Summary:
Part 2 - Sanzo, who is desperately reciting sutras, is ensnared by demonic spider threads one after another, and finally Ganjigarame. After saying that they would roast and eat him, the women went out to eat. Realizing the emergency, Goku summons the earth god and learns that the women are old spider spirits. Goku disguises himself as a hawk and steals the women's kimono, and uses this opportunity to rescue Sanzo, and after a long battle with the female monsters who have returned, he dispatches the four female monsters. Before they could feel relieved, the Taoist priest who begged for a place to stay was Hyakuganma, the female monster's older brother. The three of them except Goku collapse from the poisoned drink, but with Kannon's help, Goku defeats the centipede spirit.
However, with the news of the three female monsters who escaped, Sanzo is ambushed by the brothers Golden Horn and Silver Horn, the owners of Renge Cave. Following Hakkai, who went on a reconnaissance mission, Sanzo and Sagojyo also fell into enemy hands. Goku, who was attacked by Silver Horn, is helped by the hands of Venerable Egishi, and goes to Renge Cave after hitting Angataten. The opponents approach with a Basho fan that can blow away mountains with a single stir, a gourd that swallows people, and a hooded rope that binds people alone, but Goku fights like a lion and finally defeats Golden Horn, Silver Horn, and other fox monsters and saves them all. Sanzo and his friends aim for Tenjiku in high spirits. What will await us before that...?

The Magic Unicorn
The personal fork was invented by the Byzantines. Then our teeth changed. We developed the overbite. We bite off more than we can chew. This is a prose poem about the golden horn of Turkey. Also Byzantines. But really unicorns.
The unicorn is magic. I dreamed of unicorns in Istanbul. It is very ancient.
Here is a prose poem about the unicorn. From my manuscript in progress: Dream Dust.

Exploring The Gleaming Majesty
Unveiling The Secrets Of Golden Horn Istanbul
The Golden Horn Istanbul is an iconic waterway located in Istanbul, Turkey. Spanning 8.5 miles and forming the shape of an inverted crescent, the Horn is the entrance to the Bosporus and the Sea of Marmara, and is a vital part of both the city’s history and its economy. It is one of the world’s great natural harbors and has been a major port and strategic center since the Byzantine era.

to add to the argument that the nine-tailed fox is not the biological mother, she and her brother are not strong, and I think it is implied that the brother was quite weak when compared to other demon kings (There are too many demon kings, so he was probably among the last or definitely not among the best or strongest). So we follow Redboy's example with his family, his parents are strong, he is strong. The nine-tailed fox seems to enjoy a certain respect for her servants. They are stronger than the average Minions but she and especially her brother are killed quite easily. Furthermore, the nine-tailed fox may never have been a heavenly fox. Her death could be in the book of Yama, already predestined. If she were the biological mother, she would have to be strong, but she is not. I don't know how much things would have changed if she had realized that Wukong was attacking her by surprise. And she ate humans, so she possibly didn't receive training from any immortal teacher either.
It seems to me that the most likely thing is that she saw that Golden and silver Hornerd Kings were strong, and since she had no children nor did her brother either, that's why she adopted them willingly (following the pattern that demon kings adopt other demons).

That is true that we see there are huge power differences when it comes to adopted children and their adopted parents. In most cases either the children are weaker (like with the Nine Spirit Lion) or that the children fight because their parents cannot (such as with the Spider Sisters) and the Horn Brothers being stronger than their mother and uncle could show that they were adopted to be their protection both in status and power.
Red Boy has by far some of the strongest demons in the journey to be his parents, both natural talent and perhaps great training leading to his own strength no doubt.
They are stronger than the average Minions but she and especially her brother are killed quite easily.
Nine Tails and the Seven Fox King could have been strong in their own right but against Wukong, there is hardly a fair fight. We have to remember that not all demon kings were powerful, esp to Wukong. The Demon King of Havoc was killed a single blow and the King of the Southern Kill knew he couldn't win against Wukong and thus had to hide until he was also killed in a single blow. These demons are kings and are strong as their status shows but just faced someone so far out of their league.
Furthermore, the nine-tailed fox may never have been a heavenly fox. Her death could be in the book of Yama, already predestined.
It was clear that the Nine Tails wasn't from Heaven, esp someone from Heaven who would have vouched for her and presented her death. Or at least there would have been an acknowledgment of her escape from heaven. We see this happen with the Scorpin Queen who was a bug in Buddha's garden that escaped. But because she was more of a pest and not a pet, she was still killed because she had no owner, but this backstory was still told to explain her strength and origins.
The Nine Tails never received such a backstory so we can assume that she is an earth-demon that worked for thousands of years for her cultivation. I'm not sure if her name being in the book would matter or not as that is the case for most people but if even if she was from heaven, there should have been something said about it.
If she were the biological mother, she would have to be strong, but she is not. I don't know how much things would have changed if she had realized that Wukong was attacking her by surprise. And she ate humans, so she possibly didn't receive training from any immortal teacher either.
I can say that even if we did not see her fight we can't determine her strength just on a surprise attack. Like other demons that Wukong has fought, battle is a lot more about opportunity and cunning than it is about full-blown strength. We see that a LOT with demons that Wukong fights even Golden Horn and Silver Horn are actually weak compared to Wukong and thus need to rely so heavenly on their magic items to trap him. Most of the demons that Wukong fights are actually SUPER WEAK (ei compared to Wukong) because they die with one blow, but just LANDING the blow is the hardest part. A lot of these demons run, hide, use traps, tricks, have a single good offense move, or they are saved by the heavens.
Maybe she was strong. Maybe she was powerful and full of spells that she could have used. But considering that Wukong was able to catch her off guard and then lull her into a false sense of security would be her downfall. I would bet she wasn't properly trained but if she was cultivated enough to have nine tails then she would still be quite powerful in her own right that we never got to see because she was not the main villain of this arc. She was a human-eating demon and thus is given no other backstory.
It seems to me that the most likely thing is that she saw that Golden and silver Hornerd Kings were strong, and since she had no children nor did her brother either, that's why she adopted them willingly (following the pattern that demon kings adopt other demons).
I do think that when Silver Horn and Golden Horn came down to earth for their first time she was the one to take them in and manage them at least. Hard to say if she was teaching them how to be proper demon king or not but we can assume it was a similar relationship with White Deer and his daughter White Fox Face where they would work together to achieve their goals. There is not doubt that Golden Horn and Silvern Horn still respected her and looked up to her so I think that there must have been still guidance and mentorship she provided the brothers though I can only speculate what they learned from her care.
