☁️ THE PROJECT #1
summary ⎯ a biology project; that's all it is intended to be, a matter of communication amongst classmates in order to succeed yet the more time chris and aluna spend together, the harder it becomes to distinguish the line between requirement and want. they are required to work together, to spend time with one another and to exist beside one another until suddenly it doesn't feel forced. what is supposed to be simply completing a project turns into an unmistakable connection of hearts.
part 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6,
warnings ⎯ chris x fem!poc!oc, cursing, fluff, grumpy!oc and sunshine!chris, eventual smut, not proofread, mentions of anxiety, toxic homelife, mentions of selfharm, angst, hurt and comfort, etc.
A/N ⎯ another series baby! i know i said it would be one long fic but i wanted to get some writing out soon. i've written a few parts so i'll post them all rn but there's more to come eventually!!
i hope you enjoy <3

there's a saying that claims there's always light at the end of a dark tunnel. aluna used to believe in it when she was a little girl, sneaking onto her rooftop and wishing on the shooting stars for it to become a reality. as she grew older, she realised there wasn't actually a light and the illumination she craved was merely that, a craving that the universe was refusing to fulfil. the wishful thinking soon turned to detest and she learned to despise the idea of something or someone pulling her out of the god-forsaken pit she had fallen into as a mere child.
so now, she stuck to herself. she could not find the light in others if there were no others. it was simply her against the world and every little thing inside of it. people did not recognise the name aluna nor care to try. she walked the hallways alone with her head low, never attended any school games or functions and stuck to the back of the class as best as she could. the very few times she had been partnered with someone to work with, she managed to get herself out of it and the individual was granted a new partner, thus allowing her to work alone. the way she preferred.
yet here she stood, a pleading expression capturing her features as she tried to convince her teacher to work alone for what felt like the millionth time that year. a brief sigh escaped her lips at the sympathetic refusal, something along the lines of the project showcasing an element of communication that was apparently required for the final grade.
"i'm sorry miss sanchez, i normally make exceptions for you but this is one time i can't. i'm afraid you'll be assigned a partner just like everyone else," her teacher's smile was supposed to be reassuring but it just made her heart feel heavier than it already did.
aluna dejectedly made her way to her seat, all the way at the back, and waited around for the rest of her class to arrive. she observed the way she always tended to as each individual walked in, some alone and others accompanied by people. her eyes landed on all she could including the set of triplets that she had always felt a little taken aback at, no matter how many times she saw them. they were laughing, they often were if they were not bickering, and the one she had identified as chris rolled his eyes at nick but it was paired with a fond and unavoidable glimmer.
"okay we're all here, excellent! i know you've all been awake late at night excited for this moment, that's right, it's time to assign partners. remember, absolutely no switching and i have a zero-tolerance policy for lack of teamwork. i want both of you working on the project and putting your all into this. the project as you may recall counts towards your final grade," mrs david rambled, an eager grin on her face that aluna could seem to understand for even a moment.
aluna didn't pay attention to her teacher again until she started assigning the partners and she stumbled across her name, "so miss sanchez and mr sturniolo, chris that is."
aluna pressed her eyes shut for a minimal second before she opened them, meeting chris' gaze across the classroom and trying her hardest to return the bright smile he offered her. then, her eyes dropped to the desk in front of her, shutting the world out until she heard the scraping of chairs and realised everyone was either sitting with their partners or making their way.
chris approached her with a smile, too large of a smile for her and she groaned internally before picking up her bag from the seat beside her and dropping it to the floor. he situated himself in the now vacant seat instantly and turned to her as he ran his dainty fingers through his mess of brown hair atop his head.
"aluna right?" he asked her easily and she nodded her head in response, not finding it within herself to verbally reply.
"so i think she said our focus was on DNA and RNA, shouldn't be that bad," he shrugged, ignoring her lack of enthusiasm without so much as a slight shift in his demeanour.
"mhm," aluna hummed softly, mentally cursing herself.
she wanted to respond like a normal fucking person, to engage in the conversation and appear as though she wasn't a complete and utter loser but she was already struggling. she genuinely didn't remember the last time she put effort into another person. she had always been closed off and speaking to others was just not her forte, if anything it was quite the opposite. normality for her was her own company, not having to make small talk with people when it was obvious they had very little to nothing in common.
"so would you like to work on the project at my place or yours? i don't mind either way but if it as my place, just know my brothers will probably be annoying as fuck," he laughed as he glanced at his brothers yet aluna didn't so much as laugh for the sake of courtesy.
even with her silence, chris' smile didn't seem to falter. if she was being completely honest, she didn't know how to feel about this joyous persona. it was too much happiness for her all at once and he wasn't even put off by the way she was giving him practically nothing.
she did however agree with one thing and felt the need to voice it, "your place works."
the very last thing she wanted was for someone to come to her house, school project or not. she had never had anyone come over, too afraid of what they may think of her based on what they see. it was easier this way, giving them nothing to work with so they were not disappointed or alarmed.
"can i get your number?" he pulled out his phone as though he didn't just ask what he did, as though it was normal and she raised her brows at him.
"what did you just say?" she questioned, a sudden sense of unease swarming through her at his words in a way she knew wasn't healthy but was too far gone to bother caring about.
he shook his head with a laugh, "your number, for the project, you know?"
oh. right. that made a lot more sense. she nodded her head and he handed her his phone so that she could enter the number. she saved it with her full name and he furrowed his brows a little.
"are you always this formal?" it was meant to be lighthearted but something inside of aluna snapped and she rolled her eyes at him.
"you asked for my number and i gave it," she deadpanned and he raised his hands in surrender, a curious look taking over that made her skin crawl.
she felt like she was being scrutinised and she hated it. she felt too involved in something and it had barely been a few minutes. she knew it sounded ridiculous but she just could not help it. she shot her eyes to the ground, picking at her nails to surpress her discomfort.
"you shouldn't do that," he placed his hand atop hers and moved it away from its prior spot, making her jump and remove her hand from his sharply.
"don't fucking touch me," she said with a glare without meaning to and he widened his eyes at the tone, making her sigh inaudibly.
"shit i'm sorry, i wasn't even thinking. i didn't mean to make you uncomfortable i-" he stopped himself from going on, looking to the floor to save himself from the awkwardness.
and here she went again, ruining something else. stopping illumination before it became too bright for her to maintain. she didn't apologise for her tone even though she wanted to, the apology sat on her tongue but it tasted bitter. it reminded her of the countless, meaningless apologies she had received in the past and it made her tongue almost burn strangely. here was this boy who was trying to make her feel normal and treat her like a friend but all she was doing was shutting him out. she was closing the curtains to the point even the smallest bit of light couldn't seep through the gaps.
she looked around the classroom, watching as others conversed with their partners easily, without the fear of things going wrong before they had even begun. she turned to chris, the boy scrolling through his phone with an unreadable expression across his face. she did that to him. and she didn't even have it in herself to fix it. she instead waited as the seconds on the clock ticked by and turned into minutes before the period was at last over and she didn't have that repeated pounding in her head.
"i'll text you my address, does tomorrow work for you?" chris' voice came out of nowhere and she had to mask the surprise she felt, replacing it with a small nod of her head before rushing out of the classroom.
stay in the dark, don't let the light in.
it was almost a mantra, her life moto now and she sighed at the thoughts circling her head. she walked to the next period with a heavy head and a discomforting sensation tingling through her nerves. she had no fucking clue how she was going to survive an entire project with him.

The Archer | Bob Floyd x Reader
Tumblr media
word count: 1159
warnings: arguing, insecurities.
song pairing: The Archer - Taylor Swift
notes: Hey y'all! Here is another Bob one-shot. All of my one-shots can be read together as they coincide, but you can also read them as stand-alone. Hope you enjoy and please don't forget to like and reblog! Also, let me know which other TGM boys you'd like me to write about (my requests are always open).
Combat, I'm ready for combat
I say I don't want that, but what if I do?
It's been 4 months since Bob and Nat had deployed. The first 2 months were the hardest with getting adjusted to the time difference but now you’ve managed a sort of schedule. Bob was supposed to call in 5 minutes so you ran to the bathroom and fixed your hair. Even though it was almost midnight you wanted to look good for him since it was your anniversary.
You waited patiently for his call but it didn’t come. It wasn't the first time he didn’t call but it was the first time he didn’t text. You tried sleeping but worry filled your mind that Bob was hurt. Around 2AM you finally dozed off.
On your way to work your phone pinged with a text from Bob. As you put your car in park you unlocked the phone and read the text. “Hey, sorry I didn’t call. We got the morning off and I went to town with the guys and forgot to charge my phone. Talk later. Love you” it read.
You closed your eyes as you felt yourself getting upset. Bob never had forgotten to charge his phone in the year you’ve been together and he didn’t even mention your anniversary. He even mentioned your anniversary gift being on the way 2 days ago.
I never grew up, it's getting so old
Help me hold onto you
Turning off your phone you chucked it in the glove compartment and headed inside the academy. You opted for not replying to Bob’s text as you didn’t want to let anger get the best of you.
It was evident you were upset as you flew quickly through the exercise. Leaving your wingman behind which you never did.
“Everything okay, Peach?” asked Maverick as you headed towards the break room.
You looked back at him and replied “just peachy” as you headed out to your car. Pulling out your phone you noticed 2 missed calls from Bob and 3 new messages.
“I’m sorry for not calling you baby. It really slipped my mind to charge my phone. Please don’t be upset.”
“Peach, please call me tonight. I love and miss you”
“I’m so sorry. I didn’t realize the date. Happy belated anniversary darlin’. Please forgive me”
You wanted to forgive him but you couldn’t push your anger aside. It truly wasn’t anger, you were just hurt but you would never admit it.
Who could ever leave me, darling?
But who could stay?
He knew you were struggling with him being gone. Your anxiety getting the best of you. Plus it didn’t help that his wingman was so gorgeous and she seemed too friendly according to Nat. You knew he would never cheat but your brain couldn’t understand.
You decided you’d tell him that he hurt your feelings but you wouldn’t make a big deal when he called. That was until you saw Cobra, his new wingman tagged him on a photo. His arm around her shoulder as she laughed. Granted it was a group photo but he knew how you felt about her.
Dark side, I search for your dark side
But what if I'm alright, right, right, right here?
As his face came to view on your phone you couldn’t help the scowl on your face. “Hey sweetheart!” he said, his smile faltering off when he saw your expression. “What’s wrong, Peach?”
“Why don’t you ask Cobra?” you replied. Watching as his shoulders sagged.
“Peach, I can explain.”
“Really, Bob? Because to me it seems you’d rather spend time with her than me on our anniversary”
“Don’t do this Peach. She’s just a coworker. I’m sorry about last night. I lost track of time. I don’t want to fight Peach.”
The exasperation in his voice was evident which only angered you more. You sighed in response. He’d never done anything to upset you. This was your first argument and you didn’t want to blow up the relationship due to your own insecurities from past relationships.
“Look Bob, it really upset me.” you say pacing your bedroom floor. “I thought you were hurt because you never not call or text.” he nodded, agreeing. “Plus you spending our anniversary that you seemingly forgot with someone I don’t like really doesn’t help.” sitting down you finish your rant with “I don’t want to fight either but do you see where I’m coming from?” as Bob continued to nod quietly.
“I understand, Peach. I’m sorry. I’m going to make it up to you, I promise and I’m not going to hang around Cobra again.” he said, his blue eyes reflecting how apologetic he was. “Thank you, I’m sorry for getting so angry.” you sigh. “It’s alright darling, I’m sorry I upset you. I do have to go since training starts in 5 minutes but keep an eye on your mailbox.”
“I will, I love you Robby”
“I love you more, Peach”
I wake in the night, I pace like a ghost
The room is on fire, invisible smoke
And all of my heroes die all alone
Help me hold onto you
The call ends and you lay down, quickly falling asleep only to wake up what feels like moments later from a nightmare. You pace around your bedroom as Bob and Cobra kissing replays in your mind while you tell yourself it was just a nightmare. You take off your locket and look at the picture of you and Bob inside.
Can you see right through me?
They see right through
They see right through me
I see right through me
You wonder if he could see through the anger. Hoping he didn’t think you were crazy for getting so worked up. He didn’t know that your ex boyfriend cheated on you.
'Cause all of my enemies started out friends
Help me hold onto you
With no one other than your best friend.
The knock on the door woke you up. When you looked out of the peephole you didn’t see anyone though. You opened the door to see if it was the mailman and you were right. A bouquet of roses was at your doorstep. Yellow roses, your favorite.
Who could stay?
You could stay
Opening the card that came with the roses you instantly knew it was from Bob. His penmanship was impeccable. “I love you, thinking of you today and every day. Soon we’ll be together but for now, take these roses as a token of my love. Happy anniversary baby. Yours, Bob”
A few tears escaped your eyes as you put the note down. Bob wasn’t your ex-boyfriend, you could trust him. He didn’t mean to hurt you. Plus who could stay mad after that sappy note?
You shot him a thank you text and got ready for the day. Content with the knowledge that Bob loved you as much as you loved him.

