I'm obsessed with Hazbin Hotel and Pokemon, so I just had to give everyone teams! I didn't want to give anyone specific types but things to fit both their personality, growth, and just Pokemon I thought they'd have.

Explanations below:

Charlie's main Pokemon is her Umbreon, to represent KeeKee, and Dreepy to represent Razzle and Dazzle. Hisuian Typhlosion is said to purify spirits before leading them to the afterlife but can also unleash those spirits when they're enraged. Quaxly and Mime Jr. are just fun little nods to Charlie's love of dance and Mime Jr. can also learn the move Sing. I imagine them singing and dancing along with her.

Vaggie's main Pokemon is actually her Absol. I was going to make it her Iron Valiant, which I believe all Exorcists would have, but I wanted to do something different for her. I gave her Pokemon that have weapons and a moth to call back to her earlier designs. Her Espeon is a parallel to Charlie's Umbreon. Because they might be the reverse in personality, you still have Heaven (the sun) and Hell (moon).

Alastor was difficult to give Pokemon to since he's such an enigma. His main Pokemon would be a Rotom that inhabits his microphone. Skeledirge has a microphone and is a ghost type. I'd imagine the Skeledirge has is much more malicious than is typical of its species. Dedenne is another Pokemon that I'd link to radio waves while Froslass and Runerigus are "evil" Pokemon. Runerigus even has strange tentacles like Alastor does. Unfortunately, there are no evil deer Pokemon but Autumn Sawsbuck are the most aggressive of the four seasons.

Angel Dust was a fun one to create. Because he's such a complex character. My first thought was to give him waifu Pokemon from different regions but I didn't want to focus on that aspect of him. Or just give him all spider Pokemon. So I focused on the Pokemon he might surround himself with. His main Pokemon is, obviously, his shiny Lechonk to represent Fat Nuggets. His Ariados plays on the fact that he's a spider but is also a poison type Pokemon. Togepi and Sylveon are both fairy types and Pokemon linked to empathy and feelings. Morelull could be the closest nod to shrooms or other drugs since it's, you know, Pokemon. I gave him a Mawile because it's feminine Pokemon with a scary bite.

Oh, Niffty. The funniest idea would be to give her an all bug team. But that would be mean to the bugs. Her Scyther is her main Pokemon because it's a bug but also has sharp knife hands. So I gave her a Joltik as her one bug Pokemon as a connection to bugs and Alastor. Her Minccino is another Pokemon that evokes the part of Niffty that's the hotel's maid. Mimikyu is just a creepy Pokemon that hides behind a cute look. And I just threw in Tyranitar because Niffty would have an insanely strong Pokemon that's a little crazy.

Yeah, unlike the others, I did give Husk mostly cat Pokemon, but they all fit his personality or the idea behind his character. His main Pokemon is his Meowscarada because it's a magician, just like Husk. Meowth represents the more regal yet greedy Overlord he used to be. His Torracat has very similar colors to Husk with the black and red. His Litwick reminds me of the magical lights Husk put up and were lit with Charlie's magic and his Purrloin represents his deviousness regarding his Overlord days. His Rookiedee represents his wings and chivalry when it comes to some of the characters later in the show and his steel exterior.

Sir Pentious was obviously going to have some snakes on his team but I also wanted to give him some steel types and psychic for his high intelligence and love of engineering. His main Pokemon is his Steelix. It's snake-like but in-your-face snake. He has an Arbok but it's not his main Pokemon. He has Exeggucte to represent the Egg Boiz, but also kind of Togedemaru since it's friend-shaped but spikey. Metang and Golurk represent things that have been created/man-made, which is his thing.

Cherri Bomb was fun because most of her Pokemon know the move Explosion. Her main Pokemon is her Camerupt, which shares her personality. Her Golem and her Electrode are for the whole, you know, bomb thing Cherri's got going on. Her Cherubi and her Hattrem are the more feminine Pokemon on her team but her Hattrem likes to terrorize people just like she does. Her Magnemite has the single eye like she does and also explodes.

Lucifer was really fun because I was originally going to try to give him Pokemon to match the forms that he changes into during the fight with Adam but then rethought the plan. Obviously, he needs to have an Applin for the forbidden apple that will eventually become a Hydrapple. And a Ducklett because of his love for ducks. It was between Ducklett and Psyduck but I thought the cuteness of the small Ducklett just makes me think of Lucifer putting a top hat on it. Lucifer's main Pokemon is actually his Hisuian Zoroark, which is the Baneful Pokemon. I was going to have his main be his Seviper but him being tossed out of Heaven and retreating into isolation and shadows once Lilith left him just fit Hisuian Zoroark. Spiritomb has evil spirits inside it which I think matches Lucifer being in charge of the evils of the world. And Lucario is based of Anubis, who is the guide of the dead to the Underworld.

