May you be happy for a thousand years just for starters! Thank you so much for thinking of my story on this fabulous fabulous day! I literally teared up. I'm at work and don't get to watch the whole thing until tonight, but OMG! Yaaaas Topo Chica!!! You're amazing. Being thought of in connection with my very most closely held rhinky fantasy coming true in front of my eyes is just so thrilling. Thanks love! 💖
Tumblr media
My heart feels like this right now. 💖
Of course! Thank you for gracing us all with that lovely story. 💖
I think that's what I love about both your story and this universe, now, too. How human the experience of dressing up as what you aspire to be and feeling empowered by the metamorphosis. To me, the best drag is less about how someone looks or acts and much more about how someone feels, which is why seeing Link live out his personal unicorn diva fantasy was so rewarding. Which is the exact theme that I found so rewarding in your story.
If anyone hasn't read this but wants a little extra taste of Link learning how healing drag can be firsthand, please do yourself the favor. I'm so happy we have a version of Link in this universe that more fully understands the art.
Now, my only hope is we get a Wet McLaughlin (in more ways than one 😏) in my lifetime. Gingzilla would make a perfect mother, y'all. Please!

BEST TV OF 2022 PART 1
Even tho’ I am hideously late with this, I still want to post it as it’s become a yearly tradition for me. This is just the stuff I’ve watched - there’s still loads of stuff I haven’t caught up with yet.
I like a lot of the comedy panel shows like QI, Have I Got News For You? Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Mock the Week (sorry to see it end this year), Would I Lie to You? Sorry I Didn’t Know That (great to see its return) and The Big Fat Quiz of Everything. I also like comedy shows w/a current affairs slant like The Last Leg, Frankie Boyle’s New World Order and The Ranganation (I also liked Romesh Ranganathan’s travel show, and the one he did on Jimi Hendrix’s death).
2022 saw the return of Starstruck, The Other One, Code 404, and Avenue 5. Plus, final series for Brooklyn Nine Nine and Derry Girls (two of my favourite comedies of recent years) and Christmas specials for The Cleaner and Motherland (still really want Kevin + Amanda to fall in love + live happily ever after) and a reunion special for Bad Education (which is returning next year).
New comedy series that I enjoyed this year – Rosie Molloy Gives Up Everything, The Curse, PRU, Big Boys, The Witchfinder and Am I Being Unreasonable?
I don’t watch any of the reality shows like TOWIE or Made in Chelsea altho’ I did quite enjoy Dubai Bling on Netflix. I tend to prefer reality shows with a competition/creativity element, so I watch things like Strictly Come Dancing, Masterchef, The Great British Bake Off, The Apprentice and Great British Menu. I like the fact that the shows are widening the skills featured so we have The Great Pottery Throw Down, The Great British Sewing Bee, All That Glitters: Britain’s Next Jewellery Star, The Drop (for sportswear/activewear designers), Kirstie’s Handmade Christmas, The Big Blow-Out (for hairdressing), Handmade (for woodworking skills), Stitch, Please (for costume designers),  Interior Design Masters w/Alan Carr, Christmas Cookie Challenge, The Greatest Snowman and Glow Up (for makeup artists – it was great to see the Irish version this year as well as the UK one). As well as the various versions of Legomasters, we finally got some series dedicated to the art of miniatures/dolls houses with The Great Big Tiny Design Challenge w/Sandi Toksvig on Channel 4 and American series, Best in Miniature and Biggest Little Christmas. (Hopefully, we will see more seasons of these + also maybe a series of doll customisers).
I fell in love with Get Organised with the Home Edit on Netflix – there’s something so satisfying about colour coding! I was pleased to see the return of Changing Rooms, This is my House (altho’ I didn’t like the change to shorter episodes), Between the Covers and Grayson’s Art Club. Joe Lycett also did a show about entering the Royal Academy’s summer art exhibition that highlighted a lot of the other entrants. He did another one about David Beckham’s role in the Qatar World Cup. David Baddiel did a documentary about antisemitism.
I also love Drag Race + I think 2022 proved to be a good year with some great contestants especially on Drag Race UK and Canada vs. the World. I also discovered Queen of the Universe which is a singing competition for drag queens (I was a little bit gutted Gingzilla didn’t win as I love them so much). I was pleased to see the return of We’re Here as well.