Five Nights at Freddy's: Salvaged, Night 4: You're Not Alone
Tumblr media
''And I can't give you back the things you had, but you don't have to do this on your own. Even if you're never coming home, you're not alone, you're not alone… You're not alone!''
– The Puppet Song by TryHardNinja ft. SailorUrLove (Five Nights at Freddy's 3)
xXxXxXx
Springtrap had expected that the back door to Freddy's would be locked, but to his and Sam's surprise, it was unlocked. Hadn't anyone decided to check on the place or did they just forget to lock it? Granted, it had been unlocked when he kidnapped Sam, but someone would think they would put a little more thought into security. On the other hand, this was Fazbear Entertainment, who, as long as they could cover it up, didn't really care.
And I'm supposed to be the bad guy in this story.
In hindsight, though, this whole mess wouldn't have started if it weren't for him. However, he didn't doubt that, even if he hadn't killed anyone, that Fazbear Entertainment would still seek excuses and would cover up whatever incident occurs in this place. To make it worse, there would always be people who would take advantage of family friendly restaurants like Freddy's and cause their own kind of chaos. He guessed that the only reason he was the main attraction of this story was because he somehow found a way to let the animatronics become haunted and even created murderous robots of his own. That, and the fact that he just wouldn't stay dead.
He watched as Sam opened the door, contemplating whether to use her flashlight, as she feared that someone might see the light. Instead, she put it back into the bag she was carrying and pulled out her phone, whose screen light was much weaker.
''What are we even searching for?'' Springtrap asked her as he closed the door behind them.
''I'm not sure,'' Sam replied, shrugging. ''Although, it doesn't seem like it will take much time to comb through this place.''
They entered the main area, where the stage was. It was still empty, with no robots in sight, the only thing there being tables and chairs, as well as one or the other box with party hats and decorations inside them. Instead of going inside, Sam went straight towards the office with the cameras, turning them on and switching through them.
''It is still not recording anything,'' she told Springtrap, who was peeking inside the small office.
''I think someone was going by the logic that, if there's nothing to steal, there's no need for security,'' Springtrap said. ''People who like to break in for fun, on the other hand…''
''Weren't you the co-creator and therefore co-owner of Freddy's? You may be dead, but this is still your legacy,'' Sam replied, smiling slyly. ''Therefore, I'm not breaking in as much as entering with the former owner's permission.''
''Smartass,'' Springtrap muttered, although sounding a little impressed. Sam turned the cameras off, with Springtrap following her to what seemed to be the manager's office. Springtrap figured that it would be empty just as the rest of the building, but Sam opened the drawers, searching for something.
''Bingo!'' she said as she pulled out a paper, which seemed to be carelessly thrown into the drawer, along with a shredded flyer for Ricky's Wonder Shack. She smoothed the paper, showing it to Springtrap, who read what appeared to be some kind of notification.
''I guess that explains why this place isn't open yet,'' he said. The notification was about the delivery of the animatronics being suspended due to technical difficulties the manufacturers had been experiencing. Since the animatronics were the main attraction, they wouldn't open the location until they were completely sure everything was running smoothly.
''I wonder what they meant when they talked about 'technical difficulties','' Sam said, putting the paper back the way she found it after taking a picture of it with her smartphone.
''Who knows,'' Springtrap said, shrugging. ''Maybe they were attempting to copy what Henry and I had done with the animatronics, but were unable to do it.''
The two walked out, examining the rest of the building, but hadn't found anything. They returned back to the main area, with Sam walking over the empty stage and looking at it, seemingly lost in her thoughts. Springtrap walked over to her, but stopped, realizing that maybe he should leave her alone with whatever thoughts she had.
''You know…'' He lift his head when he heard Sam addressing him. ''I still can't believe that all what happened was real. It still feels like it was just a video game.''
''What makes you say that?'' Springtrap asked. Sam continued without turning to him.
''I tend to explore urban legends that are supposedly based on real stories. I want to know whether what had been described in those creepy stories really happened or not, or whether it was possible for it to really happen. Mostly, they were just that – stories. They were simply pure fiction someone came up with and then spread like wildfire,'' Sam explained, then turned to Springtrap. ''Freddy's… isn't.'' She pointed at the stage. ''That stuff – ghosts, haunted animatronics, a long history of murders and cover-ups – that isn't supposed to happen. That isn't supposed to be real. This isn't supposed to be real.'' She pointed at Springtrap. ''You aren't supposed to be here either, yet you are.''
She calmed down a little when she saw Springtrap's head lowering.
''I know that,'' he said. Sam crossed her arms, looking at him, with Springtrap feeling unnerved by her glare. She was still judging him, pushing for answers. He could tell that she wanted to know more and he was the only one who could provide her with those answers. He was a little impressed by her curiosity and what she was willing to do to gain the answers she wanted. Even though she already told him she knew what he did and was aware of his past, he still had the strange feeling that there was more to it.
''I guess that's all,'' Sam muttered, looking around the room.
''There's still a hidden room if you want to see it. That's where I woke up,'' Springtrap told her, pointing at a hallway near the stage. ''This way, although, it was empty when I was there.''
Sam still followed him, illuminating the hallway with her phone. As they reached the hidden door, she froze, with Springtrap realizing a second later what made her stop.
''What's this?'' she asked, crouching down as she examined what appeared to be red and black stains on the floor, looking like ink. Her eyes widened as she looked at the door, with Springtrap already trying to open it, having come to the same conclusion.
After opening the door, they were met with a gruesome sight. There was another smear of the same ink-like substance on the floor, as if someone had been dragged across it, with a figure sitting in the corner, slumped over like a drunk person. Springtrap's eyes flared purple, while Sam grabbed her flashlight and pointed, her hand shaking, at the figure. She covered her mouth in shock as she saw the dead man, unable to scream. Springtrap had already walked over to the man, avoiding the blood on the floor, and examined him. He was indeed dead, probably for hours. He looked back at Sam, who was rather pale. She may have known what to expect, but it didn't mean that she would react well to something like this.
''Sam, are you okay? Do you want to sit down or-?'' He got cut off when Sam shook her head. She was still shaking, sensing a scent of copper when she slowly walked over to the body. The fact that the man's glassy eyes were open wide in terror didn't make the situation less creepy. She shuddered as she looked at him, with Springtrap readying himself to catch her if she fell over. He wasn't sure how well she could handle this situation and was worried that, in the worst case scenario, she would faint and hit her head.
''He's…'' Sam gulped. ''He's really dead…'' She looked at Springtrap, who simply nodded. She shivered. ''I should've thought about it… That I would start seeing dead bodies eventually.'' She stepped closer, her eyes widening when she realized something. ''Springtrap, this guy…'' She looked back at him. ''The uniform he wears… That's the kind of uniform the security guards at Ricky's Wonder Shack wear.''
''Are you sure?'' Springtrap looked at her in surprise. She nodded firmly.
''Yeah, dark blue shirts with golden collars and cuffs. I saw them several times, there's no mistake,'' she said, shaking her head. ''What is a security guard from Ricky's doing at a Freddy's location? Was he killed here?''
Springtrap looked at the man, noticing a stab wound on his chest and then at the rest of the room.
''No way,'' he said, glancing back at Sam. ''He wasn't killed here, as there is not enough blood. Someone killed him and brought him here.''
''Why would anyone do something like that?'' Sam asked.
''Search me,'' Springtrap said as he stood up. ''We should leave.''
Sam nodded, looking a little relieved when they left. Springtrap closed the door, looking back at Sam, who seemed to be a little distant.
''Are you sure that you're okay?'' he asked.
''I can handle it,'' she replied. ''However, we have a different kind of problem.''
''One that I'm, surprisingly, not responsible for,'' Springtrap said as they entered the main area, going towards the back exit, and briefly glancing back at the hidden room.
''The only thing I can think about is to call the cops and report this,'' Sam said, phone already in her hand. She got startled when Springtrap stepped in front of her.
''If you do that, they will wonder what you were doing here and even probably think that you're connected to this crime,'' he told her, his eyes flaring purple. However, he sounded worried.
''I know that, but the person who killed him is still around,'' Sam replied, albeit lowering her phone. She looked around, as if fearing that the murderer would jump out of a dark corner. ''Something needs to be done.''
''You can count on me,'' Springtrap told her in an assuring tone. He actually really meant it, as he had decided to earn her trust. However, he noticed the hesitant look on her expression, knowing well she wasn't quite ready to completely trust him. He understood that and he didn't press the issue, as he knew that that action would make the situation only worse.
They quickly got outside, with Sam making sure that nobody saw them, but the streets had been empty, as this wasn't really a busy part of the town. Even the nearby buildings had been empty, featuring ''For rent'' signs.
Springtrap noticed that Sam had been rather quiet as they went back to her home, wondering whether he should ask her again whether she was okay. However, he didn't have to.
''I really hate the idea of leaving him behind,'' she said.
''There's nothing you can do to help him,'' Springtrap told her. She looked back at him, this time frowning.
''What is going to happen now?''
''Probably the same you had already read in that video game of yours,'' Springtrap replied. ''Fazbear Entertainment will clean the premises and, while make sure that there is a missing person report, they will also make sure that there will be as little investigation as possible or impossible to connect it back to the company.''
''They still won't be able to get rid off the skeletons in their closet,'' Sam said, still seeing the slumped corpse in front of her. ''Who killed him? Why? Where did the crime take place? Why was he even left at Freddy's?''
Springtrap had a rather unsettling feeling that the past was repeating. Even though it was quite obvious and he even joked about not being responsible for this murder, he was still wondering why Sam wasn't accusing him for being connected to this. After all, anything that happened at Freddy's could be traced back to him, whether directly or indirectly.
But, I didn't murder this guy.
''We'll see about that. It's only a matter of time until you start killing again.'' Suddenly, he heard the voice from his last hallucination, speaking clearly to him. He shook his head as the world around him started to turn black...
''Springtrap!'' The animatronic was startled by Sam's voice, who looked worried. ''Are you having another of your hallucinations?''
''I- I don't think so,'' he replied, but he wasn't completely sure. He was grateful that it stopped before anything could happen.
''I saw you on the floor earlier this day,'' Sam said, giving him a sympathetic look. ''You had been sitting, muttering to yourself or talking to someone. I didn't want to approach you, though.''
''I found the blanket,'' Springtrap muttered, feeling a headache as the memories of the hallucination returned.
''You kind of fell over, looking like you were sleeping,'' Sam said, giving him a wry smile. ''I figured I shouldn't disturb you.''
''I think it was a good idea,'' Springtrap replied. ''Don't take this wrong, but I could've accidentally lashed out at you if you tried to approach me, even if I wasn't aware of it.''
''You're really afraid of hurting me,'' Sam said, with Springtrap realizing how it wasn't a question. He didn't respond. Sam then sighed. ''To be honest, I'm really not sure if I want to be part of this.''
''You don't have to,'' Springtrap replied. ''You told me I had a choice when I decided to come along with you and I believe that you also can choose whether to be part of this horror story or not.''
''I guess you're not the only one who had been given a five nights deadline to make a final decision,'' Sam said, then falling silent. They continued walking in a rather uncomfortable silence, with Springtrap deciding to change the topic.
''So, what do you do when you don't investigate urban legends or explore supposedly haunted places?'' he asked. Sam looked back to him, smiling.
''Well, I like to read books and I tend to play video games. I already told you how my dad works at a game development company and he always buys me new games or the newest console,'' she said.
''I assume you and your friends have a lot of fun with that,'' Springtrap said, only to realize that this was the wrong thing to say. Sam fell silent, even looking angry. ''Sam?''
''I did have a few friends,'' she said in a quiet tone. ''They would often come over to my place and play video games. However, when I wanted to hang out with them, they would they would make up excuses and tell me they're busy. They told me I was annoying, and I started to wonder whether I was bothering them or that I was maybe too pushy. For all I knew, they probably needed the time to do their homework or study for exams, so I was trying to be as nice and considerate as possible and let them make the decision. Somehow, they would always ask to go to my place, but when I refused, they told me I was a bad friend.''
She frowned, with Springtrap having a bad feeling about this.
''Even better, I trusted them! I believed that I was a bad friend and that I should bend over backwards to please them, even though I refused to do that. I believed that I was bothering them with my requests, even though I barely spoke to them. Even when I did speak, they would roll their eyes at me and tell me to shut up. I hated it.'' Sam's eyes sparkled, with tears appearing in the corners of her eyes. ''I almost completely stopped talking to them, even though I still let them come over to my place, since they were my friends. However, it was enough for me to realize that they were acting like they owned my house and treated me as if I was their housemaid, asking me to bring them snacks or to give them whatever game they wanted. Hell, I let them borrow a few of my games and when I asked them to return those games, they told me that they had no idea what I was talking about or that they lost them. I went several times to their place, with their parents or siblings letting me in and helping me find my games. Luckily, I was smart enough to write down my name on each video game, so I knew that they belonged to me. My so-called friends weren't happy when they saw me leaving with my video games.''
She shook her head.
''I knew they had been taking advantage of me, but I still refused to accept it. Eventually, I asked them whether they would want to go for an ice and the answer was, obviously, that they didn't have the time for that. When I decided to go alone to the ice cream parlor, I found them already sitting there. They didn't see me, and I sat nearby and heard them talk about me.'' She clenched her fists, now shaking in anger. ''They were talking about how they were glad I wasn't with them. They were calling me names, saying I was a bitch for not letting them walk over me. They were joking about how it would be funny if something happened to me. I had enough at that point.'' She smiled bitterly, refusing to look Springtrap in the eyes. ''I ghosted them, simply as that. I stopped talking to them and when they started wondering why they couldn't go to my place, I pretended they didn't exist. Not exactly mature, but I didn't care. Eventually, they gave up, but not without telling me what a horrible person I was.''
Springtrap noticed that Sam was shaking and, when he got closer, noticed tears flowing down her cheeks. She quickly wiped them away, trying to smile as if the whole story didn't affect her at all, but she looked rather withdrawn.
''Am I bothering you?'' she asked, surprising Springtrap. She then shook her head. ''Doesn't matter, you don't have to answer that. Forget about it.''
Springtrap had the uncanny feeling that he now knew the second reason why Sam was so torn about helping him. He also guessed that she kept that inside her for so long, that she simply couldn't stop herself from ranting.
''Do your parents know?''
''I never told them anything, although Mum was really confused when I suddenly started to lock myself in my room,'' Sam replied bitterly. Her expression then softened, with her looking quite tired. ''It wasn't a bad thing, though. I realized that I was better off on my own and that, being a bit of a daydreamer, I was happier spending my time in my own little fantasy worlds. I hated reality.''
''I understand,'' Springtrap said, drawing her attention. ''You felt betrayed, fair and simple. You had a good reason to feel like that.''
Sam didn't answer. The fake smile faded and she looked really hurt, if not a little embarrassed that she told him all of that. It was something she wanted to keep for herself, despite the fact that, at the same time, she wanted to be open about the issue and simply talk to someone. Springtrap wasn't surprised that she had trust issues.
Trust is something you need to earn. Still, it is surprising how easily it gets destroyed and how hard it is to rebuild it.
He didn't really care whether people trusted him or not. He knew how to gain things via manipulation rather than proving that he was a trustworthy person. Even though he never got it directly confirmed, he knew that Henry probably had a hard time believing that his close friend was a cruel monster who had betrayed him.
However, it was over now. All things that had been said and done had come to an end. Sure, he was haunted by his past now, tormented by hallucinations, but he wasn't going to let the past dictate his current actions, even though he still didn't understand what he was supposed to do.
''You're not bothering me,'' he said, with Sam looking back at him, stunned. ''I'm actually fine being in your company.''
''Sure, and you're going to gloss over the fact that you were irritated by my antics… or the fact that you have tried to kill me,'' Sam replied sarcastically, a wry smile on her expression.
''I am not going to gloss over anything. What happened was my fault,'' Springtrap replied calmly, surprising Sam. ''I simply wanted to be honest with you. Although, your actions don't make any sense.''
''Actions don't have to make sense, but they should have a meaning behind them,'' Sam replied. She was startled when Springtrap suddenly turned to her and put his hands on her shoulders.
''You're not alone,'' he said, the grin on his mask as if widening. ''You can tell me whatever bothers you. I won't complain.''
Sam was still staring at him in confusion, with Springtrap realizing that he may have said the wrong thing. He stepped back, looking crestfallen.
''I messed up, didn't I?'' he said in a quiet tone. ''You said that actions don't have to make sense, but should have a meaning behind them.'' He looked back at her. ''I'm really bad at this, aren't I? I'm trying to be honest with you, but I just come off as creepy.''
''No offense, but you kinda do,'' Sam replied. Springtrap sighed.
''May I be honest about something with you?'' he asked, with Sam nodding, but still looking weirded out. ''I have been thinking about what you told me and I wanted you to know that I understand why you don't trust me. I don't think I would either if I was in your shoes.'' He lowered his head. ''I appreciate your help. I know that you don't have to help me, but you still do, despite the fact that you know how dangerous I am and what I have done. You know what I'm capable of and you still insist on trying to save me.'' He clenched his fists. ''I don't think anyone would ever go this far for me, the least a random girl who is only aware of what happened.'' He glanced back at her, forcing himself to look straight into her eyes. ''I just wanted to thank you for what you did for me. I mean it.''
To his surprise, she was smiling back at him. Springtrap felt the emptiness in his chest briefly disappearing, being replaced with a sense of warmth. It was only for a moment, but he felt relieved that the weight had been finally lifted from his chest. He had realized that Sam was actually genuinely happy that he was being honest with her and he felt that it was worth it seeing her like this.
However, he was aware that this was only one small step he took and that more still waited for him. He knew that what he had done couldn't be forgotten nor forgiven, but he made up his mind to at least focus on the present and change the future, since the past was already impossible to change. To be honest, he was stunned that he even made it this far.
xXx
It had been dead in the night, with Springtrap lying on the couch in the guest room and focusing on the novel he was reading. After they had returned back home, Sam ran she ran into her room and emerged with a stack of books, which she shoved into the stunned animatronic's arms, only to vanish into the room and emerge with another stack of books, telling him how he wouldn't be bored anymore during the night. Springtrap figured that there had been enough reading material to last him for weeks, depending on how fast he read the novels.
He checked the covers, noticing that they were mostly of the horror, fantasy, supernatural and crime genre. Some books were novelizations of video games or were based on the video game's universe. Sam also gave him a scrapbook she made on her own, which contained every urban legend she knew about (excluding the ones about Freddy's, as she told him that that one deserved its own book, if not several of them), suggesting sheepishly to read the one titled ''The Bunny Man''. While it sounded interesting, Springtrap wasn't exactly impressed by the supposed carnage The Bunny Man caused, although he could see why Sam would be interested in such urban legend, as it was very possible for it to happen. That, and her pointing out that he was technically also a ''bunny man''.
Currently, he was reading a crime novel about a detective who was struggling against a serial killer who supposedly died years ago in an incident in which the detective was not only involved, but was also forced into retirement because of it. Apparently, only the detective believed that the serial killer didn't die in the incident, as no body had been found. Years later, the serial killer resurfaced again to torment the detective, while at the same time making sure nobody believed him that his old nemesis was still alive and the case should be opened once again. Springtrap had reached a rather tense part of the story, where the serial killer had kidnapped a young woman and poisoned her with slow-acting poison, forcing the detective to reach into a glass box for the antidote. The glass box was actually a trap, rigged to slice off the detective's hand if he made a mistake.
Just as he was about to find out whether the detective lost his hand, he heard movement from outside the guest room. He got up and quietly opened the door, noticing the one to Sam's room closing. He guessed that she probably got up to get a glass of water or something similar. Other than that, the night had been rather calm.
Returning back to the novel, Springtrap couldn't help but think about his conversation with Sam and how they both felt about the whole thing. He had his doubts and even wondered whether it made sense for him to even try to atone for what he did, but he soon realized that he didn't want to go back on his word. He didn't care how this would end, but he wanted to at least make sure he did try to change something about his life.
You probably didn't expect this, old friend.
There was also the fact that they had another murderer walking around, but whether this had any sort of connection to Freddy's or whether it was a random murder still remained a mystery. While Sam didn't mention it, Springtrap knew that she probably wanted to investigate the murder and perhaps even thought that the past may be repeating.
To be honest, he also had a bad feeling that this wouldn't be the last murder to occur.
xXx
Surprisingly, the first thing she sensed when she woke up in the morning was the scent of food. Feeling hungry and still half-asleep, she wondered if she was dreaming, but she soon realized that she did hear something happening downstairs. Getting quickly dressed, she checked the guest room, but it was empty, and the books she had given to Springtrap were put on the cabinet. She quickly went downstairs, realizing how familiar the scent was.
''Pancakes!''
Sam felt a mix of excitement and surprise when she saw a stack of freshly made pancakes on the kitchen table, with Springtrap holding a frying pan. He tilted his head, looking cheerful.
''Good morning!''
''Good morning… Since when do you cook?'' Sam rose an eyebrow.
''You know, there is still a human in this animatronic suit,'' Springtrap replied. ''I know how to cook, and I figured you'd be hungry once you wake up.''
He wanted to continue, but it didn't take much convincing to get Sam eat the pancakes he made. He was a little nervous, as he didn't know whether she would like them or not. However, his worries vanished when he noticed the pleased expression Sam had.
''They're really good,'' she said, standing up and getting the glasses of strawberry and sour cherry jam out of the fridge. ''Thanks for the breakfast!''
''I can make for if you want,'' Springtrap replied. ''Besides, that's the least I could do for you, especially since you allowed me to stay here.''
''Don't be so sure about that. My mum will have the last word about you staying here,'' Sam replied, a little worried.
''Do you think she will allow me to stay here?'' Springtrap asked her after a small pause. Sam shrugged.
''Mum is actually really chill and while she might be weirded out by your appearance, I think she will let you stay. However, once she learns you're a murderer…''
''In other words, I need to pretend that I'm a sentient animatronic, rather than a soul that had been willingly trapped inside a robot,'' Springtrap concluded. ''It shouldn't be that hard.''
''Just try to act as usual,'' Sam suggested, looking at the news on her smartphone. Springtrap approached her, glancing at the device.
''What are you looking at?''
''I wanted to check the news, whether there's anything about the corpse we found yesterday,'' she replied, then shook her head. ''Nothing.''
''Either it hadn't be found yet or the place is already in the process of being cleaned up,'' Springtrap said. ''However, since this guy wasn't a Freddy's employee, I'm not sure whether there will be the usual procedures or something else might happen.''
''Speaking of Freddy's, this is now the second night,'' Sam said, sounding a little more serious. Springtrap nodded, having a feeling where this conversation was leading. ''I showed you Five Nights at Freddy's yesterday and I plan to show you Five Nights at Freddy's 2 today, which gives the first game more backstory.''
''Okay,'' Springtrap said quietly, sitting across her. ''Are you really going to show me one game per night?''
''Not really. For the last two nights, I plan to go with two games for each. You'll understand why,'' Sam replied.
''Can you at least tell me what this one is going to be about?'' Springtrap asked, a little concerned. He still didn't like the idea of being confronted by his past, but he felt that this was something he had to go through.
''It's about the Missing Children Incident and what happened in 1987,'' Sam replied. Springtrap nodded, the feeling of emptiness once again spreading through his chest.
xXx
''There is something I'd really like to know,'' Sam said, snapping Springtrap out of his feeling of unease. ''In Phone Guy's calls to the new night guard, someone named Jeremy Fitzgerald, he mentions that there had been a previous night guard who got promoted to the day shift. He also said that that night guard complained about being attacked by the animatronics.''
Springtrap, who was sitting on Sam's bed, looked at the monitor of Sam's laptop, finding himself facing the image of the Toy Animatronics, as well as a transcript of Phone Guy's calls from the game.
''It turns out later that the animatronics had been tampered with, and according to Phone Guy, not only were they brand new, but also had a facial recognition system tied into some kind of criminal database. According to Phone Guy 'the characters have been acting very unusual, almost aggressive towards the staff. They interact with the kids just fine, but when they encounter an adult, they just... stare','' Sam said, crossing her arms and tilting her head as she looked at Springtrap. ''So, were you the one who tampered with them?''
''You made the right assumption,'' Springtrap said sheepishly. ''It wasn't that hard though. Besides, I prefer to wear a mask.''
''So, do you know anything about the Bite of '87?'' Sam asked curiously.
''No. Unfortunately, I wasn't around for that.''
''I should've known,'' Sam said. ''My assumption is that Jeremy was the victim, since the animatronics were antagonistic towards adults and Jeremy would have to keep a close eye on them. About the perpetrator, it had to be the Toys, because the Withereds were in the back room, and Puppet and Balloon Boy don't look like they could damage someone's frontal lobe. To be honest, I think it was Toy Chica.''
''Toy Chica? Why not Mangle?'' Springtrap asked. ''It has quite sharp teeth.''
''Yeah, but Mangle doesn't look like she can just walk up to someone and bite them,'' Sam replied.
''You'd be surprised what a mangled amalgamation of metal and cables can do,'' Springtrap told her.
''I am aware of that.'' Sam narrowed her eyes. ''Also, I wanted to add that Toy Chica can remove her beak and it looks pretty sharp. Now imagine that sticking out of your forehead.''
''You have a point,'' Springtrap said, having a bad feeling about the next topic. It didn't help that Sam was giving him that unnerving stare again.
''About the Missing Children Incident…''
''I killed them,'' Springtrap interrupted, suddenly raising his tone. ''I had payed and overpaid for what I did, and they're free now. If what happened-''
''William!''
Springtrap was startled when Sam suddenly yelled at him. He was unsettled by the glare she was giving, realizing he had said something wrong. He kept quiet, avoiding Sam's gaze.
''Were you even aware that they would get stuck like that?'' she asked in a quiet tone.
''No…'' he replied. ''At that time, I wasn't even aware that-''
''That a soul could possess a robot,'' Sam added, standing up. ''Apparently, your first victim, the Puppet, did. She also knew that, by giving them gifts, she could also give them life.''
Springtrap looked at the monitor of her laptop, noticing a short video of a minigame where Puppet would walk over to the four dead children and put the animatronic heads on them.
''She couldn't give them back the life they had, nor return them back home. They lost everything, left only with the desire to get revenge on you,'' Sam said, growing angrier. Springtrap closed his eyes, expecting her to scream at him, only to hear a calm, quiet voice. ''Why did you murder them?''
He wished she had screamed at him. That reserved, accusing tone of hers was worse than any of the Hell he had endured in that cursed office. He kept quiet, wondering how to explain everything to her, even though he knew that there was no explanation for this. Whatever he said would make this situation only worse.
''William, remember how I told you that actions don't have to make sense, but should have a meaning behind them?'' The question caused him look up at her, surprised to see, not her being enraged, but on the verge of tears. It made him feel even worse. ''Why have you even turned to killing?''
''I don't know,'' Springtrap replied, lowering his head in defeat. ''I always felt bitter and empty during my life. I thought that I could do something about it, but nothing worked out.''
''But murdering people did,'' Sam said coldly.
''I'm not going to deny that. I regret what I did. I cannot be forgiven for that, but…'' Springtrap sighed, shaking his head. ''Maybe I am wrong for even thinking I can seek atonement.''
''You're not wrong about either of those things,'' Sam said, with Springtrap glancing at her, noticing the look of pity she had. ''You cannot be forgiven, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try to change. I mean, you told me that you want me to trust you and that you would work on that. You said you regret what you have done in the past. So far, you haven't done anything to hurt me and you have been honest with me as much as possible. You could've lied to me or tried to harm me whenever I confronted you with your past, but you didn't. Does that really sound to you like the behavior of a remorseless murderer?''
''I guess having a complete breakdown in Hell does that to you,'' Springtrap said, sighing. ''I'm sorry.''
''I'm not the person you should apologize to,'' Sam replied.
''You're still the only person around,'' Springtrap told her. ''The only one I can apologize to.''
''True, but I cannot speak in the name of your other victims, only for myself,'' Sam said, walking over to him. ''You know, something I've been wondering about, what would've happened if you hadn't tried to kidnap me the first time we met?''
''You mean, when I tried to kill you until you revealed you knew more than expected,'' Springtrap said dryly.
''About that, I'm not completely angry about what you tried to do, but it sure didn't help to fix the already bad impression I had about you,'' Sam said.
''I'm sorry,'' Springtrap replied, albeit a little surprised, and glad, that Sam wasn't so mad about it. ''I guess I would've gone on another murder spree if I hadn't decided to make you my first victim.''
''Which brings us back to this situation,'' Sam said, causing Springtrap to look at her in confusion. ''I was the one who suggested that you could try to change for once and you accepted the idea without making much of a fuss, even though you doubted that you'd be capable of trying to atone for what you did.''
''What is your point?'' Springtrap asked.
''To be honest, I have two theories about you being brought back,'' Sam said, rising her hand with a V-sign as a visual cue. ''The first one is actually what you just confessed – that you would've gone on another murder spree, not caring whether it would land you in a place worse than Hell, as long as you could satisfy your desire to get rid off the emptiness you feel.'' She then tilted her head. ''The second would be our chance encounter. I've been wondering whether it maybe wasn't completely accidental.''
''So, you want to say that whatever entity sent me back wanted me to meet you?'' Springtrap asked. ''Sounds a little far-fetched.''
''It is and I'm not saying this whole thing had indeed been a set up. However, I want you to think about your actions that night,'' Sam said, with Springtrap suddenly realizing what she meant. However, he let her explain the rest. ''I think that, had you killed me, it would've been over for you. The moment you got incinerated once again, you'd be done for. However, you didn't, therefore meaning that, while you would still suffer and be tormented by hallucinations, you're at least not your own, and you have someone who can help you and guide you.''
''Who would've thought that one small decision could have such a great impact,'' Springtrap muttered.
''I don't think it's exactly small. You shouldn't be downplaying it,'' Sam replied as she sat down on the chair, closing the file on her desktop and searching for the local news website. ''Still no reports.''
''Do you really want to investigate what happened?'' Springtrap asked curiously.
''To be honest, my common sense tells me that this has nothing to do with our situation and to ignore it. The conspiracy theorist in me says that the cops wouldn't even know what to make out of the situation and treat it like a random homicide,'' Sam replied, entering Ricky's Wonder Shack website. ''It would be best to start from here.''
''What are you planning to do? You don't have access to anything and I doubt you can just walk inside and ask the manager about their missing security guard,'' Springtrap said sarcastically, until it dawned him. ''Wait, do you want to say that the murder happened there?''
''Let's just say that Ricky's seems to be caring a little too much about their reputation, especially how often they compare themselves to Freddy's and claim they're better than them,'' Sam replied. ''Who knows, maybe they also have a few skeletons in their closet.''
''Before you go on, backtrack a little bit. Why would they kill their own security guard and then leave him at Freddy's?'' Springtrap asked. ''Also, as far as I know, that guy hadn't been killed by an animatronic.''
''I think there are two options. The murder may have been an accident and they want to destroy Freddy's reputation by framing them for the murder, which sounds really crazy. The other option would be that the guy saw something he shouldn't have seen and was silenced because of that,'' Sam explained.
''The latter option sounds more likely,'' Springtrap said. ''So, what are you planning? Another nightly visit?''
''Actually, I planned to go there now and just look around,'' Sam said.
''Didn't you mean to say that we would go there and have a look around?'' Springtrap asked.
''No offense Spring, but even though you wouldn't stick out among the animatronics, you still aren't a Ricky's mascot,'' Sam replied. ''You might draw weird looks from the employees.''
''I'm certain that things would still work out,'' Springtrap said in a confident tone. ''It might sound strange to you, but I had also been a performer and I know how to not draw attention to myself. The only thing I would need is some kind of map to know my way around the place.''
''I can provide you with one,'' Sam grinned, turning back to her laptop.
''Really?!'' Springtrap looked stunned, glancing at the monitor.
''Ricky's put up a map of the location on their website, with the explanation that their customers could print it out and it would help them navigate through the location, like finding the bathrooms or the exits in case of a fire,'' Sam explained, turning her laptop to Springtrap so he could get a better view of it. ''Since you decided to come along, there's something else…'' He watched her walking over to her closet, taking out a box from it and searching for something. Eventually, she pulled out two walkie-talkies and tossed one to him. ''For easier communication, since I doubt I'll be able to follow you around.''
''You're really determined to go through with this,'' Springtrap said, looking at the walkie-talkie and back at Sam, who was grinning. He stood up, a little curious.
''To be honest, I am a little excited,'' she admitted. Springtrap crossed his arms behind his back, a smile on his expression.
''You have my full support,'' he said. ''None of us will be alone in this mess.''
He observed Sam as she smiled back, looking quite confident. The warmth he had felt the last night returned, now a little stronger.

It's Complicated: Part 4 || Leonardo
Pairing: 2012 Leo x Reader
Word Count: 1,791
Warnings: Mature themes throughout
Leo watched as you held your hand out towards him, gesturing to his own. He reached his hand toward yours and you placed yours lightly on top. Touching his own but just barely, you traced the lines of his palm, and when he looked into your eyes they were focused, but with each movement, you seemed to relax a little more. He let out a shaky sigh and realized that you were having the same effect on him too.
Maybe things will be alright.
Nothing but silence and your fingers moving across his. He focused on them and nothing else. Not what had happened, or what was going to transpire because of it. Just you. You and how you had just begun to hum. And now he closed his eyes, and the heel of your palm rested in his and your fingers only traced lazy circles on his skin. They seemed to ignite something in him. Something bright and burning and not at all like heaviness that had surrounded him when he first sat down. This was a little buzzing pricking feeling that seemed to travel all the way up his arm and into his heart.
Maybe his head knew that everything wasn't alright, but you could've fooled his heart.
---
You worry about Leo. Of course, you've always worried about him. He carries the weight of the world on his shoulders, and because of that, he pushes people away. But right here? Even after what's happened he's not pushing you away. He's letting you hold onto him. If he had pushed you away... You don't even want to think about it. Instead, you choose not to take anything he gives you for granted.
There the two of you are when the others come inside, ready for dinner. The noise of the door banging open followed by multiple loud conversations occurring at once startles you and on reflex, you pull your hand away more quickly than you would've liked.
Leo's eyes snap open and he groans, extracting himself from the couch before noticing his cookie still lying on the table, and he quickly grabs both of your cookies, shoving them in your mouths before the others can see.
Mikey comes barreling into the room, vaulting over the couch and landing with a solid oomph. "I crushed them at hide and seek, (y/n), you should have seen it!" He's practically making the entire couch bounce with his energy.
"This numnut managed to hide for a full freakin' hour." Raph ruffles the top of his brother's head as he walks past.
"I just can't believe he managed to stay still that long." Donnie shrugs. "It's practically a miracle."
Casey appears to be stomping more than walking as he enters the room. "I swear I checked that place at least twice!" He grumbles.
"I became one with nature," Mikey replies, taking a Zen sort of pose. "The only reason you finally found me was because I wanted you to find me."
"I'm never playing hide and seek with you ever again." April scoffs as she collapses onto the couch.
You look to Leo with a smile on your face, and this time he finally smiles back. Even if it's only for this single moment, everything feels like it's supposed to.
But, if you think too hard, that little voice will remind you about the secret you're holding onto. And for now, you shove that little voice to the back of your mind.
---
Leo couldn't sleep. It was far from the first time, but tonight all he wanted to do was shut his eyes and not open them until morning. The tapping of a tree branch on the window panes was becoming more irritating than calming, and he had flipped around so many times already that he was tangled up in the sheets.
He sat up abruptly and threw the covers off of himself, his feet causing a dull thud to emanate from the wooden floors as he moved swiftly to the door. What he wasn't expecting, was for the door to bump into something as he swung it open, or the hand that followed, pulling him to the ground. Whatever? Whoever he landed on let out a pained grunt when they hit the floor, and Leo echoed the sentiment.
"Ouch, ouch ouch." He could hear you hiss through clenched teeth. "Oooooooouuuuuch." You whisper-yelled, pounding your fist quietly on the floor of the hallway a few times before biting down on your knuckle. Hard.
He scrambled off of you as quickly and as gently as he could, but he was clumsy too and managed to end up flat on his back beside you.
"Are you alright?" He asked. In the shadows, he could see you start to shake. No, no, no, why did he keep hurting you?
A strange noise bubbled out of your throat then, and wait. Was that laughter? It was a familiar sound, and oh how he loved it. He could feel a chuckle slip out of himself.
"I'm fine, Leo. Really." You giggled again, trying to speak through the laughter. "But oww... My head." You groaned.
Leo sat up. "Are you okay?"
"I'll survive." You said dryly, giving him a playful glare.
"Well, that's a relief." He replied. "Couldn't sleep?"
"No... You?" You asked, continuing to lay on the floor and grimace, hand rubbing your forehead where he assumed the door had hit.
"Not so much." He sighed. He wondered if what was keeping him awake was keeping you from sleep as well.
"Well, I was headed out to the swing if you'd care to join." You offered, finally sitting yourself up.
He stood, holding out his hand. "That sounds nice." He said, trying to restrain the smile on his face.
The heat of your hand wrapped in his sent a shiver down his spine. "Thank you." You whispered, eyes locked on his. The silence of the hallway in the dead of night made his heart pick up pace until he couldn't take the intensity of your gaze any longer and had to break away.
"After you." He managed to say.
---
It had been three weeks since your "trip" in the woods, and your ankle was almost as good as new. Donnie still had you wrapping it, and not doing anything strenuous for the next week, but after that - fingers crossed - you would be able to go about your normal routine training with the others. It was quite nice once again being able to get around without assistance.
The two of you sat on the swing, Leo keeping a slow momentum going with his foot. You had brought a blanket with you, and it was draped across your laps to keep the chilly evening air at bay. You leaned your head back against the smooth wood of the swing, watching the stars blink in and out between dark tree branches.
"I have something I want to tell you." You said, steeling your nerves. If you don't do this now, you're just going to keep putting it off. "And if it ends up being super weird... then we'll just forget I ever mentioned it... Alright?" Or maybe I'll just die of embarrassment instead. You tilted your head to the side, long enough for his eyes to meet yours.
"Alright." He said.
"I like you. I mean, as more than just a friend." The swing's motion halted abruptly, the sound of Leo's heel catching in the dirt not really giving you the confidence boost you were hoping for. "Or-or a good friend... I have for a long time honestly. And I know that things aren't exactly the same as they were, but my feelings for you, they haven't changed. I just... didn't think it was right not to tell you. With everything, I mean..." You said.
"Me? But I'm not..." He started.
Not interested, probably. You turned to face him. "Not what?" You asked.
"I'm not even human, (Y/n)." He said, his hands lying limply in his lap. His eyes were cast down, watching his toe scuff around in the grass below.
Gently you reached out to place your hand on his. "Wow, I hadn't noticed." You laughed softly.
"You know what I mean." He said. "Wouldn't you rather be with someone like Casey?"
"Casey?" You scoffed. "Casey Jones? The Casey that we just spent an hour getting his hand unstuck from a metal pipe. That Casey Jones?"
Leo sighed. "Okay, okay, no, not Casey, but you get what I'm saying. Wouldn't you rather be with someone who's at least human?"
Why was Leo trying so hard to discount himself? Unless... Unless he didn't want to be with you... "I could really care less about all of that, Leo. Truly. There's no one else like you." Someone who would try to let me down so gently.
You had sprung this on him so shortly after everything that had happened... And of course, now he probably wouldn't ever see you that way. You couldn't blame him.
"(Y/n), I -" He started, placing his other hand on top of yours.
You quickly pulled your hand back, cutting him off. "I know there's a lot on your plate right now, and you probably don't feel the same way-"
"(Y/n)-" He tried again.
But now you were rambling. "- so we can just forget about it a-"
"Would you just let me answ-" He tried one last time.
You weren't letting him get a word in now, hoping you could just end the conversation and be done with it. At this point maybe you should just leave entirely and get out of everyone's way. Go and live in solitude forever. Relationships were proving to be very messy all of a sudden. At last this particular one. And if you left, Leo could focus on leading the others and going home again. Maybe they'd be better off without you. "-etend this never-"
And then he kissed you. This time it wasn't because of the alcohol. This time he knew what he was doing. And you knew what you were doing. You were kissing him back.
His hand moved to hold your head as you pulled apart. "I like you too." He said before he leaned in and kissed you again, slower this time, your head tilting into his palm. You're not exactly sure where your hands went, but you knew they were on him like his lips were on yours. In that moment, a new kind of love sparked in your soul. The kind that, if allowed to grow, is not so easily extinguished.
You stayed out on that swing and kissed... well... you lost track of how many times exactly, but it was quite a few.

a wish with Sanji, granted!
Tumblr media
request by @yuki-chan05: make a wish! | christmas event for '21 🥂
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
||
The night at the town you were currently residing in was just getting lively- golden lights lit the town amidst the darkness. The citizens were enjoying their time, some still at work, some out to celebrate, some came to shop just like you and Sanji did.
Of course, it's a celebration for Christmas, however, you guys didn't expect the food to be finished in an hour. Now, you have to quickly buy more ingredients as well as food, otherwise, Luffy would secretly spend the money to buy food until you run out of budget.
And so you concluded, it was best you manage them with Sanji.
"Y/n-chan! Please, wait for me there! I forgot to buy something. I'll be back quickly!" Sanji shouted from afar, waving his arms to get your attention.
'When did Sanji lagged behind me?' You questioned, but you still put both of your thumbs up in response to him.
You sat on the chair outside a dimly-lit store, it was overlooking the vast midnight blue sea that looked as if it was glistening under the moon. On the other side of the store was the streets, you can hear the town's voice in the middle of a buzzing busy Christmas eve, in spite of that, the sea waves were moving in harmony, it was whispering a gentle music in your ear.
As you look up at the night sky, sprinkles of white little lights looked astonishing as they twinkle. Your heart has been captured by the pretty sight- it has made you sigh softly as you romanticize its beauty in your head.
Just right after, you hear him calling your name.
"Y/n-chwannnnn!"
"Sanji," you replied with a smile.
At the time he was infront of you, he was still clutching the groceries in his hand, but they were on top of his knees as he tries to catch his breath.
"Have you been waiting for long, Y/n-chan? I'm really sorry, there were a lot of people in the store." Sanji looked up at you with an apologetic smile.
You stepped closer to him and wiped the sweat on his forehead with the end of your sleeves.
"There must have really been quite a lot- you're sweating despite the snow after all." You chuckled at your statement, looking back into his eyes, only to find them sweating as well. "Sanji?"
You instantly cupped his cheeks, wiping the liquid off his face with your thumbs. In contrast to his usual figure, he looked so soft in your hands- as if he was something so fragile, something that could easily break.
"I'm just so glad you're mine, Y/n-chan." He released the bags from his hold and brought out a small box on the pocket inside his suit, which he handed to you. "It's my small present for you."
You looked into his eyes once again before opening the box, inside it lies a pretty ring- reflecting the white twinkling lights up the night sky and the genuine emotion in your beloved's eyes.
"It's a ring of promise for you-" he slowly took the ring from the box- "a promise of my devotion. I, your one and only, your beloved, your Sanji, will return all that you give twice as much. It must be nice to say 'I will love you till my last breath', that 'I love you for eternity', but... I don't want to love you for as long as I breathe- I don't want to love you till death. I want to love you with no limit. This- is what I promise."
He leaned towards you, touching your forehead with his- catching his breath and finally, you felt his lips on yours. Warm, sweet, heartmelting, that was how you would describe the kiss.
And then... the bell rang across the town.
"Merry Christmas, Y/n-chan."