I have been BRAINROTTING over an FMA/Pokemon crossover and I need to share it so!!!

this is gonna be a 'characters exist in the context of another universe' crossover, btw so prepare for that!!!! mostly gonna use Kanto-Alola, bc im not familiar really with Galar and Paldea (except for SNOM and Wooloo)

anyway!

regional starters don't reeeeeally matter in this version, if there's a lack of starters in one region, they'll get a starter from another region

any characters who are State Alchemists are now Gym Leaders! Roy is a fire-type, Armstrong is fighting-type, etc. Olivier is a member of the Elite Four because she's just That Good.

Edward Elric and Alphonse Elric grow up in Pallet Town, alongside Winry Rockbell, whose parents are doctors who sometimes help out Professor Oak with stuff.

Trisha Elric and Delia Ketchum are besties, so Ed and Al also grow up with Ash, who is ~2 years older (eg. when Ash goes to Hoenn, Ed is just starting his journey and drags Al along

when Ed and Al are about 4/5, Trisha gets sick when there's an outbreak of disease in the area. She died from this, but Ed and Al move in with the Rockbells (as Delia can't financially support three young children on a single salary).

Hohenheim, btw, is off doing something vaguely justice-y, maybe he's in deep cover in Team Rocket? Idk, but he's not in the picture. Ed and Al know that he's 'busy with work', but can't know what that is. He does his best to keep in contact, but Van Honhenheim is legally dead so there's that issue.

Father is Hohenheim's twin, and is all around a terrible guy. He leads a crime syndicate in one of the regions (don't ask where, maybe Kalos?) that is NOT the main evil team, and the Homunculi are his enforcers.

The homunculi all specialise in a different type (eg. Envy is a bug specialist, Pride is a ghost specialist, Sloth is a fighting specialist, etc). They're annoying as fuck to deal with, and fight by their own rules. If you're in a battle with them, you are aiming to kill, because they won't hesitate to kill you if you lose.

anyway, Winry's parents are killed during an attack by Team Rocket while they were travelling, but are fairly well-known by the Gym Leaders and Elite Four of various regions for,,,,reasons (I.e. they helped out one of the Champions in a tight spot and earned the respect of most).

Just before they get killed, however, Ash leaves on his journey. Ed does NOT particularly like Pikachu, and it's...a situation. But Ed can't WAIT to go on his journey!!!

then, of course, they're vibing and just living life when something comes round to kick their asses.

listen, these two kids are at least vaguely related to Professor Elric (aka Hohenheim, he helped out Professor Oak until he found Stuff and went into deep cover to keep the family safe) so surely they know something about his research, right? right???

they, uh, they don't. But the attack happens one night when they're in their dad's study reading about something. a lone member of team rocket is sent to 'retrieve them', and ends up fucking up so much that goddamn ARCEUS gets involved

basically, Ed and Al were just vibing when this fucker, instead of doing the sensible thing and knocking them out and then just nabbing them, decides to bring out a fuckin scyther who...can't grab stuff. shit happens, Ed loses a leg in the initial scuffle but when he's trying to get to Al, loses his arm, and Al...comes off better, but not much. He's lose a few fingers (ring and pinky on his right hand) and a chunk of his shoulder, and also got his larynx badly damaged, but he's...not in immediate danger.

A few weeks pass, and a Gym Leader named Roy comes around to investigate as a favour to one of the Officers Jenny. He's there with his best friend/sort-of girlfriend (Ed doesn't really know, it's definitely something), and he's awkward and angry.

Roy keeps it quiet, it's all under wraps, but when he was younger, before he became a Gym Leader, he was a member of Team Rocket. He...thought they were good, but he was wrong. He left soon after that and dragged his childhood friend, Riza, out with him. Since then, he's become the Elite Four and International Police's investigator and attack dog, while training to inherit the Cinnabar Island Gym.

OKAY I ALMOST FORGOT. THERE WAS ANOTHER AU I’VE BEEN DICKING AROUND WITH ON THE DISCORD. But I haven’t posted about it here!! So I’ll do that!! now!!

Anyways, AU where in order to better connect Warden to the Noble Pokemon they serve, once a month they transform into that Pokemon. This has long been tradition in both clans, and is thought to be part of the blessing from Almighty Sinnoh. It’s usually considered a great honor... usually. We will get to the not usually in a bit.

Lian and Sabi are still young, so they both only transform into a Scyther and a Rufflet respectively. Calaba transforms into an Ursaluna and then just sleeps for most of the day, since transforming is exhausting at her age. Mai transforms into a Wyrdeer, Arezu becomes a Lilligant, Ingo turns into a Sneasler, Gaeric turns into an Avalugg, Iscan becomes a Basculegion (now he’s the ghost type... oh no), Palina turns into an Arcanine...

