helpful recipes take 2!
So I didn't have enough space in the ask to mention it in the ask, but if you're gonna do a Turmeric Latte, you NEED to use black or white pepper or else your body won't absorb all the beneficial stuff in the turmeric.
Honestly, I can't recommend these strongly enough, they always help me feel way better, and faster than if I was just doing the other medecine/remedies on their own. The quick version presumes you live near a city or have stuff on hand, tho, so sorry if that's not the case.
Turmeric Latte
Do not add these all at once to the pot!
Mandatory ingredients:
350ml (~1 1/2 cups) milk of choice (If using cow's milk, I tend to do a 1:1 ratio of water and milk instead, but I buy whole milk so ymmv with other percentages/your palate)
¼ tsp ground turmeric
¼ tsp ground cinnamon
¼ tsp ground ginger
½ tsp vanilla extract
grind of black pepper
pinch of salt
honey to taste (I do a fuckton if I've got a sore throat, local/unprocessed/crunchy hippie honey is best for this to avoid the sugar stratified ones)
Optional/somewhat esoteric ingredients
½ grind of white pepper (if using, reduce black pepper to ½ grind)
dash ground blade mace
heavy grating of freshly dried nutmeg (~1/4 tsp)
dash ground cardamom or like 1 smashed pod *
TINY pinch of ground cloves or float like 4 in the milk while it's heating. *
* careful with these, if you add too much it starts to taste like a winter holiday candle, and not in a good way
Put everything but the vanilla and honey in a pot, heat and try to whisk if it's a milk that will boil over. I like to use a milk frother as long as all the spices are ground, or else they get caught up in the wire.
Once hot, take off the heat and add the honey. Taste carefully so you don't burn your tongue until it's at a level you want. I seriously use like 1/3 a cup or more, don't feel guilty - you're sick! Indulge!
Strain if you can and add the vanilla. Try not to let it steep or sit too long before you drink it, or the pepper will overwhelm everything else.
Fast Turmeric Latte
350ml (~1 1/2 cups) milk/water blend of choice
¼ tsp ground turmeric
½ - ¾ tsp garam masala or pumpkin/apple pie spice
grind of pepper
Whatever other ingredients from above recipe you have the energy to add
Same steps as above, this one gets dicey since pie spice mixes can vary, but it'll get the brewed turmeric and black pepper in you, which is the whole point, lolol.
Sometimes if I can't stomach milk or I've run out, I'll do this next one instead, but I always keep fresh lemons on hand, so if you don't, my apologies. Unfortunately, I doubt lemon extract will do, but if you're really in a bind I do think shelf stable lemon or lime juice should still help.
Lemon tonic (2 servings)
2 cups boiling water
zest of 1 lemon (I use a vegetable peeler instead of a micro-plane/zester for this recipe. The sharper the better! It helps avoid peeling the bitter white pith along with the zest)
juice of 1 lemon
1 knob of fresh ginger, sliced (no need to peel, just wash if not organic)
2 tsp cinnamon
pinch ground cayenne
TINY pinch red pepper flakes (I have potent ones, idk what yours might be, so adjust accordingly)
pinch of salt
honey to taste
shot of decent whiskey or brandy (utterly optional. I can't actually add this anymore due to other meds I'm on, but I stand by it for those who can.)
Put zest, cinnamon, cayenne, and pepper flakes in mug, pour boiling water and steep 6 minutes
Add the rest of the ingredients and enjoy, no straining necessary.
ALTERNATE VERSION: add 1 orange, zested and juiced, and replace 1 cup of water with wine of choice (preferably a red)
Sometimes I get funky with it and add berries/fruit to it, especially blueberries, raspberries, 1/4 a sliced apple, and other citrus. Anything to spark joy when sick, haha.
If I want to have this fresh for both servings, I peel the whole lemon and put half in as small of a container as possible and wrapped up in cling film until I want to make the second batch. I don't even remove the lemon peels from the brewing mug or anything, I just dump fresh ingredients in. Sometimes I'll re-brew them, too, if only for the soothing of the hot water. (I also totally eat the citrus peels once they're softer, but I'm a gremlin like that, lmao.)