Seeing Red | bodyguard!Bucky Barnes x reader (part 7)
(part 1) (part 2) (part 3) (part 4) (part 5) (part 6)
series summary: bucky used to brag that he didn’t have a celebrity crush, or really care about famous people at all, which is what made him the perfect person to start working for a celebrity like yourself.  except, of course, it’s just his luck that he’d fall for you.
word count: 2.5k
warnings: um just implied smut and fluff and a reference to bdsm I guess?? but it's pretty chill overall

y/n.y/l/n okay first of all, it takes an act of god to get a picture of this guy smiling, but it’s always worth it.  he really changed everything for me and I can’t thank him enough for that.  so happy ❤️

flowercrowny/n oh my god this is so sweet i’m gonna cry
1 HOUR AGO
He smiled as he stared down at the post you’d made, remembering how much effort you’d put into finding the perfect picture (in your opinion; he thought he looked kinda dopey in it) as well as writing and re-writing your caption.
The speed at which your post gained likes and comments was inconceivable to him; even more impressive was the speed at which gossip rags were picking up the story.  Sure enough, his phone’s alerts to new headlines about you were not only going off like crazy, but had started to include news about himself as well.
Y/N Y/L/N Shocks With Romantic Instagram Post, Confirms Dating Rumors
You’ll Never Guess Which Hollywood Starlet Is Dating Her Driver
Who is James Barnes?  Everything We Know About Y/N Y/L/N’s New Beau
Skimming one of the articles, he was impressed at how much information they’d managed to get without actually getting anything from you or him.  Born in Brooklyn, disabled Army veteran, worked a list of odd jobs before becoming your driver and bodyguard.  ‘No social media presence, prefers to keep a low profile’ one of them said; you can say that again, Bucky chuckled to himself when he read it.
He found another from People and didn’t particularly appreciate that it spent half the time going through all your past exes and rumored partners (turned out ‘rumored’ is a fancy word for ‘a bunch of fans deluded themselves so hard that it somehow turned into news without any proof necessary’).  But he still smiled when he got to the part that was actually about you and him.
‘The relationship is pretty new but they’re so happy together,’  a source close to the couple reported.
Close indeed; that statement came from your publicist, who he’d never even meet.
‘He’s a very private guy and she’s got this huge following, so they’re sort of an odd couple in that way, but she knows her fans are respectful and will let them have their own life outside of the spotlight.’
Bucky wasn’t sure that the respectfulness of fans was such a given here, but he hoped you were right.  To be fair, they’d been very sweet on your original post insofar.
However, when he scrolled to the bottom of the celebrity magazine articles and realized they had their own comments section, he discovered that they were a little less forgiving than the ones on your Instagram.
Is this the best she thinks she can do?  So sad tbh :(
a military guy…. yikes, she could get any guy she wants and she goes for a murderer.
He looks like a hobo that found a coupon for a free haircut lol
I don’t buy it, I know she’ll always love Pietro!
Pietro being your former co-star that so many of your fans were convinced was actually your soulmate.  From what he’d heard from you, those speculations had made things so uncomfortable between the two of you that it killed your friendship.  Those were nothing, though, compared to the comments about someone you actually had dated.
she’s obviously not over sam… they were so good together
He’d better watch out for her ex, he still likes tweets about her and they have so much chemistry
Wait, she’s not still with Sam Wilson??  I could’ve sworn they’d been dating for, like, five years.
You were scrolling through your phone with a smile as you walked past where he was sitting on the couch, and he just couldn’t help himself from asking even though he knew it wasn’t the best idea.  “Do I need to worry about this Sam thing?” he blurted out, trying to play it cool and not sound too anxious.  “People are really obsessed with you two…”
“Sam and I…” you sighed, staring off into space for a second.  He made himself anxious imagining what you were thinking about in that moment.  “I haven’t talked to him in… years?  I think it’s just because our relationship was so public that people are still talking about it.  And it had a lot of gossip material— we did a movie together, people thought it was sweet that we got together during production, it was great promotion for the picture… and from the outside, we made a lot of sense for each other.  But he has his own problems.  I loved him, but… he wasn’t ever going to be a one-girl kinda guy.”
“But you’re not just any one girl.  You’re… you know, you,” he emphasized.
“You’ve been reading too many headlines,” you shook your head as you sat down beside him.  “Please don’t turn into one of those guys who thinks of me as a celebrity first.  Before that—” you pointed to your own name where it was bolded on his screen in the trending topics page of Twitter— “was popping up on movie posters and in gossip magazines, it was just my name.  And I’m not perfect.  Not even close.”
Bucky sighed and wrapped his arms around you, pulling you into him and holding you tightly.  “And before I knew you were famous, or rich, or incredibly talented, I was totally obsessed with you just for who you are.”
“You’re too fucking amazing,” you sighed as you held his face and gave him a gentle kiss— the kind of kiss that instantly melted his heart and banished his worries.  When you pulled back and looked up at him with a smile, it was like everything else just… faded away.  “Don’t read the comments, okay?  None of them matter.”
He smiled and brushed his thumb over your cheek, overwhelmed by not only the softness of your skin but of your spirit as well.  In all his life he’d never been handled so… gently, with so much care.  “You’re the best thing that ever happened to me,” he mumbled, not even really realizing he’d said it aloud until you gave him a beaming smile.
“I can’t believe you’re my boyfriend,” you giggled pridefully.
“Seriously?  I can… very easily believe it,” he scoffed.
“I just mean… you’re so…” you searched for the words.  “You’re actually good to me, that’s the thing.  I’m not used to that.”
“You deserve the world,” he assured.  “I’m just gonna keep trying to give you as much of it as I can find.”
He watched his hand trail over your face, down your neck and to your chest where he played with the hem of your t-shirt.
"It's odd to know there are millions of people who are jealous of me,” he admitted quietly, remembering some aggressive comments from some very angry dudes who had apparently also watched your nude scene a few too many times.
"Do you like it?  Do you like how it feels to know you're making them angry every time you touch me?"
"Couldn't care less," he refuted.  "Nobody else matters when I'm touchin' you."
“Do you maybe wanna… touch me a little more about it?” you smirked, opening your legs slightly in invitation.
“Always.”
//
Bucky had, thankfully, not let the newfound fame get to his head.  In fact, he had demanded that the two of you hunker down in the house, since he feared that going out would lead to being recognized.  What he apparently hadn’t anticipated was that that might not be enough.
“Will you get that?” you requested when the gate buzzed, too wrapped up in the book you were reading to answer the intercom.
He hopped up and held down the button to communicate with the gate speaker.  “Who is it?” he asked.
“I’ve got a delivery from Anjappar Chettinad on 23rd?”
Bucky didn’t even reply before hitting the green button and granting access to the driveway.  BEEP BEEP BEEP! you heard the gate signal its opening, and the car pulling around up to the door.  Bucky didn’t open it until there was a knock, greeting the delivery guy with a smile and the necessary cash.
“I’ve got a lamb korma, hyderabadi mutton dum biryani and an order of— woah,” the man suddenly stopped, staring at Bucky’s face.  “Are you—?’
“Hungry?  Yes,” he frowned.
“You’re the guy dating— holy shit, congrats man,” he beamed, smacking Bucky on the shoulder pridefully before leaning in with a mischievous smirk.  “Say, is she a freak or what?”
“She is,” you piped up from the couch, making both men turn their heads; but one was chuckling while the other looked mortified.  “You better not have forgotten my paneer pakora or I’m gonna chain you up and whip you.”
“Uh, I— no, I got it right here,” he promised weakly, handing the bag over to Bucky and starting to dash away before Bucky grabbed his arm, making the smaller man whimper fearfully.
“You forgot the money,” Bucky reminded him gruffly, stuffing the bills into the driver’s front pocket.
Finally, he let go, and the delivery man instantly pulled away, rubbing his arm and looking a bit like a kicked puppy as he went back to his car and drove away.
“You didn’t need to scare him that bad,” Bucky chuckled.
“I could say the same to you!  Grabbing somebody with the metal arm like that will put the fear of God into them pretty fast.”
“I didn’t mean to grab him that hard,” he admitted, examining the prosthetic hand as he came back to the couch with the bag of food, handing it to you while he focused on watching his motorized fingers curl and uncurl.  “I think I need to get this thing recalibrated… it’s been bugging out lately.”
“I dunno, it was working just fine last night,” you smiled, remembering how delightfully cool those fingers felt inside you.
Bucky seemed to miss it entirely, though, as he stared off into space.  “I can’t believe I got… recognized.”
“You’re a star,” you winked.  “And not just with random delivery drivers.  I’ve had a lot of press requests, everybody wants to be the first one to get nice pictures of us together— we’ve had a dozen event invites as a couple.”
“Seriously?!” he scoffed, snapping back to reality slightly enough
“Yeah, and look what came in same-day mail this morning!”  You leaned over to shuffle through the mail on the side table before finding and handing him a letter in a gold-embossed envelope, watching him read what you knew was inside.
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association extends an invitation to Y/N Y/L/N and James Barnes to the annual Grant Banquet in support of the Young Artists Fund.
“It seems like a good first event for us,” you explained.  “Relatively small and low stakes, it’s for a good cause…”
“Are you sure I’m ready to be, you know… seen?  By people?”
You scoffed, hardly believing how insecure he could be sometimes.  “You look great, if that’s what you’re asking.”
“Will I have to talk to anybody other than you?” he asked, grimacing as if that were a form of brutal torture.
“Probably,” you admitted.
His frown deepened.  “What if I say the wrong thing?”
“I’m not that worried about you,” you smirked.  “You’re a lot better at this stuff than you think you are.”
“I don’t have anything to wear…”
You smirked, a little too proud of yourself, when you remembered the email your publicist had forwarded to you just this morning.  “Hugo Boss will pay you $1500 to wear one of their suits on the carpet.”
“They’ll pay me to wear free clothes?” he repeated with wide eyes.
“Yeah, that’s one of the cooler things about fame,” you laughed.  “I make a grand every time I wear this watch outside!”
“I guess I should send them my measurements then…” he trailed off.  “Any chance I can get in on that watch deal?”
“No, but you can make $50 by getting papped at Jamba Juice.”
He paused for a moment, scratching the back of his neck as he thought.  “Is the smoothie comped?”
“I don’t know.  Do you want me to ask?”
“...kinda…” he admitted with a shy smile.
“Well, I will, and I’ll RSVP to this invite saying we’ll be there next week,” you decided as you started to open up the food, but Bucky stopped you by reaching for your hands.
“Are we really doing this?” he asked.
“If you want to,” you mitigated.
“Of course I do.  I guess I have to accept that you’re actually willing to be seen with me,” he chuckled.  “It’s just sort of hard to believe.”
You leaned in and kissed him; it was meant to be a casual, reassuring peck but he held you closer and you melted into him, moaning softly at his touch as you started to climb into his lap.
“The food’s gonna get cold,” he reminded you with a mumble against your lips.
Unfortunately, your literal hunger was a bit too strong to ignore, even with the growing intensity of a metaphorical hunger for Bucky.  “Alright,” you relented, getting off of him and returning your attention to the meal on the table.  “Just know that I really, really want to be seen together, in public, just in case anybody missed the news about us already.  I’m not embarrassed by you or afraid you’re going to do something dumb.  I…”
One of those words that can’t be unsaid started to bubble up in your throat and you coughed, banishing the thought.
“I really like you.  I think we have something special.”
He smiled gently, giving you one more kiss on the cheek.  “I think so, too.”
//
Since this was slightly less of a big deal than a premiere or press tour, you had managed to convince your styling team to let you dress yourself, which was why he was laying on the bed and talking to you through the bathroom door while you put on your gown.
“Do you want me to hire a new driver?” you prompted him, voice muffled slightly as he imagined your head covered in the fabric, trying to navigate through the dress.  “I don’t want you to feel… I don’t know, like a servant?”
“A servant?  You’re still paying me,” he reminded you.  “You are still paying me, right?”
“Yes,” you laughed, “but still, I would hate it if you felt like staff.  You’re my boyfriend!”
(His heart still fluttered every time you said it.)
“No new driver,” he decided.  “I can drive just fine, and considering how things went between us… let’s not open the door for anybody else,” he smirked, making you laugh in that way you did when he made a stupid joke but you still liked it somehow.
“Okay, sure, but what about being my bodyguard?  Is that too weird?” you continued.
“God no,” he scoffed, “if anything I’m gonna be better at my job than ever.  As your boyfriend, keeping you safe is my job, but since keeping you safe was already my job… it’s, like, doubled-up now.”
He lost his train of thought when you opened the door.
“How do I look?” you asked as you stepped in and gave him a spin in your new dress.  Your whole body was draped in red silk, with the exception of your back which was almost entirely exposed, as if it were begging him to run his fingers down your spine.
“Like everything I ever wanted,” he blurted out before he could stop himself.
And it was so odd that you questioned his desire to drive you, because those moments where he could steer with one hand and rest the other on your thigh, when he could catch a glimpse of you looking out the window at the city rolling by, when he got to listen to you ramble about something to kill the time during a drive; those were his favorite moments, and he wouldn’t trade them for anything.
After a relatively brief trip, you arrived at the venue, and all of a sudden he was doing what he’d fantasized about more than he’d like to admit: escorting you down a red carpet.  It was almost overwhelming— yelling, chattering, reporters speaking into camera, flashes going off in every direction—
“Hey,” you whispered, bringing your hand up to his cheek and instantly taking all his attention.
“Hey,” he returned.
“Just follow my lead,” you instructed.
“That was the plan.”

Claws of Carnality | jjk (3)
Tumblr media
Pairing: alpha jungkook x omega reader
Genre: smut, fluff and angst, abo/werewolf, fantasy
Rating: 18+ / nsfw
Word Count: 3.2k
Warnings: alpha!jungkook, possessive!jungkook, omega!reader, mentions of breeding/ruts/heats, mentions of a mark, slick and pre-ejaculatory production, scenting
Summary: Denial is a crude adversary in how it battles your want to accept the alpha that has no shadings of doubt that you are, in fact, his mate. He intends to clear things up for you using the one surefire thing that will, however, prove him to truly be yours and you are utterly helpless in denying him.
A/N: So, here we are with part three already. Goodness, I can’t even believe how much attention this has gotten so far. Please keep it up, you guys! It really feeds my creative juices and encourages me when you guys let me know what you think of the stories I put out! Anyway, I hope you all enjoy this next part. Things are gradually going to begin to heat up from here on out and I can’t wait to see how you all react!
Part 1  Part 2  Part 4  Part 5  Part 6  Part 7  Part 8 Part 9
You try to swim through the flurry of thoughts, the floundering disbelief heavy as you wade through it in spite of the amused alpha that watches you with interest as a myriad of expressions pull at your features. It’s difficult to keep yourself afloat amidst the frenzy of emotions that cascade over you and your alpha notices this in the way that you fidget where you stand in the intensity with which he regards you, your hand clutching at your skirt as you inhale through your mouth to attempt to replace the air that eludes you.
One side of his lips curl upward in the effect he’s already had on you that only deepens in your silent refusal to acknowledge the final piece of the puzzle that would complete the missing segment of conviction still lost to you.
Unlike you, Jungkook has not an inkling of doubt that you are, without question, his mate. He just hadn’t known up until a few moments ago that you are to become something so much deeper than that to him that will extend into his very being, for even he’d had no idea that you are destined to be his soulmate in which there hasn’t been a pair of wolves like that for many thousands of years.
It all made sense to him in how his eyes had found themselves magnetized to the opposite pole that was you,  the constant holder of his attention whenever he’d had the privilege to watch you frolic gleefully with your omegean friends outside your den whenever he passed by through the cover of the trees after a successful hunt, his own scent masked by the carcasses of his prey.
He’d never been able to explain the inexplicable pull toward you that had grasped him unrelentingly until he’d managed to catch sight or smell of you to, nor had it made sense to him why he’d wanted to express himself to you so much so that he’d danced in effort to satisfy the need to bask in the warmth of your intrigued gaze.
Nothing has ever quite compared to the way that his blood races when you so much as glance at him now that he thinks on it and gods, he longs for you to welcome him now as eagerly as you had in the supposed safety of dreams. Even now the inebriating scent of you coils around him insistently as it begs for him to come closer to the source of his desires he’s yearned for years.
It’s not as easy for you to accept this, though, no matter how much you want to. Gods, do you want to.
In light of the bright, flashing signs that your wolf begs for you to heed, there’s a very critical and very crucial element that would immediately clear away the lingering shadow of denial that this creature before you who looks to have been crafted by the gods is meant to be yours. Despite your purebred omegean blood that distinguishes you as the most desirable of candidates for alphas and betas alike in the rarity of such a pedigree amongst your dynamic, Jeon Jungkook could have any bitch in the pack he wished. There were many others who you believed looked better and gave back to the clan more than the likes of you.
And in the self-consciousness that shackles you, you had not breathed through your nose ever since he’d brought himself near to you.
You know that the moment that you do, there will be no question that he is truly the alpha from your dreams who boldly claims to be your mate, for the intoxicating scent of him that had incensed itself within you was deliciously unforgettable in the way it had had the power to have you glistening with slick upon a single whiff. Because of that, there is a reason that you are actively choosing not to use your olfactory sense around him.
Only within the old tales written in the aged tomes of the compound’s archives which are guarded by the elders has there been recollections of the legendary lupi antiquis, who were the progenitors of the werewolf race. These creatures were incarnations of nature manifested into the bodies of wolves that were guided by the moon’s phases in the celestial body’s wish to bring life to the earth in the decay of other mythical creatures who had grown sad and lifeless without a companion in the rarity of which they’d roamed.
To ensure the strongest and most virile of the moon’s creations found a partner that would belong and be designed solely for them, it was said that the celestial body preselected the companion that would remain loyal to them through the entirety of their life by choosing for them a soulmate.
The word has always been held close your heart in the romantic radiance of it, for it had been said that a bond unlike any other in the lupine world burgeoned inside two destined mates of the moon’s selection among the abilities that allow such a pair to share thoughts and feelings with one another telepathically across insurmountable distances in addition to each wolf becoming stronger where the alpha would gain physical strength while the omega would be granted bolstered mental fortitude.
Beyond that, the wolf’s kiss could cure their mate of any ailment or injury in the profound love that the very essences of each kindred spirit were vested with as they longed ardently to remain together forever and always.
As time had passed, the word had begun to become diluted in the diminished occurrences with which it happened as more and more werewolves began to populate and once pure bloodlines became soured by excessive mating between different partners in the uncontrollable ruts and heats that drove them to couple with any wolf in the vicinity under the influence purely of instinct to breed and be bred.
Many lives had been lost during the violent, territorial battles over both alphas and omegas for a partner that often ended in death to one or both participants, the lessons of the past yielding guidance to the future generation in the written accounts left behind so that the fledgling pups that came after would not suffer as the earlier wolves had.
It is why your pack has such defined rules now upon the presentation or period of peak maturity for omegas in particular because they have always been the desired mates of alphas.
It is also how the entire compound knows when the last happening of two soulmates was, which had been a couple thousand years ago when the moon had aligned with the rest of the planetary bodies in the meticulously structured history courses that all maturing wolves are mandated to take and in the stories that are told by the elders over annual bonfires celebrating the bonding between two wolves.
Perhaps it is all of these reasons that have every wolf in your pack still able to discern and recognize the defined series of circumstances that present themselves between two lupine creatures fated to be each other’s soulmate.
The first is the gift of sight, which allows each lupine creature to see the eyes of their mate. The second is the gift of olfaction, which is the amalgamation of scents naturally produced from the scent gland of each wolf that have the ability to draw the undivided attention of their destined other so temptingly that it causes sudden production of either slick for omegas and pre-ejaculative fluid for alphas. In addition, this one is powerful enough that it acts an effluvious vice that impulses each lupine creature in how desirously their mate can waft into and draw out their counterpart’s instincts.
Each are granted only after the moon lights a path for them both to meet, but that hadn’t happened for you, had it? After all, it’s not like the stream of dreams every night after the last eclipse could have-
Your eyes widen bigger than the largest star as your cheeks color themselves redder than a ruby in mortification as the links join together and that has the alpha relishing in the adorable sight of you as he croons, “There it is, pretty. I knew you would come around soon enough,” he fixes his sight on the edge of a reddened petal he’d caused to fall over your skin in your supposed fantasy that peeks out from under the edge of your silken choker that he wishes he could tear off of you and add more of his marks to as he continues, “Did you think I would allow my mate to suffer with how desperately you whined and how loudly you howled for me?”
You fumble for words in the embarrassment that soaks you as you try to speak past a mouth that is dryer than the desert while you shake your head like you’re in a daze and you might as well be in how incapable you are of rationalizing at this point.
“This can’t be… it can’t be possible.” You whisper quietly as if thinking aloud and Jungkook finds that he appreciates the sound of you, that he is pleased in how you’ve finally chosen to use that cute voice of yours and let him into your thoughts.
The alpha coos, “Oh, my pretty omega, but it can,” he takes one calculated step closer, “Come on, little omega, smell me.  Do not think that I have not caught on to the fact that you haven’t used your nose in your efforts to deny this, to deny me.” His honeyed voice slathers itself over you, as you melt under its thickness, “You asked your alpha to come find you and I have, pretty. Now, it’s time for you to do the same. Scent me and see that I am the one the moon has promised you to, that I am the alpha you belong to.”
He delivers his words to you in the form of a command as he takes another step toward you only to have your heart beat faster against your ribcage, your wolf lowering its head in submission as you try to make yourself smaller under his searing, prompting gaze and the longer that you dangerously surrender yourself to those golden irises that are still speckled with the silver that mirrors your own, your resistance cracks and folds gradually under his increasingly prominent pressure. It can only be compacted and compressed so much until nothing remains and, unable to disobey his directive, you swallow a thick lump of nervousness down your throat before clearing it as he looks on expectantly.
His avid attention sears into you doggedly and, under its power, your omega blood boils in need to heed him and, purely driven by your body’s desideratum to yield to him without the input of any cognizant thought, your hand finds itself slowly and tentatively lifting toward the exposed neck that he has bared torturously against the obscenely opened shirt.  The fluttery wings of anticipation flap animatedly within you as the alpha watches with intrigue, allowing you to slowly near him.
Your fingers do not stall as they ghost over the notch between his collarbones as you dare to allow yourself to touch the skin that tries to reach for you in the waves of heat that roll off of him and when you turn your hand so that the soft underside of your wrist just barely manages to rub against his sensitive scent gland that all but strains and pulses against you, your breath hitches as a deep rumble of a growl tumbles from his throat in response.
It is not a sound born of aggression, but of satisfaction that has your omega preening under its euphoniously low trill and when his fingers close around your forearm to possessively drag your radiocarpal joint back and forth over the intimate area that secretes pheromones wantonly for you, your wolf sings at his hot touch, at the way that his fingers curl deliciously over your delicate skin.
The whole time, his irises flash tellingly in gratification that has you helplessly falling for the way he looks at you like you’re the only thing that exists, the only thing that matters as he greedily drinks in the way your mouth has parted dazedly while he coats himself in your own essence that is produced richly from the glands in your wrist.
The scent glands of the neck were far stronger, far more potent, but right now, he will take from you what you decide to give. There will be time for more later, he is sure.
Your delicious scent is quick to consume him, the sound that drips from his lips deepening in pitch as your aroma drapes itself over him in its entirety before sinking into his very pores until he’s momentarily drunk off you, his pupils enlarging until there is only you.
“Gods,” he utters, “you smell like sin, pretty. You’re like a fucking aphrodisiac in how you tempt me.” Somewhere in his pants, his cock twitches to life at the mere scent of you as your carnal essence awakens something far too primal within him.
“J-Jungkook,” you whimper, your wolf baying in delight at his admission and wantful actions.
In response to him, your own irises dilate as your heart pangs wildly against your chest, breath a hard companion to come by in his overbearingly alluring presence that seeks your own in the warmth of his skin that reaches longingly for you.
You can’t begin to rationalize how long he slides your wrist sinfully against him as he makes a point of trailing your radiocarpal joint over the vast expanse of muscles that line his neck as they all but jump at your touch as the sound that tumbles from his lips darkens impossibly more only to draw out a whine from you. Minutes or hours could have passed since this started, but you have no care in the world because of how caught you are under his simmering stare.
Once he’s secure in the knowledge that succulent scent of you has smeared him to the point of no return, that’s when he pulls your hand back until he holds it under your nostrils while his mouth waters at the delectable waft of you through his own that sets his very blood on fire.
His fingers sink wonderfully into your skin and it is positively unholy in how his heat permeates you until you’re filled gloriously with it he orders, “Go on now, my pretty omega.  Breathe me in until every last doubt is torn from you and all you can think about is me,” his breath is hot against your cheek as he inches impossibly closer in the need to be impossibly closer to you as you shakily exhale while he finishes, “Drink me in until this little body of yours is sated in the sweet recognition of the alpha that owns it.”
His words settle viscously over you and in the command of the alpha that you are helpless to resist with your omegean blood, you do. You did not want to fight this, did not want to fight him. It went against your baser instincts and nature to do so. It was all just your self-consciousness that had bound you back and away from him, but under his attention that does not waver in the imposing neediness of it that glints with a savage saturation dripping from his very being, you can’t withstand it. So, you obey.
 The change is immediate.
Upon the first whiff of him that drizzles up through your nostrils to trickle fluidly like that of a delicious philter through you, your every cell is flooded with stimulation that is guided by the heady essence that is decidedly and uniquely him. He tastes of newly dewed grasses that are accented by an earthly underlayer and somehow it is all bolstered by the overwhelmingly delicious amalgamation of blooming gardenia, black vanilla and freshly matured pear.
A sudden deposit of slick finds itself between your folds that glisten to life and it earns a sharp growl from him as he brings one lip between his teeth.
He reeks of pungently dangerous desire that beckons your very being and your eyes roll to the back of your head at in its insistent invitation as he fills you with his quintessence and soon your body can no longer bear your weight in the way that his strong incense curls around you to have your limbs grow weak under its inexorable consummation of you.
Your weakly whisper, “Alpha…my alpha,” the concession quick to run through your veins as you yield to him.
Your legs begin to tremble precariously with each breath you take in effort to collect as much of him as you can, the familiar smell exactly alike to that of the one belonging to the wolf from your dreams as understanding and recognition saturate your being.
“Omega,” Jungkook breathes, satisfaction washing over him as he watches your body react so affectedly to him.
And when your body is no longer able to bear your weight in how quickly the alpha has drawn away their strength through his own power, he is there.
At the same time that your head falls back and your sense of equilibrium leaves you through numbed legs, one of his large hands finds its place along your nape while one muscled arm wraps around your back to pull you against the built planes of an aureate chest as he croons, “My beautiful omega. You’ve acknowledged me at long last. Such a good girl for me, you are,” he angles his head low so that his heated breath once more billows against you, “I’m going to take you with me to the forest now, pretty. Once we’re there, you’re going to watch me shift so that I can hunt just for you. When I return,” his pink tongue darts outward to wet his lips as his gaze surges with hunger, “I expect my mate to be waiting for me before I let every wolf in this fucking compound know that you’re mine when I claim you at the ceremony tonight.”
Your breath stutters at that and when his arms dip to collect you like his bride as he tucks you against the muscled chest that you subconsciously lean into you in the safety that pours from him that your wolf relishes in. Through it all, you can only barely utter, “As you wish, alpha.”
As he holds you close, you nuzzle your alpha and there’s a high-pitched, satisfied purr that easily cascades through your throat in the warmth and security that his able body offers. You care not how far your song of satisfaction is carried in the winds that swell against you only to roll tauntingly over all the alphas in the distance that Jungkook is in charge of as the pack alpha’s son who is meant to one day lead the compound.
All that matters is that you’ve found your alpha and that he, in turn, has found you.
High in the sky, the moon hides behind the awakening sun as golden rays begin to filter searchingly through the thick underbrush of the forest lining the horizon as far as the eye can see.

