Isn't it annoying?

Fred sighed as he lay back on the bed in his and George's shared room, waiting for George to return up the stairs with their food. After a couple of minutes of waiting, Fred sat up and went out of the room to listen down the stairs, he could hear his mother lecturing George. feeling a bit protective of his brother he went downstairs to get into the middle of this. "my brothers would have never been hiding in their room! not spending time with their family!" Their mother screamed at George making George groan "Mum for the last time we are not hiding away, Fred has a headache so we are staying upstairs till it goes away!" he said trying to stay calm knowing if he raised his voice their mother would find more reasons to yell at him. "Gideon would have never talked back to me like that!" she shouted making George groan he was holding the plates of food while trying to hold the cups while he did. Fred watched for a few seconds knowing George was getting overwhelmed "George what is taking so long mate, you trynna kill me?" Fred said rubbing his head and walking over to George grabbing the plates of food while George held the cups. "your brother tells me you have a headache Freddie would you like some potions to help with it, darling?" Molly said changing up her attitude seeing as Fred actually seemed to have a hurting head. "it's fine mum I just wanna relax for a bit" Fred said moving towards the stairs and making sure George was behind him.

The whole way to their room George remained quiet staring at the ground as he sat down on Fred's bed, "why does she always do that" he muttered as he put the cups on the side table beside him. "what compare us to our uncles?" Fred said jokingly as he sat beside George handing him his plate and making George sigh and nod. "isn't it annoying? She keeps comparing us to them we only met them once before they died, they are amazing but it's totally uncool to be compared to them all the time" George said with a groan as he played with his food. Fred nodded along with his younger twin "I know but that's just how mum has always been, remember when she yelled at us for turning Ron's bear into a spider. She went on and on about how they would have never done that to her." Fred said with a chuckle before eyes the way George was playing with his food "Eat George or I'll shove it down your bloody throat" Fred threatened as he ate some of his own food eyeing George who looked at him offendedly. "I will! it's just that mum always makes the stuff I dislike" he said with a groan as he forced himself to eat the food.

"I wish they were still here truth be told," Fred said with a gentle smile making George chuckle and nod, "they were amazing greatest pranksters to ever exist," George said making Fred agree. HOWEVER ON THE OTHER SIDE "Our babies agree with us we are the best of the best" Fabian said hugging Gideon tightly "True that, they come a close second. The marauders a third" Gideon said making Fabian nod and sit next to the two who were talking about random pranks they should do once they go to Hogwarts again as they eat their food. "Molly needs to relax on them," Gideon said with a frown, the two were talking and following George when she began to yell at him. "She changed so much," Fabian said with a sigh Gideon agreed as he crouched beside George "I hated this food as well it was simply horrendous when Molly made it," Gideon said with a shiver.

"Y'know Freddie why does it feel like we are being watched" George said with a shiver making Fred look at him with a raised eyebrow. "because you have stalkers that are simply mad for you Georgie," he said with a sarcastic tone making George look at him offendedly once more.

Percy headcannon that when Gideon and Fabian died Molly was a huge mess and Author was barely home. Charlie and Bill were in school. Going by the photo in OOTP. Her brothers were alive in July 1981. So I feel like they died August 10 and the emotional pain led to the early birth of Ginny on the 11th.

He was already helping a bit with the twins before. The moment Ron was born they were sorta pushed towards him. He taught them how to walk and talk. George’s first word was Percy. Second Fred. Fred’s was George. Second was Percy. Ron’s first word was also Percy. But sounded more like purse then pierce till at 4 he finally said Percy. Bill and Charlie helped out as long as they could. But they had to go back to Hogwarts. They say Percy down and told him he had to be strong and Brave like a true Weasley. They he had to be a Perfect kid for Mum and help her out cause she needs help. That he had to step up and help. They both felt guilty but very relieved when they went back to school. Cause at least they could get away.

Molly would have trouble to get out of bed. Percy would do a lot of the childcare despite being 5-6. Molly didn’t even think of who was caring for the kids. Even new born Ginny. Thankfully Percy watched his mom make formula loads of times.

