thinking about dan feng/zuo ran vs imbibitor lunae/artem wing.
dan feng being ‘autumn leaves’, and autumn colours are ‘burning’ (zuo ran), imbibitor lunae literally means drinking under the moon and artemis is the moon goddess. dan heng follows the path of the hunt and artemis is also goddess of the hunt.

@yumingyesfairy I just finished episode 18 of Dance of the Phoenix...
Mu Yao...Mu Yao...MU - F*CKING - YAO! Girl...Zuo told this b*tch to leave Zhaoge alone and what does she do instead? Try to bully the girl into a fight. Zuo really did try and now I understand why she's so devoted to her. It's a shame Zhaoge doesn't see things from her perspective though. I get it though. She (Zhaoge) believed everyone abandoned her (and that couldn't be further from the truth).
I still don't like the love rival to Feng Wu angle though. It just feels forced. I do like Zuo as a rival, but not that kind of rival. Besides, I think she's a far better match for Yu Mingye (yes, even romantically lol)

The Ladies of Dance of the Phoenix (featuring Jun Linyuan and Yu Mingye).
Lyrics: Song of Women by The HU ft Lzzy Hale (I highly recommend giving it a listen as well as Wolf Totem).
I’m very new to gif making so bear with me. This is all just practice. But advice and constructive criticism is welcome. I’m a blank slate when it comes to anything like this.
I think I should’ve used different fonts for each line.

A show that could have been better developed.
Honestly, I started watching this drama because of Wang Hao Xuan, I think that many know him for the role of Xue Yang in The Untamed. As I really liked his acting and his character in the drama, I became a fan and wanted to follow the dramas in which he participated.
Then my saga begins to watch Dance Of Phoenix. At the time I was already in doubt if I would even watch this drama, basically because the story seemed like the typical story of Chinese drama, there was nothing really attractive to me, but I decided to continue on to Hao Xuan.
History: There was nothing very new for me, if you have seen some Chinese dramas, you must have seen some similar story or the same kind of development. Although it is based on the novel Godly Empress Doctor, I don't think they adapted the novel well. They could have developed the story further and added more episodes. It all happened so fast, the romance, the events ... So, for me the story was kind of uninteresting. I liked DarkNight Court, they were more interesting than the Celestial Palace and if I had explored their story further, the drama would have been better. I prefer the dark side of strength.
CGI: They weren't bad. The eagle (episode 1) and the rays (episode 26) were good effects, and the monster (episode 10), the wolf (episode 25) and the rays were good makeups. He liked the effect of the Court's powers as well.
OST: There is nothing special about OST, only two songs won my attention, which were the closing song (Tai Chu) and another song that appears in episode 26 (Lin Zhou) theme by Yu Mingye.
Performance: I will start with the protagonists, I liked the performance of the female protagonist, she had funny and cute expressions and knew how to be serious at the right moments, the protagonist I felt a little rigid and emotionless in some important moments of the plot, although I believe that your character has that kind of personality.
The other actors did well and captivated me. I really liked: Wang Hao Xuan (Yu MingYe) - his performance is totally different from his performance in The Untamed, as the expressive, sexy and charismatic villain Xue Yang. Here he was more serious, but we can see his emotions. I am very proud of how much he has improved <3
Guo Cheng (Feng Xun) - Made me laugh with his cute and funny acting like Feng Xun. I loved your expressions.
Estella Chen (Zhao Ge) Gao Ji Cai (Xuan Yi) - They were good too, she playing the cute Zhao Ge and he the serious and cute Xuan Yi.
Jinna (Zuo Qinluan) Played her villain very well, she had good expressions and made us angry with her character.
Characters:
Tumblr media
Feng Wu: I like her very much, because she is an interesting, beautiful, intelligent, fun, independent and strong character (I love when she wears red) Wu is a kind of female character difficult to see in a Chinese drama, as it seems it became "fashionable" for female protagonists to be weak, fragile, with a child's voice, unable to make any decision and stupid as a door. I really avoid watching dramas that have characters like that, for me, as a woman, it's offensive.
Tumblr media
So having a character like her is a very good thing. I like the fact that she is decisive and does not let anyone put her down and that she is not a lady in danger who needs to be saved every 5 minutes. Her fight scene against the goddess Zuo was incredible, she looked very powerful and reminded me of the unbeatable Feng Wu of the novel. Wu has her own goals, her focus has always been to recover her cultivation and save her master and that makes me admire her as a woman.
Tumblr media
I missed seeing more scenes of her fighting or training, since she had incredible powers but which unfortunately were not so well explored in the drama, and only appeared in a moment of danger and then "PUFF" disappeared. But in general, she is a strong, adorable character, with a good heart and an incredible woman.
Tumblr media
Jun LiYuan: What about him? Basically he is the typical character who dresses in white in Chinese dramas, who has the personality of an ice pack and who is all-powerful and who flatter everyone. I'm not a big fan of characters like that and from what I heard, in the novel he is unbearable and has no excuse for the pills he took in childhood, in the novel this pill never existed, he is cold, rude and arrogant by nature.
Tumblr media
They made him a little better in the drama, but he's not my type of character. And he had no chemistry with Feng Wu, his interactions were monotonous and I was always bored or messed with his cell phone when they interacted, because it was all a little forced, in fact they seemed more friends than lovers. We can't feel their love.