I know this is a lot, but I hope one of these helps you feel better!
Tumblr media
this is so kind of you to drop off and I’m going to see if I can make some of this with my mom bc I think she’s feeling a little bit under the weather too so hopefully 🥺 thank you so much rememdy non! ❤️

Pick-A-Pile: How will your future spouse treat you when you're sick? 😷 🤒 🤧
I woke up feeling less than great today, so I thought I'd do this reading to distract myself from the head congestion & dry cough😕🤒
Tumblr media
👑Check out my masterlist to see all of my pick-a-card readings😊
🔮Disclaimer: This reading is for entertainment purposes only. Tarot readings are based upon my intuitive interpretation of the cards and about possibilities based on your current energy. Energy is forever changing and nothing is set in stone. Always remember, you have your own free will to make whatever decision you feel is best.
🔮How I read: This reading was purely intuitive and channeling messages received from The Universe/Spirit with the use of my intuitive abilities of claircognizance, clairaudience, and clairsentience.
🔮How this works: Close your eyes and take 3 deep breaths, pick the pile you are most drawn to. If you aren’t drawn to any pile then that’s okay, these messages aren’t for you. Also, it's ok if you're drawn to more than one pile! There might be messages in there that resonate with you as well.
Pile 1:
Tumblr media
I feel that those of you who picked this pile lead a healthy lifestyle or are currently making changes in your lifestyle in order to be more healthy.
Your future spouse (fs) is going to care alot about your overall well being. They have the perspective that having a cold means that there's imbalance (or dis-ease) in the body and will want to nurse you back to health by being a whole foods guru/herbalist 🌿 in the kitchen!
You'll get some delicious fresh pressed juices, ginger shots, Manuka honey 🍯 & cayenne pepper 🌶 concoctions (to break up phlem in the chest), lots of herbal teas 🍵, water, etc. Your fs will have their holistic game plan for your recovery down pat.
Don't be surprised if hot yoga & time in a sauna are all apart of your fs' plan to get you well.
Pile 2:
Tumblr media
You and your future spouse (fs) are coming through as the couple who lead a very orderly life. I see that if you get sick your fs will be making sure you go to the doctor, will get your prescription filled, and ensure you're taking your medicine 💊 at right times (i.e. every 4 hours). You will be able to just focus on your recovery! Your fs is coming through as a very component person who will make sure all of the other things in the household are running like they're supposed to.
This is the spouse that if you have to run to the toilet and puke, they'll hold your hair, and have a glass of ginger tea waiting for you to drink afterwards to soothe your stomach.
Pile 3:
Tumblr media
I see that you and your future spouse (fs) have alot of independence within your relationship. They'll know and respect what you want when you're sick.
Your fs knows you like to be left alone when sick. You just want to get in the bed, close the shades, and let the medicine, Vick's Vapor Rub, and humidifier do their job. They know you don't like to be cottled or bothered when sick.
So they will show that they love and support you by doing all of the household chores you usually do, ensure the fridge is stocked with the foods you like to eat, medicine 💊 (prescribed or over-the-counter) is in the house, and overall make sure you're comfortable & peacefully left alone while you recover.