He would get the Babies up first as they were easier to handle then the twins. Get them fed and changed and put in the play pen in the living room. Then he would make breakfast for himself and the twins plus Molly. He would bring hers up. Tho she didn’t eat half the time. Then drag the twins down and the three would eat in the living room so he can keep a eye on the babies. And then he would clean up as the twins played. He would then busy himself with the kids. Feeding and changing when needed. Trying to get the twins potty trained was a mess. Molly put it off cause she was so overwhelmed with twins and two infants.

He also had to build a barrier in the living room cause Ron was walking and the twins were sprinting. He would sometimes yell at them to stop. Cause he’s a little kid and scared they would hurt themselves. At lunch he would put them all down for a nap. Clean up. Cook lunch. Bring some up to Molly. Bring down the barely eaten breakfast. Which would then be his lunch. He would make lunch for the younger ones for when they woke

Meal times were a hassle with all 4 awake. The twins would make a huge mess. Spurned on the more Ron laughed. Ginny had to be hand fed her bottle and Ron his baby food. More food ended up on Percy then in his mouth.

The twins would be super energized in the afternoon and just go batshit crazy. If you’ve met a toddler you know what I mean but times 2.

What made everything worse was for the first few weeks of this the kids would start crying for Molly but she never came. Sometimes she would hold Ron and Ginny but sorta refused to look at the twins. She would also tell Percy what needs to be done. To tired to realize. He’s just a little kids. Way to young to care for a premie infant. A baby and two toddlers.

Molly would come down and make dinner. It made her feel like she actually did something. Arthur would come home and eat some times or just after the kids have eaten. If he came home that day. Half the time he was a no show. It was Percy’s favourite part of the day. Almost like things were normal. But after she would go right back to bed. Arthur would either go to his shed. Back to work. Or join her upstairs. “I’m trusting you to watch them for a hour or so Percy, your so mature it’s like your a adult!” Tho it was never just for a hour.

Percy never complained. Or cried or fussed. He just assumed that this was how it was. And on the rare occasions that he was thanked. It made him grateful. He also wanted to make life easier for his Mom.

After dinner was hard. He had to clean all four kids. Make sure they were bathed. Hair brushed. Teeth brushed. The scariest was Ginny cause she was just so small he was terrified. But he managed. The twins would make a huge mess while bathing. He would get the babies down first cause the twins would take the longest. The babies would sleep in his room in case they needed him in the middle of the night. He would also read to them while showing Ron the book. Helping to teach him to read. Once down. He would wrestle the twins into pjs. Every glass of water they needed. How many stories they asked for. They would finally go down at 10pm. Way later then they should be. He would then spend the next few hours fully cleaning up. Not because everything was messy but he developed ocd and anxiety. A mess left today was doubled tomorrow. He would also meal prep and deal with the animals. And handle the garden gnomes. Finally going to bed at 2am. Crying himself to sleep from stress. Only to wake several times to feed and change the babies.

This would go on for Months. Slightly getting better as time went on. By the time he went to Hogwarts she was taking care of the younger 4 again tho whenever he was home they would go to him. Till he kept trying to be perfect. She continuesly comparing her kids and rifts forming.

Years later once he was back with the family she still doesn’t acknowledge how much he did for her and the others. Even tho there are questions she can’t answer. Like milestone questions.

Even when George jokingly asked when he was potty trained and she didn’t know but Percy did

One day he will realize how cruel what happened was. And part of him will never forgive his parents

Even if they could have, they were a bit busy with a war, blood feuds, secret organizations, and trying to pass their OWLs. Oh, and let’s not forget, a sickness that seemed to only be affecting muggle-borns like Jess and Lily.

Percy Weasley Headcanon

Oh boy. I literally just made this account to post this.

Percy is a fervent rule follower. Throughout the series, from what little bits of Percy we see, it is clear he values rules at an esteemed level.

What if this is because when he was younger (Before Voldemort was defeated), he was taught that rules were to keep you safe and if you didn't follow them, you and everyone you love would die.

As we know, Molly Weasley (née Prewett) had two twin brothers, Gideon and Fabian Prewett, who died fighting deatheaters in the First Wizarding war.

Molly taught Percy to follow the rules of the house so that he (and Bill, Charlie, Fred, George, and Ron) would be safe from deatheaters.

Rule #1: Don't answer the door.

Rule #2: Don't wander out of the garden.

Rule #3: Keep Fred, George, and Ron out of trouble.