Bless these episodes for dropping early because I’ve been stressing about the fact that the Drag Race season 14 cast ruveal is also at 8pm
Okay production value
Trixie’s reactions are so cute
“A self proclaimed Skinny Legend”
The $250,000 prize is fucking insane
This judges panel is so damn cute please
Okay Grag Queen!
We are one queen in & I’m already going to cry it’s fine - these competitions with people being like yeah doing this after lockdown ... I can’t <3
Oh high key I think Betty Bitschlap is going to be one of my favorites
Trixie & Michelle’s suggestions yes
Alright I fucking love this show - I fucking love a drag queen who can SING
Is it just me though or are they giving less & less time to each queen
Honestly Trixie dancing & lip syncing in her seat is so freaking cute
“You’re such an idiot” - Michelle to Trixie lmaooo
We love a non-binary drag performer
Okay unfortunately I do not remember the name of this contestant from New York but wow that I’m Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman performance made me cry
I am LIVING for Trixie & Michelle together on this panel!!!
Oh - Gingzilla - MY GOD!
Holy shit!!!!
Trixie thirsting after Gingzilla so true
Gingzilla serving personality too - you know it’s personality that gets me
Leona Winters has an absolutely gorgeous voice wow
I love the questions they’re asking some of the contestants
I do have to say though I don’t love when a season starts with a two part episode & the contestants split up — I guess maybe it doesn’t matter as much with Queen of the Universe as it does on Drag Race but if they do any group work on this show ...
JUJUBEE!!!
(Why did they have them freeze pose during this intro)
Oh okay Ada okay
A standing O from the judges wow
Lmao I love Vanessa twice being like NOT THIS SONG but you did it well
“Only you got that, Trixie, you naughty girl” once again I fucking love Michelle & Trixie together
“I feel free when I’m in drag” - Rani
Listen the short edits they’ve given some of these contestants - they better have cut a ton of whatever song ******* **** sang
“I’ve lost ‘em all” lol
Juju!!!
“You love a competition” ahaha
Ugh just preparing for all of the eye rolling I’m about to do with this contestant
Oh fuck I knew this was going to happen
It’s about to be a long ass season with this contestant fuck
Trixie being triggered by the other judges’ comments about white eye liner & big lashes HAHAHA
Betty Bitschlap, Gingzilla, & Ada Vox are my faves so far
Holy shit they’re eliminating six queens right now???
Alright well ... damn
Oh no not Trixie crying over eliminated queens
I cannot believe they cut SIX CONTESTANTS
Please the judges already saying one of the contestants they sent away was wrong & they’re going to give a second chance please do not play with me like thiiiiiis
Addition since they’re airing the first episode between the cast ruveal & The Bitch Who Stole Christmas — Trixie touching Gingzilla’s beard kills me

With over 30 years of stage experience and as a former performer in Cirque Du Soleil, Regina now works as a vocal coach. Regina Voce literally translates from Italian to “Queen of the Voice” – will the stars align for her to become “Queen of the Universe”?
WOOWU (Guangzhou, China) Instagram: @woowu_eli
Self-taught singer WooWu left her traditional Cantonese household in Guangzhou for the bright lights of Shanghai. A fan of Christina Aguilera, Cher and Patti Labelle who describes her drag persona as “pink, feminine and perfect,” WooWu comes to the competition hoping to not just shine a light on the growing drag scene in China but also to break barriers.
QUEEN OF THE UNIVERSE is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and World of Wonder, the producers of the Emmy® Award-winning franchise RUPAUL’S DRAG RACE.

Catching up on last week’s episode first
Seriously what was the budget for this show - damn
Mm this performance is kind of up & down for me in terms of the voice, but the emotion is THERE
Very much here for the song choices so far
Trixie’s judging: “you bitch”
Grag Queen is definitely still a stand out for me
Honestly the Michelle & Trixie dynamic is everything
“drag jail” lmao
... anyway
Oh good - this is not good, please tell me they go home
Can we please focus on the not having the vocals part because ... this is a singing competition
Alright good good good - didn’t land, love to hear it in this case
I’m definitely a fan of Rani
“I may not be versatile in bed, but my voice is”
ADA OH MY GOD!
“Your boobs are high, your voice is higher”
Okay Gingzilla’s look? Insaaaane so great
Stop this is beautiful
That made me cryyy
Not T saying it’s a very sad song when she’s covered it herself please - I mean true but still <3
Oh good I’m glad La Voix is the queen they brought back - I thought it would be her
“Do you want a hand underneath? We can arrange that for you”
I don’t know how I feel about this studio audience voting situation
Okay the audience got it right those are the six I would have picked for sure to go through & who I would have picked for the bottom three
They really did that, they really didn’t announce who was leaving in this episode??
I guess I’m starting last night’s episode because I need to know
Oh thank fucking god the eliminated the right person THANK YOU
Ohhhh original songs!
Okay wait I want to know how they picked the duet teams though
I’m living for this episode
Trixie just vibing to songs is so cute
Omg Rani <3
Listen Gingzilla’s voice is just incredible
La Voix & Leona Winter really understood the assignment with their looks for the duet
This is so cute please
They made such a good decision bringing La Voix back tbh
La Voix’s humor though
Okayyyyyyy
ADA GIRLLLLLLLL
I know they were duets but them being judged as pairs instead of individually ......
Like A PAIR being eliminated??? This is not it
Wowwwww I can’t believe Gingzilla got eliminated. I don’t think that would have been the case if it was individual
WAIT THEY’RE ELIMINATING *ANOTHER* QUEEN TOO???
I don’t even think La Voix & Leona Winter would both have been in the bottom four if this had been judged individually instead of in pairs damn
I know they only had a max of two & a half weeks to film this season but like ... I kind of wish they had limited how many contestants they started with instead of cutting SO MANY SO QUICKLY
Oh I fucking love Edge of Glory
You know what. You know what. These cliffhangers are not it
