Since Anon asked and this might need a little more room for explination: Why does Senritsu becomes to uncomfortable with the idea of having children / does not want children herself?

Senritsu likes chlildren, she likes to watch them grow up and lead them along the way and finds pride and wonder in helping and supporting them to become one day adults with their own passions and interests. But thats not the same as beeing a parent. Thats just beeing a decent adult who wants to see the next Generation find joy in their life and support whoever needs that Support.

For one: Obviously Senritsu knows that her vitals are not in the place or form they should be after she was ripped appart and mended back together. When already her facial muscles are on some parts not where they should be (leading to the ptosis in her left eye), she really does not trust her organs to do anything resembling a healthy pregnancy. And even if that would work, it would still have the same risks and problems as any pregnancy of a person with dwarfism. So pregnancy would be lifethreatening for her in any way. This could be of course avoided through adoption, but it is by all means not the part of having children that worries Senritsu:

She knows that she might not live long. Senritsu had accepted that destroying the sonata would very likely be her end because even if she is turned back to her original body, the only reason why she survived that first time was because the sonata of darkness mended her back together so she would carry the melody back into the world, and that would not happen if she would destroy it. So she would either die working in the mafia, or consumed by the cursemarks on her left arm or eventualyl when she destroys the sonata, so she is not aiming to put children in the world she can not look after.

Also: Anyone can have children, but not every parent deservse children. Having children is easy, yet raising a child needs a parent to not only make sacrefices but also to focus their life and their needs around this child for in any other way the child would feel unwanted. And a child feeling unwanted and beeing too young to understand that it is not their fault, but simply their parents not putting that child as their priority, is torture for this child. And Senritsu knows that she would love that child, but that there would always be that little voice in her that she should go and continue hunting. Love is not enough, in this manner, a child needs regularity and support. And as a Hunter who had devoted her life to beeing a hunter, she can not give that to a child. She would never be completly there for the child, physically yes, but also she would mentally count every day down until she knows that the child would be ready to start their own life so she could continue her hunt, knowing that child is safe.

And Senritsu would never want to force a child - biologically or adopted- in this kind of situation where they would not be the priority. In other words, she would never be so cruel to pull a Ging Freeccs.

In animanga only from this blog I assume...? It would be

Ging Freeccs (HxH). Not only does he sum up so many tropes that grip me by the heart but I adore his design and find him very compelling. Complex character who's insane in a way that's just realistic enough to be relatable and just out there enough to be immensely entertaining.

No1/Mike Ford Davis (No5). Deeply unsettling and unique character concept pushed to the extremes with a fascinating role in his story. Antagonists of all times he spends so much screentime refusing to die and being off putting

Ginko (Mushishi). I wish he was my friend. Or do I wish I were him? I love how despite being a hero he's such a nobody - a good subversion which shows a protagonist does not have to be gods special little boy to be interesting

Black & White (Tekkonkinkreet). Putting these bad little boys together because they come as a pair... Most touching ying/yang dynamic I've ever seen, they're both complex and deeply human characters who's stories show them struggling against their own minds in unique ways I rarely see represented with such kind raw honesty. Their character designs also rule - I have endless fondness for kid characters and they push the "child that does whatever they want" in a way that's visible in how they look. I gotta analyze their designs sometimes, so much unsaid character things in there

Coustas & Dagda (Witch Hat Atelier). Also putting them as a pair because while I'm fond of them individually it's truly their dynamic that I like. I've posted enough about this need I say more

Honorable runner ups I can't classify:

Theta (HxH): amazing character design, compelling tragic character, her story has me by the balls

Largo Lloyd (Letter Bee): weirdly plot twisty and entertaining niche fella who works well as an interesting take on common tropes

Dr Kazukabe (Dorohedoro): also a nutjob like Ging but with that endearing wtf sweetness Dorohedoro provides so well. AND a wife guy

Kabru (Dungeon Meshi): he's so funny I'm sorry Kabru you are so entertaining bc your life is hell. I love you

Izutsumi (DM too): I love weird mean girls. She's endearing in a messy way I don't have very deep things to say about her

Inu-Oh (titular character baby): immensely likeable as a character because he is so immensely nice as a person in universe. He's just a bro, bears no grudges, finds a positive side to everything, selfless without ever being self deprecating despite a shit life, the bestie of all times

when it comes to her jobs with the mob, does she ever feel worried? Or is it just another day at the job and it doesn’t compare to the supernatural things she’s dealt with?