Tear You To Pieces, Chapter 4
Tumblr media
The day that Kelly had been waiting for finally arrived just over a week later. She was finally recovered enough from the attack, aside from still a few bruises and superficial cuts.
Stark felt bad for not leaving protection with her on the jet. She kept telling him it was ok. Loki kept telling him he told him so and he was foolish for putting her in danger. Which wasn’t doing Loki any favours in getting in the Avengers good books.
Kelly so wanted to tell Maria that she had a date. But she needed to keep quiet, not wanting to upset Loki. He had asked her not to tell anyone, so she wasn’t going to break her promise to him.
So she got ready on her own, after making an excuse to the others that she was feeling a bit iffy so wanted an early night. Once she was dressed and had her hair and make-up sorted, she sneaked out of her room and made her way down to the back entrance to meet Loki.
He was already there waiting for her. Her heart beat quickened when she saw him. He was so handsome, wearing a suit, black trousers and jacket with a white shirt and a black tie. It wasn’t often he wore mortal clothes but when he did, it was always with such style.
Loki’s smile grew larger as he looked Kelly up and down. She was deliberately wearing a green dress underneath her leather jacket. Her pulse quickened at the look in Loki’s eyes as she approached him.
‘Why, you look absolutely ravishing, my dear.’ Loki purred and picked up her hand to kiss the back of it politely, making her blush.
‘Thank you. You look really handsome.’ She said shyly.
‘Thank you, pet. Had to look my best for you.’ He winked at her, then he offered her his arm and she accepted, slipping her hand around his arm he led her out of the building to an awaiting taxi.
On the drive to the restaurant Loki had picked, casual chat had Kelly at much more ease and she actually forgot she was on a date with the God of lies and mischief, an ex-villain. She felt so relaxed and comfortable around him.
Loki hopped out of the taxi first and rushed round the car to open her door for her when they arrived. He helped her out too, then slipped his arm around her and they headed inside. He’d booked a nice table by the window at the back, looking out to a nice garden.
‘This is so lovely. Thank you, Loki.’ Kelly smiled as she sat down, Loki of course tucked her chair in for her after helping her with her jacket.
‘I only wish I had asked you out sooner.’ Loki said sheepishly.
They got some wine over to the table, then ordered their food. Kelly just hoped she would actually be able to eat something, she felt so nervous and excited, her stomach was all over the place. But the wine did help to settle her a bit.
‘I must ask, are you wearing my colours on purpose or is it a happy coincidence?’ Loki asked, smirking.
Kelly looked like a deer caught in the headlights. ‘Uhm… I… on purpose.’ She said shyly, downing a big gulp of wine.
Loki chuckled. ‘Well, I am honoured.’
Loki asked about Kelly’s life, about her upbringing. He shared a little of himself too, about growing up on Asgard with Thor. She was glad he was opening up to her.
‘Did you tell anyone about our date?’ Loki asked in the middle of their meal.
‘No, I didn’t. I wanted to tell Maria, but I kept quiet.’ Kelly said honestly.
Loki nodded and looked at her warmly. ‘Good girl. It’s for the best.’
Kelly’s face went bright red as she suddenly became very flustered. She quickly reached for her wine and took a few sips to try and hide her face. Loki was a little confused at first, but then it clicked.
Good girl… She had a praise kink? He was sure of it.
Grinning slightly while he kept on eating, not wanting to make a big deal of it and spook her, he noted that information away in his mind. That could come in very handy indeed.
Luckily for Kelly, he changed the subject swiftly. Saving her from further embarrassment.
‘Have you had many boyfriends?’ Loki asked. She was a lovely woman, for a mortal. He was surprised she didn’t have a boyfriend currently.
‘I’ve dated a few people over the years, but nothing ever became… official.’ She shrugged after wiping her mouth with her napkin. She had managed to eat more than she thought she would, luckily.
‘I’m surprised no one has snatched you up yet. You’re a wonderful woman, Kelly.’ Loki said, making her smile giddily.
‘I just… I get attached quite easily. I uhm, I learned my lesson from the first guy I dated four years ago. He hurt me pretty bad, so I am trying not to fall so hard so quickly. It’s made me a little more guarded.’
Loki nodded in understanding. ‘I’m sorry to hear that, darling. Love and trust are such fragile things, not something to be taken for granted. I know it has to be earned. Hopefully, I can prove that I might be worthy of at least your time, perhaps more.’
Kelly’s heart melted completely at his words.
He was such a sweet talker. His silver tongue one of his best abilities and one he was always very much thankful for. One that couldn’t be taken away from him.
They didn’t leave straight after finishing their meal. They had a few more glasses of wine first, Kelly was happily tipsy. Loki barely even felt tipsy, mortal alcohol didn’t affect him in the same way. He would need to drink a few bottles of wine before even feeling slightly tipsy.
After the meal when they were ready to leave, there was a car waiting outside to take them home. Loki opened the door for Kelly and helped her in, then he sat in the middle seat so he could be right next to her, their thighs pressed together, making her blush.
Loki turned more towards her on the drive home and he stroked her cheek softly with the back of his hand. ‘You are so beautiful.’ He hummed.
Kelly smiled shyly as he slid his hand down and gently held her chin.
He licked his lips a little as he leaned in, but he paused a moment and looked deep into her eyes. ‘May I kiss you, darling?’ He asked so sweetly.
Kelly felt her heart swelling that he was so sweetly asking permission just to kiss her.
‘Of course! I mean, yes… yes.’ She blushed hard, trying not to seem too over eager. But Loki didn’t seem to mind as he grinned and closed the distance to plant his lips upon hers, his hand slid round to the back of her head to hold her closely. Not that she would want to move away from him, anyway.
She felt like time had stopped as he kissed her gently, his lips were so soft and cool against her. He moved them slowly, moulding with hers. Her entire world was turned upside down, she had dreamed of kissing him for so long now, she never thought it would actually happen. But now it was, it was even better than she had imagined.
Kelly could only hope it was the start of many.
-
Later that night, Loki decided to pay her another visit in the middle of the night.
She was sound asleep when he manifested in her room. He was silent as he slowly walked towards her sleeping form in bed. It was quite warm so she had the blanket thrown off her, wearing nothing but a night gown and knickers.
He smirked as he reached the side of her bed. He leaned over her and pressed his palm to her forehead, seeping into her dreams. It was easy, considering Loki was already someone she dreamt and thought about a lot. He wasn’t surprised to find some rather naughty dreams and fantasies about him in her mind.
Using that to his advantage, he manipulated her mind. Making sure she would remain asleep, but also so he could have some form of control over her dreams.
She parted her lips and whispered out his name. That’s when he moved his hand down underneath her night gown and he stroked softly over her abdomen before moving downwards into her knickers. She squirmed a little in her sleep, whimpering softly when his large hand just cupped her at first.
Loki kept his movements steady and careful. He knew his powers weren’t as strong as they should be, so he didn’t want to make a mistake.
Going slow, he slid his fingers through her folds and had to bite back a growl when he discovered she was already getting aroused. Using that to his advantage, he trailed some wetness up over her clit and rubbed it in circles. She started moaning more in her sleep, calling out his name again too.
This is far too easy. Loki thought with a wicked grin as he used his thumb on her clit and began inserting a single finger into her. But he was met with quite a bit of resistance at first, until he managed to ease his way into her with more stimulation on her clit.
‘How interesting.’ He whispered, his cock hardening in his trousers at the realisation she was still a virgin. She was so impossibly tight, even around his slender finger.
She squirmed a little, frowning. ‘No, please… feels weird.’ She whined.
Loki rubbed her clit firmer, while wiggling his finger inside her. Whilst it felt weird for her, he could feel her clamping around his digit in arousal. But her movements were becoming a bit more insistent.
Then her eyes suddenly flew open, but Loki had been able to vanish just a mere second before that. He cursed himself for not being able to hold his powers better, he really needed to get them back properly.
Kelly was breathing hard and a bit sweaty as she turned her light on. She had been so sure that someone, Loki, had actually been there and was touching her. But there was no sign of him at all. And her door was locked, so she knew it couldn’t have been him.
‘That was some vivid dream.’ She muttered to herself and wiped her sweaty brow with the back of her hand.
Even though she felt aroused and uncomfortable between her thighs, she kept telling herself she had just dreamt it. Though it took her heart a while to stop racing.

