How foolish of us for trying
to escape the changes of life.
I wonder if a flower tries to resist
as the universe pulls its existence
from within the seed to the bud
and then petal by petal,
bringing it back
into the
one.
Maybe it just says, with all
the silence of its being,
thank you.
Well, it didn't matter. He'd had enough. He wasn't going to try to understand anything anymore. He was going home.
Except that wizards can never go home.
This is one of the ancient and deeply meaningful sayings about wizards and it says something about most of them that they have never been able to work out what it means. Wizards aren't allowed to have wives but they are allowed to have parents, and many of them go back to the old home town for Hogswatch Night or Soul Cake Thursday, for a bit of a sing-song and the heart-warming sight of all their boyhood bullies hurriedly avoiding them in the street.
It's rather like the other saying they've never been able to understand, which is that you can't cross the same river twice. Experiments with a long-legged wizard and a small river say you can cross the same river thirty, thirty-five times a minute.
Wizards don't like philosophy very much. As far as they are concerned, one hand clapping makes a noise like "cl."
I did about ten variations of this particular drawing a few years back. I was thinking about life's journey. About the mystery of unknown destinations. About going home.

The ground is full of broken stones, the last leaf has fallen.
I have no where to turn now, Northeast northwest north or south.
[ID: Instrumental song that starts as a melodic, amble waltz with light bells and an old piano, soft strings as a bass.
As the song progresses, the melody begins to distort and get choppier, white noise builds in the background.
As the song reaches its climax, it reverses and glitches outward, before fading to noise and a bitcrushed ominous melody. /End ID]

I want to write a character with chronic pain but don't know how, help!
Ok, so, admittedly, this is a small character with very little role in the actual series, but he is major in the backstory, and I still want to develop him fully. Yoru Sato, that is. I realized literally just now that, with the literal magical mutilation of his body, chronic pain would make more than a little sense as a side effect. The only problem is, I don't know what chronic pain is like, and therefore have no clue how to represent. All I really need to know is what things I should avoid, along with common misconceptions and fixes for them. Thank you in advance!! ^^