💠 Is there a Headcanon about my muse you want to know more about? Ask away! Worried about what, exactly? Worried about her health? Although Senritsu is as a person very kind and compassionate, she is very far from beeing stupid. So she went in working for the Mafia, with enough knowledge about the people around her, to protect herself and enough distance to the work to protect her own mind. It was a means to an end- Senritsu had no personal connections to the Mafia and it was a simple exchange of her service as a Bodyguard for the reach on leads for the Sonata of darkness. Her keen hearing gives her enough warnings to know when a person can become dangerouse to her or what the persons intentions are. She however did went into the buisness convinced that she would not trust her co- workers, only to stumble over Kurapika who made her throw over her plans., because he decided to trust in her and ask for her help. Now she does not only works in the line or work because she wants to reach her own goals, but also because she wants to help her friend. Which is the reason why she continued working for the Mafia even after the Yorknew Auctions and after the Nostrade family lost their fortune. So she is not worried for her health, because Senritsu went into her work prepared and with enough expierence to know how to keep herself safe, but now she is worried for her friend who did not went in with the same distance and self-protection as she did.

Worried about her morality? Despite her personality and her worry for a friend, Senritsu is not a hero. She is, above anything else, a Hunter. And while it is a Hunters work to eventually help other people, they do so by following their own passions in a selfish manner. Ging Freeccs for example puts most of his fortune to restore old ruins and support archaeological research, because he enjoys it, but also because he is searching for something in those ruins and supporting those research eventually helps him. Helping people, inspiring people to go for their own researchs and passions, supporting people, is a good and noble task, but it is eventually born from selfish motives. That does not make those tasks any less noble, but it also does not hide the motives behind them. And the same goes for Senritsu. What counts for her is finding what she is looking for and while there are lines she would not cross, working for the mafia and getting her hands dirty is not one of those lines. Especially when it comes to the bodypart-collectors community, for which her group had worked for since she was a young child. It is in fact almost normal for her working for this kind of people.

Repentance and Reflection

This dialogue belongs to chapter 337, when Kite was repenting everyone sins. Just by having the power to kill, the Koala ant did the same thing over and over again, without realizing what really mattered, because the reflection upon your acts hurts more than sticking to a pattern and trusting that cycle. Like, robotic mode to avoid changing, because changing is a challenge - but inevitable. Someday, you will find your heart’s missing something, always the same, after led to make the same mistakes.

I think this talks directly to Gon too, when he realizes that he would’ve ended doing the same thing if he still got his Nen. He would keep pursuing power, seeking self-validation until he feeds his heart with one “I am strong now”.  He’d be blinded by his self-worth issues, and would make a choice unfaithful with his heart - a heart that he only gives some hearing now that he’s “nenless”. Because he was unbalanced with his power and mind, focusing too much on one of them only (and we know which one), when Nen is about power and mind (Wing’s words). Just to have his power would signify to make the wrong choice and stick to the same pattern, the same journey. Leading to his self-destructiveness once again, probably, because there is always something missing.

And it was missing since the beginning, because he’s now acknowledging his goal’s mistakes.

It wasn’t about Ging as a family but as “the most challenging hunt” for a Hunter. It wasn’t about his own pride (pointed out Hanzo back at the Exam), but finding someone to be proud of him ‘cause he made it (I’m lazy rn to put in here now but Gon implies that is what he wants, back at the beginning, which makes sense with he being so offended when someone calls him weak). At some point, we get to see so many people complimenting his talent and strength. But this still doesn’t feed his heart - because he was the one who couldn’t see his worth.

