Donostia condemns the Palestinian genocide one more time (March 17 2024). The image of the crying mother from Picasso's Guernica is again used as a symbol of brotherhood and understanding in horror between Palestine and Euskadi.

Basque people have again taken massively the streets to become an echo of Palestinian cry here in Europe, that seems too deaf and too blind, turning its back when aid is needed the most.

Once again, thousands of people have gathered in Basque Country, through a mobilization, to express their full support for the Palestinian resistance, and to condemn the massacre being carried out against the Palestinians by the "Zionist entity of Israel". This time, the demonstration took place in Goierri: from Ordizia (Gipuzkoa) to Beasain (Gipuzkoa), these slogans were carried by crowds of people. Today, moreover, they put a special emphasis on "the complicity of Western governments and companies with Zionism": in particular, they targeted the CAF company in Goierri, which is why they mobilized in that region. The demonstration has been organized by the Palestine Solidarity platform, and has made a clear demand to CAF: to "leave Palestine once and for all" and to cancel its project to build a railway network in Jerusalem. Thus, the Basque company's "responsibility in the occupation and colonization of Palestinian lands" has been pointed out: "Through the tram that is being built in Palestine, they are confiscating Palestinian properties, evicting Palestinians from the neighborhoods of Jerusalem and facilitating settler expansion." And not only CAF: the members of the platform have reminded people that other companies in Basque Country are also directly responsible for the colonization of Palestine; such as M Torres, Sener, ITP Aero or Sapa arms companies. "The Basque business model, which Basque parties and institutions praise so much, prioritizes economic profits above anything else, and even in our country, big businessmen fill their pockets thanks to the imperialist role of the European Union and NATO," they pointed out.

...At the end of today's demonstration, they called again "to fight against all expressions of Zionism in Basque Country, and to continue to express our active solidarity with the Palestinian people, who have every right to resist."
