and vibrant. I would recommend this story to everyone interested in something soft and cute.

Like yes ElMike exists this way and it is for a reason and it does represent something. I think the biggest thing I see is the idea that if a storyline doesn't have the theme or meaning someone thinks it does then it just doesn't have one. Untrue

okay but you see sam has ALSO fallen for dean's act. sam also believes dean to be the macho, daddy's soldier, beer boobs cars guy he presents himself as. this is why sam makes fun of dean whenever he even lightly steps out of that mold and thinks it's harmless banter instead of attacking an insecurity. it's why he laughs when john talks down to dean in the early seasons and it's why he seems surprised when dean is more comfortable with himself in the later seasons. it's why he just scoffs but doesn't push it when dean puts up a front and refuses to talk about his emotions and just accepts whatever excuse he makes at face value. it's why he offers dean a strip club to make him feel better when cas dies. and this isn't his fault!! dean has spent a very long time perfecting this image in front of everyone and ESPECIALLY to sam because along with it comes safety and security and stability and the only person. who has consistently been able to see through it. is castiel

I love Suptober. The lists get published and the creativity starts to flow and if you didn’t already know it, the Supernatural fandom is overflowing with creativity and incredible creators, and Suptober is one of the best times of the year to showcase that talent. 

This year has brought us so many stories and new art already, and we’re only a little over halfway through. One of those stories is The Ber Months. Now, I’m a sucker for photographer!Dean, so this was an easy one for me to choose, but having photographer!Cas too is just the gift that keeps on giving. The Ber Months is about two men who share the same passion for photography, but who look at it in completely opposite ways. Dean has a more jaded lens, wanting to share the raw reality of the world they live in, even at it’s darkest moments. Cas wants to share the beauty and joy in the world, the love people have not only for each other but for life itself. Together they are tasked with creating a fall themed coffee table book, and during the journey, they find something in each other. 

It’s a sweet story with incredible imagery, and Dean’s pov as he figures out a new way to see things while sharing a lot of fall themed moments with Cas. If you’re looking for a warm story that will make you want to visit a pumpkin patch and drink something warm, then The Ber Months is the fic for you.

Season 3 to me as a casual viewer of Stranger Things at the time was about how Mike and El dating was mutually exclusive with them being friends and Mike viewed it that way, causing him to "not know how to treat A girlfriend" despite knowing how to treat EL. To remedy this and ground them in their personal relationship to each other again, they had to break up.

That's it. That's the post. That was my passive analysis as someone who watched the show for the lore. At the time, I thought it was to teach them a lesson about their relationship that they'd take into it upon getting back together and they wouldn't have issues anymore, but seeing as that wasn't true

This is the biggest platonic ElMike endgame proof to me. Season 3 was about how Mike and El being friends and them dating do not coexist successfully. Instead of treating this as a lesson to apply romantically, season 4 cemented that. And the entire show is about prioritizing friendship and what friendship means since episode 1. Friends to lovers is the story of how deep of roots friendship can plant. Lovers to friends is a story of how important friendships are and how they take priority. It's always been about friendship.

Season 3 is the biggest platonic ElMike endgame proof there is. Because a casual viewer had not a single doubt in their mind.

Also idk maybe it was too subtle but. when oppenheimers wife takes him by the shoulders and says, “stop trying to make people pity you for the sins you committed” like. I just kind of figured that was a pretty explicit indictment of his actions and makes me struggle to take the “Oppenheimer is just a movie about a sad white mans feelings” arguments in good faith.