🌟 I hope this reading resonated with you! Please reblog & let me (and others know) what pile or piles resonated with you!🌟

Boost Strengthen Your Immune System Naturally
Tumblr media
Boost Strengthen Your Immune System Naturally Immune system is the resistance power of our body protection from illness and disease. A person with a strong immune system is easy to combat with organism and infections that may result in further ailments and problematic disease. There are some methods that you can do to boost the immune system naturally including healthy nutrition, restorative sleep and the use of herbs and supplements. In this article, I will show you some of the herbs that help you to boost your immune system naturally, help fight off illnesses and maintain good health. These are some beneficial herbs you can find easily at the market and even at home: Elderberry – It has been used to treat influenza, sinusitis, and colds for hundreds of years in folk medicine. It is a good source of anthocyanins which are a type of flavonoid – anthocyanins are antioxidants that may protect cells from free radicals and stimulate the immune system. It may also be an effective anti-inflammatory that is an aid in the treatment of herpes simplex (cold sores). For prevention, take 1/2 teaspoon of liquid extract or 1 teaspoon of elderberry syrup twice daily. To hasten recovery from a cold or flu, take 1 teaspoon of extract or 2 teaspoons of syrup four times a day. Echinacea – Echinacea could be said one of the most valuable herbs to support the immune system by the numbers and activity of white blood cells, as well as increasing the production of interferon, the antibody that destroys bacteria. Ginseng – This man root herbal is also called Asian, Chinese or Korean ginseng. Ginseng is a famous herbal that has been used as a general tonic in Traditional Chinese medicine for thousands of years. It is widely used to bolster the immune system and give extra energy. Green tea contains powerful antioxidant compounds that help boost our immune systems for disease prevention and to help slow the aging process. The dominant antioxidant in green tea is epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG for short), polyphenols that fight free radicals to keep our cells healthy. To bolster immune function, drink 3 or more cups of green tea daily. Herbal Teas boosts the Immune System Get ready to build a Fort Knox style immune system! Recent studies have found that Tea boosts your body’s much-needed defense system. Try having a cup of green or black tea every day to achieve this. These polyphenols remove free radicals, which are damaging compounds that can damage your DNA and accelerate the aging process. Tea can also release molecules that send gamma-delta T cells. These cells are on the ‘front lines’, protecting your body from many types of parasitic, viral, bacteria, and fungal infections by releasing chemicals that fight these infections. Also found in herbal teas were alkylamines, which is found in some fungi, cancerous cells, bacteria, & parasites. Having these alkylamines in your system is similar to getting a flu shot. Why? Because your body’s immune system will train disease-fighting cells to identify and retain the alkylamines information. So peeps ask me how long it takes to prep the food I eat across a 12-hour shift (I fast for 12 hours) so I took some video of the parts that take the longest, which doesn’t take long at all. I chop all the veggies/fruit (as necessary) and freeze them in baggies as per the recipe, enough for 5-6 days. The day I blend the 4 smoothies I take with me, I prep an avocado and juice lemons and lime for one of my wellness shots and my green smoothie. Then I simply add the base liquid and dump the baggie contents. The green smoothie takes the most work. I drink a lot of green tea, which takes little time to make, and for my wellness shots I literally repurposed a jar that I mix wheatgrass powder or whatever with alkaline water, shake and shoot. I start the ‘morning’ with oil pulling, then drink my lemon/cayenne/turmeric/ginger/cinnamon/ACV/honey shot first thing 30 minutes before anything else. It completely opens up my ‘head’ (which is to say my sinuses/nasopharynx) and is intended to jumpstart my metabolism, boost my immune system and provide some antiinflammatory aid. I usually take a soup or salad or other snack with me because I graze/drink fairly constantly, but I’m still tweaking my routine and plan to combine the “Beauty” and “Brain” smoothies (Purple and red in the pic), because I’ve found that I don’t need nearly as much to eat as I expected across 12 hours. I used to take 4 smoothies, then started bringing one and then two smoothies back home each shift because I was so full (must be the fiber!). Since I’m back on my ‘ish since the winter holidays, my energy is back up, my GI function is super regular 😭, my skin cleared up (after a brief initial breakout that I believe was the detox uglies, because the bumps came and resolved in a day), and I’m much better hydrated (I drink 2 liters of water during the same 12 hours and add more if I work out. Hit me below with your recipes, tips or suggestions as I continue to tweak this routine. #howcountrygirlsgetdown #healthyeating https://www.instagram.com/p/BuSUAWzFYWc/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=129clalg64025

Morning Tips & Diet
Morning Rituals
·        Always give thanks to The Most High for waking you up with another day of opportunity with gratitude and prayer.
·        Speak positive affirmations out loud about yourself, your day, & your environment to get the positive energy flowing around you.
·        Start meditating for at least 10 mins a day; the more you feel comfortable increase your time to 30 mins a day, 1 hour daily, etc.