Tumblr media
Yu Mingye: He and Feng Wu are the best characters without a doubt, in my opinion they are the most developed. MingYe had more depth than Liyuan. He grew up in a toxic environment, with an abusive father (he was punished when he failed on a mission) and yet he was someone with a good heart and kindness. He could be immature, powerful and arrogant and at the same time naive, adorable, selfless, gentle, loving and loyal.
Tumblr media
I wish they had given him more screen time, but even with the little screen time, he stole the show. All the comments I read on Youtube talked about him and how he was the best Liyuan and that Feng Wu should stay with MingYe ( everyone fell in love with him)
He had a lot of chemistry with her and would be a more interesting couple than Feng Wu and Jun Liyuan (I wish Yu MingYe and Feng Wu had been together in the end). MingYe showed that he really loved Wu because he always helped and supported her in his follies, he was always the first to take action and save her, he gave up on her because he knew she loved the other, and yet he said that they could be friends ( even suffering from it) he indirectly helped save Wu and the others, when they would be trapped on the mountain because of the barrier that Mozun placed. While fighting LiYuan, he guided him so that his blows would hit the main points of the barrier. And for the love of Wu, he went against his father and cut him off to save her, and he knew what was going to happen to him and yet he went and did it. And we know what happened to him, don't we ??? I haven't recovered from that yet.
In the end, he lost everything through unrequited love. He lost his arm, his court and in the end even his father. All this so that the protagonists lived well. And in the end he continued to help everyone, he released LiYuan and helped Feng Wu to win (even though it would make his court lose). If that's not being a good character, then I don't know what it is. In the end, he was the most wronged character in the drama and deserved much more. If there is a second season, give it a decent ending. Hao Xuan did a good job playing YMY, he loved his fight scenes, the style of his clothes and his acting. He has a strong presence, incredible beauty and looks stunning with period clothes and long hair
Feng Xun, Zhao Ge, Xuan Yi and Qing Qinluan: Feng Xun was the typical character who talked too much and outgoing, I really had fun with what he did, too bad they didn't give him much time and much importance. Zhao Ge was adorable and his romance with the serious and cute Xuan Yi was very cute, they had great chemistry and were the best couple.
Zuo Qinluan could have been better used, I found his death very early. She was an interesting character, she was powerful and she had her own motivations that involved power. She was very envious of Wu and wanted to take her place at all costs.
End: Although I don't care about a sad ending, I do care about the incomplete ending. It was kind of disappointing, although I don't care that they don't end up together. I didn't find the couple engaging or with chemistry so I wasn't sad. I felt that the last chapter could have been better elaborated, I thought that everything happened very quickly.

Tears of Themis : Chapter 1 “Social Snobbery” Part 1
[Masterlist] | [Next Part]
youtube
Location- Industrial Warehouse
(Early in the morning, a bustle of movement disturbed the quiet night at a raw chemical warehouse situated in Stellis City’s Industrial Zone. A group of warehouse clerks that should have been on break opened the warehouse doors as they manned robots that lugged barrel after barrel of raw materials which were loaded on carts.)
Man on Comms: “Raven, please report on the investigation progress.”
(The man called Raven moved to hide himself behind storage containers, and adjusted his night-vision goggles, turning on thermal imaging.)
Man on Comms: “Raven, do you copy? Did something happen to you?”
(Raven tapped on his earpiece three times and silenced it. The voice in the comms was effectively cut with it.)
Warehouse Clerk A: “These late night shifts are awful, what sorta business couldn’t we have left for tomorrow morning?”
Warehouse Clerk B: “Shut your trap; the sooner you stop complaining, the faster we can finish our job.”
Warehouse Clerk A: “Speaking of, where did Minister Xu go? He was…”
Warehouse Clerk B: “I told you to shut it! Are you daft?”
(The reprimanded clerk scratched their neck and went quiet. Soon after, the raw materials were loaded into the truck, and they drove away. The opening and closing of the warehouse doors, and even the workers’ small dispute, was semi-audible through Raven’s earpiece. His brows furrowed. He must have picked up something in their conversation… either that, or he was simply dissatisfied with the quality of his gear.)
Tumblr media
Raven: “An abnormal delivery…”
(His fingers were like a blur as he typed away on his smart watch, pulling up information on the warehouse owners. Raven pressed his earpiece, and sent his last transmission of the night.)
Raven: “He Yin, Ya Ning, no anomalies detected. Mark Hai O’Sen.”
Without waiting for a confirmation on the other end, Raven turned and stalked away with the stealth of a black leopard, fading into the pitch black tar of the night…
~~~~~~
Location- Outside the Law Firm
(It’s Saturday morning, and the CBD building is quiet. Compared to the usual hub hub from workers rushing about on a business day, the silent streets were quite unsettling.)
MC: “Should I go pick up something sweet? It’s been tough working overtime to prepare for the exam, I ought to treat myself! I guess that’s decided!”
(Just as I walked through the office doors, I nearly crashed into a deliveryman as he halted me on the way to the dessert shop.)
Tumblr media
Delivery Man: “Excuse me, is uh… mis Law Firm in this building?”