Soulmate AU part 3: The teenagers slowly become adults;
Leon is endlessly proud of his kids (he’s long accepted that he’s a dad of three unruly teenagers now, and shares custody with Gwen and Hunith, the only other sensible ones), and Morgana and Merlin are abruptly made aware of their new... role(s).
Part 1   Part 2 Part 4
All of their birthdays pass in the next few months. Of course, Arthur’s and Morgana’s come with big celebrations, insisted on by Uther (I mean... Morgana had just come of age, and Arthur was the Prince, can you blame him?), but the gang put on mini celebrations just for them in the evenings.
Everyone got everyone gifts, and they spent as much time together during the birthdays as they could, even Gaius and Hunith joining them when they had time.
Leon was quickly climbing the ranks within the Knights, and was the youngest to be granted the title of captain at just 23, which gave him little more control over his own schedule. He worked incredibly hard, was a good teacher, and never took advantage of his post, so his fellow knights didn’t mind so much when he gave himself the occasional day off, for his kid’s birthdays.
The other knights had definitely picked up an Leon’s... older brother instincts when it came to The Prince, The Ward, The Servant, and The Physician’s Apprentice, and ribbed him mercilessly for it, but he didn’t really mind too much. Said kids certainly found it hilarious.
Morgana coming of age also meant an influx of potential courters, both foreign royalty and local nobility.
Much to Uther’s annoyance, she rejected every single one before even meeting them, insisting that she would marry for love, not because some old man wanted to suck up to The King.
It didn’t take long for him to give up on finding her a suitor to be honest. She wasn’t heir to the throne, so it wasn’t too important, and he knew how stubborn she was; the more he tries to set her up, the more she’ll resist.
Merlin’s sixteenth birthday came a few weeks after Arthur’s seventeenth, and Uther begrudgingly gave Morgana and Arthur a day off from lessons and meetings. Frankly, he knew there would be no point in trying to enforce anything, they would just ignore him and sneak out to see the boy anyway.
~
A couple months after Arthur’s seventeenth birthday, it came time for his official Knighting (he talked about it endlessly when it happened, being one of the youngest to ever be officially knighted, most aren’t knighted until they’re closer to 21. Leon had been very young as well, at only 19).
Much to Uther’s chagrin, Arthur and Morgana insisted that Hunith and Merlin have a front row seats.
He gave in eventually, after Arthur threatened to not turn up to his own ceremony, and Morgana pointed out that the only people in attendance would already know about the whole soulmate thing.
It was a momentous occasion, that involved huge public celebrations (which Arthur and Morgana, of course, snuck out of the castle to join in on, with Gwen and Merlin), and a large feast in the evening.
Hunith finally got a chance to wear one of her nicest dresses, and Arthur even managed to wrangle Merlin into some smart clothes (just a touch of red and gold, to subtly compliment what the Prince was wearing, of course).
Though Uther did insist on having them introduced as “Family of the Court Physician” to anyone who asked, which annoyed Arthur to no end. But he’d agreed to not go public until he turned 18, so he was just going to have to put up with it.
They had a great time, and even Uther loosened up a bit once he’d had a little to drink. He still avoided Hunith and Merlin like the plague, but did get tipsy enough to clap Arthur on the back, and tell him he was proud “Of both your achievement today, and the happiness you found with your soulmate.” which Arthur definitely did NOT tear up at, thank you very much Morgana, and which Uther will deny happened until the day he dies.
Despite having to hide their respective soulmates, the gang had fun. Once the food and tables where cleared away to make way for music and dancing, things livened up a great deal.
Morgana dragged Merlin to dance, despite his insistence that he didn’t know how. Arthur, Gwen, Leon, Hunith, and Gaius watched on in amusement as Morgana tried to teach him the steps in the middle of the floor, no one in the hall daring to complain (she was the King’s Ward, after all).
Morgana made her way through the group, insisting that Arthur danced with her next, then Leon, and then, much to Uther’s annoyance, Gwen and Hunith.
Everyone soon forgot about their worries, maybe it was inappropriate for commoners and servants to mix with royalty and knights, but this celebration was for Arthur, he could bloody well do what he wanted.
Thankfully, by the time Morgana managed to force Arthur and Merlin on the dancefloor together, everyone else in the room was too drunk, and too wrapped up in their own dance partners, to notice The Prince dancing with the Physician’s Apprentice.
Overall, despite the stress of feeling like Uther was glaring a hole in the back of all of their heads, they enjoyed the night. Hunith and Merlin felt, even though it was obviously much fancier, the celebrations were similar to the ones they had back in their little village.
They had greatly missed the Yule celebration that had undoubtedly happened at the end of last year in Ealdor, but this more than made up for it, and by the end of the night, their spirits were lifted, so much so that they weren’t nearly as homesick as they used to be.
~
It was just days after the celebrations, that Arthur and Merlin (choosing to sleep in Merlin’s bed tonight, so they could have breakfast with Hunith the next morning) woke with a start to the sound of frantic banging on the front door. It was very late, still hours before sunrise.
Arthur woke immediately, his instincts kicking in as he grabbed his hidden sword and made his way out of the bedroom before he was even fully aware of himself. Merlin woke up a little slower, but still grabbed his own sword and crept out of the room after Arthur, meeting a worried Hunith in the corridor.
Arthur gestured at them to be quiet and raised his sword a little higher as the banging started again.
Merlin ignored him however, as he widened his (now golden) eyes and dropped his sword. He rushed to open the door before Arthur could stop him, only to find a distraught Morgana shivering on the front step.
She was still wearing sleep clothes, with a cloak and shoes hastily thrown on. He eyes were red and she had tear tracks down her face, her hair a mess.
The moment Merlin threw open the door, Morgana falls forward into his arms, the Warlock only just managing to catch her as she begins crying again.
It takes Arthur a moment to recover form his shock, but he quickly gathers his and Merlin’s swords, dropping them on a side table, before mouthing “tea?” to Hunith and stepping towards his soulmate and his sister.
Hunith nods slightly, and with one last worried look to the girl who had become like a daughter to her, she busies herself in the kitchen; lighting the fire, boiling some water, and gathering together some tea leaves, the type that help with sleep.
Arthur manages to pull the other two inside, so he could shut the door, and he guides them to the living room. Merlin settles in a large, soft armchair, and Morgana follows closely, falling into his lap and continuing to cry into his shoulder, clutching desperately at his sleep tunic.
Arthur sits himself on the armrest, and Morgana gropes blindly for his hand, which he quickly takes, before looking to Merlin and raising a worried eyebrow.
Merlin just shakes his head in confusion. Morgana hadn’t said anything yet, just cried, and he had no idea what could’ve brought on such hysterics so suddenly in someone who was usually so calm.
He wipes all thoughts of his own nightmares from his mind as he strokes Morgana’s hair and whispers gentle words to her. She finally calms down a little as Hunith walks in with four cups of tea, and Merlin asks quietly:
“Would you like Gwen? She only lives a few streets away, Arthur could fetch her and be back in only a few minutes.” Arthur gets up, moving to put on shoes and a cloak, but Morgana croaks out a desperate:
“NO! No, I don’t want to worry her.”
She goes to stand up, but Merlin pulls her back down, settling her comfortably in his lap, as she fiddles with her hands and refuses to meet anyone’s eyes.
Merlin just frowns, still stroking her back, and Arthur speaks up quietly:
“What’s wrong ‘Gana? Are you hurt?”
Morgana shakes her head and looks up at Arthur, then Hunith, before finally looking back at Merlin. She gulps before she begins to speak:
“I... I had a nightmare-”
Merlin gives her a sad smile, knowing how terrifyingly disorienting they can be, but before he can say anything, Morgana continues:
“-but not a normal one. I’ve always suffered with night terrors, and Gaius makes me sleeping draughts but they never work. This one was so vivid. Like it was real.-”
She looks down to her lap, and Merlin begins to frown again as she continues:
“-I never really noticed before, or I just wrote it off as coincidence, but all of my dreams... they come true. And this one...”
Arthur speaks up as she trails off:
“Are you sure, Morgana? Maybe you just got a little muddled up, perhaps you dreamt about them after, and got confused?-”
Morgana looks up sharply, somehow still managing to look a little intimidating despite the messy hair and tears:
"Do you remember when you got caught by that mace during training last week?-”
Arthur frowns slightly, nodding as he rolls his shoulder automatically, still feeling a dull ache:
“-well the night before, I dreamt about it, that’s why I came to watch that morning. I just wrote it off because in my dream, it was Leon that hit you, not Sir Kay, but that was the only difference. Even the bruise looked exactly the same.-”
The other three look surprised, but before they can say anything she gulps and continues:
“And when we got attacked by those bandits? I dreamt about that a few days prior. In my dream, Leon was with us as well, and there were three more attackers, but again, other than the slight difference, everything was the same. Even how Merlin ended the fight, and the memory charm.”
Arthur collapses in the chair behind him, looking thoughtful, and slightly worried, as Merlin breaks himself out of his train of thought:
“Why didn’t you say anything?”
Morgana bites her lip, before saying timidly:
“I almost did, but I just thought I was being paranoid; seeing connections where there weren’t any. But tonight...”
Arthur looks up sharply, frowning (not accusingly, just... worryingly) as he says:
“What was your nightmare about ‘Gana? I’ve never seen you this scared before.”
She looks up and meets his gaze, tears gathering in her eyes again:
“We were in a cave, me and Merlin. It was dark, and we were... not quite scared, but confused. And then a dragon appeared, huge, angry. It spoke, I couldn’t understand it, but Merlin obviously could, and they talked for a while. Merlin got angry, and then the dragon looked at me, and reared up and started spitting fire. I woke up just before... just before it burned me. I snuck past the guards and came straight here.-”
She looked to her lap again, before mumbling:
“Honestly, I didn’t even know you were here, I just wanted to see Merlin, because he was in it.”
Merlin pulls her close again, and she settles with her head in the crook of his neck as he strokes her hair, worrying his lip at her description of the night terror.
Hunith looked worried, and Arthur was deep in thought for a few minutes, before speaking up again:
“I suppose you two just... stay away from big caves? And if you find one somehow, come find me, and Leon would probably be good as well, and we’ll see what’s going on, together.”
Morgana looks up at him through her lashes, and mumbles:
“It felt... evil. Not the dragon or the place, but... me. Like it was justified in attacking me, like I wasn’t supposed to be there.”
Merlin tightens his hold on her, and his eyes flash gold as he grinds out:
“ ‘Gana, anything that tries to hurt you, will have to go through me first, dragon or otherwise.”
Arthur smiles comfortingly as he says:
“Exactly. As if I would ever let the two of you explore a dragon’s cave without me anyway.”
She looks up as she laughs, just a little, and Hunith speaks for the first time since Morgana had appeared:
“Would you like to stay here for the rest of the night? I can move in here and you can take my bed.”
Merlin shakes his head:
“No, she can stay with Arthur and I, the bed is big enough for the three of us. That way we can wake her up if she gets any more nightmares.”
Arthur nods and pats Morgana’s shoulder before going to their bedroom. He lights a candle, pulls the covers back, and places the swords back in their hiding places.
Morgana sits up straight and looks down at Merlin:
“Are you sure? I can make my way back to the castle easily enough.”
Merlin shakes her head, smiling at her:
“No, it’s fine. I’d prefer you to stay with us anyway. We can talk to Gaius tomorrow about the dreams. I was born with magic remember, it’s not impossible for it to have happened to you as well, we’ll just have to be careful, ok? Everything will be fine, ‘Gana, promise.”
Morgana smiles, and wipes her eyes as she stands up. She gives Hunith a quick hug, thanking her for the tea as she picks up her an Arthur’s cup. She follows Arthur into the bedroom, and Merlin gives his mother a worried look, before grabbing his own cup and saying goodnight, telling her quietly:
“Make sure your door is shut. Hopefully she won’t have anymore nightmares tonight, but I have a feeling she’ll wake up loudly if she does.”
Hunith nods, before whispering:
“Do you think she’s right? Is she some sort of... seer?”
Merlin sighs, looking towards the bedroom, before looking back and replying:
“I don’t know. Maybe. I’ve never exactly met any other magic-users, I only have Gaius and my own experiences to go off.”
Hunith nods, and the two separate, heading to their own rooms and shutting the doors behind them.
Arthur and Morgana were already settled, having finished their tea. Arthur was back where he was earlier, and Morgana sat in the middle of the bed, her head resting on his shoulder.
Merlin walks around to sit on Morgana’s other side, abandoning his undrunk tea in favour of laying straight down. Morgana and Arthur follow him, and Morgana turns over, curling up under Merlin’s arm, and whispering a quiet, teary “thank you”.
Arthur settles an arm over Morgana’s back, his hand intertwining with Merlin’s on the pillow, and Merlin’s other arm settles over her waist, holding her close.
The boys share a worried look, before closing their eyes. They fall into a shallow sleep, prepared to jump awake at even a twitch from Morgana, determined to keep her safe.
~
Morgana wakes the next morning having slept surprisingly well through the rest of the night.
Merlin is sitting up next to her, one hand protectively splayed on her back, the other holding a book in his lap. She can hear people bustling around in the next room, and she can see the sun start to peak through the curtains.
Merlin looks down at her when he feels her wake, and puts a finger to his lips, before whispering:
“Gwen and Leon arrived earlier to join us for breakfast, we haven’t told them you’re here.-”
Morgana frowns in confusion as she sits up, and Merlin continues:
“-I think you should tell them what happened, they can help, like they helped me, but we still thought it should be your choice. You can sneak out the widow and head up to the castle if you want?”
Morgana shakes her head, and murmurs:
“No, you’re right. They should know, I don’t like keeping things from Gwen, and Leon can always tell when we lie, anyway.” She says the last bit with a weak smirk, and Merlin chuckles:
“Come on then, I think breakfast is almost ready. Plus, some of us have semi full days today, so we should get going before we all start running late.”
Morgana nods, and moves to stand in front of the mirror, grimacing before trying to straighten her hair a little, and washing her face in the fresh wash-bowl.
Merlin chuckles a little before following her up, and throwing a jacket on over his sleep clothes. He waits for Morgana to finish, and allows her to nervously take his hand as they exit the room.
It takes a few moments for anyone to notice them when they first enter the kitchen, Arthur and Hunith cooking, whilst Gwen and Leon play cards at the table.
Arthur is the first to notice, and gives Morgana a smile, before looking to Merlin with a raised eyebrow, meaning “the truth?”. Merlin answers with a small nod, and Arthur smiles again, before saying loudly:
“Morning, you two certainly slept in, didn’t you?”
Everyone looks up at that, Hunith briefly smiling before going back to the food, and Gwen and Leon widening their eyes in surprise. Gwen jumps up to give Morgana a hug, which she enthusiastically returns:
“ ‘Gana! I thought I felt you close, what are you doing here? Did you stay the night?” There’s no accusation in her tone, just concern, and Morgana gives her a brief smile before nodding, and saying:
“It’s... a long story. Let’s sit, we can tell the both of you.”
Leon packs the cards away, and moves up the bench so Merlin can settle next to him, Gwen and Morgana opposite them, and Arthur and Hunith hurriedly serve up food before sitting down at the ends of the table.
Morgana explains timidly what had happened just a few hours previously, and Gwen grabs her hand as she describes the feeling of being deserving of the flames.
(The way she words the sentence does make Merlin tense slightly, but only Arthur notices, and he squeezes Merlin’s knee under the table.)
Leon listens intently, and when she’s finished, he leans across the table to clutch her hand briefly before looking to Merlin:
“Is that possible? Could she be some sort of seer? I know there are lots of them among the druids, but I’ve never actually met one.”
Merlin shrugs slightly, and replies:
“I’m not sure, it’s possible. We were going to talk to Gaius, he knows more about this sort of thing than me.”
Gwen and Leon nod, and Hunith speaks up:
“Me and Arthur are busy today, and I’m assuming you are as well, Leon?-”
He nods, though reluctantly:
“-But why don’t you two go with Merlin to see Gaius? He’ll probably be more able to understand if you can explain it directly to him.”
Morgana looks a little tense at having to explain it for a third time, but Gwen nods her head:
“That sounds like a good idea, maybe we could... get into contact with some druids somehow? If they do have seers, they might be able to help.”
Leon looks troubled at that, but Arthur speaks up first:
“That could work, but only if we absolutely have to. I don’t want to put them in any unnecessary danger, by potentially exposing them. Plus it would be a long journey, we’d have to come up with excuses. I don’t think my father would accept any reason we gave for needing a few days off to leave the kingdom.”
The others nod in agreement, Morgana looking even more worried, but Hunith sees her expression and speaks quietly:
“I’m sure that won’t be necessary. Gaius knows a great many things, and if not, I’m sure we can figure it out ourselves.”
Morgana smiles at her gratefully, and with that, the conversation comes to an easy end.
After they clean up, and a round of goodbyes is had, Hunith rushes off to the tailor’s, and Arthur and Leon reluctantly head back up to the castle.
Morgana wraps herself in a cloak, with the hood up, and Merlin quickly gets dressed. In the end, they had decided that Gwen and Morgana would head to Morgana’s chambers, so she could get washed and changed and run a brush through her hair, and Merlin would head straight to the Physician’s chambers, and explain the situation to Gaius.
He was indeed troubled, when Merlin explained what had happened, in as much detail as possible to stop his best friend from having to recount it again.
He knew of her nightmares, and had been making sleeping draughts for her for years, but she had never talked about the similarities to real life events before.
Gaius mentions not knowing much of her heritage, passed her parents and grandparents, but even if it wasn’t an inherited gift, it’s possible for the occasional, naturally magical child to be born. As proven by Merlin.
Morgana and Gwen arrive shortly after, and Gaius gives the King’s Ward a comforting pat on the shoulder, before saying quietly:
“Merlin has explained what has happened, it does sound potentially magical, but beyond that, I’m afraid I can’t be of more help. I think the Prince’s suggestion of just being careful where you go is currently the best course of action. Might I also suggest that you stop taking sleeping draughts for a while? It might be that they are interfering with the process, making them more or less vivid, accurate.”
Morgana looks a little scared at that, but Gwen squeezes her hand and Merlin speaks up:
“That might be a good idea, it’ll be easier to figure out exactly what we’re dealing with if there isn’t any interference.”
Merlin’s confirmation gives Morgana a little more confidence, and she nods firmly. She’s never run away from things before, she’s not going to start now, especially when she has her soulmate, best friend, brother, and knight in shining armour beside her.
Merlin gives her a smile, and Gaius gives him the day off, encouraging the three of them to take the day to relax, and recover from last night’s ordeal. Merlin gives his mentor a grateful smile, and takes Morgana’s other hand, dragging the girls out the door, before saying with a cheerful grin:
“Fancy going to watch Arthur get his arse handed to him on a silver platter during training?”
~
During everyone’s lunch break, they explained the plan... or lack thereof.
Leon was a little... tense, at the idea of stopping the sleeping draughts and just seeing what happens, but in the grand scheme of things, there weren’t any other options.
A few days passed, getting less and less tense as each sun rose and set. Morgana slept peacefully, no more nightmares or... visions. It was still a worry in the back of all their minds, but it was no longer a pressing issue that they lost sleep over.
Until the fourth day.
It had been exactly a year since Hunith and Merlin had moved to Camelot, and they were having a mini, evening celebration at the house, with the whole gang there.
Morgana had gone into the garden to cool off a bit (seven people all in one small room at the beginning of summer... yeah it got pretty hot, pretty quick).
Merlin joined her and they chatted quietly, reminiscing about all the ridiculous things they had gotten up to in just one year, laughing about how many grey hairs they had given Leon.
The conversation halted when Merlin straightened his back, and took in a gasp at a voice echoing through his head:
“Emrys...”
Morgana frowns at Merlin’s sudden reaction to seemingly nothing:
“Birdy, what’s wrong?”
Merlin looks at her in surprise:
“Did you not hear that?-”
“Emrys!”
He gasped, and took a step away from the house, peering into the dark:
“There it was again, can you not hear it? Who is that?”
Morgana looks troubled, and takes Merlin’s shoulder, pulling him round to look at her:
“Merlin there’s... no one there. I didn’t hear anything. Are you alright?”
Merlin looks at her, confused, but tenses, and whips his head around again when the voice echoes again:
“Come and find me, Warlock, I’m waiting. Come alone.”
Morgana calls desperately for Arthur, but Merlin pays her no mind as his eyes strain to see something that isn’t there. After only a second the Prince appeared with a pop by Merlin’s side:
“Merlin, what’s wrong?”
Merlin doesn’t answer him, and he looks to Morgana, worried. She has the same troubled expression on her face as she replies:
“I don’t know, he keeps hearing something that isn’t there.”
Arthur looks back to Merlin, and shakes his shoulder roughly, finally getting his attention:
“Merls?”
Just then, the others walk out of the house, looking worried at Morgana’s scared call, and Arthur’s sudden disappearance. Merlin looks over the group, before glancing once more out into the dark street, before looking back to Arthur:
“It’s a voice, someone’s calling for me. They’re calling me the wrong name but... they’re definitely calling for me.”
Everyone looks troubled at that, and Merlin shakes his head when Gaius asks if he recognises the voice.
Leon lifts his head in sudden thought before speaking hurriedly to Morgana:
“In the dream, you said Merlin and the dragon spoke to each other, but you couldn’t understand them, right?-”
Morgana gives a nervous nod, and the group looks to him, confused, as he speaks again:
“Well, maybe it’s... like that. Maybe that’s how you and Merlin find the cave, you follow the voice.-”
The others look doubtful, but he continues anyway:
“I know it’s far fetched, but how else were the two of you just going to stumble upon a cave big enough to hold a dragon?”
Arthur nods at that, mumbling that it makes sense, and Morgana looks scared. Gwen grabs her hand, and Gaius and Hunith look to each other nervously.
No on really knows what to say, but they all look to Merlin as he groans, bringing a hand up to his forehead, as the voice echoes louder:
“HURRY Warlock, I find myself running low on patience this night.”
Arthur pulls him close, and Gwen takes his other hand, Merlin mumbles:
“Whatever it is, it’s telling me to go find him, alone. I have a feeling he’s not going to stop until I go.”
Leon scoffs before saying:
“Like hell are we letting you go alone, but we should see what this is all about. Lead the way, Birdy.”
Arthur steps back and tells everyone to wait a minute, before popping away. He reappears moments later with his and Merlin’s swords, and three spares, for Gwen, Morgana, and Leon.
Leon just raises an eyebrow, taking the offered sword, and Arthur shrugs:
“Pays to be prepared. There are at least two more still in the house-”
He looks to Gaius and Hunith:
“You two wait here, we’ll try not to do anything too stupid.”
They both look worried at that, but Arthur rolls his eyes, and says:
“Leon and Gwen will be with us.”
At that, Gaius and Hunith relax slightly, which everyone would find hilarious if they weren’t focusing on bigger things.
Arthur turns back to Merlin, taking his hand, and gesturing him to lead the way.
The Warlock leads them up the main road, towards the castle gates. The others are confused at that, they had expected him to start walking out of the city, towards the wilderness, not further in.
They follow him though, getting tenser and tenser, as he allows his feet to carry him through the castle, going further and further down. Towards the dungeons.
They duck out of the way when people pass, and thankfully manage to avoid being seen by everyone. No one notices them even as they move through the dungeons to a hidden, back staircase that falls deeper and deeper into the earth.
All of them frown at this, none of them had been aware of this section of the castle, all having thought the dungeons were the lowest level.
They reach the bottom, seeing a great metal gate in front of them, that opens to a large cave. Morgana gasps, and mumbles that this is the cave from her dream as she grips Gwen’s hand tighter.
Leon takes a deep breath, before stepping in front of the group, and walking slowly forward, pushing the gate open easily, and stepping into the cave, sword raised in defence.
Arthur and Merlin follow quickly, Gwen after them, holding a fearful Morgana behind her protectively.
They gather on a ledge, staring in wonder and fear at the huge cavern that stretches out in every direction. After just a moment, a deafening roar echoes from somewhere near the roof, and the group collectively gasp before huddling closer together.
That is, apart from Merlin, who steps forward, a frown on his face as he yells:
“Like hell I was coming alone. What is this?”
With that, a blizzard like wind whips through the cavern, and everyone takes a step back, looking fearfully up at the giant dragon that descends from above.
Merlin holds his ground, automatically gripping his sword tighter, as the beast lands in front of him, gazing at him impassively.
Arthur speaks up loudly, but his voice shakes as he says:
“Merlin... step back... come here. Please.”
Merlin doesn’t move, but the dragon absentmindedly moves his gaze to the group, making direct eye contact with Arthur before tilting his head downwards, slightly reminiscent of a bow, before looking back to Merlin.
The group moves slowly towards Merlin, unprepared to leave him alone, and the dragon grumbles again, in a language that Merlin doesn’t realise isn’t even English:
“I let you have your year of fun. Now you must grow up, and learn of your destiny. There are bigger things in motion that you could ever hope to imagine.”
Merlin frowns, and the group looks to him in confusion as he replies:
“You let me? What does that even mean? And how did you call me down here? What destiny? And my name isn’t Emrys or whatever, it’s Merlin, always has been.”
The dragon narrows his eyes, before replying, the deep rumble of his growling unnerving to those who can’t understand him:
“So many questions. You are the great Warlock, known as Emrys, the most powerful magic-user to walk the earth. Arthur is the Once and Future King, destined to unite Albion.”
Merlin tilts his head in confusion:
“...right.”
The great dragon appears to huff in frustration, before continuing:
“He will face many threats. It is your destiny to protect, and guide him on his way to unite the land, and bring magic back into balance.”
Merlin furrows his eyebrows. He was already sort of expecting the whole “bringing magic back” thing, but the official “destiny” thing is definitely news to him:
“And how do you know all of this?”
Kilgharrah takes a great step back, ignoring his question, once more looking over the group stood just behind Merlin. His nostrils flare, smoke swirling out as he huffs, and narrows his eyes:
“You should not have brought the witch. In another life, she was destined to become a monster, the hatred to your love, the darkness to your light. The risk is too high, she must be destroyed, before she falls once more.”
He rears up, and takes a deep breath as Morgana stumbles back fearfully, the group gathering around her protectively. Merlin rushes back, standing between the dragon and the group before he can exhale. He falls back down onto his front claws and growls, but Merlin shouts before he can say anything:
“NO! You want to hurt ‘Gana, you’ll have to kill me, and I suspect your precious Once and Future King, first.”
With that, Arthur steps further forward, to be in line with Merlin, and the dragon turns angrily, whipping his tail to the floor with a bang, before turning back and glaring at him:
“Her destiny is inevitable, none of us choose our destiny, and none of us can escape it. She must be destroyed before it’s too-”
Merlin interrupts him:
“I don’t give a FUCK about your destiny. No one’s future is set in stone, and I will never let you hurt her, especially not for something she hasn’t even done yet.”
The dragon growls once again, before leaning close to Merlin, he speaks in English this time, so the group can understand, his voice deep and gravelly, filled with anger:
“On your head be it, or more likely, your precious soulmate’s head.”
With that, he gestures a giant claw briefly at Arthur, before flying off once again, disappearing into the shadows of the cavern.
Merlin blinks a few times, and the anger on his face fades to confusion as he looks back to Morgana, gazing at her assessingly.
She looks terrified, and gulps before saying:
“What is it, what did he say?”
Merlin shakes his head roughly, and walks forward, gathering her in a hug, before pulling back, his hands still on her shoulders. He gives her a small smile before looking to the others:
“Let’s get back to Hunith and Gaius, we don’t want to be gone too long. I’ll explain as best I can when we get back-”
He lets go of Morgana and shrugs briefly:
“-though to be honest, I’m not sure even I fully understand.”
With that, he leads the group out of the cavern, holding Morgana’s hand tightly, and refusing to look back.
Leon and Arthur bring up the rear, and they quickly find themselves back at the house, having made the whole journey in silence.
Hunith and Gaius hurriedly stand and look nervously to the group as they re-enter the house, and grimly settle around the kitchen table without a word.
Merlin and Arthur look stuck deep in thought, and Morgana quietly sniffles whilst Gwen comforts her, so Hunith and Gaius look to Leon for explanation.
He bites his lip and takes a deep breath, before beginning to explain:
“Well... we found the dragon.-”
Gaius gasps at that, and Hunith frowns, worrying her lip between her teeth:
“-Though none of us but Merlin could understand what he was saying. Something about destiny, and Kings, from what we could hear Merlin saying. It wanted to hurt Morgana, and got angry when Merlin and Arthur stepped in the way. Then it... flew off I guess, and we came back here.”
The others, apart from Merlin, had started to pay attention as Leon explained, and when he was finished, everyone looked to the young Warlock.
He still had a deep frown on his face, and was sat exceptionally still, staring at his hands folded on the table.
Morgana gulps and takes his hand, shocking him out of his internal deliberation:
“Merlin, why did it attack me? What did it say about me?”
Merlin takes a deep breath, and stares at her, a slight frown on his face as he noticed the reappearance of tears.
He pursed his lips, trying to decide what to tell her. Risk terrifying her even more, by telling the full truth, but being able to work together to combat it? OR, only tell part of the truth, lie, and save her from the heartbreak, trying to help her avoid her so called destiny from the side-lines?
He clenched his jaw, before giving her a small smile and looking around at his family; the decision was much easier than he first thought:
“He told me about our... destinies. Apparently my real name is Emrys, and I’m a powerful Warlock, destined to help Arthur become The Once and Future King, whatever that means, so he can unite all of Albion, and bring magic back into balance.-”
The others frown in confusion at this, and he looks back at Morgana, squeezing her hand once more before continuing:
“-He said that... in another life, Morgana was destined to become a monster, to fight against mine and Arthur’s destiny-”
Morgana let out a breath at that, and a few more tears fell as everyone else around the table tenses at the accusation:
“-he said that the risk of it happening again, in this life, was too high, and she had to be... destroyed, before she got in the way.-”
Arthur stands abruptly in anger at that, and Leon has to put a hand on his shoulder to calm him before he started angrily yelling. Merlin gave Morgana a reassuring smile before saying:
“-I, of course, told him to fuck off, that he would have to go through me before I let him punish you for something you hadn’t done, and have no intention of doing.”
Morgana shakes her head quickly, like she feels the need to convince her family that she isn’t some sort of beast (that breaks all of their hearts a little bit), before putting her hands over her mouth, and tightly closing her eyes.
Merlin stands and quickly walks to the other side of the table, pulling Morgana up and gathering her in a tight hug. He blinks away the tears in his eyes at her distress, and pointedly ignores the painful stares of everyone else in the room.
Gwen puts a comforting hand on Morgana’s shoulder blade, as she once again finds herself crying into Merlin’s shoulder.
The Warlock tries not to sound angry (he feels the urge to go back down those steps and yell at the bastard, but he figured that probably wasn’t such a good idea) as he murmurs comfortingly to her:
“Don’t you worry ‘Gana, you’ll never be a monster, not to us. Pre-written destiny is a load of crap, our lives are whatever we make of them, dig your own path. I’ve got you, and I’m never letting go. You aren’t alone.”
She looks up at him with bleary eyes, and the others crowd closer as her next question comes out as just a whisper:
“Promise?”
Merlin smiles at her, and wipes away her tears, but before he can answer, Arthur speaks up, in a strong voice:
“We promise, ‘Gana.”
Leon gives her a reassuring smile, and Gwen nods her head firmly as she speaks:
“We’re in this together, destiny or no.”
Gaius and Hunith take the beds that night, as the other five fill the living room with various blankets and pillows. They crowd in together, Morgana held protectively in the middle, everyone else silently making oaths to themselves that they would never let her down.
~
That’s the end of part three!!
I reckon there’ll be two more parts to the story, but again, that depends on how many different ideas I want to fit in. I also haven’t started writing part 4 yet, so it might take a little while longer for it to arrive.

Mutual appreciation below the cut:
Thank you for 2.5k but a special thank you all of my lovely mutuals:
@pinkandblueblurbs Gili, baby, you mean so much to me that I'm struggling to put it into words. Never would I have expected you to greet me with such kindness nor tolerate me for as long as you have. I feel like I can come to you with anything because when I have had something I need to talk about you're always empathetic and helpful and I always walk away feeling infinitely better. You were one of my main inspirations when I decided to start posting my writing, I can only hope to have half your talent. Not only are you sweet but you're downright adorable and getting to know you and the people in your life is something I hope I will never take for granted. Your grandma's a gilf and Madison's hot but I love you most, I guess.
@randomoutsiders you're my favorite milf in the making. Your son(s) are going to get bullied for having a milf for a mom and I will lay my life on thatThe characters you write for come alive at your fingertips and I am in awe of how you write. Talking to you is a pleasure I could've never imagined, sweet and personable conversation always seems to flow with us and I can't thank you enough for not only listening to me when I need to talk about something but coming to me when you feel it necessary. It is my crowning achievement in life to know that through James I was able to bring out the Dom in you and if I accomplish nothing else I will always have that.
@st0nesnglitter you managed to turn me against an entire ocean. Every drop of water in that stupid fucking sea keeps us much too far from each other and because of that I can't help but loathe it. 4 months, give or take, and you have yet to grow of me, after talking with you about everything from our boys to what we had for dinner. I didn't know there were people as beautiful as you, I love the little shorthands you use when words are too long for you to want to type them out in their entirety, your resilience is astounding to me as you've battled through so many hard things and you're that much stronger for them. The thought that you like me enough to speak to me is still something I can't wrap my head around but I'm incredibly thankful for it.
@luci-n-lyssa big sister type beat. Your energy is immaculate, you always manage to make me laugh even if we're talking about the most mundane things. I'm not sure how to describe it because as soon as I try to my brain goes to mush and I become the least eloquent person ever. You just make me feel comfy, you radiate cool wine aunt energy and I feel like I could show up at your dorm room sobbing and you'd let me in without question. Tell that little bitch of a brother to stop being a fucking loser and get social media, god. I love you Lyssa, my main bitch.
@shadesofvelma the way I'm literally in love with you. You're absolutely breathtaking, everything about you is just enchanting and leaves me in awe of you time after time. I remember the first time we spoke and you had me take a look at your writing and I was shocked that on your first attempt you'd written something so beautiful. Don't get me started on your accent, it's so fucking pretty and even if you were a bitch I could fall in love with you with that voice alone.
@philocxlyy Jennn, baby. It's so crazy how you started as an anon on my page and now we speak every day. I'm really thankful for our relationship, being around you just makes me happy and lightens my day. Thank you so much for opening up to me and talking about what's on your mind because I feel like it's taken our friendship to a higher level. No matter how much Anthony and I talk remember that you're always my favorite, at least until he cuts the mullet.
more mutuals who I love and adore but simply can't write more paragraphs for: @acosmis-t @arcaneslut @just-a-smol-spoon @mullthingsoverinthehotwater @itsmentalillness @maybanksslut @daisyyy2516 @inureflower @amourtentiaa @thatvenusbabe @illiicitarts @lillsthoughts @lillsthoughts @earlgreydream @i-cant-stfu @gothboutique @thotbutpurple @crystal-dee @ashesandstars @hellounicorn

Prompt 4 undercover | stay
Marijon series
Masterlist
Marinette knew that was an akuma but to keep her undercover identity she would have to be careful. She tried to get back up from where she was awkwardly on top of Jon but another shake caused her to slip back down against him. His hands steadied her with his hands at her hips but as the shaking continued he pulled her closet. He turned so she was situated beside him but used his body to cover her until the shaking stopped.
She was flustered by his closeness but she had to focus. She would need to find a way to get away from Jon so she could transform without him suspecting. They stood and looked around. She didn't know if she should risk heading down to her room and possibly getting trapped or trying to climb down outside. More shaking left them with only the outside as a possible escape route.
More intense tremors shifted the angle of the roof. Her bed and ladder crashed down inside. She likely would have fallen and slid down the sharply angled balcony if Jon hadn't taken hold of her hips and steadied her. She pointed and he seemed to know what she meant without any explanation. They worked together to get to the railing. It wasn't safe but would make an excellent point to springboard to the next roof.
They jumped in sync but they went further and landed softer than was actually possible. Jon was using his flight abilities to get them away more safely but without making it obvious. He was just as much undercover as she was. Marinette led the way to the next jump. She hesitated as another shock shook the building but Jon had seen where she was headed and once again carried them across. The building was still shaking as they landed.
Not just shaking. It was falling. Marinette had twisted slightly when they landed and was out of his grip. She had made it feel like they had slipped apart but she was trying to find a way to get distance from him. She hadn't realized the building would be falling when she had planned that. She didn't have time to worry about the panicked look in his eyes. The building was quickly toppling but she could see how she needed to speed up to jump to the next building.
She sprinted to the edge and jumped against the next building. There was no way to grip it there but that hadn't been her plan. She shoes said against the brick and her fingers dug into the groove to get her just enough of a grip to jump across to the ladder on the next building. The hanging ladder released with her sudden weight and slid her down until she was hanging about 3 meters in the air. She dropped and tucked into a roll to avoid injuring her ankles.
She rushed into the nearest alley and looked around. She was alone so she whispered to Tikki to transform. She had to believe that Jon would be safe on his own. She had a job to do. She ran down the alley towards the sounds of screaming that she was certain was near where she would find the akuma. She turned the corner too quickly and ran right into a person moving the other direction. His hands were at the back of her forearms to steady her once again.
His hands did not immediately release her and neither did his gaze. Ladybug pulled her arms away from him and he released her slowly as if he hadn't realized he was still grasping her. She excused herself and tried to move past her but she froze when he finally found his voice.
"You use magic," he said. "You said you aren't evil like Hawkmoth. You are the opposite. You aren't evil but you use magic to fight him."
"Are you okay, Sir? I think you are confused. You may have been hit by the akuma." Ladybug replied.
"You know I wasn't. I am not confused. Everything suddenly makes sense."
"Right. I need to go."
She swung her yoyo up to the tallest stable building. Before she could swing away he put a hand on her arm. She paused and looked back at him.
"I can help."
"Stay," she said, before swinging away.
She didn't look back to see if he listened. She didn't have the time. She needed to get to where the battle would be and end this. She hadn't even been able to spare a thought for how her parents or his parents had managed as the bakery fell. Maybe he would go back and check on them rather than interfering with the akuma. That thought gave her comfort even though she knew that everything would be reversed when the battle ended. She didn't know what power they were facing and didn't want to risk him being turned by whatever power Hawkmoth had granted his victim.
She realized she was arriving at the battle scene when she saw Chat Noir flying towards a building that hadn't fully fallen. She jumped to meet him in midair and sent her yoyo out to pull them both back. She released him mid swing when he extended his staff. She continued on to get a look at what they were dealing with before joining him where he had landed.
"Have we learned anything useful about our opponent today?" she asked.
"No. I was seen and hit as I arrived. That's when I found you."
When they looked back at him he was slamming a comically large lug wrench into the ground causing the tremors they had felt. Still angry, the akuma ran for the building they were on and swung at it. They scattered away as it fell. They landed directly behind him and Chat Noir taunted as they both ducked out of the way.
"I hate to throw a wrench in your plans but you are going to have to try harder."
Ladybug wrapped her yoyo cord around the wrench but his arm swung at her next and sent her flying. She released the weapon and caught herself. Chat Noir had retaliated by whacking the akuma with his staff while Ladybug returned to the action. She called for a lucky charm.
Into her hands fell an overlarge inflatable ring. She threw it and Chat Noir extended his staff into him while the ring arced through the air. As soon as it went over his head she used her yoyo to pull the auto inflate tag. She sent her yoyo right back for the wrench and tossed it right to Chat Noir who had activated his cataclysm in anticipation.
She tossed the item in the air, cleansed the akuma, and called out the "miraculous ladybug". She left the rest of the clean up with Chat, not even bothering to find out what had caused the akuma. She just quickly told him that she had been with people in a building as it fell down and they would be looking for her. She swung back without waiting for a response.
She managed to get back near where she was within a minute of the ladybugs righting everything. Jon and both sets of parents were there. Her parents rushed to her when they saw her.
"I told them I had seen you safely on the ground," he said. "but that you had just stayed with a couple children who were separated from their parents."
She looked over at him from her parents' embrace. He knew her secret but he was keeping it. At least from her parents. That would have to be enough for now.