Rule #4: If you hear fighting, run and hide. Don't be found.

These rules, as well as the danger that came with breaking them, were drilled so far into Percy's head, that even in his later life, he is very fanatical stickler for rules.

Some of my Marauders era/Harry Potter Headcanons

Professor McGonagall was considered a patient teacher until the Prewett twins and the Marauders, so when the Weasley twins and Prongslet started Hogwarts, she just knew it would be a chaotic repeat of events.

"Well, thank you for that assessment, Mr Weasley. Perhaps it would be more useful if I were to transfigure Mr Potter and yourself into a pocket watch? That way, one of you might be on time."

Of course, we can't forget Ron. He was just as much Gideon and Fabian as Fred and George, but to a lesser degree.

He's brilliant and gets a lot of hate for always making Hermione cry (which im totally not ignoring)

Ron is an important part of the trio, even if the movies do kinda portray him as a replaceable, dickish, himbo, carrot top cunt, who purposely hurts Hermione.

THAT'S OUR FOODIE GINGER SNAP BABY RONALD, OKAY!?!?!???

We respect him in this household, even if we sometimes wanna kick his ass so hard he begins to think he's Viktor Krum.

REMUS LUPIN FOLDS HIS SOCKS

He did it as a child and a teenager, but he carried the habit into his adult life. It made him feel in control of something in his life.

He was just like Sirius, but in his own way and he catches so much shit because he was a death eater and did bad things.

Before he was marked, he was a boy who wanted to make his family proud. After he was marked, he wanted to escape.

He defected to the good side, but he died before Sirius could know the good thing he had began. He was just a boy.

Draco heard stories from his mother about Regulus and based many of his best traits after his cousin.

He treated house elves with respect, mostly when Lucius wasn't around to influence him. When he had nothing to prove.

He didn't care if they were like Dobby or Kreacher

He simultaneously hated his father and wanted him to be proud, so he took the dark mark at sixteen

Much like Regulus did

He also wanted to defect. He didn't want to be a killer. He didn't want to die.

He was just a boy.

Hermione carried on the soul of Regulus

I will die on that hill.

She was born a few months after he died and they were very similar, except for the obvious differences (blood status, house, family life, you get the gist)

We all know about S.P.E.W.

Regulus would've been the FIRST official member if he had been alive

Lily introduced her pureblood friends to muggle fashion

In fifth year when she saw James in a pair of tight pants, she almost fell out right in the middle of Hogsmeade

After that, she forbade Sirius from letting James borrow his clothes ever again

For self-preservation purposes, I like to pretend THE prank never happened. If you know, you know. If you don't, I can't explain or I'll cry

Marlene McKinnon = blonde Sirius with boobs

Hermione, Remus, and Lily are the voices of reason amongst their friends, while also being just as bad as them in a more subtle way

"Now, if you two don't mind, I’m going to bed before either of you come up with another clever idea to get us killed or worse. . . Expelled!"

BUT ALSO

I just know James was sitting in the clouds, laughing his ass off while Lily told him to hush

She was also fighting laughter

Revenge often came in the form of a brilliant muggleborn witch

Sirius craves violence. . . And chaos

He would love when witches or wizards got mad, especially at him.

That shit turned him on faster than Remus fresh out of the shower

Sirius and Marlene yelled at eachother like siblings

Meanwhile Remus and Lily were sipping tea like some high society in-laws at Sunday brunch

Sirius LOVED Abba, but refused to admit it, even after Lily caught him singing 'Mamma Mia' under his breath. . . In the middle of class.

I SWEAR I had a point to this. I started writing HCs and then I started rambling??? I could ramble forever, honestly.

What do you think about the headcannon of Percy being a Prewett instead of a Weasley?

Context: During the first war the Prewett twins, Gideon and Fabian were in a safe house with five other adults. Molly was somewhere else.

Anyways one of them (I picture Fabian but it doesn’t matter which) had a short thing with one of the others there and eventually lead to them becoming pregnant. A couple months later baby Percy is born but his mother dies from the childbirth, since giving birth in a dingy old house, cut of from the rest of the world, in the middle of nowhere, with no medical equipment and no one with any proper medical training is not the best thing ever.