MC: “This is Themis Law Firm, who are you looking for?”
MC: (Themis, the goddess of good council’s, name is difficult to pronounce… Even if Zhai Xing came up with the name with good implications, she seems to have failed to consider whether or not the name would even stick with others.)
Delivery Man: “Does Zuo Ran work here? I have a package under his name.”
MC: “Lawyer Zuo? He’s off today, so he won’t be in. Can I accept the parcel on his behalf? I’m also a lawyer at Themis, I can show you my work badge.”
Tumblr media
[Game Instructions: Enter your name]
Delivery Man: “By our policy, it does have to be the intended recipient… but a lawyer is worthy of being trusted; I’ll have to ask you to forward it then.”
MC: “I-it’s heavy! I should put this down before heading to the dessert shop.”
~~~~~~
Location- Zuo Ran’s Office
MC: “Huu… what a heavy package. It must be case files again, why can’t they just send it over electronically…”
MC: “Eh? Lawyer Zuo?!”
Tumblr media
(I-is this the Zuo Ran I’ve come to know? The chief of Themis, the youngest elite lawyer in the industry, Zuo Ran? He sat, slouched in the leather chair, as the first rays of the morning sun shone through the windows and onto his face, but it did little to erase the fatigue that had settled between his brows. At this moment, he appeared almost as if he were a traveler who had just returned from a perilous and long journey, and had finally put down his heavy bags and had a moment to breathe. But not before the weariness settled in.)
MC: “Lawyer Zuo, you....” Zuo Ran: “MC, it’s you?”
MC: “I- I’m sorry, I didn’t know you were in here, so I entered without knocking…”
(Zuo Ran loosened his tie and sighed. Compared to his usual immaculately pressed suit, seeing him like this was like unlocking something that wasn’t meant to be seen by others.)
Zuo Ran: “It’s alright…”
~~~
[Investigate Zuo Ran’s tie]
Tumblr media
MC: (Lawyer Zuo changes his tie everyday… This is the same tie that he wore yesterday, it seems like he stayed overnight at the Law Firm.)
~~~
[Investigate books]
Tumblr media
MC: (What’s this? I’ve never seen these books in Lawyer Zuo’s office before. “Undecided Event Book”... the name is so strange. Is this Lawyer Zuo’s new case? Unless… it’s some kind of weird novel he’s been reading?
~~~
[Investigate papers]
Tumblr media
MC: (Isn’t this in regards to the trans-national trade dispute? The client has been quite unreasonable; perhaps that’s the reason for Lawyer Zuo’s troubles. Zhai Xing has urged Lawyer Zuo to find someone to help him with his workload many times. Although I don’t know how Lawyer Zuo feels about her suggestion.)
~~~
MC: “Lawyer Zuo, you look really pale, are you sick? “
(Zuo Ran pressed his temples as his brows knit together.)
Zuo Ran: “I’m alright, nothing’s wrong.”
MC: (Are you really alright?)
(Zuo Ran’s voice sounded raspy. It seems like he is mustering up strength just to respond to my questions.)
MC: “I’ll go make you some coffee, I’ll leave your package on the ottoman.”
Zuo Ran: “Alright, I’ll have to trouble you for that much.”
~~~
Location- Break Room
MC: “Lawyer Zuo must’ve worked overtime the entire night, right? Those strange books and files on his desk… did he take up a new case? If that’s how hard elite lawyers work, I have to ramp up my efforts! I must pass the intermediate exams!”
(An enticing aroma wafted from the coffee maker. Just as I was preparing Zuo Ran’s mug, someone’s device started vibrating.)
MC: “Hm?” (The notifications were coming from a tablet beside the coffee maker. I pressed the power button, and the screen lit up to life.)
~~~
[Investigate notification]
Tumblr media
MC: “‘Sky-high copyright lawsuit verdict: XueYu Jewelry won the case!’... The push notification is from a news outlet. XueYu Jewelry’s case was handled by Lawyer Zuo; of course he would come out on top! I’ve never heard of Lawyer Zuo losing a case, but everyone else claims he wins 99% of the cases he handles… perhaps he lost a case before he came to Themis?”
~~~
[Investigate passcode]
Tumblr media
MC: “Unrecognized fingerprint, I can’t unlock it…”
~~
[Investigate back of tablet]
Tumblr media
MC: “A YingYuan sticker? Isn’t this the idol that ChengCheng has been obsessing over? This must be ChengCheng’s tablet. She’s so scatterbrained, always misplacing things. I bet she’s probably at home searching for her tablet...”
~~~~~~
(Just as I was about to set the tablet down, the screen lit up with yet another notification.)
MC: “A Genetic drug for cancer treatment released, YanNing Biology Company writes a new chapter in medical advancement! A new medicine, again? There’s been a lot of funding being invested in the development of medicine. Aside from YanNing Biology, the HeYin Pharmaceuticals development isn’t trivial, either. That market’s competition must be fierce! Though, that’s just good news for patients.”
~~~~~~
Location- Zuo Ran’s Office
MC: “Lawyer Zuo, coffee’s ready.”
Zuo Ran: “I appreciate it, thanks.”
