Confused about Generation: Outlaw. Normally as fandom we’re very pro Jason+kids, but not these one for some reason? I’m mean there’s a few fan works that include them, but on the whole they’re not popular. Which is weird because even if you don’t like either rhato run aspects of them still make it into the fandom space. So why not the kids when it aligns so well with popular fanon?

I think the problem is that their not memorable. Which is weird to say about characters who are: anthropomorphic DNA, A literal genius baby being carried everywhere by her zombie mom, a doomsday clone, a girls whose mental state reflects the kid of weather she’s manipulating, and a cyborg who eats metal.

Conceptually all of those characters should be memorable. But that’s also five brand new characters, who only last six issue. You never really get to know any of hem beyond what their powers are in that time.

But like why didn’t we get to know them? Should there have been less of them? Did those books just need different pacing? Cause I feel like a lot happened i that arc, but I don’t really remember what happened.until Vessel broke into their base of operations. which was only the last one or two issues of that arc.

 . . . I think I just discovered the problem. Why get attached to the characters if the plot to go with them was unmemorable?

this is one of my aus i have with morro. the outlaw! umh. in short terms, basically he survived the caves and went on to roam the sea of sand. eventually built up a reputation as a mysterious ruthless outlaw. holds a mega grudge against wu. "you doubted me, ill show you what i can do" type thing. god complex. leads up to a s5-esque thing where he kidnaps lloyd for ransom to lure wu out. they fight. its a final battle type thing. the outlaw ends up dying. Oh also um He Is The Green Ninja. WHICH sucks for everyone. as you can imagine.

- he ages strangely bc of dragon dna though.

- whenever he shows up somewhere theres a strange red mist on the horizon :^)

- even tho hes the green ninja he still primarily has wind powers. i like to think being the green ninja is more of a destiny type of thing, and it doesnt Give You powers or effect your already existing powers. lloyd just Happened to have ..whatever the fuck his powers are. he didnt get them from being the green ninja

- he has spurs on his boots as a little hint to the fact that hes ruthless and uncaring. spurs hurt the horse so theyre commonly frowned upon.

Unlike Lydia Lunch, I did meet literary bad boy and proto-beatnik Herbert Huncke (9 January 1915 - 8 August 1996 – born on this day 109 years ago). Or at least I had a fleeting encounter with him. Like so many twenty-somethings, I went through a Beat literature phase. Huncke (who was on intimate terms with and a primary influence on the likes of William S Burroughs, Allen Ginsberg and Jack Kerouac) gave several readings in London in the early nineties which I worshipfully attended. (I also managed to see Ginsberg). Huncke was a spellbinding raconteur with a worldly-wise WC Fields-style delivery, and so desiccated he suggested an unwrapped, upright ancient Egyptian mummy. After one reading, he autographed my copy of The Evening Sun Turned Crimson (1980). I can pinpoint exactly when because Huncke wrote the date [26 October 1994] above his signature in surprisingly pretty, swirling handwriting. #Padmé is ABSOLUTELY the sort of person to believe in doomed love #but she believes in doomed love in like... the romance novel way #she doesn't see them as romeo and juliet she sees them as as chad mcrichguy and whitegirlname character from space book forbidden desires #which is to say that padmé fundamentally believes in the all-conquering power of love #and is SURE that sooner or later they'll get together #she's completely incapable of conceptualizing herself as genuinely in unrequited love #because she has trouble with narratives that don't fit into her strict rules about How The World Works #part of that is because she's too young (especially when she first meets obi wan) to really have any experience that forces her to grow #and part of that is because she was born into such a HUGE position of privilege (esp compared to like... the general galaxy) #that no one around her could teach her context #when she gets to tatooine in TPM she's shocked that there's slavery because the republic has outlawed it #now granted she is fourteen and an idealist #but at the same time #is it really so hard to believe that a girl who believes that the republic is an effective and fair government #and that anything can be fixed if you work hard enough and believe in yourself #would grow into a woman who believes that love conquers all #asks #anon #obidala #padmé amidala #star wars #star wars au