Percy grows up in the safe house with them, with no one to visit them, except a few Order members who come to give updates on the war. Molly and Arthur don’t even know Percy exists.

When Percy is five, death eaters storm the safe house.

He’s the only one to make it out alive.

He’s also too young to clearly remember much, so not wanting him to go through the grief of growing up without parents, Molly and Arthur decide to adopt him. Also, unrelated but Percy is about 3 years younger than Charlie and about 5 years younger than Bill.

*rubs hands together excitedly* I have a lot of thoughts about this, so get ready for a long rant.

Do I think it's canon? Probably not. JKR has a nasty tendency to make it very clear when someone is part of a found family (instead of just writing them as family).

What do I mean by that? Well, one example is the Epilogue:

“Our Teddy! Teddy Lupin! Snogging our Victoire! Our cousin! And I asked Teddy what he was doing— ” “You interrupted them?” said Ginny. “You are so like Ron— ” “— and he said he’d come to see her off! And then he told me to go away! He’s snogging her!” James added as though worried he had not made himself clear. “Oh, it would be lovely if they got married,” whispered Lily ecstatically. “Teddy would really be part of the family then!” “He already comes round for dinner about four times a week, said Harry. “Why don’t we just invite him to live with us and have done with it?”

I know Lily is a child, but JKR wrote a pattern of people "needing" to marry someone to officially be part of the family (such as Harry marrying Ginny & Hermione marrying Ron).

Because of this, even if Percy was Molly & Arthur's nephew, I still think JKR would have made that obvious in the books at some point.

Even if Percy was 5 when he moved in with Molly & Arthur and didn't remember anything about his life before that (which is possible), Bill is actually closer to 6 years older than Percy, while Charlie is closer to 4, which would make them about 9 & 11 when Percy was adopted. They definitely would have known the truth, and while they may have never said anything about it, it's unlikely that it was a secret that everyone would have been able to keep from Percy indefinitely.

As a result of Percy finding out (at some point), it probably would have come out during/after the argument, because it would have been natural for Percy to have conflicted feelings about it, particularly when Arthur is acting like Percy would betray his own family, and it's likely that someone (Fred, George, Ron, etc.) would have piggybacked off of that afterwards because they were hurt that Percy left.

That being said, Harry is an incredibly unreliable narrator, so it's definitely still possible!

Now, do I personally enjoy the headcanon of Percy being Fabian or Gideon's child? Yes. I think it's a super fun concept to play around with, and it gives a lot more depth to all of Percy's interactions with the Weasleys.

Even if Percy didn't know the truth for a long time, I think he would have subconsciously remembered another parent (because he was 5 when he was adopted), so he probably would have had some confusing feelings that he didn't fully understand and didn't talk about.

It adds layers to Percy's desperation to be accepted by Arthur, Molly's pride in him & her devastation at him disowning the family, his position as the least favorite Weasley, his break from the family unit, etc. I also tend to think Fabian was Percy's father (out of the two brothers), which adds yet another depth to Molly giving Harry Fabian's watch when Percy was away from the family.

It makes some things from canon even sadder for Percy, but I find it fascinating to think about how it fits in with the complex Weasley family dynamic. And even though the Wizarding World is very different from our own, there are plenty of situations in our society where children live with their grandparents/uncles/aunts/etc. (and sometimes that works out well, but sometimes it doesn't).

I would personally love to see a story where Percy learns about his birth family and comes to terms with what it means to him to be a part of the Weasleys (particularly since Molly & Arthur failed Percy in many ways but undoubtedly loved him).

Let me be very clear so that no one misunderstands me: I do not want Percy to "represent" what adoption looks like (nor do I think he does). Every family is unique and different, and I just want to explore Percy's experiences.

However, I do not like the idea of Percy's mother dying in childbirth. I have a strong hatred of the Dead Ladies Club (which I believe was a term started in the A Song of Ice & Fire community, because GRRM has a tendency to kill off all of the mothers in childbirth).

This is not an insult to you, anon. Is it a realistic possibility for the situation you're describing? Absolutely. I just personally would rather his mother not be a part of the picture for other reasons (such as not feeling ready to be a parent or not wanting to be a parent at all, having mental health issues particularly with the war going on, etc.).

Anyway, this went on way too long, but I do enjoy talking about this idea, so thanks for the ask! 😊