Tumblr media
(By the time I came back, Zuo Ran had begun to organize the case files. He was focused as he poured over the information, and the fountain pen between his fingers did not rest as it took notes and circled important details. Judging by the parcel wrapping in his trash bin, I’m guessing he has already begun looking into the new case. I carefully brush aside some of the documents and place the coffee mug by his hand.) MC: “Is this an urgent case? I think you should rest for a bit.”
Zuo Ran: “No need. It’s Saturday, why are you here?”
MC: “I’m preparing for the intermediate lawyer exam. I thought if I studied at Thermis, it would be easier to reference information.”
Zuo Ran: “I see. If you need help, you can come find me, I’ll be here the whole day.”
MC: “That’s great! Thank you, Lawyer Zuo! Lawyer Zuo, you probably haven’t had anything to eat all day, have you? I’m about to go…”
(The office doorbell suddenly rang.)
Zuo Ran: “We have guests?”
MC: “I’ll go take a look.”
Zuo Ran: “If it’s anything you can’t handle, send them to my office.”
MC: “Will do.” ~~~~~~
Location- Themis Law Firm’s Reception Area
(By the front door, a man and a woman are arguing.)
Tumblr media
Man: “Xue XinRan, the old man has already accepted his fate. Why do you need to go to such lengths? Filing a case is just a waste of money. If you really wanna go through the hassle, why not employ our MeiWeiKa PR agency? We can guarantee your ‘QingPing Restaurant Scandal’ be served without any dirt.”
Tumblr media
Xue XinRan: “What nonsense! Lu HaiYang, you’re lying through your teeth! MeiWeiKa only looks to squeeze money from us merchants; you’ve never cared about anyone’s well-being!”
(Suddenly, the man named Lu HaiYang stepped toward Xue XinRan and grabbed her wrist.)
Lu HaiYang: “Watch what you say, Xue XinRan. Our company has prestige, and it isn’t something that can be uprooted by the words of a country bumpkin.
MC: “Sir, this is a Law Firm, I ask that you remain respectful!”
(I separated the two, and pushed XinRan behind me.)
(未定事件簿) EVENT!「消失的黄金」 [Tears of Themis] EVENT: The Lost Gold Translations (Chapter 4-01: Seaside Ferry)
“With that Diary Notebook and the Ancient Copper Coin Necklace, we can still make him admit to his crimes even without the other murder weapons.“
*Tears of Themis Masterlist  *Spoiler free: Translations will remain under cut *The tracking tag for ALL Event Stories will go under: #Tears of an Event *(y/n) is your name when in direct referral; otherwise referred to as MC.
Tumblr media
Location: Seaside Ferry
After restraining all four targets, all the members of the Investigation Team gathered back together at the Ferry Crossing at the end of the Event.
The final winner of the Nosta Island Treasure Hunt had also been decided by this time and all the other participants filed into the finishing line one after another. Lin Dahai, Wang Xian and Tian Yu had all been sent to the Hospital first due to their injuries, and Xia Yan had handed Dong Hechuan over to the Security Personnel to keep an eye on him.
As soon as everything had been settled, we found ourselves encountering something strange.
Tumblr media
MC: You're saying that Sang Ge has gone missing?
Sang Ge, the strange fellow we met at the Event's starting point before it started, had disappeared from the Ferry.
Tumblr media
Staff Member: Yes. He was still sitting here 10 minutes ago muttering to himself, no one knew what he was up to.
Staff Member: Not too long ago, we heard a loud noise and thought that something had exploded, only to find the guy missing.
The staff pointed to the place where Sang Ge had been at while he spoke. There were only a few slates of rock left in his wake.
I stepped forward and observed the slates, noting how it was engraved with many Arabic Numerals of "0" and "1"...
MC: What is this? It reminds me a little of...a computer's Binary Code?
Staff Member: He was very excited before his disappearance, saying something about how he had "found the law of this world"...
Staff Member: Actually, we all thought he had a screw loose in his head, so no one dared approach him...
Tumblr media
Lu Jinghe: Someone going missing is a serious matter. Notify the respective personnel and search the Island for him.
Lu Jinghe: Call the Police if he still can't be found by the time the Event Ends even with everyone deployed. Let the Police from Country A continue looking for him.
The guy immediately spurred into action at his instructions.
Tumblr media
Mo Yi: This guy called Sang Ge is rather interesting. I'd love to talk to him if we ever do manage to find him.
Tumblr media
Zuo Ran: How about we talk about the more pressing matters instead of these useless things?
Zuo Ran: Xia Yan, this sheepskin parchment probably has something to do with your mission here, am I right?
Zuo Ran: Have you located the loot that had failed to be recovered that year yet?
Tumblr media
Xia Yan: The location where it's hidden at should be written somewhere within these riddles. Oh, didn't you guys say that you've got something like these too back in the Communication Channel?
He pointed at the piece of parchment that Zuo Ran handed him, looking at both Mo Yi and Lu Jinghe.
Lu Jinghe: Not only do I have the riddle, but I've also picked up a Stone Sculpture.
Lu Jinghe: Mo Yi, you informed us to keep an eye out for anything that might possibly be related to Egypt. This was the only thing I found.
Lu Jinghe: I see...that you've got something similar in your hands?