Chapter 3: Expectations
It was bitterly cold outside the burrow, and you wondered if winter had come early. Your icy hands clenched your sides, refusing to go back inside even if your knuckles burned and your bare feet began to crack from the hardness of the grass on your soles.
You walked on the grass feeling the dew wetting your fingertips. On the other side of the garden the gnomes were burying one of Molly's ornaments with what, you guessed, the woman would be very angry when she found out, but no more than she already was. Molly's words were harsh. Even if her intention was not to make you feel bad, she had managed to put a huge weight on your stomach after the fight.
You didn't blame her, it was almost certain that Molly would react that way, however, you hoped that within her there was a bit of empathy for the situation you were experiencing with your family. It wasn’t easy for anyone to go through a war that could have been avoided in one way or another, however, for the Grants it was an even more difficult challenge knowing that the trigger for such a war was grandpa Tim Grant's half brother.
You walked around the house, crossing the barnyard, watching the chickens peck at a rubber boot on a very rusty cauldron. The cornfield grasses moved with the wind at the same rate. From right to left, right to left, right to left and then they changed the rhythm from left to right, left to right, left to right ...
The barn was just behind the thick grass rising into an old stone sty, which had several crooked stories attached to it. Four or five chimneys dotted the roof of the cellar, and most likely the entire building was held up by magic due to its crazy bolt-on construction. You took a look back at the main entrance of the house where you could hear the voices of Bill's brothers next to Molly's, deciding to get away from the Weasleys before starting a new fight.
You crossed the cornfield finding a pond full of frogs that you dodged with a little scream and a ballerina jump. Then you came across an old broom shed that was half stowed and a pervasive smell. You headed there, thinking of helping out with the cleaning and wasting some time in the process until William came home from the ministry in the early afternoon.
The brooms were on top of each other in a corner of the shed where the garden gnomes used them to play with each other. One of the gnomes had gotten a match with which he had managed to light a couple of strands of the broom of one of the twins -You knew it because each of the brooms had the initials of Molly's children painted on the base. That one had a huge G in the center - which soon expanded into the rest of the broom's dark fibers. You immediately turned it off earning yourself a tiny kick from the gnome.
The smoke from the fire mixed with dust, and the foul smell of expired wax made your eyes water . You wondered vaguely when was the last time that place had been cleaned up, however, the density of the raised dust and the rottenness of the broom wax on the floor told you about the nonexistence maintenance of the shed. The orchard was contained within a paddock, so you assumed there would be no problem cleaning it up later.
You collected each thing by hand placing them where you thought they should go. You finished cleaning the shed earlier than expected, securing the door when exiting to prevent the gnomes from entering and destroying everything again.
You continued your way in a straight line until you reached the barn where a thick layer of dust hid the doorknob. You opened the warehouse with your wand finding the worst scenario ever imagined. The walls were hidden in ghastly cobwebs, the shelves were clothed in huge mountains of dust, and Muggle stuff were strewn everywhere. Mr. Weasley's old Ford Anglia was on the left side of the barn,  storing certain flying objects that you couldn't recognize from the cloud of dust that rose and entered to your eyes.
Well, that seemed like an even bigger challenge than the shed on the other side of the garden. You started by washing the car using your wand to launch several aguamentis causing a waterfall of mud falling from the roof to the fender. Then the car doors flapped open like a pair of wings, letting out the flying objects. You raised your wand by closing the barn door blockig them the exit and initiating a chase that lasted a couple of hours to catch each object, throw it inside the Ford Anglia and finish polishing the hood before the flying, spoiled car got upset.
You forgot the last time you helped your household servants clean a simple fireplace ornament. Years before, when you were little and your brothers liked to spend time together, you helped the butler to clean some objects in the house because it was more fun when you formed competitions between you, Anthon and Margaret to know which of you cleaned the house ¿faster . You had fun and old Alfred got less tired. But that was a long time ago and in the present you didn’t remember what was the proper order of cleaning.
You were lugging box after box for several hours getting a terrible allergy in the process. The last box was made of recyclable paper where you put Mr. Weasley's old newspapers and Molly's worn recipes. You carried them to the fourth shelf from the right, previously cleaned, raising it with both hands. A speck of dust flew across the room, stopping on your nose causing you to sneeze so hard you fell backwards with the box on your face. The papers flew around the corners causing a disaster worse than the initial one.
“Shit”
You stayed lying on the floor taking the box off your face staring at the ceiling. Undoubtedly that would be a difficult life without anyone to help you doing the things more than yourself, however you were willing to try ‘cause you didn’t want to return home where things were simple but with a high cost. You weren't sure you wanted to trade your freedom for a few extra comforts. You let out a sigh ready to stand up when a singular sheet of a recent newspaper flew towards you, stopping on your chest. You caught a glimpse of a fairly familiar photograph in the ink, so you took the paper and read:
"Dark Mark sparks panic." Muggle family murdered.  Death Eaters numbers grow”  Your hands trembled over the paper, caressing each of the words, reading them over and over again. The weight on your stomach grew and grew, as if it were suddenly going to explode. A huge picture of uncle Tom stood in the middle, with that toothless grin and throbbing nostrils “Merlin’s beard”
Your fingers tingled, and you couldn't help but run your touch over your uncle's face trying to think how he got to that point. Grandpa Tim never talked so much about his half brother and you never had the courage to ask him even if the curiosity was eating your insides. There were few times where Tom Riddle's presence was in the family conversations and if that happened, then your father changed the topic from one second to another. It was annoying living in the shadows, but it was even more to be tied to a cause that no one sympathized with, not even his own brother. But Tim Grant was reserved, perhaps too reserved. Maybe that was the reason why he allowed the actions of his little brother to escalate to those levels and allowed too that his only son had choose the wrong side. However, you didn’t understand - or support - Voldemort's ambitions, neither did your grandpa and that cost you to be rejected by the rest of your family.
Your eyes watered and you didn't know if it was because of guilt or if the damn dirt had entered your eyelids. You looked at the ceiling in the haze. You searched your mind and realized that the situation affected you too much. You weren't welcome with the Weasleys, nor with the Grants. You felt desolate, as if the barn walls were closing in on you.
Molly's reaction was valid, you repeated yourself as many times as you could, because anyone who had lost a large part of it’s family to a member of another's would have done the same thing or something so much worse. You shook your head, once again feeling the rejection you were used to.
The barn door opened suddenly, letting in a gust of wind hitting your body directly on the ground. Your skin prickled from the cold causing the newcomer to laugh.
You looked up to find yourself face to face with the distorted figure of Arthur Weasley who was holding a couple of drinks along with a weird smile that made you laugh. The man sat on the floor next to you leaving the glass next to your face.
"I'm sorry I scared you. it’s freezing cold out there and in my defense, nobody comes to this place”
“It’s okay, I wasn't expecting visitors”
"Fine, then" Arthur took a sip of his drink licking his chapped lips, but still showing you that smile so much like Bill's. You folded the newspaper on your lap, nervous. "So ... what are you doing lying in my barn?"
"I ... I was trying to clean this place up”
"Is that so? ‘cuz It seemed like you were about to take a nap."
“Yeah, i had a little mishap here”
"I see, do you want to get up?"
"Yes, thank you." Arthur held out his hand, slowly pulling you up to leave you sitting in front of him. He offered you the drink and you clinked glasses before drinking. It was hot chocolate, you guessed, made by Molly. Your stomach churned.
Mr. Weasley glanced around the barn, surprised to see more than half perfectly arranged
“This place hasn't been so clean since Bill was born”
“Sorry?
"No, no, it's okay," he mentioned, waving to play it off, "Molly had been asking me for a long time to do it, so I think you just made my job easier."
"It's nothing, Mr. Weasley
"Did you see something you liked?"
"Uh, yeah," you answered wiping your lips. "Ignoring the fact that your car almost killed me, I noticed that you have a lot of muggle stuff."
“Ah, yes. They are fascinating, don't you think?”
"Certainly, but I also realized that most of them are useless, why do you still have them here?"
"I like to collect them," he replied, taking another sip of his drink. You mimicked his action “to be honest, I don't even have a clue how these things works, but I suppose I'll find out in time. Muggle devices are not as advanced as ours, much less functional, however, I find them entertaining and special somehow, did you know that they use a subway to transport themselves underground? And they must leave coins in a machine so that they give them a little ticket. A ticket! The first time I used one I was deadly excited!
You smiled, imagining how it would to see Mr. Weasley that happy
"I could help you understand how they work." You winced when Arthur looked at you with wide eyes. "My ... my grandfather lived with Muggles for a while and knows a lot about this artifacts. Several times he spoke of his usefulness to my brothers and me”
“Fantastic!” He replied cheerfully. You smiled “It's wonderful (Y/N), thank you”
“No problem”
Then a silence settled between you, being cut off only by the babble of the gnomes outside the barn kicking the timbers trying to get inside. Arthur cleared his throat as he ran his little blue eyes over each of the walls of his newly renovated barn. He smiled again placing one of his hands on your shoulder
"I found out what happened with Molly in the morning," he mentioned. You nodded “My children told me what you said to each other and ...”
"I'm sorry I spoke badly to your wife, Mr. Weasley" you interrupted, sipping your glass all at once, leaving it on the floor. "I know after this I'll have to talk to William and find another place to stay."
“She is not like that. She rarely has such behavior with the people and I can only think that my Molly has a lot of mixed feelings. The war has us all nervous and the fact that the memories of the past have arisen again ... they make her have reactions that are not very usual in Molly.”
"I'm not blaming her. I think she's right”
“Why?”
"What I did to my family ... running away, betray them..." You started playing with your fingers on your lap, embarrassed. "It's not something a trustworthy person would do."
“What are you talking about?”
“For the Grants, it’s very important to support the family in their endeavors without stopping to think if that could be harmful to the others. With uncle Tom becoming the most dangerous dark wizard of all times ... people would think that his relatives would follow his steps and they did “Mr. Weasley listened attentively, ignoring the screams of his wife announcing that the food was ready “At least most of them. Now all of us are tied to the He-who-must-not-be-named, whether we want it or not. It ruined our lives and I couldn't stay in that place forever
"Why aren't you on his side?"
"Because I can't see my brothers make a wrong decision" You crumpled the newspaper with your hands looking at how the pic of Lord Voldemort turned into a streaked stain "I have my own convictions, even if you don’t believe so”
"I don't believe anything of you, (Y/N)" Arthur's voice turned stoic as he stared at you harshly. "Neither the good nor the bad. I am a believer that you should judge someone by what demonstrates, not by what it’s said about them. Right now you aren’t showing me anything but that there is something in your family that you don’t like and that the dirt in my barn is intolerable to you”
You smiled
"We're all here waiting to see what are you capable of. Good or bad, you get to decide who (Y/N) Grant is from now on. Starting over. Forget that the Grants' actions make you worthy of the consequences”
Warmth attacked your chest. It was comforting to feel for the first time the acceptance of someone who wasn't doing it out of mere compassion or that it was Bill. That Arthur gave you the benefit of the doubt encouraged you to continue as before: trying, trying, trying.
"I think his wife doesn't think the same."
Arthur Weasley patted your shoulder.
"I'll talk to her, she'll understand. Meanwhile let's go home, it's time for lunch”
"Did Bill come back?"
"Yes, my son and I came back from the ministry a while ago.He wanted to find you, but I asked him to let me do it. You know, because sometimes it's good to have the daughters-in-law on your side”
Your cheeks heated up and then the rest of your face turned completely red. Arthur studied your reaction, smiling as he realized you were just a kid looking for approval. He patted your shoulder again, inviting you to leave the rest of the mess and accompany him to the burrow.
"These aren’t a good times to trust the Daily Prophet," Arthur mentioned, noticing the crumpled newspaper in your hands. You skipped the pond and skirted the cornfield until you reached the garden entrance where Bill's brothers and Bill himself had set up a long table near Molly's apple tree where they planned to spend the afternoon. One of the twins raised his wand putting the cuterly across the table, one set for each of the family members. You wondered if there would be a place for you at the table “Honestly, these are not good times to trust anything or anyone, so if you accept my advice, don't worry too much about reading the newspapers, they will leave you more questions than answers, Hey, you will break that!
Arthur scolded his twins when they fiddled with forks in a battle to find out which of them would wash the dishes after eating. Arthur ran towards them while Bill approached you greeting you with a kiss on the cheek. He frowned, watching you closely and then removed his coat, draping it over your shoulders.
"What the hell were you doing outside without a sweater?" It's freezing!”
"You worry way too much," you told him, pressing the faux fur against your shivering body. The truth was that, after the exchange of words with Bill's mother, you didn’t have the time to get a sweater before leaving and of course your wounded pride wouldn’t let you get dressed again before going to hide in the barn. Bill clicked his tongue rubbing your arms. "I'm fine, I just lost track of the time cleaning your father's barn and I didn't feel the cold until now”
"You're bad at lying, did you know that?"
"You should stop asking so many questions." You smiled at the grimace on the older Weasley's face. "Nothing happened."
"That's not what the twins told me," he suddenly mentioned. You felt the tension in Bill's body when Molly passed by him giving you a dangerous look, however you decided to ignore it for the good of both of you “ What my mom said ...”
"It’s okay, it doesn't matter I discussed it with your father and we worked it out”
“Are you sure?” You nodded “I hope so. Not because she’s my mother I will let her offend you in any way”
Your smile widened. You couldn't possibly love that man more than you already did. You approached his body, throwing your arms around Bill's neck, having to stand on your tiptoes to reach only to kiss his chin. He lowered his head, managing to bring his lips together.
“Help your brothers set the table, I'll go take a bath”
"Don't you prefer i help you instead?" You laughed
"I can do it by myself, thanks”
"Hmm ... you sure?”
"William ...”
"Okay, okay, okay," he urged you leaving a couple of kisses on the corner of your lips. "Don't be gone too long. i’ll miss you, love."
“I will not. Wait for me just here, yeah?”
You went upstairs to the room you shared with Bill and jumped into the shower enjoying the warmth of the water above your head. You leaned against the tiles thinking that your first day in the burrow had turned out very bad, but better than you had thought. Even if Molly didn't believe your words, you would do your best to fullfil the expectations of the others members of the Order. You would be loyal to them, to the Aurors, and you would fight whoever you had to to prove that your actions were worth more than the rumors surrounding the Grants did.
You were going to prove how wrong they were with you and, incidentally, you would forge a reputation of your own, one of which you would proud of