...and Melli turns into an Electrode. An orb. A Melli Orb. A morb, you could say. Yeah. Unsurprisingly it’s very hard to find Wardens for Lord Electrode. Melli didn’t not entirely know what he was getting himself into, he just wanted to impress Adaman and now he’s stuck with the job. And orb time.

(Irida definitely doesn’t forget to mention the whole thing to Ingo upon appointing him Warden. Don’t be silly.)

I sat on the beta version of this design for soooooo long. I really pushed that design and it was spooky, maybe even scary, but it felt so NOT pokemon. I knew that was the idea I was going for but I just couldn't bring myself to post it. I eventually caved and re-worked the design, pulling more shapes from scyther and it helped alot! The colors also just work so well. I'm a little sad I had to back track on my almost unlimited creative freedom but I think the results speak for themselves. Some times it's okay to fall back to something familiar.

My love for pokemon has been ignited again recently, so let’s crossover it with another thing i like (Obeyme :D). What pokemon’s type the casts specialized in? Here’s my take:

Lucifer is probably dark or fire type (cuz it fits his aesthetics)

Mammon would be electric or dark type

Levi is obiviously water type

Satan probably psychic/grass? (Or he doesn’t specialized in any types at all, just cats)

Asmo is bug/fairy (i’m leaning onto bug types more cuz bugs are fashionable cuz y’know there’re plenty of clothes are based of bugs’ patterns?)

Beel: fighting type

Belphie: normal or ghost

Thirteen is definitely poison

raphael just gives me massive steel type

Diavolo would be dark/fire/ghost??? (Not sure)

And i think Solomon would be a professor (cuz i can’t think of a type that fits this old man lol). And i really struggle with the remaining characters tho (my imagination has really gone dry)

Okay, let's see, I've seen some speculation about what kinds of Pokemon the characters would have, but I haven't considered it myself. Mostly because I know that if I tried to create teams for all the characters I would go down a rabbit hole the likes of which no one has ever seen. I would spend days, possibly weeks, maybe even months, hyper fixating on it.

I think there are a lot of Pokemon that fit the characters but most of my ideas involve mixed type teams.

But if they were like gym leaders and had only one specific type that they specialized in? I think I can manage that?

These are just my general thoughts, kind of off the top of my head, but it's all subject to change at a moment's notice lol.

I agree with Lucifer being Dark. I can just see him having a Houndoom, Zoroark, possibly an Umbreon.

I can't help but think that Mammon would be Normal because there is no way that guy doesn't have a Meowth. Also wouldn't it be cute if he had a lil Eevee?? I also see him with a Zigzagoon.

Levi is definitely Water. Gyarados, Lapras, maybe a Greninja? Yeah that feels right.

Satan would absolutely just be cats. Though I do believe I saw someone say Mimikyu would be a good one for him, too, and I agreed with that argument! But if I had to choose a type for him, I think Psychic is a good choice. Since he tends to be more focused on knowledge and the mind, I think it could work. Plus can you imagine him with a Galarian Ponyta? And of course he'd have a Meowstic!

I tend to lean more toward Fairy for Asmo just because I'm pretty sure he doesn't like bugs lol. But I think if I was gonna choose something for Asmo, it'd be Grass. I know, but hear me out. How many Grass type Pokemon are straight up beautiful flowers? Give him a Bellossom or a Sunflora or a Roselia.

Then I would give Bug type to Beel lol. Though I absolutely feel like Fighting would work, too ('cause like omg Beel with a Machamp). I just think it goes with the whole fly situation, you know? Plus how cute would it be for him to have a Butterfree? I mean yeah okay he can have a Scyther too and like a Joltik but also give that guy a Cutiefly you know what I'm saying?

Belphie definitely gives me Ghost vibes for some reason. I can't explain it, but I just see him definitely having a Drifloon. Also a Gengar. And a Pumpkaboo just because that feels right too lol. I have no idea why.

I think Diavolo would be the Dragon type. That feels right to me. Dragonite, Salamence, Garchomp, maybe a Drampa or Goodra. I dunno, just feels like the right type for him.

I really can't decide on a single type for Barbatos. I think he'd like a Ghost type like Sinistea or a Fairy type like Comfey. But he's got the Little Ds, right?? They're close enough! Demon type lol.

Now I could totally see Solomon being one of those absolutely unhinged professor types lol. But I could also see him having Flying or Ice type. Or Psychic or Fairy. I think he could have any of those. Like give that grandpa an Alakazam or an Altaria or a Glaceon or a Clefable. Okay see this is what I mean when I start being unable to choose a specific type lol.

