‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭1:12‭-‬17‬ (‭GNT‬‬). “I give thanks to Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength for my work. I thank him for considering me worthy and appointing me to serve him, even though in the past I spoke evil of him and persecuted and insulted him. But God was merciful to me because I did not yet have faith and so did not know what I was doing. And our Lord poured out his abundant grace on me and gave me the faith and love which are ours in union with Christ Jesus. This is a true saying, to be completely accepted and believed: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. I am the worst of them, but God was merciful to me in order that Christ Jesus might show his full patience in dealing with me, the worst of sinners, as an example for all those who would later believe in him and receive eternal life. To the eternal King, immortal and invisible, the only God—to him be honor and glory forever and ever! Amen.”
“Grace on Display” By In Touch Ministries:
“Even the worst of sinners is welcome to receive God's extravagant mercy and love.”
“Paul described himself as the worst of sinners and as someone to whom the Lord had expressed His favor and love (1 Tim. 1:16 NIV). How could he be both? That’s the power of God’s grace: Though sinners, we become spiritually alive and receive a new purpose for living.
After Paul met the Savior, he cared deeply about those who did not yet know God, and he also desired to help Christians grow in their faith. For the rest of his life, he shared the gospel, encouraged fellow believers, and met the needs of others. He acted as God’s ambassador to the Gentiles, and his letters became biblical wisdom for future generations.
Through the transforming work of the Holy Spirit, Paul began to display more and more Christlike qualities. In his writings, we see compassion, great humility, and appreciation for God’s blessings. Only the grace of God could enable a well-educated and influential man to count all his credentials a “loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord” (Philippians 3:8).
Paul’s life is an example of God working through sinners and transforming them. The Holy Spirit seeks to do the same for you and me. Are you allowing God’s favor and love to work within you?”

What do you tell people about your faith?
For a lot of us, the answer is not much of anything.
Maybe we’re around people where it’s not welcome. Maybe we just don’t think to.
Maybe we don’t want to be like the jerks online who use God as a weapon.
Whatever the reason, we don’t just really talk about it.
But that doesn’t mean we’re not telling people about our faith.
Without speaking a word, without even meaning to, you and I tell people volumes about our faith.
We tell them about our faith by how we interact with them.
We tell them what our faith means in practice – we tell them how God will treat them – by how we treat them.
There’s an easy way for us to know what we’re telling them. You and I can see it in what they carry away from us.
If you’ve ever been around a truly holy person. The sort of person whose peace and quiet joy you couldn’t avoid carrying with you when you parted? Then you know what I’m talking about.
The thing is, having people carry that away from you isn’t something that’s reserved for the saints.
It’s something that even you and I can do – because God has already filled us with the grace to do it.
How? St. Faustina Kowalska (today’s saint) gives us the roadmap,
“Act in such a way that all those who come in contact with you will go away joyful.
Sow happiness about you because you have received much from God; give, then, generously to others.
They should take leave of you with their hearts filled with joy, even if they have no more than touched the hem of your garment.”

“I never knew you; depart from Me.”
What? He was joking. He had to be.
I wanted to laugh it off. To see him smile like he always did, to feel his warm embrace. But I was terrified.
But there I stood before his throne, my legs giving out and leaving me on my knees before him. I needed to speak, to make sure this was some sort of misunderstanding.
“Father…what’re you saying?” I whispered. My body was trembling, and my heart was pounding. Sure, I’d made mistakes. Plenty of them. But he’d always forgiven me. He’d made it better. He said he loved me.
“Depart.”
I flinched at his command. What had I done? My mind was racing with every regret I’d had, every mistake and bad choice, every sin. I didn’t want to leave him, not ever. I loved him.
“P-Please,” I whimpered. Immediately tears ran down my cheeks. Not at the thought of going to hell, but at the idea of being apart from him for eternity.
But he didn’t look back. I was nothing to him.
I felt a strong pair of arms lift me from the ground and pull me away from him. From his light. From his love.
“Baby?”
The soft voice stirred me out of my nightmare and my eyes slowly opened to meet his. I was speechless, blinking back tears that only pushed through and soaked my cheeks.
“Daddy?” I whimpered.
The dream had felt so real. Too real. I almost didn’t believe this was him. The real him. But the relief was overwhelming.
I crumbled into his arms and broke down. I had really thought it was over, that he’d rejected me, abandoned me forever.
“Sweetheart, what’s wrong?”
He looked so concerned, and beautiful. He was so beautiful. I just cried into his chest and clung to his waist. He was a lifeline, something I would never let go of.
“I thought you didn’t want me anymore,” I choked out. I could hardly breathe with how panicked I was over the dream, but the instant his arms wrapped around me, I felt safe.
“Didn’t want you anymore?” he repeatedly softly. I just nodded, unable to even lift my head because of how scared I’d been.
“Like in the verse,” I whimpered, pointing at the Bible on my nightstand with a shaky hand, “last night, we read Matthew 7. Depart from me, I never knew you. That’s what you said.” I cried.
His arms tightened around my waist and I could feel his lips plant the softest kiss on my forehead.
“Listen to me, sweet girl”
His hand came to wipe my tears away and lift my chin until our eyes met.
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name? And then I will declare unto them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’ That is what we read yes? In Matthew 7?”
“Yes,” I mumbled into his chest. I could feel him trying to calm me down, his fingers moving to gently brush through my hair.
“Yes, that’s right, little one. Not everyone who says to me ‘Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father. And you have done well, my love.”
“I have?” I whimpered. I knew I should believe him, but I didn’t. I sinned all the time. Every day.
“Yes, you have done well. Sure, you make mistakes, but you try your hardest to follow me and love me with all your heart. You’re such a good girl, and I’m proud of you.”
It didn’t make sense. Part of me still felt like I was dreaming, that this mercy couldn’t be true.
But it was.
My grasp around him only got stronger. “You know I love you, right?” I whispered. It was true, I did love him. More than anything.
“I know, baby. I know.”