It’s clear to me that he’s saying he might’ve made the wrong choice if he still strength-focused in order to keep pursuing that validation, because he really didn’t know what mattered the most or what he really wanted, as he had just found his goal wasn’t really to stay with Ging. He would seek power again, blindly, because there is always someone stronger than him. He would feel weak again by Ging’s side and travel along to seek that power, always knowing that “something isn’t right”, because he never gets satisfied or confident about his strength - he wouldn’t have realized his goal wasn’t exactly what he thought.  He would’ve make the same mistakes again and again, without feeding his heart.

Like, Why travel together if he doesn’t exactly want to stay with him? The fact that he’s assuming that it wouldn’t be quite right but he would’ve still decided to do it shows that he’s now experiencing loss in order to pay attention to what he really wants without being blinded or fooled by his self-worth issues and his journey to feel powerful, realizing how that choice wouldn’t make sense. Being nenless is important to reflect properly before deciding. If he gets his Nen back, the healthy path is to balance, so his power doesn’t fool him again into the wrong sources of satisfaction.

Nen also reflects one’s feelings. It makes sense that he can’t use it right now, because he’s learning what he truly feels in order to build a more accurate journey for his heart, something that could only be done the way he is right now, dealing with the consequences and with the fact that are many ways to be strong (thank you Meruem you’ve said it right) - not only physically, and even if it was, there are too many ways to reach that. And then, his new learning will be balanced. 

It’s probably a heavy loss for Gon, since he promised to Kite that, when the time comes, he’ll stay by his side. If Kite called him right now, he couldn’t do anything, the same if Killua needed him. But at the same time, Kite kinda opens this thinking path for Gon, after repenting his “sins”. Gon knows he didn’t make it alone. Kite says that “makes two of us”. Kite is still strong, even acknowledging he needed help, why couldn’t Gon feel the same? Having someone by your side to share your battles doesn’t make you weak. Everything it’s for Gon to reflect, and the repentance is to show that he’s gotta a long way of reflecting, he was still stuck with the thought that leaving Kite behind was the worst thing ever, even if Kite himself doesn’t think that way. The meaning he gives to “be strong” and to “be weak” are both wrong.

That’s why I think that, if he grabs the spotlight again (what I believe it will happen one day) he’ll reach greater ways to be really strong, body and mind, acknowledging his issues and understanding what he needs Remembering the ones who never left his side, those who believed in him. I always say, Togashi could troll us all and never shows Gon again but I don’t think it would make sense -  Gon needs to feed his heart. I don’t think he reached the end of his reflection process, neither Killua did. That’s why they split in an ambiguous tone. It’s just the beginning.

Like the World Tree, it just stopped to grow by not getting the essential nutrients. But at the top of that huge tree, where seemed to be the peak of everything, was a nest. The tree itself reached its peak, but made possible for those baby birds to grow. Symbolizing that, even at the top of what you think it’s the end, there is still space for growing - especially if you look to what you’ve left at the side of your road and at the corners of your heart.

I'll do the same way I asked you: regardless of source material, including a small summary of the character and why I like them so much :}

1 - From the Inkheart book series, Dustfinger! I read those books as a kid and he's the first fictional character I remember liking in a significant way. He represents a blueprint of sorts for most of my favorite characters since then, or at the least my personal originator of a bunch of tropes I love. His character is a wandering minstrel type with a borderline supernatural ability at juggling with fire. He's "cool" but rather unfriendly and sometimes straight up unpleasant, very focused on self preservation to the point of selfishness and cowardice, partially due to a rough and penniless upbringing but partially due to his personality. While he does have a family and other loved ones he's not very openly affectionate. I can't tell exactly what I like about him, he's a complex character who feels very human and who has a lot of character traits I adore. Having reread the series as an adult, I especially appreciated him being (at least in the first book) in a grey area of neither anta- or protagonist. He's just out there with his own agenda and a lot of personality, some of which isn't pleasant, but who sure is interesting