You might think that dating Spencer Reid would make doing your homework way easier, but you would be wrong. Turns out that dating a genius includes him lecturing you on the importance of learning things yourself.
That’s why I had been sitting at his kitchen table with him for at least two hours, struggling to finish the last five problems on my assignment while he casually read a book in a language I couldn’t even place.
“Speenceeerrr.” I called from across the table, reaching in his direction with the saddest pout I could form.
“Don’t whine,” he answered without even looking up. Jerk.
“I’m bored,” I continued to whine without any shame, “Can I come sit on your lap?”
“No.”
Biting the inside of my cheek, I realized he was in one of his stubborn moods. But that was fine.  I could deal with stubborn.
“Please?” I asked, only to receive another immediate “No.”
This time I put both of my hands in front of me, pressing my breasts together while I leaned over the table as I asked, “… Pretty please?”
That was enough to get him to finally lower his book, peeking across the table to see me staring at him with wide doe eyes and a coy smile.
“You’re very cute,” he said with an extremely brief smile, returning back to his book when he concluded, “Still no.”
“Come on!” I cried with a groan, “I promise I’ll behave.”
He laughed at that, idly flipping a page before speaking. “Oh, you do? You promise?”
“Yes!”
“Fine. Bring your homework,” he instructed, gesturing to me to come over without ever putting down his book.
I scrambled to collect everything, happily padding over to him and dumping my book, notepad, and pencils in front of him. Once I was there, though, he suddenly raised his hand to stop me.
“Take off your pants.”
With a raised eyebrow, I shifted my hip to the side to inspect his suspiciously calm, vague demeanor.
“Why?”
“Because I said so.”
Considering that response was completely unhelpful but also incredibly hot, I listened. I tried to make a little bit of a show out of it, but his eyes were glued to the page in front of him until my pants finally hit the ground.
“Take off the rest.”
It was then that he started to look at me. He sucked his bottom lip into his mouth, licking his lips as he began undoing his own pants.
The sound of his buckle coming undone was enough to spark butterflies in my stomach, and I began removing my underwear with a renewed vigor.
“Don’t look so excited, little girl,” he warned in that low register that usually accompanied his more dominant persona. I considered arguing back, but ultimately just let out a playful giggle.
After he had finally removed his bottoms enough to reveal himself, I bounced on my toes as I waited for the command I knew was coming.
“Sit down.”
There it was. Allowing him to guide my hips to turn me around so that I was facing the table, I swung my leg over him to straddle his lap, lowering down onto him slowly.
And slow was the only word for it. He didn’t allow me to move more than an inch every few seconds, his breath hitching each time until I was fully seated on him.
I could feel the blood rushing to my face, my mouth hung open with hungry breaths. When I tried to begin moving my hips, however, he halted me with a firm grip on my hips.
He clicked his tongue in my ear, digging his fingers into my sides as he held me there. “I don’t think so. You’re going to sit here and stay very still until I tell you to move.”
“But—“ I barely got a word in edgewise before he countered.
“You promised to behave. Now do your homework. I want to finish what I’m reading.”
I huffed, struggling to move one more time and ultimately failing. “You can’t be serious.”
“Do your work and be patient and maybe I’ll fuck you, or get up and get nothing. Those are your options.”
I was certain that if I could see him, he would have that clever, devilish smirk he always wore when he was fucking with me. But I forced myself to keep my eyes straight ahead, leaning forward to grab my pencil from the table to hopefully finish my work quickly. If he wasn’t going to check it, I could just bullshit it.
Of course, as soon as my pencil hit the page he shifted underneath me in a very purposeful way, forcing himself even deeper into me.
“Fuck!” I gasped, gripping my pencil tighter as I arched my back.
“Language.”
With a deep breath, I forced a smile as I issued an extremely sarcastic apology.
“Sorry, daddy.”
After that he was much kinder, allowing me to work without any more rude interruptions. Granted, my maximum capacity to function was still very low, and it took me at least ten minutes to finish three of the five questions.
It was hard enough having him inside of me, the warm throbbing of his cock like an extension of myself at this point, but once he finished the book, it was a completely different level of impossible. Because no sooner did the book hit the table than were both of his hands on me.
One hand remained rooted on my hip, halting any attempts at movement while the other crept up to fondle my chest. I took the new ministrations to be permission to move, but he quickly cut off that train of thought as he leaned his chest against my back.
“I didn’t tell you to stop.”
“Daddy—“ I desperately whined, my hips moving with a mind of their own even as he tried to hold me down. Spencer was still dedicated to making it worse, moving my hair to one side and latching his mouth onto my neck.
“Keep going,” he mumbled into the skin.
So I tried. I cannot stress enough how hard I tried, my mind functioning much like a toddler being told to focus on math while sitting in front of a fucking funfetti birthday cake.
“Wrong.” Spencer whispered in my ear, his eyes apparently watching my botched attempts at my homework. With a general sound of displeasure, I erased my previous answer and changed it.
“Still wrong.”
Breaking the scene for just a second, I hoarsely begged, “Please, Spencer.”
He must have sensed my mounting frustration, because soon he was palming my breast much harder, his hand finally letting my hips begin to rock.
“Tell me, is it just because my dick is in you, or are you always this clueless?”
The breath left my lungs in short bursts, his words both hurtful and hot against my ear. I didn’t let it faze me, still scribbling some answer on the sheet while I spoke. “I-I told you before I can’t... I can’t focus when you’re inside me.”
He lowered his hands, running them down my bare thighs before dragging them back up, leaving angry red marks in his wake.
“You should’ve thought about that before you asked to sit on my lap.”
This time, he lightly nibbled on my ear once he stopped talking, laughing at the way a shiver ran through my body.
“I didn’t think you would do... this,” I quietly confessed.
“So you just wanted to tease me? And now you’re mad I beat you at your own game?”
Rocking back and forth, I groaned, “It wasn’t a game, I just wanted to sit on your lap!”
“And now you are sitting on my lap and you’re still whining.” He retorted, his hands returning to their heavy petting wherever they could reach.
“Because I want you to fuck me!”
“That wasn’t part of the deal.”
If I had been sexually frustrated before, now I was essentially feral. The harder I tried to move, the more he tried to stop me until I got fed up, forcing out a few hostile words.
“Fuck you.”
His hand flew up to my face, grabbing my cheeks roughly and forcing my lips to pucker.
“Watch your mouth.”
“Why would I listen to you if you aren’t going to fuck me?” I muttered through my contorted face, now struggling to lift off his lap.
He wasn’t having that, though, and roughly tugged me back down onto him while he thrusted up into me.
“Because I said so,” he ever so kindly reminded.
“Fuck!” I cried out at the rough intrusion, continuing with an even angrier exclamation, “Fuck you!”
“Fine.”
I’m not sure what it was about his voice when he uttered that one syllable, but dread coursed through my veins. I couldn’t tell exactly what was coming, but I knew he was going to have fun doing it.
“If you want me to fuck you, I will.”
Before I could protest, he had swept the items on the table onto the ground and lifted me off of him. He dropped me harshly against the table, standing so he could have the upper ground.
“After all, you have quite a bit of naughty behavior to answer for. And right now, I’m more than happy to administer the punishment.”
I rolled my eyes at the way he always managed to drag these things out. We both knew I was going to be a brat, so why waste our time with threats I clearly wanted him to follow through on?
“Just shut up and fuck me already.”
Spencer bitterly laughed, staring down at me with far too much amusement as his fingers brushed over my lips.
“How badly do you want it, little girl?” He said as he continued the trend of sudden, rough movements by shoving his fingers down my throat. “I should’ve warned you not to do anything to me you don’t expect me to do to you in return.”
Gagging lightly on his fingers pressing down against my tongue, I only felt my need for him to fuck me skyrocket. Through the lustful haze, I managed to remember what he had done to me in this situation… and how I had responded.
I bit down on his fingers just hard enough to leave a small indentation on them, and he jerked his hand back the same way I had.
His slap across my face was just as hard, too. The sound filled the room, and I had to bite back a moan at the way my cheek stung where his hand had hit.
When I turned my face back to him, I bit my lip before smiling.
“Do it again,” I giggled.
But he didn’t listen, because of course he didn’t. Instead, he grabbed my hips, flipping me onto my stomach on the table, my face pressed against the wood.
“I don’t take orders from you, bitch.”
Another shiver ran down my spine at his words paired with the sound of his belt slowly being removed from the loops of his pants.
“And honestly? I’m tired of hearing your voice.” He finished, his hand reaching around to open my mouth. He worked the belt between my teeth like a bit for a horse, tugging back on the material. With my head craned back, I began to rub my legs together, already missing the way it felt to be filled by him.
I tried to groan in disapproval, but it just came out as garbled noise. Spencer didn’t seem to mind.
“It’s been so long that you’ve forgotten I’m not as nice as you. That I’ve been taming brats a lot longer than you.”
For a moment I was left there just like that, laid out on his kitchen table for his consumption. I could tell from the silence that he was enjoying watching me squirm, taking in the brief image of me submitting to him without a fight.
But then the moment ended with one swift thrust into me. The force was enough to rattle the table and I grunted from the impact.
“If you’ve got a problem, don’t bother trying to tell me, because I don’t fucking care.” As he spoke, he gave a thrust after each clause, somehow becoming progressively more aggressive.
I’d felt him like this once before, although under different circumstances. This time he wasn’t just using me to get through pain. This was something else.
The freedom I could feel flowing between us was intoxicating, and for once in my life I didn’t want to fight him. I didn’t have to. He was already doing everything I could have ever asked of him.
At least, that’s what I thought until he started talking again.
“God, you’re so fucking wet,” he muttered under his breath, rolling his hips slowly to make sure he was fully entering me with each thrust. “You really love keeping your daddy’s cock warm, don’t you, little girl?”
It was always strange, to feel the duality of Spencer. The way that his words could sound so much like praise while littered with downright filthy words. Or how he used one hand to gag me with his belt and the other tenderly caressed my sides.
“You’re so good at being a pretty little slut for me. Letting me use you.”
His voice was so smooth, with a confidence I was unaccustomed to hearing from him. My fingernails scraped at the table, trying to fight against the way my entire body slid against the wood.
I could feel my muscles desperately clenching around him, my feet trying to remain on the floor. The light struggle didn’t go unnoticed, with a dark laugh coming from Spencer as he leaned over top of me, pressing me down with the weight of his body.
“I don’t understand how a slut like you has such a tight little cunt.”
A loud moan escaped from the little space between my teeth and the leather, and I could feel the saliva dripping down my chin. Tears had already started forming in my eyes, my cheekbone still raw from his hand now burning against the table.
“What’s it going to take to break you, huh? Or have I already?” He whispered as his fingers gripped my hips with bruising force.
“No fight left in you, little girl? You gonna give up? You gonna cry?” He mocked, earning my first attempt at a response. The gag got in my way, though, and it just came out as a wrecked sob as he entered me with another rough thrust.
“Speak up.”
The next noise out of my mouth was a guttural groan, my back arching enough to lift my face from the table and loosen the belt against my lips.
“Here, I’ll make it easier for you.” He said before using his hand to wrench the accessory from my teeth, tossing it in front of me on the table. I could see my teeth marks against the leather.
“S-Spe…” I tried, but couldn’t even finish his name. My mind seemed somewhere else, some place to which only he could take me. Nothing else mattered here; nothing except pleasing him.
Which is what made his nails against my skin so exciting. But still, it wasn’t nearly as exciting as the way he continued to laugh at the mess he made of me.
“How pathetic. You can’t even say my name? Doesn’t matter anyway.” He stood back up, providing him the leverage to drive further into me once more, pulling my hips back against him with both hands now.
“A useful cunt doesn’t talk. So don’t even think about bothering with your little safe word now. I’m not stopping until I’m finished taking what’s mine.”
I’m not sure if it was from the way my lips caught on the wood, how hard I was biting down on my lip, or a mark from the belt, but I could taste blood somewhere on my lips.
“Don’t stop.” My voice was weak and hoarse from disuse, but the words were audible, and that’s all I cared about.
I was a little surprised, though, when Spencer immediately withdrew. Then I realized that I had inadvertently given him another order, and he didn’t seem too happy about the fact it was one he wanted to follow.
With much more strength than needed, he lifted me by my arm and flipped me onto my back. My joints had given up even when the rest of me hadn’t, leaving me lolling like a rag doll under his will.
I could only imagine what he saw, my cheek only slightly less red than the blood tainted spit covering my chin as I held my body open to him.
The smirk on his face was positively feral, like a predator admiring his catch before going in for the kill.
“You’re so fucking filthy. You actually like this, don’t you?”
When I didn’t immediately answer, he brought his hand against my cheek much lighter this time. Although I knew it wasn’t a smart response, I couldn’t help but giggle at the way it caused goosebumps to ripple over my skin.
His hips snapped forward, entering me completely all at once. Spencer couldn’t stop himself from moaning, belying his stoic nature in scenes like this. He was enjoying himself so much that he couldn’t hide it anymore, and the thought just made my heart beat harder.
“Fuck me harder, daddy!” I suddenly begged, rocking my hips forward in time with his thrusts.
“God, you’re such a dirty bitch,” he responded, doing exactly what I’d asked by driving into me as the table screeched against the floor. It didn’t last long, with his hand coming up to my throat and clenching my airway within seconds. There was no warning this time.
“You’re nothing but a little toy that likes being fucked like a cheap whore.”
I would have screamed out in agreement, but I could barely manage to breathe under his unrelenting grip. Instead, my eyes began to roll to the back of my head, my mouth open in an attempt to take in any air.
“Go ahead, go to sleep, little girl. I don’t need you to be awake for this part.”
The butterflies in my stomach had migrated to my chest, filling every inch of space that used to be filled with air. The burning in my face was even hotter now, and I honestly felt I might collapse in on myself if he didn’t finish soon.
Luckily, his hips began to falter the longer he watched me scraping at his hand on my throat. With one more thrust, he threw his head back with closed eyes.
The sweat on his brow showed just how much of himself he gave to this moment, and I couldn’t have been more grateful. Seeing him come undone inside of me was one of my favorite past times.
“Fuck!” He growled through clenched teeth. His fingers twitched harder against my neck as I felt him spill his release deep inside of me, his hips still trying to push further into me. Once he opened his eyes, it’s like he suddenly remembered that I still hadn’t taken a breath, my face draining of color before he quickly lifted his hand.
I gasped, my lungs both burning and finally relaxing as they filled with air. My energy nearly drained, I hoped to god that he wasn’t planning on making me move anytime soon. For once, I was actually grateful that he hadn’t tried to get me off, too. I’m not sure I could take it.
I closed my eyes and laughed to myself about the irony of me not protesting him staying inside me now. Soon enough, he had pulled out of me, muttering another string of curse words as he tried to find the ability to walk the few feet over to the counter.
The sound of running water felt so far away and so serene. I smiled, knowing what was coming before it happened.
Sure enough, his hands were on me once more, cleaning away the evidence he’d left behind with a warm paper towel.
My face was last, with him taking extra care to be gentle. My eyes fluttered open, looking at the way he seemed to look straight into my soul, seeking any validation he could find that I was going to be alright.
“How are you, little girl?” He asked anyway, and I just sucked my bottom lip into my mouth as I smiled.
“Dirty.”
I had meant it as a joke, but I could see a flash of guilt in his eyes. Grabbing his forearm, I started to try to sit up against my body’s wishes. Something told me he needed me to be closer to him. He needed me to be okay.
“Can you stand up?” He asked, supporting my body weight with both hands on my back.
“Yeah, I think so,” I laughed.
Once I was upright, I realized that while he was still fully dressed, my legs were fucking freezing. Spencer noticed, too, and already had a plan in place for this situation.
“Let me clean you up.”
“You already did,” I responded with a nervous glance when his fingers ran through a piece of my hair hanging in my face. He just gave me that judgmental, deadpan expression that told me he knew I was trying to get out of something.
“Come on,” he said with a light pat on my ass before guiding me towards the bathroom. “We need to warm you up, anyway.”
I couldn’t argue with that; honestly, the idea of a shower sounded delightful. Still, some part of me felt strangely awkward about something so intimate. I clearly wasn’t nervous about him seeing me naked.
The thought of him taking care of me, delicately cleaning away any remaining evidence of sin, just got me much too excited. It didn’t take me long to realize that my apprehension wasn’t going to stop him.
He kept his hand wrapped around mine the whole time, even as he turned on the shower and checked the water. I didn’t mind, enjoying the glimpse into domestic life with Spencer Reid.
Although I was perfectly capable of doing it myself, I let him take off my remaining clothes before helping him remove his.
Steam filled the room that was remarkably calm. The usual suffocating sexual tension felt worlds away as Spencer helped me into the shower. My muscles immediately responded to the hot water, and I let out a happy sigh as I heard him enter behind me.
His hands were back on me, gently caressing every curve of my body under the water. Still, his touch was not sexual in the traditional sense. He pulled me closer, letting the water fall over both of us until there was nothing dry left.
Normally it would uncomfortable, for one of us to have to remain outside of the water, but Spencer didn’t seem to mind. It was like all of the focus he had in that supercharged brain could only be placed on me. Keeping me happy, safe, and warm.
And I was.
I couldn’t tell if he knew that. It felt like he didn’t.
With my back still to him, I heard him rustling with the travel-sized bottles I’d started to leave behind. I wondered to myself if I should just start leaving regular items now.
I was distracted from the thought by his fingers diligently working through my hair and on my scalp, massaging the product into a lather. For a touch I claimed to be nonsexual, I felt it all over my body.
Tilting my head further back, I nearly fell over onto him in the pleasurable haze he’d created. He just gave a small chuckle, nudging me back up so he could continue.
Before he finished, I gave a soft sigh and a mewl. When he turned me around to begin helping me wash it out, I saw the goofy smile on his face.
“I love you.” He said it like it needed to be said at all. As if he weren’t tenderly caring for me in that very moment.
A selfish part of me hated when he said it, because I still wasn’t sure when I could say it back. It seemed like there was never a right time. Before, he had been worried it would be about the suspected pregnancy, and then it had been the drugs. Now, I feared it would be swallowed into that post-coital dysphoria he always brought up.
Thankfully, he didn’t make me say anything.
“Close your eyes.” He said, tilting my chin back and maneuvering his fingers through my hair to rid it of the shampoo.
It had been a long time since I’d felt cared for like this. I didn’t know how to react. My heart was overwhelmed.
He repeated the process with the conditioner, and I remained silent once again. But Spencer didn’t seem like he missed our usual snarky repartee. I began to worry something deeper was wrong... again.
That thought was an unfortunate one to have, because it caused me to turn around. I took his hands in mine, stretching out his arms to see the remnants of bruises still peppered over his skin.
“Don’t think like that, little girl.”
His voice was harsh and crackling, filled to the brim with self loathing that I always hated to hear.
“They’re fading away, and I’m still here. There...” he paused, swallowing and trying to keep himself steady before continuing, “there won’t be any more.”
But there was still a struggle in his words. I wasn’t looking to chastise him, and it hurt to see he expected it. Which is why I began to slowly shift so that he was under the water, a weird mix of a smile masquerading as a pout.
Once he was under the water, he made a face at the way it hit him differently at his height. I ignored it, grabbing his soap from the side of the tub and pouring it into my hand.
He didn’t say anything when I started to run my hands over his chest and back. He just watched me with a quiet reverence, his eyes occasionally closing with a sigh of relief.
They stayed shut when I moved to his arms, wishing I could just wash away what was left of his scars.
“I’m not worried.” I finally spoke as I took his hands in mine, smiling at the way my fingers could be so much smaller than his and still fit so perfectly in his hands. Using the positive inertia, I wrapped my arms around him and let the water wash over both of us like a third member of our embrace.
His hands stroked my back so delicately that I barely noticed them at all. As much as I enjoyed the dramatic change of pace from our earlier activities, there was something undoubtedly off with the way he was holding me now.
I let it go for a minute longer, just so we could make out way back out of the tub. With a speed that I would never expect from someone who had exerted as much energy as he had, Spencer had wrapped me in a towel and left to fetch me his clothes for me to wear in an instant. We both knew that I’d brought my own change of clothes, but neither of us spoke about it. It was much preferable, we had each privately decided, for me to be swamped in the fabrics he loved.
Not a moment too soon we were laying in his bed, curled into a messy pile of limbs trying to convince the other that our bodies really couldn’t exist without the other. I’m not sure if it was the way his fingers still dusted over me like they would shatter me or that look in his eyes, but I couldn’t ignore the feeling any longer.
“Babe,” I cautiously began, taking his hand and pressing it fully against the cheek he so clearly wanted to touch, “Are you alright?”
“Yeah, I’m fine.” It was curt and unconvincing, so I continued.
“Are you sure? You know how I feel about you lying to me.”
He sighed, rolling onto his back and away from me. His arm covered his face, but I could still see the way his eyebrows furrowed beneath it.
“No. I’m sorry.”
“Why are you sorry?”
At this point I was just so grateful that we’d finally made it far enough into our relationship that he didn’t feel the need to lie to me more than once. Still, I was terrified by what he could possibly say next. What was he going to tell me next? That he had a secret child? A wife?
“I just… Sometimes after we have sex I feel…”
He peeked at me, probably noting the confusion and anxiety clear in my features.
“… Like I’m the worst person in the world.”
Those previous emotions were quickly replaced with an exasperated and false gasp as I pulled myself over to him.
“Well, that does wonders for my self-esteem, Dr. Reid.” I laughed, looking up at him from where my head rested against his chest. His heart even sounded troubled somehow.
“No, it’s not that. God, no. You’re amazing.”
“I know, right?” I continued to joke, hoping that it would make his vulnerability at least a little bit easier. It seemed to work, and his arms found their home around me once again.
“I spend almost all of my time, every day, trying to find and stop murderers and rapists. The worst possible people on this earth; people that everyone agrees are evil incarnate, and then I come home and…”
He trailed off, but it was obvious what he was going to say. It was hard to hear him compare himself to the men he hunted. He didn’t talk often about work, but he’d said enough for my chest to hurt at the implication.
“Spencer…”
“How can I feel like I’m a good person when I get off on hurting something as beautiful and innocent as you?”
“I am not innocent,” I scoffed, pushing at his chest to prop myself up again. Positioning myself to hang above him, I smiled when his nose twitched from the way my hair tickled his face. His eyes flickered back and forth, seeing something I’m not sure I would ever understand.
“Yes, you are. It’s one of the many things I love most about you.”
His hand on the back of my head convinced me to close the gap between us. I planted a soft yet meaningful kiss on his lips, but it wasn’t enough to stop the racing thoughts.
“Spencer, you aren’t anything like those guys.” I assured him, running my hand through his damp hair that had just started to curl.
“I’m not always so sure.” His eyes had finally met mine, unsure and petrified all at once.
“Well, I am.” I didn’t know how to explain it to him. He was always the one who had the words to explain things. All I had were quotes from people much smarter than myself.
“Look me in my eyes right now and tell me that you would still enjoy it if you honestly knew I wasn’t having fun.”
“I don’t know.”
I could recognize that he didn’t mean it. Those endorphins he was always talking about were screwing with his head. I’d seen his reactions when I was in pain. He did not like it.
“Spencer. You’re just going to have to believe me when I say that you are a good man. One of the best I’ve ever known.”
His tongue swept over his lips before he bit down on it, trying to swallow his doubts before he could give them any more life.
“I love playing with you, and I trust you with my life because I know you would never do anything to risk it. Okay?”
Spencer looked like he was finally starting to get it. Either that or he had just realized I wasn’t going to change my mind. Regardless, he gave a small pout as he said, “Okay.”
Shimmying further onto him, I swung my leg over his hip so I was practically sprawled over him like a blanket.
“Now tell me you love me,” I teased, settling onto him while he groaned at the sudden weight.
“I do love you.” He laughed when he said it, which was my goal in the first place.
With feigned bashfulness I cooed, “Awww, thanks.”
“You’re such a dork.”
The insult was such a ridiculous notion to me that I was convinced I had heard him wrong.
“Wow, I’m going to pretend like the man with 3 PhDs didn’t just call me a dork.”
I nestled my face to his neck, feeling the way his heartbeat was fluctuating as we began to settle into the calmness of a simple night together.
“It takes a dork to love a dork,” he opined in the dorkiest manner possible. But considering how those words in his voice brought so much joy to my heart, I chose to accept his hypothesis.
“Pffft. Go to sleep, old man.” I muttered, reaching up to loosely cover his mouth with my hand. The feel of his mouth curling into a smile before kissing my palm was all I needed to feel safe enough to sleep.
“Thank you, (y/n).”
“Anytime.”
—————————————————
The next morning felt a lot like the way the previous night had ended. I swear, it was almost like Spencer and I hadn’t moved an inch throughout the night. Maybe we really had been that tired.
Either way, I wasn’t tired anymore. I knew that if I stayed splayed out on top of Spencer while I was this restless, I would wake him up anyway. So I slowly inched off, hoping not to disturb him too much.
To my surprise, he barely stirred. Don’t get me wrong; his arms followed my body and required all of my strength to peel them off of me.
“Babe, I have to get up. I’ll be right back.” I mumbled, practically crawling out of his grip while he grumbled nonsense into the pillow.
He was so adorable that I almost felt bad about leaving him there alone. Almost.
See, Spencer had done so much for me in our relationship up to this point that it was starting to feel lopsided. I didn’t like that. There is something about owing people anything that doesn’t sit right with me.
That’s why, after sleepily brushing my teeth and trying to control the disaster of a bird’s nest on my head that resulted from sleeping on wet hair, I set out to do some good old fashioned chores.
It wasn’t hard to figure out where Spencer kept things - one of the perks of having a boyfriend with such a hatred of germs, I guess.
I don’t honestly know how long I spent topping off the cleaning around his apartment, but it couldn’t have been that long. The place was basically already spotless. Once I was satisfied, I picked up the thing I had been avoiding: my homework.
And that’s when Spencer conveniently awoke, ready to distract me from finishing the last few problems once more.
“I never thought I’d see you willingly doing your homework.”
I turned around from the couch, smiling at the state of my sleepy boyfriend still wrapped in a blanket. Adorable.
“Well, someone distracted me last night.”
“Oh, did they?” He joked as he came over to plant a kiss on the top of my head before making his normal beeline to make his morning cup of coffee.
But after I heard the familiar clinking of mugs, I paused my work with a smile.
“... Did you... did you do the dishes?”
“Yeah, why?” I called back, hearing the loud grinding of the gears moving in his mind.
“And made coffee.”
“Yes.”
I remained looking forward because somehow it made his confusion all the better. His hand was sliding against the counter top before moving to the stovetop, where I heard him moving the grates.
“... Did you clean my entire kitchen?”
“You’re very perceptive, Dr. Reid.”
He laughed, walking back over to me from the other direction with a pleasant, if not goofy, grin. He was going to say something else, but stopped when he noticed the basket filled with clean laundry on the floor next to the couch.
“You did my laundry? How long have you been awake? How did I sleep through this?”
Although he bent over to pick up the basket and turned to carry it off to the bedroom, he kept his eyes on me, waiting for my answer.
“I don’t know,” I shrugged, “A couple hours? You must have been tired.”
His eyes narrowed in an attempt to see through me, to learn the secrets of how I had managed to out-Spencer Reid him with my particularity.
“What? It’s not a very big place, Spencer. And most of your clothes are dry cleaned.”
As he walked away, I heard him groan. Like he should be embarrassed by the state of his apartment. Honestly, his starting point was cleaner than even the best deep clean would do for my apartment. If anyone was embarrassed, it was me.
“You should’ve woken me up,” he called from the hallway.
“You looked too cute!” I shouted back when he disappeared around the corner. “I didn’t want to ruin it. You don’t get enough sleep.”
Upon his return, he stood above me with a sarcastic scrutiny. I put my pencil down, looking up at him from my cross legged position on his couch.
“Is this what domestic life with you is like?” He asked, unable to hide his admiration any longer.
“Only when you’re nice to me.” I teased, reaching forward to grab the blanket still hanging over his shoulders to pull him closer to me.
“I’m always nice to you.”
“Then I guess that’s your answer.”
Losing his balance just a bit, he awkwardly stumbled onto the couch, plopping down next to me with the total lack of grace I’d come to expect from him.
“Well, thank you. You didn’t have to do any of that.”
“I wanted to.” I admitted, brushing his unruly curls out of his face. “Because now you have nothing to distract you from paying attention to me.”
He groaned, craning his neck away from me at the words, “Should’ve known there was a catch.”
“Oh yes,” I continued, climbing onto his lap with no resistance on his part. “I was thinking you and I could go to the park and…”
“Don’t say it,” he warned, raising a finger to my lips.
I didn’t care, and shouted past the digit, anyway.
“Please, Spencer! Take me for a picnic! Just once!”
“You know how I feel about picnics.”
Now it was my turn to whine, grabbing his hand between mine and lowering it, leaning forward in the hopes it would distract him.
“You can eat before and just feed me fruit. Spoil me rotten.”
My distractions didn’t work, and he didn’t even bother trying to kiss me back. He just spoke hurriedly into my lips.
“It’s not even just the food I’m worried about! Did you see the numbers of Lyme infections in the county?”
My eyebrows popped up, and I stuck my tongue out for a second in my excitement.
“Ooh, Doctor, you can check me for ticks,” I cooed.
Closing the space between us, I gave him a light, chaste kiss. Despite returning it, he also gave back a pout.
“Please don’t make me do this.”
Conveniently, he had forgotten that I was much more experienced at pouting. What I did next wasn’t really a pout, though, it was more like puppy dog eyes and a childish grin meant to evoke the strongest sense of guilt.
He dropped his head back, closing his eyes like he didn’t have an eidetic memory that would burn my cute nonsense into his brain.
“Why does the begging only work one way?”
“Is that a yes?” The excitement was clear in my voice, which must have sealed the deal.
Because he just sighed, running his hands up and down my waist.
“Fine. But I’m going to check you for ticks after and I promise you will not like it.”
This time when his hands made their way down my body, I rocked my hips against his. I could feel his erection already straining under his pants.
And he was acting like he was actually disappointed.
“You always say that and I always like it.” I pointed out, reorienting my heat over his erection and continuing my motions back and forth against him.
“Oh, really?” He tried to act calm, but I felt the way his fingers got tighter, his hips bucking up every couple of seconds.
“Yes,” I breathily whispered into his mouth before melting into a sloppy, frenzied kiss.
It didn’t last long, with his hand threading through my hair and pulling lightly to expose my neck to him.
“Tell me what you like, little girl.”
When he uttered the words, I noticed he was placing small kisses against the same pattern of his hand that had been wrapped around my neck. The thought alone consumed me, and I dug my fingers into his shoulders, gasping at the sensation of his tongue swirling patterns over my pulse.
“You,” was the only syllable I could express.
The light chuckle he gave sent shivers down my spine, his bottom lip dragging over my skin while he savored the newly forming memories.
“I never got to spoil you last night,” he reminded, bringing a hand down to stroke my thigh.
“Oh, I wasn’t disappointed at all.” I was going to continue, telling him that he didn’t have to get me off every time. Then again, I knew that he wasn’t going to accept that answer, anyway. Regardless, he spoke quickly and with confidence when he said, “I’m still going to make up for it. Take off your pants.”
I wasted no time springing up from my position with a cheeky little taunt. “This sounds familiar.”
“But this time you were a good girl.”
The distinction was not lost on me, and I had to admit hearing him call me a good girl in this context turned me on more than I had thought it would. Apparently, I was wrong for thinking I was entirely a brat, because right now I just wanted to hear him praise me.
“Maybe I should do that more often,” I happily hummed as I began to straddle him once more, pausing for a moment for him to lay languid, open-mouthed kisses against my breasts.
He paused just for a second to growl, “Don’t you dare.”
I didn’t bother saying ‘I told you so’ because he was already pulling my hips down so that I could sink onto his length. Biting my lip to try and stifle the full moan, my fingers returned to their place embedded in his skin.
“Fuck,” he spoke under his breath and through a clenched jaw, “I don’t think you understand what you do to me.”
He wasn’t entirely wrong. I could only guess the effect I had on him by just how stupid the bona fide genius got when I was around.
When I could look into his eyes again I pushed his hair back with both hands, trying to express my feelings with each roll of my hips.
“Tell me about it,” I purred, my mouth hanging open as he started to thrust up in slow, synchronized movements.
Through the heavy panting and strained motions of his muscles, he spoke with a clarity that demonstrated how long he’d thought about his words.
“I just… I’ve never been able to picture a future until the day I met you.”
My heart stopped for a moment before continuing its strong, hard rhythm against the inside of my rib cage. I wanted to see the look on his face, but he had buried his head into my neck and hair. Each inhale seemed so purposeful, reminding me that I smelled of his soap.
I smiled at the way his hands felt just like they had last night, holding themselves back from claiming me with the rough, greedy nature they so often did.
“I can recall any minor detail from any point in the past. I relive them so often, but the future? That was always this terrifying, suffocating concoction of unknowns until that night.”
It almost felt like I was there again, feeling the bass shaking the chair I was sitting in when I kissed him for the very first time. I thought about the compassion in his eyes when he learned the truth about our situation.
Although it had only a few months since then, it felt like a lifetime ago. I couldn’t and didn’t want to remember a life before Spencer Reid.
Once again reading my mind, he stopped laying kisses against my shoulders to hold my face in his hand, stroking my cheek while our bodies continued in their need.
“You are the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”
When he thrust up this time, his eyes shut and his mouth hung open as he pulled our foreheads together. I continued to watch him, watching how his eyebrows furrowed and he tried to focus on remembering this moment more than usual.
“A future with you, huh?” I whispered, my features softening as he struggled to look at me through his own infatuated haze. “It sounds nice.”
He smiled, and I continued before he could take my lips with his own.
“A white picket fence. Two little bratty genius babies.” My attempts to excite him were absolutely working, because with each idea I provided, the urgency with which he pulled me down increased.
“Just a normal, domestic life,” I laughed, my legs beginning to shake as he held me against him with each movement, “with Dr. and Mrs. Reid.”
“Fuck,” he muttered without providing any other answer before pressing his thumb against my puckered lips.
I took it into my mouth quickly, lavishing it with my tongue as much as I could before he removed it. His hand then shot down to where our bodies were joined, beginning to rub my clit in rough, circular strokes.
The trembling that was once contained to my legs spread throughout my entire body, the moans spilling out of my mouth without a care in the world for who might hear. As long as Spencer was enjoying my responses, that’s all that mattered to me.
I wanted him to see the things I could never say. The way I felt whenever I was with him.
“Don’t tempt me, little girl. Keeping talking like that and I’ll steal you away from whatever plans you had.” He spoke in my ear with that low register, his voice barely above a whisper.
I could hardly breathe, and I spent all my energy trying to follow his words.
“Take me.” I urged, feeling the tension in my muscles approaching their breaking point. “Take me, Spencer. Please.”
It was with those words that I felt my body give into him, my muscles gripping him and begging him to join me in my release. But he waited, giving a few more rough, deep thrusts into me.
“Just like a true daddy’s girl.” He chuckled, watching as I came undone, my body eventually going half limp in his arms. “You’re already spoiled rotten.”
My skin was sticky with sweat, and the sounds of our bodies colliding together in the dim morning light continued to overwhelm my senses. He seemed to enjoy the way he could clean me just to dirty me all over again, and I almost made a comment about it, but I couldn’t find the words in time.
Instead, I just whined, “I want more. I want it.”
He didn’t respond with words because he didn’t have to, his broken, shaky thrusts spoke for him. Using both hands to slam my body down against him one last time, he gave a guttural moan against the side of my face.
“It’s all for you, little girl.” He said between breaths. I cried out at the sensation of him filling me, my muscles clutching onto him like a vice, begging him to stay with me until he was completely spent.
He took the offer, pulling my body against his and leaning us back while we caught our breath. Eventually, I was the one to speak, my words suddenly sleepy and disoriented from the emotional toll of our encounter.
“Thank you.”
His chest still rose and fell with his deep breaths, trying to stabilize his heart before he spoke.
“For what?”
“Loving me.”
That look on his face was back; the one that begged me not to say the words back to him. I hated it. I wanted to tell him the truth, and now felt like such a perfect moment. But at the same time, I understood why he didn’t want it associated with sex.
‘Right now you just think that because your body is coursing with endorphins and adrenaline,’ I could hear him saying, ‘Once that goes away, you might find you feel differently about me.’
But it wasn’t true. I would feel this way about him forever. I already knew that with every fiber of my being. Then again, there was no point in arguing with him.
I would just continue to show him however I could, through loads of laundry and sleepy kisses. My ‘I love you’s would be subtly explaining who got what side of the bed and whether our children would look more like me or him.
At least for now. Until he decided he was ready, or until I couldn’t hold it in any longer.
I really hoped it would be the former.