But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved.

I am an imperfect mess perfected by God
Tumblr media
God, I really am tired of constantly feeling like I have to fit the the various molds of everyone's assumptions, expectations, and ideas of me. I just want to be free to be me and it's been really hard to do that when it seems that I've been placed on this high pedal stool that I never asked to be set on. I'm equally as human as my neighbor, yet when I fall short, I'm judged extra by the world because of my faith.
I know that there are things I need to work on and allow you to rid me of, and it bothers me that I’m viewed as this perfect, sinless, and innocent girl. I struggle with sin just as much as anyone else and desperately need your grace and mercy every single second of the day.
Help me to be raw, authentic, real, and as open as I need to be so that I can better relate to those around me. Where there be flaws in me, let them be seen in hopes of connecting with the lost that they may be saved. Whatever image has been painted in the minds of my peers, let it be destroyed and recreated by you.
I get that not everyone will like or accept me, and I just ask that you would help me to be okay with that. my only hope is that when people see me, they see you. Forgive me for falsely displaying your character as well as misinterpreting who you are to the world. As I decrease, Lord, I ask that you increase in me. Have your way in me, God. My life is yours.

Salvation by Faith in God
8 You were saved by faith in God, who treats us much better than we deserve. This is God's gift to you, and not anything you have done on your own. 9 It isn't something you have earned, so there is nothing you can brag about. 10 God planned for us to do good things and to live as he has always wanted us to live. This is why he sent Christ to make us what we are. — Ephesians 2:8-10 | Contemporary English Version (CEV) Holy Bible, Contemporary English Version Copyright © 1995 by American Bible Society. Jesus Christ, Our Great High Priest, Redeemer, Savior and Lord
Jesus Christ, our Great High Priest, has atoned for our sins, once for all, and has reconciled us to God our Maker.
God's perfect sacrificial Lamb without blemish, offered Himself for our redemption, and is the only Mediator between God and men.
Tumblr media
John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
Ephesians 1:7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Hebrews 10:1-7 For the law, having a shadow of the good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with these same sacrifices, which they offer continually year by year, make those who approach perfect.
For then would they not have ceased to be offered? For the worshipers, once purified, would have had no more consciousness of sins. But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year. For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins.
Therefore, when He came into the world, He said: "Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, but a body You have prepared for Me. In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin You had no pleasure. Then I said, 'Behold, I have come—In the volume of the book it is written of Me—To do Your will, O God.' "
Isaiah 53:4-6 Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way; and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. Hebrews 10:14 For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified. Hebrews 10:19-23 Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. (See also Hebrews Chapters 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 in its entirety.)
Matthew 27:50-53 And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit. Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split, and the graves were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many. Ephesians 2:13-18 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.
(See Ephesians Chapter 2 in its entirety.) The good news of God's salvation is to be proclaimed in all the earth. Whosoever will may come, both Jew and Gentile; receive God's pardon and walk in newness of life. - A Walk In The Garden Devotions

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭42:5-‬11‬ ‭(NLT‬‬). “Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again— my Savior and my God! Now I am deeply discouraged, but I will remember you— even from distant Mount Hermon, the source of the Jordan, from the land of Mount Mizar. I hear the tumult of the raging seas as your waves and surging tides sweep over me. But each day the Lord pours his unfailing love upon me, and through each night I sing his songs, praying to God who gives me life. “O God my rock,” I cry, “why have you forgotten me? Why must I wander around in grief, oppressed by my enemies?” Their taunts break my bones. They scoff, “Where is this God of yours?”.Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again— my Savior and my God!”
“Find Help in God’s Presence” By In Touch Ministries:
“Take your pain to the Lord—you can rely on Him.”
“Whenever you’re feeling down, the Psalms are an excellent source of comfort and encouragement. In today’s passage, the psalmist shares how God offers comfort to you, His child, in hard times. To receive it, you should …
Look within. Before you can deal with despair, you need to know what is causing it. If you’re not sure, ask the Lord to help you figure out what’s going on.
Look up. The next step is to lift your eyes to the Lord and place your hope in Him. Remember, discouragement comes to everybody at one time or another, but it should not be permanent.
Look back. Despair has a way of making you forget all the good things God has done over the years. Recalling His past care and provision helps to overpower discouragement.
Look ahead. Knowing that the Lord’s plans are good, you can look forward to what He is going to do in the future. His lovingkindness will support you by day and bring comfort by night.
To overcome discouragement, fixing your focus on the Lord is key. His Word promises that He walks with you through the valley. Remember, even if you feel disheartened, you are never alone.”

You Can’t Do This Alone
Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall. Psalms‬ ‭55‬:‭22‬ One of the things I’ve always struggled with is asking for help. Asking for help is a sign of weakness. Asking for help can be placing a burden on someone else. Asking for help implies I don’t know what to do next. All of those things aren’t necessarily true but that is…