·        Hydrate your body first thing in the morning with a hot glass of lemon or lime water along with a glass of ice cold lemon or lime water.
·        For my coffee drinkers or for a boost of energy replace your morning coffee with a ginger shot. (Boil 1 cup of water and fresh diced ginger for 10-15 mins, add cayenne pepper to the top- take it down like a shot!)
·        Add herbal teas and essential oils (oil of oregano, black seed oil) to your morning rituals as well (leave green, white & black teas alone. Contains huge amounts of fluoride in them)
 Breakfast Options
·        Green smoothie – spinach, kale, avocado, mango, pineapple, 1 strawberry, slice of ginger (¼ green apple for sweetness –optional). ½ Coconut water ½ coconut milk  1tsp of flax seeds-Blend add chia seeds on top.
·        Cinnamon apple berry oatmeal- 1 cup of coconut milk (for more sweetness use almond milk instead).  ½ cup of organic oats ( steel cut is the healthiest but quick oats and old fashion oats are fine as well) In a separate pot sauté diced green apples and strawberries with cinnamon, honey, & ½ tsp vanilla extract optional. Once oatmeal is done- add fresh sliced strawberries to your bowl and pour oatmeal on top, add the cooked apples and strawberries, garnish with fresh blueberries, and strawberries. Enjoy!
·        Green veggie fruit bowl- All fresh organic fruits and veggies with seeds in them. Add & switch different variations. Melon, cucumbers, green apples, avocado, pears, & kiwi. Add chia seeds on top for a boost of fiber and protein.
 Stay hydrated through-out the day
·        Drink a gallon a day, preferably in glass- try to eliminate as much plastic as possible due to the BPA chemicals that’s in the plastic which is very horrible for us. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCf3wQPVR0o
·        Eliminate all bottled water but if you must only drink alkaline brands or natural spring water. Any other water is acidic and horrible for you.
·        Start fusing your water with fresh fruit, cucumbers, and mint
·        Add fresh lemon or lime juice, cucumbers or melon to alkalinize your water

Know the benefits of healthy juicing recipes
Juice isn't a replacement for whole fruits and veggies, of course, but it does let you fit in foods that you might not eat otherwise—like beets or carrots—especially at breakfast, which is usually a no-vegetable zone. And consuming enough produce has its perks. People who consumed five servings of vegetables a day lived nearly three years longer than people who avoided veggies in a study in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.
Upping your produce intake might help you reach a weight loss goal (produce is low-cal and full of water, which fills you up). Plus, because the cells in fruits and veggies are broken down by juicing, their nutrients are easier for your body to absorb, says Nicole Cormier, R.D., a coauthor of The Everything Juicing Book.
Juicing Reality Check
But there are downsides. Juicing for health is a time suck. And it can be expensive, because you have to buy a ton of fruits and vegetables and shell out for special equipment.
Juicing also leaves chewing to be desired. That's important from a weight standpoint because solid food is more satiating than liquid, says David Katz, M.D., the founding director of the Yale-Griffin Prevention Research Center and the author of Disease-Proof. (Related: Is Celery Juice Worth the Hype?) What Is The Best Juice For Glowing Skin https://www.juicingpoint.com/what-is-the-best-juice-for-glowing-skin-recipe-tips-for-best-result
Juice is a concentrated source of calories that's easy to consume in a few gulps and contains little or no filling fiber. And because it's digested faster than solid food, it causes a rapid increase in blood sugar. Translation? Drinking too much juice, especially fruit juice, can actually contribute to weight gain and has even been linked to type 2 diabetes. But the good news, Dr. Katz says, is that juicing can be healthy as long as you're strategic about it. Think of it as a refreshing treat rather than your predominant source of fruits and vegetables. (Study up on the latest scoop about the dirty dozen and clean 15.)