Mo Yi: I have a figure of Isis aside from this Stone Sculpture.
Mo Yi: The owner of this figure might very well be the second-in-command of the Robbery Gang back then.
Zuo Ran: Speaking of decorations, Wang Xian dropped a necklace when he attacked Lin Dahai in the cave.
Zuo Ran: This necklace can become evidence of Dong Hechuan having murdered Lin Dahai's father back then.
Mo Yi: I asked Wang Xian about it on the way back. He said that the necklace was something he had dug out on his first visit here.
☆⋅⋆…⋅─────────── ⋆⋅✾⋅⋆ ───────────⋅…⋆⋅☆
Tumblr media
Location: Temporary Camp
Mo Yi: Wang Xian, why do you have that Ancient Copper Coin Necklace? Wasn't that Dong Hechuan's?
Tumblr media
Wang Xian: I dug it out when I came here for the first time. It was in the Cave that I was injured at.
Wang Xian: There were other knick-knacks buried together with the necklace in a chest.
Wang Xian: I've seen the detailed case file pertaining to the Gold Robbery before. Thus, I knew that this Ancient Copper Coin Necklace was the murder weapon that had been used to kill Lin Dahai's father.
Wang Xian: That's why I kept the necklace, in hopes of exchanging it with the records that Dong Hechuan has of my contrabands.
Tumblr media
Mo Yi: He didn't agree?
Wang Xian: He didn't. He said that I had no evidence to back up my claim and that the necklace was a part of his collection.
☆⋅⋆…⋅─────────── ⋆⋅✾⋅⋆ ───────────⋅…⋆⋅☆
Tumblr media
Zuo Ran: Dong Hechuan is very smart and what he said is correct. Even if the necklace was the murder weapon, we have no way to prove that it was his.
Zuo Ran: Although he removed the logo of the Robbery Gang that had been tied in with the knot, it can only prove that this is something related to the Gang and not Dong Hechuan himself.
Zuo Ran: I was initially planning on handing it over to Yan Wei so that he could run forensics on it. Otherwise...
Tumblr media
Lu Jinghe: Now that's a coincidence. I've got a Diary from Tian Yu which I think might come in handy.
He pulled out the Diary Notebook just as he said that.
Lu Jinghe: The Diary has his name and the contents inside are all written by him. It denotes every single item in his "collection" in detail.
Lu Jinghe: Every time he kills someone, he'll number tag the murder weapon, take a photo of it and write the process of how the murder was carried out in his Diary.
Lu Jinghe: In his opinion, these are all his "contributions" as he makes his way in the world. Huh.
Xia Yan: This Diary was also mentioned in his phone call with Tian Yu.
Zuo Ran: Looking at it in this manner, does this mean that Lin Dahai's father is the 17th person he has murdered? The Ancient Copper Coin Necklace had a wooden plate with the number 17 on it.
Mo Yi: Now, we have gathered enough evidence to convict Dong Hechuan.
MC: This thing...
I took a look at Dong Hechuan's Diary while they discussed among themselves.
Among all the things denoted within, the 16th murder weapon looked to be an inconspicuous piece rope that resembled the chain of a necklace. There was an "L" shaped object made of an unknown material hanging from the rope.
Tumblr media
MC: Take a look at this. Do you think murder weapon no.16 can be pieced together with the Isis pendent figure that Dr. Mo found?
Xia Yan: Isis is the Goddess of Life in Ancient Egyptian Mythology. Her crown is that of a throne.
Xia Yan: The throne will be simplified into an "L" shape like this one here in some circumstances, to make it easier to make.
Mo Yi: I've realized that this figure was incomplete before. So the answer was here after all...
Mo Yi: If that's so, then the second leader-in-command had died by Dong Hechuan's hand back then.
Zuo Ran: Their relationship with each other might have just been one-sided on the second-leader-in-command’s part. Dong Hechuan had planned on taking advantage of her feelings from the start.
Zuo Ran: Mo Yi, is the chest that Wang Xian dug up back then still around?
Mo Yi: I’ve asked him about it before, he said that he threw everything other than the Ancient Copper Coin Necklace.
MC: Then her death’s grievance...
Zuo Ran: According to that book, Yang Tiange wasn’t the only one who had died an unjustly death.
Zuo Ran: But don’t worry. With that Diary Notebook and the Ancient Copper Coin Necklace, we can still make him admit to his crimes even without the other murder weapons.
MC: You’re right!
Xia Yan: Thinking about it now, the internal scuffle that had taken place back then must have been caused by Dong Hechuan manipulating the second leader-in-charge’s feelings for him.
MC: That piece of scum’s plan was to kill off everyone else and take all the gold for himself.
Xia Yan: Unfortunately, Yang Tiange had failed to realize this even when she died, even going as far as to give him another hint that would bring him closer to his goal before she passed.
Tumblr media
Lu Jinghe: Mask? You mean the Lost Gold was not actually gold, but a Golden Mask?
Xia Yan cast a glance at our surroundings, checking that there weren't anyone else around before telling us the truth behind the Great Gold Robbery.
Xia Yan: This is how it actually is.
Xia Yan: There was something else that had been together with the gold that had been stolen that year sent by the Museum of Egypt―— The Gold Mask of Anubis.