I could also see Simeon having Flying type. Again with a Swablu or Altaria, but also a Togekiss or Swanna.

Luke would be Fairy type. Especially considering how many Fairy type Pokemon are also desserts. Give that kid an Alcremie, a Slurpuff, and of course a Fidough! Also a Togepi to match Simeon's Togekiss.

I agree that Thirteen would be Poison. That feels accurate! Give her a Seviper and a Croagunk! Oh and a Salazzle.

I think Raphael could be Steel, Ground, or Rock lol. Or even Fighting I think would work too. I don't think there's a spear like Steel type, but there is the swords Aegislash. But I think I could see him with an Onix or like a Solrock too.

Mephisto completely baffles me. Maybe Poison also? Or Fire? I could see him with a Ninetails.

Well, these are just basic ideas, and I agree with multiple types for each character. It's too hard for me to give a single type to each! For instance, I also think Mammon would have a Gimmighoul and that's a Ghost type. I didn't even give anyone Electric in the end, but I could see him having a Pikachu, too lol.

Anyway, that was fun to think about, but you can see that if I got serious about it, I'd end up getting way too into it lol. I'm always open to hear other people's thoughts and ideas on this, too! I know others have discussed it before! (For instance, I recommend checking out @/another-lost-mc because I know Jes has a Pokemon AU!)

For the longest time I thought:

1) Fake Out was a Dark type move (it made sense since it "cheats" the opponent into flinching with a, well, fake-out),

2) Dusknoir was Ghost/Dark (it's the Grim Reaper pokemon and it's always depicted as/around villains??? Idk it's the Vibe),

3) Cut was, some time in the past, in some brief venture into official but non-canon games, a bug-type move (this may have come from a romhack somewhere, though I know it's not Crystal Legacy because SmithPlays saying he was changing Cut to be Bug type was what made me look it up and realize it was never not Normal),

4), Chansey was turned part Fairy when the type was released (like the two other Kanto pink blobs)

The cut thing could be because Scyther is a bug-type that's usually shown cutting things and can learn the move via TM in Gen 1.

Thoughts on the Laurantis line?

Buddy, I have feelings on the Laurantis line that you can't even fucking conceive of.

Okay. Do you have ANY idea how interesting it is that a Pure Grass like Lurantis is mimicking some of the more infamous and terrifying Bug types to that degree of accuracy?? Like! you see their body plan (bipedal, attack-based forelimbs) (and only picking from bugs, otherwise this would be way overstuffed) in Beedrill (0015), Scyther (0123) and Scizor (0212), Armaldo (0348), Kricketune (0402), Leavanny (0542), and Golisopod (0768) because it is an excellent Bug type body plan and in general makes for a beautifully skilled attacker.

They're extremely powerful Pokemon and it's a complete shame you don't see them more in the competitive field because with the right trainer and training they absolutely knock most other mons out of the fucking park with hypothetical retaliatory output and the like.

Also you don't often see Pure Grass mons actively pursuing a predatory lifestyle versus photosynthesis but that is EXACTLY what Laurantis does and it's FANTASTICALLY strange. They mimic Bug Pokemon for protection but those sickles are lethal and they use them to the fullest in taking down Pokemon that are foolish enough to approach them regardless of their visual warning signs. Laurantis actually use their petals to shred their prey and feed through a small opening on the underside of their head that's usually covered by the white/cream petals that make up the underside of their face!

And this isn't even getting into how staggeringly lovely some domestic kinds of Lurantis can be. The Wild morph (pink and white) is, of course, absolutely beautiful, but the Angel morph (very, very yellow), the Ghost morph (semi-translucent, sort of like the glass poli-line morph), the Rose morph (very red and very frilly), the Typhoon morph (blue to nearly black, very sleek), and the Granite morph (very orange and speckly, actually a very fine piebald morph) come to mind when I think about them and just! Laurantis!

They're great Pokemon and I've always always always wanted to raise one but I've never been in good enough health or had the time to provide adequate care to them which is a SHAME.

Also despite the fact you typically see them in high humidity areas (Alola Route 5 & the Lush Jungle (why is that it's name again), Galar's Fields of Honor, Soothing Wetlands, Challenge Beach, Forest of Focus, & Training Lowlands, and Paldea's Area One & Tagtree Thicket) they're actually one of Orre's very, very few native Pokemon! You see them around the foot of Mt. Battle and, surprisingly considering all of their other environments, way out in the desert hunting sandaconda and any small Pokemon unfortunate enough to cross their paths while ALSO using those massive sickles of theirs to dig down into pockets of water, which provides an absolutely invaluable service to every local creature be they Pokemon or Human! Isn't that cool!