Guys Like You Chapter 15
Title: Guys Like You
Chapter: 15
Chapter Summary: "Two lines means pregnant, right?"
Rating: 18+
Warnings: Mentions of pregnancy, miscarriage, illusions to smut and a shitty ex, swearing.
{Prologue} {Chapter 1} {Chapter 2} {Chapter 3} {Chapter 4} {Chapter 5} {Chapter 6} {Chapter 7} {Chapter 8} {Chapter 9} {Chapter 10} {Chapter 11} {Chapter 12} {Chapter 13} {Chapter 14}
Everything seemed so similar to how it was the first time, years ago. The pit in her stomach, her pulse pounding in her ears. The feel of the wrapper when she opened it, the awkward positioning, wondering if she managed to soak it for the required amount of time, the unpleasant task of putting the cap back on the stick to keep urine from getting on anything else. All the same as the last time.
This time however, she also bore the scars from the previous experience. How her hopes had been crushed, how she'd been cast aside. She'd thought he would have been happy for some reason. He didn't use protection, so that meant he must have wanted to build a family with her, right? She had learned that wasn't the case. He was just a selfish prick. She'd waited for an ultrasound, just to fully confirm the life she had inside of her. She'd been thrilled to learn there were two of them. Twins, just like the rest of her family! He'd thrown the picture in the trash the second he realized what it was. He wanted nothing to do with her anymore. She was used goods. Worthless. Trash, just like the picture of her babies.
Now though, her boyfriend was waiting just outside the bathroom door. It had taken some urging to get him to leave the room, actually. It would seem the manner in which the test had to be taken had slipped his mind. An awkward staring contest had ensued before Faye had quietly asked him to leave so she could pee. A rare luxury she had as a mother, to be perfectly honest. He was quick to grant her some privacy after that.
She placed the plastic stick face down and scrubbed her hands thoroughly, wasting as much time as she could before she had to to open the door. Henry was waiting just outside, as he had promised, an unreadable expression on his face. Of course he would keep his emotions hidden for now. He was an actor, after all. No sense in letting her know how much he was freaking out as well, right?
"Well?" Henry asked softly, his hand automatically reaching out for hers, needing to feel her skin on his.
"It takes a couple of minutes to work..."
"Are you alright?" Henry asked softly, gently cupping her jaw and tilting her head to look up at him. Concern. A look she hadn't been accustomed to all those years ago.
"I don't know... I'm scared."
"I'm so sorry I put you in this situation." Henry apologized, carefully pulling her close and wrapping his arms around her. He needed to hold her in that moment, possibly even more than she needed to be held.
"I know you didn't mean to... It's just... well I told you about the last time."
"I'm not him, darling." Henry assured, resting his cheek on her head. "I'm not going anywhere."
"I know, and I keep telling myself that. It's just hard to forget what happened before. For some reason, I thought he would have been happy. I should have known better, honestly. He never thought about anyone but himself."
"I can promise you, I would be incredibly happy to raise more children with you, if that's what you want. If you decide you don't want anymore, that's fine. I'll just have to settle for spoiling Briar even more to make up for it."
"I always pictured myself having a few kids. After having to go through my entire pregnancy alone and the miscarriage, and then having to raise Briar by myself, though... it wasn't easy. It made me wonder if I was even meant to be a mother."
"You're a fantastic mother, Faye. Briar thinks the world of you, and you've done an excellent job raising her, but you don't have to do it alone anymore."
"It's got to be done by now... can you go check it?" Faye asked hopefully.
"Together?" Henry asked, slipping past Faye to grab the stick.
"No, just tell me." Faye requested, chewing the inside of her lip nervously.
"Uhh... two lines means pregnant, right?"
"What?" Faye yelped, staring at him like a deer caught in headlights.
"I'm just looking at the key! There's only one line!" Henry quickly corrected, his eyes going wide when he'd realized his mistake.
"Oh my God,  you asshole!" Faye groaned, throwing her arms around his middle and hiding in his chest.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you like that." Henry apologized, tossing the stick back onto the counter and holding her close.
"I'm so mad at you!" Faye whimpered, her voice muffled by his shirt.
"Would putting on your pretty new dress make you feel better?" Henry offered, smiling to himself at Faye's slow nod. "Then let's both get cleaned up. The sitter should be here in an hour, and I don't think answering the door wet and wearing nothing but a towel is a good first impression."
"You'd kill the poor girl if you did that." Faye snorted, tilting her head back and resting her chin against his chest.
"We need her to live. Someone has to watch Briar while we got get unreasonably drunk."
"Planning on drinking a lot tonight, my love?" Faye asked, raising a brow at him.
"Oh we are both definitely drinking tonight. It's a celebration and you've just been given the go ahead for drinking."
"But if we're both drunk, who's going to be the responsible one?'
"That's why we're hiring a sitter. We can both be irresponsible, at least for one night."
"Fine, but I'm taking the first shower." Faye sighed, pulling away and slipping down the hall, giving Henry a confused look when he followed right after, already stripping his shirt off the second he got into their bedroom. "What do you think you're doing?"
"Playing lifeguard." Henry taunted, shooting her a shit eating grin.
"Is that a polite way of saying jacking off while I'm showering?"
"Well you could always lend me a hand." Henry offered, already working on his belt.
"We only have an hour before the sitter gets here!"
"That forty five minutes more than I need." Henry growled, shoving the rest of his clothing down his legs, kicking them off, and snatching her up.
Faye felt the need to point out that his estimation of fifteen minutes had been a bit lean. It was almost half an hour before they reemerged from the bathroom. Henry tried to argue that they spent some of the time actually bathing, though he knew it was a pointless debate. All it took was Henry taking her dress from the closet, still in it's protective bag and laying it on the bed for her to drop the subject entirely.
"It's so pretty!" Faye sighed as she unzipped the bag, running her hands over the soft fabric. It was a soft grey dress, the skirt made of tulle and a structured corset like top to it. Henry had insisted she go with the grey after she'd tried on numerous other colorful options. All the color suited her bright personality, but clashed with her already brightly colored hair, and took away from the shimmer in her smile and the wide innocence she held in her eyes. In the grey, she shined. She was the center of attention instead of what she was wearing. It enhanced all of her wonderful qualities instead of competing with them. Henry had no doubt she would be the one on everyone's minds tonight.
Most of the drive there was spent with Henry trying to coach Faye on what to do. He knew how terrifying everything could be, and he knew people would have a lot of questions, mostly about who she was. He instructed her to just keep her eyes on him to avoid being overwhelmed by the crowd and the flashing cameras. He didn't expect her to talk to anyone, and advised against saying anything to anyone that was recording or looked like any type of journalist, especially without him there. He knew they tended to twist words and make mountains out of molehills, and he didn't want any more stress on her than necessary.
None of it felt real until the driver finally came to a halt, Faye spying the waiting crowd for the first time. Sure, she had been expecting some people. It was the season two premiere of a Netflix hit show. She just didn't know it would be this many. She wasn't a fan of crowds at the best of times. Now, she was debating on just having the driver take her back home.
"Eyes on me." Henry reminded her, smiling brightly when her brown doe eyes met his blue gaze. "None of that matters, it's just us." He assured, taking a slow deep breath which Faye mirrored before his door was opened and he stepped out, shooting a charming smile at the crowd as he buttoned his suit coat, the flashes of the cameras temporarily blinding him.
He turned back around and offered Faye his hand, seeming to relax more himself when she delicately rested her hand in his and slid from the car. Just as he expected, the cameras picked up into an absolute frenzy, everyone eager to get a picture of the mystery woman accompanying Henry Cavill at such an important event.
Brushing off their questions was easy enough for Henry, simply replying with "She's gorgeous, isn't she?" Whenever anyone asked who she was and moving along. That did nothing to quell the 'news' stories that popped up later that night and into the next day, all calling for who this mystery woman was and what her relationship to Henry was, however.
He had happened upon it by chance, just scrolling through his newsfeed on Facebook. It wasn't the title that caught his attention, however. It was the picture of her face, that bright smile he'd only seen in old pictures and those same wide eyes, now locked on someone else like he was the only man in the world. She thought she could just move on like that? Didn't that idiot know she was used goods? Nothing but a whore that would try to trap him into something for the rest of his life.
"That bitch!" He hissed, feeling his blood boil. Did she really think she could get away with embarrassing him like this? Going around and flaunting what being a whore could do for someone? No, he wasn't going to allow it. She was his, and it was time she stopped all of her nonsense and came back.

PatB AU: Pinky the Snowmouse
This is just one of those late night ideas that I wanted to post. It’s somewhat based off that Frosty the Snowman special from the 60s with a dash of Pinocchio.
I haven’t actually watched either of these recently. My subconscious is just weird.
1. After his fallout with Snowball, Brain continues to aspire for world domination, but finds that he’s hit a block when it comes to plans. He doesn’t have inspiration nor anyone to bounce ideas off with, but he tries to push past it and just continue creating. There’s bound to be a gem or two amidst all the duds, he tells himself. And he doesn’t need anyone else, he can rule the world on his own.
2. ACME Labs hosts a Christmas party, and they invite a magician for entertainment. Brain is in his cage, brainstorming ideas for world domination while the scientists gather around for the magician’s performance. Brain knows magic is all just sleight of hand and optical illusions, and rolls his eyes at the magician failing to even manage that. The scientists all mock the magician, and their laughter grows more when the magician fails to pull a rabbit out of his hat.
3. The magician is laughed out of ACME Labs, and he swears revenge against all the scientists who work there. But he left his top hat on a table by Brain’s cage, and he doesn’t notice until later that night. ACME Labs closes, and Brain escapes his cage, glad that the party is finally over so he can get back to planning properly.
4. But loneliness creeps up on Brain again, and he tries to dismiss it as the reason he can’t concentrate. So he goes outside, where a thick layer of snow has covered the ground. He starts kicking around snow and eventually builds a snowmouse, wondering if he’s gone mad since he’s partaking in an activity that’s usually reserved for children and not future emperors.
5. He builds the snowmouse’s body first, using a stick for a tail and fashioning the head. Then he decides it’s missing some prerequisites to be a proper snowman, so he goes inside and gathers a bunch of buttons, a pink scarf, and lastly, the magician’s hat. He goes back to the snowmouse and dresses him up, then tosses on the hat as a finisher.
6.  And boy, if Brain felt ridiculous before then now it was tripled since he decided to dress up the snowmouse like it was a real entity. He angrily starts berating himself for being distracted and that he needs to focus, because he can’t be like all those other scientists.
He declares that their collective minds are nothing compared to the intelligence in his pinky, and a voice answers ‘yes?’
7. Brain thinks he’s just hearing things, then the voice goes ‘oh, i thought you called my name. Narf!’
Then Brain turns around and freaks out, because holy crap the snowmouse he built was alive and talking. Brain dismisses it as a figment of his imagination at first, but as the newly christened Pinky the snowmouse displays a rather glaring lack of intelligence, he can’t help but be curious about how snow can come to life. He circles Pinky and tries to figure it out, taking off the magic hat, and Pinky goes still and silent. Brain quickly puts the hat on Pinky again, and soon the snowmouse is dancing around once more.
8.  Unbeknownst to either of them, the magician saw the hat bring Pinky to life and decides he can profit off the hat, then follows the two mice.
9. Pinky gets distracted and wanders into town with Brain trailing after him and making sure Pinky’s stupidity and lack of awareness about the world doesn’t kill them both. To Brain’s dismay, he finds that Pinky takes in pop culture much faster than he does at science. It’s pretty ironic that Pinky already knows who Mariah Carrey is despite being alive for less than an hour, but he believes snowflakes are manufactured in an eco-friendly factory in the clouds.
10. Pinky sees a pair of lovers hugging, then tries to do the same with Brain. Unfortunately, all this does is make Brain shiver with cold, and Pinky feels bad for hurting him like that. Brain shouts at him for hugging, but when Pinky apologizes, Brain realizes it was just an accident and tells him not to do it again.
11. Pinky notices that images of Santa are plastered all over the place since it’s the holiday season, and wishes he could meet the big guy. This leads into inspiration for Brain to create his own line of toys and plant them in the elf factory for mass production and distribution. Brain praises Pinky for the inspiration.
12. Brain creates the Noodle Noggin plans and together the mice stow away in a plane bound for the North Pole. However, it’s necessary for Pinky to stay in cold temperatures, so they have to remain in the cargo hold and away from the heated cockpit. Brain is freezing despite being dressed for cold weather, and Pinky feels bad for not being able to keep him warm. Pinky says he wishes he could be a real mouse like Brain, so that he can be his friend forever.
Brain thinks the headaches Pinky gave him were pretty real, but the companionship and kindness were real too. He keeps quiet about this, unsure of what to say.
13. The magician has also stowed away on the plane.
14. The plane lands at the North Pole, and the mice head to the elf factory. They discover Pinky can’t enter the elf factory since it’s heated, so Brain goes in alone to slip the Noodle Noggin plans in with the other blueprints, while Pinky wanders off and explores the North Pole settlement.
15. Before Brain can successfully slip the blueprints in, the magician ambushes and successfully captures him, and the Noodle Noggin plans are torn beyond saving in the struggle. Angered at the loss of his plans, Brain demands the magician explain himself. The magician declares he gets a two for one profit, with a talking mouse and a magic hat, then realizes the snowmouse is missing and demands to know where he is.
16. Without the hat, Pinky can’t stay alive. Brain refuses to reveal Pinky’s location for any reason, and the magician tries to force it out of him. Brain is stubborn though and refuses to speak.
17. Pinky finishes wandering around the village and goes back to check on Brain, thinking he’s taking an awfully long time in the elf factory. He peeks in through a window, discovering that a man is hurting a very distressed Brain, who’s still resisting.
18. Pinky shouts for Brain, and gets the magician’s attention. Brain yells at him for drawing attention to himself, ordering him to run. But Pinky won’t do it, because Brain is in trouble and needs help.
19. The magician demands Pinky give up the magic hat. But Pinky will only give up the hat if he releases Brain. The magician agrees, but Brain knows full well that the magician is far too greedy and will go back on his word, and Pinky is giving up the hat and his life for a promise that won’t be kept.
20. With Brain in hand, the magician walks over to a fireplace and tells Pinky to come inside. The fireplace is bright and warm, and Brain orders Pinky to just leave, because the heat will kill him if he doesn’t. Pinky starts to melt as he comes closer, telling Brain it’s okay, he’s happy they’re friends, even if their time together was brief.
21. When Pinky is in front of the fireplace, the magician snatches the hat off his head, and renders Pinky lifeless. Reveling in victory, the magician releases Brain who hugs and begs Pinky to wake up and stop being stupid, just wake up and say narf, Pinky. Except Pinky can’t see or hear anymore, and is nothing more than cold, melting water with a few accessories. Brain is left crying and pleading for Pinky to come back, clutching a wet scarf in his hands. The magician mocks Brain for believing that a pile of snow had thoughts and feelings.
22. But the magician’s joy is cut short at Santa Claus’s sudden appearance. Angry that someone could take such mirth in murdering an innocent creature and cause so much grief in his best friend, Santa orders his elves to tie up the magician and take him away. The elves obey, and the magician is reduced to a pathetic mess.
23. Brain barely notices the commotion. Santa decides to grant Brain one Christmas wish, just to give him a little comfort. And Brain ponders, knowing that he journeyed all this way for world domination, and while he can easily cut a lot of hassle by using his wish to make himself ruler of the world...he remembers Pinky’s sacrifice.
Pinky’s compassion. Pinky’s kindness. How Pinky provided the inspiration he needed.
Brain admits to Santa that even if Pinky was made of snow, he still had the warmest heart he’d ever known.
24. Brain asks if it’s possible for Pinky to be revived with a body to reflect his warm heart.
25. Santa grants the wish. The puddle that used to be Pinky reshapes and forms into a living, breathing mouse with the softest, warmest fur imaginable. Pinky marvels at his new body and the mice have their first proper hug. Brain is overjoyed at Pinky being alive again, and Pinky is happy to be a real mouse at last.
26. Santa lets the mice ride home in his sleigh (Pinky falls in love with Donner on the way home and Brain learns what jealousy is for the first time and hopes to god they don’t get invited to any Donner parties). Meanwhile all the elves are sobbing with their hot cocoa, marshmallows, and candy canes while watching all the drama unfold on their security feed because this is the best Christmas drama they’ve seen in years.

Namjoon’s chest was heaving as he got off the stage, the strobe lights swirling around the room as the bounced up and down. Whoever decided that having the Underground under a night club was perhaps the smartest person alive.
“Now that’s what I’m talking about!” Jackson shouted, handing Namjoon a towel to wipe away the sweat. “You have them eating out of your hands man.”
Letting himself be led to the lounge area, Namjoon laughed as Jackson continued praising him. His ears felt warm as he ducked his head, taking a moment to focus on drying off and collecting his thoughts, a habit he engaged in since the first time he went up on stage.
The Underground lasted until dawn every night. After that first encounter with Jackson, Namjoon found himself coming to Lotus after work on the nights they had rap battles, and this was his fourth time rapping against someone. Apparently after he told Jackson about wanting to be on stage, the jacked up blond man had self-appointed himself as his own personal manager and by the next night when Namjoon came by, he had a clipboard tossed in his face. Written in black pen was his name on a sign-up sheet. Fourth spot.
There was a part of him that felt guilty for not telling you about this. He was still playing it off as late nights at work, which was partially true. Yoongi and him were still at odds with the artist, the unspeakable song was now a thorn in their sides along with the unwanted girlfriend. She was coming to all the meetings now. Her perfume tainted their workspace to the point that Namjoon had to ask Yoongi if they could share studios for a bit.
But now instead of catching the bus or a ride with Yoongi to go home, he found himself going to Lotus, a flame within burning to get up on the stage again. He had years of material and with it memorized, it was only the nerves he had to shove away before walking up those short steps.
No one had cheered for him when he was announced that first night. The other contender had been new as well, but by the end of their round, the crowd was cheering for Rap Monster even after Jackson led him away for some air.
“Hey man, you feeling okay?” Jackson suddenly asked, the door creaking as he led Namjoon out a side door.
Namjoon lifted his head, breathing in a lungful of the warm summer air. “Yeah,” he said, leaning against the brick wall when the door shut. The loud music was muffled then, giving him the peace that he needed for that moment. The high he got from being up there was, out of this world, but the last thing he wanted was for it to get to his head.
What he wanted, was for you to be there.
To be cheering him on and being the one for him to hug after each round. To breathe in your scent and go on a mental trip to fall where there were crisp apples and nutmeg, all while standing out in the middle of a summer night. You were the one who grounded him, the most important person in the world, all while reminding him that he was living out his dreams.
“Just catching my breath,” Namjoon reassured.
Jackson pointed a finger at him and joined his side against the wall. “Man, I knew I had a good feeling about you since that first night.”
“Are you sure you don’t have any dog DNA in you?” Namjoon asked, still amazed with how much energy Jackson possessed.
The blond just laughed though. “Yeah, I’m sure. There’s just something I don’t get though.” He handed over a water bottle, not without stealing a sip first.
“And what’s that?”
“Why the hell don’t you have an album out if you work for a recording company?” Jackson frowned as he looked at Namjoon. The question had been bothering Jackson since he first learned about where he worked.
However, Namjoon just shrugged, gulping down some of the lukewarm water. “It wasn’t a priority when I first started working there,” he explained, passing the bottle back to Jackson. “Yes, I wrote songs and after I met Angel, the dream of putting out an album finally came back, but I wasn’t ready for anyone to hear it.”
Jackson nodded in understanding, but came to a pause as he thought over something that confused him. “Wait, you saw an Angel? Man, do I need to know something? Maybe start carrying a little something in-case things go sideways?”
Grateful to not have taken a drink, Namjoon grinned. Although, when you entered his life, he swore that angels were suddenly real and walked among everyone on Earth, they were just well hidden. Only revealing themselves to a special few. He knew that considering his life and the things that he’s done, he didn’t deserve you, but he was a selfish bastard and he didn’t want to let you go.
“No, no. You’re fine. Angel is just a nickname for my…”
His voice softened, torn between saying the truth, and what he so longed to say. His wife. That word alone managed to free and strangle him at the same time, because as true as it was, it wasn’t a legal binding marriage. Not for humans at least.
“Your Mate?” Jackson said, figuring that was what he meant.
“Yeah,” he said. “My Mate.”
Pointing at the door, Jackson smiled. “Is she here? What the hell man, why’d you let me take you outside if she’s inside? Shit, I feel bad, we ditched her without a second thought. Look I know a girl who works at this florist shop, she does some amazing work and I can get you a discount if your girl’s upset –”
“Angel’s not here,” Namjoon interrupted, waving his hands to catch his attention. It truly was shocking that the guy wasn’t a hybrid.
Jackson’s eyes widened as his mouth dropped open, the snap-back that he wore sliding down until he shoved it around backwards. “Oh shit, is she sick?”
“No, she just…”
How does he say that you had no idea that he was even here? That if he was being honest, you were probably certain that he was still at work and because you trusted him, hadn’t thought to call Yoongi and ask where he was. Namjoon knew that you listened to rap on occasion, so it wasn’t as if you would outright hate the music.
It was just…no one knew who he was here.
Sure, he was quickly becoming friends with Jackson, but Jackson never knew him before their first meeting. No one knew about his past, or the hybrid that he had been forced to be to survive. They only knew what he told them, and the songs he wrote and performed.
The idea of you not approving, or worse, being disappointed in him, made the hard decision only slightly easier. It was better that you didn’t know. He was already unable to do the one thing he knew you longed for, why add another to that list?
The side door opened, strobe lights brightening the darkness as a group of girls walked outside, their high-pitched laughter hitting Namjoon’s ears in a way that had them flattening against his skull. They served as the distraction that he needed though. One glance at Jackson revealed that his new friend was already grinning, even finger waving, at one of the brunettes.
Namjoon raised an eyebrow, fighting back a smile as he clapped Jackson’s shoulder. “Alright Romeo, I’m calling it a night.”
“Yeah,” Jackson murmured, glancing back at Namjoon. “I’ll see you for the next battle?”
“I’ll be here. Night man.”
“Night.”
Walking around his friend, Namjoon opened the door and glanced backwards, chuckling as Jackson nodded for the girl to join him. Not wanting to get in the way of his friend perhaps meeting the one, he let the door close behind him and headed his way towards the hallway that would lead out of the Underground and the Lotus.
There was certainly a benefit to knowing that for every Hybrid, each one had their own Mate, destined to be their one and only for eternity. There was too much uncertainty with humans, always the possibility that they didn’t love you as much as you loved them. Granted, finding your Mate was never always an easy thing to do, but even on the coldest night when the entire world appeared in black and white, it had been a comforting thought to know that someone was out there waiting for him.
He never would have thought he’d end up with an angel though.
Leaving the swarm of club goers behind him, he deeply inhaled, double patting his back pocket to guarantee that his notebook was still there – which it was thankfully – and began the long walk home. The last bus running had stopped hours ago. Even Jerry was starting to ask where he went now that he was getting off at a new stop. Every time he asked, the concern and worry rolled off of him like freshly baked bread, and the lies came too easily.
I’m meeting up with Angel for a late night out.
It had worked for the first couple times, but Namjoon knew it wouldn’t last forever. There were only so many places that the someone could go to this late at night.
His ears flattened against the curve of his skull, his tail coming to a halt as he walked. When did it become easier to lie to you than tell the truth? This wasn’t a life that you deserved, but as much as he hated to admit it, there was no ending in sight for him. He…he couldn’t give up the rap battles. Not when he was getting so much attention, when so many people were enjoying and listening to what he had to say.
He finally found a place where he felt like he belonged.
Deep within, his heart ached in confusion and longing. After so long, he was getting the recognition and acknowledgement that his dreams had a possibility of being a reality. On the other side however, he knew he wasn’t supposed to be doing this alone. There was an empty place that could only be filled by one person and one person only, and you were sleeping in bed.
Tumblr media
Carefully shutting the front door behind him, Namjoon yawned as he removed his ear buds with one hand, pausing the music on his phone with the other, all while carefully kicking his shoes off and on to the rack in the hallway.
It was well after three in the morning, and limbs heavy from the long walk, all he wanted to do was crawl into bed and sleep with you before returning back to work in a few hours. If it weren’t for the fact that he knew he couldn’t sleep without you anymore, he would have gladly passed out on the couch that was only a handful of steps away.
His exhaustion dulled his senses and as a result, he didn’t pick up on the way that your scent was stronger than it usually was. Granted, this was your home and you spent a majority of your time here, but the living room and kitchen were bathing in nutmeg. He hummed at the way it tickled his memories, vaguely recalling the last time it had been this strong so late at night.
A bang in the kitchen revived him from his daze, frowning as he hurried his way to the kitchen, only then noticing how all the lights in the living room and kitchen were on. He stopped short though, only reaching the kitchen table which was currently hidden underneath the many plates of baked goods that covered it.
You were standing at oven with you back to him, the screen of your phone lit up as your fingers quickly tapped on it before removing a cookie sheet off the stove top and on to a cooling rack. It was a pie. A deep breath on his part and not only was he smelling you, or the apple pie that you baked at three in the morning, but the saltiness of tears being shed.
“Angel?”
Stepping around the table, Namjoon suddenly felt wide awake knowing that you were in pain. His instincts screamed at him to go to you, to hold and comfort you until you were able to tell him what was wrong. To protect you from whatever was hurting you.
At the sound of his voice, you whirled around to face him, the tears turning your eyes into mini oceans when you met his gaze. But you held a palm up and shook your head. His heart came to sudden halt. You didn’t want him to come to you.
“I…I can’t do this,” you said. Your voice was cracking, your free hand curling into a fist by your side.
He felt your pain coming off of you in waves, every emotion seeming to hit Namjoon from every angle but when he tried to go to you once again, a choked cry escaped your lips as you shook your head again.
“Sweetheart,” he whined, his ears now completely flat as he reached out for the back of the chair. You never turned away his hugs and touch before. Usually, you told him how much his presence was more than enough to comfort you. “What’s wrong? What happened Angel?”
A quick glance away from you revealed that even on the counters there were more baked goods. The last time you had done this…Sue had taken Hoseok away from Sarah. He bit down on the inside of his mouth, trying to push that memory away. No. You were his Mate. You had promised that what happened to them would never happen to the two of you.
He watched your tongue dart out to wet your lips, your shaky breaths loud as your tried to collect yourself without his help, his own tears slipping out when you covered your face with your hands for a moment.
“Who is she?” Your voice was muffled by your hands, but you lifted your head to repeat yourself. “Who is she?”
“Who’s who?” He asked, not understanding who you were talking about.
That must have been the wrong thing to say however, because your face scrunched up as another sob left your shoulders shaking and bent you forward. Despite not wanting him near, he couldn’t let you collapse in on yourself. Catching you, he gently guided you to one of the chairs, crouching down on the floor in front of you to be able to look up at you.
“Please, sweetheart. What’s going on? Please tell me.”
“Who is she?” You asked, staring at him with all the pain laid out in your eyes for him to see, sending his own heart cracking at the agony you had been hiding from him. He didn’t think anything could be more painful than seeing you hurting so much. His entire being and purpose felt like it was shattering to a million pieces.
“Who’s the woman that you’re having an affair with Namjoon? Who is she?”