Xia Yan: The location of the gold that Dong Hechuan gave the Police back then was really where all the gold had been hidden.
Xia Yan: The only reason why it was considered as two-tenths of the total gold was because they had also added the Golden Mask and the amount it was worth into the equation.
Mo Yi: No wonder the riddle was derived from the “Book of Death”. Now this explains it.
Before we could continue to analyze all the clues that we had gathered, a staff member came, asking us to board the Ferry by Base Camp.
We had no choice but to move our entire discussion up the Ferry.
Tell me more about Iza's world's hybrid lore, I beg of you 👀👀👀
Sure! I have answered this a long time ago but it was I think mostly about Iza and Zuo’s relation to the world here’s the link that: xxx And Iza speaking about a goddess he believed started it all: xxx
I think about what he says and I wouldn’t be surprised if he figured out that it was a Goddess who had cursed a human for being cruel to the animals that she watches over. It isn’t just cats and probably why cats were worshiped because the goddess did favor them more but not by much.
But hybrid lore... Well some interesting bits is supernatural creatures do exist, since if it’s taking place in the durarara universe and celty and saika exist then other supernatural creatures should exist as well. It kind of makes sense for Hybrids to exist in this type of world, especially because of organizations like Nebula.
- All hybrids, no matter their type have the innate ability to speak to their animal counter-parts. So a cat-hybrid can speak to cats, a dog-hybrid can speak to dogs, bird-hybrids can speak to birds. So on.
- All hybrids can be sensitive on their ears and tail or feathers or what have you and it’s etiquette/respectful to leave ears, tails, ect alone. Unless you are close to that specific hybrid or are the same type of hybrid then it goes based on what each hybrid says(normally same species-hybrids are more comfortable with other hybrids of that same species touching them on ears, tail, ect.). Of course in this story most of the hybrids are not exactly seen as human and more like wild animals that someone can pick up and take home and domesticate.
- All hybrids are keen on their true nature and their instincts. Some refuse to give into their instincts to become “more human” and others give into their instincts and accept what they are. The older they become the stronger their instincts are. It’s why many are seen as animals or barbaric to humans; to the humans in this universe it’s almost not natural to give into instincts and rely on senses so heavily because they have the intelligence and technology to not have to rely on those (even tho they literally have monkey brains LMFAO)
- If a hybrid is a predator type(Like a lion, wolf/carnivore) it’s more common for them to have killing instincts and desires. It can be reduced by hunting, but it has to be done safely so some do hunt mice and critters while others emulate hunting(like large animals) to curve their natural instincts to kill instead of finding like a gazelle or something to hunt.
- Depending on the hybrid it could be possible for same-sex species to have kits/pups but it really depends on genetics; this is really up in the air and so far no one knows how it works all they know is it can be possible but on that note, same-sex pairs are more accepted among hybrids because they understand that it’s natural to be attracted and instinctually desire a male or female. Generally accepted as well because sometimes opposite-sex pairs will abandon pups and kits and the same-sex pairs will care for the abandoned babies instead.
Over any universe, these stay true.
Dance of the Phoenix - Episode 3
Tumblr media
Okay, one last episode. Let’s get a glass of water, wash our face and apply a mask and let’s go. Okayyyyy! Now we are readyyy! Let’s gooo!
Last episode ended with Mu Yao trying to frame Feng Wu by letting Jun Linyuan believe she pushed her on the ground. That is so childish. I don’t think Jun Linyuan would actually buy this. But he doesn’t need to meddle, because our Feng Wu isn’t a lady who lets people bully her easily. So she uses her medicinal knowledge as a pretext to heal her, and she massages to hurt her on purpose. Because she doesn’t like the pain, Mu Yao promptly gets up. And runs away, angry at Feng Wu that her plan (stupid) didn’t work.
However, our prince isn’t too happy either with Fen Wu pranking Mu Yao and he scolds her that if she does something like that again, he’ll leave her alone in there. To gain his favour back, she decides to treat his wound, but doing so, it activates the loveless venom, which causes him to have pain in his chest and he moves away brutally from her. He gets away for a little and wonders why the venom acted up. When he went to Penglai, they couldn’t cure him from that because the only way to do so is through the tear of someone who loves him and would be willing to die for him.
Feng Xun is little down because he feels like everybody likes Jun Linyuan better. He never got any praise and is always in the shadow of his two friends. However, Feng Wu cheer him up. I really like Feng Xun, he’s such a sweet character. I just don’t hope for a love triangle for them, because it’s going to break my heart, because I will ship them. Like, I want her to end up with Jun Linyuan actually, but I would like for Feng Xun to have his happiness with her too. And you know what’s worse than second lead syndrome? It’s second lead syndrome while shipping the main couple together. BECAUSE YOU CAN’T EVEN BE SPITEFUL.