The Truth About Juice Cleanses
Before you go all in and replace meals with sips, know this about taking juicing for health to the extreme: • You're not flushing anything out. Your body runs on an auto-cleanse system that's managed by your kidneys, liver, and intestines, and there's no evidence that juice improves the process. If you feel "lighter," it's probably because you're eliminating junk food, not toxins. (See our complete breakdown of what happens to your body on a three-day juice cleanse.) • You won't stay slim forever. You may lose weight, but most of it's likely to be water weight. When you cut calories, your body gets energy by releasing glycogen, a type of carb that holds on to water. As soon as you stop the cleanse, you gain the pounds back. Lasting weight loss comes from changing your diet long-term. • You might feel as if you have the flu. Fatigue, nausea, insomnia and headaches are some of the possible side effects. And if you have a history of eating disorders, a juice fast can trigger a recurrence.
Juicing For Health: Get Your Refreshing Rx
Keep reading to discover the best drink for what's ailing you. Just remember: Because juice doesn't contain fat or protein to sustain you long-term, pair it with a slice of whole-grain toast and peanut butter for breakfast or with almonds or string cheese as an afternoon snack. And make it veggie-focused (Dr. Katz advises a ratio of two parts vegetables to one part fruit for just a hint of sweetness) to keep sugar in check.
Can You Mix Fruits and Vegetables When Juicing https://www.juicingpoint.com/can-you-mix-fruits-and-vegetables-when-juicing
The Best Juice to Fight Aging
Stress, free-radicals, and lack of exercise and sleep can lead to visible aging. Patty James, certified natural chef and author of More Vegetables Please!, recommends incorporating antioxidant-packed fruits and veggies when juicing for health.
Ingredients • 1 1/2 cups liquid of your choice (water, any kind of milk, or aloe vera juice) • 1 cup blueberries • 1/2 cup strawberries • 1 large leaf kale (thick stem removed) • 1/2 medium beet The Best Juice for Your Sex Life While oysters and chocolate are a delicious way to get you and your partner in the mood, they're not so appealing juiced. Thankfully, James' top libido-boosting foods are also delicious in liquid form. "Celery contains an ingredient that increases those well-known pheromones in men that send out signals to women saying 'here I am'," James says. "Watermelon helps to relax the blood vessels that increase sex drive, and avocados contain a B vitamin said to boost male hormone production." (P.S. Your lack of sex drive probably isn't sign of a disorder...) Ingredients • 2 cups coconut water or aloe vera juice • 2 stalks celery • 1/2 banana • 1 small piece ginger • 1/2 avocado • 1 handful basil • 3 figs The Best Juice to Boost Energy
Instead of reaching for a coffee, try a green juice instead. "Chlorophyll, the green pigment in plants, helps oxygenate the blood, creating increased brain function and physical energy," says Judita Wignall, author of Going Raw.
best masticating juicer under $200 https://www.juicingpoint.com/best-masticating-juicer-for-all-requirements-and-budget
Ingredients • 1 large cucumber • 8 stalks celery • 1 handful kale • 1 handful spinach • 1 handful parsley • 1/4 lemon (with rind if organic) • 1-inch piece ginger The Best Juice for Sweet Cravings "Celery juice helps balance out the sweetness of this juice while providing electrolytes and alkalizing minerals, as well as helping to reduce sugar cravings," Wignall says. Also, cinnamon contains compounds that help regulate blood sugar. The ultimate juicing for health equation: Stable blood sugar=less sugar cravings. Ingredients • 2 apples • 8 stalks celery • 1 dash cinnamon The Best Juice for Your Immune System
Sip on this to stay well all year. "Broccoli is very high in vitamin C, which increases the production of infection-fighting white blood cells," Wignall says." Garlic contains sulfur-containing compounds that have powerful immune-boosting antimicrobial properties."
Ingredients • 1 small beet • 3 carrots • 8 stalks celery • 1 stalk broccoli • 2 cloves garlic The Best Juice for Hydration If you want to try juicing for health without investing in a juicer, try coconut water. It delivers a dose of electrolytes similar to those that balance out our own blood. In fact, doctors have used coconuts to help fight dehydrating diseases such as cholera, dysentery, and influenza, helping save the lives of thousands of children in underdeveloped parts of the world, according to Organic Avenue founder Denise Mari. Coconut water is available in many stores and restaurants, or you can make one for yourself.
