Bart: I was bored and reading about deities of the world,
Tim: as you do
Bart: yeah, and you know how Cassie is part Greek God?
Cassie: do I want to know where this is going?
Bart: do you think if we started giving her offerings and worshipping her she'd turn into a full Goddess?
Kon: don't know till we try! OH GODDESS! Accept my offering *throws gummies at Cassie*
Cassie: *smiling with a pack of gummies* you joke but I'm keeping these.
Tim: *not looking up from his phone* oh Goddess Cassie, please let us have a peaceful day.
Cissie: *walking into the room* ?
Kon: we're worshiping Cassie to see if we can make her a Goddess.
Cissie: oh ok, merciful and beautiful Goddess-
Cassie: *laughing*
Cissie: -please grant me knowledge on my next exam because SOMEONE *glares at all of them* keeps pulling me into Young Justice mission's and I haven't studied *drops down in a chair and tosses her a bracelet* my offering.
Cassie: *still laughing* knowledge granted.

I love how Jason’s entire time in jail is basically giving off “leave me alone this the most peace I’ve had in a month” vibes
he’s not even sweatin’ over the fact he didn’t kill the Joker
probably thinking either they’re lookin’ at the wrong one or even thinking “figures” because fuckin guy never dies

YOUNG JUSTICE READING ORDER
This spreadsheet is a masterlist for the original Young Justice team: It includes reading orders for all of the characters individually as well as as a team, showing all of their appearances in main DC continuity preceding the Flashpoint reboot (1986 - 2011).
Right now Cassie and Bart’s lists are still being worked on, but Tim’s, Kon’s, Cissie’s, Greta’s and Anita’s are completed.
Hope you enjoy!
If you like my reading guides or find my spreadsheets helpful and would like to support me, you can do so on my Ko-Fi.

Desi Canonization Tournament Semifinals Round 35
Propaganda under cut:
Himemiya Anthy:
Heavily implied but never stated
She wears a bindi and in one episode, makes a curry so spicy that it causes characters to switch bodies. If that is not an indicator of a desi girl, I don't know what is
Although the director of the anime only made Anthy brown-skinned to make her appear more "exotic", you cannot understand Revolutionary Girl Utena without understanding how Anthy being brown impacts the narrative. Despite being a girl, she is distinctly "Othered" both physically and psychologically from her lighter skinned counterparts. She is known as the Rose Bride, an object to be won by the other duelists. She exists for them to project their desires and fantasies onto, and is simultaneously desired and detested - playing both the part of the princess and the witch. Her body is a site for physical and sexual violence both at the hands of her peers and at Akio's. Some characters view her as an obstacle to their own affections being realised, not understanding that they must turn their grievances upwards and look to dismantle the oppressive system of Ohtori Academy. In addition, the way that she protects Dios/Akio only from the villagers only for him to betray and abuse her is reminiscent of the way that brown women protect brown men from societal judgement and state brutalisation even if that protection is not reciprocated. She is made to bear the brunt of humanity's hatred, as represented by the thousands of swords that impale her body. Her journey of escaping Ohtori Academy and writing her own happy ending is beautiful and I think that she is quintessentially desi in both her trials and her triumphs
Ballister Boldheart:
So, Ballister Boldheart is a knight in a techno-medieval futuristic fantasy world, in a closed-off, fictional country called The Kingdom. The countries, as we know it, don't exist (it's a fantasy world!) The movie is based on a comic of the same name by ND Stevenson. Nate, the author, mentioned once that he imagined Ballister to be of East Asian descent in the comic. In the animated movie, his comic design was significantly altered and modeled after his voice actor, Riz Ahmed, a Pakistani-origin British actor. Hence, compared to the comic, movie Ballister has a much darker skin complexion, and his South Asian features are more pronounced. Ahmed had also made it a point not to hide his natural accent while playing the character. Nate, in an interview, has said that Riz Ahmed was such a perfect cast for Ballister that all of his memories of the character from the comic were just replaced by him. Racism is not overtly present in the movie, however, if you squint, Ballister's story could *also* function as an allegory on racism, about how brown men are demonized in society due to preconceived notions (spoilers: The Director, a white woman in power, killed the black head of the state who wanted to reform the system, and framed Ballister as a villain and terrorist for the murder)
He is just looking for acceptance :( My boy has so much self esteem issues. He tries so hard and is always doing his best and yet is afraid that it won't be enough and people will still end up hating him.
this post by @sir-ballister-boldheart is a compilation of fanfiction that explores Ballister's Pakistani and South Asian heritage: https://www.tumblr.com/sir-ballister-boldheart/744811107335782400/desi-ballister-desi-ballister?source=share