2 - The Mike himself... putting him as number two even if he's number one (badum tss). He's very hard to talk about because so much of his appeal is presented in the series as show don't tell actions of slightly cryptic nature. His character is an artificially created man meant to be a soldier and ideal peacekeeper. He's kind, clever, beautiful and supernaturally charismatic, and because of how he was engineered, earnestly dedicates his life to peace and love on planet earth. Part of his charisma comes from empathy so unnaturally deep he's able to feel what others are thinking and influence them by being around. This all makes him an uncanny and absolutely terrifying antagonist, one with ambitions for the whole planet as well as what you could describe as the best intentions. Why I like him so much is because he's so strange and compelling. Tragic and horrifying figure and a character concept I've never seen anywhere else yet executed so well

3 - After completing HxH more than once I realized that Ging Freeccs embodied every trope I like at once while also sharing a weird amount of similarities with my own self and it was over. His character is an extremely talented man who lives by his passions alone and who pulls off extreme individualism by just being that good at what he needs to live like that. Fascinating and infuriating at once. He loves a lot of different things in life and will throw away anything in the way of him not pursuing his passion of the moment, while also being weirdly selfless when it comes to doing what he wants to do. Also both a very strong personality and charismatic figure & with crippling social anxiety which is a hilarious combination. I like him because he has a lot of character traits I like, is very intriguing, and a total mad cunt

4&5 - I am not separating Black and White ever so I'll be describing them in alphabetical order and not rating one above the other... Both: two-people gang of orphaned street kids with no known background who reign over their little turf by the laws of the jungle, brothers by choice and not by blood, surfing like never before the line between soulmates and codependency. Black: more reserved and selfish, critically low emotional intelligence; he's stuck between the unaware pain of repressing his feelings and refusing to show any vulnerability & hyperviolent tendencies due to genuine prepubescent bloodlust. Very mentally ill miserable little man gaslighting himself into thinking he's the best because they're all afraid of him. White: curious and full of empathy, he's rather clever and much more friendly than his brother. Struggles with learning and focus among other things due to undisclosed mental disability. Pathological daydreamer with unpredictable and usually scary moments of clairvoyance. Why I like them so much: they're such flawed yet touching characters, their struggles are realistic and so is the way they act about, while still embodying the surreal whimsy of childhood. Real bittersweet to see their story unfold where they're going through it due to unchangeable circumstances. White's little monologue about how both of them were born broken but have the screws the other one lacks was the first thing that glued me heart and soul to their source material

ging from the perspective of someone who’s dad is like him.

he couldnt see me until i was a certain age and i was raised by my grandmother [luv u ma] and my usually [until his retirement] absent grandfather. i didnt see my biological father [name excluded for privacy] until i was at least about gons age maybe younger. though my memories of him begin at about 13. i dont remember when i was younger i just know i was allowed to know about him.

he couldnt take care of me properly so he didnt see me. ging had a job as a hunter and if the woman he was w/ decided to keep gon he wouldnt get to choose on having the baby or not. that was his moms choice as far as i know. [im neglecting the theory ging had him on greed island for now]. 

gings job is dangerous and time consuming. calling him evil for not just quitting on the spot for a kid he may not have wanted or been ready to treat properly is ridiculous. sure due to other shit im fucked up but i would have been just as fucked up if he had tried to raise me. 

mito was young when she adopted gon yes. it wasnt fair to her but if she wasnt ready then i doubt thats where ging would have left gon. he would have left him at an orphanage if he felt it would be better. and look how it turned out. gons a happy kid w/ a support system and an adoptive mom who as far as i know , did a hella good job. 

and when you ask “why didnt he visit?”. would it have been appropriate?? ging wouldnt wanna disrupt the peaceful life his kid has. he prolly doesnt feel worthy of his son. and as far as i know gings extrememly busy too- 

in conclusion in my opinion gings obviously not perfect [no on in HXH is...i mean leorio is close but-] but hes not a piece of shit or anything like that. there was a bad situation. it was handled. simple as that.