Jun Linyuan bumps into Yu Ming Ye and gives him a pill that will suppress his spiritual energy for twelve hours. They fight a little, but verbally and Jun Linyuan ends up hanging Yu Ming Ye for his minions to find him. He won’t let him find the fruit first. I know Yu Ming Ye is in the bad guys’ team, but I am feeling this character is going to be interesting. I hope my intuition is not wrong. Not long after that, Feng Wu comes over, looking for Jun Linyuan. Seeing Yu Ming Ye hanging, she decides to save him, but when he moves, she runs away. His vision is blurry, he couldn’t see her properly, but he thinks he saw a goddess. Well, not exactly a goddess. The actual translation for that is fairy, but not as in western tales fairies. This kind of fairy is for a very beautiful immortal human. Someone with a generous heart. When she comes back to sleep, she leaves a gourd next to Jun Linyuan, no idea what is in there. And he protects her from bugs when she sleeps. But... How are there any mosquitos in there? Like... it’s the frozen forest and it’s cold? Bug are strong over there.
The next day while they go on with their journey, they get separated when evil spirits attack  them. Feng Wu and Jun Linyuan quickly end up bumping into each other. That Feng Wu is really clumsy. She loses her balance and instead of just catching her, he catches her and rolls under her, falling with her. I feel that was unnecessary. Oh. That’s because they needed to add the accidental kiss while falling. Classic. Following that, to lighten the mood, she tries to make him talk, but he’s not really talkative and asks him questions about the celestial fruit. She’s wondering if it wouldn’t be a little mean to take it away from him while he saved her so many times.
Zuo Qingluan gets to a village which is harassed by a beast. The villagers say that a female cultivator came before, but she couldn’t manage to win over the beast. Zuo Qingluan wonders if it was Zhao Ge. I can’t wait to see who is that Zhao Ge.
Jun Linyuan decides that they should take a rest for the night as the fog is too dense, they’ll just get more lost by going on. Feng Wu is kind of scared by the spookiness of the forest and makes Jun Linyuan sing for her. But he’s a terrible singer, it sounds pretty awful. Well it was a good idea because the three others heard him and then will be able to find him, but still. Then, Feng Wu makes him stop singing, in case it calls out for the wolf. Well it does worse as a charm spirit comes into play. Jun Linyuan fights them to protect Feng Wu, but then he faints from watching in their eyes. Feng Wu is saved by her spiritual ring and the firecloud giant hawk gets into. It looked more like an illusion of it though. And right then the others find them. They set a camp for the night.
When Xiaowu is asleep, she hears a voice calling for her from the ring. She gets into the ring and tries to wake up her master, but because he gave her the rest of his phoenix blood, he can’t wake up. The firecloud hawk was actually sent by her master to protect the fruit. It’s now in the form of a parrot which has a very annoying voice. It explains to her the energy barrier is broken now and that she needs to get the fruit to regain her powers and after wake up her master to save the world. The parrot will help her get the fruit and tell what to do next.
At home, Feng Wu’s mom isn’t eating anymore. Qiu Ling tries to make her at least have a bite when somebody starts knocking at the door. She’s sure Feng Wu is back, but it’s actually people from the Feng family looking for Feng Wu. It looks like trouble is coming.
Both the darknight court people and our little friends get to the celestial fruit at the same time. And we will only know in episode 4 who will get the fruit.
This is consistent in being good so far. I’m glad I was recruited to translate this because otherwise I might have not watched this and that would have been a shame. I really enjoy this show. So beautiful. I’m looking forward next episode, tomorrow or the day after that, we’ll. For now, let’s just enjoy the ending theme. Good you all!
Latest batch of revelations!!!
Cai Wenji looks like a goddess. Her colors are gorgeous. Look how the color of the whip, that I’m not a fan of her having, matches her entire outfit. Also, not a fan of the hair, but whatever! She looks great! Ding Feng lost his extra hair and awesome circle blade but he still looks good. Wei Yan looks like a badass and that hair gives me life. Zuo Ci and Zhang Jiao look like weirdos…so…that’s nothing new.
@yumingye
Blinking back into consciousness, Feng Wu attempted to put the last of her memories back together again. The fight against Zuo Qingluan had gone as planned, or at least as planned as it could go. The red robes hid the worst of the injuries, for a moment Feng Wu idely considered if that was indeed the purpose of the colour red in battle - to hide blood.
‘That's my Phoenix Blood.’
The words rang through her mind, crystal clear, she had reached out and grabbed the other woman's wrist, gribbed it as she stared at the white band, red tracked through it and it sang to her. She knew what it was the moment she saw it. Like someone had snapped their fingers in her head, and then, that was where it had all fallen apart.
Her eyes focused on someone, oh, there he was.
Those big dark eyes staring at her, an expression that Wu couldn’t quite read, and yet, there was no startle, here was no panic, ,here was an odd calmness around him that she couldn’t explain. Instead of laying there, she pressed a palm to the floor under her, pushed herself up and gritted her teeth. Pushed through the pain so she could sit up. Pain and injury didn’t matter right now.
There’s silence, too much silence as she glanced around. The cliff under the moon was beautiful, and it offered privacy, but Feng Wu found herself hesitant. No. Lost for words.  What was she meant to say to him? That the Goddess of the Celestial Palace was responsible for all that had befallen her, and that the Holy Sovereign was a liar. That her public words, to the entire school, were outright lies. Fighting against it, and denying it publicly would do little for her cause. The damage had already been done.
Eyes glanced down, then to the side as she tried to find words, aware that the silence was starting to get heavy, and she absolutely had to find some way to break it.
