my love and apologies for my very (extremely) late response to your tags @goblinmatriarch @elskanellis @wolfpants @mallstars @lettersbyelise, (and probably more people from farther back) you all are lovely and I'm so excited about the amazing things you have in the works!
This is for my FTH 2023, which I started last year, then completely changed around, then took a long break from, and now am trying to come back to for the long haul. It's for the amazing (and patient) @m0srael and my first attempt at writing ginsy (!!).
Here's something from the very beginning:
The first time I said I loved Harry was when I told him I only loved him as a friend.
“You love me?” he replied, with an amazement that made me want to punch something.
“Of course I do.” I said. “You’re family.”
He looked so happy that I was sure for a moment he forgot I was breaking up with him.
“No one’s ever said that to me.”
“I’m really sorry,” I said.
He looked up, confused. “Why?”
“We’re breaking up? I think?” I wanted to sound more certain, but Harry, despite being lovely, was very confusing. “I mean, I just. I don’t want to be anything more than friends.”
“Oh,” he said.
The grass was soft and lumpy beneath our feet as we walked down the grounds towards the lake. It was September, the air crisp and bright, and coloured orange by the haze of autumn leaves wetted with yesterday’s rain. I didn’t say anything, afraid to break the fragile peace of it. I’d forgotten how quiet peace was.
After a while, he exhaled, a long and gentle sigh. “It’s okay.”
“Can we? Be friends?” I was so afraid he’d say no.
“We have been for a long time,” said Harry. “I don’t see why not.”
“I love you.” Gosh, why were my eyes wet? A stray black curl fluttered over his cheek. He still hadn’t cut it since going on the run, only let it grow longer, a wild black mane that fell to his shoulder blades. There had been a moment when I’d thought he’d died, and I never got to say it.
But here he was, smiling. He nudged my shoulder with his own. “We’re good,” he said. “I think it’ll be good.”

Koi no Yokan (Japanese) - The feeling of excitement you get when you first meet someone and know that you will eventually fall in love with them. A more realistic version of ‘love at first sight’, it roughly translates to ‘premonition of love’.
A story of magic, horses, magical horses, and two men who fight all odds to find their way to each other.