“You believe me?” She asked, honestly if he didn’t...Feng Wu didn’t know what she would do. Her eyes watched him, searched his face, trying to find flickering hints of emotions that would offer some kind of insight into how he felt about the whole thing.  “Don’t you?” Yet, there was insecurity, uneasiness...not with him, but with the situation at hand. For the first time, she felt defeated despite the fact that she had won. It felt like like everyone was against her, like the world had pivoted on itself and she was the target of its ire.
The expression on her face fell, “they all just wanted to see me fall, and then I handed them it,” won or lose, public humiliation was a loss far greater than a lost fight.
*by a biased and unreliable narrator.
Part One - The Youngsters**
**I have no idea how old these guys are supposed to be, but I’m guessing late teens/very early 20’s.
Feng Wu
Tumblr media
Genius of the Capital. Possesses Phoenix Blood. Quickly has her Phoenix Blood stolen and then is killed by her rival within the first 5 minutes of episode 1.
Feng Wu #2
Tumblr media
The protagonist. Is but isn’t Feng Wu. (I know - try not to think too deeply about it). Trickster. Determined, intelligent, kind and insightful. Has a cool fiery sword. Talented medic and brilliant cook. Gets possessed by Phoenix Blood whenever her life is in imminent danger. Everybody loves her except those who don’t.
Jun Linyuan
Tumblr media
Male lead. Feng Wu’s love interest. Rarely smiles. Uptight like there’s a stick up his arse. Crown Prince of Junwu. Tends to use his status to get what he wants. Powerful cultivator. Has a minor myocardial infarction every time he has emotions due to eating poison as a kid. Funny bone appears to be broken. Gets the girl. Kind of a douchebag. Similar to MDZS’s Lan Wangji but minus the likeability. My friend refers to him as the Grinch. Is supposed to be in his late teens but actually looks like he’s 30 with a wife, two kids, and a mortgage.
Yu Mingye
Tumblr media
Heir to the Darknight Court. Powerful cultivator, and Jun Linyuan’s rival in power and love. No one likes him, despite the fact that he’s actually a giant sweetheart underneath the villainous goth exterior. He’s in love with Feng Wu but boy is that a disaster. Terrible at flirting. Extremely gullible. Never enters via the door. Sucks at being stealthy. His father made him kill his best friend as a child. All he has left of his mother is her flute. Used and abused by his father and the protagonists. Loses everything, including an arm. Desperately needs hugs. Very attractive.
Zuo Qingluan
Tumblr media
Feng Wu’s rival, main antagonist. Steals Feng Wu #1’s Phoenix Blood and then kills her. Would’ve been a nice person had her master not taught her she has to be the best otherwise she has no worth. Wants to marry Jun Linyuan for the power. Loves winning. Besties with Queen Sheng. An ice person (pun, not a typo). Loves her junior sisters, especially Zhao Ge. Bitch in sheep’s clothing. Goes mad with envy. Turns to the Dark Side. Has the title of “Goddess”, so like, pretentious much?
Feng Xun
Tumblr media
One of Jun Linyuan’s two best friends. Endearing idiot. Actually really nice. Never stops talking, even when he should. Thinks he’s a Casanova but comes across as more of a Pepé le Pew. Snarky. Loves food, especially Feng Wu’s cooking. His mum makes his pyjamas. Wields a fan sharp enough to slit a throat and makes it look awesome, even if it’s main use is fanning lanterns so Jun Linyuan can impress Feng Wu. No relation to Feng Wu despite same surname. Was in love with Feng Wu as a child
Xuan Yi
Tumblr media
Jun Linyuan’s other best friend. Grandson of Master Fang of Junwu Academy. Major bookworm. Comes across as serious and disapproving, but is actually just shy. Awkward around girls he likes. Hilarious when drunk. The smart one of the group. Falls in love with Zhao Ge but it takes him forever to voice even the slightest feeling for her. Makes an awesome battle couple with Zhao Ge in the finale. Dies but then doesn’t.
Zhao Ge
Tumblr media
Feng Wu’s best friend. Daughter of the Celestial Palace’s Master but is exiled for being embarrassingly useless with cultivation. Beloved by Zuo Qingluan. Was fat but then was miraculously made slim overnight by a magic flower. Is terribly shy and timid, but very sweet and a loyal friend. Wields a slingshot and is awesome with it. Becomes better at cultivation with Xuan Yi’s help. Awful cook. Falls in love with Xuan Yi and actually makes the first move. Dies but then doesn’t. Can speak wolf, apparently.
Mu Yao
Tumblr media
Alpha bitch of the Celestial Palace. Idolises Zuo Qingluan. Bullies Zhao Ge. Hates Feng Wu. She’s the captain of the Jun Linyuan/Zuo Qingluan ship. Starts to have some character development and then promptly dies.
Huang Li
Tumblr media
Starts off as secondary alpha bitch in Zuo Qingluan’s gang, but goes through some major character development after apologising to Feng Wu for accusing her of murder. Takes a level in badass. Breaks the good guys out of jail. Rallies her peers to join Feng Wu. Leads part of the fight during the Battle for Junwu. Has a cute crush on Yu Mingye. Yu Mingye is painfully oblivious to this.
Part Two: The Adults (and a magic bird)
